WE MADE IT! Fight Island is here; it is a real thing, and not a myth. Since the beginning of the world pandemic, Uncle Dana has been promising us all fight after fight and show after show, even if it meant he had to buy an Island to do so… Well, here it is. On Saturday, July, 11,2020, 6 pm eastern standard time, we are all welcomed to UFC FIGHT ISLAND, Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates, where each fighter on this THIRTEEN fight, fight card has been individually flown. I feel like a kid in a candy store that is excited to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for the first-ever fight card on UFC Fight Island. Let’s get started and get ready to make some money together!

Win Daily Sports is committed to bringing its members and subscribers fresh content daily for as long as the professional sports leagues remain on hiatus. MY MMA VALUE TARGET:

Jessica Andrade (+175) (DK 7200) (FD $13) vs. Rose Namajunas (-225) (DK 900) (FD $17).

Jessica has a UFC record of twelve wins and five losses. She is an absolute killer inside of the octagon. The power behind every punch that she throws is second to no one at her respective weight class. Andrade has the ability to knock any opponent in her weight division out with just one punch. At 115 pounds, it is very rare to find anyone with that type of power and strength. She will take every shot thrown her way, eat them, return overwhelming punches, and force her opponent to start to quit.

Namajunas has seen Andrade in action, up close, and personal. She lost the last fight vs. Andrade via TKO in the second round. Rose has six wins and five losses in her UFC career. She is a very technical kickboxer but learned in her last fight vs. Andrade, you have to have more than just technical kicks to beat her. I see this fight turning into an almost identical performance, and Jessica Andrade coming out on top. She is my favorite value play of the day and a staple in the majority of my MMA DFS lineups. Even though I will have Andrade in 50-60% of my lineups, I will still have one or two lineups with Namajunas for hedging purposes only.

MY MMA DFS PICK: Jessica Andrade (+175) (DK 7200) (FD $13) THIRD ROUND TKO.

MY MMA LOCKED IN TARGET:

Petrn Yan (-230) (DK 9300) (FD $19) vs. Jose Aldo (+180) (DK 6900) (FD $14).

Jose Aldo is no longer in his prime. He does not have the strength, power, cardio, or consistency to keep it up on a high level anymore. He is coming off of back to back losses, and for some reason, Dana White felt like it would be a good idea to have the number three contender in the world fight someone who is not even close to his level.

The number three contender is Petr Yan. Yan is an absolute force in the UFC. He has slaughtered many opponents on his path to the title, only being defeated once in his career. Fortunately for him, Henry Cejudo retired and left a championship belt with no owner. Yan is going to come out and obliterate Aldo in this fight. Petr is better on almost every level. DO NOT expect Aldo to stand up for too long, as I believe this will end in a third-round TKO.

MY UFC PICK: Petrn Yan (-230) (DK 9300) (FD $19) THIRD ROUND TKO.

MY MMA TOP SCORING TARGET:

Kamaru Usman (-250) (DK 8900) (FD $22) vs. Jorge Masvidal (+195) (DK 7300) (FD $18).

What more can I say, other than that Usman is an absolute freak of nature. He will rip apart anyone that steps into his octagon. Usman is like a well-oiled machine, consistently performing at a high level over and over again. Kamaru’s original opponent was Gilbert Burns. Burns is the number one contender in the world and would of most definitely given Usman more than he could handle.

Unfortunetly for Burns, he tested positive in his COVID test results, and he is now watching the fight from home, speaking of watching the fight from home. Masvidal had no clue that he would be fighting for the championship belt a week ago. I do not think Masvidal had enough time to prepare. Preparing for a regular fight is different than preparing for a title fight. It just is. Jorge is an excellent fighter, but in my opinion, he needs a lot more time to prepare for the champion. I think Usman will level out Masvidal in the fourth round of this fight and will produce upwards of 150 Fantasy points.

MY UFC PICK: Kamaru Usman (-250) (DK 8900) (FD $22) FOURTH ROUND TKO.

MMA HONORABLE MENTION:

Amanda Ribas (-850) (DK 9200) (FD $20)

Jiri Prochazka (+130) (DK 7800) (FD $15)

Leonardo Santos (-175) (DK 8800) (FD $19)

Maxim Grishin (-115) (DK 8100) (FD $16)

SUMMARY:

On Saturday’s 13 bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 10 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the three targets listed in my article to be a part of about 75 percent of my lineups. Always remember the more rounds in a fight, the higher the fantasy score could be. Try to focus on the three five-round title fights (five-rounds instead of three). This slate is very tough to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close in skillset. I will use a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP winning lineup.

