NBA DFS 2/3 — PG

Ja Morant, MEM (vs. DET) – DK $6,800

The price on Morant is quite inviting, and while we could elevate ownership tonight, I just really like this spot for GPPs. It’s two pace-up teams in the second-highest total of the slate, and Morant has a legitimate 8x upside. Stack possibilities abound, starting with the Detroit guards – Reggie Jackson and Bruce Brown. I like a multi-entry large-field GPP pivot to Terry Rozier at low ownership against Orlando, given folks normally stay away from them and the fact that combo guards like Rozier (PG/SG/G/UTIL eligible) are the most successful player type against the Magic.

Pivot/Stack: Terry Rozier/Reggie Jackson-Bruce Brown

NBA DFS 2/3 — SG

Devin Booker, PHO (@ BKN) – DK $8,600

I’m a big fan of both Booker and Spencer Dinwiddie here, but I’m spending the extra bit on Booker in most of my lineups. Booker hasn’t broken the 40-point barrier since Jan. 5 against Memphis, and I think he wants to get in on some of the recent high-scoring action. The good matchup, plenty of upsides, and really exactly what I’m looking for in GPPs. We’re probably going to want some GSW guards – Alec Burks seeming like the most exciting – if DeAngelo Russell sits tonight against the Wizards.

Pivot/Stack: Alec Burks/Spencer Dinwiddie

NBA DFS 2/3 — SF

Bradley Beal, WAS (vs. GSW) – DK $10,100

Keeping still very much in the swing of things with the guards, we can roster Beal in GPPs despite the ridiculous price because we know he’s got 50 real-life points in him in this matchup (Warriors yield more threes at a better percentage than just about anybody) and 70+ DK point upside. With no Luka Doncic, Beal and Kawhi Leonard offer the most upside at on the slate and both are SF-eligible. Kawhi might be a really good pivot if you want to get frisky with the narrative (vs. SA), but I’m not sold with Paul George back, minutes restriction or no minutes restriction. I also like Glenn Robinson in the matchup against the Wizards, especially if Russell sits.

Pivot/Value Stack: Kawhi Leonard/Glenn Robinson

NBA DFS 2/3 — PF

Thomas Bryant, WAS (vs. GSW) – DK $5,800

If we’re stacking the Wizardsand need a big, we can look at Thomas Bryant, especially if Bertans sits.Bryant has averaged 37 DK points over his last three games and I think there’s50+ upside in this matchup. Versatile, talented bigs like Bryant can beenormous slatebreakers, and this just seems like a huge spot for him based onthe trending minutes, upside and opportunity to shine against a feebleopponent. HG3 is another value monster tonight, so work him in if you can.

 Pivot/Stack: Harry Giles III/EricPaschall

 NBA DFS 2/3 — C

DeAndre Ayton, PHO (@ BKN) – DK $7,700

Stacking Booker and Ayton is an option if you want to grab some value Nets, but I like Ayton even as a one-off GPP play here. 20+ points and 15-20 rebounds are probably what we’re looking at here, and his upside is even higher. He’s going to be tough to fit if you’re playing $10K+ guys like Beal and Kawhi and maintaining exposure to the other high-projections games on the slate, but I’m fairly certain that Ayton is going to be over $8K with no sign of being this price again for a while. WCS is a solid GPP value option if you can’t spend up at the center.

Pivot/Stack: Willie Cauley-Stein/JarrettAllen

NBA DFS 2/1 — PG

Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN (@ WAS) – DK $7,400

Kyrie Irving went nuts last with 54 real-life points (71.25 DK points) in 32 minutes against a weak Chicago Bulls team, and he’s going to draw a lot of ownership against the Wizards tonight. While Dinwiddie isn’t starting, he’s going to have the ball in his hands a lot in the best matchup on the board and could see 30+ minutes off the bench – enough for him to reach his ceiling and hit 7x to 8x value. I’ll have some shares of Trae Young in GPPs as well, but getting exposure to Dinwiddie is a priority.

Pivot/Stack: Trae Young/Ish Smith

NBA DFS 2/1 — SG

DeAngelo Russell, GS (@ CLE) – DK $8,500

Russell draws a dream matchup against a Cavs team who struggles to defend combo and scoring guards, and the recent salary bump is guaranteed to keep a few folks off him. As long as we’re not having too much trouble finding value elsewhere (and being fearless) on this slate, it makes sense to disregard the $500 jump from Thursday and roll out Russell in a spot where he could score 40+ RLF and make 7x or more. I’ll stack him up with KPJ in a few given the young swingman no longer has a minutes restriction.

