Minnesota Twins

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s 14-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

Daily Fantasy Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. RHP Dylan Cease (CWS): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Dylan Cease is newer to the rotation, coming up for his first start right after the All-Star break. He has struggled with the long ball so far, allowing at least one home run in each of his three starts. He has given up three or more runs to each team he has faced and the teams that he has faced (DET, KCR, and TBR) aren’t exactly the most potent offenses. He carries a 6.19 ERA, 5.41 FIP, and 4.98 SIERA to start off his career in the bigs. The Twins are red hot, slashing to a .346 wOBA, .200 ISO, and 115 WRC+ against righties over the last two weeks. They have scored seven or more runs in each of their last five games.

Preferred Stack: Jorge Polanco ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), Nelson Cruz ($4200 FD|$4900 DK), Eddie Rosario ($4100 FD|$4800 DK), and Miguel Sano ($3600 FD|$4800 DK). Differentiate with Jason Castro ($2700 FD|$3900 DK) Luis Arraez ($2900 FD|$4000 DK).

Daily Fantasy Stack: New York Yankees

vs. RHP Andrew Cashner (BOS): 5.80 Runs

**Low Risk

I rarely find it necessary to go with the presumed chalk on a slate of this size, but I will have plenty of exposure to the Yankees given all the value we have at pitcher today. Andrew Cashner carries a 4.19 ERA, 4.65 FIP, and 5.02 SIERA. He has had a pretty good year for his standards, but regression reared it’s ugly head in his last start and I think he continues to sink tonight. Despite his success, he has struggled with right handed batters. They are slashing to a .350 wOBA, .519 SLG, and .327 OBP. He has allowed 36 earned runs and 13 home runs over 54 innings pitched to them. New York Yankees batters are slashing to a .344 wOBA, .187 ISO, and 114 WRC+ against right handed pitching recently. If you’re looking for a value stack, this is not the place.

Preferred Plays: Gleyber Torres ($4000 FD|$4900 DK), Edwin Encarnacion ($4500 FD|$5500 DK), Aaron Judge ($4700 FD|$5500 DK), DJ Lemahieu ($4200 FD|$5400 DK) and Didi Gregorius ($3700 FD|$5100 DK). I also love Mike Tauchman ($3000 FD|$4800 DK) for value. Cameron Maybin ($2500 FD|$3700 DK) will mostly go overlooked I would imagine. He’s a nice way to differentiate in large field tourneys if you’re playing multiple lines.

Daily Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers

vs. RHP Anibal Sanchez (WSH): 5.45 Runs

**Low Risk

Anibal Sanchez provides us a weakness against left handed power and that isn’t going pan out well for him against the Dodgers this evening. The Dodgers have been mashing right handed batting over the last two weeks, slashing to a massive .399 wOBA, .306 ISO, and 152 WRC+. These are averages that simply cannot not be ignored. Anibal struggles quite a bit to left handed batting, allowing them to slash to a .342 wOBA, .494 SLG, and .338 OBP. He has allowed 23 earned runs and nine home runs over 38.2 innings pitched against them. Anibal Sanchez’s xFIP of 5.20 suggests he is due further regression. I believe the Dodgers obliterate this guy.

Preferred Plays: Max Muncy ($4100 FD|$5100 DK), Joc Pederson ($3600 FD|$4700 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5600 DK), and Alex Verdugo ($2900 FD|$4000 DK).

Honorable Mention

Daily Fantasy Stack: New York Mets

vs. RHP Dario Agrazal (PIT): 5.25 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Pete Alonso ($4100 FD|$5000 DK), Michael Conforto ($3500 FD|$4400 DK), and Jeff McNeil ($4300 FD|$5700 DK). Dominic Smith ($2300 FD|$4300 DK) and Robinson Cano ($2700 FD|$3900 DK) for value.