I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my core (fighters above) to be a staple in my DFS lineups, and I will build around them with the available salary. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat or you can find me on Twitter @JThomsonDFS. GOOD LUCK and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!

UFC FIGHT NIGHT: SASKATOON.

Welcome back for another breakdown of an action-packed MMA DFS slate at WinDaily Sports. I’m going to be offering my COMBAT CORE FOUR. The four fighters listed below will be listed in order of priority starting from four to my NUMBER ONE pick of this MMA DFS slate. Tonight I am using Draftkings salaries but, my picks are suited for FanDuel and SuperDraft as well. I am going to be breaking down a few fights taking place at the APEX Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada tonight. This article is my universal MMA DFS picks and targets for Draftkings and Fanduel. I will be using my picks in most of my Daily Fantasy lineups and my top money line bets. The fight by fight breakdown can be found in our DISCORD chat. Check out our UFC DraftKings Projections, too!

COMBAT CORE PICK #4:

Mariya Agapova (-335) (8700) vs. Hannah Cifers (+270) (7500).
DraftKings | FanDuel

Agapova has a professional record of 8W-1L and is making her UFC debut. She is primarily a striker. If Agapova gets going, Cifers is not going to believe what hit her. She is way more than Cifers bargained for; her constant unorthodox movement, the ability to switch up her stance extremely fast, and her hand speed, Hannah is in for a rough night. In my opinion, Mariya is more than Cifers can handle at the moment. Hannah has a history of being finished, and she is facing off against someone who has a “never give up” mentality. Cifers might make it out of the first round if she is smart about her striking and maximizes her grappling opportunities but, I do not see that happening for an extended period of time, definitely not the entire fight. I think Mariya Agapova wins this fight via second-round TKO.

MY MMA DFS PICK: Mariya Agapova (-335) (8700) TKO ROUND TWO.

COMBAT CORE PICK #3:

Tyson Nam (-125) (8000) vs. Zarrukh Adashev (+110) (7700).
DraftKings | FanDuel

Nam is winless in his first two fights in the UFC. He has been completely outclassed in both of his career UFC fights. The problem that Nam has is that he does not throw enough strikes. He is very dull in the octagon. His strategy has been to literally stand there while his opponent throws strike after strike and attempts takedown after takedown until he feels that he has found a weakness and has figured out his opponent. That strategy would be perfect if he were at home watching the fight on the television but definitely not while he’s actually in the octagon with an opponent in front of him.

Nam does not know when to throw certain kicks or punches. It looks like he’s out there just hoping to get lucky and hoping his opponent just falls without contact but, we all know, that’s now how fights work. His opponent is Zarrukh Adashev. Adashev is not the most aggressive fighter, but as soon as he noticed a few missteps in his previous opponents, he released everything that he had into the next few strikes. I believe Adashev is going to make his UFC debut a very memorable one, with a third-round TKO.

MY MMA DFS PICK: Zarrukh Adashev (+110) (770) TKO ROUND TWO. (This is one of my money line bets I will be placing)

COMBAT CORE PICK #2:

Julia Avila (-635) (9300) vs. Gina Mazany (+450) (6900).
DraftKings | FanDuel

Avila won her UFC debut. She showed how amazing she could perform. Avila came out and looked very well rounded. Julia is fresh, more confident, stronger, and an overall better fighter than Mazany, in my opinion. Mazany has been through the wringer, and I believe she is currently on the decline in her career. This matchup does not look good for Gina. Avila has devastating knockout power, and if that doesn’t work, she can take it to the mat and force a submission relatively fast. I do not see a route where Gina Mazany comes out victorious here. Julia Avila should demolish her and should be able to do it quickly.

MY MMA DFS PICK: Julia Avila (-635) (9300) ROUND ONE TKO.

COMBAT CORE PICK #1:

Merab Dvalishvili (-750) (9200) vs. Gustavo Lopez (+510) (6800).
DraftKings | FanDuel

This is my favorite pick of the night. I NEVER go ALL-IN on any one fighter in my MMA DFS picks because anything can happen in the UFC. This is as close as an all-in that I have been in the previous five MMA DFS slates. Merab was initially scheduled to fight Ray Borg but, due to family medical issues, Borg withdrew from the contest.

