10/10 DFS Winner: Howie Kendrick

With a trip to the NLCS on the line betwen the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Nationals, the tensions were high in Game 5, Howie Kendrick went 1-for-5 but his one hit was the biggest in the top of the 10th inning when he came up with the bases loaded and hit a grand slam to center field to give the Nationals the win. Expect Kendrick to be a decent player in the NLCS against the St Louis Cardinals.

10/10 DFS Winner: Tommy Edman

Here is a snapshot from our Hitter Projection Model that is available to all Premium members. Tommy Edman had a solid day at the plate against the Atlanta Braves in Game 5 of the NLDS. Edman went 2-for-5 with a double, triple, two RBI and two runs scored.

10/10 DFS Winner: Juan Soto

Here is a little snippet of our MLB Showdown article by Antonio D’Arcangelis where he highlighted Juan Soto. The 20-year-old went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a pair of runs scored. His home run was huge, as it tied the game in the eighth inning off of Clayton Kershaw. Expect Juan Soto to have an even better NLCS with the St Louis Cardinals not having Jack Flaherty pitch until Game 2 at the earliest.

10/3 DFS Two-Game Slate (DK & FD)

The games: St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves (5:02 p.m. EST) & Washington Nationals at Los Angeles Dodgers (8:37 p.m. EST)

10/3 DFS SP General Strategy

The one-game playoffs are over, so SP1s are much more important, could rack up some big-time points and will set the tone for the entire roster construction. There’s plenty of SP2 value here.

SP1: Walker Buehler, LAD vs. WAS (DK $9,600, FD $10,200)

The pricing is fair on both sites considering Buehler’sceiling, although he’ll have a shorter leash than the regular season. Still –the 29.2 K% stands out as a number we can latch onto and invest in, along withthe 12.2% HR/FB rate. The young ace has been the Dodgers’ most consistentstarter in 2019 and is your best bet at SP1. Ownership will be massive and I’llmake sure to leave him out of 1-2/10 GPP lineups, but we can find ways todifferentiate later.

SP2: Dallas Keuchel, ATL vs. STL (DK $6,800, FD $8,100)

I’m not interested in Miles Mikolas and the small discount on FD, and he’s just too risky against the Braves lineup at their home park in Atlanta. I may slap in both Keuchel and Mikolas in the aforementioned 1-2/10 lineups on DK and stack the biggest bats from the hitting options below, but Keuchel’s postseason record (4-2, 3.31 ERA in nine starts and 10 total appearances) is something I’m drawn to. Keuchel’s .219 BAA and 3.38 SIERA in the postseason further solidify my interest.

10/3 DFS Hitters

10/3 DFS C: Yadier Molina, STL (DK $3,800, FD $2,700)

You’re paying for experience (343 postseason plate appearances) and the highest floor of the available catchers. I’m probably not playing catchers on FD but you get a real discount with Molina. Brian McCann ($3,400 on DK) has legit home run upside but poor postseason numbers in 126 plate appearances (.170/.254/.304 slash). Will Smith is neutralized a bit by LHPs and Kurt Suzuki is a contrarian dart throw for large-field GPPs.

10/3 DFS 1B: Cody Bellinger, LAD (DK $5,000)

The price is right and he’s got the biggest upside excluding Paul Goldschmidt, who might get pretty chalky. I’m not worried about lefty-lefty and Corbin may not last long. Bellinger is an OF on FD and OF eligible on DK. Plug him in there. Pivot: Freddie Freeman, ATL (DK $4,700, FD $4,200). I’m concerned about the bone spur in his elbow and may choose to avoid him here. Freddie is risky but has a favorable matchup against Mikolas.

10/3 DFS 2B: Ozzie Albies, ATL (DK $4,500, FD $3,700)

Tommy Edman ($5,300 on DK) is 2B/3B eligible on DK and makes for an interesting pivot against the LHP, but I like Albies hitting in the 2-spot here despite his splits favoring him versus lefties. If he’s chalky, I’ll look to use the more expensive Edman. Pivots: Edman, Asdrubal Cabrera

10/3 DFS 3B: Justin Turner, LAD (DK $3,900, FD $3,200)

The 34-year-old is nursing a tight back, but he’s assured us he will play in Game 1 and is coming off a solid season where he tied his career high with 27 homers – while driving in 67 runs and slashing .290/.372/.509 in 135 games. I’m taking the plunge and hoping for low ownership because of the back.

10/3 DFS SS: Chris Taylor, LAD (DK $3,600)

Taylor is a relatively cheap OF on FD ($2,800) but the price on Dk is solid too. Remember when this guy just couldn’t get it going early in the season? After his dreadful April when he slashed .171/.263/.257, Taylor settled in, and he’s got plenty of postseason experience with a 139 wRC+ in 30 games.

