Teams with Highest IRT

MLB Hitting Stack: Houston Astros**

vs. LHP Daniel Norris (DET): 6.35 Runs

**Low Risk

The Astros offense has come back down to reality as of late after going on a heater for the last month. This is still a dangerous lineup and they get a favorable matchup against LHP Daniel Norris. He is having an average season, owning 4.82 ERA, 4.86 FIP, and 4.70 SIERA. Norris has a GB rate of 41% and a BABIP of .318. He is allowing 1.68 HR/9. His splits are pretty identical so i feel comfortable going R or L through this Astros lineup.

Preferred Plays: Yordon Alvarez ($4300 FD|$5500 DK), Alex Bregman ($4500 FD|$5200 DK), George Springer ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), and Jose Altuve ($4400 FD|$5100 DK).

MLB Hitting Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. LHP Drew Smyly (BOS): 6.60 Runs

**Moderate Risk

As of now the Red Sox hold the highest implied run total on the slate. They get a weak left handed pitcher in Drew Smyly, who had a flash of greatness when traded to the Phillies, but now he seems to be back to his normal 7.00+ ERA self, giving up four or more runs in his last three starts. Smyly is allowing a massive 47% hard contact, 46% fly ball rate, and 2.81 HR/9. I have a tough time paying the premium salary for these Red Sox players with the fantasy output we’ve been getting in return lately, but they should be one of the top owned stacks tonight.

Preferred Stack: Andrew Benintendi ($3600 FD|$4800 DK), Sam Travis ($3000 FD|$4100 DK), J.D. Martinez ($4200 FD|$5100 DK), and Rafael Devers ($4600 FD|$5700 DK). Also consider Mookie Betts ($4400 FD|$5400 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB Hitting Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers

vs. RHP Thomas Pannone (TOR): 4.25 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Corey Seager ($3400 FD|$4200 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4900 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Turner ($3900 FD|$4600 DK) and A.J. Pollock ($3500 FD|$4100 DK). Also consider: Matt Beaty ($2800 FD|$4300 DK) for value.

MLB Hitting Stack: Washington Nationals

vs. RHP Joe Musgrove (PIT): 5.10 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Juan Soto ($4100 FD|$5400 DK), Anthony Rendon ($4400 FD|$5300 DK), Trea Turner ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), and Matt Adams ($3400 FD|$4600 DK). Also consider: Adam Eaton ($3800 FD|$5000 DK).

MLB Hitting Stack: Atlanta Braves

vs. LHP Caleb Smith (MIA): 5.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Adam Duvall ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), Josh Donaldson ($3600 FD|$4500 DK), Ozzie Albies ($3400 FD|$4500 DK), and Charlie Culberson ($2000 FD|$3600 DK).

Pitching

  1. Adrian Houser RHP (MIL): 4.20
  2. Yu Darvish RHP (CHC): UPDATE
  3. Walker Buehler RHP (LAD): 4.25 Runs

Todays picks are listed in order of preference, not price.

David Jones won 100K on FanDuel this week! Read about it here!

Catcher: Danny Jansen ($2,800 FD) has three home runs in his last six games an no one plays him because he is at the bottom of the order. The Blue Jays should beat up on Yusei Kikuchi (L) today. He carries a 5.56 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. He has given up seven home runs in his last 12.1 innings. Jansen has five home runs in 92 at bats this year and hits lefties at .216 ISO/.332 wOBA.

Catcher: Will Smith ($3,600) Against lefties this season the Fresh Prince has two home runs in 26 at bats. He has a .308 ISO/.389 wOBA. The game starts at 1:20pm today in ATL and it will be HOT. He goes against Max Fried, who I do have a lot of respect for. In his last three game he has not given up a home run, but that doesn’t mean he can’t. If Smith is batting close to the top of the order, I like it even more.

First Base: Pete Alonso ($4,200 FD) goes against Glenn Sparkman. Spark has a 5.45 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. He has given up seven home runs in his last five. Alonso has the best bat on the Mets and is most likely to take Spark deep. He has 27 home runs this season and is hitting .305 ISO/ .406 wOBA vs righties.

First Base: Sam Travis ($2,900 FD) is too cheap for his opportunity today. He goes against my favorite pitcher to target, Ty Blach. Travis has four homers vs lefties and bats .241 ISO/.368 wOBA. He looks like the best value at first today.

Honorable Mentions: Matt Adams

Second Base: Keston Hiura ($3,500 FD) is always contributing. The Brewers get a totally depleted Washington BP today after they used nine pitchers in last nights OT blowout. The Nats should be leaving Fedde in as long as possible and that is something the Brew Crew can take advantage of. Hiura has 13 home runs on 164 AB’s this season and hits .323 ISO/.442 wOBA. He has double digit MLB DFS points in six of his last eight games.

