I’ll be focusing on my core and GPP plays for 11/11 NBA DFS for each position along with my favorite value plays.   We’ve come to the point where we know most of the NBA teams and which defense to target. My diamonds for tonights DFS slate;

WithNBA DFS, you need to stay locked in the final hour before lock until tipoff. Ifyou can’t be engaged during that hour, we recommend avoiding the NBA slate.Starting lineups and other news is vital to being successful in NBA DFS.

MyCore and Value Plays by Position:

  • Core Plays – PG – 11/11 DFS
    • Luka Doncic, PG, DAL
      • On this slate, I feel like you can get enough value at SF to lock in Harden and Doncic, but I truly believe in Kawhi Leonard going against Toronto. Toronto is on the second night of a back to back and both teams are playing at a fast pace and have overrated defenses. As for Doncic, he does have a difficult matchup against Boston, but they are also on the second night of a back to back
    • Value Play – Patrick Beverley, PG, LAC
      • As I just said, I love the Clippers vs. Raptors game tonight to be high scoring and I want both sides of this game. Beverley is cheap and we can count on a ton of defensive stats with higher minutes from him.
  • Core Plays – SG- 11/11 DFS
    • James Harden, SG, HOU
    • Jrue Holiday, SG, NO
    • Lou Williams, SG, LAC
    • Fred VanVleet, SG, TOR
      • This is the toughest position of the night so I’m listing multiple options. If you can afford Harden, I’d say lock him for sure with one of the value plays below. My second favorite is more likely VanVleet as he’s running point with Lowry out for the next couple of weeks. I still think he’s underpriced and as I said, I love the Toronto vs. LA Clippers game.  As for Lou Williams and Jrue Holiday, I like them as pivots as Lou Williams is on the Clippers and Jrue Holiday should be running the point with Lonzo Ball out.
    • Value Play – Marcus Smart, SG, BOS
    • Value Play 2 – Norman Powell, SG, TOR
      • If Marcus Smart starts, I’m locking him in as he is too cheap against a poor defense in Dallas. As for Powell, he started last night and he’s almost the minimum on FanDuel. He’s probably one of the top salary savers.
  • Core Plays – SF- 11/11 DFS
    • Kawhi Leonard, SF, LAC
      • Leonard is probably my lock play as he won me $50,000 the other night. In all seriousness, he plays on the Clippers and do I need to repeat about the LAC and TOR game?
    • Value Play – Kenrich Williams, SF, NO
    • Value Play 2 – Jarrett Culver, SF, MIN
      • If both start, I choose Kenrich as the HOU vs. NO game is my second favorite game of the slate.  As for Culver, he’s another salary saver if he starts at PG again.
  • Core Plays – PF- 11/11 DFS
    • Derrick Favors, PF, NO
      • This is probably my least favorite position of this slate and I think Favors is way too cheap. If he starts, I’m locked in. As I mentioned, my second favorite game and one of the highest on the slate will be NO vs. HOU.
    • Others – AKA my not so favorite plays, but we need 2 PF on FanDuel
      • Daniel Theis – If he starts for Kanter then I like the salary since he will be starting
      • Trey Lyles – He’s starting for the Spurs and he plays one of the weakest defenses in the Grizzlies.
      • LaMarcus Aldridge – As I mentioned, he plays against Memphis and they can’t defend anyone.
  • Core Plays – C- 11/11 DFS
    • Montrezl Harrell, C, LAC
      • Hey! He’s on the Clippers and they play the Raptors. You know the deal!
    • Lock Value Play – Chris Boucher, C, TOR
      • He’s getting the minutes with Ibaka out and guess what? They play against the Clippers.

I’ll be focusing on my 11/6 DFS core and GPP plays for NBA DFS for eachposition along with my favorite value plays.   We’ve come to thepoint where we know most of the NBA teams and which defense to target. It is vital to NOT play NBA DFS if you cannot keep track until the final tip. Thelast hour before lock is the most importantWe mentioned this in our Premium Slack Channel, but with NBA DFS, you need to stay locked in between the final hour before lock until tipoff. If you can’t be engaged during that hour, we recommend avoiding the NBA slate. Starting lineups and other news is vital to being successful in NBA DFS.My Core and Value Plays by Position:
  • Core Plays – PG – 11/6 DFS
    • Malcolm Brogdon, PG, IND
      • On a second night of a back to back , this could be risky, but they are playing a terrible team in the Washington Wizards. Given they went to OT, they could have tired legs, but I like the smash spot he’s in. I’m hoping he gets lower ownership because of this. Lock him in
    • Value Play – Coby White, PG, CHI
      • We need some salary savers with Drummond, Towns, Embiid, Giannis, Harden, Westbrook, etc. in todays slate and I think we have it in Coby White. He crushed the Lakers last night and I think he can have his way with Atlanta tonight. Both teams are tied and both teams are on a second night of a back to back. It could be highest scoring game on slate.
  • Core Plays – SG- 11/6 DFS
    • Lou Williams, SG, LAC
      • Interesting position as Kawhi has already been ruled out. I think the Clippers have some of the best value on the slate because of this and someone needs to score. My vote is on Sweet Lou, but he has a tough matchup in the Bucks. Could be risky, but he’s a nice salary server.
    • Value Play – Bruce Brown, SG, DET
      • There will be no Derrick Rose, Tim Frazier, Reggie Jackson tonight and what does this mean? It lock in Bruce Brown… again!
  • Core Plays – SF- 11/6 DFS
    • T.J. Warren
      • With facing Washington, I expect a high scoring and high paced game with T.J. Warren a key benefactor. Unless Sabonis or Turner play, he is a lock. Similar to what we said about Brogdon.
    • Value Play – Troy Brown, SF, WAS
      • Brown is beginning to get minutes over Bonga and he has potential to start, but even if he doesn’t, save some money and go Troy Brown’s way.
  • Core Plays – PF- 11/6 DFS
    • JaMychal Green, PF, LAC
      • Green’s usage was through the roof on the first game that Kawhi sat. I think he could go as the top salary saver and you can pair him with Sabonis at PF (if he plays).  Green has a tough matchup, but he’s too cheap.
      • We need to hear Sabonis and Turner news because if they are out. I’m all in on Brogdon and Warren if both sit out with some shares of Jeremy Lamb.
    • I don’t have another favorite PF besides Green, but if I ranked it by what I like for the slate, here’s my order:
      • Julius Randle
      • Eric Paschall
      • Jabari Parker – His price skyrocketed!
      • Rui Hachimura
      • Lauri Markkanen
  • Core Plays – C- 11/6 DFS
    • Andre Drummond, C, DET
      • I’m all in on Drummond. He has a banged up squad behind him and he is in a matchup against the defensively challenged Knicks. The Knicks are not a good team so Drummond could post the same line as this past Saturday and Monday.
      • I pretty much stole the above from my article on Monday.
    • Value Play – Goga Bitadze, C, IND
      • Only play if Sabonis and Turner are BOTH out. Smashed last night and could do it again.

It’s a small four game slate tonight and nothing is going to be sneaky tonight, but I’ll dive into my favorite plays tonight. We’ve come to the point at 11/4 DFS where we know most of the NHL teams and which defense to target. It’s very sad that we don’t have the Florida Panthers tonight, but we’ll be fine!

Top Expensive Line – 11/4 DFS

Nashville One – Filip Forsberg, Viktor Arvidsson, Matt Duchene, and Roman Josi

With asmall slate, nothing is going to sneaky. I can’t emphasize this enough, butwith the second highest total on the slate, Nashville is a top play and I thinkI prefer them over Boston’s top line because of their price. It’s a toss upbetween Boston and Nashville and I lean Nashville because of their matchupagainst the defensively challenged Detroit Red Wings. Let’s lock them in tonightand hope they crush over that Boston top line.

Top Value Line – 11/4 DFS

New York Rangers PP Two – PavelBuchnevich, Jacob Trouba, and Filip Chytil

Rangersfaces off against the Senators and the Senators are a brutal team defensively. They allow a ton of shots and goals and I think the Rangers second Power Play lineis going to sneaky. They aren’t the highest scoring line, but I think it couldbe sneaky tonight.