10/3 DFS OF: Kike Hernandez (DK $3,300)

Hernandez is a $2,900 second baseman on FD, but he’s just $3,300 on Dk and the price can get you a full Dodgers stack without too much trouble. He kills southpaws (career 123 wRC+ and .213 ISO vs. LHPs) and he’s got five HRs in 103 postseason plate appearances. Pivot: Matt Joyce

10/3 DFS OF: Juan Soto (DK $4,100, FD $3,800)

I’m buying Soto despite the tough matchup, planning on him coming up in a big spot late in the game, and delivering. Soto showed us something in the Wild Card game the small sample 0-for-5 BvP against Buehler will keep his ownership low. The price is cheap and if he fits, I’ll use him. Pivots: Marcell Ozuna, Ronald Acuna

10/3 DFS OF: A.J. Pollock, LAD (DK $3,700, FD $3,400)

He rounds out my Dodgers stack on DK and makes sense as a third outfielder on FD. Pollock sports a blistering 136 wRC+ against LHPs and a 154 wRC+ at home vs. LHPs. Pivot: Dexter Fowler

10/3 DFS FeaturedShowdown (8:37 p.m. on DK)

I’ll have some shares with Buehler as CPT and a few inexpensivebats and bench players (Gavin Lux, Brian Dozier are both viable bench optionsin large-field Showdown GPPs), but the majority of lineups will feature Pollock,Turner, Taylor and Hernandez at CPT with shares of Soto, Howie Kendrick, VictorRobles and Cabrera for the Nats.

10/2 Betting Winners – Phil Naessens

If you are a Premium Gold subscriber, you’ll get access to a multitude of exclusive content. One of those features is Cash with the Flash, where Phil Naessens tells you his favorite bets for the day. Obviously with the one-game Wild Card going on, it’s difficult to decide where to put your money. However, Phil hit it on the head and if you followed his bet, you’d be sitting pretty with extra money in your bankroll.

10/1 DFS Winner: Juan Soto

Premium Gold members have access to databases like our MLB Projection Model. It would be difficult to leave Juan Soto off this article for what he was able to do in the N.L. Wild Card game. The box score shows Soto as 1-for-4 with two RBI, but his production was much more than that. In the eighth inning with the bases loaded and down two, he ripped a single to right. Rookie Trent Grisham, who is essentially replacing Christian Yelich, misplayed the ball and allowed the hit to clear the bases. This gave the struggling Nationals offense life and energized the team to a NLDS matchup against the Dodgers.

Outlook for the rest of the season: Juan Soto was the hero that Washington needed last night. The Brewers were shutting down the Nationals offense with ease for most of the game and their 20-year-old stud outfielder literally saved their entire season. Soto only had six total bases in five games against the Dodgers during the regular season so expect him to struggle a bit throughout the NLDS.

10/2 DFS Winner: Yasmani Grandal

Yasmani Grandal helped the Milwaukee Brewers almost steal the Wild Card game last night. Grandal finished 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a walk. The home run was an early blow as many expected Max Scherzer to dominate, but after Grisham worked a walk to to open the game, Grandal homered on the first pitch he saw. The catcher has a mutual option for 2020 so this potentially could be his final game with the Brewers.

10/2 DFS Winner: Lucas Pouille

Another hit from our Cash with the Flash article as Lucas Pouille defeated Yoshihito Nishioka rather covincingly 6-1, 6-2. His next matchup will be in the quarterfinals against top seeded Novak Djokovic early Thursday morning.

9/23 DFS Hitting Picks and Stacks: Monday Mayhem

For the final Monday of the regular season, we have an abbreviated five-game slate ahead of us. While that’s small, it should make for a fun schedule. What’s crazy about this time of the year are all of the wacky managerial decisions. Many pitchers are having pitch counts limited and many teams who are out of it are experimenting and it’s causing chaos for DFS players. With that in mind, we only have two great stacks, so, let’s get to our 9/23 DFS hitting picks and stacks of the day.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Clay Buchholz

While Baltimore may not be the prettiest team of the day, they’re easily my favorite stack. That’s one of the major reasons I like them though, as they should be low-owned. That paired with this matchup is a beautiful recipe. With the O’s squaring off with Clay Buchholz. The Toronto righty has been atrocious this season, pitching to a 7.16 ERA and 1.55 WHIP since his first start. That’s a nightmarish nine-game stretch and Baltimore was a major part of that, dropping seven runs and 10 hits on him in his most recent outing. Getting to use the Orioles is a huge salary saver too and these guys will be sprinkled into all of my lineups.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Jhoulys Chacin

While Chacin is only expected to go a handful of innings, we still love the Rays. Let’s begin with that starter, as Chacin is pitching to a 5.66 ERA and 1.55 WHIP this season. Those dreadful numbers should get Tampa off to a nice start and then the bullpen should continue their big evening. In fact, the Red Sox bullpen is allowing 5.07 runs per game, ranking 20^th in MLB. That gives the Rays great matchup after great matchup and all of these guys are reasonably affordable too.

