Teams with Highest IRT

MLB Team Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Dario Agrazal (PIT): 7.65 Runs

The Rockies will definitely be popular tonight as they usually are at home, especially with with some intriguing low to mid range pitching options on the slate. I always look for a reason to not ride the Coors chalk, but I will never advocate a full fade. After a relatively good start, Agrazal has found a bit of a struggle and has surrendered three or more runs in his last five games. Agrazal is throwing a ton of sinker at 56% and I believe this bodes well for him in this matchup. Breaking pitches have been found to be some of the more effective pitches in Coors and Agrazal is only throwing his fastball at an 11% clip. I would not want to play him just due to poor strike out upside but I can see Agrazal finding some success here due to his pitching arsenal.

Preferred Plays: Charlie Blackmon ($4700 FD|$5700 DK), Trevor Story ($4300 FD|$5600 DK), Nolan Arenado ($4700 FD|$5700 DK), and Sam Hilliard ($2900 FD|$4000 DK).

MLB Team Stack: Houston Astros

vs. RHP Trent Thornton (TOR): 6.25 Runs

We have a pretty good chance at getting Houston at low ownership and in a great spot. Trent Thornton has been underwhelming for the month of August, allowing hitters to slash to a .364 wOBA, .535 SLG, and .348 OBP. This Houston offense is not quite as explosive as they were a month ago, but they are still producing extra base hits as indicated by their 138 WRC+. Overall power is down to righties over the last two weeks (202 ISO) but this offense is potent and can go off on sub par pitching any given night.

Preferred Stack: Yordan Alvarez ($4200 FD|$5500 DK), George Springer ($3400 FD|$5400 DK), Michael Brantley ($3200 FD|$4400 DK), Alex Bregman ($3900 FD|5500 DK), and Yuli Gurriel ($3700 FD|$4800 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB Team Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. RHP Edwin Jackson (DET):UPDATE

This is another game that should be considered as an alternative to Coors if you’re looking to get away. I’m assuming a pretty high implied run total here with the matchup against Jackson and the 25th ranked Tigers bullpen. The Twins WRC+ of 107 is a little lower than I’d like to see from them right now but they are still slashing .210 ISO and .478 SLG for the month of August. The power is there to get the job done tonight and as we all know Jackson struggles a ton with the long ball, surrendering 3.08 HR/9 this season. Jackson gave up six earned runs in his most recent start against the Twins.

Preferred Plays: Nelson Cruz ($3900 FD|$5400 DK), Miguel Sano ($3800 FD|$5100 DK), C.J. Cron ($3000 FD|$4200 DK), and Mitch Garver ($3300 FD|$5400 DK). Jake Cave ($2300 FD|$3900 DK) offers some salary relief as well.

MLB Team Stack: Washington Nationals

vs. RHP Elieser Hernandez (MIA): 6.00 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Howie Kendrick ($2600 FD|$5500 DK), Anthony Rendon ($4400 FD|$5600 DK), Juan Soto ($4000 FD|$5500 DK), and Matt Adams ($2800 FD|$4400 DK). Also consider: Kurt Suzuki ($2300 FD|$4300 DK) and Asdrubal Cabrera ($2800 FD|$4100 DK)

MLB Team Stack: Pittsburgh Pirates

vs. RHP Antonio Senzatela (PIT): 6.85 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Starling Marte ($4200 FD|$5800 DK), Josh Bell ($4400 FD|$5700 DK), Bryan Reynolds ($3900 FD|$5600 DK), Jose Osuna ($3100 FD|$5200 DK), and Colin Moran ($3600 FD|$4600 DK).

Pitching

  1. Kyle Gibson RHP (MIN): UPDATE
  2. Shane Bieber RHP (CLE): UPDATE
  3. Anibal Sanchez RHP (WSH): 3.50 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s nine-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks. All plays are listed in order of preference. Make sure you stay up to date with all our favorite plays on our DFS Cheat Sheet as well.

Teams with Highest IRT

Fantasy MLB Stack: Houston Astros**

vs. RHP Edwin Jackson (DET): 7.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Edwin Jackson has disappointed a lot of people his last few starts. He has actually fared well against struggling teams like the Red Sox and Mariners. Today is a whole different story though. Jackson has the displeasure of taking on the most talented team in MLB, the Houston Astros. The Astros are on fire right now, slashing to a .378 wOBA, .272 ISO, and 143 WRC+ against righties. Jackson maintains his 8.00+ ERA, is allowing a massive 3.40 HR/9, and has a BABIP of .331. The cards are obviously stacked against him tonight and although he has had some decent performances, I highly doubt he will have one against this Astros squad. Eat the chalk, play the Astros.

Preferred Plays: Yordan Alvarez ($4400 FD|$5800 DK), Michael Brantley ($4400 FD|$5000 DK), Carlos Correa ($4000 FD|$5000 DK), and Alex Bregman ($4300 FD|$5400 DK). Also consider Yuli Gurriel ($3700 FD|$5100 DK and Jose Altuve ($4300 FD|$5200 DK).