Second Base Austin Nola ($2,500 FD) Uh oh. I like some Mariners today. Nola will get the lefty long reliever Thomas Pannone for the majority of the game. He has also been bumped up to third in the batting order. Nola has three home runs in 44 AB’s vs southpaws. Pannone has a 6.39 ERA. I am going to invest in some of this Mariners MLB DFS value at very low ownership today.

Honorable Mentions: Bo Bichette

Third Base: Rafael Devers ($4,200 FD) Get ready for fireworks in Boston vs Ty Blach (13.94 ERA) Devers hit lefties well at .279 ISO/.388 wOBA and is going to be in the heart of the Boston lineup who has 7.5 implied runs. I’m stacking the Red Sox today.

Third Base: Kyle Seager ($3,500 FD) has eight home runs off lefties in only 87 AB’s this year. He hits them at .267/.337/.575 and gets Thomas Pannone who I am not afraid to target, even if the Mariners offense isn’t particularly intimidating. Seager has been hot lately too. He has a hit in 11 games straight with six home runs in the same time frame.

Short Stop: Xander Bogaerts ($4,200 FD) is another Red Sox bat to roster vs Blach. He hits lefties at .279 ISO/.388 wOBA with eight home runs on the season. The Red Sox are getting to Blach (13.94 ERA), you just got to pick the right ones.

Short Stop: Trae Turner ($3,900 FD) is getting it done every night and is only priced at $3,900. He is batting lead vs Chase Anderson (3.78 ERA) who has been fine, but he is going to be asked to stay in the game longer today and I can see it falling apart for him. The Nationals probably didnt sleep so well after losing the way they did last night in extra innings. I expect them to be motivated for revenge today.

Outfield: JD Martinez (4,200 FD) vs is lefty is always something you need to consider. When he is vs a bad lefty you just lock him in. Ty Blach is pitching in Fenway today. He has a 13.94 ERA and 2.71 WHIP. WOOF. In he last three starts he has not made it past the fourth inning and gave up 16 runs. JD has 14 homers on the season vs left hander and he is getting another one today.

Outfield: Christian Yelich ($4,700) gets the worn out Nationals BP today too. He is elite with 30 HR on the season and hitting .405 ISO/.502 wOBA. Not much analysis needed. #AlwaysYelich.

Outfield Value: Tim Lopes ($2,500 FD) is batting lead off for the Mariners today. Why do I care? Because the long reliever is a Lefty and Lopes hits them .308/.357/.615. The Mariners put him up top for a reason today and he will hit value at $2,500. Also no one will own him, except for us.

Honorable Mentions: Aristides Aquino, Randal Grichuk

Teams with Highest IRT

Fantasy Team Stack: Boston Red Sox**

vs. LHP Tyler Blach (BOS): UPDATE

**Low Risk

Back to the Red Sox we go! No line out from Vegas yet but it’s safe to assume that Boston will carry the biggest implied run total on today’s slate. Same song and dance, the Red Sox face the worst bullpen and starting pitching rotation in all of baseball. Ty Blach is a career dumpster fire and carries a 13.94 ERA, 7.67 FIP, and 6.29 SIERA through 10 innings pitched this season. History tells us Blach has been fairly decent to lefties but I won’t hesitate to play Devers. Guy’s like J.D. Martinez and Mookie Betts are a priority for me. The Red Sox continue to hit well, slashing to a .373 wOBA, .272 ISO, and 130 WRC+ for the month. Massive chalk here but I feel fine eating it.

Preferred Plays: J.D. Martinez ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), Mookie Betts ($4300 FD|$5300 DK), Sam Travis ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), and Andrew Benintendi ($3700 FD|$4500 DK). Also consider Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5400 DK. Chris Owings ($2200 FD|$2200 DK) for big salary relief.

Fantasy Team Stack: New York Mets

vs. RHP Glenn Sparkman (KCR): 5.80 Runs

**High Risk

Initial chalk reports this morning indicate that the Mets should attract a good bit of ownership. I can respect that at first glance with Glenn Sparkman owning a 13% K rate and 84% contact on the year. If we dig a little further we will see that other than two starts Sparkman has been very dominant to right handed batting at home. He has allowed hitters to slash to a measley .278 wOBA, .370 SLG, and .281 OBP through 57 innings pitched. I’m not advocating you to play Sparkman, there just isn’t enough strikeout upside with him and win probability is slim with Wheeler on the other side of the plate. I will likely fade the Mets here as they are rolling out seven righties.

Preferred Stack: Pete Alonso ($4200 FD|$5400 DK) , J.D. Davis ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), Michael Conforto ($3700 FD|$4700 DK), Amed Rosario ($2700 FD|$4200 DK). Joe Panik ($2400 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

Fantasy Team Stack: Milwaukee Brewers/Washington Nationals**

vs. RHP Eric Fedde (TEX): 5.50 Runs

vs. RHP Chase Anderson (MIL): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

This is another game that should attract a good bit of ownership. The Brewers and Nationals put on a 14 inning show last night combining for 29 total runs. In the meantime they both exhausted their entire bullpens and we get two pitchers who typically don’t go deep into games facing off in today’s matchup. The weather and park factor give us a boost as well. My only hesitation is a possible hangover from a quick turnaround but other than that I like both of these teams today.