9/23 DFS Hitting Stacks of the Day

9/23 DFS Hitting Catcher

Wilson Ramos, NYM vs. MIA

DK ($3,600) FD ($2,500)

It was very tough to pick a catcher on this slate but Ramos is always a good option. What makes him intriguing today is the fact that he gets to face a lefty, with Ramos accumulating a .350 AVG, .424 OBP and .958 OPS with the platoon advantage in his favor this season. He actually has a .910 OPS against lefties dating all the way back to 2017 and he clearly sees the ball a lot better from that side. This happens to be a struggling lefty too, with Caleb Smith pitching to a 6.38 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over his last eight starts.

9/23 DFS Hitting First Baseman

Ji-Man Choi, TB vs. BOS

DK ($4,400) FD ($3,100)

This is probably my favorite per-dollar play on the board. The reason for that is because Choi has been one of the best hitters in the league the last month, providing a .303 AVG, .417 OBP, .621 SLG and 1.038 OPS over his last 22 games. That’s really no surprise when you see his splits, with Choi generating a .373 OBP, .498 SLG and .871 OPS against right-handers since 2017. That’s why the Rays typically bat him leadoff or cleanup in these circumstances, only adding to his value in this superb matchup

9/23 DFS Hitting Second Baseman

Starlin Castro, MIA at NYM

DK ($3,900) FD ($3,000)

This is one of the first times I’ve written up a Marlin all season but Castro has quietly had a nice year for them. Collecting 21 homers and 84 RBI for this lineup and nightmare ballpark is a testament to how good Castro has been and he’s simply way underpriced on these DFS sites. The thing that makes him enticing today is that he gets to face a lefty, with Castro providing a .325 AVG, .541 SLG and .895 OPS against them this season. We’re really not concerned about Steven Matz and his 4.54 FIP and 1.33 WHIP either.

9/23 DFS Hitting Third Baseman

Vladimir Guerrero Jr, TOR vs. BAL

DK ($4,000) FD ($3,200)

Why is this dude priced so cheaply? He’s been one of the best hitters in the AL since putting on a show in the Home Run Derby and it’s just a matter of time before he’s one of the best hitters in our sport. Since July 19, Guerrero has a .325 AVG, .383 OBP, .515 SLG and .899 OPS. That’s the stud that we were waiting for and we have to love him against Dylan Bundy’s 4.89 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. In 53 at-bats against this putrid pitching staff, Guerrero is hitting .472 en route to a .717 SLG and 1.217 OPS.

9/23 DFS Hitting Shortstop

Jonathan Villar, BAL at TOR

DK ($4,900) FD ($3,500)

Villar is easily my favorite play of our Orioles stack. He’s expected to hit leadoff against Buchholz and that alone puts him in play. His recent form is absolutely absurd too, with Villar posting a .327 AVG, .397 OBP, .578 SLG and .976 OPS over his last 53 games played. He also has 21 steals in that span and he’s simply one of the best power-speed guys in the league right now. Getting the platoon advantage against Buchholz is the icing on the cake, with Villar amassing a .357 OBP, .470 SLG and .827 OPS against righties while swiping 29 of his 38 steals this season.

9/23 DFS Hitting Outfielders

Juan Soto, WSH vs. PHI

DK ($5,100) FD ($4,200)

We provided a ton of value in the infield write-ups, so let’s give you guys some studs in the outfield. Soto is just that, as he’s one of the league leaders with a .401 OBP and .966 OPS. Those are amazing numbers from a 20-year-old and much of that damage has come recently. Over his last 50 games, Soto has a .415 OBP, .667 SLG and 1.082 OPS. That’s bad news for Zach Eflin, with Soto totaling a .414 OBP .602 SLG and 1.015 OPS against right-handers this season.

Austin Meadows, TB vs. BOS

DK ($5,500) FD ($4,400)

Meadows has truly broken out as one of the best OF’s in the AL and it appears we have a perennial All-Star for years to come. Any rookie with 32 homers and a .286 AVG is impressive but it’s also backed up by a .563 SLG and .921 OPS. He’s absolutely scorching right now too, accruing a .325 AVG, .394 OBP, .737 SLG and 1.131 OPS over his last 29 games played. Facing Chacin and this crappy bullpen is simply a bonus, with Meadows posting a .383 OBP, .582 SLG and .964 OPS against righties so far this year.

Marcell Ozuna, STL at ARI

DK ($4,500) FD ($3,300)

I really don’t want to stack against Alex Young with the way he’s pitching but Ozuna is a nice one-off. We’re still talking about a guy with a .282 AVG, .488 SLG and .832 OPS dating back to 2017 and he’s simply one of the best power bats in baseball. He’s always been better against southpaws despite his down numbers this year, posting a .288 AVG, .353 wOBA and .490 SLG against them for his career. Young is certainly a guy who could see some negative regression too, with the lefty’s 4.51 xFIP way off of his 3.27 ERA.

It’s been a B-Dub Weekend, so let’s close out the weekend with the 8/25 DFS Hitting and Stacks and add little more of the long green that several of our WDS crew have added to their bank accounts.

Eleven games dot the bulk of the schedule, but the later starts do offer a gem or two.

