Teams with Highest IRT

MLB Fantasy Stack: Houston Astros

vs.LHP Jose Suarez (LAA): 5.90 Runs

**Low Risk

Jose Suarez takes the mound for the Angels tonight and he will be facing the power packed Houston Astros. Suarez has been anything but good, allowing righties to slash to a .431 wOBA, .630 SLG, and .417 OBP. He has allowed 33 earned runs across 35 innings pitched to them. Suarez struggles with the long ball, allowing 2.70 HR/9 backed by a 42% flyball and 44% hard contact rate. He has allowed at least four earned runs or more in his last four starts. Pretty steep price to pay here for the Astros, but they continue to slash above their season averages for the month of August and get another great matchup here tonight.

Preferred Plays: George Springer ($4100 FD|$5300 DK), Alex Bregman ($4200 FD|$5500 DK), Jose Altuve ($4300 FD|$5300 DK), and Yuli Gurriel ($3300 FD|$5200 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Milwaukee Brewers

vs. RHP Merrill Kelly (ARI): 5.50 Runs

**Low Risk

The Brewers come in behind the Astros for second highest IRT on the slate (as of 5 AM EST). They will face an inconsistent Merrill Kelly, who has an ERA of 5.60 on the road compared to his stingy 3.66 ERA at home. Kelly has pitched the worst he has all year in the month of August, allowing batters to slash to a .387 wOBA, .571 SLG, and .373 OBP. Milwaukee isn’t showcasing a bunch of power in their lineup right now, but they are getting on base and creating runs as indicated by their 117 WRC+ to righties over the last two weeks. I’ll take the over on this one and look for some extra base hits from the Brew Crew.

Preferred Stack: Christian Yelich ($4800 FD|$5900 DK), Eric Thames ($2800 FD|$4600 DK), Keston Hiura ($3600 FD|$5500 DK), and Mike Moustakas ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), and Yasmani Grandal ($3100 FD|$4300 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB Fantasy Stack: Cleveland Indians

vs. RHP Jakob Junis (KCR): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Francisco Lindor ($3900 FD|$5000 DK), Carlos Santana ($3700 FD|$5400 DK), and Jose Ramirez ($3400 FD|$4700 DK). Also consider: Greg Allen ($2100 FD|$3800 DK) and Yasiel Puig ($3000 FD|$4500 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. LHP Matt Boyd (DET): 5.15 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Nelson Cruz ($3800 FD|$5800 DK), Mitch Garver ($3200 FD|$4900 DK), Miguel Sano ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), and CJ Cron ($3000 FD|$4000 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Pittsburgh Pirates

vs. RHP RHP Anthony DeSclafani (CIN): 4.50 Runs

**High Risk

Preferred Plays: Josh Bell ($4000 FD|$5000 DK), Bryan Reynolds ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), Starling Marte ($3600 FD|$5400 DK), and Adam Frazier ($2600 FD|$3900 DK),

Pitching

  1. Jack Flaherty RHP (STL): 3.25 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

Fantasy Team Stack: Boston Red Sox**

vs. LHP Tyler Blach (BOS): UPDATE

**Low Risk

Back to the Red Sox we go! No line out from Vegas yet but it’s safe to assume that Boston will carry the biggest implied run total on today’s slate. Same song and dance, the Red Sox face the worst bullpen and starting pitching rotation in all of baseball. Ty Blach is a career dumpster fire and carries a 13.94 ERA, 7.67 FIP, and 6.29 SIERA through 10 innings pitched this season. History tells us Blach has been fairly decent to lefties but I won’t hesitate to play Devers. Guy’s like J.D. Martinez and Mookie Betts are a priority for me. The Red Sox continue to hit well, slashing to a .373 wOBA, .272 ISO, and 130 WRC+ for the month. Massive chalk here but I feel fine eating it.

Preferred Plays: J.D. Martinez ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), Mookie Betts ($4300 FD|$5300 DK), Sam Travis ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), and Andrew Benintendi ($3700 FD|$4500 DK). Also consider Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5400 DK. Chris Owings ($2200 FD|$2200 DK) for big salary relief.

