This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s 11-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you stay up to date with all our favorite plays on our DFS Cheat Sheet as well.

Teams with Highest IRT

GPP Stack: Houston Astros

vs.RHP Jamie Barria (LAA): 6.25 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: George Springer ($3900 FD|$5100 DK), Alex Bregman ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), Yordan Alvarez ($3800 FD|$5500 DK), and Michael Brantley ($4000 FD|$5100 DK). Yuli Gurriel ($3400 FD|$4800 DK) also a good cheaper option.

GPP Stack: Cleveland Indians

vs. LHP Eric Skoglund (KCR): 6.20 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Jose Ramirez is out on injury and I’m not particularly crazy about this team without him.

Preferred Stack: Carlos Santana ($4000 FD|$5400 DK), Francisco Lindor ($4300 FD|$5200 DK), Franmil Reyes ($2500 FD|$3800 DK), and Yasiel Puig ($3300 FD|4400 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

GPP Stack: Atlanta Braves**

vs. LHP Steven Matz (NYM): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

The Braves are six games up on the Nationals for the top seed and they’re going to need to keep their foot on the gas here. Matz is allowing a measley slash line of .260 wOBA, .353 SLG, and .268 OBP in the second half of the season. He has performed well in his last 10 starts but he has to come back down to earth at some point. The Braves are certainly risky here but there are a few guy’s in the lineup who hit lefties well and we will likely get pretty low ownership here with everyone chasing that watered down Cleveland squad.

Preferred Plays: Ronald Acuna Jr. ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), Josh Donaldson ($3200 FD|$4500 DK), Ozzie Albies ($3000 FD|$4000 DK), and Adam Duvall ($2400 FD|$3700 DK). Also consider: Freddie Freeman ($4100 FD|$5200 DK).

GPP Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. LHP Matt Boyd (DET): UPDATE

**Moderate Risk

Man, this is a tough one. On one side you have one of the best hitting teams in baseball slashing a ridiculous .345 ISO and 193 WRC+ to lefties over the last two weeks. On the other side you have Matthew Boyd who has had his ups and downs but he has been solid on the road, only allowing righties to slash .276 wOBA, .372 SLG, and .276 OBP. My thought is that Boyd is going to get rocked. You can make an argument to throw Boyd out there in GPP’s but this Twins lineup is just hitting way too good right now and Boyd’s inconsistencies like to rear their ugly head every other game.

Preferred Plays: Nelson Cruz ($4000 FD|$5700 DK), Mitch Garver ($3300 FD|$4800 DK), Miguel Sano ($3500 FD|$4700 DK), CJ Cron ($3100 FD|$3800 DK), and Jonathan Schoop ($2400 FD|$3600 DK).

GPP Stack: St. Louis Cardinals

vs. RHP Anthonio Senzatela (COL): 5.10 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Marcell Ozuna ($3700 FD|$5000 DK), Paul Goldschmidt ($3500 FD|$4200 DK), and Dexter Fowler ($3200 FD|$4000 DK). Matt Carpenter ($2700 FD|$3700 DK) If you’re looking for four man stack I like him for the platoon advantage.

GPP Stack: Washington Nationals

vs. LHP Cole Hamels (CHC): 5.10 Runs

Preferred Plays: Howie Kendrick ($2600 FD|$5300 DK), Kurt Suzuki ($2400 FD|$3900 DK), and Anthony Rendon ($4100 FD|$5300 DK), Trea Turner ($3900 FD|$5100 DK), and Adam Eaton ($3600 FD|$4500 DK).

GPP Stack: Colorado Rockies**

vs. RHP Michael Wacha (STL): 5.10 Runs

**Low Risk

Michael Wacha is just a terrible pitcher and even though the Rockies aren’t a great hitting team on the road I still like the matchup here and I will ignore road slash lines for Colorado. This team and Atlanta are my sneaky picks for the day.

Preferred Plays: Charlie Blackmon ($2600 FD|$5300 DK), Nolan Arenado ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), Trevor Story ($3800 FD|$5300 DK), and Ryan McMahon ($3200 FD|$4400 DK).

Pitching

  1. Shane Bieber RHP (CLE): 2.50 Runs
  2. Aaron Nola RHP (PHI): 3.25 Runs
  3. Dylan Bundy RHP (BAL): 5.40 Runs
  4. Brock Burke RHP (TEX): 4.80 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

MLB Fantasy Stack: Houston Astros

vs.LHP Jose Suarez (LAA): 5.90 Runs

**Low Risk

Jose Suarez takes the mound for the Angels tonight and he will be facing the power packed Houston Astros. Suarez has been anything but good, allowing righties to slash to a .431 wOBA, .630 SLG, and .417 OBP. He has allowed 33 earned runs across 35 innings pitched to them. Suarez struggles with the long ball, allowing 2.70 HR/9 backed by a 42% flyball and 44% hard contact rate. He has allowed at least four earned runs or more in his last four starts. Pretty steep price to pay here for the Astros, but they continue to slash above their season averages for the month of August and get another great matchup here tonight.