Fantasy MLB Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. LHP Kolby Allard (TEX): 5.80 Runs

**Moderate Risk

The Angels come in with the second highest run total today and a get a major boost at Globe Life Park. We are looking at 101 degrees first pitch. The Angel’s have struggled mightily this month, slashing to a .211 wOBA, .130 ISO, and 28 WRC+. These are awful hitting numbers are I have hard time getting here for a full stack even with a ball park boost and LHP on the mound. I do like a few pieces here. Allard has looked decent in his first two starts away from Arlington, striking out 5 or more and allowing 3 runs or less in 5 innings pitched. Texas will presumably roll out five righties against Peters, I do like the Rangers as well.

Preferred Stack: Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5600 DK), Albert Pujols ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), Justin Upton ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), and David Fletcher ($3000 FD|$3900 DK).

Fantasy MLB Stack: Baltimore Orioles**

vs. RHP Jorge Lopez (KCR): 5.50 Runs

**High Risk

The Twins actually have the slight edge over the Orioles for implied run total but I like the O’s today for less ownership. The Orioles are hitting the best they have all season in the last two weeks, slashing to a .332 wOBA, .235 ISO, and .321 WRC+. Their offensive struggles outweigh the good days but when they are making good contact the runs seem to pour in. Jorge Lopez owns a 6.51 ERA, 5.44 FIP, and 4.64 SIERA. He is allowing 1.89 HR/9 and .321 BABIP. Not sure if I’ll get to a full stack here but I do like a few pieces.

Preferred Plays: Trey Mancini ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), Jonathon Villar ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), Anthony Santander ($3100 FD|$4100 DK), and Renato Nunez ($3000 FD|$4000 DK). Rio Ruiz ($2000 FD|$3400 DK) for value.

Other Teams I Have Interest in

Fantasy MLB Stack: Minnesota Twins**

vs. RHP Ivan Nova (CHW): 5.60 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Max Kepler ($4000 FD|$4600 DK), Nelson Cruz ($4000 FD|$4300 DK), Miguel Sano ($3400 FD|$5000 DK) and Eddie Rosario ($3800 FD|$4800 DK). Also consider: Luis Arraez ($2900 FD|$4200 DK) for value.

Fantasy Team Stack: Cincinnati Reds**

vs. LHP Eric Lauer (SDP): 5.10 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Phillip Ervin ($2500 FD|$3800 DK), Aristides Aquino ($4500 FD|$5000 DK), Eugenio Suarez ($3800 FD|$4600 DK).

Fantasy Team Stack: Kansas City Royals

vs. LHP John Means (BAL): 4.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Jorge Soler ($3600 FD|$5500 DK), Chelsor Cuthbert ($2500 FD|$3500 DK), Hunter Dozier ($3800 FD|$5400 DK), and Whit Merrifield ($3200 FD|$5100 DK).

Pitching

  1. Kyle Gibson RHP (MIN): 3.80
  2. Marco Gonzales LHP (SEA): 3.50 Runs
  3. Wade Miley LHP (HOU): 2.60 Runs
  4. Zac Gallen RHP (ARI): 3.90 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s eight-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

MLB Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Merrill Kelly (ARI): 7.50 Runs

**Low Risk

I’m going to get the Coors chalk out of the way to start things off. We have Merrill Kelly taking on the Rockies at home tonight. Kelly owns a 4.52 ERA, 4.61 FIP, and 4.82 SIERA. Kelly is allowing the second highest hard contact rate on the slate at 42.4% and 1.51 HR/9. He tends to struggle the most on the road, allowing righties to slash to a .335 wOBA, .479 SLG, and .325 OBP. He has allowed 28 earned runs in 36 innings pitched against them. Rockies batters are slashing to a .321 wOBA, .171 ISO, and 81 WRC+ over the last month and they get the highest implied run total here tonight.

Preferred Stack: Trevor Story ($4600 FD|$5600 DK), Nolan Arenado ($4500 FD|$5400 DK), Charlie Blackmon ($4700 FD|$5700 DK), and Ryan McMahon ($3200 FD|$4200 DK). Yonathon Daza ($2600 FD|$3200 DK) and Raimel Tapia ($3100 FD|$4100 DK) make excellent value plays.

MLB Stack: Arizona Diamondbacks

vs. RHP Peter Lambert (COL): 6.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Arizona hasn’t been as hot as you’d like them to be coming into tonight’s matchup, slashing to a .325 wOBA, .167 ISO, and 97 WRC+. Despite this, the Diamondbacks get a gravy matchup against Peter Lambert, who struggles immensely at home. He is allowing batters to slash to a .399 wOBA, .626 SLG, and .358 OBP. He has allowed 24 earned runs and nine home runs in 29 innings pitched. Colorado/Arizona will be very popular, so get creative in tournaments. Also looks like some pricing we can take advantage of on FanDuel, as Arizona bats are underpriced there.

