DFS Cash games

Week Six was an awesome one for the Win Daily Team. NFL DFS Cash Games came back to life after a ridiculously high scoring Week Five that made it difficult to cash in any tournament format. We crushed our Week Six Cash Games and even the sample lineup from last week’s Checkdown finished with 160 DraftKings points! Let’s get right back to it for the Week Seven Checkdown for your NFL DFS Cash Games.

Sign up NOW for WIN DAILY Premium Gold right here! Projections, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!

My articles will be mainly meant for DraftKings, but you can certainly use this information for other DFS websites. Please check back in on Saturday/Sunday morning for potential NFL DFS Cash Games updates.

If you have any questions and would like some further help when building your lineups, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly on Twitter. I’m always available to help NFL DFS players make the most of their investments.

Some notes on what I believe to be the “optimal” roster build for NFL DFS Cash Games. I’ll include this in all the Checkdown articles moving forward. For Week Seven, please see below for my notes on roster construction:

  • This is another great week to lock in two “stud” running backs and take advantage of the value available at WR/TE.
  • Just like Weeks Five and Six, there are a lot of great plays at the wide receiver position – I don’t think you have to focus on any one player here when building your cash lineups.
  • Just because someone is not included in this write-up, does not mean you cannot play them in cash. These are all just my preferred plays for an optimal cash game build.
  • Full disclosure: I will be playing a lot of DFS Cash Games this week and will be using the same lineup for all of them. As of now, I will 100% be using: Goff, Fournette, Cook, Hooper, and a Rams WR. The others will only be players mentioned in this article.

NFL DFS Cash Games Quarterbacks

  1. Lamar Jackson ($6,800) – The floor is always there for Lamar Jackson due his to ability to be a Top 10 rusher on any given slate. There is also a high total (opening at 50.5 points) in this matchup in Seattle… a lot to like about Lamar Jackson in Week Seven.
  2. Russell Wilson ($6,600) – Wilson has to be the favorite for the NFL MVP right now. He’s always in play for cash games as he’s proved he is matchup proof.
  3. Josh Allen ($6,500) – Love the matchup, hate the price. We usually love Josh Allen because he’s sub $6,000 in salary most weeks and always provides a solid floor of rushing yards. Buffalo is a massive favorite in this game where they host Miami, but I still think Josh Allen is safe for 18+ DraftKings points.
  4. Aaron Rodgers ($6,400) – Although it’s minimal, Rodgers is now cheaper than Josh Allen, lol. I will only use Rodgers if Davante Adams is back in the lineup (which doesn’t appear to be probable). If Adams is in, I love Rodgers in this spot. I’ll update this one throughout the week. A lot of injury concerns. No need to pay up for Rodgers with Goff in such a prime spot.
  5. Jared Goff ($6,200) – EVERYONE destroys this Atlanta secondary. Kyler Murray was my preferred cash game QB in Week Six due to the matchup, and Goff is going to be my preferred play this week for that exact same reason. The Rams just got embarrassed at home. They are due for an offensive explosion and that will come this week.
  6. Jacoby Brissett ($5,600) – If you need salary relief, Brissett is your man in Week Seven. The Houston Texans just beat the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, but they left Missouri with some bad news.

The Texans top cover cornerback, Bradley Roby, suffered a significant hamstring injury and is going to miss multiple games. Their other top cornerback, Johnathan Joseph didn’t even suit up in Week Six due to injury and will be questionable for Sunday’s game.

Brissett and the Colts’ passing attack should have no issues moving the ball at home this week against a banged up Texans’ defense.
  7. Gardner Minshew ($5,400) – Not a preferred play by any means, but if you somehow need to save an extra $200 and cannot afford Brissett, Minshew should be competent enough to get 15+ points against the Bengals. This defense has yet to give up a 300-yard passing game to an opposing QB, so tread lightly.

Again, if you HAVE to save $200 in salary, you can use Minshew. It’s best to avoid this play because we really need to take advantage of the three-point bonus DraftKings offers for 300+ passing yards.
I added some more players at RB/WR that should help you avoid needing Minshew.

