NHL Betting Picks Saturday 3/6

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Saturday 3/6. Another undefeated night for The Model as the Bruins and the Wild handedly won their contests against the Capitals and Coyotes respectively. I also took the Blues the night before because I saw good value only for Husso to be named starter at noon on Friday and ruin all the value I had. Down 2-1 with a minute left they tied it then won it in OT. I am too hot for my own good right now.

We have a monster 12 game slate today let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Rangers Puck Line (-1.5, +210) over the Devils
  • Islanders Puck Line (-1.5, +123), Money Line (-210) and Under (5, +118) over the Sabres
  • Flyers Puck Line (+1.5, -265) and Over (6, -117) over the Penguins
  • Panthers Money Line (-141) over the Predators
  • Wild Puck Line (-1.5, +188) over the Coyotes
  • Jets Money Line (+120) over the Canadiens
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-200) over the Canucks
  • Avalanche Money Line (-245) over the Ducks
  • Kings Puck Line (+1.5, -265) over the Blues
  • Golden Knights Money Line (-210) over the Sharks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies. We have 4 back-to-backs today so expect different goalie usage today compared to yesterday, especially with this condensed schedule. If I wasn’t a Devils fan I would most likely take the Rangers today as the Devils are in a full free fall, so take that for what it’s worth.

My Picks

Free Picks

Maple Leafs in Regulation (-124): Toronto is arguably the best team in the NHL coming off a loss Thursday to Vancouver. Look for them to bounce back tonight. Toronto should have the goaltending edge if Holtby goes for Vancouver. Look for Matthews to get back on the board tonight and carry his team to victory. There isn’t much value on the money line, which is why I took the regulation pick.

Oilers Money Line (-132): The Oilers are coming off an embarrassing 3 game skid to the Maple Leafs not earning a single point. Calgary just fired their coach on Thursday, with their new coach not being able to join the team until next week. Look for Edmonton to come out strong in what I expect to be an excellent Battle of Alberta. McDavid can only be quiet for so long before he erupts, and I expect that to happen tonight.

Premium Pick

Flyers/Penguins Over 6 Goals (-110): These 2 teams love scoring against each other with the over hitting in all 4 matchups they have played this season. I love getting this at 6 and am hoping for a 5th straight hit.

NHL Betting Picks Wednesday 3/3

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Wednesday 3/3. Another 2-1 night, with the biggest surprise coming in that Sabres/Rangers Under. Four goals in the first period made me think that was a lost cause, only to have one more goal scored the rest of the game and hit the under. The Penguins pumped the Flyers, it happens. And then the Jets did exactly what I thought and took care of business with another poor night from Braden Holtby.

We have 6 games on the slate today, lets take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing tonight.

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Capitals Puck Line (+1.5, -225) over the Bruins
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-112) over the Oilers
  • Ducks Puck Line (+1.5, -220) over the Blues
  • Blues Money Line (-150) over the Ducks
  • Kings Puck Line (+1.5, -275) over the Coyotes

Keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies today. The Leafs get back beauty Auston Matthews and goaltender Frederik Andersen, although they haven’t needed them lately beating the Oilers by a combined score of 7-0 in their past two games.

My Picks

Free Picks

Wild ML +129: These two teams played on Monday with Vegas scoring three unanswered goals to win in OT. Vegas has not looked great as of late and think the books are slightly overvaluing them. The Model shows this at about a 50/50 game which means we are getting decent value on Minnesota.

Avalanche in Regulation -130: The Avalanche are the significantly better team and they just got pumped by the Sharks 6-2 on Monday. This is a clear bounce back game for the Avs, even with a couple injuries on defense, and I like them to take care of business in regulation as there is no value on the money line.

Premium Picks

Blues/Ducks Under 5.5 Goals -114: This game went over on Monday (5-4, 9 total goals) and we played it mostly due to St. Louis’ backup goalie Ville Husso who didn’t let us down allowing 4 goals. Tonight St. Louis is going back with Jordan Binnington. Anaheim hits less than 40% of their overs and average only 4.88 total goals per game (goals for plus goals against). They specifically struggle on offense only scoring 2.01 goals/game. This looks like a good bounce back spot for the under.