Pitching

  1. Zack Greinke RHP (ARI): 3.20 Runs
  2. Griffin Canning RHP (LAA): 3.75 Runs
  3. Joey Lucchessi RHP (SDP): 3.50 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s eight-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

Daily Fantasy Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. LHP J.A. Happ (NYY): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

J.A. Happ has had some issues this season to say the very least. He rolls into tonight’s game carrying a 4.86 ERA, 5.11 FIP, and 4.64 SIERA. Those are some of the worst averages Happ has ever posted over his career. Happ has struggled vs. both sides, allowing batters to slash to a .335 wOBA, .476 SLG, and .320 OBP. The only drawback I can see is Happ’s home/road splits. He has been significantly better on the road with batters slashing to a .286 wOBA, .380 SLG, and .281 OBP. Given how much power Minnesota is showing recently, I highly doubt Happ will have a dominant road performance. The Twins are slashing to a .316 wOBA, .277 ISO, and 95 WRC+ over the last two weeks

Preferred Stack: Max Kepler ($3700 FD|$5200 DK), Eddie Rosario ($3800 FD|$5100 DK), Nelson Cruz ($4100 FD|$4400 DK), Miguel Sano ($3600 FD|$4500 DK), and Mitch Garver ($3600 FD|$5100 DK)

Daily Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers

vs. RHP Jamie Barria (LAA): 5.55 Runs

**Low Risk

We have a small sample size to go off of with Barria, but there is no doubt he has struggled. He carries a 7.36 ERA, 4.62 FIP, and 4.33 SIERA over 33 innings pitched. Barria is allowing batters to slash to a .383 wOBA, .541 SLG, and .361 OBP. He has allowed 27 earned runs and six home runs thus far. The Dodgers are absolutely hammering right-handed pitching right now. They are slashing to a massive .430 wOBA, .368 ISO, and 172 WRC+ over the last two weeks.

Preferred Plays: Max Muncy ($4100 FD|$5100 DK), Joc Pederson ($3600 FD|$4600 DK, and Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5800 DK). Alex Verdugo ($3000 FD|$4200 DK) and A.J. Pollock ($3700 FD|$4400 DK) for differentia

Honorable Mention

Daily Fantasy Stack: Atlanta Braves

vs. RHP Brad Keller (KCR): 5.60 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Josh Donaldson ($4000 FD|$5100 DK), Freddie Freeman ($4000 FD|$5300 DK), Ronald Acuna Jr. ($4300 FD|$5700 DK), and Ozzie Albies ($3400 FD|$4300 DK).

Pitching

  1. Shane Bieber (CLE): 3.90 Runs
  2. Noah Syndergaard (NYM): 3.80 Runs
  3. Reynaldo Lopez (CHW): 4.40 Runs

Your preferred MLB DFS Stacks for the Tuesday slate.

  1. Braves: Atlanta remains at home and gets a reeling Royals team and mediocre lefty Danny Duffy. All the Braves bats are in play in MLB DFS Stacks against this southpaw and the bad bullpen.
  2. Nationals: This was going to be my stack last night before they cancelled the game with plenty of warning for DFS purposes. I see no reason not to think they are still in a great spot and I will fire this stack up tonight against Peter Lambert and the rest of the depleted Rockies pitching staff.
  3. Twins/Yankees: I will combine both of these teams here for MLB DFS Stacks as their lineups are not altogether different. Both have a 1-9 that makes the pitcher work, with no breaks or places to catch their breath. We saw what happened last night in this hitter’s park that is Target Field, there is no reason in my mind to expect anything different tonight.
  4. Diamondbacks: The Snakes, besides being my favorite animal, are smack-dab in the middle of the N.L. playoff race and get to take their swings against newly returned from the IL Dylan Bundy and the rest of the bad Orioles bullpen. We have seen Arizona blow teams up several times over the past few weeks, and there is no reason to believe that they can’t do that again tonight. They are very useful among MLB DFS Stacks.