Nats: Preferred Plays: Juan Soto ($4000 FD|$5200 DK), Anthony Rendon ($4300 FD|$5400 DK), Trea Turner ($3900 FD|$5200 DK), and Matt Adams ($3100 FD|$4000 DK). Gerrardo Parra ($2000 FD|$3900 DK) great for value on Fanduel.

Brewers: Preferred Plays: Christian Yelich ($4700 FD|$5600 DK), Trent Grisham ($3000 FD|$3500 DK), Keston Hiura ($3500 FD|$4000 DK), and Eric Thames ($3000 FD|$4300 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

Fantasy Team Stack: Toronto Blue Jay’s

vs. LHP Yusei Kikuchi (SEA): 5.60 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Randal Grichuk ($3200 FD|$5500 DK), Bo Bichette ($3300 FD|$4800 DK), Justin Smoak ($2700 FD|$3600 DK) and Derek Fisher ($2600 FD|$4000 DK). Also consider: Teoscar Hernandez ($2900 FD|$4100 DK).

Fantasy Team Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers**

vs. LHP Max Fried (ATL): 4.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Will Smith ($3600 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Turner ($3700 FD|$5000 DK), A.J. Pollock ($3300 FD|$4400 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5800 DK) and Kyle Garlick ($2300 FD|$3600 DK). Jedd Gyorko (2000 FD|$3700 DK) for min price on Fanduel.

Pitching

  1. Jack Flaherty RHP (STL): 3.90 Runs
  2. Tony Gonsolin RHP (COL): 5.30 Runs
  3. Mike Clevinger RHP (CLE): 4.90 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

MLB DFS Team Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Hector Noesi (MIA): 7.80 Runs

**Low Risk

I hope all of you considered my advice yesterday when I said to fade Coors. Three runs from the Rockies isn’t a good fantasy output but that brings us to today. I am all over the Rockies. They face Hector Noesi, who has struggled with his splits his entire career. He has only pitched 11 innings this season, but owns a 8.18 ERA, 7.58 FIP, and 5.29 SIERA. He struggles where we need him to, allowing right handed batters to slash to a .387 wOBA, .640 SLG, and .321 OBP. Limited sample, but even in years past Noesi has always struggled to righties. The Rockies are slashing to a .338 wOBA, .196 ISO and 92 WRC+, just above their season averages. I will have a nice chunk of exposure to the Rockies tonight.

Preferred Stack: Trevor Story ($4500 FD|$5700 DK) , Charlie Blackmon ($4700 FD|$5700 DK), Nolan Arenado ($4600 FD|$5300 DK), Ryan McMahon ($3700 FD|$4700 DK). Also consider: Dom Nunez ($3000 FD|$3700 DK) and Raimel Tapia ($3300 FD|$4500 DK).

MLB DFS Team Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. RHP Asher Wojciechowski (BAL): 7.00 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Last night I faded Coors for Boston and it worked out pretty well. Today I will be doing the exact opposite and will be fading Boston. I’m not saying they aren’t in a good spot, cause it is the Orioles and their bullpen is awful as we all know. I’m not inclined to attack Wojcie with his respectable 27.5% K rate, although he has struggled in recent outings. My hope is the Coors letdown yesterday will drive ownership down and people will gravitate to this game instead. The Red Sox are hovering right around their season averages, slashing to a .349 wOBA, .217 ISO, and 113 WRC+ for the month of August.

Preferred Plays: Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5100 DK), Rafael Devers ($4400 FD|$5600 DK), and Mookie Betts ($4100 FD|$5200 DK), and Andrew Benintendi ($3700 FD|$4500 DK)

MLB DFS Team Stack: Minnesota Twins**

vs. RHP Ariel Jurado (TEX): 6.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Did somebody say two Coors Fields in one slate? I am all over the Twins tonight. An excellent hitting park, a bad pitcher, and one of the best hitting teams in the league that are slashing to a .349 wOBA, .230 ISO, and 114 WRC+ for the month of August. Ariel Jurado is one of, if not the worst pitcher on tonight’s slate. Jurado owns a 5.31 ERA, 4.80 FIP, and 4.96 SIERA. He has a 44% GB rate coupled with a .314 BABIP. Jurado also has the lowest K rate on the slate at 17% and he is facing the fourth best team in MLB in terms of strikeout percentage. It’s a hot one in Texas today, folks. Load up on the MIN bats.