Fantasy Team Stack: New York Mets

vs. RHP Glenn Sparkman (KCR): 5.80 Runs

**High Risk

Initial chalk reports this morning indicate that the Mets should attract a good bit of ownership. I can respect that at first glance with Glenn Sparkman owning a 13% K rate and 84% contact on the year. If we dig a little further we will see that other than two starts Sparkman has been very dominant to right handed batting at home. He has allowed hitters to slash to a measley .278 wOBA, .370 SLG, and .281 OBP through 57 innings pitched. I’m not advocating you to play Sparkman, there just isn’t enough strikeout upside with him and win probability is slim with Wheeler on the other side of the plate. I will likely fade the Mets here as they are rolling out seven righties.

Preferred Stack: Pete Alonso ($4200 FD|$5400 DK) , J.D. Davis ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), Michael Conforto ($3700 FD|$4700 DK), Amed Rosario ($2700 FD|$4200 DK). Joe Panik ($2400 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

Fantasy Team Stack: Milwaukee Brewers/Washington Nationals**

vs. RHP Eric Fedde (TEX): 5.50 Runs

vs. RHP Chase Anderson (MIL): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

This is another game that should attract a good bit of ownership. The Brewers and Nationals put on a 14 inning show last night combining for 29 total runs. In the meantime they both exhausted their entire bullpens and we get two pitchers who typically don’t go deep into games facing off in today’s matchup. The weather and park factor give us a boost as well. My only hesitation is a possible hangover from a quick turnaround but other than that I like both of these teams today.

Nats: Preferred Plays: Juan Soto ($4000 FD|$5200 DK), Anthony Rendon ($4300 FD|$5400 DK), Trea Turner ($3900 FD|$5200 DK), and Matt Adams ($3100 FD|$4000 DK). Gerrardo Parra ($2000 FD|$3900 DK) great for value on Fanduel.

Brewers: Preferred Plays: Christian Yelich ($4700 FD|$5600 DK), Trent Grisham ($3000 FD|$3500 DK), Keston Hiura ($3500 FD|$4000 DK), and Eric Thames ($3000 FD|$4300 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

Fantasy Team Stack: Toronto Blue Jay’s

vs. LHP Yusei Kikuchi (SEA): 5.60 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Randal Grichuk ($3200 FD|$5500 DK), Bo Bichette ($3300 FD|$4800 DK), Justin Smoak ($2700 FD|$3600 DK) and Derek Fisher ($2600 FD|$4000 DK). Also consider: Teoscar Hernandez ($2900 FD|$4100 DK).

Fantasy Team Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers**

vs. LHP Max Fried (ATL): 4.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Will Smith ($3600 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Turner ($3700 FD|$5000 DK), A.J. Pollock ($3300 FD|$4400 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5800 DK) and Kyle Garlick ($2300 FD|$3600 DK). Jedd Gyorko (2000 FD|$3700 DK) for min price on Fanduel.

Pitching

  1. Jack Flaherty RHP (STL): 3.90 Runs
  2. Tony Gonsolin RHP (COL): 5.30 Runs
  3. Mike Clevinger RHP (CLE): 4.90 Runs

There are a lot of great spots for MLB DFS bats tonight so I will help narrow it down to my favorite stacks and a few value bats.

Top Stack – Milwaukee Brewers.  Taylor Clarke takes the mound for the Diamondbacks and that is great MLB DFS news for the Brewers.  He has a below average strikeout rate of 16.7% and gives up a whopping 41.3% hard contact to lefties.  In addition to that, he gives up a .293 ISO against hitters from both sides of the plate. Yelich, Moustakas, Grandal, and Thames are the ones to target here in MLB DFS.

Another Stack to Consider – Boston Red Sox.  The Red Sox face off against John Means tonight in Baltimore.  While it’s not the greatest MLB DFS matchup for Boston because Means has shown some ability to pitch well, I really like them because the bullpen for Baltimore is awful.  If they can get to Means and to that bullpen early it will mean good things. Means has somewhat reverse splits so I am targeting Bogaerts, Martinez, Chavis, and Vazquez.  You can switch in Betts for either Chavis or Vazquez but for me he is on the outside of my stacks until I see him get his power back. He only has a .096 ISO for the year and is priced at $4,400.  For that MLB DFS price I want power and home run upside which he has not shown this year. Maybe this is the game he gets back on track, but I will wait and see.

