Atlanta Falcons

Week Five was insanely high scoring – probably the highest I’ve ever seen. Hopefully you checked out the stacks in last week’s post and got your NFL DFS GPP lineups across the pay-line.

It’s another excellent week to use 50% or more of your bankroll towards single entry cash games. Please check out our Cash Game Checkdown before you set your DFS lineups for Sunday. But, lets get to work on Stick’s Stacks for Week Six.

The purpose of this weekly article is to identify team/game stacks that we are going to use for an NFL DFS GPP. For those of you that don’t know, a “team stack” is simply multiple players from the same team (I rarely ever use more than three players on a given team).

A “game stack” is similar, except we are going to use players from both teams in a given game. Focusing on team stacks and game stacks is incredibly useful in the NFL DFS GPP environment. That being said, let’s get to this week’s top NFL DFS stacks for DraftKings!

Top NFL DFS GPP Game Stacks

Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals (51)

Both of these defenses are historically bad and both of these offenses play at a very high pace. The total in this one opened up at 47 points and was quickly bet up by both the public and “sharper” sports gamblers. Were going to follow suit and attack this game.

Both quarterbacks are projected to be under 10% owned and there really isn’t any heavy chalk associated with this game at the moment. I’ll keep an eye on ownership projections and advise if there is anything notable, but regardless, I don’t think there is any reason to fade either side of the ball in this one.

Atlanta Falcons

I’m not going to get very cute with the Atlanta Falcons like I did last week when touting Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley. This is a game where I think Julio Jones, Freeman, and Hooper do most of the damage. If you want to get contrarian and save some salary, Ridley and Sanu are fine.

  • Matt Ryan ($6,400)
  • Julio Jones ($8,000)
  • Austin Hooper ($5,000)
  • Devonta Freeman ($5,800)
  • Mohamed Sanu ($4,500)
  • Calvin Ridley ($5,700)

Arizona Cardinals

  • Kyler Murray ($6,500)
  • Larry Fitzgerald ($6,100)
  • Christian Kirk ($5,200)
  • David Johnson ($7,600) – I hate that price, probably a fade for me besides in MME formats. Watch out for his health as well – Edmonds may be a free square is Johnson is out.
  • KeeSean Johnson ($3,900)

Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs (55)

Not a whole lot to say about this game besides shoot-out city. Personally, I like the ATL/AZ game a bit more due to ownership reasons and I really don’t think the Kansas City pass defense is that bad. Having said that, a total of 55 points is tough to ignore.

We have some injury concerns on the Kansas City offense that we’ll need to keep an eye on, so it outside of Mahomes/Kelce, we would be shooting at the hip when picking another Chiefs’ pass catcher. Not to mention the three-man timeshare at the running back position in KC… All in all, it seems like more of a headache when building a KC stack unless you just keep it simple and lock in Mahomes with Kelce.

One thing I do like is the Houston defense allowing the most receptions to opposing running backs and Damien Williams is very affordable.

Houston Texans

  • DeAndre Hopkins ($7,400)
  • Carlos Hyde ($4,400)
  • DeShaun Watson ($6,700)
  • Will Fuller ($6,000)
  • Duke Johnson ($4,100)

Kansas City Chiefs

  • Patrick Mahomes ($7,500)
  • Travis Kelce ($7,000)
  • Damien Williams ($5,700)
  • Mecole Hardman ($5,300)
  • Byron Pringle ($3,500)
  • Sammy Watkins ($6,200) – Looks like he’s highly questionable to suit up.
  • Demarcus Robinson ($5,900)

San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams (50.5)

This game has sneaky shootout potential in terms of DFS ownership. I anticipate most players will focus on the two games above (and for good reason), but this game in LA should be a good one. The pace will be there and it’s a contrarian game to attack in DFS.

San Francisco 49ers

  • Jimmy Garoppolo ($5,700)
  • George Kittle ($5,200)
  • Marquise Goodwin ($4,500)
  • Matt Breida ($5,100)
  • Tevin Coleman ($4,400)
  • Dante Pettis ($3,900)

Los Angeles Rams

  • Cooper Kupp ($7,100)
  • Robert Woods ($5,700)
  • Jared Goff ($6,100)
  • Todd Gurley ($6,200) – Injury concerns – make sure he is active on Sunday!
  • Gerald Everett ($3,600)
  • Brandin Cooks ($5,400) – Great value, but may miss this one with a concussion.

Top NFL DFS GPP Team Stacks

Baltimore Ravens

Highest implied total on the slate so you have to give them consideration. I would usually back off on this one due to the run-heavy gamescript Vegas is hinting at, but remember Week One? Lamar Jackson and Hollywood Brown went off! They are always capable of hooking up for a few deep balls despite the blowout concerns in this game.