11/4 DFS – NHL Rankings

Top ThreeForwards/Centers

  1. DavidPastrnak – Boston Bruins
  2. FilipForsberg– Nashville Predators
  3. ArtemiPanarin – New York Rangers

Top Three Defenders

  1. RomanJosi – Nashville Predators
  2. ToreyKrug – Boston Bruins
  3. JacobTrouba – New York Rangers

Top Goalies

  1. PekkaRinne – Nashville Predators
  2. AlexanderGeorgiev – New York Rangers
  3. MikeSmith – Edmonton Oilers

I’ll be focusing on my 11/4 DFS core and GPP plays for NBA DFS for each position along with my favorite value plays.   We’ve come to the point at 11/4 DFS where we know most of the NBA teams and which defense to target. It is vital to NOT play NBA DFS if you cannot keep track until the final tip. The last hour before lock is the most important

Wementioned this in our Premium Slack Channel yesterday, but with NBA DFS, youneed to stay locked in between the final hour before lock until tipoff. If youcan’t be engaged during that hour, we recommend avoiding the NBA slate.Starting lineups and other news is vital to being successful in NBA DFS.

MyCore and Value Plays by Position:

  • Core Plays – PG – 11/4 DFS
    • Ben Simmons, PG, PHI
      • No Joel Embiid means smash spot for Ben Simmons against the high paced Suns. My fear is Ricky Rubio will be on Simmons and he isn’t a bad defender, but Simmons does have like a foot on him. No Embiid means more usage to go around and I believe Simmons can benefit the most like he usually does
    • Value Play – Jeff Teague, PG, MIN and Kyle Bowman, PG, GS
      • I don’t like the matchup, but Towns is out again. Someone needs to score on this team and I think it will be him or Wiggins. I love the price tag of Teague, but if D’Angelo Russell is out again, Kyle Bowman might be an even better salary saver.
  • Core Plays – SG- 11/4 DFS
    • Lock Play – James Harden, SG, HOU
    • Andrew Wiggins, SG, MIN and Bradley Beal, SG, WAS
      • As I mentioned, Towns is out and someone needs to score on MIN. The main guys are Teague or Wiggins even with a tough matchup against the Bucks.  As for Beal , he faces a high paced Pistons team who is pretty beaten up. The game total isn’t as high as some of the others, but I think Beal is in a smash spot.
      • As for Harden, Westbrook is out tonight. Lock in Harden!
    • Value Play – Bruce Brown, SG, DET
      • There will be no Derrick Rose, Tim Frazier, Reggie Jackson tonight and what does this mean? It means low salary Bruce Brown will be starting at PG and he is $3,900 on FD. Lock him in!
  • Core Plays – SF- 11/4 DFS
    • Tobias Harris, SF, DET
      • Once again, there is no Joel Embiid and someone needs to take over the usage left by Embiid.  Harris thrives when Embiid is out and he will continue in this matchup against the Suns.
    • Value Play – Mario Hezonja, SF, POR, Luke Kennard, SF, DET, and Eric Gordon, SF, HOU
      • If Hezonja starts, I think he will be in a smash spot at a very low salary, but we may not find out until after lock. If we cant get the news that he’s starting in time, I’m okay with a pivot to Kennard as DET is banged up and he crushed it this last time around when all the guards were out last game.
      • Gordon is starting with Westbrook out so at such a low salary, he should be a good spot.
  • Core Plays – PF- 11/4 DFS
    • Al Horford, PF, PHI
      • Once again, Embiid is out. Lock in Horford, Simmons, and Harris. I think the best route is to use two of the three, but it may work out to use all three. It worked on Saturday night and it could work again tonight.
    • Value Play – Brandon Clarke, PF, MEM and Robert Covington, PF. MIN
      • Clarke should be starting for Jaren Jackson tonight as he’s listed as doubtful. He should be a solid salary saver tonight with Jackson out. As for Covington, it is the same deal with Wiggins and Teague because Towns is out. My fear is Giannis might be on Covington so it’s a bad matchup
  • Core Plays – C- 11/4 DFS
    • Andre Drummond, C, DET
      • I’m all in on Drummond. He has a banged up squad behind him and he is in a matchup against the defensively challenged Wizards. The Wizards are not a good team so Drummond could post the same line as this past Saturday.
    • Lock Value Play – Gorgui Dieng, C, MIN
      • Dieng is probably starting with Towns out and he’s almost the bare minimum tonight. If you need the salary and can’t pay up for Drummond, don’t even think twice and go Dieng. Plain and simple.

HappyWednesday to all of you  and welcome to the DFS Diamonds with some Week 9NFL, NBA, NHL and props. I’ll go game by game, but know that just because Imight be avoiding the game doesn’t mean I won’t throw in a lineup or 3 in theMilly Maker. I’ll go over an early view of Week 9 NFL and the NBA and NHL slatefor 10/30.

Pleasemessage me with any questions on our premium slack channel or Twitter. Happyreading!

NFLWeek 9

Lionsvs. Raiders – Game Stack of the Week #1

Unfortunatelywe have no Atlanta Falcons defense to pick on this week , but I like picking onthe Raiders pass defense as well.  On topof all that, I like attacking the beat up secondary of the Lions as well. Withthe bad secondaries and terrible pass defenses, sign me up for this shootout ofa game. This game will probably garner a lot of ownership, but have no fear becauseI have a second game stack of the week for you all.

Core Plays  – 10/30 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Derek Carr, QB, OAK – $7,300
    • Matthew Stafford, QB, DET – $7,900
    • Marvin Jones, WR, DET – $5,700
    • Kenny Golladay, WR, DET – $7,600
    • Josh Jacobs , RB, OAK – $7,200
    • Darren Waller, TE, OAK – $6,800
    • Tyrell Williams, WR, OAK – $6,300
  • DraftKings
    • Derek Carr, QB, OAK – $5,500
    • Matthew Stafford, QB, DET – $6,800

    • Josh Jacobs , RB, OAK – $6,500
    • Darren Waller, TE, OAK – $6,300
    • Tyrell Williams, WR, OAK – $5,900

Value Plays – 10/30 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Marvin Jones, WR, DET – $5,700
    • TJ Hockenson , TE , DET – $5,000
  • DraftKings
    • Marvin Jones, WR, DET – $6,000
    • T.J. Hockenson , TE , DET – $3,700

Seahawksvs. Bucs – Second Game Stack of the Week

Thisis the second shootout game of the week. Seahawks got thrown all around by MattSchaub and the secondary is not very good. Both pass defenses are weak and both run defenses are actually not bad.Target the passing game!

Core Plays  – 10/30 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Jameis Winston, QB, TB – $7,500
    • Russell Wilson, QB, SEA – $8,600
    • Tyler Lockett, WR, SEA – $7,500
    • Chris Godwin, WR, TB – $8,200
    • Mike Evans, WR, TB – $8,100
  • DraftKings
    • Jameis Winston, QB, TB – $6,100
    • Russell Wilson, QB, SEA – $7,100
    • Tyler Lockett, WR, SEA – $7,500
    • Chris Godwin, WR, TB – $7,300
    • Mike Evans, WR, TB – $7,200

Other Favorite Plays – 10/30 DFS

  • JoshAllen with John Brown (BUF)
  • MitchellTrubisky with Allen Robinson (CHI)
  • KirkCousins with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen (MIN)
    • AdamThielen on FD = Broken Price

NBA – 10/30 DFS

I’llbe focusing on my core and GPP plays for each position along with my favoritevalue plays.   I did mention that I like to wait and see two weeksbefore I go heavy into my bankroll for NBA to see what offenses to targetagainst bad defenses. For example, the Clippers were one of the worst defenseslast year, but with some big upgrades this season, I see them as a Top 10defense now. This is why I like the wait and see approach for the first fewweeks of the season.

Wementioned this in our Premium Slack Channel yesterday, but with NBA DFS, youneed to stay locked in between the final hour before lock until lock. If youcan’t be engaged during that hour, we recommend avoiding the NBA slate.Starting lineups and other news is vital to being successful in NBA DFS. I willstill be playing a good chunk for the first few weeks so let’s win some moneyand dive in.