8/25 DFS Hitting Catcher

Omar Navarez, SEA vs. TOR

DK ($4,600), FD ($2,500)

Navarez gets the decisive edge as the lefty bat going against Clay Buchholz, who comes off the DL. Navarez has homered in both games this weekend and has thrived at home, going .295/.365/.494 with 11 of his 19 homers coming at Petco Park. I’ll trust in his 40.2% fly ball rate versus a hurler who allowed five homers in 24 innings before going on the DL in early May.

8/25 DFS Hitting First Baseman

Jose Abreu, CWS vs. TEX

DK ($4,600), FD ($4,000)

A six-game hitting streak that has seen Abreu score at least once in five of those games is one reason I’m looking at the Pale Hose slugger today. Abreu is more productive in the daytime, sporting a .855 OPS with 10 homers. Oddly enough, he’s stolen both of his bases in the natural light. Rangers rookie hurler Brock Burke makes his second big league, but both you and the lefty should know Abreu has gone .353/.393/.603 (.996 OPS) with eight homers and 25 ribbies against southpaws.

8/25 DFS Hitting Second Baseman

Jose Altuve, HOU vs. LAA

DK ($5,100), FD ($4,000)

Altuve has scored at least one run in seven of his last eight games and has consecutive multi-hit games. Angels starter Jaime Barria has given up four hits in nine at-bats against Altuve with a .990 OPS against. Altuve is also riding the wave of a career-high .245 Isolated Power, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes Barria deep today. If so, he will equal his career-best with 24 homers. He’d be a good anchor in a 8/25 DFS Hitting and Stacks lineup leaning heavily with Astros.

8/25 DFS Hitting Shortstop

Francisco Lindor, CLE vs. KC

DK ($5,200), FD ($4,300)

The Royals brought up Eric Skoglund for today’s start, which probably made Lindor sleep like a kid on Christmas Eve. Lindor has just four career at-bats against Skoglund, but he’s hit a pair of homers and stolen a pair of bases off the KC southpaw. Lindor hasn’t been lights out of late, but does have at least one hit in nine of his last 10 and owns Royals pitching to the tune of .400/.425/.686 with four homers, 10 RBI and 15 runs scored. The Indians have been brimming with stack potential all weekend, and today looks great for them to anchor the 8/25 Hitting and Stacks with Lindor leading the way.

8/25 DFS Hitting Third Baseman

Alex Bregman, HOU vs. LAA

DK ($5,200), FD ($4,200)

With six hits in his last 11 at-bats, Bregman is a solid choice here and a potential anchor of an Astros stack. Bregman has three homers and nine RBI over the past week and his .405/.500/.824 August that includes six homers, 26 RBI and 20 runs scored has put him strongly in the AL MVP conversation. His 44.9% fly ball rate blends well with his 44.2% hard contact rate, while his 18.5% HR/FB rate continues to take a sneaky climb.

8/25 DFS Hitting Outfielder

Willie Calhoun, TEX vs. CWS

DK ($4,900), FD ($3,800)

Oh, why not? Saturday’s homer was his second straight game with a dinger and his fourth this week. Calhoun has eight homers this month while continuing his road-dominant trend (.946 OPS). He’ll face Reynaldo Lopez, who appears to have reacquired the home run bug after going three straight starts without giving one up. Lopez allowed a pair in his start against the Twins on Tuesday, shooting his HR/9 up to 1.65. That, plus his 44.9% fly ball rate, makes Lopez a potential mark for Calhoun to exploit today.

8/25 DFS Hitting Outfielder

Juan Soto, WAS at CHC

DK ($5,100), FD ($4,000)

Soto has picked apart Cubs pitching the way Clubber Lang picked apart Rocky Balboa in their first match in Rocky III (“Come on, Balboa! Make me wait!!). He’s gone .421/.522/.737 with a 1.259 OPS that’s produced a homer, five RBI and eight runs scored in just 19 at-bats this season. Soto has a 1.083 OPS this month with nine homers, so there’s no reason to fear using him against Cole Hamels. No one has done much to stop the Nationals’ offense of late, and I don’t see where Hamels neutralizes them today.

8/25 DFS Hitting Outfielder

Aaron Judge, NYY at LAD

DK ($7,200), FD ($3,800)

Consider this my move off the top rope: either this finishes the match or the momentum swings. Judge has never faced Clayton Kershaw, but Clayton Kershaw has never faced Judge, who has homered in each of the first two games of the series. Judge has three homers this week after entering it with just one dinger this month. For all of his Hall of Fame potential, Kershaw should know that Judge has an 1.121 OPS versus lefties this season and can be a beast with the lights on (.929 OPS at night). This matchup alone makes Sunday Night Baseball must-watch.

8/25 DFS Hitting Stacks

8/25 Hitting Stack of the Day: Cleveland Indians: As mentioned earlier, I’d start a stack with Lindor and plug in Franmil Reyes (a cheap $2,500 at FanDuel) along with Carlos Santana ($5,400 at DraftKings) and perhaps Yasiel Puig ($4,400 DK).