MLB Fantasy Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. LHP C.C. Sabathia (NYY): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

I’m going to get down to the nitty gritty here with Sabathia against the Twins. C.C. Sabathia has changed his pitching repertoire with age and has essentially left his fastball by the wayside. He has turned to his cutter and sinker and has fared well to left handed batters. Righties, on the other hand have been a problem for Sabathia. He is allowing 2.00 HR/9 and 40% hard contact to them. On the road, Sabathia is allowing righties to slash to a .421 wOBA, .642 SLG, and .388 OBP over 30 innings. He has allowed 21 earned runs and nine home runs over that same span. Minnesota is showing a ton of power recently, slashing to a .316 wOBA, .277 ISO, and 95 WRC+ over the last two weeks.

Preferred Stack: Mitch Garver ($3400 FD|$5400 DK), C.J. Cron ($3400 FD|$3900 DK), Nelson Cruz ($4100 FD|$4400 DK), Miguel Sano ($3600 FD|$4500 DK), and Jonathon Schoop ($3000 FD|$3900 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Arizona Diamondbacks

vs. RHP Aaron Brooks (BAL): 5.65 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Aaron Brooks carries a 4.69 ERA, 5.59 FIP, and 4.70 SIERA on the season. He is allowing batters to slash to a .329 wOBA, .462 SLG, and .311 OBP. Small sample size in the road, but Brooks is allowing lefties to slash to a .396 wOBA, .612 SLG, and .348 OBP while surrendering 4 home runs across 10.1 innings. Brooks sticks to mainly three pitches: two seamer, four seamer, and slider. What do all of those pitches have in common? Atleast four batters through this Arizona order slash a .250 or better ISO to every pitch in Brook’s arsenal. After going through a slump, Arizona bats look to be back on track. They are slashing to a .348 wOBA, 207 ISO, and 111 WRC+, some of their best averages on the season.

Preferred Plays: Ketel Marte ($4000 FD|$5200 DK), Eduardo Escobar ($3900 FD|$5300 DK, and Christian Walker ($3500 FD|$4800 DK). Jake Lamb ($2700 FD|$4100 DK) and Carson Kelly ($2700 FD|$4300 DK) for value.

MLB Fantasy Stack: Houston Astros

vs. RHP Homer Bailey (OAK): 5.30 Runs

**Low Risk

What’s the over/under that Homer Bailey makes it out of the first three innings in this matchup? Houston bats are rolling as of late, yet I see them still catching fairly low ownership. The Astros are right on par with their season averages, slashing to a .346 wOBA, .195 ISO, and 118 WRC+. Homer Bailey has had a fairly decent season, but he does struggle to right handed power. Righties are slashing to a .334 wOBA, .420 SLG, and .341 BABIP. Despite Homer having one of his better seasons, I still favor the Astros at home and look to them today in a three or four man stack in tournaments.

Preferred Plays: Alex Bregman ($4400 FD|$5000 DK), Yuli Gurriel ($3900 FD|$4600 DK), Yordan Alvarez ($4100 FD|$5100 DK), and Michael Brantley ($3900 FD|$4500 DK). Also consider: Jose Altuve ($4000 FD|$4500 DK).

Honorable Mention

Fantasy MLB Stack: Cleveland Indians

vs. LHP Ryan Borucki (TOR): 5.15 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Oscar Mercado ($3600 FD|$4900 DK), Jordan Luplow ($2800 FD|$4200 DK), Carlos Santana ($3900 FD|$4300 DK), and Jose Ramirez ($3800 FD|$4200 DK).

Pitching

  1. Sonny Gray RHP (CIN): 4.70 Runs
  2. Mike Clevinger RHP (CLE): 3.90 Runs
  3. Daniel Ponce De Leon RHP (STL): (UPDATE)

This Saturday July 20th slate is all about landing the right bats. Follow my stud and value plays and lock in the MLB DFS Picks of Destiny.

MLB DFS Stacks: Houston, Jurado has a problem.