The replacement for Borg is Gustavo Lopez. Lopez is a decent fighter who was fighting in Combate America (CA) until literally two days ago. Gustavo is a two-time Bantamweight champion in the CA, on a three-fight win streak, has six first-round finishes, four submission wins, and six KO/TKO wins. There are a few issues I have with picking him in this fight. One issue is that he had to cut weight in less than 24 hours, and another issue I have is, all of his stats DID NOT happen in the UFC. Yes, he has looked good in the CA but, the UFC is an entirely different animal with elite competition.

Unfortunately, for him, he is facing Merab Dvalishvili, who is also on a three-fight win streak and his winning streak DID happen in the UFC. Merab is a relentless, scrambling, dominant wrestler, that when he is not grappling, he is an absolute madman in the octagon. He has a wide variety of crazy, wild, hard kicks and punches.

He is one of the most unpredictable fighters that I have ever seen. On top of everything else, he is ridiculously strong too. I think Dvalishvili catches Lopez really fast, and this fight ends early in the first round.

MY MMA DFS PICK: Merab Dvalishvili (-750) (9200) ROUND ONE TKO.

HONORABLE MENTION:

Andre Fili (-240) (8600)

Jordan Espinosa (-175) (8500)

Kevin Aguilar (-185) (8400)

SUMMARY:

On tonight’s 10 bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 10 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the winners I chose for each fight. I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my picks to build my MMA DFS lineups, and I will build around them with the available salary. SUMMARY:

On tonight’s 12 bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 10 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the winners I chose for each fight. This slate is very tough to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close in skillset. I will use a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP winning lineup. I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my picks to build my DFS lineups, and I will build around them with the available salary. Remember, to take down a UFC DFS GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!

UFC MMA Fight Night is one of the few sporting events scheduled to continue this weekend amid the global coronavirus outbreak. The 11-bout event expected to start at 6 p.m. ET at the APEX Arena, Las Vegas, in an empty arena due to the pandemic sweeping the world. Only necessary individuals will be allowed in the building. This fight card is highlighted by the main event of Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns. This article is my top three universal targets of Draftkings, Fanduel, and SuperDraft. I will be using in most of my Daily Fantasy lineups and my top money line bets. The fight by fight breakdown can be found in our DISCORD chat.

Win Daily Sports is committed to bringing its members and subscribers fresh content daily for as long as the professional sports leagues remain on hiatus. #1 TARGET: DANIEL RODRIGUEZ (11-1) (-335) (DK 7500) (FD $13) (SD 1.3X) VS. GABE GREEN (0-0) (+255) (DK 6800) (FD $12) (SD 1.75X).

This fight has my number one overall fighter. Daniel Rodriguez was originally scheduled to be an underdog to powerhouse Kevin Holland until an unexpected shoulder injury halted Holland in his tracks, possibly due to a quick turnaround after a fight only two weeks ago. Instead of Holland, we now have Gabe Green, who stepped in at short notice to fill the void left behind. Unfortunately for Green, he’s staged to battle it out with Rodriguez, who has six stoppages out of his eleven wins as a pro. In Rodriguez’s most recent fight, he looked impressive, to say the least, and finalized his performance with a nasty 2nd round submission using a guillotine choke. If Daniel can move just as good in this fight vs. Green, I see no reason why he can not tack on another stoppage to his belt. The way for Rodriguez to take this fight quickly is by quick counter punches and slowing Green down. Green has the power to knock out the best of them in a single blow, but I do not see that happening here. I see this fight ending rather quickly with a first-round KO.

MY UFC PICK: DANIEL RODRIGUEZ. FIRST ROUND TKO.

#2 TARGET: BILLY QUARANTILLO (13-2) (-360) (DK 8600) (FD $18) (SD 1.25X) VS. SPIKE CARLYLE (9-1) (+110) (DK 7600) (FD $14) (SD 1.55X).

This fight very well might have the hidden gem needed to take down a GPP. In my opinion, the winning UFC DFS lineup will have to have one of these fighters. This bout between Quarantillo and Carlyle is the highest anticipated fight on the card for myself. This is going to be an all-out battle and slugfest. Spike and Billy both have the power to knock out each other with a single shot. There’s one big reason why I am going all-in on Billy Q, and that is his cardio. We all know that throwing a lot of punches and dodging a lot of shots takes A LOT of energy. In Carlyle’s career, he has had plenty of finishes, but almost every time, it looks like he’s starting to slow down and get flat-footed. If he starts to slow at any point, Billy will pick up on that and exploit it. Quarantillo is a cardio machine. His fighting style is continuously moving forward, looking for openings, and continuous strikes on his opponents. I can easily see Billy weathering the storm of Carlyle until he tires himself out, sneaking in a few hard shots, and finishing him in the third round.