  • Lamar Jackson ($6,900)
  • Marquise Brown ($6,200)
  • Mark Ingram ($6,600)
  • Mark Andrews ($4,800)

Dallas Cowboys

They got embarrassed last week and should come out firing early against a terrible Jets team as a whole. I love Elliott and I love Amari Cooper this week. Tyron Smith should return as well this week – that is always great news for the Cowboys’ offense.

  • Amari Cooper ($7,000)
  • Ezekiel Elliott ($8,500)
  • Dak Prescott ($6,200)
  • Michael Gallup ($5,600)
  • Jason Witten ($3,900)

Week Four was a big one for the Win Daily team (many thanks to rostering a lot of Los Angeles Rams and Nick Chubb). Unfortunately, the game stacks in last week’s post didn’t really work out, but our top team stack paid dividends in a NFL DFS GPP.

It’s a bit of an ugly slate this week, so I do advise DFS players to heavily consider playing more cash games this week. Please check out our Cash Game Checkdown before you set your DFS lineups for Sunday. But, lets get to work on Stick’s Stacks for Week Five.

A “game stack” is similar, except we are going to use players from both teams in a given game. Focusing on team stacks and game stacks is incredibly useful in the NFL DFS GPP environment. That being said, let’s get to this week’s top NFL DFS stacks!

Top NFL DFS GPP Game Stacks

Arizona Cardinals @ Cincinnati Bengals (47.5)

With the pace both of these teams play at and the combined struggles on defense, I was quite surprised to see a relatively mediocre total of 47.5 points. I’m going to remain confident this game shoots out and that multiple players in this game are worth targeting in your NFL DFS GPP lineups.

Arizona Cardinals

  • Kyler Murray ($6,300)
  • David Johnson ($7,500)
  • Larry Fitzgerald ($6,000)
  • KeeSean Johnson ($3,500)
  • Trent Sherfield ($3,000)

Cincinnati Bengals

  • Joe Mixon ($6,100)
  • Andy Dalton ($5,700)
  • Tyler Boyd ($6,500)
  • Auden Tate ($3,500)
  • Tyler Eifert ($3,300)

Atlanta Falcons @ Houston Texans (49)

Both offenses have been extremely disappointing of late and enter Week Five in a perfect “get-right” spot. There really aren’t a whole lot of games that scream shootout in Week Five, but this game should be one of them. Both teams have been playing at a high pace and we always love Matt Ryan and company in a dome.

It looks like the Houston offense will be popular this weekend and for good reason, but I love getting exposure to the Falcons’ offense in Week Five for NFL DFS GPP style of tournaments.

Atlanta Falcons

  • Mohamed Sanu ($4,200)
  • Matt Ryan ($5,900)
  • Devonta Freeman ($5,300)
  • Julio Jones ($7,700)
  • Austin Hooper ($4,500)

Week 4 in the NFL is all about finding the best opportunities for guaranteed production with high upside. Follow my stud and value plays and lock in the NFL DFS Picks of Destiny.

David Jones took down the Week 3 Sunday Night Showdown in his second tournament takedown in two days!

David Jones won 100K on FanDuel! Read about it here

I want to start off this article by saying you must have the absolute nuts to win the top prize up top on large field GPPs. There is no room for mistakes with so many entries in these contests. If you think you are going to win it all by playing a combo of the top seven guys in the player pool, you are not. If a combo of a bunch of guys you have heard of before is indeed the best scoring lineup, you will most likely tie for first. If that sounds good to you, then go for it. It will be profitable if you nail it, but for me I like to be a little different on these slates. I will be making multiple teams and taking long shots on a few cheap guys.

Leaving cash on the table in these NFL DFS contests is fine too. This makes your lineup even more unique and lower owned because a lot of amateurs will be pulling their hair out to use their entire salary.

That all being said, I have looked at every possible player that can get on the field and listed my picks below.

The NFL DFS Week 4 Sunday Night Showdown Picks

MVP: Ezekiel Elliott ($14,000 FD, $17,400 DK)

I know where the Cowboys offense is going to come from and that is Zeke, Dak and Coop. Playing Cowboys’ showdown slates is literally my favorite scenario. All I do is lock in the big three and build around them. Zeke has run for 100 + yard the past two games. He costs $500 less than Alvin Kamara and like him to outscore him straight up. I would expect a lot of ownership on Kamara based on his fantastic game vs. Seattle but he is not my top priority today.

MVP Pivots: Dak, Cooper

Again, I think you lock in all three. If you have multiple lineups get one with each at MVP.

NFL DFS Flex Options:

Listed in order of preference, with price factored in.