Preferred Plays: Max Kepler ($4000 FD|$5100 DK), Eddie Rosario ($4000 FD|$5400 DK), Luis Arraez ($3100 FD|$4800 DK), and Miguel Sano ($3500 FD|$5400 DK). Also consider: Jorge Polanco ($3800 FD|$4900 DK) and Jason Castro ($2700 FD|$4000).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB DFS Team Stack: San Francisco Giants**

vs. RHP Taylor Clarke (ARI): 4.85 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Alex Dickerson ($3200 FD|$5500 DK), Mike Yastrzemski ($3300 FD|$4800 DK), and Stephen Vogt ($2700 FD|$3600 DK). Also consider: Evan Longoria ($3200 FD|$4400 DK) and Kevin Pillar ($3400 FD|$4300 DK).

DFS Team Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers**

vs. RHP Mike Foltynewicz (ATL): 5.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Edwin Rios ($2400 FD|$4000 DK), Matt Beaty ($2600 FD|$2400 DK), Justin Turner ($3600 FD|$4900 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5800 DK) and Corey Seager ($3400 FD|$4300 DK).

Pitching

  1. Jacob deGrom RHP (NYM): 3.20 Runs
  2. German Marquez RHP (COL): 4.50 Runs
  3. Dinelson Lamet RHP (SDP): 4.75 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s 15-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

Teams with Highest IRT

DFS Team Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Sandy Alcantara (COL): 7.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

The Rockies unsurprisingly come in with the highest implied run total on the slate. They happen to be heating up again over the last month and are slashing to a .347 wOBA, .194 ISO, and 98 WRC+ against RHP. Sandy Alcantara has been fairly decent this year, owning a 4.44 ERA, 4.87 FIP, and 5.65 SIERA. I feel like this game can go either way. It will either be a low scoring pitcher’s night between Gray and Alcantara, or it will be a one sided blowout from the Rockies. Obviously the Rockies are the chalk play but Jon Gray is in a decent spot here despite the ballpark. The Marlins are still priced fairly cheap so they make for a good value stack, but I do prefer Jon Gray.

Preferred Stack: Charlie Blackmon ($4600 FD|$5500 DK), Daniel Murphy** (Way too cheap) ($3000 FD|$4100 DK), Ryan McMahon ($3600 FD|$4700 DK), and Trevor Story ($4400 FD|$5700 DK). Obviously Nolan Arenado ($4400 FD|$5400 DK) is in play but the salaries on this team are too high for both so I prefer Story.

DFS Team Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. RHP Aaron Brooks (BAL): 8.10 Runs

**Low Risk

Another sad day where I have to pick on my Orioles but it is warranted with how they’ve performed this season. The Orioles are the worst team in the league in terms of run differential at -243 and their bullpen is absolutely atrocious, ranking dead last in the league in terms of efficiency. Aaron Brooks will pave the way for that stellar bullpen, owning a 6.35 ERA, 6.13 FIP, and 4.82 SIERA. In addition to his poor season averages, he is allowing 2.36 HR/9 innings and 40% FB rate. The Red Sox are slashing to a .353 wOBA, .216 ISO, and .345 BABIP in the month of August. The Red Sox are another pricey stack but nonetheless in a great spot and a team that I favor more than the Coors chalk.

Preferred Plays: Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5300 DK), Rafael Devers ($4300 FD|$5600 DK), Mitch Moreland ($3200 FD|$4500 DK), and Mookie Betts ($4100 FD|$5200 DK). You should also consider: J.D. Martinez ($4300 FD|$5100 DK) and Marco Hernandez ($

DFS Team Stack: New York Yankees

vs. RHP Aaron Civale (CLE): 5.40 Runs

**High Risk

The Yankees let a lot of people down last night with the Indians breaking their spirit in the top of the first inning. They theoretically should bounce back tonight, but the pitcher they are facing (Civale) has had great outings in his first three starts in the bigs and has maintained a sub 3.00 ERA through his time in A ball. The Yankees are very expensive and I feel there is some uncertainty with this matchup. Obviously the Yankees have raw power and talent, but any time you’re facing a pitcher for the first time it can go either way. Nonetheless, the Yankees are slashing to a .350 wOBA, .276 ISO and 117 WRC+ against RHPs right now. Civale allowed one run and four hits while striking out five batters across six innings against the red hot Twins in his last start. Yankees are a fade for me tonight.

Preferred Plays: D.J. LeMahieu ($4300 FD|$5000 DK), Gio Urshela ($4400 FD|$5300 DK), Gleyber Torres ($4200 FD|$4800 DK), and Gary Sanchez ($4100 FD|$4500 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

DFS Team Stack: Tampa Bay Rays

vs. LHP Daniel Norris (DET): 5.00 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Tommy Pham ($3600 FD|$4300 DK), Travis d’Arnaud ($3100 FD|$3900 DK), and Jesus Aguilar ($2700 FD|$3600 DK). Mike Brosseau ($2300 FD|$3700 DK) and Matt Duffy ($2500 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

DFS Team Stack: Toronto Blue Jays

vs. LHP Wade LeBlanc (SEA):UPDATE

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Cavan Biggio ($3900 FD|$4000 DK), Rowdy Tellez ($2200 FD|$3500 DK), Randal Grichuk ($3300 FD|$4100 DK), Vlad Guererro Jr. ($3300 FD|$3900 DK) and Bo Bichette ($4100 FD|$4800 DK). Also Consider Teoscar Hernandez ($3000 FD|$4000 DK).