Preferred Plays: George Springer ($4100 FD|$5300 DK), Alex Bregman ($4200 FD|$5500 DK), Jose Altuve ($4300 FD|$5300 DK), and Yuli Gurriel ($3300 FD|$5200 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Milwaukee Brewers

vs. RHP Merrill Kelly (ARI): 5.50 Runs

**Low Risk

The Brewers come in behind the Astros for second highest IRT on the slate (as of 5 AM EST). They will face an inconsistent Merrill Kelly, who has an ERA of 5.60 on the road compared to his stingy 3.66 ERA at home. Kelly has pitched the worst he has all year in the month of August, allowing batters to slash to a .387 wOBA, .571 SLG, and .373 OBP. Milwaukee isn’t showcasing a bunch of power in their lineup right now, but they are getting on base and creating runs as indicated by their 117 WRC+ to righties over the last two weeks. I’ll take the over on this one and look for some extra base hits from the Brew Crew.

Preferred Stack: Christian Yelich ($4800 FD|$5900 DK), Eric Thames ($2800 FD|$4600 DK), Keston Hiura ($3600 FD|$5500 DK), and Mike Moustakas ($3900 FD|$4800 DK), and Yasmani Grandal ($3100 FD|$4300 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB Fantasy Stack: Cleveland Indians

vs. RHP Jakob Junis (KCR): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Francisco Lindor ($3900 FD|$5000 DK), Carlos Santana ($3700 FD|$5400 DK), and Jose Ramirez ($3400 FD|$4700 DK). Also consider: Greg Allen ($2100 FD|$3800 DK) and Yasiel Puig ($3000 FD|$4500 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Minnesota Twins

vs. LHP Matt Boyd (DET): 5.15 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Nelson Cruz ($3800 FD|$5800 DK), Mitch Garver ($3200 FD|$4900 DK), Miguel Sano ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), and CJ Cron ($3000 FD|$4000 DK).

MLB Fantasy Stack: Pittsburgh Pirates

vs. RHP RHP Anthony DeSclafani (CIN): 4.50 Runs

**High Risk

Preferred Plays: Josh Bell ($4000 FD|$5000 DK), Bryan Reynolds ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), Starling Marte ($3600 FD|$5400 DK), and Adam Frazier ($2600 FD|$3900 DK),

Pitching

  1. Jack Flaherty RHP (STL): 3.25 Runs
  2. Lance Lynn RHP (TEX): 3.90 Runs
  3. Vincent Velasquez RHP (PHI): 3.90 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

MLB Hitting Stack: Houston Astros**

vs. LHP Daniel Norris (DET): 6.35 Runs

**Low Risk

The Astros offense has come back down to reality as of late after going on a heater for the last month. This is still a dangerous lineup and they get a favorable matchup against LHP Daniel Norris. He is having an average season, owning 4.82 ERA, 4.86 FIP, and 4.70 SIERA. Norris has a GB rate of 41% and a BABIP of .318. He is allowing 1.68 HR/9. His splits are pretty identical so i feel comfortable going R or L through this Astros lineup.

Preferred Plays: Yordon Alvarez ($4300 FD|$5500 DK), Alex Bregman ($4500 FD|$5200 DK), George Springer ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), and Jose Altuve ($4400 FD|$5100 DK).

MLB Hitting Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. LHP Drew Smyly (BOS): 6.60 Runs

**Moderate Risk

As of now the Red Sox hold the highest implied run total on the slate. They get a weak left handed pitcher in Drew Smyly, who had a flash of greatness when traded to the Phillies, but now he seems to be back to his normal 7.00+ ERA self, giving up four or more runs in his last three starts. Smyly is allowing a massive 47% hard contact, 46% fly ball rate, and 2.81 HR/9. I have a tough time paying the premium salary for these Red Sox players with the fantasy output we’ve been getting in return lately, but they should be one of the top owned stacks tonight.

Preferred Stack: Andrew Benintendi ($3600 FD|$4800 DK), Sam Travis ($3000 FD|$4100 DK), J.D. Martinez ($4200 FD|$5100 DK), and Rafael Devers ($4600 FD|$5700 DK). Also consider Mookie Betts ($4400 FD|$5400 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB Hitting Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers

vs. RHP Thomas Pannone (TOR): 4.25 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Corey Seager ($3400 FD|$4200 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4900 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Turner ($3900 FD|$4600 DK) and A.J. Pollock ($3500 FD|$4100 DK). Also consider: Matt Beaty ($2800 FD|$4300 DK) for value.