8/25 Hitting Stack Runner-Up: Houston Astros: As usual, they’re pricey, so you can’t load up in a big way. Altuve or Bregman are good anchors along with Yordan Alvarez ($5,500 DK). You should be able to find a low-end bat like Josh Reddick ($2,400 FD) or Martin Maldonado ($3,000 DK).

8/25 Hitting Stack to Consider: St. Louis Cardinals: The Rockies are throwing Antonio Senzatela and his 6.29 ERA. I like Paul Goldschmidt ($4,200 DK) at the anchor that includes Tommy Edman ($4,200 DK), Dexter Fowler ($3,200 FD) and Marcell Ozuna ($5,000 DK).

Catcher is undoubtedly the weakest position in fantasy baseball but Grandal always softens the blow with his impressive power. While he’s been struggling recently, he’s still on pace to set career-highs in AVG, SLG and OPS. A .377 OBP and .848 OPS shows just how special this guy can be, as he’s actually been much better batting from the left side. Since last season, Grandal has an .361 OBP and .842 OPS against righties and gets a superb matchup against Adam Wainwright here. The St. Louis right-hander is currently allowing left-handed bats to post a .383 OBP, .502 SLG and .368 wOBA against him this season, which is horrifying against guys like Grandal, Eric Thames, Mike Moustakas and Christian Yelich.

8/21 DFS Hitting First Baseman

Jesus Aguilar, TB vs. SEA

DK ($3,600) FD ($2,800)

It’s unclear who will start at first base for the Rays but we like either Aguilar or Choi at their dirt-cheap price tags. We’ll go with Aguilar, since he’s the cheaper option. Since joining the Rays at the trade deadline, he’s been batting in the heart of this order and it’s easy to see why when looking at these numbers. Over his last 34 games, Aguilar is hitting .315 while providing a .379 OBP, .494 SLG and .864 OPS. That’s huge considering he gets the platoon advantage against Wade LeBlanc, who’s allowed 19 runs over his last four appearances.

8/21 DFS Hitting Second Baseman

Hanser Alberto, BAL vs. KC

DK ($3,900) FD ($2,900)

Alberto is always a favorite of mine against left-handers and it’s crazy just how low his price is being kept at on these sites. He’s done nothing but rake when facing lefties and that’s why the Orioles bat him leadoff in these circumstances. That’s no surprise when you see his .407 AVG, .533 SLG and .954 OPS with the platoon advantage in his favor. Those are bonkers numbers and it’s even more enticing when you see Mike Montgomery’s 4.63 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. Alberto happens to be rolling right now too, hitting .354 over his last 18 games en route to a .970 OPS.

8/21 DFS Hitting Third Baseman

Alex Bregman, HOU vs. DET

DK ($5,200) FD ($4,500)

This might be my favorite play on the board. I know that the Astros are my favorite stack and Bregman should be at the heart of that damage. The reason for that is because they face Daniel Norris, who’s pitching to a 4.82 ERA and 1.41 WHIP from the left side. That’s truly scary against all of these potent righties, particularly Bregman. Over his last 15 games, Bregman has a .422 AVG, .522 OBP, .857 SLG and 1.380 OPS. Those are literally video game numbers and it doesn’t even take into consideration that Bregman has a .661 SLG and 1.068 OPS against left-handers this year. Don’t fade the Astros and don’t fade Bregman!

8/21 DFS Hitting Shortstop

Corey Seager, LAD vs. TOR

DK ($4,200) FD ($3,400)

Seager has quietly been turning things around since the All-Star break and it’s about time that he starts living up to expectations. Over his last 13 games, Seager has collected nine doubles and three homers en route to a .630 SLG and .953 OPS. That stellar form. paired with this matchup, makes him one of the best values on the board. Not only does Seager have a .521 SLG and .875 OPS against right-handers this season, he also gets to face Jacob Waguespack and his 5.06 xFIP and 1.31 WHIP.

8/21 DFS Hitting Outfielders

Juan Soto, WSH at PIT

DK ($5,400) FD ($4,100)

Now that we got a bunch of the value bats out of the way, let’s get you some stud outfielders. Soto actually found himself into my article on Monday and we have to keep rolling with him the way he’s hitting. Over his last 19 games, Soto has collected 11 homers, 19 runs scored, 19 RBI and five steals en route to a .438 OVP, .824 SLG and 1.264 OPS. Those are absurd numbers and it’s truly amazing that this kid is only 20 years-old. We really like that he gets the platoon advantage against Joe Musgrove too, who’s got a 4.59 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, allowing 20 runs over his last five starts.

J.D. Martinez, BOS vs. PHI

DK ($5,100) FD ($4,200)

Much like Soto, J.D. is absolutely scorching right now. Over his last 43 games, Martinez is hitting .349 while generating a .416 OBP, .623 SLG and 1.039 OPS. That’s the dude that we’ve been waiting for all season long and he’s done a good amount of that damage against lefties. In fact, Martinez has a .477 OBP, .848 SLG and 1.325 OPS with the platoon advantage in his favor this season. That’s got to be scary for Drew Smyly, who’s got an ugly 7.09 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. Don’t forget about Mookie Betts either, with Boston and Houston being the premier stacks of the day.