MY UFC PICK: BILLY QUARANTILLO. THIRD ROUND TKO.

#3 TARGET: JAMAHAL HILL (7-0) (-130) (DK 8400) (FD $17) (SD 1.3X) VS. KLIDSON ABREU (15-4) (EVEN) (DK 7800) (FD $15) (SD 1.5X).

Hill is on a nice heater. He has seven wins and no losses as a pro fighter. In Hill’s UFC debut fight, he was taken down six times, which is a lot for a single fight. The big thing im leaning on here is how many strikes Hill can land. In his fight vs. Stosic, he dismantled him, landing 101 significant strikes on his way to a very nice decision win. Jamahal has pretty good blocking and can potentially hold off Abreu’s takedown attempts due to the fact that Abreu is not as fast as Stosic. If Hill can pinpoint his strikes during the takedown and kick attempts of Abreu, he should have no problem taking all three rounds, if not end it with a late third-round stoppage.

MY UFC PICK: JAMAHAL HILL DEC OR LATE THIRD ROUND TKO.

HONORABLE MENTION:

ROOSEVELT ROBERTS (9-1) (-360) (DK 9200) (FD $21) (SD 1.05X)

TYRON WOODLEY (19-4) (-175) (DK 8800) (FD 22) (SD 1.25X)

KATLYN CHOOKAGIAN (13-3) (+115) (DK 7700) (FD $13) (SD 1.5X).

SUMMARY:

This article is my top three targets that I will be using in most of my Daily Fantasy lineups and my top money line bets. The fight by fight breakdown can be found in our DISCORD chat.

#1 TARGET: ALISTAIR OVEREEM (45-18) (+115) (7500) VS. WALT HARRIS (13-7) (-145) (8700).

This fight not only holds my favorite fighter of the fight card, but it also holds the much anticipated main event. Coming in at six feet four inches tall, with an 80-inch reach, is Alistair Overeem. Overeem will be competing in his 64th career MMA fight. Over the years, Overeem has taken out many top tier opponents, but with a cost. Alistair has taken more damage to the body and chin than any fighter I have ever seen in my life. He is getting older (39 years old) and can not take the beating that he used to take. On the other side of the octagon is a man on a warpath. Walt Harris is the definition of an athletic big man. He not only has massive power behind every blow, but he is extremely fast too. Walt’s power and speed will be too much for Overeem to handle. The only opportunity Alistair has is to tire out Harris by ducking and dodging every hard, precise, and fast punch he throws at him. In this particular fight, Harris is fighting with a heavy heart and many emotions, im sure. This will be one fight that Overeem will not be able to sneak out with. Unfortunately for him, tonight, he is going to be Walt Harris’s punching bag. I can see Harris blowing the doors off of Overeem and ending this bout in the first round.

MY UFC PICK: WALT HARRIS. FIRST ROUND TKO.

#2 TARGET: MATT BROWN (24-16) (+135) (7200) VS. MIGUEL BAEZA (8-0) (-150) (9000).

We have a matchup between the old school and the new school, the old man versus the young gun, the Atari versus the PlayStation 4, Brown versus Baeza. Brown is coming into this fight as a veteran of the UFC. He probably shouldn’t even be fighting anymore. The amount of damage he has taken over his career is mind-blowing. He is entering his 26th fight in the UFC at 39 years old and facing off against the future phenom in Miguel Baeza. Training out of MMA Masters, Baeza is 27 years old and won his debut fight in the UFC. In his debut, he looked absolutely amazing against Hector Aldana. Miguel came out and dismantled Aldana. His technique, power, low kicks we’re flawless and extremely damaging. I expect Baeza to use the same technique, strength, explosiveness, to take Brown out fast, early, and have him contemplating retirement. I predict Baeza knocks Brown out in the first round of the fight.

MY UFC PICK: MIGUEL BAEZA. FIRST ROUND TKO.

#3 TARGET: DON’TALE MAYES (7-3) (-110) (8400) VS. RODRIGO NASCIMENTO (0-0) (-120) (7800).

Mayes might have lost his debut fight in the UFC, but im going to say that was debut jitters. Makes is primarily a striker with insane power in his hands. Although he lost that fight, I noticed a significant improvement to his cardio and stamina. Nascimento is no chump. He has seven wins and no losses as a pro fighter. The difference is, those fights we’re not in the UFC. Rodrigo won the contender series by a head and arm choke as an underdog. This fight is basically a contender series fight. Both fighters combined have a total of one fight in the UFC. The only way Nascimento will win this fight is if Mayes slows down, gets gassed, and can work towards a submission. In my opinion, Mayes’s takedown defense is very good, and I don’t see Rodrigo having his way. If Don’Tale starts blasting hard low kicks, keeps a good pace, and wears down Nascimento on the feet, I see no way that Mayes does not win this fight. I predict Mayes will win by a second-round stoppage.

