Monday Night Football DFS – Value and Punt Plays

Through the first two weeks of the season, Evan Engram led the team in targets (22) with Eli Manning under center. With Manning getting the start and Engram and back up tight end Rhett Ellison also out, Kaeden Smith ($2,200) is a nice punt play option. He has 14 targets over the past two weeks averaging 12.85 fantasy points. Eagles rank ninth-best versus tight ends.

Nelson Agholor also failed to log a single practice this week, which creates a great opportunity for J.J. Arcega-Whiteside ($2,000) and Greg Ward ($200) who is so cheap and lets you fit in all the studs. Though J.J. scored the touchdown, Ward ran more routes in Week 13 and played more snaps. If Agholor is ultimately ruled out the Eagles will just have three wide receivers in J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Alshon Jeffery, and Greg Ward. Doug Pederson did mention that tight end Joshua Perkins ($200), who was brought up from the practice squad last week, could have a bigger role.

Monday Night Football DFS – Favorite Stacks

The Giants pass defense is absolutely terrible especially when they play on the road. They are allowing 8.8 yards per pass attempt on the road this season by far the highest in the NFL. Every non-rookie quarterback that has faced the Giants has scored at least 20 fantasy points. Carson Wentz ($11,800) should be the preferred quarterback option and the one you should build around. Wentz threw four touchdowns and no interceptions and averaged just over 250 yards in two games last year versus the Giants. You will then want to pair Wentz with other Eagles weapons that include Zach Ertz ($9,400), Alshon Jeffery ($9,200), and Miles Sanders ($8,600).

Ertz has a touchdown reception in four consecutive games versus the Giants and has at least eight targets and six receptions over his last four games versus the G-Men. Sanders should again see 20-plus touches with Jordan Howard slated to miss. He could be in line for a great game especially if the rain causes the team to focus more on the ground. Via PhiladelphiaEagles.com, Sanders is the first NFL running back to record at least 850 scrimmage yards and 300 return yards in his first 12 career games since Adrian Peterson (Minnesota) in 2007.

That means you should not overlook Dallas Goedert ($4,800) who could see more looks if the Eagles run more two-tight end sets. The Giants will also be without their starting safety Jabrill Peppers. And with any build, you will want to do your best to squeeze Saquon Barkley ($10,600) into your lineup even if you cannot get him in the captain’s spot. Barkley has 371 scrimmage yards (185.5 per game) & three touchdowns (two rush, one rec.) in two career games versus the Eagles. Barkley has better fantasy splits with Eli Manning under center.

Monday Night Football DFS – Contrarian Plays

The Eagles DST ($5,800) could potentially be overlooked in the captain’s spot despite being in a potential blow-up spot with the weather not looking so great for Monday night. But for things to get really weird playing the Giants DST ($2,800) could provide great leverage on the field especially in poor weather conditions where balls can take unusual bounces. The Eagles rank sixth-worst in the league in turnovers per game and lead the league in turnovers per game (2.3) over the last three weeks. Kicker Jake Elliott ($4,000) is also an intriguing play with the weather, but the Giants are allowing 2.2 field goal attempts per game on the road this season.

Darius Slayton ($6,800) will probably be the least owned Giants receiver because we have not seen him with Eli Manning. Still last week Slayton ran the most routes and led the team in targets (nine). But there is an argument to be made that Slayton has the most upside of any Giants receiver. He leads the team in receiving yards, receptions, air yards, and receiving touchdowns. Wide receiver coach Tyke Tolbert suggested Slayton would still be a featured part of the offense following the return of Golden Tate (concussion) to the starting lineup, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. “He’s going to be the same factor he’s always been.”

The other receiver options are Golden Tate ($8,000) and Sterling Shepard ($7,200). Shepard has the most chemistry with Manning making owners probably trend towards him. In his six career games against the Eagles, Shepard has 35 catches for 457 yards and four touchdowns. This is a revenge game for Tate, and he is averaging 12.5 yards per catch in his first season with the Giants, his best mark since 2014 with the Lions. We saw last week in a plus matchup what Shepard could do without Tate and he just had three receptions. The upside again lies in Tate and not Shepard so Tate is the preferred option, especially coming with lower ownership.

12/9 Win Daily DFS: Daniel Shives

Our very own Daniel Shives had a solid day in NFL DFS with a takedown of his own. He dominated the $2K Sunday NFL Small Sweep tournament and after landing in the first place, won himself $400. You can join our free Discord server and become a Premium member to experience more perks, including extra articles as well as other rewards. Turn your sports hobbies into a money producer today!