NHL Betting Picks Monday 3/1

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Monday 3/1. An easy 1-0 day after the Blackhawks hit the over (5.5, -110) by themselves with a 7-2 victory over Detroit. Not to mention all 3 Dashboard Edges hit yesterday as well, so we had quite a day. We have 7 games on the slate tonight let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Jets Money Line (-136) AND Puck Line (-1.5, +185) over the Canucks
  • Ducks Puck Line (+1.5, -225) over the Blues

Keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies today. Not too many dashboard edges today but those two for the Jets are quite significant. The Leafs are hoping Auston Matthews will be ready to play tonight but he is officially a game-time decision.

My Picks

Free Picks

Jets ML (-136): The Canucks have played better of late, but so have the Jets coming off 2 wins in their mini-series with the Canadiens. The Jets top line of Dubois-Schiefele-Wheeler has now had a few games under their belt and you can see the chemistry they’re building. The first game of a back-to-back against each other and the Jets confirmed Hellebuyck in net, we are taking them tonight.

Blues/Ducks Over 5.5 Goals (-103): Ville Husso is confirmed for the Blues which makes me really like this over. He has not had a good year posting a 3.77 GAA and a 0.879 SV%. Gibson on the other hand usually is an elite goaltender but has taken a step back this season. The Ducks have had trouble scoring goals and hitting their overs this year, but I think this is a good spot for them to take some people by surprise tonight.

Premium Pick

Hurricanes ML (-105): The Panthers have had a very hot start to the season while the Hurricanes have had a good not great start. I think the Hurricanes are the better team, and even have a slight edge in goaltending. But with Duclair out for the Panthers and them having to adjust their top line, I like the Hurricanes to take advantage of that spot here and play a strong game.

NHL Betting Picks Thursday 2/25

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Thursday 2/25. We had an easy 1-0 night with the Tampa Bay Lightning easily defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0. Once that goaltending matchup was announced I knew we instantly had an edge on the books so I hope you tailed! We have 10 games on the slate today.

Let’s take a look at the profitability and over win percentage of the teams playing tonight:

Dashboard Betting Edges

  • Oilers ML (-132) over the Canucks
  • Blackhawks +1.5 (-250) over the Blue Jackets
  • Capitals/Penguins Over 6.5 (-107)

Let’s keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies today.

There are couple lines I like today but won’t officially play:

The Devils ML (-109) against the Sabres. They lost their last two games to Buffalo but are the better team and have the goaltending edge. They should eventually be able to be at Buffalo but they’ve burned me the last two games so I can’t play them here.

Flames -1.5 (+155) against the Senators. Give the Sens some credit they have won a few games no one expected them to and DJ Smith has them playing some decent hockey. Having said that they are simply not a good hockey team as currently constructed. I thought the Flames played well in their 2 game series against Toronto, with solid goaltending from David Rittich. I like the Flames to handle the Sens by a decent margin tonight.

My Picks:

Blue Jackets ML -122: Columbus is coming off of a tough loss to Chicago on Tuesday in a high scoring affair. They return to play them again tonight. Columbus has a strong goaltending edge as Subban is confirmed for Chicago and Korpisalo for Columbus, which is driving the value in Columbus’s favor. Laine and Roslovic have fit in seamlessly since being traded from Winnipeg and Columbus should take care of business tonight.

Jets ML +110: The Canadiens are coming off a bad loss to the Senators on Tuesday which led to the dismissal of their head coach Claude Julien. Winnipeg won both of their games in their mini 2 game series against Vancouver, with the last one coming on Sunday. Hellebuyck should be in goal for Winnipeg which will give them the goaltending edge.

NHL Betting Picks Tuesday 2/23

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Tuesday 2/23. A solid 2-1 night including our +155 dog Calgary Flames dominating the North Division-leading Toronto Maple Leafs 3-0. We have 6 games on the slate today let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today:

To interact with the dashboard click here.