Top Value Bats – Jordan Luplow is still only $2,600 on FanDuel.  I think their algorithm is broken. He is my top points per dollar spend in MLB DFS tonight.  He has a massive .368 ISO against lefties and he gets a dream matchup in Mike Montgomery.  From that same game I like Roberto Perez at $2,800. He has been crushing lefties with a .296 ISO and is doing so quietly since he bats lower in the order.  Another value I like is Jessie Winker. He will bat leadoff again in a great hitter’s park. He is priced at only $2,800 and has a .239 ISO. In four at-bats against Wainwright he is one for four with that hit being a home run.  Not a large sample size for MLB DFS by any means but shows he has the ability to take him deep.

Here are some MLB DFS Stack Tips for Friday

1.) Los Angeles Dodgers

Zac Gallen has had walk troubles this season and in his last two starts he has given up a bomb. With the major power in this Dodgers lineup along with their ability to draw walks, it doesn’t bode well for Gallen. I’m taking all the power lefties in this one. I also have fallen in love with Justin Turner as Gallen has a .289 BAA against right-handed bats this season. I think the Dodgers get to Gallen early and chase down double digit runs in this MLB DFS Stack.

2.) Toronto Blue Jays

Jordan Zimmermann, Oh Lord. At home this season he holds a 7.20 ERA. No, that is not a typo. Jordan Zimmermann is horrible. He is even worse against left handed bats (.330 BAA and a .515 SLG). I don’t have any major preference with the Blue Jays, I’m sure some will be popular to use for value as everyone will try to jam in JV. My advice is to get different. Bottom order wrap around MLB DFS stack is definitely in play here. I LOVE the Blue Jays for tournaments.

3.) New York Yankees

Man, what happened to Kyle Freeland? As recently as last year he was dominant, now he’s a gas can. I’ll gladly add to the flame here and pour on a flood of Yankees. Against right handed bats this season Freeland has a .286 BAA and a .576 SLG. The number I’m mostly looking at, though, is the 45.4% hard hit rate. With all the power in this Yankees lineup, Freeland could be hitting the showers very early against this MLB DFS Stack.

4.) Milwaukee Brewers

Taylor Clarke is coming off an injury and is already a gas can. He holds a 6.92 ERA at home and a .269 BAA. The Brewers are one of the most dominant offenses in the league and can hang a crooked number at any moment. The Brewers will be my MLB DFS Stack pair with the Blue Jays for my single entry tournaments tonight.

When first glancing at tonight’s main slate you may focus in on the big-time aces taking the mound, but on a second look and you will see some good spots for some MLB DFS Stacks for July 18th. Check out four spots worth stacking in your FanDuel and DraftKings entries for tonight.

Minnesota Twins

The Athletics’ Mike Fiers is a guy you can use MLB DFS Stacks against. He is allowing a 40.9% flyball rate and owns a 5.25 SIERA with a low 7.8% swinging strike rate. Not only is Fiers just a guy, but also the Twins’ lineup is stacked with hitters that destroy righties. As an offensive unit they have a .226 ISO and a .341 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.

You can mix and match with the likes of: Nelson Cruz (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,500), Mitch Garver (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $5,200), Miguel Sano (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $4,600), Jason Castro (FanDuel: $2,600 DraftKings: $3,800), Eddie Rosario (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $4,800), Jorge Polanco (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,600), Jonathan Schoop (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $4,000) and Max Kepler (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,500). All of these Twins’ batters have accumulated at least a .200 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks will face the Brewers’ Zach Davies in this one. Davies has a very impressive 2.89 ERA this season. But a bit of a deeper dig suggests that regression is on its way for the Milwaukee starter. Davies also owns a 5.26 SIERA and a 4.99 xFIP. With the Diamondbacks fresh off a thumping of the Rangers this seems like an appropriate spot for MLB DFS Stacks.