12/9 DFS Winner: Aaron Jones

Here is a preview of what to expect from the DFS RB Picks article written by Antonio D’Arcangelis. He chose Aaron Jones for his GPP Plays and if you followed that, you were not disappointed. Jones ran 16 times for 134 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Redskins. He also led the team in catches and receiving yards with six receptions for 58 yards.

Outlook for the rest of the season: After a few lackluster weeks, Jones proved he could dominate a weak Redskins rushing defense. He led the team in rushing and receiving. Jones is proving to be a jack-of-all-trades in the backfield, getting at least five targets in seven games this season. Expect a solid performance the rest of the season, whether it be as a running back or receiver.

12/9 DFS Winner: Jameis Winston

Here is our NFL FanDuel Cheatsheet, where Jason Mezrahi chose Jameis Winston as a value quarterback and Winston did not disappoint. Going against the Indianapolis Colts at home, Jameis was a passing machine. He threw for 456 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 33-of-45 attempts. Winston also rushed six times for five yards and another touchdown.

Outlook for the rest of the season: Winston did miss the first drive of the second half with a right thumb injury but returned the next drive. He looks like he will be okay and shouldn’t have any issues going forward. Winston throws for a lot of yards but the turnovers are the issue. He has 26 touchdown passes with 23 interceptions. Expect another dominant performance next week with a lackluster Detroit team being his foe.

12/9 DFS Winner: Anthony Davis

Here is a snippet from the NBA DFS Sunday Night Positional Breakdown article written by Brandon C. Williams. Anthony Davis was the top power forward on the market as he dominated the entire game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He went 20-for-29 from the field and 10-of-10 from the free-throw line for a 50-point game. He also added seven rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block in 39 minutes of action.

Outlook for the rest of the season: This is what prime Anthony Davis could do on the court as a Laker. Davis is setting himself up for a solid MVP consideration with his play and has the talents to only improve from here. He is a huge reason the Lakers sit at 21-3 on the season and show no signs of slowing down. Davis is scoring 27.7 points a night and has the fourth-best PER in the league. Expect these types of performances often and do not be afraid to pay up for his services on your DFS lineups.

This article focuses on NHL DFS Picks for 12/9 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites have fairly different scoring formats, particularly with the recent changes on DraftKings. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large. BE SURE to double-check both regular and power play lines at both morning skate and before lock as they can drastically change from the time of publication.

Top Three Lines

Boston One – David Krejci, David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, plus Jake DeBrusk “$540 on FanDuel”

The top overall Boston play on FanDuel is astonishingly not one of the names mentioned above, but instead Jake DeBrusk. However, the sole reason for that is because he is priced as a mistake at an abnormal $540, opening up lineup construction for all sorts of studs. You might want to use some of that savings on a couple of the men listed above. It will be tough for Ottawa to handle them, even on home ice. It does not seem like Patrice Bergeron will be returning for this game, but that is something to keep an eye on. Nevertheless, this line is solid as-is. With 25 goals and 18 assists over 30 games, Pasta is the top play and can be used as a one-off. I think that we will see a lot of Boston four-man on FanDuel involving Jake DeBrusk “who shares a correlation with David Krejci on the Bruin’s second power-play unit”.

Washington One – Alex Ovechkin “Core”, John Carlson “Core”, Nicklas Backstrom, Tom Wilson “Better on FanDuel”

This is a fairly loaded slate for a four gamer as you can already tell. Next up, we have the potent Washington first line playing host to the Columbus Blue Jackets. As a team, the Capitals have scored a league-high 115 goals this season. Most teams can’t wait to get back on home ice and shake off all of the ills that come with an extended road trip. However, the Caps were largely unfazed, absolutely cruising through that part of their schedule. This is a Columbus team that will consistently struggle throughout the rest of the year to pick up points on the road.

Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson are the core two for me here. Nicklas Backstrom is returning from injury, so I’d expect the traditional Washington One line, although Backstrom is not necessary. I left Tom Wilson for last, but I think that he is okay on FanDuel where he is always cheap. Otherwise, I would stick to the big guns and if you can jam John Carlson in, go for it. I don’t mind the Capitals second line either, as by moving Evgeny Kuznetsov down where he replaces Lars Eller, that line has become even stronger. It was already hot with Jacob Vrana perhaps the hottest player right now on this entire team.