DFS Team Stack: New York Mets

vs. LHP Mike Montgomery (KCR): 5.20 Runs

Preferred Plays: Pete Alonso ($4000 FD|$5100 DK), J.D. Davis ($3100 FD|$4800 DK), Michael Conforto ($3500 FD|$4800 DK), and Amed Rosario ($2500 FD|$4000 DK).

  2. Noah Syndergaard RHP (NYM): 3.80 Runs

This Sunday August 11th slate is all about landing the right bats. Follow my stud and value plays and lock in the MLB DFS Picks of Destiny.

Check out our Data Driven Projections for FanDuel Hitters for Premium Gold Members.

Catcher: Christian Vazquez ($2,700 FD) has gone deep seven times in 111 at bats this season. He is .257 ISO/.370 wOBA. Although he is not my favorite Red Sox bat (JD Martinez) he is going to have his opportunity to help clear the bases vs Patrick Sandoval in his second big league game this season. Sandoval has a 6.42 ERA and a 11.6% walk rate in AAA this year. Vazquez helps round out MLB DFS Red Sox stacks.

Catcher Value: Wilson Ramos ($2,500 FD) struggled basically all season but turned it on recently. In his last seven games he is hitting .316/.632 .SLG with two home runs. Opposing pitcher Aninbal Sanchez has been fine (3.67 ERA) but he can get hit. He has given up a at least a run in every game since May 29th. I don’t love the play honestly, but at $2,500, on a hot Mets team, it may be worth a MLB DFS shot.

Honorable Mention: Matt Weiters, Nick Dini

First Base Stud: Freddie Freeman ($4,400 FD) is hitting third behind two of my favorite bats today in Albies and Acuna. He has 11 hits in his last six games and gets the Marlins bullpen today. Hector Noesi pitches for the Marlins and he is gonna go down fast (more analysis under Braves bats listed below). Freeman is hitting .342/.684 .SLG in August. A small bonus is I tend to like bats that have also hit in a home run derby in the park they are playing in before, which Freeman has done in Miami.

First Base Value: Sam Travis ($2,900 FD) is hitting .241 ISO/.346 wOBA with four home runs in 54 ABs vs lefties this year. He should be batting fifth and gets the platoon advantage with the Red Sox. Opposing pitcher Patrick Sandoval (6.42 ERA in AAA) is in for a long (or short) day at Fenway. (see JD Martinez below)

Second Base: Ozzie Albies ($3,800 FD) has been thriving out of the two hole recently. He takes on Hector Noesi and the Marlins in what I expect to be a high scoring Braves day. Noesi has a 9 ERA this season (small sample size) with a 5.35 ERA on his career. Braves are one of my top stacks today. Albies is hitting .467/.844 SLG/1.333 OPS in August.

Second Base Top Value: Aledmys Diaz

Second Base Value: Starlin Castro ($2,200 FD) is just too cheap. He scored 75.1 FanDuel points in his last THREE games (I bet you didn’t know that). I do like Mike Foltynewicz pitching for the Braves today, and think they get the win, but I may be forced to take the value with Castro. At $2,200, you don’t need much for MLB DFS value.

Honorable mentions: Jose Altuve, Jeff McNeil, Rougned Odor

Third Base Base: Gio Urshela ($4,300 FD) of the Yankees has six home runs in five days. Over the last 15 days he is batting .467/1.067 SLG. Trent Thornton (5.33 ERA) is on the mound today and my guess is he didn’t sleep so well last night knowing who is he to face today. Yankees lost their last two in Toronto and only put up six runs total. My bet is they put enough on the board today to ensure a win and keep their playoff momentum building. If it ain’t broke…

Third Base Value:  Nothing under 3k I like at all.

Honorable Mention: Josh Donaldson (to round out Braves stack), Alex Bregman

Short Stop: Carlos Correa ($3,900 FD) has six double digit MLB DFS fantasy outings in his last seven games hitting .368/.737 SLG with two homers. Asher Wojciechowski (R) is on the mound for the Orioles and does have some strike out ability however he has also given up nine runs in his last nine innings. The Astros just put up 23 runs last night so the odds are not in Asher’s favor today.

Short Stop Value: Didi Gregorious ($3,200 FD) is too cheap. Before yesterdays goose egg he was on a six game hit streak. I expect the Yankees to put up a lot of runs today on Trent Thornton and DiDi is batting third (check lineup when it drops). Gregorious hits better on the road .308 vs .200 and is in a good bounce back spot this afternoon.