NFL DFS Cash Games Running Backs

  1. Dalvin Cook ($8,000) – Not much to say about Dalvin Cook. He is the top running back on the slate and is going up against a Detroit defense that has struggled to defend the run. The Lions have already given up five touchdowns to opposing running backs in just four games, and we all know how much touchdown equity Dalvin Cook possesses.
  2. Alvin Kamara ($7,500) – The Bears defense is good, maybe even great, but Oakland showed us two weeks ago that you can beat them by running right at Khalil Mack. Kamara should get back on track this week in a slow-paced battle in the trenches against the Bears. Injury concerns and a very low-total in this game. Just use Cook/Fournette for your top-tier RBs.
  3. Leonard Fournette ($7,000) – Incredible value for a running back who’s usage is through the roof. The Bengals consistently get destroyed by opposing running backs. Fournette should carry 90% ownership in NFL DFS Cash Games in Week Seven. You cannot fade him in this spot.
  4. Chris Carson ($6,500) – Another game, another 25+ touches for Chris Carson. Baltimore is tied for the NFL lead in touchdowns allowed to opposing running backs, so there isn’t a real reason to fear this matchup (especially with the Seahawks being at home).
  5. Tevin Coleman ($5,600) – The timeshare with Breida has me a little concerned, but Coleman should find his way to 80 all-purpose yards and a score. Enough to hit value.
  6. Devonta Freeman ($5,400) – Devonta Freeman is starting to be featured more and more in this Falcons’ offense. The pass catching is increasing and we’re seeing less Ito Smith. I don’t love this matchup, but Freeman is an excellent choice for cheap exposure to the game with the highest total on the slate.

I have Freeman projected for 92 all purpose yards and a touchdown. That should be more than enough production to hit value in DFS.
  7. Frank Gore ($5,200) – Miami is awful. Buffalo is a 16-point home favorite. This smells like a solid outing for Frank Gore, but there’s nothing sexy about rostering him above a $5,000 price tag.
  8. Kerryon Johnson ($5,100) – Similar to Devonta Freeman, Johnson is starting to take full responsibility in the Lions’ rushing attack. The Vikings are stingy against opposing running backs, but at this price, Kerryon Johnson is worth mentioning for cash game builds.
  9. Josh Jacobs ($5,000) – My number one value play at the running back position. The Packers run defense has been brutal thus far and should have their hands full with a three-down, elusive running back like Josh Jacobs. Not to mention, Jacobs is coming off of the best game of his young career and will have fresh legs after a bye week.

Wide Receivers

  1. Michael Thomas ($7,900) – Always in play for cash, but the price is high. If you build around Goff, Fournette, Josh Jacobs, and a cheaper tight end, you should be able to afford Michael Thomas. This is not an ideal matchup for Thomas to exploit, but the double-digit floor will be there.
  2. DeAndre Hopkins ($7,800) – 100% cash viable against a Colts’ secondary that will have issues with these Texans wideouts.
  3. Cooper Kupp ($7,400) – Thankfully, we faded Kupp (at ~35% ownership) in NFL DFS Cash Games in Week Six. Kupp is coming off of one of the worst games of his NFL career but enters Week Seven in an absolute smash matchup against the Falcons’ poor-excuse of a secondary. If the Falcons plan on using Damontae Kazee to cover Kupp on Sunday, they are in for a long day.
  4. Larry Fitzgerald ($6,100) – Fitzgerald always makes the writeup, but I’m starting to doubt his ceiling as a DFS target. His floor will always be there, but if we keep having these weeks where we need 160+ points to cash in 50/50s, Fitzgerald may find his way out of the weekly writeup. Luckily, this is a nice matchup for Fitzgerald to feast in.
  5. Robert Woods ($5,900) – If you can’t afford Kupp, use Woods. Hell, use both if you love this Rams’ matchup as much as I do.
  6. T.Y. Hilton ($5,900) – If we like Brissett, we have to like Hilton. Great price for a player who offers a 30-point ceiling.
  7. Golden Tate ($5,800) – If Evan Engram misses this game, Tate should be a borderline lock-button player for cash. Patrick Peterson is finally returning for the Cardinals this week, but he shouldn’t shadow Tate in the slot. If anyone is to perform for this Giants’ receiving corps, it’s going to be Tate. Engram should play, I still like Tate, but not as much as I do without Evan Engram.
  8. Kenny Golladay ($5,800) – Why is he so cheap? If Alshon Jeffrey can have a day against the Vikings’ cornerbacks, Golladay should have no issues.
  9. Allen Robinson ($5,500) – Robinson needs to be priced up in the $6k range. He is an absolute target monster and is a lock for 12+ DraftKings points.
  10. Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($5,200) – Only cash viable if Davante Adams is out. Keep an eye on his injury status.
  11. Mike Williams ($4,600) – I don’t see a whole lot of “punt” options at the wide receiver position, so Mike Williams is probably as low as I’ll go at the moment. He offers DFS players a very high ceiling and should get in the box in Week Seven. This is a must-win game for the Chargers, so I’m confident Phil Rivers will do his part to carve up this Titans’ secondary. If I’m right, Mike Williams will be a big part of that.
  12. Auden Tate ($4,500) – The targets are going to continue to be there (assuming A.J. Green does not suit up). With Jalen Ramsey now on the Rams, Tate should see a lot of Tre Herndon (who is seven inches shorter than the big-framed Auden Tate).
  13. Dante Pettis ($4,100) – I needed to add one more “punt” typer of player as we may need other avenues for salary relief. I hate to recommend Pettis in cash (he will heavily used in my MME GPP player pool), but Pettis has been getting more involved with the 49ers’ offense and should destroy Fabian Moreau in the slot on Sunday.
  14. Allen Lazard ($3,000) – Absolute free square. If these Packers’ top wideouts miss the game (Davante Adams already ruled out), you 100% must lock in Lazard for cash games.