Colorado One – Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Joonas Donskoi, Cale Makar “Powerplay Add On”

Clearly, I decided to get really creative here. It’s just hard to pass up some of these top-level lines, and the fact that there are a few of them on the slate should help to suppress ownership a little. We have the team that has scored the most goals in hockey this season, and the team that has scored the second-most in the Avs. Nathan MacKinnon, much like Alex Ovechkin, and John Carlson, is routinely hitting bonuses on DraftKings.

You can play MacKinnon as a one-off, or you can go all in and add Mikko Rantanen and the most talented of the Joonas Brothers, Joonas Donskoi. Both of the aforementioned skaters also correlate on the Avalanche’s first power-play unit. Feel free to add on Cale Makar or Gabriel Landeskog if trying to go all in and target the power play. Makar was hurt Saturday night, so be sure to make sure he is back skating earlier in the day, before using him.

NFL DFS Week 14 GPP Picks Of Destiny

Week 14 in NFL DFS is about finding the best opportunities for guaranteed production with a high upside. Follow my stud and value GPP plays and lock in the NFL DFS Picks of Destiny.

David Jones won 100K on FanDuel! Read about it here!

David also won back-to-back GPPs!

There will be updates closer to lock. Check back Sunday morning.

Quarterbacks:

Stud: Lamar Jackson ($8,700 FD)

He does not have an easy matchup, but he is also matchup proof. He should be lower owned than normal this week in NFL DFS and I have no problem playing him at that kind of ownership. Much like CMC, I do not fade Lamar Jackson. We have seen this Ravens team “mercy rule” a couple opponents so far this year. This offense is legit and it is all because of the MVP contender. Expect Lamar Jackson to do Lamar Jackson things again this week. Three to Four TD’s (either on the ground or through the air) isn’t out of the question.

Pivot: DeShaun Watson (way too cheap), Aaron Rodgers

Value: Sam Darnold ($7,700 FD)

Sam Darnold plays much better at home and get the visiting Miami Dolphins (31st in the NFL) this Sunday. The Dolphins have given up 28 passing touchdowns this season, which is only two behind the Arizona Cardinals. Pair Darnold up with Crowder, Anderson or Griffin in what I think will be a high scoring NFL DFS game.

Pivot: Ryan Tannehill, Ryan Fitzpatrick

Running Backs

Stud RB: Christian McCaffrey ($11,000 FD)

He is in another fantastic spot. I will have a ton of him.

Stud Pivot: Derick Henry, Nick Chubb

Value RB: DeVonta Freeman ($6,000 FD)

The Carolina Panthers are a team you want to target with running backs. They have allowed the most scores on the ground in the NFL this year. Freeman is CHEAP and the wide receivers all seem to be dealing with injury setbacks. If Freeman doesn’t come in looking rusty (like he tends to do sometimes) he should smash his cheap salary. This feels like Freeman’s best NFL DFS spot all year.

Pivots: Melvin Gordon, Leonard Fournette

Value: Powell, Laird (DK)

Punts/High Risk: Kareem Hunt, Sony Michel, Benny Snell (FD), Jaylen Samuels (DK)

I will update again closer to Sunday. Be sure to check back.

Wide Receiver

Stud WR: Stefon Diggs ($8,000 FD)

Adam Thielen is doubtful, Dalvin Cook is banged up and the Detroit Lions are ranked in the bottom of the NFL defending WR1’s. Diggs should receive around double digit targets here and get a few deep looks down the field. I am not in love with any of the other high priced receivers this week making Diggs a nice pivot from the bigger named superstar studs. Diggs is sliding under the radar this week and is literally in a better spot than everyone priced above him.

Stud Pivots: DaVante Adams, Julio Jones (if he plays, he should)

Mid WR:

Keenan Allen ($6,800 FD) Simply too cheap on FanDuel. He is the clear number one receiver for the Chargers and the Jags can be beat on the ground and through the air. Keenan Allen is this weeks Alshon Jeffrey.

DeVante Parker ($7,200 FD) He has over 10 targets in each of the last four weeks. He caught two touchdowns (almost three) last week and is clearly Fitzpatrick’s favorite target He gets the 23rd ranked pass defense in what I expect to be a high scoring game. His price went up, but so did his upside.

Zach Pascal ($6,100 FD) He is not a “true WR1” but he is the best thing that Jacoby Brisett has against the Tampa Bay poor pass defense. Another case of being too cheap in NFL DFS.

