It’s been a long break between periods but the NHL and the Hot Shot are back! Tonight, we have a nice six-game slate, not overwhelming but by the same token we have few limitations in terms of lineup builds. Aside from reading this 10/11 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

10/11 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings Sportsbook and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Montreal Canadiens (+240) at Toronto Maple Leafs (-298)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Ottawa Senators (+170) at Carolina Hurricanes (-205)6 Projected Goal Total

Chicago Blackhawks (+245) at Boston Bruins (-305)6 Projected Goal Total

Winnipeg Jets (+114) at Calgary Flames (-135)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Edmonton Oilers (-162) at Vancouver Canucks (+136)7 Projected Goal Total

Colorado Avalanche (-110) at Los Angeles Kings (-110)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Edmonton Two – “Leon Draisaitl ($8,600), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins ($5,100), Zach Hyman ($5,800)”

It is opening night for most teams and we don’t have any current stats to work off of. However, this game should feature considerable scoring as the seven total indicates. Edmonton comes in -162 road favorites and the expectation is we see the same old Oilers capable of piling up the points. Between the two top lines, I prefer the second as not only is it the more balanced line but all three skaters share additional correlation on the top power-play unit to start the season.

10/11 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Vancouver Two – “J.T. Miller ($6,800), Brock Boeser ($4,400), Phil Di Giuseppe ($3,100)”

Let’s bring it back with a game stack! Most people will gravitate to the top lines belonging to the night’s favorites. However, Edmonton gives up goals with the best of them so I don’t mind bringing their top line back. We also get a little bit of much-needed salary relief in the process in the form of Phil Di Giuseppe. This line features two skaters on the Canuck’s top power-play unit and should have some chemistry having played together as a full line for most of last season.

Defensemen and Goalies

Defensemen

John Klingberg – Toronto – $3,200 – John Klingberg finds himself usurping Morgan Rielly as the Leaf’s top offensive defenseman. The crafty veteran has found a solid landing spot. He is priced like a punt at $3,200 so a very easy play tonight.

Evan Bouchard – Edmonton -$6,100 – He should just fall into points given his prominent role on Edmonton’s top line and top power-play unit.

Goalies

Linus Ullmark – Boston – $8,500 – I think Chicago finds a way to pepper him with enough shot volume. However, they fall short in terms of getting these shots past the Boston goaltender. With Boston -305 money line favorites and with a six total, Ullmark gives us our best shot at a shutout win.

Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg – $7,500 – I just can’t quit Hellebuyck but this shapes up as a solid matchup for our man with some upside to boot.

10/11 NHL Best Bet

Boston -1.5 (-105) – DraftKings – 1 Unit

It just seems like it might be a big ask for young Conor Bedard and the Blackhawks to tame the mighty Bruins. Particularly, on the second night of a road back-to-back. Chicago is living life on high after an opening night win but it will be back to earth for them tonight. Boston will probably want to come out with a fury given their first-round playoff exit following a historic season.

It’s been quite a ride. Through the best of times, the worst of times. Many periods later we find ourselves here on the final day of the NHL regular season. There are fifteen games on this giant slate so without further adieu, let’s dig in below. Aside from reading the 4/13 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

4/13 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

New Jersey Devils (-175) at Washington Capitals (+150)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Boston Bruins (-275) at Montreal Canadiens (+230)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Pittsburgh Penguins (-170) at Columbus Blue Jackets (+145)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Carolina Hurricanes (+100) at Florida Panthers (-120)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Toronto Maple Leafs (+110) at New York Rangers (-130)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Ottawa Senators (+115) at Buffalo Sabres (-135)7 Projected Goal Total

Detroit Red Wings (+200) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-240)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Minnesota Wild (-110) at Nashville Predators (-110)5.5 Projected Goal Total