My 10/30 DFS Core and Value Plays by Position:

  • Core Plays – PG
    • Ricky Rubio, PG, PHX –  FD: $6,500 ; DK – $6,200
      • Ricky Rubio is on FIRE. He continues to thrive on the Suns and I expect him to continue versus a Golden State team who allows about 200 points per game. On a serious note, I expect a very high scoring game and Rubio is still too cheap
    • Value Play – TBD
      • Honestly don’t see one right now and I feel like spending on Brogdon or Lowry on FD to pair with Rubio. Rubio is a lock. I can see the play for Westbrook, but I fear a blowout versus a rebuilding Washington team.
  • Core Plays – SG
    • RJ Barrett, SG, NY – FD : $7,200; DK – $6,500
      • I will be the first to admit that I was not a fan of RJ coming into the season. I thought he was an overrated player and I didn’t believe him to thrive in the NBA. My exact words from Monday and I’ll mirror it again. He faces a weak team in Orlando and I expect a higher paced game with him thriving once again
    • Value Play – Bogdan Bogdanovic, SG, TOR – FD : $5,300; DK – $3,800
      • With a banged up Kings frontcourt, it’s only a matter of team before Bogdan finally gets going. He is usually the first man off the bench, but he thrives as the sixth man and I expect him to have a huge game very soon. This could be the game
  • Core Plays – SF
    • Pascal Siakam, SF, TOR– FD : $8,600; DK – $8,400
    • Kelly Oubre, SF, PHX– FD : $6,900; DK – $6,200
    • Bojan Bogdanovic, SF, UTA– FD : $6,400; DK – $5,500
    • T.J. Warren, SF, IND– FD : $5,900; DK – $5,600
      • I’m loading up the SF position because I literally like these five guys. I’m finding a tough time finding value on this slate, but I’m liking my player pool to consist of these five guys. I’ll be building only three lineups tomorrow and I figure to have these five guys in my three lineups.
      • **UPDATE – Kawhi is OUT. Might be able to find value for him tonight. Usage for Clips will go up also, but don’t like the matchup. **
  • Core Plays – PF
    • Domantas Sabonis, PF, IND – FD: $8,400; DK – $7,900
      • I’m going to go back to the well with Sabonis on this slate. Brooklyn still has a tough time defending the big man and I expect him or Myles Turner to go off. I’ll take my chances on Sabonis.
    • Value Play – Nemanja Bjelica, PF, SAC –  FD : $4,900; DK – $4,400
      • With Bagley out for four to six weeks, Bjelica has taken over and he finally had a killer game his last time out.  They play a bad Charlotte team who can’t defend the bigs so I’ll load up on some value with him.
  • Core Plays – C
    • Myles Turner, C, POR – FD: $7,400; DK – $7,000
    • Cody Zeller, C, POR – FD: $6,600; DK – $6,000
    • DeAndre Jordan, C, BKN – FD: $5,000 ; DK – $4,700
      • This is another spot where I plan to find some value. Embiid, Drummond, and Towns are all playing and in phenomenal matchups , especially Embiid and Towns who face off against each other, but I want value at Center. I feel like I may pivot to Embiid or Towns as the day progresses, but I’ll hold tight with these three for now. I don’t like Sabonis and Turner in the same lineup, but it could work.

**UPDATED VALUE PLAYS**

  • Dario Saric, PF, PHX
  • Dewayne Dedmon, C, SAC
  • Davis Bertans, PF, WSH
  • Marcus Smart, SG, BOS
  • Dwayne Bacon, SG, CHA
  • Nerlens Noel, PF, OKC

Javi’s Sexy Six

  • Steph Curry, PG, GS
  • Ricky Rubio, PG, PHX
  • Dario Saric, PF, PHX or Kelly Oubre, Jr., SF, PHX or Devin Booker, SG, PHX
  • Pascal Siakam, SF, TOR
  • Davis Bertans, PF, WAS or Marcus Smart, SG, BOS
  • Myles Turner, C, IND or Cody Zeller, C, CHA
    • If you can fit Embiid, C, PHI then go for it!

NHL– 10/30 DFS

I’llbe focusing on my core plays for NHL slate. I’ll be focusing on my favoritegoaltenders and the two games I want to focus on. With these games, I plan ontargeting the power-play units instead of the lines. I’ve come to conclusionthat targeting a team from each of these games paired with the top goaltenderhave been the most successful method thus far. For cash, you can focus on a2-2-2-2 stack and go with a 3-3-2 or 4-3-1 stack for GPPs.

I’lltry to update this closer to lock.

My 10/30 DFS Core and Value Plays by Position:

  • Panthers vs. Avs – Favorite Game Stack
    • I like this game because it’s the highest implied goal total for the night and because we go back to the well with the defensive deficient Florida Panthers. As much as I believe in them, I target the Avs side this game as I think the Panthers are tired from the west coast road trip and they play against one of the hottest teams in the Avs
    • Players to Target:
      • Florida PP1
        • Aleksander Barkov, C, FLA – Expensive, but hasn’t scored a goal. This could be the game to score one or two as the Avs don’t play the best defense
        • Jonathan Huberdeau, W, FLA
        • Mike Hoffman, W, FLA
        • Keith Yandle, D, FLA
        • Evgenii Dadonov, W, FLA
      • Favorite Stack – Colorado PP1 – Good value with Rantenan and Landeskog out.
        • Nathan McKinnon, C, COL
        • Nazem Kadri, C, COL
        • Andre Burakovsky, W, COL
        • Sam Girard, D, COL
  • Coyotes vs. Canadiens
    • This is my sneaky stack of the night. The Lightning and Devils game is tied for highest Vegas total with the Panthers-Avs, but I think this game comes out to be one of the higher scoring games. I believe it’s a pure GPP play, but they could garner ownership with a smaller slate. Even though the Canadiens are on the road, I like their side more than the Coyotes. I do like the Coyotes PP1 as value.
    • Favorite Players
      • Value Play – Coyotes PP1
        • Clayton Keller, W, ARI
        • Phil Kessel, W, ARI
        • Derek Stephan, C, ARI
        • Christian Dvorak, C, ARI
        • Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D, ARI
      • Core Play – MON PP1
        • Brendan Gallagher, W, MON
        • Jonathan Drouin, W, MON
        • Shea Weber, D, MON
        • Jesperi Kotkaniemi, C, MON
      • Core Play – MON PP2
        • Max Domi, C, MON
        • Tomas Tatar, W, MON
        • Jeff Petry, D, MON
        • Joel Armia, W, MON

Happy Monday to all of you and welcome to the 10/28 DFS Diamonds with some NBA, NHL, and props.  I’ll be playing cash and GPP for NBA, but most likely avoiding NHL because I strongly dislike two game slates.

Pleasemessage me with any questions on our premium slack channel or Twitter. Happyreading!

NBA – 10/28 DFS

I’ll befocusing on my core and GPP plays for each position along with my favorite valueplays.   I did mention that I like to wait and see two weeks before Igo heavy into my bankroll for NBA to see what offenses to target against baddefenses. For example, the Clippers were one of the worst defenses last year, but with some big upgrades this season, I see them as a Top 10 defense now. This is why I like the wait and see approach for the first few weeks of theseason.

Wementioned this in our Premium Slack Channel, but with NBA DFS, you need to staylocked in between the final hour before lock until lock. If you can’t beengaged during that hour, we recommend avoiding the NBA slate.

Startinglineups and other news is vital to being successful in NBA DFS. I will still beplaying a good chunk for the first few weeks so let’s win some money and divein.

MyCore and Value Plays by Position:

  • Core Plays – PG– 10/28 DFS
    • Lonzo Ball, PG, NO – FD : $6,900 ; DK – $6,300
      • This is more of a core play if Jrue Holiday is ruled out. He is thriving in the NO offense and he’s playing against a Golden State team that has no problem allowing 120-130 per game.
  • Other Core Plays to Consider
    • Russell Westbrook, PG, OKC – FD : $9,400
      • Revenge narrative?
    • Malcolm Brogdon, PG, IND – FD: $7,600 ; DK : $6,900
      • More of a core play if Jeremy Lamb is out.
    • Steph Curry, PG, GS – FD : $9,200 ; DK : $9500
  • Value Play – Patrick Beverly, PG, LAC– FD: $5,200; DK – $4,800
    • It’s tough to find value on this slate at the PG position and we need to be on the lookout for any injury news to see if we save some salary. Charlotte is in rebuilding mode and their difference is terrible, especially against the center and guard position.  This isn’t my favorite value play to say the least, but we need to save somewhere. The thing with Beverly is he can pile up points with his defensive stats and he has a good shot to do it against Charlotte.
  • Other Value Play to Consider
    • Coby White, PG, CHI – FD: $5,100 ; DK : $5,000

  • Core Plays – SG– 10/28 DFS
    • RJ Barrett, SG, NY – FD : $6,700; DK – $6,100
      • I will be the first to admit that I was not a fan of RJ coming into the season. I thought he was an overrated player and I didn’t believe him to thrive in the NBA. As of right now, I’ve been wrong and he plays against a bad defense in the Chicago Bulls. I believe it’s a killer matchup and he could easily hit over value in this matchup.
    • Value Play – Tony Snell, SG, DET – FD : $3,700; DK – $3,500
      • In three games with the Pistons, he has averaged over 30 minutes in two of those three games.  He is more in there for his defense, but he could easily hit value with a few defensive stats. Not my favorite value play again, but it could work.
  • Other Value Plays to Consider
    • Derrick Rose, SG, DET – $6,500 ; DK : $5,400
      • Most likely without Reggie Jackson. Could go off again.