MLB Hitting Stack: Washington Nationals

vs. RHP Joe Musgrove (PIT): 5.10 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Juan Soto ($4100 FD|$5400 DK), Anthony Rendon ($4400 FD|$5300 DK), Trea Turner ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), and Matt Adams ($3400 FD|$4600 DK). Also consider: Adam Eaton ($3800 FD|$5000 DK).

MLB Hitting Stack: Atlanta Braves

vs. LHP Caleb Smith (MIA): 5.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Adam Duvall ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), Josh Donaldson ($3600 FD|$4500 DK), Ozzie Albies ($3400 FD|$4500 DK), and Charlie Culberson ($2000 FD|$3600 DK).

Pitching

  1. Adrian Houser RHP (MIL): 4.20
  2. Yu Darvish RHP (CHC): UPDATE
  3. Walker Buehler RHP (LAD): 4.25 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

Fantasy MLB Stack: Houston Astros**

vs. RHP Edwin Jackson (DET): 7.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Edwin Jackson has disappointed a lot of people his last few starts. He has actually fared well against struggling teams like the Red Sox and Mariners. Today is a whole different story though. Jackson has the displeasure of taking on the most talented team in MLB, the Houston Astros. The Astros are on fire right now, slashing to a .378 wOBA, .272 ISO, and 143 WRC+ against righties. Jackson maintains his 8.00+ ERA, is allowing a massive 3.40 HR/9, and has a BABIP of .331. The cards are obviously stacked against him tonight and although he has had some decent performances, I highly doubt he will have one against this Astros squad. Eat the chalk, play the Astros.

Preferred Plays: Yordan Alvarez ($4400 FD|$5800 DK), Michael Brantley ($4400 FD|$5000 DK), Carlos Correa ($4000 FD|$5000 DK), and Alex Bregman ($4300 FD|$5400 DK). Also consider Yuli Gurriel ($3700 FD|$5100 DK and Jose Altuve ($4300 FD|$5200 DK).

Fantasy MLB Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. LHP Kolby Allard (TEX): 5.80 Runs

**Moderate Risk

The Angels come in with the second highest run total today and a get a major boost at Globe Life Park. We are looking at 101 degrees first pitch. The Angel’s have struggled mightily this month, slashing to a .211 wOBA, .130 ISO, and 28 WRC+. These are awful hitting numbers are I have hard time getting here for a full stack even with a ball park boost and LHP on the mound. I do like a few pieces here. Allard has looked decent in his first two starts away from Arlington, striking out 5 or more and allowing 3 runs or less in 5 innings pitched. Texas will presumably roll out five righties against Peters, I do like the Rangers as well.

Preferred Stack: Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5600 DK), Albert Pujols ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), Justin Upton ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), and David Fletcher ($3000 FD|$3900 DK).

Fantasy MLB Stack: Baltimore Orioles**

vs. RHP Jorge Lopez (KCR): 5.50 Runs

**High Risk

The Twins actually have the slight edge over the Orioles for implied run total but I like the O’s today for less ownership. The Orioles are hitting the best they have all season in the last two weeks, slashing to a .332 wOBA, .235 ISO, and .321 WRC+. Their offensive struggles outweigh the good days but when they are making good contact the runs seem to pour in. Jorge Lopez owns a 6.51 ERA, 5.44 FIP, and 4.64 SIERA. He is allowing 1.89 HR/9 and .321 BABIP. Not sure if I’ll get to a full stack here but I do like a few pieces.

Preferred Plays: Trey Mancini ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), Jonathon Villar ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), Anthony Santander ($3100 FD|$4100 DK), and Renato Nunez ($3000 FD|$4000 DK). Rio Ruiz ($2000 FD|$3400 DK) for value.

Other Teams I Have Interest in

Fantasy MLB Stack: Minnesota Twins**

vs. RHP Ivan Nova (CHW): 5.60 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Max Kepler ($4000 FD|$4600 DK), Nelson Cruz ($4000 FD|$4300 DK), Miguel Sano ($3400 FD|$5000 DK) and Eddie Rosario ($3800 FD|$4800 DK). Also consider: Luis Arraez ($2900 FD|$4200 DK) for value.

Fantasy Team Stack: Cincinnati Reds**

vs. LHP Eric Lauer (SDP): 5.10 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Phillip Ervin ($2500 FD|$3800 DK), Aristides Aquino ($4500 FD|$5000 DK), Eugenio Suarez ($3800 FD|$4600 DK).