Khris Davis, OAK vs. NYY

DK ($3,200) FD ($2,500)

This is a total punt play but Davis has a lot of power potential to be priced this cheaply. He’s in such a bad slump that he’s being priced around guys who are in the minors, but we will take the risk here. While he’s earned every bit of that price tag, he’s still among the league leaders in home runs dating back to 2016. He also has an ISO north of .250 in that span and he can swat two dingers on any given night. This matchup is more inducive to do just that, as he gets the platoon advantage against J.A. Happ and his 5.40 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. So far this year, Davis has an OPS north of .800 against southpaws, which is nearly 200 points higher than his OPS against righties.

Montgomery has a 1.00 ERA and 1,06 WHIP over his last three starts while striking out 22 batters across 18 innings of action. That great form and elite K rate should fare well against an offense that ranks 26th in runs scored, 27th in OBP, 25th in OPS, 21st in K rate and 28th in wOBA.

Mookie Betts/J.D. Martinez/Corey Dickers Over 14.5 Fantasy Points

All of these guys found themselves into my write-up and I fully expect all three to perform in such a superb matchup.

Jose Altuve/Goerge Springer/Alex Bregman Over 6.5 Total Bases

All of these righties get to face Daniel Norris with an implied run total north of six. Look for these three to fo the majority of the damage.

Your preferred MLB DFS Hitting Picks for Tuesday

Catcher

Tyler Flowers, Royals at Braves ($2,400 FD, $3,700 DK): Part of my MLB DFS Hitting Braves stack, Flowers loves to see mediocre lefties on the mound. Well guess who he sees tonight? Danny Duffy.

First Base

Matt Adams, Rockies at Nationals ($2,600 FD, $4,100 DK): Even though the Rockies pitching staff got the benefit of an unplanned day of rest after yesterday’s rainout, Adams and the rest of the Colorado bats are still in a great MLB DFS Hitting spot. Over the past four weeks, Colorado is near the bottom of every major pitching category, even away from Coors. Peter Lambert has struggled to begin his MLB career and tonight will likely not be any different.

Second Base

Luis Urias, Padres at Mets ($2,400 FD, $3,000 DK): These type of choices allow for MLB DFS Hitting savings and the opportunity to use whatever pitcher you like tonight. Urias is part of the Padres plan to go with youth and Manny Machado the rest of this season and the foreseeable future. And the Padres current second base situation with Ian Kinsler and others has been plain bad offensively. Make sure Urias is in the lineup and pencil this righty in against lefty Jason Vargas.

Third Base

Josh Donaldson, Royals at Braves ($3,900 FD, $4,900 DK): This guy is seeing beachballs at the plate right now and the former MVP gets a mediocre lefty in Danny Duffy. Donaldson has homered in five of his last 11 games. A MLB DFS Hitting lock.

Shortstop

Trea Turner, Rockies at Nationals ($4,000 FD, $4,700 DK): Part of my Nationals stack, he will be in the leadoff spot and will try to get on base and cause chaos in front of some big Nationals bats against the weak Rockies staff.

Outfielders

Juan Soto, Rockies at Nationals ($3,900 FD, $4,600 DK), Adam Eaton ($2,800 FD, $3,900 DK) and Ronald Acuna Jr., Royals at Braves ($4,400 FD, $5,700 DK): Completing my Nationals and Braves stacks, we have two of the best young players in the game and a second “leadoff” hitter in Eaton for MLB DFS Hitting purposes.

DFS Stack Choices for 7/5: Climbing on Soto

Your prime DFS stack choices for the Friday slate.

1.) Boston Red Sox Stack

Gregory Soto is the worst pitcher on this slate and he gets a powerhouse offense in the Boston Red Sox. He has a .390 BAA, eight home runs given up and a 11.51 ERA at home this season. The usual Boston stack suspects are who I want, Betts and Martinez. I don’t mind Devers since Carpenter has been horrible against lefties. I also love Benintendi in this one as I see a nice multi-hit game coming out of him.

2.) Washington Nationals Stack

Brad Keller started off this season very strong and then something clicked and he turned into who he really is, a trash can. On this road this season he holds a 5.08 ERA and a .281 BAA. He also has a sub seven K/9 so a lot of balls are being kept in play. He is equally horrible to both sides, but he does walk lefties more than righties. That gives me more love for Adam Eaton as that ups his potential for stolen bases. Pair him with Juan Soto, Anthony Rendon and Trea Turner in this stack.

3.) Minnesota Twins Stack

Surprisingly Adrian Sampson has been really good in Texas and HORRIBLE away from Texas. Away from Texas he holds a 6.47 ERA and a .306 BAA and .604 SLG. Sampson has also been reverse splits this season, so I love Nelson Cruz for a deep ball in this one. I also don’t mind Eddie Rosario, Jorge Polanco and my all time favorite Twins stack tournament play, Max Kepler.