  • Core Plays – SF– 10/28 DFS
    • Kawhi Leonard, SF, LAC – FD : $9,900; DK – $9,200
      • The Clippers just lost to the Suns and they’re going to coming out blazing against the rebuilding Hornets.  My only fear is blowout risk by end of the third quarter, but we thought the same against the Suns. Load him up!
  • *Updated* Value Play – Mario Hezonja, SF, POR – FD : $3,600, DK : $3,300
    • Zach Collins is OUT and Hezonja might start , but he will see an extended run with Collins hurting his shoulder. Lock him as my favorite salary relief besides Chriss.
  • Value Play – Miles Bridges, SF, CHA – FD : $5,200; DK – $6,300
    • This might be my favorite value play as of right now. I worry Kawhi will cover him, but Kawhi covered Kelly Oubre the other day and he pretty much went off. I believe it will be a very high paced game and high scoring. I just hope the game is close to the end.
  • Other Value Plays to Consider
    • Luke Kennard, SF, DET – FD: $4,900; DK – $5,000

  • Core Plays – PF– 10/28 DFS
    • Domantas Sabonis, PF, IND – FD: $7,900; DK – $7,600
      • Sabonis just had a relatively poor game the other night. I’m hoping this keeps the ownership off of him because I still consider him a double-double machine. He plays a mediocre Pistons defense and I expect him to bounce back nicely.
  • Other Core Plays to Consider
    • Lauri Markannen, PF, CHI – FD: $8,000 ; DK : $7,700
  • *Updated* Value Play – Marquese Chriss, PF, GS –  FD : $3,800; DK – $3,200
    • Kevon Looney is out and he’s starting. Lock him in for this game as it will be fast paced and he’s almost the bare minimum
  • Value Play – Frank Kaminsky, PF, PHX –  FD : $5,200; DK – $5,300
  • Value Play – Dario Saric, PF, PHX –  FD : $5,000; DK – $4,800
    • With Ayton out for 25 games, there is a void to fill at the big man position for the Suns plus all the usage he takes up when he’s in the game. The Suns run mainly through Oubre and Booker, but these guys are an outstanding value and too cheap. I’d get one or the other as a value play to save some salary.

  • Core Plays – C – 10/28 DFS
    • Nikola Jokic, C, DEN – FD: $10,700 ; DK – $9,600
    • Montrezl Harrell, C, LAC – FD : $7,200 ; DK – $6,400
      • If you have the salary, don’t even think twice and go Jokic. He’s a triple double machine and I’m predicting one on this slate. If you can’t make it happen, go with Harrell against the Hornets who can’t defend the Center. Plain and simple!
  • Value Play – Bobby Portis, C, NY – FD : $5,000; DK – $5,400
    • Revenge game versus the Chicago Bulls? I think so, but only if Mitchell Robinson is out. If he plays, I probably wouldn’t use him.
  • Other Value Play if Mitchell Robinson is IN.
    • Aaron Baynes, C, PHX – FD : $4,800; DK – $5,100

NHL – 10/28 DFS

Do you all believe in the Florida Panthers yet? I know I do and this is our year! Now that I got that out of the way, let’s take a brief dive into this 2 game slate. So not thrilling at all.

Panthers are in the second night of a back to back. Meanwhile, Arizona is traveling to the east coast for a night in Buffalo. I’m going to be contrarian and target the Panthers offense over Vancouver. They have scored 17 goals in the past three games.

I don’t expect the Sabres vs. Coyotes game to be high scoring. Both teams are playing great hockey so I side with Sabres PP1 with Panthers PP2 and Panthers PP1 with Coyotes PP1.

I’m avoiding this slate because I don’t like two game slates, but I’ll be on Slack tomorrow to answer any and all questions.

  • Florida Panthers vs.Vancouver Canucks
    • Players to target
      • Florida PP1
        • Aleksander Barkov C, FLA
        • Jonathan Huberdeau W, FLA
        • Mike Hoffman W, FLA
        • Evgenii Dadonov, W, FLA
        • Keith Yandle, D, FLA
      • Florida PP2 – Salary Saver
        • Aaron Ekblad, D, FLA
        • Frank Vatrano, W, FLA
        • Brett Connolly, W, FLA
        • Denis Malgin, W, FLA
        • Noel Acciari, C, FLA
  • Buffalo Sabes PP1
    • Jack Eichel, C, BUF
    • Victor Oloffson, W, BUF
    • Jeff Skinner, W, BUF
    • Sam Reinhart, CW BUF
    • Rasmus Dahlin, D, BUF
  • Arizona Coyotes PP1
    • Clayton Keller, W, ARI
    • Phil Kessel, W, ARI
    • Derek Stephan, C, ARI
    • Christian Dvorak, C, ARI
    • Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D,ARI

My 2 plays of the day come down to a shootout happening in the Warriors versus Pelicans game. I believe Steph Curry is due for a killer game against a bottom tier defense in the Pelicans. I also like the other side with Brandon Ingram. I’m confident he’ll put over 25 points, especially if Jrue Holiday is out.  Take the over on both of these plays!

HappyFriday to all of you  and welcome to the “DeepDive for Week 8” with some NBA and props. I’ll go game by game, but know thatjust because I might be avoiding the game doesn’t mean I won’t throw in alineup or 3 in the Milly Maker. Usually, the team we avoid or the team facingoff against a good defense gets lucky and could off. You just never know. Pleasealso see the deep dive for NBA tonight below the football along with myfavorite props for NBA tonight.

DeepDive for NFL Week 8

Seahawksvs. Falcons – Game Stack of the Week

Sign meup for any team facing the Falcons. It’s safe to say that the Falcons are oneof the worst defense and teams in the NFL. Even though Russell Wilson is themost expensive QB this week, I’ll have a bunch of Wilson lineups with TylerLockett and DK Metcalf stacks. I might even double up on WR for the Seahawks inmost of my lineups. With Dissly out, Wilson needs to throw it to someone. Asfor the Falcons, let’s wait and see on Matt Ryan’s status throughout the weekas I do like the Atlanta side as well with the Seahawks having a pretty weaksecondary.

Core Plays  – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Russell Wilson, QB, SEA – $8,600
    • Chris Carson, RB, SEA – $8,000

    • Calvin Ridley, WR, ATL – $5,600
    • Matt Ryan, QB, ATL – $6,000 (If he plays)

Texansvs. Raiders

This isthe shootout game of the week. Both defenses are middle to lower tier and bothhave some above average offenses.  I expect a lot of points in this gameand a lot of Deshaun Watson with Kenny Stills and DeAndre Hopkins in my GPPs. Ibelieve Watson paired with Hopkins might be one of the higher owned QB-WRstacks this week, especially with Fuller gone. I also like Derek Carr withDarren Waller as it seems they have a great thing going right now. The onlything is they finally fixed Waller’s price so it’s not as low as it has beenthe past few weeks. Josh Jacobs pricing on DraftKings is broken. He will mostlikely be in a ton of my lineups.

