Today we will be going over our Sports Bets for 7.24.

Guidelines

It’s imperative to have correct bankroll management.  This can vary slightly person to person based on a few variables however around 100 units is correct.  It doesn’t matter how much money is in your bankroll as long as you are betting the correct amount of units.  The units that I will be attributing to each bet are based off of having the correct bankroll and the correct bankroll management.

Patience is immensely important to succeeding in both DFS and Betting Sports.  There will be some days that the Sports Betting Picks don’t work out.  Not pressing or doing anything hastily on those days goes a long way toward winning at the end of the year.  There will also be some days that don’t have many bets at all.  You need to accept that and not bet games just to get more action.

Three StriKes for Friday July 24

Today represents the first full day of MLB action and I can’t miss that chance to join the fun. Normally, Three StriKes will just be four days a week but we’re making the exception for this slate. With that said, let’s see who we’re chasing for Three StriKes for Friday July 24. A perfect site to get a look the night before is monkeyknifefight.com, which we have a link to get started!

StriKe One – Shane Bieber, Indians

As a reminder, we don’t have the actual strikeout props when this is being written but we’ll set our numbers we’re comfortable betting. Bieber catches my eye on this slate because he’s facing the Royals, who already carried a 23% K rate to RHP in 2019. Kansas City stands to get Jorge Soler back from a family matter but will be missing Hunter Dozier. That’s a significant knock on this offense.

Bieber saw his K rate climb all the way to 30.1% in 2019 so that’s a nice check in his box. Additionally, his main two weapons were the fastball and slider, combining for right about 75% of his pitches. Kansas City ranked 24th vs the fastball and 29th vs the slider. That slider mark is actually even worse than it reads because Dozier ranked fifth in the majors against that pitch.

The Royals will welcome back catcher Salvador Perez this season but that is not a reason to avoid them for our purposes. I’m very happy to be looking towards Bieber tonight.

Bet – Hoping for 7.5, likely to bet Over on 8.5. Hammer the Over on Monkey Knife Fight.

StriKe Two – Justin Verlander, Astros

The reigning Cy Young winner is on the mound (Gerrit Cole should have won it) tonight in Houston and I’m quite happy to look in his direction. The matchup is juicy on paper as Verlander posted his best K% of his storied career at 35.4% and Seattle was the fourth-worst strikeout team to RHP in 2019.

This lineup is…well, it’s not good for the rebuilding Mariners. The best batting average was Mallex Smith at .254 which is ugly. Verlander should mow these guys down without much issue. Not like he needs more of an advantage, but the Mariners were no better than 16th against the fastball of slider last season. Verlander checks about everything we could ask for. The only holdup would be if we get some type of pitch count during the day, so hold off on placing the bet.

Bet – Hopeful for 8.5, likely to bet Over on 9.5

StriKe Three – Jack Flaherty, Cardinals

This is the one that I’m the least certain on and will likely lower my bet for Three Strikes Friday July 24. Flaherty might seem like a slam dunk in this spot. He’s pitching at home and the Pirates offense is fighting with the Mariners as one of the worst in the game. Partly fueled by his incredible second half, Flaherty spun a 29.9% K rate in 2019.

Here’s where the catch comes in. The Pirates were awful last year from a runs per game perspective, 12th worst. However, they only whiffed 18.8% of the time which was the second-best mark in the majors. Flaherty did face the Pirates last year twice and racked up 18 total strikeouts so that’s an interesting note.

With the Pirates losing hitters like Gregory Polanco and Melky Cabrera for 2020, the offense is likely even worse. With only 2019 data right now, the K rate has to be noted but I believe Flaherty overcomes it.

Bet – Hoping for 6.5, likely to bet Over on 7.5. Hammer the Over on Monkey Knife Fight.

Parlay – Half unit if we get our hopeful numbers, quarter unit if we don’t

2020 Record – 1-1

Three StriKes for Thursday July 23

Welcome into the inaugural edition of Three StriKes!! I’m super pumped to be bringing this article to the WinDaily team this season and looking forward to winning some money. We’re looking at my three favorite strikeout props, hence the Three StriKes for Thursday July 23. If you’re interested in learning a bit more of the process, I do have an intro right here.