MY UFC PICK: DON’TALE MAYES. SECOND ROUND TKO.

HONORABLE MENTION:

NATE LANDWEHR (13-3) (-104) (7900).

SONG YADONG (15-4) (-195) (8900).

DAN IGE (13-2) (+121) (7700).

SUMMARY:

On tonight’s 11 bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 10 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the three targets listed in my article to be a part of about 50 percent of my lineups. I will use a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP winning lineup. #1 TARGET: BEN ROTHWELL (7500) (37-12) (+120) VS. OVINCE SAINT PREUX (8700) (24-13) (-130).

Here it is my favorite target of the night. A lot of people will be all over OSP in this fight, due to the fact that Rothwell has looked terrible in the last few contests. Rothwell is 38 years old, and there is not a doubt in my mind that his best days are behind him. In this fight, though, I believe Rothwell could hold his own. Styles make fights, and this could be a tough stylistic fight for OSP. OSP is a single shot fighter, he throws one big kick or one big hook, hopes his opponent feels it, goes defensive and gives him some time to stand back and take a deep breath. OSP is like a video game character; He needs to energize after taking or producing damage. Rothwell is the complete opposite. Rothwell will literally walk down his opponent and block punches with his face (yes, I know, not ideal). He has an amazing chin and can take a beating. He has almost 50 fights under his belt in the UFC and has competed with some of the best heavyweights in the world. Noone has really knocked him out from what I can remember. He has two stoppages out of 50 fights, and those were against two of the all-time greats (In my opinion) at that weight (Valasquez and Arlovski). He can hang in there and take their best shots with no problem. Even though OSP is very dangerous, I think Rothwell is going to eat his punches and wait for an opportunity to rush him when he smells blood in the water. I believe Big Ben Rothwell is going to win by KO in the first or second round.

MY UFC PICK: BIG BEN ROTHWELL. FIRST OR SECOND ROUND KO.

2 TARGET: CHASE SHERMAN (8400) (11-6) (-155) VS. IKE VILLANUEVA (7800) (0-0) (+145).

This fight is a battle between Chase “The Vanilla Gorilla” Sherman and newcomer Ike Villanueva. Sherman has experience on his side and has a decent record of eleven wins and six losses. Sherman is by far the bigger force in this fight coming in at six foot four inches tall and a 78-inch reach, which is a massive difference to the wingspan of Villanueva (72’). Sherman is a lot bigger and will prove to Ike and the world that there are weight classes for a reason. Both fighters are taking this fight on short notice and are going to give it everything they have. Villanueva is debuting in the UFC and could potentially be dealing with some pre-fight jitters. Before the UFC, Ike has faced a bunch of fighters with losing records, and Sherman is going to be a quick wake up call, in my opinion. Villanueva tends to lean heavily on his front leg, which could be a massive problem considering the devastating leg kicks and leg power produced by Sherman. Sherman can also use his length as an advantage and is more than capable of fighting around his opponent. Sherman should take this fight, and I believe it will be due to a stoppage in the second round.

MY UFC PICK: CHASE SHERMAN. SECOND ROUND TKO.

#3 TARGET: MICHAEL JOHNSON (8000) (20-15) (-105) VS. THIAGO MOISES (8200) (12-4) (-105).

A traditional fight between a striker (Johnson) and a grappler (Moises). Johnson is by far the more established and the veteran of this duo, who has been a force in 35 fights in his career. Johnson knows how to take a punch and also knows how to battle with the best of them. One of his most notable wins was versus the powerhouse of Tony Ferguson. He is a super sharp and technical fighter who can control the distance between him and his opponent. His particular set of skills will most definitely come in handy versus his high-level Brazilian Jiu-jitsu specialist opponent (Moises), who is coming into this fight on a short three-week notice. My first thoughts were to POUND the books with a ton of Thiago Moises. I quickly realized that it was not necessarily the best play. Even though Moises is a monster grappler that can give Johnson a tough time if this fight gets to the ground, I believe that Johnson is going to come out guns blazing and in better shape than Moises. Moises is the type of fighter who will go extremely hard at the beginning of the fight but will get gassed out by the middle of the second. The middle of the second round is where Johnson should separate himself with his persistent warrior type fighting, pressuring Moises on every punch or kick. If this fight gets out of the first round, Moises is in trouble. Johnson will throw everything he has putting a striking clinic together while he’s cornering his opponent. Thiago tends to get gassed pretty quickly, and this is where Johnson’s outstanding stamina will come into play. Moises will eventually become flat-footed and frustrated that he can not take down Johnson, who has a fantastic 78 percent initial takedown defense. I believe that Johnson will out work, outstrike, and ultimately dominate this fight in the second round, forcing a stoppage en route to a second-round TKO.