Saturday Stacks

Houston Astros vs Ariel Jurado (R)

This one is easy. The last time Jurado faced the Astros he gave up five runs in four innings, at home, and the Stros didn’t even homer once. Welp, Houston is going deep today plus getting the runs. This feels like a spot where Texas will want to stretch Jurado until he breaks which is what I am banking on. Are they chalk? Probably. Why? Because they are most certainly getting to Jurado. Don’t overthink it. Lock in the MLB DFS points and let’s get our advantage elsewhere. Ride with Houston and shake your head at the 80% of people who faded them. Alvarez (.342 ISO, .463 WOBA), Springer (.313, .424), Bregman (.259, .402), Gurriel (.211, .349), Brantley (.208, .370).

I don’t hate Chirinos, but I like everyone above better. I would use him to round out a stack if I needed too.

Minnesota Twins vs Brett Anderson (L)

This is a MLB DFS spot that I am attacking. The Twins handle lefties well, especially mediocre ones at home. This one might slide under the radar too. Garver (.415 ISO, .515 WOBA), Cruz (.356, .411), Sano (.333, .385), Cron (.326, .458), Schoop (.246. .382), and Kepler (.200, .376). You’ll notice most of these players are towards the back of the lineup which will just lower ownership, however they are indeed the best lefty hitters on the team. The Twins have not been on fire lately but this feels like it can be the time for them to bust out. Get some.

If Cave is in he is a quality value play. He should pay off that cheap price tag.

Boston Red Sox vs Tom Eshelman (R)

My guess is a team with deep playoff aspirations didn’t like getting blown out by the rebuilding Baltimore Orioles last night and this is a great bounce-back spot. Eshelman is also nothing to fear in a great MLB DFS hitting environment. In his two starts this year he has struck out seven and 0. Which Eshelman shows up Saturday? I think the latter. Devers (.262 ISO, .426 WOBA), Xander (.246, .414.), Betts (.231, .406), Vasquez (.205, 348). JD or Chavis are fine too if you have the space.

Honorable Mention: Arizona Diamondbacks

Another team that mashes lefties, is at home, and is hot: Kelly, Lamb, Vargas, Escobar, Marte, Ahmed.

Full Disclosure: I am going to the Braves game and will have a stack for gigs. They face a pitcher they rostered last year in Sanchez, and literally have the book on him. I trust Snit to roll out an optimal lineup. Could be fireworks. Acuna, Swanson, Freeman, Donaldson. #HomerPick

OF. Cruz (3,900 FD, 4,500 DK), Kepler (3,600 FD, 4,700 DK)

OF. O’Neil (2,700 FD, 4,100 DK), Locastro (2,400 FD, 3,900 DK) both are way too cheap

I primary used FanDuel when building optimal MLB DFS lineups. It seems to be where the value is today.

When first glancing at tonight’s main slate you may focus in on the big-time aces taking the mound, but on a second look and you will see some good spots for some MLB DFS Stacks for July 18th. Check out four spots worth stacking in your FanDuel and DraftKings entries for tonight.

Sign up NOW forWIN DAILY Premium Gold right here!Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!

Minnesota Twins

The Athletics’ Mike Fiers is a guy you can use MLB DFS Stacks against. He is allowing a 40.9% flyball rate and owns a 5.25 SIERA with a low 7.8% swinging strike rate. Not only is Fiers just a guy, but also the Twins’ lineup is stacked with hitters that destroy righties. As an offensive unit they have a .226 ISO and a .341 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.

You can mix and match with the likes of: Nelson Cruz (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,500), Mitch Garver (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $5,200), Miguel Sano (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $4,600), Jason Castro (FanDuel: $2,600 DraftKings: $3,800), Eddie Rosario (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $4,800), Jorge Polanco (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,600), Jonathan Schoop (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $4,000) and Max Kepler (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,500). All of these Twins’ batters have accumulated at least a .200 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks will face the Brewers’ Zach Davies in this one. Davies has a very impressive 2.89 ERA this season. But a bit of a deeper dig suggests that regression is on its way for the Milwaukee starter. Davies also owns a 5.26 SIERA and a 4.99 xFIP. With the Diamondbacks fresh off a thumping of the Rangers this seems like an appropriate spot for MLB DFS Stacks.