Fantasy Team Stack: Kansas City Royals

vs. LHP John Means (BAL): 4.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Jorge Soler ($3600 FD|$5500 DK), Chelsor Cuthbert ($2500 FD|$3500 DK), Hunter Dozier ($3800 FD|$5400 DK), and Whit Merrifield ($3200 FD|$5100 DK).

Pitching

  1. Kyle Gibson RHP (MIN): 3.80
  2. Marco Gonzales LHP (SEA): 3.50 Runs
  3. Wade Miley LHP (HOU): 2.60 Runs
  4. Zac Gallen RHP (ARI): 3.90 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

Fantasy Team Stack: Boston Red Sox**

vs. LHP Tyler Blach (BOS): UPDATE

**Low Risk

Back to the Red Sox we go! No line out from Vegas yet but it’s safe to assume that Boston will carry the biggest implied run total on today’s slate. Same song and dance, the Red Sox face the worst bullpen and starting pitching rotation in all of baseball. Ty Blach is a career dumpster fire and carries a 13.94 ERA, 7.67 FIP, and 6.29 SIERA through 10 innings pitched this season. History tells us Blach has been fairly decent to lefties but I won’t hesitate to play Devers. Guy’s like J.D. Martinez and Mookie Betts are a priority for me. The Red Sox continue to hit well, slashing to a .373 wOBA, .272 ISO, and 130 WRC+ for the month. Massive chalk here but I feel fine eating it.

Preferred Plays: J.D. Martinez ($4200 FD|$5400 DK), Mookie Betts ($4300 FD|$5300 DK), Sam Travis ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), and Andrew Benintendi ($3700 FD|$4500 DK). Also consider Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5400 DK. Chris Owings ($2200 FD|$2200 DK) for big salary relief.

Fantasy Team Stack: New York Mets

vs. RHP Glenn Sparkman (KCR): 5.80 Runs

**High Risk

Initial chalk reports this morning indicate that the Mets should attract a good bit of ownership. I can respect that at first glance with Glenn Sparkman owning a 13% K rate and 84% contact on the year. If we dig a little further we will see that other than two starts Sparkman has been very dominant to right handed batting at home. He has allowed hitters to slash to a measley .278 wOBA, .370 SLG, and .281 OBP through 57 innings pitched. I’m not advocating you to play Sparkman, there just isn’t enough strikeout upside with him and win probability is slim with Wheeler on the other side of the plate. I will likely fade the Mets here as they are rolling out seven righties.

Preferred Stack: Pete Alonso ($4200 FD|$5400 DK) , J.D. Davis ($3300 FD|$4700 DK), Michael Conforto ($3700 FD|$4700 DK), Amed Rosario ($2700 FD|$4200 DK). Joe Panik ($2400 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

Fantasy Team Stack: Milwaukee Brewers/Washington Nationals**

vs. RHP Eric Fedde (TEX): 5.50 Runs

vs. RHP Chase Anderson (MIL): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

This is another game that should attract a good bit of ownership. The Brewers and Nationals put on a 14 inning show last night combining for 29 total runs. In the meantime they both exhausted their entire bullpens and we get two pitchers who typically don’t go deep into games facing off in today’s matchup. The weather and park factor give us a boost as well. My only hesitation is a possible hangover from a quick turnaround but other than that I like both of these teams today.

Nats: Preferred Plays: Juan Soto ($4000 FD|$5200 DK), Anthony Rendon ($4300 FD|$5400 DK), Trea Turner ($3900 FD|$5200 DK), and Matt Adams ($3100 FD|$4000 DK). Gerrardo Parra ($2000 FD|$3900 DK) great for value on Fanduel.

Brewers: Preferred Plays: Christian Yelich ($4700 FD|$5600 DK), Trent Grisham ($3000 FD|$3500 DK), Keston Hiura ($3500 FD|$4000 DK), and Eric Thames ($3000 FD|$4300 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

Fantasy Team Stack: Toronto Blue Jay’s

vs. LHP Yusei Kikuchi (SEA): 5.60 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Randal Grichuk ($3200 FD|$5500 DK), Bo Bichette ($3300 FD|$4800 DK), Justin Smoak ($2700 FD|$3600 DK) and Derek Fisher ($2600 FD|$4000 DK). Also consider: Teoscar Hernandez ($2900 FD|$4100 DK).

Fantasy Team Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers**

vs. LHP Max Fried (ATL): 4.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Will Smith ($3600 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Turner ($3700 FD|$5000 DK), A.J. Pollock ($3300 FD|$4400 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5800 DK) and Kyle Garlick ($2300 FD|$3600 DK). Jedd Gyorko (2000 FD|$3700 DK) for min price on Fanduel.