With Thursday being a short slate, we’ll talk about the top three pitchers on the slate but I’m not sure I’ll be betting three tonight. If I do, it will likely go down to a quarter unit instead of a normal half unit in some cases and will be noted as such. Also, I will always put at least a quarter unit on a parlay of all three bets. When we get all three right, we may as well make it worth it.

StriKe One – Gerrit Cole

The very first pitcher ever written up for Three StriKes is near and dear to my heart, Gerrit Cole. As a point of reference, almost all of my betting will be done on DraftKings Sportsbook as that’s the most convenient for me personally. So when talking about the lines, they’ll be as accurate as they can at the time of writing for that site. Cole has opened up at 7.5 strikeouts at -155. While the return might not be great, this is an easy over in my eyes.

First off, he threw 87 pitches in his most recent tune up so workload isn’t a concern. Secondly, only seven of his 33 starts last year produced under eight strikeouts. That’s a very comfortable rate and the Nationals whiffed 21% of the time last year against righty pithing. Losing Anthony Rendon won’t help that mark. We have the preeminent strikeout pitcher from 2019 and his line isn’t even the highest in his own game.

Bet – Over 7.5 K’s

StriKe Two – Max Scherzer

This one is a little tougher and whichever way we bet is going to be just a quarter unit for Three StriKes for Thursday. This would be a line I might normally skip on a bigger slate but let’s have some fun.

Scherzer is set at 8.5 K’s and there are arguments for either side. Here’s the good news for Scherzer and one of the main reasons I lean to the over – he was dominant to RHH in 2019 and there’s a projected seven of them for the Yankees. Mad Max whiffed RHH at a 38.6% clip and held them down to a 0.65 HR/9. He also gave up just a .193 average, 1.62 FIP and a 2.22 xFIP.

Additionally, the Yankees did strikeout at a 23.1% clip last year to RHP. That was virtually without Giancarlo Stanton, who whiffed 31.1% of the time in 2018 (he missed almost all of 2019). What Scherzer comes down to is if he can keep the ball in the yard against this powerful Yankees lineup.

New York against RHH raked for power, ranking third in ISO at .218 and OPS at .820. For all of Stanton’s flaws, he also helps in this category. My view is Scherzer gives up a couple runs, but can control this RHH heavy lineup. I just won’t put a ton on it.

Bet – Small wager on Over 8.5 K’s

StriKe Three – Clayton Kershaw

Just because there’s only two games doesn’t mean we can’t have Three StriKes for Thursday! Kershaw does not currently have a K prop set yet. This will be a normal occurrence because I will be writing the night before, but that’s ok. We’ll discuss some of the stats and we’ll set a line that we feel comfortable with and go from there.

In 2019, Kershaw threw his fastball and slider for a combined 83.1% of his pitches. That’s a fantastic match against the Giants pitch data from 2019, as they ranked 28th vs the fastball and 24th vs the slider. That’s a strong checkmark for Kershaw and his 26.8% K rate from last season. He also has thrown 90 pitches in sim games, so we can feel comfortable with the workload.

There are a couple small drawbacks for Kershaw in this matchup. For one, his HR/9 last year jumped to 1.41. That’s easily the highest of his career so it was technically never easier to tag Kershaw for a bomb. The flip side to that is the Giants only had a .142 ISO, so it remains to be seen if they can take advantage of the long ball.

The other small knock is the Giants were not a big strikeout team against LHP at 23%. That was dead average at 16th among the league, so it wasn’t a glaring weakness. Still, this is not a lineup that should scare you at all. I’m hoping for a 5.5 K prop, but it’s likelier to be 6.5 K’s.

Bet – 5.5 is an easier over, I’m likely to still hit Over 6.5

Parlay – Cole and Kershaw over as Kershaw came in at my preferred 5.5

Three StriKes: A Preview for 2020

Baseball is roughly about 48 hours away and we’re incredibly close to getting back on the diamond. This season, I’ll be bringing you an article called Three StriKes about four days a week. When I don’t write an article, I will still have plays in the Discord so be sure to join that as well!

So, what exactly does Three StriKes entail? This article is going to be based on strikeout props for that day throughout the season. For instance, Gerrit Cole is likely to hover around 9.5 strikeouts on Opening Day. While we won’t be betting every single prop, we’ll be using some analytics to guide our decision. As a rule, I’ll be betting 0.5 units on every prop and then the same amount on a parlay. The days we hit all three will pay off handsomely. Let’s take a look at some of the analytics and stats that are going to drive our decisions!