Winnipeg Jets (+135) at Colorado Avalanche (-155)6 Projected Goal Total

St. Louis Blues (+190) at Dallas Stars (-225)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Philadelphia Flyers (-120) at Chicago Blackhawks (+100)6 Projected Goal Total

San Jose Sharks (+350) at Edmonton Oilers (-435)7 Projected Goal Total

Los Angeles Kings (-225) at Anaheim Ducks (+190)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Vancouver Canucks (-150) at Arizona Coyotes (+130)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Vegas Golden Knights (-120) at Seattle Kraken (+100)6 Projected Goal Total

4/13 NHL Favorite Line

Edmonton One – “Connor McDavid ($10,200), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins ($7,100)(TWO-MAN STACK)

Even on such a huge slate, Edmonton sticks out. The Oilers are -435 money-line favorites in a seven-goal game. With their prices, of course, you’re instantly in a stars and scrubs situation salary-wise. However, on this large of a slate, we can find value elsewhere. So now it comes down to which Edmonton line you want to target, first, second, or a power-play combination. My lean is with the top line as they represent 3/5 top power-play skaters as opposed to solely one. However, Zach Hyman has had a very low ceiling recently and is expensive much like the other two skaters. I like the two-man build with Conor McDavid and RNH and we can look to save money on other spots.

4/13 NHL Second Favorite Line

Pittsburgh One – “Sidney Crosby ($7,900), Jake Guentzel ($7,500), Rikard Rakell ($6,100)”

It may be too little, too late for the Penguin’s playoff hopes. However, that probably won’t stop them from taking out their frustrations on the Blue Jackets. I’d say abysmal may be a kind way to describe Columbus at the moment. They come in losers of four straight with a goal differential of -114 for the season “second worst in the NHL this season”. Pittsburgh’s top line has been absolutely smashing both in terms of actual goals and peripheral stats. They have eight goals in their last ten games “tied for second in the NHL” and are second in SATF over that span “129”. I don’t know how much I really have to add here given the matchup. The Blue Jackets will just be happy the season is over and look not to surrender 7-8 goals.

10-Day Sample Size – Goals Scored

4/13 NHL Third Favorite Line

Buffalo Two – “Tage Thompson ($8,100), Dylan Cozens ($5,800), Jordan Greenway ($2,700)”

The Sabres defied expectations this season despite falling short of a playoff spot. On the final day of the regular season, they find themselves in a cushy seven-total matchup versus Ottawa. Of course, let’s turn to Buffalo’s second line over their top line. I mean what is playing Sabres in DFS if you don’t have Tage Thompson in there? Jordan Greenway is usable for salary relief. Considering how expensive the Edmonton combo and Pittsburgh lines listed above are, he may come in necessary if following the article. If you wanted a really unique build you could bring it back with Senators for a game stack. Ottawa’s top line is seventh among all NHL lines in SATF over the last ten games.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “includes all shot attempts such as blocked shots and missed shots”

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Devon Toews – Colorado – $5,500 – He continues to be a nightly lock under $6,000 with Cale Makar out until at least the playoffs. Don’t overthink it.

Goalie

Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators – $7,300 – The Predators may be eliminated now. However, Saros has been on absolute fire as of late. His price is very fair as well, hovering just over $7,000. Considering this is a 5.5 total affair, it’s safe to say it probably won’t be any shootout.

4/13 NHL Best Bet

Florida Panthers (-120) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – Because I just know they will ruin things for the Islanders. The Panthers are just too hot right now (6-3-1 last ten games) to pass up in that sort of raucous home atmosphere.