4.) Houston Astros Stack

I’m not sure who the opening pitcher is going to be here, but we do know that Felix Pena is going to follow. Pena has been especially worse against left-handed bats this season (.281 BAA, right home runs given up). I’m especially looking at Yordan Alvarez and Michael Brantley in this stack. Obviously you can round out this stack with Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve.

DFS Hitting Stacks for July 3rd: Subway Slammers

Wednesday’s MLB actionincludes some big-time offenses in great spots for DFS purposes. So below wehave four stacks to target as you assemble your Daily Fantasy Sports entries.

New York Yankees

The New York Mets will be starting Jason Vargas on the bump in this one. Vargas is a guy that the Yankees should be able to get to. The right-hander has a 5.05 SIERA and a 5.09 xFIP while striking out just 20% of the batters he has faced in 2019. We will want to get some exposure in our DFS lineups.

So of course, we want to load up on some Yankees in our DFS lineups and our New York stack will start with Gary Sanchez (FanDuel: $4,200 DraftKings: $4,700). Sanchez has an ISO north of .300 versus left-handed pitching. Some other Yankee’s bats worth considering are: Edwin Encarnacion (FanDuel: $4,100 DraftKings: $4,300) and Gleyber Torres (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,600). Both have ISOs above .200 versus righties in 2019. And do not forget about Aaron Judge (FanDuel: $4,500 DraftKings: $4,800) and D.J. LeMahieu (FanDuel: $4,500 DraftKings: $5,200). Both of these Yankees have wOBAs greater than .400 against lefties in 2019.

Houston Astros

With the Astros having already hit 98 home runs against right-handed pitching this season, it is safe to say they have a really good chance of tacking a few more onto that total in this one. Not only are they playing in Coors Field, but the Rockies’ Peter Lambert is allowing 2.55 HR/9. Load up on the Astros in your DFS entries.

Lambert has really struggled at home this season. He is allowing a .478 wOBA and a 46% hard contact rate in Colorado in 2019. So feel free to stack any combination of Astros. But you will want to pay particular attention to the lefty bats in the Houston lineup. Lambert is allowing a .440/.444/1.040 slash line to lefties at home this season. With that in mind, we will want to start our DFS Astros’ build with Yordan Alvarez (FanDuel: $4,400 DraftKings: $5,500), if he is healthy enough to get back in the lineup. The Houston slugger has a .400 ISO and a .424 wOBA against righties this season.

Colorado Rockies

Any time the Rockies’ offense is opposed by a lefty, they have to be considered for DFS stacking purposes. Against left-handed pitching this season, Colorado has been very successful. As a team, they have a .200 ISO and a .340 wOBA against left-handed pitching. And when they get to face a left-hander in the thin air of Colorado they are a no-brainer DFS stacking option.

So, your Colorado DFS building blocks should include the likes of: Ian Desmond (FanDuel: $3,300 DraftKings: $4,500), Nolan Arenado (FanDuel: $4,600 DraftKings: $5,300), Charlie Blackmon (FanDuel: $4,500 DraftKings: $5,800) and David Dahl (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $5,200). All four of these Rockies’ batters have accumulated at least a .230 ISO versus left-handed pitching.

Boston Red Sox

You are going to want to pick on Toronto’s Sean Reid-Foley in your DFS lineups on Wednesday. Reid-has a 5.75 SIERA and a 6.46 xFIP as well as a low 9.9% swing strike rate. The Blue Jays’ starter is not missing many bats.

We want to build our Boston’ DFS stack starting with the usual suspects: Mookie Betts (FanDuel: $4,100 DraftKings: $4,400), Rafael Devers (FanDuel: $4,100 DraftKings: $4,700) and Xander Bogaerts (FanDuel: $4,200 DraftKings: $4,600). These three batters have ISOs greater than .200 against right-handed pitching.

Washington Nationals

In 65 career at-bats against the Marlins’ Sandy Alcantara, the Nationals’ current roster has a .369/.431/.706 slash line. In particular Anthony Rendon (FanDuel: $4,400 DraftKings: $5,500) and Juan Soto (FanDuel: $4,200 DraftKings: $5,000) have been excellent against the Miami starter. Combined, the players are 9-for-23 with three home runs and eight RBIs against Alcantara and are excellent DFS building blocks for Wednesday.

Hitting and MLB Prop Picks for 6/10: Bronx Bombing

Catcher

Gary Sanchez, NYY vs. NYM

DK ($5,100) FD ($4,200)

I literally looked at the catching selections for about one whole second, as this was one of the easiest recommendations of the season. Sanchez’ season-long numbers are just ridiculous, with the slugging catcher hitting 19 dingers this season en route to a .959 OPS. Those numbers are nice but his peripherals are simply amazing. In fact, Sanchez is one of the league leaders with a .433 xwOBA, .700 xSLG and .364 ISO. That simply means he’s hitting the crap out of the ball and we love him against Jason Vargas. Since 2017, Sanchez is posting a .522 SLG and .865 OPS against southpaws and gets to face a pitcher who is posting a 5.00 xFIP and 1.35 WHIP in a hitter’s haven like Yankee Stadium.