Preferred Plays: Christian Walker ($3600 FD|$4900 DK), Eduardo Escobar ($4200 FD|$5500 DK), Ketel Marte ($4400 FD|$5500 DK), and David Peralta ($3800 FD|$4900 DK). Jake Lamb ($3100 FD|$4300 DK), Jarrod Dyson ($3200 FD|$5300 DK), and Carson Kelly ($3300 FD|$5200 DK). serve as good value plays.

Other Teams I Like

MLB Stack: Cincinnati Reds

vs. RHP Erick Fedde (WSH): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Josh VanMeter ($2600 FD|$3700 DK), Jesse Winker ($3000 FD|$3800 DK), Joey Votto ($3400 FD|$3800 DK), and Eugenio Suarez ($4100 FD|$4500 DK). Aristicles Aquino ($3900 FD|$4400 DK)

MLB Stack: Toronto Blue Jays

vs. RHP Ariel Jurado (TEX): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Bo Bichette ($4100 FD|$4500 DK), Randal Grichuk ($3000 FD|$3800 DK), Vlad Guererro Jr. ($3600 FD|$4200 DK), and Derek Fisher ($2600 FD|$3900 DK).

MLB Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Mitch Keller (PIT): 5.25 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5400 DK), Justin Upton ($3300 FD|$3600 DK), Shohei Ohtani ($3700 FD|$4300 DK), and Kole Calhoun ($3200 FD|$3800 DK). David Fletcher ($2900 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

Pitching

  1. Zack Greinke RHP (HOU): 3.20 Runs
  2. Anthony DeSclafani RHP (CIN): 5.00 Runs
  3. Joey Lucchesi LHP (SDP): 3.82 Runs

MLB Team Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Adam Plutko (CLE): UPDATE

The Angels are in Cleveland tonight facing Adam Plutko. Plutko owns a 4.83 ERA, 6.80 FIP, and 5.35 SIERA. He has a measly 14.5% K rate and struggles with the long ball, allowing 2.50 HR/9 and a 48% fly ball rate. Plutko has struggled against righties, particularly at home. They are slashing to a .371 wOBA, .625 SLG, and .294 OBP. Plutko has shown inconsistency overall so I won’t be afraid to roll out these powerful Angels lefties. The Angels are slashing to a .316 wOBA, .210 ISO, and 100 WRC+ over the last month against right handed pitching.

Preferred Stack: Mike Trout ($4800 FD|$5700 DK), Shohei Ohtani ($3800 FD|$5100 DK), Kole Calhoun ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), and Matthew Thaiss ($2500 FD|$4100 DK).

MLB Team Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. LHP Danny Duffy: 6.25 Runs

**Low Risk

The Twins were the top stack on the slate as I stated yesterday. They take on an underwhelming Danny Duffy. Duffy owns a 4.42 ERA, 4.73 FIP, and 4.85 SIERA. He hasn’t thrown a lot to lefties, but has struggled in the 24 innings he has. He is allowing them to slash to a .357 wOBA, .457 SLG, and .367 OBP. The Twins are slashing to a .357 wOBA, .223 ISO, and 122 WRC+ over the last month.

Preferred Stack: Nelson Cruz ($4400 FD|$5200 DK), Mitch Garver ($3500 FD|$5500 DK), Miguel Sano ($3800 FD|$4800 DK), and Jonathon Schoop ($2700 FD|$3700 DK).

MLB Team Stack: Philidelphia Phillies

vs. LHP Ross Detwiler (CWS): 6.00

**Low Risk

Ross Detwiler is on the mound tonight for the White Sox. He owns a 6.35 ERA, 6.84 FIP, and 4.39 SIERA over 22 innings pitched. He has a slate low 11.7% K rate and is allowing 2.78 HR/9 innings (inflated stat due to small sample size). Detwiler absolutely gets smashed by right handed batting, allowing them to slash to a .480 wOBA, .726 SLG, and .440 OBP. He has allowed 11 earned runs and six home runs against righties across 15 innings pitched.

Preferred Stack: Rhys Hoskins ($4200 FD|$4600 DK), J.T. Realmuto ($3700 FD|$4500 DK), Jean Segura ($3600 FD|$4300 DK), and Scott Kingery ($3300 FD|$4400 DK).

Honorable Mention

MLB Team Stack: Houston Astros

vs. LHP Marco Gonzales (SEA): 6.30 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Stack: Alex Bregman ($4000 FD|$4400 DK), George Springer ($4400 FD|$5300 DK), Jose Altuve ($4200 FD|$4600 DK), Carlos Correa ($3800 FD|$4300 DK), and Yuli Gurriel ($3300 FD|$4200 DK).

MLB Team Stack: Atlanta Braves

vs. RHP Trevor Bauer (CIN): 4.70 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Stack: Freddie Freeman ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), Brian McCann ($2400 FD|$3700 DK), Josh Donaldson ($3600 FD|$4400 DK) and Ozzie Albies ($3600 FD|$4200 DK).