Davies has struggled against batters from the left side of the plate, so stack the left-handed Diamondbacks. Our Arizona DFS stacks will need to start with Ketel Marte (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $5,300). He has an ISO north of .230 versus right-handed pitching. Another Arizona bat worth considering is of course Eduardo Escobar (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $5,200). He has an ISO above .210 versus righties in 2019.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Diamondbacks’ Merrill Kelly is allowing a 42% hard contact rate this season. The hard contact has led to a 4.87 SIERA and a 4.78 xFIP. So this is a perfect spot for MLB DFS Stacks. The Brewers crush righties. Milwaukee has five regulars that own ISOs over .200 against right-handed pitching.

The best of those five regulars, of course, is Christian Yelich (FanDuel: $4,900 DraftKings: $5,700). The outfielder has a .413 ISO and a .490 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. But don’t sleep on Keston Hiura (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $5,000), Mike Moustakas (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,700), Eric Thames (FanDuel: $2,700 DraftKings: $4,500), and Yasmani Grandal (FanDuel: $3,000 DraftKings: $4,500). All of these members of the Brew Crew have ISOs over .250 against right-handed pitching this season.

Houston Astros

The Angels’ Matt Harvey has the highest SIERA on the slate with a 5.53 mark in 2019. He also has a very high 5.25 xFIP and is allowing hard contact at an alarming rate. 41.6% of his contact allowed has resulted in hard contact so it should not surprise you that he is allowing 1.84 HR/9 this season, which is also the highest on the main slate. The Astros have plenty of batters that should take advantage of this matchup against a right-hander.

You will want Astros that bat from the left side of the batter’s box. Harvey is allowing a .399 wOBA and a crazy high 51.9% hard contact to lefties this season. Consider beginning your MLB DFS Stacks here with Michael Brantley (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,500). The outfielder has a .202 ISO and a 143 wRC+ versus righties in 2019.

With a game in Coors Field today, you know you can start your MLB DFS Stacks for July 17th with Rockies and Giants. But if you are looking to get contrarian with your DFS stacks, below we have four teams to target:

Sign up NOW forWIN DAILY Premium Gold right here!Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!

Minnesota Twins

The Mets’ Jason Vargas has been flirting with trouble all year with his 40.9% flyball rate and 41.1% hard contact rate. And the regression monster veered its ugly head in his last start. In that start, Vargas allowed six earned runs while recording a single strikeout. Look for Vargas’ descent back to normalcy continue to in this one. Not only does Vargas struggle on the road with a 5.56 xFIP but the Twins’ lineup is stacked with guys that crush lefties. As an offensive unit, they have a .214 ISO and a .362 wOBA against southpaws this season. Nine Twins with at least 53 at-bats have ISOs over .190 against lefties.

Of course, start your Minnesota MLB DFS Stacks with Nelson Cruz (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $5,100). But you can also mix and match in the likes of: Mitch Garver (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $5,400), Miguel Sano (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $4,900), C.J. Cron (FanDuel: $3,300 DraftKings: $3,700), Ehire Adrianza (FanDuel: $2,300 DraftKings: $3,500), Jake Cave (FanDuel: $2,400 DraftKings: $3,300), Jonathan Schoop (FanDuel: $2,800 DraftKings: $4,200) and Max Kepler (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,900). All of these Twins’ batters have accumulated at least a .200 ISO versus left-handed pitching.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Soxdraw Toronto’s Aaron Sanchez in this one. Sanchez has a 6.22 ERA this season, while also owning a 5.61 SIERA and a 5.39 xFIP. With the Red Sox sporting a.349 wOBA and a 114 wRC+ versus righties this season, this seems like anappropriate spot to stack some of the Boston Bombers in DFS.