Pitching

  1. Jack Flaherty RHP (STL): 3.90 Runs
  2. Tony Gonsolin RHP (COL): 5.30 Runs
  3. Mike Clevinger RHP (CLE): 4.90 Runs

Teams with Highest IRT

MLB DFS Team Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Hector Noesi (MIA): 7.80 Runs

**Low Risk

I hope all of you considered my advice yesterday when I said to fade Coors. Three runs from the Rockies isn’t a good fantasy output but that brings us to today. I am all over the Rockies. They face Hector Noesi, who has struggled with his splits his entire career. He has only pitched 11 innings this season, but owns a 8.18 ERA, 7.58 FIP, and 5.29 SIERA. He struggles where we need him to, allowing right handed batters to slash to a .387 wOBA, .640 SLG, and .321 OBP. Limited sample, but even in years past Noesi has always struggled to righties. The Rockies are slashing to a .338 wOBA, .196 ISO and 92 WRC+, just above their season averages. I will have a nice chunk of exposure to the Rockies tonight.

Preferred Stack: Trevor Story ($4500 FD|$5700 DK) , Charlie Blackmon ($4700 FD|$5700 DK), Nolan Arenado ($4600 FD|$5300 DK), Ryan McMahon ($3700 FD|$4700 DK). Also consider: Dom Nunez ($3000 FD|$3700 DK) and Raimel Tapia ($3300 FD|$4500 DK).

MLB DFS Team Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. RHP Asher Wojciechowski (BAL): 7.00 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Last night I faded Coors for Boston and it worked out pretty well. Today I will be doing the exact opposite and will be fading Boston. I’m not saying they aren’t in a good spot, cause it is the Orioles and their bullpen is awful as we all know. I’m not inclined to attack Wojcie with his respectable 27.5% K rate, although he has struggled in recent outings. My hope is the Coors letdown yesterday will drive ownership down and people will gravitate to this game instead. The Red Sox are hovering right around their season averages, slashing to a .349 wOBA, .217 ISO, and 113 WRC+ for the month of August.

Preferred Plays: Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5100 DK), Rafael Devers ($4400 FD|$5600 DK), and Mookie Betts ($4100 FD|$5200 DK), and Andrew Benintendi ($3700 FD|$4500 DK)

MLB DFS Team Stack: Minnesota Twins**

vs. RHP Ariel Jurado (TEX): 6.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Did somebody say two Coors Fields in one slate? I am all over the Twins tonight. An excellent hitting park, a bad pitcher, and one of the best hitting teams in the league that are slashing to a .349 wOBA, .230 ISO, and 114 WRC+ for the month of August. Ariel Jurado is one of, if not the worst pitcher on tonight’s slate. Jurado owns a 5.31 ERA, 4.80 FIP, and 4.96 SIERA. He has a 44% GB rate coupled with a .314 BABIP. Jurado also has the lowest K rate on the slate at 17% and he is facing the fourth best team in MLB in terms of strikeout percentage. It’s a hot one in Texas today, folks. Load up on the MIN bats.

Preferred Plays: Max Kepler ($4000 FD|$5100 DK), Eddie Rosario ($4000 FD|$5400 DK), Luis Arraez ($3100 FD|$4800 DK), and Miguel Sano ($3500 FD|$5400 DK). Also consider: Jorge Polanco ($3800 FD|$4900 DK) and Jason Castro ($2700 FD|$4000).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

MLB DFS Team Stack: San Francisco Giants**

vs. RHP Taylor Clarke (ARI): 4.85 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Alex Dickerson ($3200 FD|$5500 DK), Mike Yastrzemski ($3300 FD|$4800 DK), and Stephen Vogt ($2700 FD|$3600 DK). Also consider: Evan Longoria ($3200 FD|$4400 DK) and Kevin Pillar ($3400 FD|$4300 DK).

DFS Team Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers**

vs. RHP Mike Foltynewicz (ATL): 5.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Edwin Rios ($2400 FD|$4000 DK), Matt Beaty ($2600 FD|$2400 DK), Justin Turner ($3600 FD|$4900 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4700 FD|$5800 DK) and Corey Seager ($3400 FD|$4300 DK).

Pitching

Teams with Highest IRT

DFS Team Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Sandy Alcantara (COL): 7.75 Runs

**Moderate Risk

The Rockies unsurprisingly come in with the highest implied run total on the slate. They happen to be heating up again over the last month and are slashing to a .347 wOBA, .194 ISO, and 98 WRC+ against RHP. Sandy Alcantara has been fairly decent this year, owning a 4.44 ERA, 4.87 FIP, and 5.65 SIERA. I feel like this game can go either way. It will either be a low scoring pitcher’s night between Gray and Alcantara, or it will be a one sided blowout from the Rockies. Obviously the Rockies are the chalk play but Jon Gray is in a decent spot here despite the ballpark. The Marlins are still priced fairly cheap so they make for a good value stack, but I do prefer Jon Gray.