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s seven-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

Daily Fantasy Stack: Cincinnati Reds

vs. RHP Alex McRae (PIT): 6.15 Runs

**Low Risk

The Reds are facing Jordan Lyles, who has seen better days over his last four starts. He has given up five or more runs in his last three of four games. This isn’t Coors Field, but it is close enough. Lyles carries a 5.36 ERA 4.81 FIP, and 4.43 SIERA on the year. He continues to struggle against left handed batting, allowing them to slash to a .416 wOBA, .630 SLG, and .403 OBP while allowing 28 earned runs over 31 innings pitched. I’m not huge on BvP statistics but the Reds have seen a lot of success against Lyles. They have six players with .900 OPS or better against him. The Reds are slashing to a .355, .194 ISO, and 117 WRC+ against righties the last two weeks. We’ve all come to find out Lyles was traded to the Reds so now we get Alex McRae on the mound. Same struggle to lefties, even better matchup for the Reds. I’ve upgraded this to a low risk play. You cannot beat the value here, but we do have some weather concerns.

Preferred Stack: Yasiel Puig ($3100 FD|$4400 DK), Jesse Winker ($2800 FD|$4100 DK), Eugenio Suarez ($3900 FD|$5100 DK), and Joey Votto ($3300 FD|$4000 DK). Value: Scooter Gennett ($2600 FD|$3400 DK) has been making good contact leading up to tonight’s game and he’s way too cheap on both sites.

Daily Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Jordan Zimmermann (DET): 6.60 Runs

**Low Risk

Jordan Zimmermann is on the mound tonight for the Tigers and he is B-A-D. He owns a 7.57 ERA, 4.88 FIP, and 5.35 SIERA. Although he is worse vs. left handed batting, he is no angel to righties. They are slashing to a .358 wOBA, .530 SLG, and .345 OBP while he has allowed 27 earned runs over 31 innings pitched to them. Zimmermann basically allows one earned run per inning pitched so roll out the Angels with confidence this evening. They are slashing to a .315 wOBA, .205 ISO, and 99 WRC+ over the last month.

Preferred Stack: Shohei Ohtani ($4200 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Upton ($3600 FD|$4000 DK), Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5700 DK), and Albert Pujols ($3100 FD|$4400 DK).

Daily Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers

vs. RHP Jon Gray (LAD): 6.90 Runs

**Moderate Risk

No one is reinventing the wheel by playing either one of these teams at Coors tonight. This game will be highly owned as the Coors matchups typically are. The salaries are too high so we can’t stack both unless you’re okay with pitching Pannone and we’re not going to go there. Jon Gray has closed the gap in his splits and has actually fared decent at home. He is allowing batters to slash to a .333 wOBA, .463 SLG, and .336 OBP. He has allowed 24 earned runs and seven home runs over 55 innings pitched. Most will target the high power lefties like Max Muncy or Cody Bellinger and those plays are great, but you can easily differentiate from the field and play guys like A.J. Pollock and Justin Turner. The Dodgers are slashing to a slate high .381 wOBA, .281 ISO, and 140 WRC+ right now.

Preferred Plays: Justin Turner ($4300 FD|$5200 DK), Max Muncy ($5600 FD|$4500 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4900 FD|$5800 DK), and Alex Verdugo ($3100 FD|$4500 DK). Don’t forget about Joc Pederson ($4200 FD|$5300 DK) and A.J. Pollock ($3800 FD|$4400 DK).

Honorable Mention

Daily Fantasy Stack: Kansas City Royals

vs. LHP Thomas Pannone (TOR): 5.25 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Jorge Soler($3100 FD|$4300 DK), Whit Merrifield ($3400 FD|$4900 DK), Hunter Dozier ($3200 FD|$4500 DK), and Chelsor Cuthbert ($2900 FD|$3800 DK).

Daily Fantasy Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Kenta Maeda (LAD): 6.20 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Charlie Blackmon ($4500 FD|$5500 DK), David Dahl ($3400 FD|$4800 DK), Daniel Murphy ($3600 FD|$4700 DK), and Tony Wolters ($2500 FD|$3100 DK).

Pitching

  2. Jaime Barria RHP (LAA): 3.90 Runs
  3. Caleb Smith LHP (MIA): 3.75 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s 10-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

MLB Fantasy Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. RHP Ivan Nova (CWS): 6.00 Runs

**Moderate Risk

I know the Twins let a lot of us down last night. I also know Nova has put on some off the wall performances that may cause others to rethink whether or not they want to go here tonight. I have no problems going back here, we all know how bad Ivan Nova can be. Nova carries a 5.49 ERA, 5.34 FIP, and 5.03 SIERA. He has allowed batters to slash to a .359 wOBA, .526 SLG, and .340 OBP at home this season. When pitching at home, Nova’s ERA goes from a 5.12 road average to 6.02. He has allowed 33 earned runs and 11 home runs over 49.1 innings pitched at home. The Twins continue to hit well, slashing to a .382 wOBA, .252 ISO, and 139 WRC+. I hate to use such a small sample, but four batters in the Twins lineup have an OPS of 1.000 or greater against Nova this season.