Core Plays  – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • DeAndre Hopkins, WR, HOU – $8,200
    • Deshaun Watson, QB, HOU – $8,400
    • Josh Jacobs, RB, OAK – $7,200
  • DraftKings
    • DeAndre Hopkins, WR, HOU – $8,100

  • DraftKings
    • Derek Carr, QB, OAK – $5,000
    • Kenny Stills, WR, HOU – $4,700
    • Josh Jacobs, RB, OAK – $5,800

Saintsvs. Cardinals

This isgoing to be more of a one sided target for me this week. I love TeddyBridgewater , but only if he plays. I want to hold off on Drew Brees if he’sback because we aren’t sure how he will do after missing over a month. If JaredCook plays, we can play the game of playing the tight end versus the Cardinalsas we have all season. The Cardinals can’t stop the tight end unless their nameis Evan Engram or Tyler Eifert.  TheSaints defend well against the run and have an underrated defense as a whole. Iwon’t be targeting anyone from the Cardinals side on this one. I’ll just focuson Bridgewater, Michael Thomas, and Jared Cook.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Michael Thomas, WR, NO – $8,500
    • Jared Cook, TE, NO (If he plays) – $5,800
    • Latavius Murray (If no Kamara), RB, NO – $6,200
  • DraftKings
    • Michael Thomas, WR, NO – $8,000
    • Teddy Bridgewater (if no Brees), QB, NO – $5,900
    • Jared Cook, TE, NO (If he plays) – $5,000
    • Latavius Murray (If no Kamara), RB, NO – $5,800

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • Jared Cook, TE, NO – $5,800
    • Latavius Murray (If no Kamara), RB, NO – $6,200
  • DraftKings
    • Teddy Bridgewater (if no Brees), QB, NO –  $5,900
    • Jared Cook, TE, NO – $5,000
    • Latavius Murray (If no Kamara), RB, NO – $5,800

Bucsvs. Titans

There is nothing more exciting in DFS than two mediocre teams facing off against each other. In all honesty, it isn’t my favorite and I won’t have much in this game except Jonnu Smith if Delanie Walker is out.  I also like the price tag on Mike Evans and Derrick Henry, but both teams are a middle tier defense and I won’t be high on them.  I love  Ryan Tannehill with A.J. Brown for tournaments.

Value Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Jonnu Smith, TE, TEN (if Walker is out) – $4,900
    • A.J. Brown, WR, TEN – $5,500
    • Ryan Tannehill, WR, TEN – $6,900
  • DraftKings
    • Jonnu Smith, TE, TEN (if Walker is out) – $2,800
    • A.J. Brown, WR, TEN – $4,100
    • Ryan Tannehill, WR, TEN – $5,100

Bengalsvs. Rams

Not surehow I’m feeling about this game because it has the potential to be a blowout. Ibelieve most will be on Jared Goff and the Rams WRs with how bad the Bengals defenseis, but their run defense is the worst in the NFL. I like Gurley this week as asneaky play and I don’t think he’ll garner much ownership. I’d avoid this gameexcept for GPPs.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Todd Gurley, RB, LAR – $7,400
  • DraftKings
    • Todd Gurley, RB, LAR – $7,400

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • Tyler Boyd, WR, CIN – $5,600
    • Alex Erickson, WR, CIN – $5,500
    • Auden Tate, WR, CIN -$5,400
  • DraftKings
    • Tyler Boyd, WR, CIN – $5,100
    • Alex Erickson, WR, CIN – $3,700
    • Auden Tate, WR, CIN -$4,200

Eaglesvs. Bills

TheEagles defense is bad and the Bills defense is susceptible to the pass as wesaw Fitzpatrick from the Miami Dolphins throw all over that Bills defense. Ibelieve most people will fade the Eagles defense, but I don’t hate them thisweek. I like Josh Allen with John Brown a lot more than anything else in thisgame.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • John Brown, WR, BUF – $5,900
    • Josh Allen, QB, BUF – $7,700
  • DraftKings
    • John Brown, WR, BUF – $5,900
    • Josh Allen, QB, BUF – $6,500

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • John Brown, WR, BUF – $5,900
  • DraftKings
    • John Brown, WR, BUF – $5,900

Jetsvs. Jaguars

This gamemight be the fade of the week for me, but I wouldn’t mind throwing some MinshewMania aka Gardner Minshew this week with a cheap D.J. Chark. Chark is comingoff two straight poor performances, but his price tag is dropping and Minshewloves to throw to him. The Jets run defense is worse than its pass defense, butI don’t think I’ll target this game except for GPPs.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • D.J. Chark , WR, JAX – $6,300
  • DraftKings
    • D..J Chark , WR, JAX – $6,000

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • Gardner Minshew, QB, JAX – $6,900
  • DraftKings
    • Gardner Minshew, QB, JAX – $5,500

Broncosvs. Colts

This isanother game I’m going to avoid for the most part, especially cash. I’m a bigfan of the Colts defense this week, but Emmanuel Sanders is gone and the onlyreal WR left is Courtland Sutton. Sutton is priced pretty favorably and I willuse him for value on this slate. I’ll tell you this much though. I’m all-in onthe Colts defense on DK.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Courtland Sutton, WR, DEN – $6,000
  • DraftKings
    • Courtland Sutton, WR, DEN – $5,300
    • Colts Defense – $2,900

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • DaeSean Hamilton, WR, DEN – $4,800
  • DraftKings
    • DaeSean Hamilton, WR, DEN – $3,300
    • Colts Defense – $2,900

Chargersvs. Bears

I knowI’ve talked about certain game I don’t like, but I’ll have a few plays forGPPs, but this game is a game I’m completely avoiding. The only play I may haveis both defenses because both offenses are bad this year. Avoid this game evenin GPPs.

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • Chargers DST – $4,100
    • Bears DST – $4,500
  • DraftKings
    • Chargers DST – $2,300
    • Bears DST – $3,600

Panthersvs. 49ers

Anothergame I will not be targeting much. I don’t see much value in any of theseplayers and as much as I love Christian McCaffery, he is just way too much. Avoidthis game and save your money.

Brownsvs. Patriots

Onceagain, a game I don’t like, but there is some value on the Patriots side I maytarget. I do like the pricing of Julian Edelman and Philip Dorsett, but I don’tlike anything else in this game. I might throw one or two GPPs of a cheap OdellBeckham with Baker Mayfield, but that’s in the milly maker and nothing else.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Julian Edelman, WR, NE – $6,600
    • Phillip Dorsett II, WR, NE – $5,600
  • DraftKings
    • Phillip Dorsett II, WR, NE – $4,200

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • Phillip Dorsett II, WR, NE – $5,600
  • DraftKings
    • Phillip Dorsett II, WR, NE – $4,200

GPPGame of the Week:

Lionsvs. Giants

I’m nottoo sure how sneaky this game will be, but I’m loading up on both sides thisweek. The Lions rank towards the bottom in run defense and the Giants just haveone of the worst defenses as a whole.  I expect a shootout, but thequestion is whether Daniel Jones can pick it back up after some back to backpoor performances.

Core Plays – 10/25 DFS

  • FanDuel
    • Matthew Stafford, QB, DET – $7,700
    • Saquon Barkley, RB, NYG – $8,600
    • Kenny Golladay, WR, DET – $6,700
  • DraftKings
    • Matthew Stafford, QB, DET – $6,100
    • Saquon Barkley, RB, NYG – $8,900
    • Kenny Golladay, WR, DET – $6,400

ValuePlays

  • FanDuel
    • Marvin Jones, WR, DET – $6,300
  • DraftKings
    • Marvin Jones, WR, DET – $5,800
    • Matthew Stafford, QB, DET – $6,100

NBA– 10/25 DFS

I’ll befocusing on my core and GPP plays for each position along with my favorite valueplays.   I did mention that I like to wait and see two weeks before Igo heavy into my bankroll for NBA to see what offenses to target against baddefenses. For example, the Clippers were one of the worst defenses last year, but with some big upgrades this season, I see them as a Top 10 defense now. This is why I like the wait and see approach for the first few weeks of theseason.