MY UFC PICK: MICHAEL JOHNSON. SECOND ROUND TKO.

SUMMARY:

In this 11 bout fight card, I am focusing on the projected high scoring fantasy point fights. I will be attempting to use fighters at lower ownership in my builds. I am going to lock in Ben Rothwell in about 75% of my lineups. My lineups will have a remaining salary of anywhere from 100 to 2,500. Good Luck, and don’t forget to come back and WinDaily!

UFC MMA Fight Night 170 is one of the few sporting events scheduled to continue as planned this weekend amid the global coronavirus outbreak. The 12-bout event expected to start at 3 p.m. ET at the Ginasio Nilson Nelson em Brasilia, Brazil, in an empty arena due to the pandemic sweeping the world. Only necessary individuals will be allowed in the building. This fight card is highlighted by a much-awaited lightweight showdown between Kevin Lee and Charles Oliveira.

VERONICA MACEDO (9,300) (-165ML) vs. BAE MALECKI (7,100) (+135ML).

MMA DFS PICK: BAE MALECKI (+135ML) VIA LATE ROUND SUBMISSION.

Malecki holds a 10-inch reach advantage over Macedo, which is extremely significant. Macedo is moving up In a weight class.  At Macedo’s salary on Draftkings is priced as if she is going to come out and knock out Malecki, which I believe is far from the case here. Malecki is a former Muay Tai champion and was on The Ultimate Fighter. She also has the advantage of her incredible reach and coming from an excellent gym. Even though Macedo is a blackbelt, has great kicks, and excellent tae kwon do, I don’t think she comes out and destroys Malecki. The possibility is always there for a knockout on either end. Still, I think the more likely scenario would be that this fight goes the distance with minor fantasy point output or Malecki catches Macedo off guard with a late-round rear-naked choke submission. I will most likely be fading this fight. If I had to choose a fighter, it would be Bae Malecki with the upset.

MAYRA BUENO SILVA (8,500) (-145ML) vs. MARYNA MOROZ (7,700) (+115ML).

MMA DFS PICK: MAYRA BUENO SILVA (-145ML) VIA DECISION.

Moroz has moved up in weight class and does not have great finishing ability. She never comes out aggressive and tries to win the fight immediately. She is always in the fight and competing with decent takedowns. I’m more focused on Bueno Silva. Silva is way more aggressive and continuously searches for opportunities to knock out or submit her opponent. She is usually the type of fighter I look for when building my lineups. She can produce high fantasy output with winning potential. Even though Moroz has looked better as of late, this could end with a late-round submission or possible decision by Bueno Silva.

BRANDON MORENO (7,400) (+125ML) VS. JUSSIER FORMIGA (8,800) (-155ML).

UFC DFS PICK: BRANDON MORENO (7,400) (+125ML) VIA DECISION.

Moreno is my favorite value play of the card. This is a great spot for Moreno to move up in his career. His DraftKings salary is too low for the fantasy output he is going to produce. He will not fold, give up, or look for a way out versus Formiga. Even though Formiga faced and beaten some of the bigger names since his debut in the UFC in 2012, he is on the decline. Over his past few fights, he has looked a lot slower than he once was and looked to be producing less power. This spot is where Moreno thrives, and Formiga continues his decline. I see Formiga being upset in this bout, but it definitely will go the distance.

ELIZEU ZALESKI DOS SANTOS (8,400) (-145ML) vs. ALEXEY KUNCHENKO (7,800) (+100ML).

MMA DFS PICK:ALEXEY KUNCHENKO (7,800) (+100ML) VIA SECOND OR THIRD ROUND KO.