  1. Dak Prescott ($15,500 FD, $11,200 DK) He is the best quarterback in this game. The offense will run through him obviously. Lock him in.
  2. Amari Cooper ($13,500 FD, $10,200 DK) He has a “sore” ankle but I think he will be just fine. The questionable tag may help suppress his ownership. He has four touchdowns in three games. He is elite and has the better quarterback throwing to him. If you decide you don’t trust his ankle, you have to pick another Cowboys pass-catching option.
  3. Alvin Kamara ($14,500 FD, $11,800 DK) Stud RB who runs and is utilized in the pass game. If you can fit him, he is an excellent play. I am not sure that he will be on my main just because he will not fit with my top three Cowboys. Do not confuse this with he is a bad play. He is not, I am just picking my poison with Dallas tonight.
  4. Michael Thomas ($11,500 FD, $9,200 DK) I am surprised that he is not more expensive. He is the Saints top receiver and will be Teddy Bridgewater’s safety blanket.
  5. Jason Witten ($8,000 FD, $5,800 DK) The price is right to take a shot on Witten. I don’t mind him with Cooper as long as you roster Dak too. If you fade Cooper, I think you have to roster Witten. He will 100% be targeted in the red zone.
  6. Ted Ginn Jr ($7,500 FD, $4,200 DK) You are going to need a big play out of him to pay off, but with Smith still sidelined he will have an uptick in opportunity.
  7. Teddy Bridgewater ($13,000 FD, $9,000 DK) Don’t love him tonight but he is the quarterback and will have the ball in his hands half the game.. I think the price is a little high and I worry about Taysom Hill getting in the game when the Saints are in the red zone. Only way I play him tonight is if he fits perfectly.
  8. Jared Cook ($7,000 FD, $4,400 DK) Nice price for Bridgewater’s check down TE. UPDATE: I would move him slightly ahead of Ted Ginn.
  9. Devin Smith ($7,5000 FD, $5,200 DK) He is my top WR pivot off Cooper.
  10. Randall Cobb ($8,500 FD, $7,000 DK) He is is my second WR pivot off Cooper. He costs more than Smith and should have the same opportunity, there for I rank him slightly lower.
  11. Brett Maher ($9,000 FD, $3,800 DK) Cowboys kicker, better on DK
  12. Wil Lutz ($9,500 FD, $3,600 DK) Saints Kicker, better on DK

Punt:

  1. Latavius Murray ($7,000 FD, $3,200 DK) He is a pivot of Kamara (don’t play both)
  2. Blake Jarwin ($5,500 FD, $1,000 DK) He is a pivot off Witten (don’t play both)
  3. Taysom Hill ($6,000 FD, $2,600 DK) Cross your fingers and hope the Sean Payton drew something up for him this week. He is the Saints “Swiss Army Knife” and I am surprised we did not see him utilized more last week.

MonkeyKnifeFight.com Pick. Play this pick and get 100 percent bonus!

I like the Cowboys to win this game and I like what I have seen out of Dak lately. He should be able to get right around 300 yards tonight. He has more options to throw to and is more accurate that Teddy B. I don’t have much faith in Bridgewater tonight. He has not surpassed 180 yards in either game this season.

The NFL DFS Week 4 Thursday Night Showdown Picks

MVP: Davante Adams ($14,000 FD)

The Eagles secondary is towards the bottom of the NFL and certainly worse than the Green Bay Packers. I expect the Packers to win this game by throwing the ball. Adams has not broke out this season, but tonight is the night. Aaron Rodgers will focus heavily on his most reliable receiver in Prime Time and seal the victory for the Packers at home.

MVP Pivots: Aaron Rodgers, Marquez Valdes-Scantling

NFL DFS Flex Options:

Listed in order of preference, with price factored in.

  1. Aaron Rodgers ($15,000 FD) Rodgers in Prime Time against a poor pass defense. Lock it in.
  2. Marquez Valdez-Scantling ($11,000 FD) Green Bay Packers WR2. Looks like he has made significant strides since last season. Adams, Rodgers or MVS is you MVP.
  3. Mason Crosby ($9,500 FD) Green Bay Kicker and I expect them to score more points.
  4. Aaron Jones ($13,000 FD) I know he has a shoulder “issue” but all reports suggest he is fine and going to play. He is my fifth favorite Packer.
  5. Zach Ertz ($11,500 FD) Elite tight end that is almost guaranteed the most targets in the Eagles pass game.
  6. Alshon Jeffrey ($12,000 FD) He is the Eagles WR1 when healthy, and he looks like he is going to play.
  7. Carson Wentz ($14,500 FD) The Eagles will probably be forced to throw it more than run it.
  8. Miles Sanders ($10,000 FD) The Packers gave up 81 yards and two touchdowns to Phillip Lindsey last week. Unfortunately Sanders splits time.
  9. Mack Hollins ($8,000 FD) He has stepped up in the absence of Jackson. Might continue to get looks if Jeffrey is used as more of a decoy.

Punt:

  1. Geronimo Allison ($7,000 FD) He is cheap for GB WR3. He hasnt done much this season but things can change rapidly in the NFL. He plays in the slot for the most part, which is a good place to attack the EaglesJ
  2. Jamaal Williams ($9,000 FD) He is a little pricey. Only way he pays off is if Jones is restricted.
  3. Dallas Goedert ($5,000 FD) Just a pivot from Ertz. Don’t play them in the same lineup.