Rarely this season have we seen the likes of a FOURTEEN game slate. It’s hard to settle on one or two spots tonight and thus we have you covered with a number of possible options. Aside from reading the 4/6 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

4/6 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Toronto Maple Leafs (+135) at Boston Bruins (-155)6 Projected Goal Total

Washington Capitals (-165) at Montreal Canadiens (+140)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Buffalo Sabres (-110) at Detroit Red Wings (-110)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Ottawa Senators (+200) at Florida Panthers (-240)7 Projected Goal Total

Columbus Blue Jackets (+320) at New Jersey Devils (-390)7 Projected Goal Total

Minnesota Wild (+105) at Pittsburgh Penguins (-125)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Tampa Bay Lightning (-105) at New York Islanders (-115)5.5 Projected Goal Total

Carolina Hurricanes (-175) at Nashville Predators (+150)5.5 Projected Goal Total

New York Rangers (-150) at St. Louis Blues (+130)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Philadelphia Flyers (+230) at Dallas Stars (-275)6 Projected Goal Total

Chicago Blackhawks (+170) at Vancouver Canucks (-200)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Los Angeles Kings (+120) at Las Vegas Golden Knights (-140)6 Projected Goal Total

Arizona Coyotes (+290) at Seattle Kraken (-350)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Colorado Avalanche (-230) at San Jose Sharks (+195)6.5 Projected Goal Total

4/6 NHL Favorite Line

New Jersey Two – “Jack Hughes ($8,500), Jesper Bratt ($5,400), Ondrej Palat ($3,600)”

I don’t think ownership really matters here with fourteen games, so I’ll do away with the whole Popular/Contrarian concept. Jack Hughes and the Devils have slowed their roll over the second half of the season after a very hot start. However, tonight they get to face off with the putrid Columbus Blue Jackets “more below”.

Not surprisingly, given Columbus’ struggles, New Jersey is a hefty -390 money-line favorite in this seven-total affair. Their 89 SATF over the last ten games is good for nineteenth among NHL lines over that span. More than anything else this is a matter of targeting the matchup. I mean, even the Montreal Canadiens were able to drop eight on the Blue Jackets within the last few weeks. I would not be surprised to see the Devil’s second line explode here.

4/6 NHL Second Favorite Line

Florida One – “Aleksandr Barkov ($7,500), Carter Verhaeghe ($7,300), Anthony Duclair ($4,300)”

It might be chasing but we picked the wrong Florida line last time out. They beat the Blue Jackets up 7-0 in Columbus just five days ago and Carter Verhaeghe scored four goals. While that sort of output is an anomaly, I think it is fair to say the Panthers are expected to score a few here as the total and -240 money line status both indicate.

The Panthers certainly have a lot to play for at the moment as well. Currently, they are one of three teams competing for two Eastern Conference wild-card spots. While Matthew Tkachuk is enticing, the rest of the second line is lacking. As a result, let’s turn to the top line and hope that a few days ago, it was the start of something special. Anthony Duclair has yet to break out since his return but this is the sort of matchup that might do the trick. If running this as a two-man stack, he would be the odd man out.

4/6 NHL Honorable Mentions “Two-Man Stacks”

Vancouver Two – “J.T. Miller ($6,600), Brock Boeser ($5,100)

Two skaters who are building blocks of the Canucks and in fine form as you can see from the graphic below. They are currently tied for second in the NHL in SATF over the last ten games. Vancouver is a -200 favorite against the Blackhawks in a 6.5 total matchup. I don’t need if we really need to go to Phil Di Guiseppe and a full three-man line here on such a big slate.

Seattle One – “Matthew Beniers ($5,000), Jared McCann ($5,900)”

The Kraken are -350 favorites in a 6.5 total matchup vs. the Coyotes. Much like all of the aforementioned lines you get the point. This line is also tied with the line listed above for second in the NHL in SATF over the last ten games. However, I am leaving off Jordan Eberle. It just looks like he’s not going to find the sort of form he had his first year in Seattle or previously with the Islanders. If he was $3,600 sure not for the $5,000 price which is around the same as the two listed skaters.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “includes all shot attempts such as blocked shots and missed shots”.