Preferred Stack: Nelson Cruz ($4400 FD|$5600 DK), Jorge Polanco ($3500 FD|$4800 DK), Max Kepler ($3700 FD|$5100 DK), and Miguel Sano ($3700 FD|$5100 DK). Jason Castro ($2700 FD|$4200 DK) and Luis Arraez ($2900 FD|$4200 DK) make excellent value plays once again.

MLB Fantasy Stack: Cleveland Indians

vs. RHP Glenn Sparkman (KCR): 5.70 Runs

**High Risk

Cleveland Indians have slumped off a bit after going on a heater for a few weeks. They look to have returned to form last night, scoring eight earned runs. Sparkman carries a 4.67 ERA, 5.64 FIP, and 5.47 SIERA. He has the worst contact % on the slate at 84.7. He is only inducing a 7.4% swinging strike rate. The only downside to a Cleveland stack today is Sparkman’s home/road splits. Compared to his atrocious road averages, he is absolutely stellar at home. He carries a 1.76 ERA and allows batters to slash a measly .256 wOBA, .328 SLG, and .265 OBP. He has only allowed nine earned runs and four home runs over 40 innings pitched. With these kind of splits at home I can definitely see a hedge with Sparkman as well if you want to take a shot in tournaments. The Indians are slashing to a .337 wOBA, .187 ISO, and 106 WRC+ over the last month.

Preferred Plays: Carlos Santana ($3700 FD|$4300 DK), Francisco Lindor ($4200 FD|$5300 DK), Roberto Perez($2900 FD|$3500 DK), and Jose Ramirez ($4000 FD|$4600 DK). Greg Allen ($2500 FD|$3900 DK) and Tyler Naquin ($2900 FD|$4100 DK) for value.

MLB Fantasy Stack: Oakland Athletics

vs. RHP Adrian Sampson (TEX): 5.30 Runs

**Low Risk

Adrian Sampson has come back down to earth recently, getting tagged for five or more runs in his last two starts. He carries a 5.19 ERA, 5.00 FIP, and 4.63 SIERA on the year. Sampson is allowing 1.76 HR/9 and a 48% hard contact rate. He is allowing 80% contact and struggles mightily to right handed batters. They are slashing to a .388 wOBA, .581 SLG, and .360 OBP. Sampson has allowed 32 earned runs and 13 home runs over 55.1 innings pitched to righties. The Athletics are slashing to a .339 wOBA, .217 ISO, and 115 WRC+ over the last month. Sampson throws a ton of sinker (55% usage) and slider (31% usage). Batters 1-4 in this projected Athletics lineup are all hitting .200 ISO or better against Sampson’s two most frequently used pitches.

Preferred Plays: Mark Canha ($2800 FD|$4300 DK), Ramon Laureano ($3100 FD|$4700 DK), Matt Olson ($3700 FD|$4500 DK), and Marcus Semien($3200 FD|$4400 DK).

Honorable Mention

MLB Fantasy Stack: New York Mets

vs. RHP Trevor Williams (PIT): 4.85 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Jeff McNeil ($3600 FD|$4600 DK), Pete Alonso ($4100 FD|$5100 DK), and Michael Conforto ($3500 FD|$4200 DK). Dominic Smith ($2300 FD|$4200 DK) and Robinson Cano ($2700 FD|$3700 DK) for value.

MLB Fantasy Stack: Atlanta Braves

vs. RHP Zach Eflin (PHI): 5.20 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Freddie Freeman ($4100 FD|$5200 DK), Josh Donaldson ($3800 FD|$4800 DK), and Ronald Acuna Jr. ($4300 FD|$5300 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Baltimore Orioles

vs. RHP Dillon Peters (LAA): UPDATE

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Anthony Santander ($3300 FD|$4400 DK), Renato Nunez ($3400 FD|$4100 DK), Trey Mancini ($3900 FD|$4600 DK), and Dwight Smith Jr. ($2900 FD|$3600 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Aaron Brooks (BAL): UPDATE

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Shohei Ohtani ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), Mike Trout ($5000 FD|$5700 DK), Kole Calhoun ($3500 FD|$4700 DK).

Pitching

Breakfast will never be the same in the household of the Hillmansafter what happened on the morning of Saturday, July 13. Will the Herndon,Virginia family ever see such excitement again? Some future DraftKings resultscan only determine the answer to that question.

Steve Hillman, a 45 year-old real estate appraiser, was serving his daughter breakfast when he checked  his Twitter direct messages and had received a congratulatory note that he had won a qualifier to the DraftKings 2019 Fantasy Baseball World Championship. Steve had discovered he was going to Chicago in mid-August and would have his chance to compete for a $500,000 Grand Prize.

“I started jumping up and down,” he said. “I kind ofscreamed and said ‘we did it!’”

Hillman won one of 100 seats in the August 17 competition. He will get a three-night VIP experience at the Live Final. But this is notHillman’s first trip to such a prestigious event. He has been to four FanDuellive finals in the past, and finished seventh in 2018, garnering $25,000.Winning it all is his goal, but he’s not finished trying to increase his odds.