The biggest edges leveraging the dashboard are the Oilers ML (-130) against the Canucks, Canadians -1.5 (+116) against the Senators, and Devils ML (-127) against the Sabres.

Keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies here.

My Picks:

Devils ML -127: The Devils are finally fully healthy and taking on a Sabres team that actually defeated them 3-2 on Saturday, their only win in the last 6 games. Blackwood is starting for the Devils which gives them the goaltending edge and I think they get some revenge tonight. Let’s just hope most of this game is played at Even Strength as the Devils sport the worst Penalty Kill and a bottom 10 Power Play in the league.

Blackhawks ML +115: The Blackhawks have been a surprise this season led by Patrick Kane and Alex Debrincat while getting stellar goaltending from rookie Kevin Lankinen, who is confirmed as the starter. This line should be closer to even as the Blue Jackets have underperformed this year. The Blackhawks have an edge in goaltending and special teams which is why we are taking the underdog here.

Jacob’s Above Average Plays keeps it rolling with two more plays tonight. He’s found one above-average NBA and one above-average NHL play to stuff your pockets!

Take St. Louis Blues -165 vs Edmonton Oilers (8:300pm EST, Wednesday 18December 2019)

The Blues have proven yet again to be an above-average team in the NHL, sitting at the top of the Central Division with 48 points. However, they haven’t been playing above-average hockey as their record would suggest. They have been pretty mundane on offense, scoring an average of three goals per game, which ranks them 16th in the NHL. Where they have been above average is on defense. Led by starting goalie, Jordan Binnington, the Blues have shut down teams offenses all year. Binnington is allowing just 2.44 goals per game. He ranks fifteenth in overall goalie rankings, but St. Louis has also played a tough schedule all year. They have won sixteen out of his 26 starts, with four games going to overtime. He has only allowed three power-play goals, which is just phenomenal. The Blues will need him at his best when taking on this Oilers team. St. Louis is taking on the above-average play of Edmonton’s starting center, Connor McDavid. Since coming into the league, it was said he would be the next Gretzky. While I don’t think he has lived up to that, he has been playing way above average for NHL centers. McDavid has already scored twenty goals this year and has thirty-nine assists to pair with them. He is their team leader and they play tough because of it. As of late though, the Oilers have floundered. Winning just one game in their last five and three of their last ten, the Oilers have been above average losers. They also have been dominated by the Blues in the past. The Oilers are just 2-5 straight up in their last seven games played against St. Louis. On the road, they are even worse – winning just four of their last sixteen games played verse the Blues. The Oilers picked the wrong time to be playing bad. The Blues are in great form and have won seven of their last ten games. They have been great versus the Western Conference, winning all five of their games played against that division. St. Louis has also been playing above average at home, going 11-4-3 this year. Take the Blues to continue dominating at home. (If Jake Allen is the starting goalie for St. Louis: This is a non-play)

Take Philadelphia Sixers -7.5 vs Miami Heat (7:10 pm EST, Wednesday 18 December 2019)

The Sixers haven’t just been above average at home, they have been a nightmare matchup for teams. So far this year: The Sixers have been perfect. They have won fourteen of fourteen games at home, and twenty of twenty-eight games overall. With the Sixers star-studded line-up, one would think that it is their offense that has been dominating teams – but really, it has been their defense. At home, Philadelphia allows just 98.93 points per game, holding teams under 50% shooting (43.72%). This isn’t good news for Miami, known as an above-average team at home, who has to hit the road to face Philly. Miami sits atop first place in their division, winning thirteen of their last eighteen games. They have almost been perfect at home, winning eleven of twelve games. Miami ranks 10th in the NBA in overall offense, and is above average in almost every stat. All of that changes when they face the Sixers – Philly has had their number. At home, Philly has won eight of the last nine games versus Miami, and six of the last seven overall.  The last time these two teams faced off, Philly won by twenty-seven points. I have to say, I really don’t like the situation for Miami here. While Miami plays above average on two days rest, Philly has had three days off and are coming off a 109-89 loss to Brooklyn. I think the recent loss at Brooklyn plus the fact they are playing at home coming off rest is not good news for Miami. Lay the points with Philly.