Preferred Stack: Charlie Blackmon ($4600 FD|$5500 DK), Daniel Murphy** (Way too cheap) ($3000 FD|$4100 DK), Ryan McMahon ($3600 FD|$4700 DK), and Trevor Story ($4400 FD|$5700 DK). Obviously Nolan Arenado ($4400 FD|$5400 DK) is in play but the salaries on this team are too high for both so I prefer Story.

DFS Team Stack: Boston Red Sox

vs. RHP Aaron Brooks (BAL): 8.10 Runs

**Low Risk

Another sad day where I have to pick on my Orioles but it is warranted with how they’ve performed this season. The Orioles are the worst team in the league in terms of run differential at -243 and their bullpen is absolutely atrocious, ranking dead last in the league in terms of efficiency. Aaron Brooks will pave the way for that stellar bullpen, owning a 6.35 ERA, 6.13 FIP, and 4.82 SIERA. In addition to his poor season averages, he is allowing 2.36 HR/9 innings and 40% FB rate. The Red Sox are slashing to a .353 wOBA, .216 ISO, and .345 BABIP in the month of August. The Red Sox are another pricey stack but nonetheless in a great spot and a team that I favor more than the Coors chalk.

Preferred Plays: Xander Bogaerts ($4200 FD|$5300 DK), Rafael Devers ($4300 FD|$5600 DK), Mitch Moreland ($3200 FD|$4500 DK), and Mookie Betts ($4100 FD|$5200 DK). You should also consider: J.D. Martinez ($4300 FD|$5100 DK) and Marco Hernandez ($

DFS Team Stack: New York Yankees

vs. RHP Aaron Civale (CLE): 5.40 Runs

**High Risk

The Yankees let a lot of people down last night with the Indians breaking their spirit in the top of the first inning. They theoretically should bounce back tonight, but the pitcher they are facing (Civale) has had great outings in his first three starts in the bigs and has maintained a sub 3.00 ERA through his time in A ball. The Yankees are very expensive and I feel there is some uncertainty with this matchup. Obviously the Yankees have raw power and talent, but any time you’re facing a pitcher for the first time it can go either way. Nonetheless, the Yankees are slashing to a .350 wOBA, .276 ISO and 117 WRC+ against RHPs right now. Civale allowed one run and four hits while striking out five batters across six innings against the red hot Twins in his last start. Yankees are a fade for me tonight.

Preferred Plays: D.J. LeMahieu ($4300 FD|$5000 DK), Gio Urshela ($4400 FD|$5300 DK), Gleyber Torres ($4200 FD|$4800 DK), and Gary Sanchez ($4100 FD|$4500 DK).

Other Teams I Have Interest in

DFS Team Stack: Tampa Bay Rays

vs. LHP Daniel Norris (DET): 5.00 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Tommy Pham ($3600 FD|$4300 DK), Travis d’Arnaud ($3100 FD|$3900 DK), and Jesus Aguilar ($2700 FD|$3600 DK). Mike Brosseau ($2300 FD|$3700 DK) and Matt Duffy ($2500 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

DFS Team Stack: Toronto Blue Jays

vs. LHP Wade LeBlanc (SEA):UPDATE

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Cavan Biggio ($3900 FD|$4000 DK), Rowdy Tellez ($2200 FD|$3500 DK), Randal Grichuk ($3300 FD|$4100 DK), Vlad Guererro Jr. ($3300 FD|$3900 DK) and Bo Bichette ($4100 FD|$4800 DK). Also Consider Teoscar Hernandez ($3000 FD|$4000 DK).

DFS Team Stack: New York Mets

vs. LHP Mike Montgomery (KCR): 5.20 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s six-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

MLB DFS Stack: Seattle Mariners

vs. RHP Edwin Jackson (DET): 5.50 Runs

**Low Risk

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to go after our favorite fantasy pitcher, Edwin Jackson. He has been downright bad this season, owning a 9.35 ERA, 8.23 FIP, and 5.69 SIERA. He is pitching for the worst team in baseball. The Tigers have a run differential of -233 so I can see this one getting out of hand quickly. Detroit also ranks 27th in terms of bullpen efficiency, so when Jackson comes out I expect the runs to continue to pour. The Mariners are not at their best, slashing to a .295 wOBA, .123 ISO, and 86 WRC+. Despite the poor hitting averages, the Mariners are poised to break out of their hitting slump with a gravy starting pitcher and bullpen matchup.