Sanchez has been awful against batters from both sides of the plate, so stack the Red Sox however you please. He has allowed a .347 wOBA to lefties and a .380 to righties. But our Boston MLB DFS Stacks will need to start with Mookie Betts (FanDuel: $4,300 DraftKings: $5,400). Betts has an ISO north of .225 versus right-handed pitching. Other Boston bats worth considering are: Rafael Devers (FanDuel: $4,200 DraftKings: $5,700), Xander Bogaerts (FanDuel: $4,400 DraftKings: $5,600) and Christian Vazquez (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $4,900). These three Boston bats have ISOs above .210 versus righties in 2019.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Phillies’ Nick Pivetta has been getting hit hard this season. The righty is allowing a 42.2% hard contact rate. The hard contact has led to him allowing 2.16 HR/9. So this is a perfect spot for us to pick on him while we build MLB DFS Stacks. Especially considering the Dodgers crush righties. Los Angeles owns a .213 ISO and a .347 wOBA versus right-handed pitching this season.

With Pivetta allowing a 43.7% hard contact rate to lefties this season, we will want to target the likes of Cody Bellinger (FanDuel: $4,800 DraftKings: $5,800), Joc Pederson (FanDuel: $2,800 DraftKings: $4,600), Max Muncy (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $5,100) and Alex Verdugo (FanDuel: $3,100 DraftKings: $4,300). All of these Dodgers bats have ISOs over .200 against right-handed pitching this season.

Washington Nationals

The Orioles’ Aaron Brooks has a 4.97 xFIP in 2019. He also is allowing flyballs at a rate of 40.5% which has led to 2.04 HR/9. The Nationals have plenty of batters that should take advantage of this matchup with MLB DFS Stacks against a right-hander.

Use AnthonyRendon (FanDuel: $4,300 DraftKings: $5,500), Matt Adams (FanDuel: $2,700DraftKings: $4,400), Juan Soto (FanDuel: $4,000 DraftKings: $5,500), HowieKendrick (FanDuel: $2,600 DraftKings: $4,900), Kurt Suzuki (FanDuel: $2,800 DraftKings:$4,700) and Trea Turner (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $5,300). These battershave ISOs greater than .200 against right-handed pitching this season.

It was a strange night on Monday. In the first game of the doubleheader in Coors the Giants scored 19 runs and the two teams combined for 21 runs in an outburst that was not even part of the mains late for MLB DFS Stacks. In the second game, the Giants also won the game. But they scored two runs and the teams combined to score three. Baseball for you….

MLB DFS Stacks to Use on Tuesday

Boston: The Blue Jays are playing bad baseball and are starting Brad Waguespack. This will be his third Major League appearance this year. With the wind blowing out to left and temperatures and moisture content rising at Fenway, it seems to be a perfect night to use some Red Sox in DFS.

Rockies/Giants: Go back to the well here with your MLB DFS Stacks. You can play devil’s advocate here and say “we should have seen a 2-1 game coming after 21 runs were scored in the first game.” Well, if you said that, and followed your own advice, you are a far better DFS’er/gambler than I am. And by using that same logic tonight, 25 runs should be scored.

Nationals: A matchup with the fellow team in the mid-Atlantic is just what the doctor ordered for your MLB DFS Stacks. Not only will the Nats get some at-bats against a brutally bad bullpen in a park that greatly favors the batter, you will start off the game against Asher Wojciechowski. I am beginning to understand why the Red Sox, Yankees and Rays all won 90+ games last year and will do so again when they get to play the Jays and Orioles 19 times each. Sort of like knowing the Patriots will go 5-1 (at the absolute worst) in the AFC East each year.

Twins: speaking of bad baseball teams….ladies and gentlemen, your 2019 New York Mets! Seriously though, the Twins crush at home and against lefties and now they get Steven Matz.

7/7 MLB DFS Podcast: Making The Pitching Calls

Aaron Nola and Zach Wheeler are both coming off three good starts. Is David Price the top pick of the day? Trevor Bauer also deserves strong consideration, and you also have to think about German Marquez, who is on the road at Arizona.

For those not familiar, my name is Dan Wehr and I am a new author here at WinDailyDFS. This report will provide stacks that I recommend for today’s 13 game main slate. I’ve also included my favorite one offs and value plays.