Defensemen and Goalies

Defensemen

Devon Toews – Colorado – $4,900 “if Cale Makar is out, my top play”, Jake Sanderson – Ottawa – $4,900, J.J. Moser – Arizona – $3,600, Mark Giordano – Toronto – $3,500

Goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury – Minnesota – $7,600 – The flower has smelled sweet as of late, winner of his last eight of ten starts. He draws a homecoming of sorts here against the Penguins for a very fair price.

Alex Lyon – Florida – $7,700 – Winner of his four last starts, Lyon is a man on a mission. Florida is favored here, but I think Ottawa should put up a fair amount of shots. Therefore, maybe we can grab the best of both worlds for under $8,000.

Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders – $7,400 – Great price on a potential Vezina winner like Sorokin. It’s a tough matchup but Vasilevskiy isn’t in the opposing net and the Islanders are favored.

Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators – $7,100 – A hit-or-miss option but great for tournaments. Carolina tends to overwhelm a bit in favored spots. Even if the Hurricanes win, it could be close and low scoring. Prior to a stinker Monday night in Dallas, he was coming off three strong starts.

4/6 NHL Best Bet

Los Angeles Kings (+120) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – Let’s take the plus money on what should be a great game to watch.

Aside from reading the 4/1 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

4/1 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Florida Panthers (-215) at Columbus Blue Jackets (+185)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Carolina Hurricanes (-265) at Montreal Canadiens (+225)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Buffalo Sabres (-120) at Philadelphia Flyers (+100)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Toronto Maple Leafs (-140) at Ottawa Senators (+120)6.5 Projected Goal Total

New York Islanders (+130) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-150)6 Projected Goal Total

New Jersey Devils (-315) at Chicago Blackhawks (+260)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Dallas Stars (+120) at Colorado Avalanche (-140)6 Projected Goal Total

San Jose Sharks (-115) at Arizona Coyotes (-105)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Anaheim Ducks (+360) at Edmonton Oilers (-450)7 Projected Goal Total

Los Angeles Kings (-105) at Seattle Kraken (-115)6 Projected Goal Total

Minnesota Wild (-105) at Vegas Golden Knights (-115)6 Projected Goal Total

Florida Two – “Anton Lundell ($3,600), Matthew Tkachuk ($8,700), Eetu Luostarinen ($3,700)”

It might be chasing a bit following a Matthew Tkachuk hat trick. However, Florida finds itself in a great spot against the defensively deficient Blue Jackets. The Panthers are -215 road favorites and are coming in with a bit of momentum. On this big of a slate, I think you run this as a two-man line. Obviously, Tkachuk would be part of any two-man build. From there you could flex either or. The ownership should be fairly spread out with a bunch of big favorites on the slate. With that in mind, two-man stacks should be optimal as we attempt the “capture” method.

4/1 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

New York Islanders One – “Pierre Engvall ($3,200), Kyle Palmieri ($4,400), Brock Nelson ($5,900)”

Call me a homer. The Islanders are +130 underdogs in a 6 total matchup. As a result, they will be very, very low-owned. However, this line is hot right now, especially Kyle Palmieri. This man usually tends to save his best work for the end of each season. So far, it seems like 2023 is no different. Much like with Florida Two above, I think once again we turn to a two-man. You would be using Palmieri along with one of the other skaters. Over the last ten games, the Islanders’ top line is eighth in the NHL in SATF “97”.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Jake Sanderson – Ottawa – $4,800 – Thomas Chabot remains out for at least two weeks. Let’s keep the Sanderson train rolling.

Goalie

Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars – $7,400 – Oettinger has a tough matchup with the Avalanche. However, we can expect to face sufficient shot volume. Given his stellar 2.47 GAA and .917 SV% and he has tournament-winning upside on this slate.

4/1 NHL Best Bet

New York Islanders (+130) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – Whereas Tampa has been stumbling as of late, the Islanders have been stepping their game up. Let’s take the plus odds!