Davies has struggled against batters from the left side of the plate, so stack the left-handed Diamondbacks. Our Arizona DFS stacks will need to start with Ketel Marte (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $5,300). He has an ISO north of .230 versus right-handed pitching. Another Arizona bat worth considering is of course Eduardo Escobar (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $5,200). He has an ISO above .210 versus righties in 2019.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Diamondbacks’ Merrill Kelly is allowing a 42% hard contact rate this season. The hard contact has led to a 4.87 SIERA and a 4.78 xFIP. So this is a perfect spot for MLB DFS Stacks. The Brewers crush righties. Milwaukee has five regulars that own ISOs over .200 against right-handed pitching.

The best of those five regulars, of course, is Christian Yelich (FanDuel: $4,900 DraftKings: $5,700). The outfielder has a .413 ISO and a .490 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. But don’t sleep on Keston Hiura (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $5,000), Mike Moustakas (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,700), Eric Thames (FanDuel: $2,700 DraftKings: $4,500), and Yasmani Grandal (FanDuel: $3,000 DraftKings: $4,500). All of these members of the Brew Crew have ISOs over .250 against right-handed pitching this season.

Houston Astros

The Angels’ Matt Harvey has the highest SIERA on the slate with a 5.53 mark in 2019. He also has a very high 5.25 xFIP and is allowing hard contact at an alarming rate. 41.6% of his contact allowed has resulted in hard contact so it should not surprise you that he is allowing 1.84 HR/9 this season, which is also the highest on the main slate. The Astros have plenty of batters that should take advantage of this matchup against a right-hander.

You will want Astros that bat from the left side of the batter’s box. Harvey is allowing a .399 wOBA and a crazy high 51.9% hard contact to lefties this season. Consider beginning your MLB DFS Stacks here with Michael Brantley (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,500). The outfielder has a .202 ISO and a 143 wRC+ versus righties in 2019.

DFS Stacks Today for the Friday slate

1.) Houston Astros

The Astros and Rangers got a head start on everyone and opened their second half on Thursday. To add to the plus of having a head start they get to face Jesse Chávez. He isn’t much of a strikeout specialist so I expect many balls to be put in play here. Righties do great damage against Chávez, as he gives up a .271 BAA and a .507 SLG. I’m looking right at Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, George Springer and of course the young phenom, Yordan Alvarez. The Astros top the DFS Stacks today.

2.) New York Yankees

Aaron Sanchez heads to the Bronx and he is going to regret getting on the plane. To start, he has a 6.75 ERA on the road and a .304 BAA. Sanchez is kind of reverse splits geared, as he is worse against righties so that’s where I want to attack him. Give me all of Scary Gary, Aaron Judge, D.J. LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres. The Yankees might break the slate or ruin everyone’s DFS Stacks today and score three runs.

3.) Milwaukee Brewers

Shaun Anderson comes to town and the Brewers should be as excited as I am. I am going to load up here in tournaments to pivot off Houston. Against lefties this season Anderson has given up a .284 BAA and a .451 slugging. Not to mention that Milwaukee is a lefty friendly park, so give me all of them in my DFS Stacks today. Christian Yelich, Yasmani Grandal, Mike Moustakas, and I don’t even mine using Lorenzo Cain.

4.) Seattle Mariners

Taylor Cole is a trash can to target with DFS Stacks today. To start, in a small sample size, Cole has a 5.59 ERA and a .282 BAA at home. Against righties he has a .286 BAA and a .405 SLG. I know he is just the opener, but it could open very badly for Seattle. Felix Pena will follow Cole and he cannot get lefties out for the life of him. Give me all the bats and load up here in DFS Stacks tofday. I think the M’s go very under-owned here.

Welcome back everyone! I know we have a few “new” guys on the Win Daily staff, as well as a few subscribers. I just wanted to welcome all of you. This report will provide recommended DFS stacks for today’s 13-game main slate.

**Please check back this afternoon between 5-6pm EST. Possible updates to lines once starting lineups are released.

New York Yankees

vs. RHP Aaron Sanchez (TOR): 7.10 Runs

The Yankees lost two games in a row going into the All-Star break and had only lost two in their previous 18. They are clearly the best team in baseball right now, boasting a 6.5 game lead on the Rays and 9.0 on the Red Sox. We all know how tricky the AL East can be after the break. These teams can close the gap rather quickly given their talents. Look for the Yankees to keep their foot on the gas and truck their way into the post season. Aaron Sanchez carries a 6.16 ERA, 5.56 FIP, and 5.57 SIERA into tonight’s game. His splits are identical, holding .a 361 wOBA, .391 OBP, and .451 OBP on the year. Coming out of the break, The Yankees are slashing to a .364 wOBA, .247 ISO, and 126 WRC+. They are hitting well above their season averages.