Play light tonight and save up for the week. This game might be ugly.

That all being said, I have looked at every possible player that can get on the field and listed my picks below.

The NFL DFS Week 3 Thursday Night Showdown Picks

MVP: A Rams Receiver: The Rams receivers are all lumped together in price and it is near impossible to predict which one will break out. I have ranked them below, but if you have the bankroll, I think you make three lineups and lock what I believe will be the NFL DFS Sunday Night Showdown MVP.

  1. Cooper Kupp ($12,000 FD) Goff’s favorite receiver. Got nine targets and 105 yards in last weeks game against the Saints. He scored 15.1 FanDuel points without getting in the end zone. This week, I think he finally gets a touchdown. In Week One he had 10 targets and seven receptions. All I want in NFL DFS is opportunity.

2. Robert Woods ($11,500 FD) Last week he was quite but the week before he got 13 targets and a designed run play. He is the cheapest of the bunch and will have just as much opportunity as the rest of the receiving core. By paying down a little, it allows for better players in your flex.

3. Brandin Cooks ($12,500 FD) Always a big play threat. He got in the end zone in a revenge game last week. Top tier receiver, just more expensive with the same opportunity as the other two so I ranked him third.

Whoever you don’t pick for MVP I think you need to pick at least one more in your flex spot. If you have two receivers than you probably want Goff too.

NFL DFS Flex Options:

  1. Jared Goff ($14,500 FD) I like the receivers, so I like Goff.
  2. Nick Chubb ($13,00 FD) The Rams gave up three rushing touchdowns to the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. I like the Browns to use Chubb to try and control the pace of the game and keep the Rams offense off the field.
  3. Todd Gurley ($12,000 FD) His price is too cheap for his skillset even if he gets vultured at the goal line. He is getting a lot of heat lately, but in reality he has been fine, just not putting up MVP numbers like he did two years ago.
  4. Jarvis Landry ($9,000 FD) OBJ got his last game in his return to New York. It’s time to get Landry going for 6k less.
  5. Greg Zuerlein ($10,000 FD) He is a little expensive for a kicker but I expect Rams to win the game and any time they score Big Z gets an opportunity.
  6. OBJ ($15,000 FD) I don’t think he pays it off this week, but he always has upside.
  7. Baker Mayfield (14,500 FD) He has looked rusty, but he is the QB and might connect a couple times. Don’t love it.
  8. Damion Ratley ($6,500 FD) Browns WR three and cheap

Play light tonight and save up for the week. This game might be ugly.

That all being said, I have looked at every possible player that can get on the field and listed my picks below.

The NFL DFS Week 3 Thursday Night Showdown Picks

MVP: Derrick Henry ($15,000 FD,$15,900 DK) This is an ugly game and one thing is for certain. Derrick Henry is going to get the rock. I expect the Titans to win this game and Henry is their bell cow. I am also expecting another relatively boring and low scoring Thursday night game. If it is low scoring I think it is mostly because the Jags can’t put any points on the board. If this is the case Henry will be in charge of running the clock out and marching it down the field. Derrick Henry is also the most likely player to get in the end zone.

NFL DFS Flex Options:

  1. Marcus Mariota ($14,500 FD, $10,000 DK) has looked decent enough in the opening two games. At Cleveland he threw for 248 with three touchdowns while rushing for 24 yards. Against the Colts he threw for 154 and a touchdown while rushing for 32. Jacksonville’s defense is also not really a concern for me. I would rather target them than the Tennessee Titans D. Mariota is also at least used to starting in the NFL, and I can’t say the same for Gardner Minshew.
  2. Cairo Santos ($9,500 FD, $3,600 DK) If anyone is scoring here it should be the Titans. If it is a low scoring affair kickers tend to outscore more expensive offensive options.
  3. Leonard Fournette ($13,000 FD, $9,800 DK) The Jags are going to lean heavily on Fournette, especially in the first half of the game. He has gotten an average of 14 rushing attempts in his first two games and six targets in each. I like him better on DraftKings, but with not a lot of options tonight he is a safe play on FanDuel too.
  4. Delanie Walker ($12,000 FD, $8,200 DK) is probably the best passing target for Mariota. In Week One he scoring two touchdowns on five receptions. In Week Two he had four grabs for 39 yards. We need safe options tonight and Walker is that.
  5. Dede Westbook ($8,500 FD,$7,400 DK) If the Jags are playing from behind they are going to have to attempt to throw it. Dede disappeared last week but I trust him to have a better game this week. He is a boom or bust player with big play upside.
  6. D.J. Chark ($12,500 FD, $7,600 DK) He has been the Jags’ breakout receiver this year with a touchdown in each game. He will be more popular than Dede because of this tonight. He may keep proving to be the truth for the Jacksonville offense but he is 4K more than Dede. If you need to save salary, I think you can just go down to Westbrook. I would not play them both in the same lineup tonight unless you stack with Minshew.
  7. A.J. Brown ($8,000, $5,600 FD) He had three receptions for 100 yards in Week One. In Week Two he slowed down with three receptions for 25 yards. He is not as safe as the higher priced receivers, but this is a showdown slate and we at least know he is a part of the offense.
  8. James O’Shaughnessy ($5,500 FD, $2,600 DK) He is a dart throw, but on this slate he is a pretty quality one. The Jags should be throwing in the second half and he should get a few targets at least. All he needs is one in the endzone and he is on the winning team.
  9. Josh Lambo ($9,000 FD, $3,400 DK) He scored seven and eight points in the first two games. Kickers work in low scoring games. I’ll have some shares.