With only two weeks left in the regular season, we’re not looking at too many more slates like tonight. There are eleven games on tap mostly with high totals. Aside from reading the 3/30 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

3/30 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Florida Panthers (-215) at Montreal Canadiens (+185)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Columbus Blue Jackets (+350) at Boston Bruins (-435)6.5 Projected Goal Total

New York Rangers (+110) at New Jersey Devils (-130)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Philadelphia Flyers (+135) at Ottawa Senators (-155)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Nashville Predators (+165) at Pittsburgh Penguins (-195)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Carolina Hurricanes (-215) at Detroit Red Wings (+185)6 Projected Goal Total

Washington Capitals (+160) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-190)6 Projected Goal Total

St. Louis Blues (-150) at Chicago Blackhawks (+130)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Los Angeles Kings (+135) at Edmonton Oilers (-155)7 Projected Goal Total

Anaheim Ducks (+260) at Seattle Kraken (-315)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Vegas Golden Knights (-190) at San Jose Sharks (+160)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Pittsburgh One – “Sidney Crosby ($7,500), Jake Guentzel ($7,200), Bryan Rust ($5,100)”

The Penguins are knee-deep in the playoff race, looking to maintain an edge over the Florida Panthers. They have a good chance to add some room to breathe tonight hosting Nashville. Pittsburgh is a -190 home favorite and the total is set at 6.5. In terms of peripheral stats, as of late the Pen’s top line is killing it. They lead all NHL lines in SATF over the last ten games (131). They only have three goals for their efforts but if they keep things up, should be in line for positive regression.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

3/30 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Seattle One – “Matthew Beniers ($4,900), Jordan Eberle ($5,000), Jared McCann ($5,300)”

I guess they probably won’t be that contrarian with Seattle a -315 favorite. That said they bring some salary relief to the lineup to help offset Pittsburgh one. With 11 games tonight, we don’t have to care too much about ownership. The Kraken’s top line is fifth among all NHL lines in SATF (113) over the last ten games. When compared to most of the other lines surrounding them in the metrics, they provide immense point per dollar value. I don’t mind just running a two-man stack with Beniers and McCann if preferred.

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Jake Sanderson – Ottawa – $4,800 – Thomas Chabot is out for at least two weeks. As a result, Sanderson will be filling his role in its entirety. The Senators are -155 home favorites here facing the lowly Flyers.

Goalie

Linus Ullmark/Jeremy Swayman – Boston Bruins – $8,500/$8,300 – The Bruins are -435 favorites here. Ullmark has a 1.90 GAA and .937 save % and Swayman has a 2.21 GAA and .921 save %. Don’t overthink it.

3/30 NHL Best Bet

New York Rangers (+115) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – Let’s take the plus odds on the team playing the better hockey right now.

Be on the lookout for an earlier start than usual as we are in for a four-game Sunday NHL DFS slate. Aside from reading the 3/26 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

3/26 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 5 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Boston Bruins (-105) at Carolina Hurricanes (-115)6 Projected Goal Total

Vancouver Canucks (-170) at Chicago Blackhawks (+145)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Toronto Maple Leafs (-170) at Nashville Predators (+145)6.5 Projected Goal Total

St. Louis Blues (+170) at Los Angeles Kings (-200)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Los Angeles One – “Anze Kopitar ($6,300), Adrian Kempe ($6,200), Quinton Byfield ($3,400)”

The King’s top line has put up some stunning peripheral numbers as of late. L.A. is the biggest favorite of the night, coming in at -200 hosting the Blues. The total is set for 6.5 and it seems like a great spot for this line to keep rolling. Currently, they are tied for first among NHL lines in goals scored and are first in SATF “130” over the last ten games.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

3/26 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Vancouver Two – “J.T. Miller ($6,700), Brock Boeser ($4,800), Phil Di Giuseppe ($3,100)”

The Canucks are in a good spot on this slate as -170 favorites against Chicago. The top line for Vancouver should be more popular. For that reason, it makes all that much more sense to pivot to the second line instead. As you can see from the graphic above, they are tenth in the NHL in SATF over the last ten games.