MyCore and Value Plays by Position:

  • Core Plays – PG
    • Kyrie Irving, PG, BKN –  FD: $9,700; DK – $9,000
      • Kyrie put on a show in his opening game with the Nets and should be able to feast on the lowly Knicks. The Knicks have upgraded themselves this season, but they allowed a ton of points in their first game of the season and I expect it to continue versus the Nets.
    • Value Play – Devonte Graham, PG, CHA – FD: $5,100; DK – $4,600
      • Graham played 27 minutes leading him to 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists versus the Bulls. They are playing a bottom tier Timberwolves team, who allows a ton of points. I expect a shootout and Graham should benefit.
  • Core Plays – SG
    • Bradley Beal, SG, WAS – FD : $9,500; DK – $8,600
      • In my first NBA article, I mentioned OKC having no one on their team really. I know Washington will be one of the worst teams in the league, but someone has to score. That person will be Beal in a plus matchup against the rebuilding Thunder.
    • Value Play – Fred VanVleet, SG, TOR – FD : $6,600; DK – $5,700
      • VanVleet is the real deal. This is plain and simple. I think most of the offense will be through VanVleet and Siakam with Lowry being the more support play. He’s priced pretty low on FD and I think he’ll go under owned given his matchup versus a good defensive Celtics squad. His usage will high last game and he should easily hit value versus the Celtics
    • Other Value Plays to Consider
      • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, SG, OKC – FD : $6,800; DK – $6,500
      • Dwayne Bacon, SG, CHA – FD : $6,100; DK – $5,700
  • Core Plays – SF
    • Taurean Prince, SF, BKN – FD : $5,600; DK – $5,600
      • My least favorite position of the night, but we need to save some salary if we go Kyrie and Beal. I believe this is the spot. If Prince is going to get 41 minutes per game, sign me up. I know the offense runs primarily through Kyrie, but Prince gets a ton of defensive statistics as well and could be a sneaky play versus a bad Knicks team
    • Value Play – Kelly Oubre Jr., SF, PHO – FD : $6,400; DK – $5,700
      • I was torn between Oubre and Prince, but I sided with Prince’s matchup versus the lowly Knicks. Oubre saw a ton of usage and had a few defensive statistics that made him pretty valuable the other night. He has a tough matchup versus Denver , but I think he could hit value given he’s priced too low.
  • Core Plays – PF
    • Lauri Markkanen, PF, CHI – FD: $8,200; DK – $10,100; DK – $8,000
      • Markkanen is going to be a sleeper this year , which is why I drafted him season long leagues. He’s going to be the top offensive producer all season and he faces off tonight versus one of the worst teams in the Grizzlies. David Jones used him the other night and cashed big time. I expect he won’t be as sneaky now that the cat is out of the bag, but I’ll still use him a ton tonight.
    • Value Play – Richaun Holmes, PF, SAC –  FD : $3,700; DK – $3,400
      • With Bagley out for four to six weeks and Harry Giles ruled out tonight, someone needs to fill in. It isn’t official, but I think Holmes gets the nod and he’s almost the minimum on FD. Load him up if he starts!
  • Core Plays – C
    • Hassan Whiteside, C, POR – FD: $8,000; DK – $7,200
      • It hurts me to say this, but Whiteside looked good the other night. He plays against a depleted Sacramento who is just getting hurt with a ton of injuries.  Bagley is ruled out and they had Dedmon to cover Whiteside with no solid backup. I think Whiteside feasts on this matchup, but I don’t like him after his cry baby antics with the Miami Heat the past few years.
  • Other Core Plays to Consider
    • Karl-Anthony Towns, C, MIN – FD : $11,500; DK – $10,800
    • Nikola Jokic, C, DEN – FD: $10,800; DK – $9,300
    • Value Play – Aron Baynes, C, PHO – FD : $3,500; DK – $3,200
      • DeAndre Ayton is suspended for 25 games and the only true Center that is left is Aaron Baynes. He’s the bare minimum on FD and I believe he draws the start. You can save salary this route, but only if he starts.

Monkey Knife Fight – Play these picks today by clicking here and get 100 percent matching bonus!

My 2 plays of the day come down to what I was talking about in the Core Plays section of NBA. I’m a big fan of the Nets vs. Knicks game and I think it’ll be a shootout. Kyrie is the Sheriff in town and he should be able to score over 30 points with no problem. Although The Nets struggle against the big man, I think Randle will not score as much. There is a lot of mouths to feed on the Knicks and I think Randle will hit below 20 this game.

To those of you that don’t recognize me, I go by JPrellezo on FanDuel and DraftKings, but you can call me Javi. My goal is to assist you in becoming more successful and profitable with some DFS Diamonds. I’ll go through what works for me and I hope I can guide you to the Promised Land in the 10/16 DFS Pro Column!

Most DFS sites, pros, players, etc. don’t focus on the next slate until later on in the week, but I want to provide an early look into Week 7. I want to focus on the top three to five games that I’m currently leaning towards for Week 7. I will take a deeper dive into the games later in the week.

10/16 DFS Cash Game Plays and Top Plays

Cardinalsvs. Giants

The battle of two bad defenses. Although the Giants have been more solid on defense, they are still a weaker unit. Kyler Murray seems to be living up to the hype as the #1 overall pick, but he needs to continue to capitalize with touchdowns in the red zone.  I’m going to be more on the Cardinals side for this game, but if Saquon Barkley is back and not limited, I’ll be considering him this week.  The only problem with Barkley on FanDuel and DraftKings is he is the highest priced RB so I might be off him this week. As for David Johnson, he has scored over 15 FanDuel points in five of his first six games this season. More to come on Friday’s article.

10/16 DFS Core Plays

  • FanDuel
    • Kyler Murray, QB, ARI – $7,700
    • David Johnson, RB, ARI – $7,400
    • Evan Engram, TE, NYG – $6,800 (if active)
  • DraftKings
    • David Johnson, RB, ARI – $7,800
    • Evan Engram, TE, NYG – $6,500

10/16 DFS Value Plays

  • FanDuel
    • Daniel Jones, QB, NYG – $7,200
    • Golden Tate, WR, NYG – $6,100
  • DraftKings
    • Daniel Jones, QB, NYG – $6,100
    • Golden Tate, WR, NYG – $5,800 (especially if Sterling Shepard is out)
    • Christian Kirk, WR, ARI – $5,000 (if active)

Ramsvs. Falcons

It’s safe to say that the Rams defense is very overrated. As for the Falcons defense, they are one of the worst in the league. I think that this game is the shootout of the week and I’ll have a mix of Robert Woods with Cooper Kupp with a combination of both in GPP lineups.  I’m also high on the Falcons and think Julio Jones is due for a breakout game and this could finally be the week. Devonta Freeman is a lock for me on DraftKings because he is severely underpriced. Austin Hooper is also underpriced on DraftKings.

10/16 DFS Core Plays

  • FanDuel
    • Devonta Freeman, RB, ATL – $6,400
    • Calvin Ridley, WR, ATL – $5,500
    • Austin Hooper, TE, ATL – $6,600
    • Robert Woods, WR, LAR – $7,300
  • DraftKings
    • Matt Ryan, QB, ATL – $6,300
    • Devonta Freeman, RB, ATL – $5,400
    • Calvin Ridley, WR, ATL – $5,300
    • Austin Hooper, TE, ATL – $5,300

10/16 DFS Value Plays

  • FanDuel
    • Calvin Ridley, WR, ATL – $5,500
  • Devonta Freeman, RB, ATL – $6,400
  • DraftKings
    • Devonta Freeman, RB, ATL – $5,400
    • Calvin Ridley, WR, ATL – $5,300
    • Austin Hooper, TE, ATL – $5,300

GPPGame(s) of the Week:

Jaguarsvs. Bengals

I still believe in Minshew Mania. Besides having the greatest mustache, I still think he had a bad game because he faced off against an underrated defense. I will side more with the Jaguars side on this one, but Joe Mixon is so cheap, especially on DraftKings. Their pricing seems to continue to be broken with Leonard Fournette as the sixth highest price RB for the slate when he should easily be priced higher. The Bengals have a lot of value plays for this week against a Jacksonville defense that is a shell of its former self.

10/16 DFS Value Plays

  • FanDuel
    • Gardner Minshew, QB, JAX – $6,900
    • Joe Mixon, RB, CIN – $6,100
    • D.J. Chark, WR, JAX – $6,600
    • Tyler Boyd, WR, CIN – $5,600
    • Auden Tate, WR, CIN – $5,900
  • DraftKings
    • Joe Mixon, RB, CIN – $5,000
    • Tyler Boyd, WR, CIN – $5,600
    • Auden Tate, WR, CIN – $4,500
    • Leonard Fournette, RB, JAX – $7,000
    • Gardner Minshew, QB, JAX – $5,400

Billsare coming off a bye week and are most likely my lock in DST for FD at $5,500vs. the lowly Dolphins.

I’llbe back Friday with a deeper dive into all the NFL games for Week 7.