11/20 Win Daily DFS Winner: Edmonton Oilers First Line

Here is a snippet of the Daily Hot Shot written by Richard Masana about the Edmonton Oilers first line. The combination of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Kassian finished with two goals and three assists and were a huge part of the win against the San Jose Sharks.

Outlook for the rest of the season: The Edmonton Oilers have been great thus far this season as they are tied for the most points in the Western Conference. McDavid has the second-most points in the NHL and expects the rest of the line to put up three-to-five points a night.

11/19 DFS Winner: Alec Burks

Here is a little snippet from the NBA DFS Positional Breakdown article written by David Jones. Burks had a huge game for the Golden State Warriors as he scored a game-high 29 points, eight rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block.

Outlook for the rest of the season: Burks had a great game with a season-high 29 points but did commit five turnovers. He will get a lot of action with the Warriors decimated by injuries to key players. Expect Burks to have games close to this with the Warriors struggling for offense throughout the recent future.

Cash with Flash Best Bets had a silly day yesterday and thank goodness for the Miami Dolphins covering for the third consecutive week otherwise Cash with Flash Best Bets would have been 1-3 after a crappy Monday.

Buffalolosing in overtime gave Cashwith Flash Best Bets its tenth overtime NHL loss of the season and wehaven’t finished October yet smh. One the one hand it means we were unlucky, and our luck should turn around; on the other hand, it’s very frustrating to continuallylose winnable wagers because of an unlucky bounce of the puck.

Cashwith Flash Best Bets understands that is why its called gambling, but it still sucks all thesame.

The NewOrleans Pelicans’ loss was on me. I host the Monday podcastand I wrote yesterday’s column on Sunday evening and neither Jrue Holiday nor Derrick Favorswas on the injury report I getdirectly from NBA media. I would never have touted the Pelicans winningthat ballgame without either of those two.

I put my REALNAME on this column and my reputation as a professional handicapper means a LOTto me and I won’t ever allow that to happen again. Please accept my sincerestapologies if you played the Pelicans last night based on my recommendation.

NBATonight

We havethree NBA games on tonight’s slate and Cash with Flash Best Bets does like onegame of the three.

DallasMavericks +5over DenverNuggets -5

Dallas isprobably the best team the undefeated Nuggets have faced this season and Denverhasn’t won any of their three games by more than eight points. Dallas is restedwhereas the Nuggets had a tough road game with the Sacramento Kings last night.A rested one-two punch of Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncicshould prove too much for the tired Nuggets to deal with tonight. Denver is thedeeper team, but Dallas should be able to cover the five points and Cashwith Flash Best Bets suggests taking the points and playing theMavericks to cover the spread tonight.

NHL Tonight

There are ninegames on tonight’s slate of games and Cash with Flash Best Bets is interestedin a pair of games.

EdmontonOilers -125 over Detroit Red Wings

MinnesotaWild +132 over Dallas Stars

Cash withthe Flash Best Betshad a strong day yesterday with our NHL picks, winning both plays with plusmoney outcomes. Anaheim took care of business over Columbus at +125 and theCarolina Panthers defeated the New York Islanders by two goals for a +155profit on the night. Cashwith the Flash Bets went undefeated for the first time this week and weare elated about this.

That’snearly 300 bucks if you bet $100 dollars per game and considering how roughthis week has been at Cashwith the Flash Best Bets, it was a nice Friday night win.

Cash with the Flash Best Bets still has over a week before the NBA regular season kicks in and when it does, this column will be very busy.

Saturday has a full slate of National Hockey League games beginning at 1:00 pm ET so Cash with the Flash Best Bets need to get cracking!!