Zaleski dos Santos has a few defensive holes in his game. You can be a fantastic offensive fighter but have to be responsible for yourself and your defense. There have been times he has been outworked and outclassed the entire fight. He is a highly decorated grappler, but fell in love with his hands and started focusing much more on quick knockouts than wins. On the other side, Kunchenko is coming in with one loss and hugely underestimated. He is a former champion, has extreme power in his hands, and is very aggressive on top. My favorite Leverage play in GPP’s is Kunchenko. I believe he comes in and completely catches Zaleski dos Santos off guard in a second or third-round knockout. The safe play in GPP’s would be to play two UFC DFS lineups, one with Zaleski dos Santos and another with Kunchenko.

AMANDA RIBAS (9,300) (-335ML) vs. RANDA MARKOS (6,900) (+260ML).

MMA PICK: AMANDA RIBAS (9,300) (-335ML) VIA DECISION.

If Markos is going to win this fight, she is going to have to take it to the fence, making it a close fight, take it to the ground, and control Ribas. I do not see that happening. Ribas trains with much more superior athletes than Markos does. This matchup will be a close fight that is taken the distance. The high salary on Ribas is due to her most recent win over Dern. This is one of the many fights today that will be decided by decision. Due to the cheap salary and slim possibility of a potential upset, I will have a few shares of Markos in my GPP lineups. Even though Markos fights up to her opponents, I believe she takes a loss here.

 BRUNO SILVA (8,200) (-110ML) VS. DAVID DVORAK (8,000) (-120ML)

MMA DFS PICK: DAVID DVORAK (8,000) (-120ML) VIA LATE ROUND TKO OR DECISION.

This fight has my attention. Dvorak searches for the perfect opportunity to make his move. He is a highly talented up and comer and a finisher. I don’t believe he gets the finish with Silva. Silva is an aggressive fighter that looks to take the fight to the cage and the ground. Dvorak will work the perimeter and get reversals, looking for every opportunity to work his game. He tends to take the back of a lot of his opponents. Even though Silva has the experience coming from The Ultimate Fighter and the UFC, Dvorak is in his pro debut looking for his first pro win, and potentially fewer nerves with no crowd in attendance. He could beat Silva in a higher scoring UFC DFS fight. This fight could go either way. I am leaning David Dvorak in possibly a late-round TKO or decision.

ENRIQUE BARZOLA (8,700) (-195ML) VS. RANI YAHYA (7,500) (+160ML).

MMA DFS PICK: ENRIQUE BARZOLA (8,700) (-195ML).

Barzola is an outstanding takedown artist, I believe he should attempt more single and double leg takedowns, but he is not in the best spot. Yahya is a world champion in jiu-jitsu. Rani is an excellent grappler. One mistake by Barzola can result in a quick takedown or reversal by Yahya. He is continuously searching for open legs, attempting to get leg locks on his opponent. Barzola has a nice striking pressure style, where he strikes enough to get takedowns over and over again. The takedowns can bode really well for fantasy point production. In this matchup, production will be surprisingly from striking than grappling, considering both fighters are great grapplers and could be stuck at a stalemate. I think Barzola lands a lot more strikes on Yahya en route to either a unanimous decision or possible knock out late in the fight.

FRANCISCO TRINALDO (8,900) (-170ML) VS. JOHN MAKDESSI (7,300) (+140ML)

MMA DFS PICK: FRANCISCO TRINALDO (8,900) (-170ML).

This fight is going to be an extremely close fight, with both fighters alternating pressure on the other. Coming from a new fight camp, Makdessi has looked better. Trinaldo gives everyone he faces trouble. On paper, it looks as if Trinaldo should go out and TKO Makdessi. This fight will be a lot closer than anticipated. It will not be a one-sided affair. Trinaldos pressure should edge out Makdessi in a low scoring UFC DFS fight. I will not be using either fighter in my lineups. It can go either way. It only takes one shot to drop someone and pour on the pressure. If a choice had to be made, I would lean Trinaldo by decision.

JOHNNY WALKER (8,600) (-150ML) VS. NIKITA KRYLOV (7,600) (+120ML).

MMA DFS PICK: KRYLOV(RISKY) (7,600) (+120ML). VIA LATE ROUND SUBMISSION.

Krylov has looked excellent since coming back to the UFC. He is 1-2 in his last three fights. Do not let his last three fights steer you away. His most recent loss came to a highly talented all-around fighter in Teixeira. He submitted Ovince Saint Preux in the second round in his most recent win. Finally, he dropped a fight to Jan Blachowicz, but who hasn’t Jan beaten? The public is all over Walker here with good reason. Walker can come in hot, fast, and always have the potential to knock his opponent out in 30 seconds. My question is, what does Walker look like after the 13 or 14-minute mark when the fight is not going his way? He is not always going to be in the position where he completely dominates his opponent. This could be the spot, coming off of a loss where he blamed everyone but himself. He can come in completely underestimating Krylov and be in for a rude awakening. I think Krylov takes this one by surprise in a late-round submission, completely catching Johnny Walker off guard. I would recommend playing two UFC DFS lineups, one with Walker and one with Krylov.