10/16 DFS NHL

I finally have a chance to dive deeper into an NHL slate that is more than three games. My goal is to focus on my three favorite games, one of which will be a game stack that I will use. Something I have learned with NHL DFS is paying up on defense. Sometimes people feel the value comes at defense, but I prefer to pay up at defense and build my lineups around better defenseman and a solid goalie. I’m mainly a GPP guy, but I’ll focus on the core plays that you can use for cash and GPPs. Before I dive in, please note that the Maple Leafs,  Flyers, and Hurricanes are on the second night of a back to back so keep that in mind.

MapleLeafs vs. Capitals

Maple Leafs – The Maple Leafs might have the best offense in the NHL and I don’t believe that their defense is as good as it has been playing. They have a high powered offense and play at a higher tempo than most, which hurts their defense and makes them allow more goals than the norm.  Given the Capitals’ weakness on defense thus far, I’ll be targeting the Maple Leafs in the majority of my lineups. Core plays for the Maple Leafs include their entire PP1 line which includes Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner, John Tavares, Morgan Reilly, and Andreas Johnsoon. I’d focus on one lineup with four of these guys and another lineup with four of these guys, but include the one you left out in the previous lineup.

Capitals – This is quite surprising as the Capitals have allowed 4. 6. 1, and 6 goals in their last four games. It looks like even though their defense has struggled mightily, they are still a high powered offense, as they have scored 3, 5, 4 and 3 goals in their last four games. Given the Leafs may have some tired legs in the second night of a back to back, I’m targeting this as my favorite game stack of the night. Core plays for the Capitals include John Carlson, Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and T.J. Oshie.

KeyTakeaway – This will be my top game stack.  This game should garner some ownership given thematchup, but you can be different by focusing more on the Capitals side overthe Leafs side. I wouldn’t be surprised at a 6-5 final score.

Avalanchevs. Penguins

Avs– This Power Play unit is one of the best and I’m seriously considering bothunits when it comes to using the Avs in tournaments. I believe the Leafs andCapitals will be so popular that the Avs may go overlooked. Core plays from Avsinclude Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan Mackinnon, Nazem Kadri, and Mikko Rantanen. Youcan also do GPP with Tyson Jost, Joonas Donskoi, and Samuel Girard.

Penguins– I’m not as high on the Penguins as I am with the Avs.  The Avs are probably one of the most excitingteams to watch and have such a high powered offense and the Penguins are stillnursing a ton of key injuries. There is some value with the Penguins, but I’mnot as high on them Core plays from Penguins include Sidney Crosby, KrisLetang, and Patric Hornqvist.

KeyDFS Takeaway – As I mentioned, I’m more on the Avsside than the Penguins side, but the Penguins can be a sneaky GPP play.

OtherTeams to Target

Hurricanes– The Hurricanes are surprisingly one of the best teams right now. I think weshould ride the hot streak and continue to stack them even though they are on thesecond night of a back to back. The Sharks seem to be one of the weaker teamsin the league and the Hurricanes should feast on the Sharks. Core plays fromCarolina include Sebastian Aho, Dougie Hamilton, Jordan Staal, and NinoNiederreiter.

Sabres– The defense has been solid and the offense is one of the hottest thus far. Theymatch a less than impressive Ducks squad. Core plays from Buffalo includeJack Eichel , Jeff Skinner, Victor Olofsson, and Sam Reinhart. These guys willbe on the PP1 unit and are a top play for your stacks.

Asalways, I’ll be on the NHL Slack page for most of the day tomorrow.

PGA DFS (10/16)  – The CJ Cup

I hope you took it upon yourself to get a few golfers from my article last week. The Top 3 for me all finished Top 10 and even one won it all! I hope to be on point for you all once again.

CorePlays

SungjaeIm  (FD : $10,300 ; DK : $9,700) – Mytop overall play for this tournament given he is in his hometown. I’ll be doingabout 100 lineups and he will be in half them given his above-average shortgame. Given the hometown play and a solid approach to green game, I’m all in onIm.

IanPoulter (FD : $9,900 ; DK : $8,900) – Best value play and will also bein a good chunk of my lineups. Besides being the angriest golfer on tour, he isa solid all around player. Given this is a more competitive tournament thanlast week, it will be tough to find some value, but he will garner someownership and you should use him too.

MyConsensus Value Rankings for this Tournament:

  • Sungjae Im
  • Ian Poulter
  • Andrew Puntnam
  • Jason Day
  • Luke List
  • Justin Thomas
  • Tommy Fleetwood
  • Jordan Spieth

Week 4 DFS Tight End Cash Game Plays

EvanEngram, NYG vs. WAS

FD ($6,800)         DK ($5,700)

Engram is still the best receiver available on the Giants, so that hasn’t changed since Week 1 – and has been elevated to either the No. 1 fantasy TE or No. 2 by just about every expert polled in Week 4. More than anything else, consensus rankings that uniform are the stuff of cash game gold – and we needn’t look further than Engram’s game logs and target totals (14,8,8) to know that he’s a reliable pass catcher who’s involved in every aspect of the offense. With rookie QB Daniel Jones (DAMN, Daniel!) at the helm and Saquon Barkley injured, the Giants TE will be heavily riled upon in Week 4.

DarrenWaller, OAK at IND

FD($6,700)         DK ($5,200)

A guy who rarely comes off the field for the Raiders offense and has seen target totals of 8, 7 and 14 in the first three games, Waller entered the season as a highly touted, but somewhat risky fantasy option on a rudderless team without a bona fide No. 1 receiver. He hasn’t yet to score a TD, and that makes him kind of risky in GPPs – where he’ll be pretty highly owned. But Waller has incredibly managed to put himself into fine position as a cash game option with his elite level of involvement in just about every Oakland game script. I’m not saying he’s a bad GPP play, but he’s going to be chalky along with Engram.

Week 4 DFS Tight End GPP Plays

TravisKelce, KC at DET

FD(7,600)         DK ($7,200)

Once again, Kelce has adifficult on-paper matchup that could keep a portion of the field away, and he’sstill very much a viable cash game option despite facing the Lions – who havedefended TEs well so far. But he’s my top GPP option of the Week and it’s not especiallyclose. At the moment, I’m looking at having ownership levels north of 50percent for Kelce, who’s put up consistent target totals of 8, 9 and 8 in hisfirst three games and has already compiled 25-284-1 on the season. He’s primedfor a two-TD game versus the Lions and I’m not especially afraid of theirdefense, which will struggle to contain this big-bodied gamebreaker.

EricEbron, IND vs. OAK

FD($5,300)         DK ($4,000)

With Jacoby Brissett really clicking in this Colts offense and the Raiders safeties and linebackers looking a bit sluggish and underwhelming, I’ll have some shares of Ebron at this price. He hasn’t drawn any huge target totals this season and splits the field time with Jack Doyle, who’s another possible GPP option. What Ebron (11-80-1 on the season through three games) offers in Week 4 is likely increased usage inside the red zone, where he should have more opportunities than usual given Oakland defensive futility. He won’t draw much ownership and we know he has enormous upside – albeit a relatively low floor.

DelanieWalker, TEN at ATL

FD($5,700)          DK ($4,800)

Walker is nursing a kneeinjury that has seen him miss consecutive practices, but if he’s available –even in a limited fashion – during Friday’s sessions I’ll find a way to use himin some tournaments. Walker is a veteran TE who’s posted 16-158-2 over his firstthree games and has a history of playing hurt, which can be a blessing and acure for fantasy owners. He’s fairly priced on both sites and has decent upside againstan Atlanta team that just lost Keanu Neal – its standout strong safety – to atorn Achilles. If Walker plays on Sunday, I’ll have some exposure.

Week 4 DFS Tight End Punt Plays

WillDissly, SEA at ARI

FD($5,400)         DK ($3,600)

I make sure I lead off the punts by reminding you that you’ll be assuming a considerable amount of risk not looking to the obvious top TEs, but I’m not so sure that Dissly isn’t obvious at this point – given the matchup against the dreadful Cardinals and the upside that he’s established. After a quiet Week 1, Will has put up performances of 5-50-2 on five targets and 6-62-1 on seven targets. He’s worth rostering in all contests as a FLEX pairing with a more chalky TE or as a “contrarian light” option if you’re fading the five or six guys ahead of him in the weekly fantasy rankings. He’ll still garner ownership, but it probably won’t be as high as it should be.