Pivot/Stack: Bradley Beal/Kevin PorterJr.

NBA DFS 2/1 — SF

Tim Hardaway Jr., DAL (vs. ATL) – DK $5,900

Without Luka Doncic the Mavs are going to need scoring from Hardaway and would have probably gotten some from Kristaps Porzingis – but the latter, who dominated under the basket against the Rockets yesterday when they were without Clint Capela, has been ruled out (rest). The Hawks don’t have a ton of size but do have Damian Jones and John Collins, which means we could see a lot of Maxi Kleber and Boban Marjanovic as well (more on them later). The high-energy THJ is in a great spot and could easily hit 8x or more tonight as his usage will be in the 25-30% range.

Pivot/Value Stack: Jaylen Brown/Cam Reddish

NBA DFS 2/1 — PF

Maxi Kleber, DAL (vs. ATL) – DK $3,800

Porzingis (rest) just got ruled out so we can plug in Maxi Kleber confidently (and fearlessly!), as his usage should see a significant bump without Doncic and KP. I had KP all written up for this pot a few minutes ago, but Kleber offers a significant discount and should be involved on both ends of the court Saturday night. Replacing all those fantasy points is going to be a group effort.

 Pivot/Stack: Jason Tatum/John Collins

NBA DFS 2/1 — C

Dwayne Dedmon, SAC (vs. LAL) – DK $4,900

It’s not a lot of fun rolling out Dedmon, especially with his price up to $4,900 from $3,700 just two nights ago, but he and Harry Giles ($3,000) are the Kings’ only options at center against the Lakers. They’re going to need some size to contend with the LA towers, so if he’s starting, he’s got a good chance of making 7x or more, so he’s an option. With KP ruled out, we could see Boban starting, and if that’s the case, he’s a lock at just $3,000 on DK.

Pivot/Stack: Boban Marjanovic/Dwight Howard (if AD sits)

NBA DFS 1/31— PG

JalenBrunson, DAL (@ HOU) – DK $3,800

Brunson is alock-and-load in all formats with Luka Doncic (out Friday, ankle) not travelingwith the team and possibly out for multiple games. There’s still reason to becautious, because we just don’t have a lot of data with Luka off the court thisseason – just a couple of games in December. In that small sample, we sawincreased usage for both Brunson and Kristaps Porzingis – two players I’ll be focusingon in GPPs.

Pivot/Stack:J.J. Barea/Russell Westbrook

NBA DFS 1/31— SG

Jrue Holiday,NO (vs. MEM) – DK $8,100

He’s flourishingwith Zion Williamson in the lineup as he did when Anthony Davis was with thePelicans, and this is a dream matchup for this hardworking combo guard. Therewill be plenty of chances at both ends for Holiday to contribute and haveanother huge game where he registers 7x or more value. You could start off alineup with Brunson and either Westbrook or Jams Harden, add in Holiday, andstill have over $5,500 per on DK to fill out your Forwards, center and utilityspots.

Pivot/Stack:James Harden/Dillon Brooks

NBA DFS 1/31— SF

Trevor Ariza,POR (@ LAL) – DK $5,000

The price hascome up on Ariza, but with Carmelo Anthony already ruled out, there’s still aclear path to 7x or more with Ariza playing against his old team in the StaplesCenter. The Lakers would be remiss not to focus their defensive efforts onstopping Damian Lillard, so expect a few more shots for the veteran defender anda busy day on both ends. Plenty of DFS folks will scoff at the new prices andlook elsewhere, and I’ll be fearlessly investing in another 35+ DK points at anaffordable price. There’s even a way to get the aforementioned players withboth Ariza and LBJ and still have $4K per if you want to take a crack at some stars/scrubsbuilds in multi-entry GPP.

Pivot/Stack:Will Barton/LeBron James

NBA DFS 1/31— PF

Brandon Clarke, MEM (@ NO) – DK $4,800

With Jaren Jackson Jr. suspended for a game following the fracas in the Garden on Wednesday night, we could see Clarke (also center eligible) getting the start against Zion and the Pels – making him a top-notch tournament play given his immense upside and point-per-minute fantasy efficiency. This is a game we’re going to need exposure to, and Clarke fits our GPP builds if he’s in the starting five and getting over 25-30 minutes. If you need even more value, Giannis Antetokounmpo is out again.