Play light tonight and save up for the week. This game might be ugly.

MonkeyKnifeFight.com Pick

I think Derrick Henry is the highest scoring player in the game. I also expect Minshew to struggle vs this Titans defense in prime time and turn it over a couple times. I do not think Minshew gets a passing touchdown tonight, therefor I will take under 14.5.

MVP: Julio Jones: Julio has the highest upside on the slate. They are opening at home in a prime time spot on Sunday night. The Eagles defensive backs are not elite and Julio can enforce his will. It feels like Julio exceeds 100 yards tonight in NFL DFS.

MVP Pivot: Zach Ertz: There are a lot of mouths to feed on the Eagles but I know Ertz is going to get his targets. If the Philly offense is not dumping it down to one of their three backs there is a high probability the Ertz will get the first look from Wentz. He is a top three TE in the league.

NFL DFS Flex Options:

  1. Matt Ryan: Very safe at home, and with Devonta Freeman looking rusty, I believe Ryan will be more inclined to throw to Jones, Ridley, Sano and Hooper.
  2. Carson Wentz: I expect a high scoring game and Wentz will have the ball in his hands half of it. He has plenty of receivers to dish it out to and even Sproles and Sanders can catch the ball as well. He looked great in Week One, throwing for 313 yards and three touchdowns.
  3. Calvin Ridley: He is Ryan’s second option after Julio. I think he has a breakout season this year. You can feel safe he will get targeted. He scored a touchdown last week when the the entire Falcons offense was struggling. I think they bounce back. I would not play him with Julio.
  4. Darren Sproles: He is a pass catching back vs a team you want to target with pass catching backs. Dalvin Cook owned the Falcons last week, and Sproles is my pick to return the best NFL DFS value in the Eagles backfield.
  5. Matt Bryant: Kicking in a dome, at home. If the Falcons can’t convert, out comes Money Matt.
  6. DeSean Jackson: He exploded last week for 154 yards and two touchdowns. He can always make a big play. If he gives me a third of that production, I will be happy.
  7. Alshon Jeffery: Another elite WR for Wentz. I wouldn’t play with DJax, but one of these guys should get in the end zone.

Week 1 in the NFL is all about finding the best opportunities for guaranteed production with high upside. Follow my stud and value GPP plays and lock in the NFL DFS Picks of Destiny.

David Jones won 100K on FanDuel!Read about it here!

Check back for updates closer to lineup lock on Sunday.

Quarterbacks:

Stud Quarterback: Baker Mayfield ($7,900 FD; $6,400 DK)

I fully expect the Browns to come out with guns blazing for their home opener. Baker Mayfield is going to try and feed the Big 3 in OBJ, Landry and Chubb. The Titans will be tasked with trying to stop this new and improved offense with big expectations. The home field advantage will be real on Sunday. The Browns win big and Baker shows off. See Chubb and OBJ below

Stud Pivot: Patrick Mahomes

Mid Quarterback: Jameis Winston: ($7,500 FD; $6,600 DK)

The 49ers defense is bad and they travel across the country to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jameis Winston doesn’t exactly have a stable of running backs to rely on so I am expecting more of a passing attack here. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard are all big play threats that will help carry Winston. I also love NFL DFS quarterbacks that are not afraid to run when the play breaks down and Winston has proven that he can get yards on the ground too. He should be good for mid 20s NFL DFS FanDuel points here with upside for more.

Mid Pivot: Jared Goff

Value Quarterback: Josh Allen ($6,900 FD; $5,600 DK)

You are going to see me play him a lot this year, especially if his price stays this low. Allen runs the ball and that is huge for me at quarterback in NFL DFS. Last season he RUSHED for eight touchdowns and 631 yards. There was admittedly a lot to be desired in the passing game but he did throw for over 2,000 yards with 10 touchdowns. Reports out of camp suggest he has improved with his decision making and accuracy. He has also looked sharp (most of the time) during the preseason. The Bills have improved around their young receiving corps with the offseason additions of vets like John Brown and Cole Beasley which only benefits Allen. If I’m punting in a GPP with a cheap QB it is going to be Josh Allen against the New York Jets.