Preferred DFS Stacks Build: Aaron Hicks ($3700 FD|$4400 DK), Aaron Judge ($4400 FD|$4800 DK), D.J. LeMahieu ($4200 FD|$5300 DK), Gleyber Torres ($3400 FD|$4800 DK), and Brett Gardner ($2800 FD|$4700 DK).

Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Mike Leake (SEA): 5.60 Runs

Mike Leake hasn’t been awful this season, carrying a 4.32 ERA, 4.89 FIP, and 4.55 SIERA into tonight’s game. These +4.00 ERA stat lines seem more of the norm this season with the elevated scoring. Leake has identical splits, holding a .330 wOBA, .303 OBP, and .493 SLG through 114. innings pitched. He has the displeasure of facing an Angels team who hold the lowest strikeout rate in MLB. They average 6.87 strikeouts per game on the year. The Angels are slashing .to a 321 wOBA, .191 ISO, and .458 SLG to right handed pitching over a two week span coming out of the break.

Preferred DFS Stacks Build: Mike Trout ($4700 FD|$5300 DK), Shohei Ohtani ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), and Justin Upton ($3500 FD|$3800 DK).

Milwaukee Brewers

vs. RHP Shaun Anderson (SFG): 5.60 Runs

Shaun Anderson heads into tonight’s matchup holding a 4.23 ERA, 4.38 FIP, and 5.28 SIERA through 55 innings pitched. He has identical splits with a .320 wOBA, .331 OBP, and .417 SLG. I’m really hoping for a healthy Christian Yelich here tonight as he has been experiencing some lower back discomfort on and off this season. The Brewers come out of the break slashing to a .297 wOBA, .223 ISO, and .423 SLG to right handed pitching. The Brewers are only a half game back on the Cubs, who actively seem to be trying to hand the Brewers the division, but they have been having issues of their own. An unhealthy Yelich certainly does not give this lineup a ton of appeal. Look for the Brewers to get it together coming off the break.

Preferred DFS Stacks Build: Christian Yelich ($4800 FD|$5200 DK), Eric Thames ($3200 FD|$4800 DK), Yasmani Grandal ($3500 FD|$4900 DK), and Mike Moustakas ($3900 FD|$4700 DK) if you prefer a full stack on FD.

Honorable DFS Stacks Mentions

San Diego Padres vs. LHP Dallas Keuchel (ATL): 4.30 Runs

Preferred Stack: Hunter Renfroe ($3000 FD|$4700 DK), Manny Machado ($3900 FD|$4100 DK), and Manuel Margot ($2600 FD|$3600 DK).

Oakland A’s vs. RHP Ivan Nova (CHW): 5.60 Runs

Preferred Stack: Matt Chapman ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), Matt Olson ($3800 FD|$5100 DK), Mark Canha ($2800 FD|$4300 DK), and Ramon Laureano ($3100 FD|$4500 DK).

St. Louis Cardinals vs. LHP Robbie Ray (ARZ): 4.50 Runs

Preferred Stack: Paul Goldschmidt ($3200 FD|$3800 DK), Jose Martinez ($2800 FD|$3500 DK), and Dexter Fowler ($2900 FD|$3700 DK).

DFS PRO Jason Mezrahi and FSWA Hall of Famer Scott Engel are featured in the 7/3 MLB DFS Podcast. Listen to get caught up on who they are planning to play tonight. They break down the large slate and offer some strategy tips for the audience.

All Roads Lead to Astros at Coors

The first decisions you have to make on this slate is how to save on some pitching and find a few values so you can load up on bats tonight in the Houston-Colorado game at Coors Field. Jason believes you can use the likes of Chris Archer or Cal Quantrill, but Scott is very much against using Tyler Alexander, that may be going a bit too far to save salary.