Edmonton Oilers vs New YorkRangers

Cash withthe Flash Best Bets: New York Rangers -135

This onebegins at 1:00 pm ET and Edmonton is undefeated but none of their wins has comeagainst above .500 hockey teams. New York is also undefeated and has a qualitywin over the Winnipeg Jets and the other came against the Ottawa Senators. TheOilers are planning on starting MikkoKoskinen and the Rangers will likely counter with HenrikLundqvist guarding the cage.

Why theRangers?

It’s anearly start and let’s face it; New York City has plenty of things for young mento do at night and these young fellas from Edmonton are no exception. Koskinenhas been very good this season, but he hasn’t faced a good offense yet and theRangers have a good offense and the most successful power-play unit in the NHLthis season. New York also has Lundqvist and while his numbers don’t fairlyreflect a Hall of Fame career, he still is one of the best to ever put ongoalie pads and should be able to handle the Oilers this afternoon. Cash withthe Flash Best Bets suggests playing the Rangers to beat the Oilers onSaturday.

Tampa BayLightning vs Ottawa Senators

Cash withthe Flash Best Bets: Tampa Bay -1.5 Goals +115

This onebegins at 4:00 pm ET and the Tampa Bay Lightning is just 2-2 this season andcoming off a 7-3 thumping over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto. Ottawa iswinless in three tries and has scored eight goals over their past three games. It looks like AndreiVasilevskiy will guard the cage for Tampa Bay and CraigAnderson has been confirmed to start between the pipes for theSenators.

Why TampaBay?

We can’tplay the -260-money line price because there isn’t any value in that price. We can’tpick the Senators because Anderson has poor advanced metrics and aninexperienced blueline and up against a Lightning offense that has scored 18goals over their past four games with the reigning Vezina Trophy winnercrouching in the crease. If Tampa Bay beats Ottawa, and Cash with the FlashBest Bets believes the Lightning will defeat the Senators, it will likely be bymore than two goals. Cash with theFlash Best Bets suggests playing Tampa Bay to defeat Ottawa by morethan two goals on Saturday.

NashvillePredators vs Los AngelesKings

Cash withthe Flash Best Bets: Nashville Predators -1.5 Goals +165

This is a6:00 pm ET start, and Nashville brings a 3-1-0 record into this contest and it’slikely that PekkaRinne will start in goal for the Predators. Los Angeles is 1-2-0 thisseason and likely guarding the cage for their Saturday home opener is JonathonQuick.

WhyNashville?

The money line price is okay at -155 but these are the Kings and playing in their home opener and while they would like to put on a good show for their home fans, the Predators are solid and have an experienced goaltender in Rinne patrolling the crease. Quick has been brutal this season and his inexperienced blueline shoulders part of the blame. Neither side’s special team is anything to write home about, but the Predators should be able to win this game against the Kings. Cash with the Flash Best Bets suggests playing the Predators to defeat the Kings by two goals or more Saturday evening.

Cash with the Flash Best Bets had a rough Monday and a tough way to begin the week. The Buffalo Sabres lost in overtime and the Cleveland Browns lost when they drafted Baker Mayfield and hired a Head Coach solely because Mayfield liked him. Cash with the Flash sort of bought into the hype but is no longer on the Cleveland Browns hype machine.

Three NHLlosses this season and all in overtime smh.

Cash with the Flash Best Bets will eat the bad beat with the Cleveland Browns and we sure weren’t alone; half of Northeast Ohio is waking up to lighter wallets and the realization their beloved Browns aren’t a very good tackle football team.

The overtime hockey losses aren’t a bad thing; it means even when Cash with the Flash Best Bets selections don’t pan out we were right on the money and a lucky bounce away from winning and that’s a good thing.

Cashwith the Flash Best Bets sees opportunity tonight with a full slate of NHL games tochoose from. Let’s see if we can Cash with the Flash tonight with some pucks.