Running Backs

Stud RB: Dalvin Cook:  ($7,400 FD; $6,000 DK)

For NFL DFS you want to target running backs who are not splitting time and have a guaranteed workload. Dalvin Cook will be the lone back, in a game I predict to be high scoring. He also gets targeted regularly in the passing game. The Vikings only kept FOUR wide receivers on their roster so there is going to need to be passing production from the backs and tight ends. Last year the Falcons were TERRIBLE against pass catching RBs and I don’t think they have made enough adjustments this year to completely fix the problem. It should be worth noting that the Falcons had a lot of injuries last year and get back Keanu Neal and Deion Jones, however that doesn’t get me off DC. Cook is the 10th highest priced running back and is in arguably one of the best matchups. He plays at home and is fully healthy (which was his problem last year). Cook will be on my main GPP team. The price and matchup are just too good to ignore.

Stud RB: Nick Chubb ($7,400 FD; $6,400 DK)

I am HIGH on the Browns Week 1. The atmosphere in Cleveland is going to be electric. They have high hopes for this team and Baker and the Boys are going to score as many points as possible just to prove they belong. I love the Wide Receivers and QB, but also Mr. Chubb. Nick is going to get a full workload rushing as well as a few targets from Baker. Duke Johnson’s departure as the pass catching back should help slightly. The Titans defense is not one to be feared. They are going to be spread thin trying to defend the pass and this should cause them to not be 100% focused on stopping the run. Chubb should get near 20 touches, several Red Zone opportunities, and will get a few check down targets. The opportunity is there and expect the former college star to break out in his second season in the NFL (much like his old Georgia teammate Todd Gurley did in his sophomore year).

Update: Stud RB: Christian McCaffrey ($8,900 FD; $8,800 DK)

He does it all. He should get at least 15 rush attempts and double digit receiving targets is a real possibility too. I like him better on DraftKings because the of the PPR structure. He is expensive but that is because he is safe with very high upside. With all the value on the week one slate it shouldn’t be a problem fitting him in. He will go against the Rams who were not known to stop the run last year. They fly in from the West Coast all the way to Carolina to try and make up for their embarrassing Super Bowl loss. Win, lose or draw, McCaffrey is going to be a constant on the Carolina Offense yet again this season and is as safe as it gets at running back.

Wide Receiver

Stud WR: Odell Beckham Jr ($8,200 FD; $8,100 DK)

Update: He is high risk because of a lingering hip issue. If he is on the field I think he will be going full speed. His ownership will be lower than normal because of the injury concern. If OBJ is not hindered by his hip, he is in a great spot. Don’t go all in here but maybe get a share on larger field GPPs. Keep an eye on the news leading up to kickoff.

The Browns have a new toy in OBJ and they are going to make sure he gets his in the home opener. The argument can be made that he has the best hand(s) ever in NFL history (Yes, I mean that). There is nothing more that he is going to want to do then erupt for a huge game to not only impress his new Browns fans but rub the offseason trade right in the Giants face. Baker and OBJ are going to be dynamic together. This is a showtime QB with a showtime receiver. If Beckham Jr. doesn’t come down with a touchdown it will not be for a lack of effort. He will be getting plenty of targets and designed plays to get him in the endzone. If you want to save the $ you can go down to his old LSU counterpart Jarvis Landry. With the Titans defense having to focus more on Beckham, Landry will find himself with a little more space to operate.

Stud Pivots: ADAM THIELEN, Robert Woods

Mid WR: Mike Williams ($6,400 FD; $5,300 DK)

Here is a guy no one will own. The Chargers lost their franchise RB to a holdout and are now going to have to find a way to keep their remaining injury prone backs healthy. Austin Ekeler WILL unfortunately go down with injury this year and the Chargers know it. I expect a mix of both him and Justin Jackson for the time being, with a larger focus on the receiving game. The Chargers WR one, Keenan Allen, has not played in a single preseason game with a nagging ankle injury which moves Williams up to wide receiver 1B. His price is too cheap for the role he should play against the Colts. Quarterback Philip Rivers told Eric D. Williams of ESPN that he expects Williams to be a “Big Part” of the Chargers offense this season. Let’s get in on him before his price starts to rise and his ownership goes up. He is my favorite mid range Milli Maker wide receiver.