**UPDATE: With Brandon Clarke now listed doubtful to play on Friday, we can pivot to more Jonas Valanciunas and Jae Crowder. And since Clint Capela is not going tonight for Houston, we can use a lot more Isaiah Hartenstein, who is minimum salary on DK at just $3,000 and will be matched up with Porzingis.

Pivot/Stack: Eryan Ilyasova (if starting and Giannis out)/Zion Williamson

NBA DFS 1/31 — C

HassanWhiteside, POR (@ LAL) – DK $8,400

We’ve discussed plenty of high-priced guys in the Fearless Five so far, but if you want to roster a guaranteed low-owned, huge-upside center and find some value elsewhere, I think tonight could be the night for Whiteside to shine. The matchup is a terrible one on paper, but we could a few more minutes – and points, blocks, and rebounds – from the Blazers center in a tough matchup against the Lakers and their big frontcourt. The red number matchup is guaranteed to scare off the cautious DFS masses, and this is one of those nights where 55+ DK points are definitely in play.

Value Pivot: Jonas Valanciunas

1/30 Winner: Gordon Hayward

Here is a preview of what to expect from the NBA DFS Previews article written by Brandon C. Williams. Going up against the Golden State Warriors, he finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 33 minutes of action.

1/30 Winner: Nashville Predators Second Line

Above is a screenshot from The Daily Hot Shot article written by Richard Masana. The Predators had a lot of production out of their second line as Filip Forsberg finished with a pair of goals, Kyle Turris had a pair of assists and Victor Arvidsson had an assist as well. With five total points out of the second line, paying for them was definitely worth the price tag.

NBA DFS 1/30— PG

Kemba Walker,BOS (vs. GSW) – DK $7,900

Walker is puttingup a lot of shots recently and with Jayson Tatum is questionable (and likely tomiss another game or two), all the Celtics get a slight bump in usage. Theprice is still plenty affordable on DK and Golden State presents a favorablematchup where Kemba could go nuts and have a ceiling game (60+ DK points). TraeYoung is the only other logical PG with that kind of upside given the slate andthe matchups, but Kemba gives you an extra $2K to play with.

Pivot/Stack:Terry Rozier/DeAngelo Russell

NBA DFS 1/30— SG

Bradley Beal,WAS (vs. CHA) – DK $9,400

Beal is anotherguard with 60+ upside, and we’ll want to keep an eye on ownership before wecommit too much of our exposure to him – but the matchup is a solid one and we’llneed shares of him if we’re stacking up this game. I’m not going to be lockinghim in, but I can’t fade the guy. He’s not a crucial spend, so feel free to findvalue here and spend up elsewhere.

Value Pivot:Shake Milton

NBA DFS 1/30— SF

TobiasHarris, PHI (@ ATL) – DK $7,000

The Hawks give uplots of points to combo guards and scoring wings, so there’s a case to be madefor plenty of Harris exposure in GPPs, especially with Josh Richardson out. Thereare some blowout concerns here, but I’ll have shares of both Harris and ShakeMilton (a combo guard who’s starting for the Sixers). If the Hawks can keep itclose somehow, even better.

Value Pivot:Draymond Green

NBA DFS 1/30— PF

Thomas Bryant,WAS (vs. CHA) – DK $5,200

Bryant is eligible at four spots on DK (PF, C, F, and UTIL), and I recommend using him in all formats. He’s coming off a monster game that saw him log 32 minutes, and he could be a dominant force tonight against the Hornets. Even at 25-30 minutes, he’s a threat to notch a double-double and 8x salary. In this game (which has a 228 total) I’m also looking at PFs P.J. Washington and David Bertans, though I’ll probably stay away from playing all three in the same lineup.

Pivot/Stack: David Bertans/P.J. Washington

NBA DFS 1/30 — C

Joel Embiid,PHI (@ ATL) – DK $9,300

Embiid still feels like a risk to me, so if you’re playing him in cash games, have at it. But this is the Fearless Five, so we’re going to be using him in GPPs, where a 35-10 night against the lowly Hawks could see the big man net upwards of 65-70 DK points. Only Nikola Jokic offers a similar upside tonight at C, and he’s $800 more expensive.in a game, I’m not in love with it. The key here is minutes (since Embiid’s ceiling is about 2.0 PPM) – and if Al Horford doesn’t play tonight, we should see The Process log 30-35 minutes.

Pivot/Stack: Pascal Siakam/John Collins