Winnipeg Jets (+130) vs PittsburghPenguins (-150)

Cash withthe Flash Best Bets: Pittsburgh -150, Over 5.5 goals

Winnipeg iswrapping up a four-game road trip and a win tonight gives them a 2-2 record andthat’s not a bad thing. The only problem is they can’t seem to keep the puckout of their own net. Allowing nearly five goals per night isn’t going to winmany hockey games and ConnorHellebuyck has been confirmed as the Jets starting netminder. TheRangers scored five goals against him on opening night and now he’s up againsta Penguins offense averaging four goals per game.

Pittsburghwill be without EvgeniMalkin and NickBjugstad as both have been added to the injured reserve list after bothwere injured in their last game with Columbus. The Penguins still have plentyof firepowers and they will likely start Matt Murray betweenthe pipes tonight. Murray has been terrific thus far and has allowed five goalson 71 shots.

WhyPittsburgh?

Pittsburghhas plenty of offensive weapons and will miss Malkin and Bjugstad, but theyshould still get past the road-weary Jets tonight. Winnipeg has trouble at theblueline and while they’ve had a couple of days off to work on things it stillwon’t be enough to slow down the offensive machine that Pittsburgh is. Murrayis a better goaltender and has a better defense than Hellebuck has and Cashwith the Flash Best Bets suggests playing the Penguins to defeat theJets Tuesday night. Cashwith the Flash Best Bets believes this game should exceed the 5.5 goaltotal and suggests playing the OVER tonight.

Edmonton Oilers(+130) vs New YorkIslanders (-145)

Cash withthe Flash Best Bets: New York Islanders -145

Edmonton isa scrappy bunch of offensive players with two come from behind victories thisseason but are without the tough blueline presence of Adam Larsson. Edmontonhas still found ways to win hockey games and has allowed seven goals over theirpast two games. Tonight marks the first road game for Edmonton and looks toimprove upon a 17-19-5 road record a season ago. MikeSmith is likely getting the start in nets for the Oilers and CorsicaHockey doesn’t view Smith favorably despite the 2-0 record and 3.50 goals-againstaverage.

New York is1-1-0 this season and coming off a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets after atough, 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals. That was a good win for the Islanders, and they are back on Long Island in their old building and looked very goodagainst the Jets. It looks as if Semyon Varlamov will guard the cage againstEdmonton and is coming off that loss to Washington and last summer’s big-ticketfree agent signing and his Corsicanumbers look very impressive.

Why NewYork?

I like theIslanders more than I like Smith and his Oilers teammates tonight. I also believethe Oilers’ blue line is better than the Oilers offense and that should be thedifference in this game. Varlamov is better than Smith with a better defenseand playing at home. Cashwith the Flash Best Bets suggests playing the Islanders to defeatthe Oilers on Tuesday night.

Dallas Stars(+130) vs WashingtonCapitals (-150)

Cash with the Flash Best Bets: Washington Capitals -150

Dallas mightbe 0-3-0 this season but we wouldn’t write them off just yet as each loss wasby a lone goal. Dallas has a tough time scoring goals and has scored only sevengoals this season. They’ve only allowed 10 goals so something must be goingright in Dallas. BenBishop is likely minding the nets for Dallas and has allowed just threegoals over 50 shots and Corsicahas a somewhat favorable view of Bishop.

Washingtonhas one of the best clubs in the National Hockey League and is off to a 2-0-1start to its season and has scored seven goals over their first three games. That’s surprising given the offensive firepower and will have Evgeny Kuznetsov backfrom serving a three-game suspension and that should spark the Capitals offense.Braden Holtby willlikely draw the start in the nets and has allowed five goals over 50 shotsfaced and Corsicaviews Holtby as one of the top performers this season.

WhyWashington?

Plenty ofone-goal games between these two clubs but the kicker is Kuznetsov and he’scoming off a 71-point season and should provide a spark to the Capitalsoffense. Dallas doesn’t have that type of spark and must play blue-collarhockey to win games. Holtby is as solid as there is and playing at home whereasBishop is solid but doesn’t get the goal support others might enjoy. And I don’tthink he’ll get much offensive support tonight. Cashwith the Flash Best Bets suggests playing Washington to beat Dallastonight.