Honorable Value: Johan Camargo, Charlie Culberson $2,200

Outfield Stud: Ronald Acuna Jr ($4,400 FD) has 14 homers agains the Marlins in 33 career games. As a Braves fan, I know he hates the Marlins (thank you Jose Urena) and wants to take them deep every AB. He is also HOT right now scoring double digit FanDuel points in nine of his last 11 ABs. During that span he also has seven home runs. He faces Hector Noesi and the Marlins bullpen. The last, and only start, for Noesi this year he gave up five runs in five innings. Acuna lock button.

Outfield Stud 2: JD Martinez ($4,500 FD) mashes lefties and gets Patrick Sandoval today. He had a respectable outing vs the Reds his last start only surrendering two runs in five innings with eight K’s, but that isn’t going to happen again today. Sandoval has a 6.42 ERA and a 11.6% walk rate in AAA this year. Martinez hits lefties better than anyone on the Sox and carries a .400/.576 .SLG/1.333 OPS on the SEASON.

Honorable Mention: Michael Conforto, Mike Tauchman, Yordan Alvarez, Max Kepler

Outfield Mid: Aristido Aquino ($3,600) has to be mentioned after hitting three homers just last night. In his brief MLB career he is hitting lefties .833 ISO/.824 wOBA. Of course these number are bit inflated because of sample size but there is not doubt the Aquino has been impressive. Southpaw John Lester (.439 ERA) is on the mound, and although not terrible, giving up multiple home runs games is in his wheelhouse. Look, Aquino isn’t going to hit three home runs again, but he will be trying for one. I do have concerns about the Cubs not pithing to him in the zone like they did late in last nights game (after he hit three bombs). Either way Aquino is getting on base. He feels safe.

Honorable Mention: Chris Owings, Cameron Maybin, Brian Goodwin

It is not easy to find the most optimum 8/5 MLB DFS Stack. Thereare a handful of seemingly inexperienced and vulnerable pitchers to target onthe slate, but batters are always in danger of not faring as well as hoped whenthey have not seen much of a starter before. Plus, some of the better hittingteams don’t always make it easy for us to build stacks with them because ofseveral top hitters being priced very high. Despite those challenges, we’rehere to identify the best teams to stack for Monday.

Top 8/5 MLB DFS Stack: Atlanta Braves: Jake Odorizzi settled down in his last start, but that was because he faced Miami. Atlanta is fifth in MLB team batting over the past week  and that’s good enough to attack Odorizzi with. Adam Duvall pinpoints here at $4200 as he is hitting .385 with four homers and six RBI over the past week. Ozzie Albies ($4300) is hitting .300 over the past week. Josh Donaldson is just $4200 and has five RBI in the past week. Freddie Freeman can easily fit into this 8/5 MLB DFS Stack at $4900 to cap it all off.

Boston Red Sox 8/5 MLB DFS Stack: Mike Montgomery has been hit hard in two of his past three starts. The Red Sox have a good opportunity to bounce back from a sweep by the Yankees here. Start building your 8/5 MLB DFS stack with J.D. Martinez ($5,100 on DraftKings) and Xander Bogaerts will be worth the $5300 tag. Then fit in Christian Vazquez at $4200 and you can get Michael Chavis for $4,300. Martinez is hitting .391 over the past week with two homers and four RBI. Vazquez is hitting .316 during that span. Bogaerts has cooled off lately so you can consider Mookie Betts as your other top anchor at $5500.

Baltimore Orioles 8/5 MLB DFS Stack: This is not as crazy as it may seem as an 8/5 MLB DFS Stack when you consider Masahiro Tanaka has allowed 32 runs in his last six starts, allowing four or more in four of them and five or more in three. Trey Mancini has nine RBI over the past week and leads the way here at $4900. Renato Nunez has been cold over the past week but can rebound and has to be in any Orioles build at $4300. Hanser Alberto is hitting .333 in the past week and can be a salary saver at $3,800. Jonathan Villar also deserves strong consideration at $4700 as does Anthony Santander at $4,600. The prices here are friendly enough that you can possibly fully stack from this game, building a Yankees mini-stack around your Orioles core..

Mini Stack: New York Yankees: We would love to build a four-man 8/5 MLB DFS stack here, but most of the prices of the top hitters are near or above $5,000. Still, against Gabriel Ynoa you have to go for Aaron Judge at $4,600 and get one more Yankees bat in there for good measure. Mike Tauchman and Brett Gardner give you platoon splits and exposure for under $5,000. If you can find a creative way to get four top Yankee bats in a lineup, they should be your prime stack, but the pitching outlook for value plays is not too good tonight, especially on a two-pitcher site.