“I won’t complain if I finish seventh again, because the DraftKingspayout is pretty high ($100,000). But winning it all would be such a greataccomplishment. That first spot gets you half a million dollars, so I am goingto try and win another seat,” he said.

Hillman can qualify for the FWBC up to four more times untilAugust 12. He estimates he has been playing Fantasy Sports over 30 years. “Sincethe days of getting box scores from the newspapers,” he said. He startedplaying DFS in late 2014, and in 2016, he said he started to take coachinglessons from a DFS Pro. Yet despite his latest trip to a live event, he is humbleand says he is no “DFS Pro” himself.

“I just do this as a hobby,” he said, shooting down talkthat he is on the level of some of the top players he will be joining inChicago soon.

But his July 12 DraftKings results say otherwise. Hillman scored 213.05 points to finish first in Qualifier No. 63, winning $1,000 and beating out 322 other participants. He completed the feat riding the emotional night in Los Angeles, as the Angels honored the memory of Tyler Skaggs with a 13-0 win over the Mariners, which included a combined no-hitter.

DraftKings: Steve Hillman July 12 Lineup
Steve Hillman’s July 12 lineup on DraftKings

Hillman ran a four-man Angels stack, and he was rewardedwith a 40-point night from Mike Trout, who homered and had six RBI. JustinUpton also homered that night and finished with 21 points. Andrelton Simmonshad three hits and three runs scored and Shohei Ohtani added seven points.

“I had three other lineups that night, but that was the oneI kept tinkering with,” he said. “I was thinking the Angels stack did not havea chance. Tampa Bay also went off for 16 runs that night against Baltimore.”

Hillman did have a very successful investment in the Rays16-4 victory, though. It was from the pitching side. Yonny Chirinos was only 2.2percent owned on DraftKings, but Hillman used him as one of his two startingpitchers. Chirinos rewarded Hillman with 29.35 points, striking out eight andallowing two runs on four hits in seven innings of work.

“I thought Chirinos was going to be a much more popularchoice,” Hillman said. “When the late games started, I thought I was not goingto have a chance.”

Hillman went to bed before the Mariners-Angels game ended, not knowing he had indeed built the ideal lineup. He did not feel comfortablewith his roster construction, because he didn’t support the Angels quartet witha mini-stack. Instead, he used four one-offs.

“That was rare for me,” he said.

But his singular selections worked out well enough. DanielMurphy (24 DraftKings points) doubled and homered. Manny Machado (19) had a homerand three hits. Jurickson Profar (14) chipped in with a HR  and Travis d’Arnaud (12) added a pair of hits.

“It was the Angels stack that really went off,” Hillmansaid.” Some of my other guys weren’t nearly as high scoring.”

So now Hillman gets another trip to a live final, and hisexperience serves him well as he prepares for it. He is not letting theupcoming event affect his usual Daily Fantasy Sports approach.

“I will try to treat every day between now and then as I wouldany other day,” he said. “I am not going to put any kind of different level ofpressure on myself on any other lineup I do. Every day is a new, different dayand I will try to not let little mistakes here and there get into the back ofmy head.”

It’s a mindset that has worked for Hillman already, andcould work again before August 17, as he continues to attempt to win morequalifying tickets for the DraftKings FBWC.

His family will certainly be on alert now at the breakfast table. More exciting news could indeed come at any time between now and August 12. But the morning meal on August 18 in Chicago could potentially top all others.

These DFS MLB Picks are from Pro Wes Passinault, who recently won a seat in the 2019 World Fantasy Baseball Championship on FanDuel.

Welcome Back to MLB DFS!  It was a long break and I don’t know about anyone else, but I always feel lost during the break.  This year I tried to fill the time with NBA Summer League, Tennis, and WNBA. That being said, I learned a lot this week.  In this article I will go over my top DFS MLB Picks of the day for both pitching and hitting on FanDuel.  On the pitching side, I will pick my top end option along with my favorite salary saver on the board to help you get those expensive bats. On the hitting side, I will provide my favorite hitting stacks and value bats.

Pro MLB DFS Picks: Pitchers

Starting Pitcher

Top Overall ArmGerrit Cole ($11,400 FD).  Cole has K rate of 36.7% in 2019 and the Texas lineup strikes out 23.8% of the time vs. righties.  He’s actually better against Lefties with a 39.3% K rate and should see seven of them. The implied run total of 4.11 for Texas seems high but likely reflects the great hitting weather.  This will only lower his ownership. There are only two bats in the Ranger’s lineup that scare me and that’s Choo and Gallo. However, Gallo also strikes out at 35.9% clip against Righties so this lessens my concern.  The Rangers will likely score a few runs but Cole has massive K upside against this lineup to more than make up for it and he is again among the prime MLB DFS Picks.

Salary SaverYonny Chirinos ($6,800 FD).  He gets Baltimore tonight which is a boost for any pitcher you are considering in MLB DFS Picks.  He has a swinging strike rate of 10.3% and a walk rate of just 5.7%.  This should allow him to pitch deeper into the game to provide a Quality Start and Win equity.  His K rate is only 20.9% on the season, however, he has shown much higher strikeout upside lately registering 7, 7, 6, 7, 6, 3, 5, 5 Ks in his last eight starts. When I see this heading into the All-Star break I see a pitcher who was finding his stride and may have just sputtered a bit.  He should be fully rested and I expect him to be the best points per dollar pitcher on the board. This will help us get to those more expensive bats tonight.