Preferred Stack: Daniel Vogelbach ($3900 FD|$4300 DK), Domingo Santana ($3300 FD|$4400 DK), Mallex Smith ($3300 FD|$4200 DK), and J.P. Crawford ($3200 FD|$3800 DK). Omar Narvaez ($2600 FD|$4200 DK) for catcher on DK. Kyle Seager ($3400 FD|$4100 DK) and Austin Nola ($2700 FD|$3700 DK) for value.

MLB DFS Stack: Atlanta Braves

vs. LHP Steven Matz (NYM): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

The Braves will likely draw a nice chunk of ownership as they have been hitting well over the last month and it is a pretty small slate. They are slashing to a .331 wOBA, .181 ISO, and 101 WRC+. Steven Matz is on the mound and has massive struggles away from home, allowing hitters to slash to a .381 wOBA, .573 SLG, and .362 OBP. He has allowed 42 earned runs and 16 home runs in 55 innings pitched during that span. He owns a 4.49 ERA, 4.72 FIP, and 4.46 SIERA. His 47% GB rate coupled with a .315 BABIP should set the Braves up nicely for some extra base hits tonight.

Preferred Plays: Freddie Freeman ($4300 FD|$5600 DK), Ozzie Albies ($3700 FD|$5200 DK), Ronald Acuna Jr. ($4500 FD|$5700 DK), and Josh Donaldson ($3500 FD|$4700 DK). Ender Inciarte ($2700 FD|$3900 DK) and Adam Duvall ($2800 FD|$4200 DK). serve as good value plays.

Other Teams I Like

MLB DFS Stack: St. Louis Cardinals

vs. RHP Brad Keller (KCR): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate/High Risk

Preferred Plays: Paul Goldschmidt ($3900 FD|$4300 DK), Matt Carpenter ($3000 FD|$3800 DK), and Marcell Ozuna ($4200 FD|$4800 DK). Dexter Fowler ($3200 FD|$3800 DK) and Tommy Edman ($3100 FD|$4200 DK).

MLB Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers

vs. RHP Elieser Hernandez (MIA): 5.25 Runs

**Low Risk

Preferred Plays: Max Muncy ($3700 FD|$5100 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4600 FD|$5500 DK), Joc Pederson ($3200 FD|$4500 DK), and Corey Seager ($3300 FD|$4100 DK).

Pitching

  1. Clayton Kershaw LHP (LAD): 2.70 Runs
  2. Marco Gonzales LHP (SEA): 4.40 Runs
  3. Aaron Nola RHP (PHI): 4.45 Runs

This report will provide recommended DFS stack options for today’s eight-game main slate. I will also include my favorite pitching picks.

**All plays are listed in order of preference. Please check back between 5-6 PM EST as some players can receive rest days or get limited at bats especially as we get closer to the postseason. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.

MLB Stack: Colorado Rockies

vs. RHP Merrill Kelly (ARI): 7.50 Runs

**Low Risk

I’m going to get the Coors chalk out of the way to start things off. We have Merrill Kelly taking on the Rockies at home tonight. Kelly owns a 4.52 ERA, 4.61 FIP, and 4.82 SIERA. Kelly is allowing the second highest hard contact rate on the slate at 42.4% and 1.51 HR/9. He tends to struggle the most on the road, allowing righties to slash to a .335 wOBA, .479 SLG, and .325 OBP. He has allowed 28 earned runs in 36 innings pitched against them. Rockies batters are slashing to a .321 wOBA, .171 ISO, and 81 WRC+ over the last month and they get the highest implied run total here tonight.

Preferred Stack: Trevor Story ($4600 FD|$5600 DK), Nolan Arenado ($4500 FD|$5400 DK), Charlie Blackmon ($4700 FD|$5700 DK), and Ryan McMahon ($3200 FD|$4200 DK). Yonathon Daza ($2600 FD|$3200 DK) and Raimel Tapia ($3100 FD|$4100 DK) make excellent value plays.

MLB Stack: Arizona Diamondbacks

vs. RHP Peter Lambert (COL): 6.50 Runs

**Low Risk

Arizona hasn’t been as hot as you’d like them to be coming into tonight’s matchup, slashing to a .325 wOBA, .167 ISO, and 97 WRC+. Despite this, the Diamondbacks get a gravy matchup against Peter Lambert, who struggles immensely at home. He is allowing batters to slash to a .399 wOBA, .626 SLG, and .358 OBP. He has allowed 24 earned runs and nine home runs in 29 innings pitched. Colorado/Arizona will be very popular, so get creative in tournaments. Also looks like some pricing we can take advantage of on FanDuel, as Arizona bats are underpriced there.