WR Midrange Pivots: Calvin Ridley, Jarvis Landry

Value WR: Dede Westbrook ($5,900 FD; $4,800 DK)

I’m not really sure why the Chiefs are only favored over the Jags by 3.5 points. I was expecting at least a touchdown. Anyway, the Jags should be playing from behind here. I know people think the Jags are an elite defensive unit because of what they did in 2017, but they can also get blown up (see 2018) and who else is better than blowing up defenses then Pat Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs? Why does this matter? Because Nick Foles should have to air it out in the second half and Westbrook is emerging as his favorite target. Fellow Jags WR Marqise Lee is coming back from missing the entire 2018 season and I don’t expect him to come out of the gate with a large workload expectation. D.J. Chark is an athletic freak but has yet to make the leap of being a consistent NFL option. Chris Conley is a new addition, however there is no reason to believes he will excel more in the Jacksonville offense than the lethal Chiefs offense where he was last year. All of these uncertainties at wide receiver just funnel me more towards Westbrook. I’ve seen him win GPPs before and this feels like a good week to get some NFL DFS shares.

WR Punt: Demetrius Harris

Tight End

Stud TE: Travis Kelce ($7,800 FD; $7,100 DK)

Jalen Ramsey is going to shadow Hill and Kelce is the next best passing option. He is the top TE in the NFL and has the MVP throwing to him. The Chiefs also use their TE as an offensive threat more than any other team in the league. The Jaguars are not going to double cover him and that is going to be a mistake. Kelce should finish the week as one of the top scoring TEs, but he is also the most expensive. . At a position that regularly delivers zeros you can feel safe that Kelce is going to get you enough to keep you alive in GPPs. If we get lucky he will be much lower owned than he should be just because people will not want to target the Jags D.

Mid TE: O.J. Howard ($6,500 FD; $5,000 DK)

Jameis Winston shouldn’t have much resistance vs the San Francisco 49ers defense. Mike Evans is their top receiving option but O.J.. Howard is on the verge of a real NFL DFS breakout season. He has impressed all camp and has the trust of his quarterback. Adam Humphries was shockingly targeted second most on the Bucs last season and now is in Tennessee. DeSean Jackson was targeted fourth most and he now is also gone. These two departures should help funnel more looks towards the star Tight End that the Bucs know they have.

Value: Austin Hooper ($5,500 FD; $3,200 DK)

Don’t sleep on the Falcons offense. I like Hooper’s price. I like his role in this new Steve Sarkisianless offense. I like that Matt Ryan is a vet who spreads it around and doesn’t force throws to his superstar(s). I like that the Vikings will be least focused on Hooper with Julio, Ridley, Freeman and Sanu on the field. I like that this should be a high scoring game. I like his low ownership. I like Hooper as a punt.

Defense

  1. Chargers
  2. Eagles
  3. Seahawks
  4. Ravens
  5. Update: Browns
  6. Cowboys

NYG @ CIN

Giants

Giants’ coach Pat Shurmur has been vocal on not playing his starters in the preseason. Eli Manning has played just two series in two games thus far. It looks to be the Daniel Jones show again in Week 3. All signs indicate Jones should see a ton of playing time after an overall impressive performance throughout the preseason. Do not expect Jones to be necessarily chucking the ball up and down the field, but rather the Giants putting him in a position to succeed. Using short routes to the backs and tight ends. T.J. Jones has led the receiver group in targets (10), touchdowns (2), and ranks second in the NFL through the preseason in yards/route run (3.47) on a minimum of 10 targets. Jon Hilliman is interesting at running back after receiving 16 rushing attempts in Week 2, which was second-most in the NFL last week.

Bengals

The Bengals defense has allowed 469 passing yards over the past two weeks with a 105.4 passer rating. Expect to see a ton of running back work from Rodney Anderson. Trayveon Williams has been lost to injury, and because of that Anderson expects to finally be unleashed against the Giants. The Giants have allowed 103 rushing yards over the past two weeks. Receiver John Ross is unlikely to play, while Ryan Finley is strongly making his case to be Andy Dalton’s backup. His three passing touchdowns are tied for the most in the preseason, and in passing yards, he ranks eighth. Damion Willis leads the team in receiving yards (63) and routes run (51) over the preseason.

BAL @ PHI

Ravens

Apparently, the Ravens’ offense has been tearing up the Eagles’ defense during the joint practices.

https://twitter.com/jamisonhensley/status/1163912432819015680

Usually, you want to be hesitant to play starters in the preseason game, but using Ravens is the sharp play because the Ravens value winning even in the preseason. They have won 15 straight preseason games. Lamar Jackson and Miles Boykin create a great stack in DFS NFL Preseason. Boykin has 12 targets in the preseason which is twice as much as any other receiver on the Ravens. This game could show us the most we see of the new-look Ravens offense prior to the regular season.

Eagles

There will no be Carson Wentz on Thursday night. With so many injuries at the tight end position, Joshua Perkins needs to be on the radar for preseason DFS. Though he only received two targets last week, he tied the most routes run (19) on the team in Week 2 of the preseason. Josh McCown has looked sharp in the few days since being added to the roster so don’t be surprised to see him get playing time in this NFL preseason game. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside has seen 10 targets throughout the preseason, so he is a receiver to continue to look to in your preseason DFS lineups.