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s eight game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

MLB Stack: Houston Astros

vs. RHP Zach Plesac (CLE): 5.30 Runs

**Low Risk

Zach Plesac is on the mound in Cleveland this evening and he has had a pretty good rookie campaign thus far. He sports a 3.10 ERA, 5.14 FIP, and 5.21 SIERA. Through expected regression his 3.10 ERA will come closer to his FIP and SIERA. Plesac also has tremendous splits, only allowing righties to slash to a .304 wOBA, .425 SLG, and .293 OBP. Despite the great averages put forth by Plesac he still only has a K rate of 18.1%, one of the lowest on today’s slate. Houston is the second best team in the league in regards to striking out, averaging only 7.23 per game. The Astros are red hot vs. right hand pitching right now, slashing to a .374 wOBA, .264 ISO, and 140 WRC+.

Preferred Stack: George Springer ($4500 FD|$5600 DK), Alex Bregman ($3800 FD|$5200 DK), Yordan Alvarez($4000 FD|$5500 DK), Jose Altuve ($4200 FD|$5100 DK), and Michael Brantley ($4100 FD|$5100 DK).

MLB Stack: Texas Rangers

vs. LHP Wade LeBlanc (PLR) (SEA): (Update)

**Moderate Risk

Thankfully the Coors game falls on the early slate so we don’t have to worry about that. We do get Coors south in Texas, which has quickly become one of the more prolific hitting parks in MLB this season. There’s no doubt this Rangers lineup is just not the same without Joey Gallo in it. The Rangers are slashing to a lowly .288 wOBA, .170 ISO, and 70 WRC+ for the month of July. Despite these poor hitting averages they get to face Wade LeBlanc at home. LeBlanc owns a 4.79 ERA, 5.17 FIP, and 4.69 SIERA. He is allowing 1.85 HR/9 and holds a terrible K rate of 17.6%. LeBlanc gave up three earned runs and struck out five over five innings pitched the last time he faced the Rangers at home.

Preferred Stack: Danny Santana ($3600 FD|$5300 DK), Elvis Andrus ($3000 FD|$4300 DK), Shin-soo Choo ($3200 FD|$4800 DK), and Hunter Pence ($3500 FD|$4700 DK). Roughned Odor ($2800 FD|$4400 DK).

Honorable Mention

MLB Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. LHP Ryan Yarbrough (TAM): 7.00 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: J.D. Martinez ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5100 DK), Rafael Devers ($4300 FD|$5300 DK), and Christian Vazquez ($2600 FD|$3900 DK).

MLB Stack: Philadelphia Phillies

vs.RHP Jeff Samardzija (SFG): 5.35 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Bryce Harper ($4200 FD|$4300 DK), Rhys Hoskins ($4000 FD|$4200 DK), Cesar Hernandez ($2700 FD|$3400 DK) and Adam Haseley ($2300 FD|$3400 DK).

Pitching

  1. Jose Berrios RHP (MIN): 3.30 Runs
  2. Mike Minor LHP (TEX): UPDATE
  3. Jacob deGrom RHP (NYM): 3.50 Runs

This Friday July 26th slate is all about landing the right bats. Follow my stud and value plays and lock in the MLB DFS Picks of Destiny.

MLB DFS Bats: Yankees Bats Look To Bounce Back In Boston

Position Rankings and Values

Check out our Data Driven Projections for FanDuel Hitters for Premium Gold Members.

Catcher: Mitch Garver ($3,700 FD, $5,400 DK) and the Twins have put up 39 runs the past 4 games. Garver boasts a .322 IS0 and .395 wOBA vs right handed pitchers and is getting a hot bat lately. The opposing pitcher Dylan Cease does have some K potential but that doesn’t scare me in this matchup. Cease has given up a home run in every start of his young career which has helped contribute to his 6.19 ERA (small sample size). Garver is a great play at a position where I am having trouble finding much I like.

Catcher Value: Chance Sisco ($3,100 FD; $4,100 DK) is batting .291 ISO/.408 wOBA vs righties, and is at a reasonable price point on a thin position today. Griff Canning is all but guaranteed to give up multiple runs, even to the Orioles. Sisco comes through with a big swing every now and then and because of that, I’ll take him as my value one off today at extremely low ownership

First Base Stud: Joc Pederson ($3,600 FD; $4,700 DK) heads to Washington tied with Cody Bellinger for most home runs hit vs Righties on the Dodgers squad. This season Joc is hitting .387 ISO/.313 wOBA/.910 SLG vs right handed pitching. While opposing pitcher Anibal Sanchez’s stats are respectable, with 3.80 ERA/1.35 WHIP, he really has had an unusually easy schedule. Joc helps Bellinger and the Dodgers put the hurt on the Nationals tonight.

First Base Value: Sam Travis ($2,500 FD; $3,000 DK) is cheap and he hits lefties in a game with a 11 run team total. He has 2 homers in 30 ABs and bats .233 ISO/.325 wOBA vs southpaws. If he gets the start, he is worth a MLB DFS value play, especially if you stack the Red Sox.