RENATO MOICANO (9,400) (-350ML) VS. DAMIR HADZOVIC (6,800) (+275ML)

MMA DFS PICK: DAMIR HADZOVIC (6,800) (+275ML) VIA DECISION.

Moicano has good low kicks, nice scrambling ability, great striking, and excellent jiu-jitsu. All of the great things you need to excel in the UFC. He is coming off back to back knockout losses at a lower weight class, looking to break the slump and destroy his next opponent. The problem is his next opponent is Demir Hadzovic, a big guy who is an all-around good fighter. Hadzovic looks like the stronger guy in this bout. Seeing as Damir does not do many things wrong, is very defensive, and does not leave himself exposed to massive strikes by his opponents, might create an issue for Moicano. Moicano, on the other hand, lacks defense and solely relies on his offensive capabilities to knock out his opponent. He leaves himself open to a possible knockout or submission. I do not believe this happens in this case, but I do possibly see a massive upset coming in a decision win by Hadzovic to pay off his extremely cheap Draftkings salary. The only way Moicano pays off his high priced Draftkings price tag is with a first-round knockout, which I do not see happening.

CO-MAIN EVENT:

DEMIAN MAIA (7,300) (+145ML) VS. GILBERT BURNS (9,000) (-175ML).

MMA DFS PICK: GILBERT BURNS (9,000) (-175ML) VIA DECISION.

Maia can make this a grueling fight. He can make this turn into a low scoring fantasy point fight. This is a spot where Burns can control the fight on the ground, but with minimal fantasy output. If Maia rolls his way to a 15-minute decision, this will be an irrelevant fight from a fantasy point perspective. The two fighters have very similar styles of fighting to the point where they basically can cancel each other out. Both men in this competition are dominant grapplers, have excellent takedowns, submissions, and are highly decorated black belts. Maia is great with his Jiu-jitsu style, and Burns Is with his Muay Tai. As of late, Burns has fallen in love with his kickboxing and could potentially separate himself from Maia in that category. Maia is more accustomed to fighting at his respective weight class, where Burns has slowly been getting acclimated to the weight class bump from 155 to 170. I believe this is going to be a close lower-scoring fantasy point fight that ends in a very close decision.

MAIN EVENT:

KEVIN LEE (8,300) (-150ML) VS. CHARLES OLIVEIRA (7,900) (+120ML)

MMA DFS PICK: KEVIN LEE (8,300) (-150ML) VIA LATE ROUND TKO.

Kevin Lee is one of the top five lightweights in the UFC. In his two fights, he has gone the distance; he has produced heavy Draftkings points. In his win, he produced 164 Draftkings points, and in his loss, he produced 75. He can out muscle and put heavy pressure on Oliveira. In the past, Oliveira has folded when being pressured. Lee will not have a problem with a standing fight and definitely have no problem at all if he gets on top of Charles. Lee can put him in some terrible spots, lay some heavy ground and pound and potentially win by a TKO or submission by the fourth round. Oliveira has been a Draftkings stud. He has also had trouble in the past with making weight. He made a move to a higher weight class. The problem with the jump in weight is he has not fought the competition that Lee has faced. Charles not only moved up in weight but also moved up to face an opponent much stronger than he is. He’s going to come out guns blazing for the first five minutes, trying to do everything he can to knockout Lee out, and fast. When Oliveira comes out, he immediately starts hunting for submissions, body shots, and to end the fight quickly. If Oliveira wins, it will not be by a knockout, it will be by a late fourth or fifth round shifty, sneaky, quick submission, due to fatigue or a mistake by Lee. I do not see that happening. This is a fight where both fighters should produce a lot of fantasy points if it goes the distance. I am not opposed to stacking both of these fighters into one Draftkings lineup. Lee should win this fight, but not before producing 80 plus fantasy points.

SUMMARY:

In this 12 bout fight card, I am focusing on the projected high scoring fantasy point fights. I will be attempting to use fighters at lower ownership in my builds. I am going to lock in Kevin Lee in about 75% of my lineups, and avoid the top four highest salary fighters. My lineups will have a remaining salary of anywhere from 500 to 2,500. Good Luck, and don’t forget to come back and WinDaily!