Preferred Plays: Christian Walker ($3600 FD|$4900 DK), Eduardo Escobar ($4200 FD|$5500 DK), Ketel Marte ($4400 FD|$5500 DK), and David Peralta ($3800 FD|$4900 DK). Jake Lamb ($3100 FD|$4300 DK), Jarrod Dyson ($3200 FD|$5300 DK), and Carson Kelly ($3300 FD|$5200 DK). serve as good value plays.

Other Teams I Like

MLB Stack: Cincinnati Reds

vs. RHP Erick Fedde (WSH): 5.30 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Josh VanMeter ($2600 FD|$3700 DK), Jesse Winker ($3000 FD|$3800 DK), Joey Votto ($3400 FD|$3800 DK), and Eugenio Suarez ($4100 FD|$4500 DK). Aristicles Aquino ($3900 FD|$4400 DK)

MLB Stack: Toronto Blue Jays

vs. RHP Ariel Jurado (TEX): 5.50 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Bo Bichette ($4100 FD|$4500 DK), Randal Grichuk ($3000 FD|$3800 DK), Vlad Guererro Jr. ($3600 FD|$4200 DK), and Derek Fisher ($2600 FD|$3900 DK).

MLB Stack: Los Angeles Angels

vs. RHP Mitch Keller (PIT): 5.25 Runs

**Moderate Risk

Preferred Plays: Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5400 DK), Justin Upton ($3300 FD|$3600 DK), Shohei Ohtani ($3700 FD|$4300 DK), and Kole Calhoun ($3200 FD|$3800 DK). David Fletcher ($2900 FD|$3300 DK) for value.

Pitching

  1. Zack Greinke RHP (HOU): 3.20 Runs
  2. Anthony DeSclafani RHP (CIN): 5.00 Runs
  3. Joey Lucchesi LHP (SDP): 3.82 Runs

This report will provide stacks that I recommend for today’s 4 game early only slate on FD and 6 game slate on DK. I’ve also included my favorite one offs and value plays.

Minnesota Twins

vs. RHP Tanner Anderson (OAK)

Implied Run Total: 5.10 Runs

Tanner Anderson has a small sample size coming into today’s matchup (17.2 IP) but has struggled nonetheless. Anderson carries a 7.13 ERA, 5.30 FIP, and 4.17 SIERA. He has struggled more so to left handed batters, carrying a .473 wOBA, .730 SLG, and .439 OBP through 7.1 IP. The Twins are currently hitting below their season averages, slashing .295 wOBA, .164 ISO, and 81 WRC+ over the last two weeks. Their season averages sit at .343 wOBA, .232 ISO, and 112 WRC+. Despite the hitting slump for this Twins team, I will take the matchup and run with it, even with a limited sample size and inflated stats from Tanner’s last start against the Angels.

Preferred Stack: Nelson Cruz $4200 FD|$5200 DK, Max Kepler $3700 FD|$4600 DK, Jorge Polanco $3700 FD|$4500 DK, and Jason Castro $3000 FD|$4100 DK, Miguel Sano $3800 FD|$5000 DK

Pittsburgh Pirates

vs. LHP Jose Quintana (CHC)

Implied Run Total: 4.65 Runs

Jose Quintana comes into today’s matchup carrying a 4.21 ERA, 4.13 FIP, and 4.68 SIERA through 94 IP. He tends to struggle more to right handed batters. They carry a .325 wOBA, .442 SLG, and .325 OBP against Quintana through 69.2 IP. The Pirates are hitting slightly above their season averages against left handed pitching, slashing .291 wOBA, .133 ISO, and 84 WRC+. Tougher matchup for Pittsburgh against Quintana, who has been fairly dominant to lefties. Most of the Pirates power lies in their left handed batters, but I’m confident they can knock Quintana around a bit this afternoon.

Preferred Stack: Josh Bell $4600 FD|$5600 DK, Starling Marte $3900 FD|$5100 DK, Bryan Reynolds $3400 FD|$4800 DK, and Jose Osuna $2800 FD|$4800 DK.

Honorable Mentions

Seattle Mariners

vs. RHP Michael Wacha (STL)

Implied Run Total: 4.80 Runs

Preferred Stack: Domingo Santana $3700 FD|$5000 DK, Daniel Vogelbach $3600 FD|$4700 DK, J.P. Crawford $3100 FD|$4700 DK, Omar Narvaez $2500 FD|$4400 DK. I also like Tim Beckham (FD specific) $2700 FD|$3900 DK.

One-offs & Value Plays

Jose Martinez (STL) $2600 FD|$3900 DK, Paul Goldschmidt (STL) $3000 FD|$3800 DK. Kyle Schwarber (CHC) $3600 FD|$4100 DK, Franklin Barreto (OAK) $2000 FD|$3500 DK, Elias Diaz $2200 FD|$3500 DK.
