Recommendation: I recommend taking this odds boost. Brayden Point is the Lightning’s top goal scorer. Although he’s their best offensive player, he has yet to score a goal in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Lightning are up 3-0 in the series and look to close it out tonight in Game 4. Expect Point to put one up on the board tonight to help his team raise that Stanley Cup.

FanDuel Sportsbook is offering boosted bets for the NHL and MLB for tonight.

NHL: 7+ Total Goals Scored In Tampa Bay v Montreal Game 4 boosted from +210 to +250

Recommendation: Although these odds are juicy, I wouldn’t recommend wagering on either of these odds boosts.

DraftKings Sportsbook is offering boosted bets for the MLB and NHL tonight.

MLB: Kris Bryant to record 2+ hits boosted from +195 to +250

Tim Anderson to record a hit and Jose Abreu to record an RBI boosted from +190 to +230

NHL: Lightning to score first and win boosted from +165 to +200

MTL Canadiens to score last and win boosted from +175 to +200

Recommendation: The only odds boost I recommend would be Tim Anderson to record a hit and Jose Abreu to record an RBI +230. Tim Anderson is one of the better hitters in the league, and certainly the best on his team, leading with 86 hits and .298 batting average. Jose Abreu leads the White Sox in RBI’s with 61 on the season, which is 4th in the league. They are facing a struggling Bailey Ober, who has a mediocre 5.8 ERA, so expect these two to be hitting easily.

Welcome to Cash with Flash Best Bets Monday MLB Betting Column. We’re excited to be here and we’ll try and write in this space as often as time allows. 

Sunday saw a slight profit as we hit with the underdog Cubs but lost with the underdog Royals. That leaves us with a 29-24-11 mark over the history of this 2021 MLB Betting column. 

We’re ahead of the game because of the 16 underdogs and several short favorites we hit. More than half of our wins were from wagering on underdogs and without them we’d be trending in the wrong direction. That’s something we don’t want to do. 

The most important thing to remember when betting on baseball is finding underdogs as it takes a 52.4 percent success rate at -110 just to break even. This column will offer a mixture of mid to short favorites (-110 to -160) as well as underdogs at +200 and below.

We’re also looking at F5 inning wagers in order to eliminate bullpens, the church league softball extra-inning, man on second base and seven-inning doubleheader rules MLB has thrust upon us. 

Monday MLB Best Bets!

Unless otherwise indicated, all wagers are First Five Innings Wagers (F5).

In order to arrive at our conclusions, we’ll be using the principles found in Betting Baseball 101 

Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins

Game one of a three-game season series begins tonight at 7:05 pm and Chicago has an 8-1 season series edge.

Righty Dylan Cease (7-3, 3.75) is set to make the start tonight and over his last 15 innings pitched has allowed nine earned runs with 18 punchouts. He’s up against a Twins offense with a 23 percent strikeout rate, .184 ISO and wRC+ of 102 against right-handed pitching this season.

Right-hander Bailey Ober (0-1, 5.84) should make the start tonight and over his previous 11.2 innings pitched has allowed nine earned runs with 11 strikeouts. He’s up against a White Sox offense with a 23 percent strikeout rate, .146 ISO alongside a wRC+ of 107 against righties this season.

Cash with Flash Monday MLB Pick: White Sox -125

Boston Red Sox vs Los Angeles Angels

Game one of a scheduled, three-game series begins tonight at 9:30pm and Boston holds a 2-1 season series edge.

Lefty Martin Perez (6-4, 4.04) is the Boston probable starting pitcher and over his past 14 innings pitched has allowed three earned runs with eight strikeouts. He’ll meet an Angels offense with a 21.5 percent strikeout rate, .184 ISO and 112 wRC+ against southpaws this season.

Left-hander Jose Suarez (3-1, 1.98) should make the start tonight and over his previous 9.1 innings pitched has allowed two earned runs with ten strikeouts. He’s up against a Boston offense with a 21 percent strikeout rate, .173 ISO and wRC+ of 104 against lefties this season.

Before we get started I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a happy and safe Independence Day or Happy Treason Day if you live over the pond. We have five MLB games that we have to choose from on this beautiful July afternoon and I am going to find you a few areas to target and make a little cash. More or Less: Cubs at Reds

The Cubs are an absolute mess and have been striking out at a higher clip than any other team in the Majors over the last couple of weeks with no less than 11 K’s in 8-10 and no less than 8 K’s at in any of them. Throw in their abysmal .215/ .289 BA OBP on the road and Miley’s 5.5 looks more than reachable. We all know what Hendricks does and you can almost set your clock to it. 6 innings, 90 pitches, 4-5 K’s, rinse, repeat. I opt for the under today simply because the Reds are mashing this season and even better than their baseline suggests against groundball pitchers slugging .476 with a 123 tOPS and are only striking out at a rate of 7.66 K/9.