WAS @ ATL

Redskins

Receivers Trey Quinn and Paul Richardson are both out for Thursday along with tight end Jordan Reed. Great chance that running back Derrius Guice plays on Thursday. Along with that coach Jay Gruden has ultimately stated that he is not in a rush to name a starting quarterback. Receiver Darvin Kidsy should continue to see work as he has seen more than twice as many targets (9) than any other receiver.

Falcons

Dan Quinn has ruled out the following guys: Damontae Kazee, Russell Gage, Kaleb McGary, Foye Oluokun and Kendall Sheffield. Tight end Jaeden Graham has been making some noise. Graham led the Falcons in receiving yards against the Jets with four catches for 55 yards. His eight receptions rank second-most on the team behind only receiver Christian Blake during the preseason.

CAR @ NE

Panthers

Starters are in! Cam Newton and the entire starting lineup is set to play against New England. Head coach wants to play his starters via Panthers.com “I like it just because it’s a measuring stick. Coach (Bill) Belichick, the way his teams play and prepare, they are going to test you,” Rivera said. “It’s an opportunity to truly gauge where we are and what we need to be better at.” Areas of note that Rivera highlighted: The fourth, fifth and sixth wide receiver. “What’s the combination of guys we’re going to go into games with?” Rivera said. And the rookie running backs. “We’ve really got to see Jordan Scarlett and Elijah Holyfield a lot. We have to see what those guys are made of and if they have the ability to help us.”

https://twitter.com/DNewtonespn/status/1163856798757134339

Patriots

It has not yet been confirmed whether or not Tom Brady will play in the NFL Preseason game in Week 3. However, if history is any indicator Brady will play. For more than a decade, the quarterback has played in the preseason dress rehearsal. At wide receiver Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman, and Demaryius Thomas are unlikely to play. Question marks also surround N’Keal Harry, Maurice Harris, and Phillip Dorsett, who are dealing with injuries that sidelined them for last Saturday’s matchup with the Tennessee Titans. So again firing up preseason standout Jakobi Meyers continues to be a strong buy along with Braxton Berrios. At the tight end, there won’t be Matt LaCosse or Stephen Anderson, so snaps will be divided among Ryan Izzo, Lance Kendricks, and Eric Saubert. Ben Watson is most likely to get the start on Thursday night with his 4-week suspension looming.

GB @ OAK

Packers

Oh, Canada! The Green Bay starters are projected to play in the first quarter according to Matt LeFleur. Still, the playing time is a question mark making them difficult to trust in this NFL Preseason matchup. The team will more than likely lean on caution in terms of starters playing long into Thursday night. Depth wide receiver Allen Lazard leads the team in targets (7) and yards per route run (4.29) on the Packers through the first two weeks. This is Aaron Rodgers on Lazard: “I think he’s had a really nice camp. He’s made a bunch of plays,” Rodgers said on Monday. “He’s always showing up on special teams, he does things the right way in practice. I think he’s put himself in a position to legitimately be playing for all 32 teams.”

Aaron Jones should also play, but I would expect a healthy dose of Dexter Williams again with Jamaal Williams just recently returning from his own hamstring injury.

https://twitter.com/Packers_Writer/status/1164245375718322176

Raiders

The preseason hasn’t been overly kind to the Packers defense as they have given up 26 points in each of their first two NFL Preseason contests. So this could potentially bode well for the Raiders, who could use a nice showing Thursday night amid the Antonio Brown saga. Throughout the preseason and training camps, the two biggest names have consistently been Keelan Doss and Darren Waller. Doss has led the team in receptions and targets, while Waller made his preseason debut in last week’s preseason game. Additionally, at running back DeAndre Washington has flashed with work in the preseason as he continues to fight for a roster spot. His upside in the passing game makes him a very intriguing preseason DFS play.

https://twitter.com/RaidersBeat/status/1163831117730013185

JAX @ MIA

Jaguars

For the Jaguars Marqise Lee, Alfred Blue, Geoff Swaim, Josh Oliver, and Charles Jones will not play. Nick Foles will play, but for how long is up in the air. Tre McBride continues to be a receiver to target throughout preseason DFS. He leads the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in the first two weeks of the preseason. Leonard Fournette may also see limited action so the work could be loaded onto Devante Mays, who has led the team in rushing attempts through the first two weeks.

Dolphins

Ryan Fitzpatrick looks to get the start with the head coach claiming Josh Rosen is just not ready. Brian Flores has said that this does not mean that Fitzpatrick is the entrenched starter for Week 1. He is going to see more action in this game than in the first two preseason games. Flores wants to see how Fitzpatrick works with the first-team offense during the third preseason game. Should Fitzpatrick play well, that would essentially lock him in to start Week 1 against the Ravens.

Fitzpatrick will be without DeVante Parker, Albert Wilson, and Kenyan Drake. The weapons that Fitzpatrick might end up working with include Preston Williams, Patrick Laird, and Kenny Stills.