Second Base: Gleyber Torres ($4,000 FD; $4,900 DK) The Yankees were embarrassed last night at Fenway when they gave up an all time series high run total (19) to the Boston Red Sox. They will be locked in vs the rival tonight. Torres is batting .305 vs righties, with a .394 wOBA, .233 ISO and .546 SLG. Torres contributes in multiple ways, if he isn’t the one hitting it in the bleachers he will be getting runs and RBI’s. Andrew Cashner is in for a short night here. He has a 7.36 ERA and giving up multiple homers is kinda his thing.. Yankees delivery in a big way.

Second Base Honorable Mention: Max Muncy (with Dodgers stacks)

Shortstop Stud: Xander Bogaerts: ($3,700 FD; $5,000 DK) Batting .315 with 23 homers and 80 RBI this season. He is the second best lefty hitter on the team, behind J.D. Martinez, and also hits behind him in the starting lineup. As far as BVP goes, Bogaerts checks that box too, with a .364 ISO, .380 wOBA vs the opposing James Paxton.

Shortstop Mid Range: Didi Gregoriuos ($3,700 FD; $5,100 DK) If there is anything I remember from playing DFS in years past it is play Didi when he gets hot. I fully expect Yankees to give Cashner nightmares tonight and Didi’s bat has recently come alive. He has a .371 wOBA and expect him to do his part on my Yankees stacks.

Third Base Stud: Yuli Gurriel ($4,000 FD; $4,400 DK) has four homers in his last six games. The Astros are almost at full health again and it is showing. Gurriel is batting .233 ISO/ .364 wOBA and faces Jack Flaherty who has avoided a blowup lately. However his opponents have not been particularly scary in the Reds, Pirates, Giants and Mariners. I think the Astros knock Flaherty out relatively early or at least bend him until he breaks before getting a quality start.

Third Base Value: Renato Nunez ($3,200 FD; $4,200 DK) This guy is hitting value every night and no one ever plays him. He has a .234 ISO/.340 wOBA vs righties and Griff Canning has been getting knocked around a bit lately. Nunes has three homers in his last five games and hasn’t put up a fantasy goose egg since July 14th. He has a safe floor with upside which is what we look for in MLB DFS.

Third Base Value: Maikel Franco ($2,700 FD; $3,400 DK) faces a quality pitcher in Mike Soroka BUT Franco is a vet who loves to break the Braves hearts. This is a low owned, value, gut play. Franco has just as many homers this year for the Phillies vs right handers as Bryce Harper and is batting .250/.443 SLG/.754 OPS. He is capable of a big night.

Outfield Stud: JD Martinez ($4,100 FD; $4,500 DK) He owns lefties with a .405 ISO/.494 wOBA. This series feels like it is going to continue to be explosive and I expect the Red Sox do their part on the scoreboard. I like the Xander/Martinez/Devers mini stack

Outfield Stud: Cody Bellinger ($4,700 FD; $5,600 DK). There is nothing not to like here with Bellinger. Batting .338 with a .371 ISO and .708 SLG vs righties, he is one the league’s most lethal bats. Anibal Sanchez has been pitching over his head lately, largely due to a “cupcake” schedule, and his numbers start to regress today. The last time Sanchez hasn’t gotten popped for a long ball it was all the way back on May 29th. I think the Dodgers pour it on here.

Outfield MidRange: Anthony Santander ($3,300 FD; $4,500 DK) is yet another Oriole doing damage recently and just not seeing a price increase. I have been playing him almost every night the past week or so and haven’t been disappointed once. I’ll keep rolling him out until the price catches up. Santander has four homer runs in his last six games and carries a .263 ISO with a .387 wOBA vs lefties. I’ll play him at no ownership for $3,300.

Outfield Value: Alex Verdugo ($2,900 FD; $4,000 DK) He is cheap, and batting in between two of my favorite plays on the day (Joc and Bellinger). He holds his own with 10 homers .202 IS0/ .350 wOBA vs righties. See above for why I think the Dodgers get to Anibal Sanchez.

Jason Mezrahi and Mark Paquette discuss the Main FanDuel MLB DFS Slate on the 7/21 MLB DFS Podcast. They break down the main slate on FanDuel. Its your typical Sunday Slate schedule so listen closely to who they like. We got a touch decision on finding the right pitching. The question remains, Do you we pay up for Snell or look for value with guys like Cease or possibly even Marquez. We also have some weather concerns to deal with so make sure you follow along with Mark as he gives our listeners a preview of all weather for this Sunday slate of fantasy baseball games.

7/21 MLB DFS Podcast Stacks

We have to find bats and Jason thinks we should head back to a Boston Stack. Listen closely though because the second stack is tougher to figure out. When your’e done listening to our 7/21 MLB DFS Podcast, please check out our premium weather blog to stay up to date on your busy Sunday