MikeGesicki, MIA vs. LAC

FD($4,600)         DK ($2,600)

Gesickiis a complete dart throw given Miami’s putrid offense and the fact that he’s onlyseen 11 targets through the first there weeks. But don’t look at him havingjust six catches for 51 yards without a touchdown through threegames as a negative – look at it as an opportunity to keep his ownership in the0-5 percent range. The second-year tight end won’t be a cash game optionanytime soon, but he’s likely to see increased targets in Week 4 versus the Chargerswith WRs Albert Wilson (calf/hip) and Allen Hurns (concussion) questionable anddoubtful, respectively.

Additional Week 4 DFS GPP/Punt options:

Mark Andrews, BAL vs. CLE (FD $6,100, DK $5,000) – Nursing a foot injury, so a GPP option you should make sure is playing.

Austin Hooper, ATL vs. TEN (FD $6,400, DK $4,300) – Hooper is my white whale for DFS TEs, and I’m always on the wrong end of his capricious antics.

O.J. Howard, TB at LAR (FD $5,900, DK $3,900) – At some point they’re going to start throwing to him.

Vernon Davis, WAS at NYG (FD $5,100, DK $3,400) – He’s old as the hills, but he’s playing the Giants and this one could get interesting.

Week 4 DFS DST Cash Game Plays

LosAngeles Chargers (LAC at MIA)

FD($5,300)         DK ($3,800)

The Chargers are playing the Dolphins – and while we needn’tsay much more than that, it’s important to point out that despite a bevy of solidpass rushers, they have only recorded four sacks through three games. That’s anumber set to increase on Sunday against the worst offensive line in football. Don’toverthink this one and get the Chargers DST in there in cash games if you canafford it.

JacksonvilleJaguars (JAX at DEN)

FD($4,700)         DK ($3,700)

It’s somewhat dangerous to play a defense at Mile High – a venue that doesn’t lend itself to standout performances for opponents. But these Denver Broncos are not a well-oiled machine, and they could have trouble moving the ball against the Jaguars defense. This Jacksonville unit is coming off its best game of the season in Week 3, when they racked up nine sacks and recovered a fumble, their first takeaway in 2019. They’d obviously like to have Jalen Ramsey for this game, but he’s on paternity leave and probably won’t be available in Week 4. If he somehow is, the Jags are an even better play.

Week 4 DFS DST GPP Plays

LosAngeles Rams (LAR vs. TB)

FD($4,300)         DK ($3,500)

The Rams DST has been consistent from a fantasy points perspective, scoring 9, 8 and 9 FP in the first three weeks of the season. They have somesuperstar defensive lineman, including one of the best in the game, a group ofcapable LBs and some excellent defensive backs. They’ve also notched an INT ineach of their contests so far and should continue that streak against JameisWinston and the Bucs. Plug them in some of your GPPs and enjoy the results.

ChicagoBears (CHI vs. MIN)

FD($4,700)         DK ($3,400)

By way of their electrifying performance in Week 3, the Bearscould garner some higher ownership levels than they might deserve against a Vikingsunit that runs the ball a lot and will do everything they can to prevent KirkCousins from getting in too many 3rd and long situations. Truthfully, that’s apretty smart strategy against a Bears defense that caused five turnovers Mondaynight against the Redskins.

Week 4 DFS DST Punt Plays

IndianapolisColts (IND vs. OAK)

FD($4,300)         DK ($3,100)

The Colts defense had four sacks in each of its first twogames before the goose egg against Atlanta, and I expect a much betterperformance at home facing the woeful Raiders. They give up some yardage, butfor this price I’m buying shares.

TennesseeTitans (TEN at ATL)

FD($3,500)         DK ($2,600)

Ina week without too many viable punt options at DST, this is about as cheap as I’dlike to go. The Titans secondary is much better than they played last Thursdaynight in Jacksonville, and despite a difficult matchup against a potent Atlantaoffense, there’s plenty to like in terms of their upside (23 FP in Week 1) and theplaymaking ability of their ball-hawking defensive backs.

AdditionalDST options:

New England Patriots (NE at BUF)

Houston Texans (HOU vs. CAR)

If you have any questions and would like some further help when building your lineups, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly on Twitter

The purpose of this weekly article is to identify team/game stacks that we are going to use for an NFL DFS GPP. For those of you that don’t know, a “team stack” is simply multiple players from the same team (I rarely ever use more than three players on a given team).

A “game stack” is similar, except we are going to use players from both teams in a given game. Focusing on team stacks and game stacks is incredibly useful in the NFL DFS GPP environment. That being said, let’s get to this week’s top NFL DFS stacks!

Top Game Stack

Baltimore Ravens @ Kansas City Chiefs (53)

There’s really not a whole lot to say about this game besides that you are going to want to get some exposure to it in one or more of your NFL DFS GPP lineups. Both offenses come into this game scorching hot and I’ll be sure to get some shares of both teams in DFS this weekend.

Keep in mind, both quarterbacks are extremely expensive, but that should help keep ownership down a bit throughout the industry.

Baltimore Ravens

  • Lamar Jackson ($7,000)
  • Marquise Brown ($5,900)
  • Mark Andrews ($4,600)
  • Mark Ingram ($5,700)
  • Willie Snead ($4,200)

Kansas City Chiefs

  • Patrick Mahomes ($7,600)
  • Travis Kelce ($7,100)
  • Sammy Watkins ($6,800)
  • Mecole Harman ($5,000)
  • Demarcus Robinson ($5,200)

Top Team Stacks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Tampa Bay comes in with what is looking like the fourth highest implied total on the slate sitting around 27 points. This is a great number to focus on when building NFL DFS GPP lineups. Usually, I’ll always have a big focus on teams that have an implied total of 25 or more points and a game script that I can predict/support.

The Giants are in my opinion, the absolute worst team in defending the pass right now and their run defense isn’t much better – this leads me to having a very positive game script for the Bucs’ offense as a whole. The one thing that is scaring me a bit is: unlike a typical Bruce Arians offense (pass-heavy), TeamRankings.com shows us that the Bucs sit towards the bottom in the NFL for pass attempts per game.

First off, I don’t think Bruce Arians has completely changed his coaching style. Secondly, as the sample size continues to grow, my bet is that the Bucs will be one of the most pass-heavy teams in the NFL. Mike Evans and the boys are due for a big week.

  • Mike Evans ($6,600)
  • Peyton Barber ($4,600)
  • Jameis Winston ($5,400)
  • Chris Godwin ($6,900)
  • O.J. Howard ($3,800)

Buffalo Bills – I love the way the Bills have been playing on offense. Josh Allen is crushing it to start the year and I love him in all formats in DFS this week… especially for a NFL DFS GPP. He’s due for a big passing game and will always do damage via the run (not to mention the Bengals are a bottom five defense in defending not only the pass, but the run as well). Bills Mafia, here we go!

  • Josh Allen ($5,900)
  • John Brown ($5,500)
  • Zay Jones ($3,300)
  • Frank Gore ($4,400)
  • Cole Beasley ($4,400)

San Francisco 49ers – I’m all in for going right back to the well to roster some 49ers in a NFL DFS GPP. I don’t think anyone is going to play them this week and their pricing is more than reasonable. This is a great spot to get contrarian in your lineup builds.

  • George Kittle ($5,800)
  • Jimmy Garoppolo ($6,200)
  • Deebo Samuel ($4,500)
  • Matt Breida ($5,400)
  • Marquise Goodwin ($5,000)
  • Dante Pettis ($4,500)

Arizona Cardinals – Although Arizona has a slightly lower implied team total than I’d like to see (~24 points), I am really liking the idea of getting some Arizona stacks in my NFL DFS GPP lineups. Larry Fitzgerald has been incredibly successful versus a zone defense and that is what Carolina is going to bring to the table.

Kingsbury’s air raid offense is going to have multiple “trip” sets of receivers on one side of the field for most of this game and I think the Panthers will really struggle in defending that for a full game. If the Cardinals’ offensive line can hold the pass rush (that’s a big “if”), Kyler Murray is going to have a monster day with both his arm and legs.

  • Larry Fitzgerald ($5,100)
  • Kyler Murray ($5,800)
  • David Johnson ($6,800)
  • Christian Kirk ($5,000)
  • Damiere Byrd ($3,000)

Sample NFL DFS GPP Lineup

QB: Josh Allen

RB: Frank Gore

RB: Aaron Jones

WR: Nelson Agholor

WR: Mike Evans

WR: John Brown

TE: George Kittle

FLEX: Christian McCaffrey

DST: Buffalo Bills