Toronto Blue Jays

vs. RHP Dylan Bundy (BAL): 5.90 Runs

The Toronto side of this game will undoubtedly be on the chalkier side given how well the Jays are hitting and also how bad Dylan Bundy can be more often than not. Bundy carries 4.91 ERA, 5.29 FIP, and 4.38 SIERA. Bundy has nearly identical splits and neither are great. He carries an average of .336 wOBA, .470 SLG, and .323 OBP. Bundy is also allowing 2.03 HR/9 and 42% FB rate. Toronto is slashing to a tune of .412 wOBA, .289 ISO, 162 WRC+, and .603 SLG to right handed pitching over the last two weeks.

Preferred Stack: Cavan Biggio $3700 FD|$4400 DK, Eric Sogard $3300 FD|$4600 DK, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. $3800 FD|$5800 DK, Freddie Galvis $2900 FD|$4000 DK, and Justin Smoak $2800 FD|$3700 DK.

Atlanta Braves

vs. RHP Jordan Yamamoto (MIA): 5.95 Runs

Jordan Yamamoto has a fairly small sample size coming into tonight’s matchup against the Braves. He lucked out his first two starts, taking on a Cardinals team who had been pretty inefficient against right handed pitching leading up to those two games where he found success. Yamamoto carries 4.57 ERA, 5.60 FIP, and 4.96 SIERA into tonight’s matchup. He has tremendous splits carrying .206 wOBA, .145 SLG, and .258 OBP through 23 innings pitched. I expect regression to the mean and the Braves are hitting very well recently. The Braves are slashing .330 wOBA, .220 ISO, and .466 SLG over the last two weeks.

Preferred Stack: Freddie Freeman $4400 FD|$5100 DK, Ronald Acuna Jr. $4200 FD|$5200 DK, Brian McCann $2700 FD|$3400 DK, Josh Donaldson $3100 FD|$3900 DK, and Nick Markaikas $3000 FD|$3900 DK.

Washington Nationals

vs. RHP Brad Keller (KCR): 6.10 Runs

Tonight we have Brad Keller in D.C. taking on the Nationals on a very hot and humid evening. Keller carries 4.46 ERA, 4.63 FIP, and 5.39 SIERA into tonight’s game. He is pretty inconsistent but overall he looks to be decent on paper. He is only allowing 0.69 HR/9 and GB rate of 50% while only allowing 36% hard contact. His splits are identical, so we can feel good about going after guys like Anthony Rendon and Trea Turner. The Nationals are slashing to a tune of .300 wOBA, .142 ISO, and .378 SLG over the last two weeks. Look for Nat’s flyball hitters to elevate Keller’s pitches tonight.

Preferred Stack: Juan Soto $4200 FD|$5400 DK, Anthony Rendon $4400 FD|$5200 DK, Trea Turner $4000 FD|$5300 DK, and Adam Eaton $3000 FD|$3800 DK.

Honorable Mentions

Baltimore Orioles

vs. RHP Aaron Sanchez (TOR): 5.10 Runs

Preferred Stack: Chance Sisco $3500 FD|$4000 DK, Renato Nunez $3200 FD|$4100 DK, Anthony Santander $3100 FD|$3900 DK, and Trey Mancini $3600 FD|$4300 DK. Jonathan Villar on FD $3400.

Boston Red Sox

vs. LHP Gregory Soto (DET): 6.75 Runs

Preferred Stack: JD Martinez $4400 FD|$4800 DK, Xander Bogaerts $4100 FD|$5200 DK, Christian Vasquez $3000 FD|$4300 DK and Jackie Bradley Jr. $2900 FD|$3900 DK.

One-off’s and Value Plays

Tom Murphy (SEA) $2400 FD|$3700 DK, Yordan Alvarez (HOU) $4100 FD|$4600 DK, Hunter Renfroe (SDP) $2800 FD|$4000 DK, Nicholas Castellanos (DET) $3300 FD|$4000 DK, Jose Martinez (STL) $2700 FD|$3600 DK, and Dwight Smith Jr. (BAL) $2900 FD|$4000 DK.