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Tyson Barrie – Nashville – $4,700 – Still the biggest beneficiary of Roman Josi’s absence at a relatively low price.

Goalie

Kevin Lankinen – Nashville – $7,300 – Decent numbers on the year, cheap, and should face sufficient shot volume. Lankinen is worth a shot here.

3/26 NHL Best Bet

Boston (-105) – DraftKings – 1 Unit

Let’s get ready for an eleven-game slate with everything from -410 favorites to even money seven total matchups.

Aside from reading the 3/23 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

3/23 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Toronto Maple Leafs (-110) at Florida Panthers (-110)7 Projected Goal Total

Montreal Canadiens (+330) at Boston Bruins (-410)6.5 Projected Goal Total

New York Rangers (+125) at Carolin Hurricanes (-145)6 Projected Goal Total

Tampa Bay Lightning (-145) at Ottawa Senators (+125)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Chicago Blackhawks (+205) at Washington Capitals (-245)6.5 Projected Goal Total

St. Louis Blues (+115) at Detroit Red Wings (-135)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Seattle Kraken (-135) at Nashville Predators (+115)6 Projected Goal Total

Vegas Golden Knights (+115) at Calgary Flames (-135)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Pittsburgh Penguins (+135) at Dallas Stars (-155)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Winnipeg Jets (-225) at Anaheim Ducks (+190)6 Projected Goal Total

San Jose Sharks (+140) at Vancouver Canucks (-165)7 Projected Goal Total

Dallas One – “Roope Hintz ($6,800), Joe Pavelski ($6,000), Jason Robertson ($8,100)”

Jason Robertson has blossomed into an elite star and this line is in fine form. Dallas One is fourth among all NHL lines in SATF over the last ten games. Tonight, they will get to host a flailing Penguins team arriving in Dallas on the second night of a Western Conference road trip back-to-back. With Tristan Jarry in the net for Pittsburgh against the Avalanche, the Stars should be squaring off with Good ol’ Casey DeSmith; always a fine punching bag to target. I say “should” as DeSmith is allegedly dealing with stomach issues, so we might get Jarry on a back-to-back which isn’t half bad either. All three skaters feature on the Star’s top powerplay unit and this game is set for a 6.5 total “Dallas are currently -155 money line favorites”. After Pittsburgh found a way to win against Colorado, they may find themselves a bit exhausted when thrown right back into the fire.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

3/23 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Seattle One – “Matthew Beniers ($4,100), Jordan Eberle ($3,800), Jared McCann ($5,300)”

I’m a sucker for form so I don’t mind taking a shot on Seattle One on a slate where they might go overlooked. As you can see from the chart above, they are third in the NHL in SATF over the last ten games. The Kraken are -135 favorites despite traveling to Nashville. Jusso Saros just has not been the same goaltender this season for the Predators. I wouldn’t go with them in a smaller field tournament but think they’re worth a shot as a large field play. The fact they are so cheap allows you to really stack up elsewhere.

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Rasmus Sandin – Washington – $4,600 – The Caps are -245 favorites facing the abysmal Blackhawks. As long as he keeps occupying the John Carlson role for under-market value, let’s keep locking him in.

Goalie

Linus Ullmark/Jeremy Swayman – Boston Bruins – $8,500/$8,300 – The Bruins are -410 favorites here. Ullmark has a 1.95 GAA and .937 save % and Swayman has a 2.20 GAA and .920 save %. For the difference in price between them and other top goalies, it makes sense. This matchup has shutout win potential.

3/23 NHL Best Bet

Toronto (-110) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – This might be the bounce-back spot for the Leafs.

The regular season continues to wane down with a four-game Sunday NHL DFS slate.

