$10k Hit From a Win Daily Sports Family Member

Win Daily Sports has been having a great start to the NFL season, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about baseball! This is actually the best time to play because others have been making money and want to use that money to play other contests and haven’t been as up to date on what’s going on as we have! And that’s how we have a $10k Hit From a Win Daily Sports Family Member!

Our longtime Family Member Moneytree, or @RonAaronP on Twitter, has hit big before. Just last year he won $40k in NBA DFS and missed the $100k takedown by 0.1 points. Brutal. But Moneytree does his thing, comes to play every night and follows the process to get him to where he wants to be.

I reached out to Moneytree to see how he went constructing his $10k lineup to show what it takes to win big in DFS!

My first selection going into this lineup was Ryan Braun. He left the game on Friday night (in which I also had him in lineups) with back spasms and once I knew he was going to start on Saturday, I had to start him. He is having a really nice September, and for his price of $2,800 (his price dropped $100 dollars from Friday to Saturday) to me he seemed like a no brainer.

My next thought process was the LAD vs. COL stack. My only dilemma when I was putting this lineup together was which 4 Dodgers to start. Even with the game in Colorado, with Kershaw pitching I determined from the start that I wasn’t starting any Colorado players. My initial play was Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Justin Turner, and Chris Taylor ($15,600 combined salary). I will discuss the pivot below.

My next selection was my pitcher. Initially my thought process here was to take Charlie Morton over Andrew Heaney who had a favorable matchup against the Orioles. More importantly he was $900 cheaper. So I had slotted him into my lineup as my initial starting pitcher.

From here my next focus was the second base position. The 3 players who were on my radar from the get go were DJ LeMahieu, Jose Altuve, and Kolten Wong. At this point because I had extra money I decided against Wong. I felt that LeMahieu and Altuve had similar potential that night so decided to go with Altuve who was $1,200 less expensive.

As I was in Discord reading through the MLB channel for updates, I had noticed that Jason entered a post about liking Heaney and the LA Dodger stack on DraftKings. Although I was playing the slate on FanDuel, from here I wanted to see what I could do to get Heaney into my lineup.

I still had 2 outfield positions to fill so my next logical process was to see who was cheap that I might be able to play while focusing on guys who bat at the top of the order. Because I liked Charlie Morton above, the first place I went to look was the team he was pitching for in the Tampa Bay Rays. Someone was going to have to come to work that day to get Charlie a possible win. I thought I might be able to get a player from Tampa Bay and then another player from another team. However, once I saw that I could get 2 players at $2,700 each – batting #1 (Tsutsugo) and #3 (Arozarena) – my last two spots were filled

At this point I shifted out Charlie Morton with Andrew Heaney which put me $400 over the salary cap. Ugh…

Since I wanted a stack still in LA, I went there to see how and if I could free up $400. Luckily it ended up being as simple as swapping Mookie Betts with Cody Bellinger.

This is the type of process and structure we try and teach! Moneytree already knows it, but it’s the time, effort, and question asking that is going to get you into the money, and it clearly worked for Moneytree! We’re always happy when we see a Family Member hit for $10k, especially when it’s someone who is working hard to get there night in and night out! I asked Moneytree what his biggest takeaways were…

My key takeaways to this lineup as I move forward are:
1) I try to play as many batters who are batting near the top of their batting order as I can. More at bats is crucial.
2) In the right situations, lower priced players can pay off (Tsutsugo & Arozarena). Look for these plays.
3) Watch trends of players. Braun – Although he was hurt the night before his monthly play inspired me to start him anyway
once he was cleared to play.
4) If you are not on the Win Daily Discord chat rooms, you should be!! The team is there to help and they also provide great
information with crucial updates as needed at the locks near.

We appreciate each and every Win Daily Sports Family Member we have and want to help you get that takedown too! Make sure to follow us @WinDailySports and also hop into that Expert Discord Chat Moneytree was talking about for 7 days FREE!