Pivots: Courtland Sutton, DJ Moore, James Washington

Punt Wide Receivers: Curtis Samuel, Sammy Watkins, Russell Gage

Tight End

Kyle Rudolph ($4,800 FD)

He has six touchdowns in the last six games. Thielen is out again and Dalvin Cook is beat up. The offense should run through Diggs, Rudolph and the running back (notice I didn’t say Cook there). When Thielen has been out it has helped Rudolph tremendously. The price for him makes no sense on FanDuel. Kyle Rudolph is a free square this week in NFL DFS.

Tight End Pivots: Jack Doyle, Ryan Griffin, Vance McDonald

Defense

  1. Packers
  2. Vikings
  3. Steelers
  4. Texans
  5. Punt: Bengals

I will tweet out when there are NFL DFS updates. Be sure to follow me @tenaciousdjones on Twitter so you don’t miss out!

Here are Scott Engel’s favorite value and punt plays at each position for the NFL DFS Week 14 main slate. As a weekly nod to punting, we also salute some of the greatest punters of all time by featuring their photos. This week’s featured punter is Pat McAfee.

NFL DFS Week 14 QBValues and Punts

Jacoby Brissett vs. TB ($6,100): The matchup against Tampa Bay is obviously a friendly one. He is not Nick Foles, so there is less concern of a bad outing. You have to at least consider Brissett as a cash game play and use Zach Pascal with him.

Tom Brady vs. KC ($6,100): He can turn it back on at any time, and will have to do so to keep up with Patrick Mahomes.

Ryan Tannehill vs. OAK ($5,800): The Titans are winning with Tannehill, and you can win with him too. The Raiders have allowed the fourth-most Fantasy Points Per Game to quarterbacks this season and using A.J. Brown with Tannehill is a good move.

Drew Lock vs. HOU ($5,100): The Texans do have a vulnerable pass defense, and Lock throws a pretty good deep ball. He certainly will not be widely owned.

NFL DFS Week 14 RBValues and Punts

Melvin Gordon vs. JAC ($6,400):  A prime value considering he has recaptured much of his better form and the Jaguars have allowed the second-most FFPG to RBs over the past month.

Benny Snell vs. ARI ($6,100): Great matchup, he could score more than once this week. Steelers will dominate.

James White vs. KC ($5,500): He is really the No. 2 WR on the Patriots. He is gonna be busy this week.

Darwin Thompson vs. NE ($4,000): He is an upside type who can deliver despite the perceived challenging matchup. You have to take the shot in GPPs. Even if many others are on him, he’ll give you a lot of lineup flexibility with the statistical promise.

Bilal Powell vs. MIA ($3,500): He can be unpredictable when asked to handle a larger load, but if Le’Veon Bell is out he should be the Jets’ lead RB and cannot be passed on at the price tag.

DeAndre Washington vs. TEN ($3,000): Could be the featured ball carrier for the Raiders if Josh Jacobs is out, comes at the minimum salary.

NFL DFS Week 14 WRValues and Punts

Jarvis Landry vs. CIN ($6,500): Has 16 catches in his last two games and has all of his five TDs in the last five games.

Courtland Sutton vs. HOU ($6,400): Nice price for a rising star who has admirably overcome QB changes and now may be more of a deep threat with Lock at QB.

James Washington vs. ARI ($6,000): Cardinals always are a team to attack with WR plays, and Washington has emerged as a big-play man in recent weeks.

Zach Pascal vs, TB ($5,500): Great value duo with him and Brissett. The Colts stack is an intriguing one this week.

Jamison Crowder vs. MIA ($5,300): Has quieted down recently, but Jets need to get him involved again to get the offense moving.

Allen Lazard vs. WAS ($4,200): Aaron Rodgers may have found a new downfield weapon that he likes.

Auden Tate vs. CLE ($4,000): Relevant again with Andy Dalton back at QB and Tyler Boyd will draw a lot of defensive attention.

NFL DFS Week 14 TE Values and Punts

Kyle Rudolph vs. DET ($4,400): He has become a consistent TD threat and Kirk Cousins may have a big week.

Ryan Griffin vs. MIA ($4,100): If the Jets offense wakes up this week, which should happen, he will be a top TD target for Sam Darnold.

Mike Gesicki vs. NYJ ($4,000): With Jamal Adams out for the Jets, the matchup looks even better. We still have not seen the breakout game yet, but you can take he chance that it comes this week.

Ian Thomas vs. ATL ($2,500): He is an athletic and heady young guy who just needs more playing time to show what he can do, and he’ll get that chance this week with Greg Olsen out.