Aside from reading the 3/19 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

3/19 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Nashville Predators (+160) at New York Rangers (-190)6 Projected Goal Total

New Jersey Devils (+120) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-140)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Winnipeg Jets (-125) at St. Louis Blues (+105)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Vancouver Canucks (-130) at Anaheim Ducks (+110)6.5 Projected Goal Total

New York Rangers Two – “Vincent Trocheck ($5,400), Chris Kreider ($5,600), Patrick Kane ($6,100)”

The Rangers have been on a roll since beefing up their lineup. They are 7-2-1 over their last ten and come into this one after smashing the Penguins 6-0 on Saturday. The peripheral stats on either of the main three lines are surprisingly not very strong. However, New York -190 favorites here and red hot, I don’t think we need to really go there. It just comes down to which line makes sense for you. My personal preference is to use the second line. They are affordable and unlike the first feature two top power-play unit skaters.

3/19 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Vancouver One – “Elias Pettersson ($8,000), Andrei Kuzmenko ($5,400), Anthony Beauvillier ($4,300)”

This line is fifteenth among all NHL lines in SATF with 93 over their last ten games. That’s fairly impressive considering how short of a timeframe Anthony Beauvillier has been in town for. The Canucks have a juicy matchup here against the hapless Ducks where they’re favored (-130) with a 6.5 total. I don’t think they will be that “contrarian” so to speak. However, I do think they fit the bill for a strong second line that you can weave into your DFS lineup.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Tyson Barrie – Nashville – $4,400 – If Roman Josi is out “likely as he left early on Saturday”, I’d expect a huge bump in role for Tyson Barrie. Now he can’t fully fill Josi’s shoes, but he is also only $4,400 and not $9,200. If spending up, Adam Fox has a correlation with the Ranger’s second line listed above not just on regular ice but with Trocheck and Kane on the power play as well.

Goalie

Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning – $7,600 – With so many games taking place on Saturday, today’s slate is chock full of backup goalies. However, we have one of the world’s best goaltenders in a game where his team is a -140 favorite and he’s sub $8,000. If you need to save even more, St. Louis rookie Joel Hofer is scheduled to make his second start for $7,100. However, we can swallow the extra $500 for Vas’s experience.

3/19 NHL Best Bet

Vancouver (-130) – DraftKings – 1 Unit

With less than a month left in the regular season, there won’t be too many huge slates like tonight’s slate. Of the eleven games, only three have totals set at six, indicating we should be in for a lot of goals.

Aside from reading the 3/16 NHL DFS article, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS Projection Model which is available every morning. If you like what you see, sign up for more Win Daily content here.

3/16 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Montreal Canadiens (+295) at Florida Panthers (-360)7 Projected Goal Total

Pittsburgh Penguins (+120) at New York Rangers (-140)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Tamp Bay Lightning (+115) at New Jersey Devils (-135)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Colorado Avalanche (-140) at Ottawa Senators (+120)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Chicago Blackhawks (+230) at Nashville Predators (-275)6 Projected Goal Total

Boston Bruins (-170) at Winnipeg Jets (+145)6 Projected Goal Total

Dallas Stars (+115) at Edmonton Oilers (-135)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Vancouver Canucks (-145) at Arizona Coyotes (+125)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Calgary Flames (+100) at Vegas Golden Knights (-120)6 Projected Goal Total

Columbus Blue Jackets (+240) at Los Angeles Kings (-285)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Seattle Kraken (-170) at San Jose Sharks (+145)6.5 Projected Goal Total

New Jersey Two – “Nico Hischier ($6,800), Dawson Mercer ($4,800), Tomas Tatar ($3,700)”

You would have never thought a year ago that the Devils would be favored against the Lightning. Especially this late in the season. However, here we are. This line has been rolling for quite a while and this is a good spot to go back to the well. The peripheral stats here help to support their success “eight goals in their last ten and sixth in the NHL in SATF during that stretch”. On top of everything else, they are relatively affordable as well “partly because DraftKings hates Dawson Mercer”. I don’t mind just running this as a two-man without Tomas Tatar.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