More or Less:

Poor Detroit. Year in and year out they are one of the worst teams in baseball and 2021 is no different. They are the very worst in the league with a 27% strikeout percentage, 7th worst with a .150 ISO, and 9th worst in hits per game with 7.69. Now they get Lucas Giolito who has a 29.4% K-Rate and has already started against the Tigers twice striking out nine in each contest. This could go to 8.5 and I would still be good. Matt Manning may not get out of the second inning today and in three contests this season he has not exceeded 3 K’s in any of them and he was awful in Triple-A before being called up with an 8.07 ERA across seven starts. The White Sox are middling in more offensive categories this season but Manning really has no business being in the Majors at this point and the vast majority of his pitches are four-seamers right down the middle of the plate at 93 mph. This is going to look like batting practice.

Home Run Derby: Orioles at Angels

My picks: Ohtani, Walsh, Mountcastle

I feel for Thomas Eshelman, the Orioles, and Orioles fans this afternoon. This is a perfect storm for the Angels to smash today. His K rate in a tiny sample is 7%, opponent launch angle is 21.7 percent (which is optimum against pitches under 80 mph which account for around 52% of his pitches), wind blowing out to center at around 10 mph, and oh yeah he has to compete against two of the top seven home run leaders in Jared Walsh and Shohei Ohtani. For my Orioles player, I am going to roll with Ryan Mountcastle who is hitting lefties well with a .506 Slugging percentage and four of his 14 home runs in 81 at-bats. Choose your goal based on your tolerance but I keep it simple and opt to double my money.

BetMGM is offering another Lion’s Boosts today, which is for the Euro 2020. The boosted bet for BetMGM is for Italy to score first in 90 minutes boosted from -115 to +100.

Recommendation: I do like this odds boost, as Italy is one of the better offensive teams in their group, but they have a tough defensive team in Belgium, who is their opponent for today so I wouldn’t recommend taking this boosted bet. Belgium also has good goal scorers, so they could very well shut out Italy, while scoring before them.

Fanduel Sportsbook is offering boosted bets for the NHL and Soccer (Euro 2020) for today.

NHL: Tampa Bay to Win Series 4-0 v Montreal boosted from +185 to +225

Recommendation: I wouldn’t recommend taking either of these odds boosts, as they have good value, but I personally don’t see either of them being worthy of risking money.

Southpaw Jordan Montgomery (3-2, 4.06) is the Yankees probable starting pitcher for tonight and has allowed eight earned runs with 15 strikeouts over his past 16.2 innings pitched. He’ll meet a Mets offense with a 25 percent strikeout rate, .144 ISO and wRC+ of 89 against lefties this season.

Boston Red Sox vs Oakland Athletics

Game one of a scheduled, three-game series is set to take place at 9:40 pm tonight with the Athletics holding a 2-1 season series edge.

Lefty Eduardo Rodriquez (6-4, 5.83) is set to man the bump tonight and over his previous 16 innings pitched has allowed nine earned runs with 23 punchouts. He’ll face an Oakland offense with a 23 percent strikeout rate, .168 ISO and wRC+ of 103 against lefties this season.

Righty Frankie Montas (7-7, 4.72) is the Athletics probable starting pitcher for tonight and has surrendered a dozen earned runs with 19 strikeouts over his past 17.2 innings pitched. He’ll meet a Boston offense with a 24 percent strikeout rate, .177 ISO along with a wRC+ of 104 against right-handed pitching this season.

BetMGM is back today with another Lion’s Boost. They are offering boosted bets for tonight’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals, which is Bogdan Bogdanovic to make 1+ three-pointers in the 1st quarter boosted from -125 to -105.

Recommendation: I recommend taking this boosted bet, as Bogdanovic is known for his 3pt prowess. He hasn’t been performing to his best ability this series, but the volume is there for him, as he shot 14 3’s last game, converting on 6 of them. Bogdan is going to be important in this game, as he is going to have to produce more offense in place of the injured Trae Young.

In one of the most pivotal games of the series, both of these guys are going to have to step up on offense and contribute more than you usually do in wake of the injured Giannis. I expect them to be able to score more than 25 points each tonight.