Three StriKes Metric – Strikeout % for the pitcher

This one is fairly obvious but we have to start somewhere. Using Cole as an example again, his K% in 2019 was 39.9%. That was the highest among starting pitchers, and led to just 12 starts of his 33 that had single digit strikeouts. Even with a changing of teams, Cole should be relatively the same pitcher and a 9.5 K prop would be interesting.

Three StriKes Metric – Strikeout % for the team vs pitcher handedness

If we were looking for Opening Day, we should look at the Nationals strikeout rate when facing RHP. In 2019, it was 21% and that was with Anthony Rendon. Even though that was top 10 in the league, that mark wouldn’t scare me against Cole.

Three StriKes Metric – Pitch Type

This is one of the more important factors for me. If a team is very good against a pitcher’s main weapons, that’s a red flag with the mid-tier pitchers. It’s a little different with a player like Cole who is elite. We’re not getting elite pitchers everyday so we have to cherry pick the best possible spots. Cole’s main weapons were his fastball and slider. Compared to the Nationals, they ranked fifth vs the fastball and 16th vs the slider. Again, advantage Cole in my mind.

Three StriKes Metric – Last 14 days of stats

This obviously won’t come into play for a bit, but teams go through streaks both hot and cold. There was a point last season for about a month where the St. Louis Cardinals were one of the worst teams in baseball against RHP. I hammered them in DFS for awhile with good results. Noticing the trends is going to be helpful for Three StriKes, even in a short season. It should also be noted that this will not be a main metric, just an addition.

Three StriKes Metric – Game Logs

This is simply going to mean that we look at how the pitcher is doing through the season. If the prop is higher than a pitcher has achieved all year, it’s easy to back away from that particular mark. If the prop is at a point where the pitcher exceeds it more often than not, we’re likelier to be in business on the over.

There will be other stats that pop up through the season. Basically what we’re looking for is anything to give us an edge and make some money this season!

I would like to welcome everyone to the Win Daily Sports Betting Section. We are dedicated to providing you with the best Sports Betting Picks possible.  I’m going to go over a few guidelines that will make the betting section easier to navigate.

It’s imperative to have correct bankroll management.  This can vary slightly person to person based on a few variables however around 100 units is correct.  It doesn’t matter how much money is in your bankroll as long as you are betting the correct amount of units.  The units that I will be attributing to each bet are based off of having the correct bankroll and the correct bankroll management.


Patience is immensely important to succeeding in both DFS and Betting Sports.  There will be some days that the Sports Betting Picks don’t work out.  Not pressing or doing anything hastily on those days goes a long way toward winning at the end of the year.  There will also be some days that don’t have many bets at all.  You need to accept that and not bet games just to get more action.

Superbowl Sunday!!! This is a day a lot of people look forward to all year. It’s a fun day, watching the finality of the NFL season. From a betting perspective it’s just another game. Sometimes Superbowl’s have tremendous value. This is unfortunately not one of those times. These 2 teams deserve to be here. Neither has had a lucky run, or has an altered perception. They are both elite is different areas and utilized those to get to this game.

When that’s the case the game comes down to who will be able to implement their strengths the best. That’s why I have landed on the Chiefs. As phenomenal as the 49ers pass rush is, and as well as their defense can play, I believe it will not be nearly as effective against the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs will get the ball out quick enough. They will also be able to extend plays and therefore still have those big plays develop down the field. Once I give the Chiefs the range of points I believe they score on average, the 49ers offense just can’t match often enough. There are paths for the 49ers to win, such as TO’s, and the few times their D line is super effective. So like I said not a game to go nuts on. However, that’s why we are going on the Chiefs, as that’s where the value is.

Like I said earlier, despite the hype and build up this is one game. There’s no need to fire a ton of units for no reason. On top of that as I also want to reiterate, the line isn’t skewed. It’s a relatively fair line that I believe is just overvaluing the 49ers, however it’s not a line that’s flat wrong because of public perception or other factors. This is even more reason to stay within a reasonable amount of units. The Chiefs have a tendency to get down early, especially lately. On top of it the 49ers D will get more and more fatigued chasing them around all game. Live bets on the Chiefs definitely makes sense if you can get them at good prices. If you want to get in more action that would be the smart way to go about it. Enjoy the game!!!