3/16 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Ottawa One – “Tim Stueztle ($7,100), Brady Tkachuk ($7,000), Claude Giroux ($5,600)”

The Avalanche have been in some shootouts lately. This game might be no exception and is pegged for a 6.5 total. Especially as +120 underdogs, I can’t imagine on such a large slate tons of people will be turning to Ottawa One. Nevertheless, they are eighth in the NHL in SATF “116” over their last ten games, so possess some strong peripheral numbers. As their seven goals during that span suggest, they are also transferring that production into goals. They make as good a wild card flier as any in large tournaments.

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

Juuso Valimaki – Arizona – $4,100 – Valimaki is fairly cheap and quarterbacks the Coyotes’ top power-play unit. He is finally getting some production from his new role with double-digit DraftKings points in three straight.

Goalie

Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins – $8,100 – When this guy is only the fifth most expensive goalie on a slate, you have to take a long look. His 1.97 GAA and .935 save % are pristine as was his streak of twelve straight games with double-digit DraftKings points prior to a letdown against Chicago. Here, with a six total, he is set up for a bounce back.

Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers – $7,800 – If looking to go a bit riskier, Igor Shesterkin is also in play. Pittsburgh is putting up plenty of shots so there should be volume. This is the type of spot we shoot for a peak performance between sufficient shot volume, Igor’s skills, and the Rangers favored status.

3/16 NHL Best Bet

Dallas (+115) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – The Stars are hot right now, it makes their status as an underdog here juicy.

3/12 NHL Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET

*All odds and player pricing below have been obtained from DraftKings and are accurate as of the time of writing*

Carolina Hurricanes (-110) at New Jersey Devils (-110)6 Projected Goal Total

Winnipeg Jets (+165) at Tampa Bay Lightning (-195)6 Projected Goal Total

Vegas Golden Knights (-155) at St. Louis Blues (+135)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Ottawa Senators (+155) at Calgary Flames (-190)6.5 Projected Goal Total

Minnesota Wild (-210) at Arizona Coyotes (+170)6 Projected Goal Total

Nashville Predators (-165) at Anaheim Ducks (+140)6 Projected Goal Total

Tampa Bay One – “Brayden Point ($7,300), Nikita Kucherov ($7,700), Brandon Hagel ($5,000)” (Steven Stamkos injured on Saturday as of the time of writing)

With Connor Hellebuyck starting in net for the Jet Saturday “and getting pummeled with shots as of the time of writing”, Tampa will avoid him. This game is only set for a six total but the Lightning are also -195 money line favorites. Brandon Hagel has gone cold as of late whereas Kuch is red hot. Therefore, you can make the argument to run this as a two-man stack. That said, I would assume he jumps back up to the top line with Steven Stamkos’s injury Saturday night. That sort of move will certainly help to get him going if nothing else will.

3/12 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line

Carolina One – “Sebastian Aho ($7,000), Andrei Svechnikov ($6,800), Seth Jarvis ($4,500)”

They always seem to let us down in top matchups where they are heavily favored as they were on Thursday night. However, I don’t mind going back to well here. My hope is that they put up the sort of production that their recent peripheral stats would indicate they’re capable of. They are tied for the NHL lead in SATF over their last ten games.

10-Day Sample Size – SATF “accounts for all shots including blocked and missed shots”

Defenseman and Goalie

Defenseman

John Klingberg – Minnesota – $4,200 – Cheap price for the quarterback of the Wild’s power play unit. Klinger’s price should shoot up further as he gets acclimated to his new digs. On this slate, Minnesota is heavily favored against the Coyotes, so good spot.

Goalie

Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators – $8,100 – Saros has been much better as of late, with double-digits DraftKings points in five of his last six games. He draws a six total game tonight against the hapless Ducks.

3/12 NHL Best Bet

Carolina (-110) – DraftKings – 1 Unit