First Base

Luke Voit

DK ($4,400) FD ($4,200)

Let’s keep the Yankees rolling with their powerful first baseman. Voit’s numbers since joining the Bronx Bombers are simply bonkers, with the first baseman posting a .947 OPS and .563 SLG in that span. That’s backed up by an xwOBA north of .400 and he’s simply developed into one of the best bats in the American League. Those numbers would put him in consideration against anyone, especially a lefty gas can like Vargas. Voit is providing a .933 OPS against southpaws since the beginning of 2017.

Second Base

Cesar Hernandez, PHI vs. ARI

DK ($3,600) FD ($2,800)

With Andrew McCutchen out for the year, Hernandez’s value has risen exponentially because of his move to the leadoff spot. While he hasn’t had any big games since moving up, the fact that he’s averaging nearly five at-bats a game in that role alone makes him an attractive option. We’re talking about a guy with a .277 average and .776 OPS. That’s all you can ask for from someone so cheap and it doesn’t even take into consideration that he’ll be batting atop a lineup projected for more than five runs. The reason for that total is because Philly is squaring off with Taylor Clarke, who posted a 7.22 ERA and 1.60 WHIP at Triple-A this season. We also love that Hernandez gets to face a righty, with the lefty second baseman posting an .842 OPS against right-handers so far this season.

Third Base

Matt Carpenter, STL at MIA

DK ($4,000) FD ($3,400)

While Carpenter has struggled the first two months of the season, this price is simply too cheap for someone of his ability. We’re talking about a perennial All-Star candidate who bats atop one of the best lineups in baseball. In his career, Carpenter is posting a .386 OBP and .866 OPS against right-handed pitching. That’s monster production from a player in this price range and recent results would indicate that he’s climbing out of his slump. Over his last 18 games, Carpenter is hitting .279 while providing an .894 OPS.

Shortstop

Gleyber Torres, NYY vs. NYM

DK ($4,300) FD ($3,400)

Let’s finish off our Yankees stack with their slugging shortstop. The aforementioned Vargas numbers put all of these Yankees in play, as their projected run total is easily one of the highest on the slate. Torres is a major reason why, as he’s got a .521 SLG and .842 OPS against lefties since his call-up last year. That’s nearly identical to his season-long numbers and it’s hard to understand why he’s in the $4,000-range. Stacking Yankees is easily one of the best strategies on this slate and it’s actually reasonably affordable with Torres and Voit at such nice bargains.

Outfield

Juan Soto, WSH at CWS

DK ($5,100) FD ($3,900)

Not many people realize this but Soto is arguably the hottest hitter in the league right now. Over his last 21 games, Soto is hitting .385 while providing a .462 OBP and 1.128 OPS. That’s obviously absurd and it’s pretty much the guy we’ve seen since his call-up last season. Getting the platoon advantage in the icing on the cake, with the Washington outfielder posting a .415 OBP and .936 OPS against righties for his career. Journeyman,Odrisamer Despaigne is not a guy we need to fear either, as his 5.54 ERA and 1.49 WHIP since the beginning of 2015 shows why he was in the minors.

Corey Dickerson, PIT at ATL

DK ($3,900) FD ($3,000)

Many people are forgetting about Dickerson because he just came off the IL but this guy has made a name for himself by destroying righties. In his career, Dickerson is posting a .526 SLG and .836 OPS against right-handed pitching. Getting that sort of production from a player this cheap is extremely rare, especially in such a premium matchup. Over his last two starts, Gausman has allowed 15 runs and 20 hits, which has skyrocketed his ERA to 6.15. Dickerson pairs beautifully with Gregory Polanco, as these guys make a sneaky two-man stack against the struggling Gausman.

Eloy Jimenez, CWS vs. WSH

DK ($3,100) FD ($2,800)

Jimenez is one of the highest touted prospects in the Majors and that makes this price simply ridiculous. We’re talking about a guy who provided historical numbers at the minor league level, with Jimenez posting a .326/.382/.573 slash line since 2017. That equates to an OPS just shy of 1.000 and an ISO in the .250 range. Those are elite statistics and it’s just a matter of time before we see that sort of ability at the Major League level. Recent results are really promising too, with Jimenez entering this game in the midst of a six-game hitting streak while going yard in back-to-back games. That sort of power potential is particularly intriguing against Anibal Sanchez, who ranks in the Top-3 in dingers allowed since 2015.

Gary Sanchez/Gleyber Torres/ Luke Voit Over 0.5 Home Runs

I’m 8-3 over my last 11 MFK picks, so if you’re not taking these recommendations, I don’t know what you’re thinking. I’ve actually yet to pick a home run parade prop as of yet but I absolutely love this pick today. There’s really not much explanation needed because I wrote up all of these guys but I’d genuinely be surprised if none of them hit a homer. The main reason for that is because they all get the platoon advantage against Jason Vargas, who’s posting a 5.05 ERA and 1.39 WHIP since the beginning of last season, which is miraculously lower than his xFIP. That’s why the Yankees are projected for nearly six runs, hitting in a little league park like Yankee Stadium.