Tight Ends

Keep in mind, George Kittle and Evan Engram are 100% in play this week, but I will not include them in the writeup. I’ve mentioned above that the optimal cash build is most likely going to be based around paying down at tight end.

  1. Austin Hooper ($5,300) – How is he not in the $6k price range? Lock him in.
  2. Mark Andrews ($4,900) – Great price, great matchup. If Baltimore falls behind to Russell Wilson and the Seahawks early, Andrews should be in for a career day. If this game paces down a bit, Andrews will still see seven or more targets and easily hit value.
  3. Darren Waller ($4,700) – Waller is Derek Carr’s first look in the passing game. I think it’s a safe bet that he sees eight or more targets against a Packers’ team that should get an early lead and force Oakland to pass more than they’d like to.
  4. Hunter Henry ($4,000) – Welcome back, Hunter Henry! At this price, you cannot go wrong with locking in Henry. Outside of Hooper, Henry will be my top choice at the tight end position. Recency bias should up his ownership a bit (I’d be selling Henry immediately in season-long leagues).
  5. Gerald Everett ($3,700) – Simply a price play. Atlanta struggles against anyone who runs a route.

Defense/Special Teams

  1. Buffalo Bills ($4,300)
  2. San Francisco 49ers ($4,100)
  3. Chicago Bears ($3,000)
  4. New Orleans Saints ($2,900)
  5. New York Giants ($2,500)

Week Four was another great week for NFL DFS Cash Games at Win Daily Sports. Feel free to review last week’s Checkdown to see what players we were high on, including the top scoring Running Back, Nick Chubb… at extremely low ownership! Let’s get right back to it for the Week Five Checkdown for your NFL DFS Cash Games.

I wanted to start something new this week to quickly point out what I believe to be the “optimal” roster build for NFL DFS Cash Games. I’ll include this in all the Checkdown articles moving forward. For Week Five, please see below for my notes on roster construction:

  • I don’t anticipate there being any crazy chalky players that you have to roster in cash games this week. It’s a rather wide open slate.
  • Standard to what I’ve been doing the past couple of weeks, I will be paying down at the quarterback position in Week Five.
  • There is not a whole lot of “value” or “punt” plays at the running back spot like there have been in weeks prior. You’re going to need a top-tier running back (or two) in Week Five NFL DFS Cash Games.
  • Tons of great plays at the wide receiver position – I don’t think you have to focus on any one player here when building your cash lineups.

NFL DFS Cash Games Quarterbacks

  1. Lamar Jackson ($7,100) – At first glance, I had no interest in including Lamar Jackson into this article due to the fact this matchup against the Steelers has an alarmingly low total of ~42 points. To me, that calls for a slow-paced, run-focused gamescript for both teams that we would usually avoid.

Lamar is the most expensive quarterback on the slate but he is also the only quarterback who is averaging 60+ rushing yards a game. Jackson always provides an excellent floor for DFS players.
  2. Tom Brady ($6,500) – The way to beat the Washington Redskins is through the air. Brady should have a top-five fantasy performance in Week Five.
  3. Kyler Murray ($6,300) – I’m not sure either defense can get a stop in the battle of the winless Bengals and Cardinals. Murray should be in line for his biggest fantasy performance to date in what is by far the softest matchup of his young career.
  4. Andy Dalton ($5,700) – We will continue to pick on the Arizona Cardinals’ defense. Dalton is at home, extremely affordable, and is averaging over 40 passing attempts per game in Zac Taylor’s offense. Dalton is my favorite quarterback play for NFL DFS Cash Games in Week Five.
  5. Chase Daniel ($4,800) – Mitch Trubisky dislocated his shoulder in Week Four and will not play in London against the Raiders next Sunday. When Daniel entered the game, he looked very in tune with this offense and may have even looked better than Trubisky this season so far. Against the Raiders, I have no problem if you want to use Daniel with this minimal price tag.