Pro MLB DFS Picks: Hitters

Top Stack – The Angels’ Trout, Ohtani, Upton, and Bour are my top MLB DFS Picks stack of the day.  The ISOs for this group against Righties is .382, .301, .270, and .241, respectively.  The best part of this stack is that once they knock Leake out of the game, one of the worst bullpens in MLB will take over in a decent hitter’s park.  I may consider moving down from Ohtani to Calhoun if needed to get Hunter Renfroe in my lineups. He is one of the top plays on the slate.

Pro MLB DFS Picks: Top Value Bats – J.D Davis will likely bat 3rd against Caleb Smith at $2,200.  He has a .200 ISO against left handed pitching.  Victor Reyes has been hitting leadoff for Detroit and is only $2,500.  He gets Danny Duffy, who has always been able to flash upside but not consistently enough to avoid.  Kevin Kiermaier is my next favorite value hitter. He’s $2,800 with plenty of home run (.219 ISO) and stolen base upside with 17 thefts on the year.  Also, I’m currently expecting him to bat 3rd in the lineup today for the Rays.  Bundy has been better this year, but I’ll stay on the side of the larger sample size.  Franklin Baretto ($2,200) and Ehire Adrianza ($2,200) round out my value plays for today.

Pro DFS MLB Picks: Closing Thoughts

I have a special place in my DFS heart for Ehire Adrianza and Yonny Chirinos since it was those two and bats from Coors that put me in the 2019 FanDuel WFBC on June 28.  This slate matches up much of the same way. I believe it can be won the same way since there are plenty of other great spots to find hitters and that will reduce ownership at Coors.  However, I took my DFS MLB Picks stand on the Angels bats because I believe in hitters against bad bullpens.

Welcome back everyone! I know we have a few “new” guys on the Win Daily staff, as well as a few subscribers. I just wanted to welcome all of you. This report will provide recommended DFS stacks for today’s 13-game main slate.

**Please check back this afternoon between 5-6pm EST. Possible updates to lines once starting lineups are released.

New York Yankees

vs. RHP Aaron Sanchez (TOR): 7.10 Runs

The Yankees lost two games in a row going into the All-Star break and had only lost two in their previous 18. They are clearly the best team in baseball right now, boasting a 6.5 game lead on the Rays and 9.0 on the Red Sox. We all know how tricky the AL East can be after the break. These teams can close the gap rather quickly given their talents. Look for the Yankees to keep their foot on the gas and truck their way into the post season. Aaron Sanchez carries a 6.16 ERA, 5.56 FIP, and 5.57 SIERA into tonight’s game. His splits are identical, holding .a 361 wOBA, .391 OBP, and .451 OBP on the year. Coming out of the break, The Yankees are slashing to a .364 wOBA, .247 ISO, and 126 WRC+. They are hitting well above their season averages.

Preferred DFS Stacks Build: Aaron Hicks ($3700 FD|$4400 DK), Aaron Judge ($4400 FD|$4800 DK), D.J. LeMahieu ($4200 FD|$5300 DK), Gleyber Torres ($3400 FD|$4800 DK), and Brett Gardner ($2800 FD|$4700 DK).

Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Mike Leake (SEA): 5.60 Runs

Mike Leake hasn’t been awful this season, carrying a 4.32 ERA, 4.89 FIP, and 4.55 SIERA into tonight’s game. These +4.00 ERA stat lines seem more of the norm this season with the elevated scoring. Leake has identical splits, holding a .330 wOBA, .303 OBP, and .493 SLG through 114. innings pitched. He has the displeasure of facing an Angels team who hold the lowest strikeout rate in MLB. They average 6.87 strikeouts per game on the year. The Angels are slashing .to a 321 wOBA, .191 ISO, and .458 SLG to right handed pitching over a two week span coming out of the break.

Preferred DFS Stacks Build: Mike Trout ($4700 FD|$5300 DK), Shohei Ohtani ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), and Justin Upton ($3500 FD|$3800 DK).

Milwaukee Brewers

vs. RHP Shaun Anderson (SFG): 5.60 Runs

Shaun Anderson heads into tonight’s matchup holding a 4.23 ERA, 4.38 FIP, and 5.28 SIERA through 55 innings pitched. He has identical splits with a .320 wOBA, .331 OBP, and .417 SLG. I’m really hoping for a healthy Christian Yelich here tonight as he has been experiencing some lower back discomfort on and off this season. The Brewers come out of the break slashing to a .297 wOBA, .223 ISO, and .423 SLG to right handed pitching. The Brewers are only a half game back on the Cubs, who actively seem to be trying to hand the Brewers the division, but they have been having issues of their own. An unhealthy Yelich certainly does not give this lineup a ton of appeal. Look for the Brewers to get it together coming off the break.