NFL DFS Week 14 Valuesand Punt Defenses

Colts vs. TB ($2,400): An underrated unit facing the league’s most turnover-prone QB.

Bengals vs. CLE ($2,100): They have allowed 17 or less points in each of the past three games and Baker Mayfield can certainly turn the ball over.

12/6 Win Daily DFS: PJ Tucker

Here is what to expect out of the NBA DFS Game Previews & Prop Plays article from Brandon C. Williams. Going up against the defending NBA Champion Toronto Raptors on the road, PJ Tucker had a solid game. In 39 minutes, he had 18 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

Outlook for the rest of the season: Tucker had a solid shooting night as he went 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. This was just the second double-double for Tucker so far this season. He is shooting career-highs from the field, three-point line and free-throw line this season so far. Expect a little bit of a fall off as he is logging major minutes this season.

12/6 DFS Winner: Mitchell Trubisky

Here is what to expect from the Thursday Night Showdown article written by David Jones. Mitch Trubisky had a solid outing at home against the Dallas Cowboys. Trubisky went 23-of-31 for 244 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He also ran 10 times for 63 yards and an additional touchdown.

Outlook for the rest of the season: This last third of the season could change the entire view of Trubisky’s season. He seems to be figuring things out as this was the third straight game of at least 240 yards. The remainder of the schedule is tough for the Bears as they try to grab a Wild Card spot. No matter what the outcomes pile up to be, I would not feel comfortable as all this could go downhill fast.

12/6 DFS Winner: Capper Steve

Capper Steve is back on here with a short NBA/NFL slate as he hit on both of the NBA picks. However, the teaser did not fall his way after the Cowboys struggled offensively for most of the game. If you followed all three of these bets, you would have an additional 1.9 units in your bankroll. You can check out his Sports Betting Picks article and see why he is one of the best handicappers in the entire industry!

12/6 DFS Winner: Davis Bertans

Two for the price of one as Brandon found another sleeper! This time it was Davis Bertans coming off the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers. He logged 37 minutes and had 25 points, a rebound and a steal in the game.

Outlook for the rest of the season: Bertans was on fire from deep as he went 7-of-13 from the three-point line. With Thomas Bryant looking like he will miss another couple of weeks, Bertans will log major minutes in a sixth-man role. Expect solid production as a value/sleeper option in your DFS lineups.

12/5 Win Daily DFS: New Gold Member “GoGoChuck”

https://twitter.com/gogochuck/status/1202430018900676609

One of our newest members posted this on Twitter and we are excited to share! If you become a Premium member as well, you gain a bunch of extra incentives including access to our Discord server with extensive research and DFS experts’ advice. Today is the day to start adding some extra cash.

12/5 DFS Winner: Mo Bamba

Here is a snippet from The DFS Diamonds article from Javier Prellezo. As a lock value play, Mo Bamba was an excellent choice off the bench for the Orlando Magic facing Phoenix. Bamba had a great night as he finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and a steal in 18 minutes of action.

Outlook for the rest of the season: This was the first time this year Bamba has played in back-to-back nights. He had a season-high in blocks and his second-highest rebounding total in last night’s performance. This type of game is Bamba’s ceiling in NBA DFS. Expect these numbers with teams that are lacking big men on their roster.

12/5 DFS Winner: Colorado Avalanche Starting Line

Here is your daily dose of NHL DFS as Richard Masana wrote this in The Daily Hot Shot. Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and an assist, Joonas Donskoi had a goal and Mikko Rantanen finished with an assist. They were the major reason why the beat the Toronto Maple Leafs on the road.

Outlook for the rest of the season: MacKinnon is tied for third in the NHL in points. The combination of these three has around 80 points thus far this season. Expect these three to be a solid choice throughout the remainder of the NHL DFS season.

12/5 DFS Winner: CJ McCollum

Here is a preview of what to expect from our NBA DFS Game Previews article written by Brandon C. Williams. CJ McCollum had a great game at home against the Sacramento Kings in a victory. He went for 33 points, four rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and a steal.

Outlook for the rest of the season: CJ is beginning to get into a groove with his scoring as this was the 10th consecutive game with at least 20 points. He is inside the Top 20 this season in scoring and is playing well with the addition of Carmelo Anthony to the roster. McCollum is a versatile player that does whatever needs to be done on the court and hasn’t taken the step back in DFS that Damian Lillard has with Anthony’s shots added.