Preferred DFS Stacks Build: Christian Yelich ($4800 FD|$5200 DK), Eric Thames ($3200 FD|$4800 DK), Yasmani Grandal ($3500 FD|$4900 DK), and Mike Moustakas ($3900 FD|$4700 DK) if you prefer a full stack on FD.

Honorable DFS Stacks Mentions

San Diego Padres vs. LHP Dallas Keuchel (ATL): 4.30 Runs

Preferred Stack: Hunter Renfroe ($3000 FD|$4700 DK), Manny Machado ($3900 FD|$4100 DK), and Manuel Margot ($2600 FD|$3600 DK).

Oakland A’s vs. RHP Ivan Nova (CHW): 5.60 Runs

Preferred Stack: Matt Chapman ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), Matt Olson ($3800 FD|$5100 DK), Mark Canha ($2800 FD|$4300 DK), and Ramon Laureano ($3100 FD|$4500 DK).

St. Louis Cardinals vs. LHP Robbie Ray (ARZ): 4.50 Runs

Preferred Stack: Paul Goldschmidt ($3200 FD|$3800 DK), Jose Martinez ($2800 FD|$3500 DK), and Dexter Fowler ($2900 FD|$3700 DK).

This report will provide stacks that I recommend for today’s 7 game main slate. I’ve also included my favorite one-offs and value plays.

Houston Astros Stack

vs. LHP Andrew Heaney (LAA): 5.70 Runs

This is a play you’re not going to be able to get away from tonight. Andrew Heaney carries a 5.40 ERA, 5.39 FIP, and 4.20 SIERA through 36.2 innings pitched. Through 27 innings pitched, right handed batters are slashing .319 wOBA, .449 SLG, and to a .304 OBP against Heaney. The Astros have been hitting very well recently, slashing .374 wOBA, .204 ISO, and a .516 SLG. Smaller slate tonight so ownership will be a lot more concentrated on the Astros but it is good chalk and I’m perfectly fine with eating it.

Preferred Stack: (in order of preference) Jose Altuve $3700 FD|$4200 DK, Alex Bregman $4300 FD|$5000 DK, Yordan Alvarez $4100 FD|$4800 DK, Yuli Gurriel $3400|$4400, and Robinson Chirinos $3100 FD|$3800 DK. George Springer ($4400 FD|$5400 DK) is my last choice for higher priced guys but if you’re playing multiple lines I would definitely have exposure.

New York Mets Stack

vs. RHP Jake Arrieta (PHI): 5.00 Runs

I’ve eagerly awaited a solid left handed power hitting team to go against Jake Arrieta since those string of rainouts in Washington a few weeks back. He carries 4.43 ERA, 5.15 FIP, and a 4.85 SIERA into tonight’s game. He is absolutely terrible to left handed batters. They are slashing .383 wOBA, .535 SLG, and to a .386 OBP through 43.0 innings pitched. He has surrendered 27 earned runs and 11 home runs over that same span. The Mets are hitting to a tune of .313 wOBA, .181 ISO, and 101 WRC+ over the last two weeks, slightly above their season averages. Be weary of the weather here tonight.

Preferred Stack:(in order of preference) Jeff McNeil $3600 FD|$4900 DK, Dominic Smith $2600 FD|$4900 DK, Pete Alonso $3600 FD|$4900 DK, Michael Conforto $3500 FD|$4400 DK, and Todd Frazier $3000 FD|$4100 DK.

Oakland Athletics Stack

vs. LHP Marco Gonzales (SEA): 5.15 Runs

Marco Gonzales carries a 4.39 ERA, 4.11 FIP, and 5.14 SIERA into tonight’s game. He has fairly identical splits with a .324 wOBA, .444 SLG, and .327 OBP through 78.1 innings pitched against right handed batters. Most should be focused on that Astros stack and probably spending down for some cheap Cardinals so we have a chance to catch the A’s at low ownership. I didn’t list them, but I know they let down a lot of people last night. The A’s are slashing to a .349 wOBA, .223 ISO, and .499 SLG vs. left handed pitching this season. The team as a whole has been in a bit of a hitting slump over the last two weeks, slashing to a .246 wOBA, .112 ISO, and .303 SLG in that time span. I always feel like Oakland is pretty risky, but I’ll go there in GPPs tonight.

Preferred Stack:(in order of preference) Matt Olson $3400 FD|$4700 DK, Marcus Semien $3700 FD|$4300 DK, Josh Phegley $2600 FD|$4700 DK. Matt Chapman $3800 FD|$4500 DK ,and Ramon Laureano $3000 FD|$4100 DK.

One-offs and Value Plays

Josh Phegley (OAK) $2600 FD| $3700 DK, Robinson Chirinos (HOU) $3100 FD| $3800 DK, Hunter Renfroe (SDP) $2700 FD, Jose Martinez (STL) $2700 FD|$3500 DK, Paul Goldschmidt (STL) $3000 FD|$3400 DK, and Brad Miller (PHI) $2000 FD|$3500 DK.