NFL DFS Cash Games Running Backs

  1. Christian McCaffrey ($8,800) – Christian McCaffrey is always cash game viable. On paper, this is his hardest matchup of the year, but he appears to be matchup proof.
  2. Dalvin Cook ($8,400) – His usage his beyond belief. No need to talk a lot about Dalvin Cook, he should be the Vikings’ top option on offense against a weak Giants’ team.
  3. Ezekiel Elliott ($8,300) – Elliott is probably going to be the highest owned running back on the slate and for good reason. Green Bay continues to get carved up by opposing running backs and this week they face the best one in the NFL. Keep in mind, Tyron Smith will miss this game, so Elliott’s production is likely going to take a bit of a hit.
  4. David Johnson ($7,500) – David Johnson’s usage in the passing game continues to increase each week (11 targets in Week Four and 99 yards receiving) and the Cincinatti Bengals are allowing the 3rd most receptions per game to opposing running backs. At this point, David Johnson is a fantasy wide receiver who also gets carries in the red-zone. He is a very valuable fantasy asset in PPR formats like DraftKings.
  5. Le’Veon Bell ($6,800) – Do the Jets have any other offensive weapons? The Philadelphia run defense has been very respectable but with the lack of other playmakers in New York, Le’Veon Bell should be a lock for 25+ touches in Week Five. At the price, I’m quite interested in Le’Veon Bell for cash games.
  6. Joe Mixon ($6,100) – Excellent price. Excellent matchup. I love picking on all aspects of the Arizona Cardinals’ defense. I know on DraftKings you’ll see the scary red font showing “OPRK 8th“, but this is 100% a matchup DFS players should take advantage of. Arizona simply cannot stop the run.

My early projections are finally calling for a 20-touch game by Joe Mixon – he will feast against a defense that has given up 268 rushing yards and two scores to opposing running backs over the past two weeks.
  7. Aaron Jones ($5,900) – Dallas has been tough against the run but they are allowing an average of over six receptions per game to opposing running backs. Assuming Jamaal Williams misses this game (due to injury in Week Four), Aaron Jones is in line for a heavy workload both running and receiving. He’s a nice value play that I don’t think many DFS players will be on this week.
  8. Chris Thompson ($4,600) – Chris Thompson has gotten to double digit DraftKings points in every game this season and he has yet to find the end-zone. We don’t have to go crazy with any analysis of Chris Thompson here. Washington is going to be at least a 15-point underdog in Week Five against New England. The Redskins will be playing from behind for the majority (if not all) of this game and that will lead to a 60%+ offensive snap count for Thompson. He looks to be the only true “pay-down” spot at the running back position for Week Five NFL DFS Cash Games.

Wide Receivers

  1. DeAndre Hopkins ($7,800) – Hopkins is absolutely due for a blowup performance as he hasn’t topped 70 receiving yards since Week One. Vegas is showing a total of 49 points for this matchup against the Falcons – which is currently the highest on the board. Houston is at home and has to right the ship here against a beat-up Atlanta secondary that was just destroyed at home by Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans. Hopkins will get back to form in Week Five.
  2. Chris Godwin ($6,900) – I’m not even going to touch on the career day Godwin just had against the Rams. Godwin will see Saints’ Cornerback, P.J. Williams for most of the day on Sunday and that is all you need to know. His price is high, but his matchup against Williams is ELITE.
  3. Adam Thielen ($6,700) – May have the best matchup in the write-up against a putrid Giants’ secondary. He will see a lot of DeAndre Baker (who may be the worst corner in the NFL), but I’d rather see Thielen go back to the slot more often (where he has done the most damage throughout his career). Regardless, this is a great spot for Thielen.
  4. Michael Thomas ($6,600) – Chris Godwin is more expensive than Michael Thomas? If you would have told me that at any time this year Godwin’s price would be higher than Thomas’, I would say that you lost your mind – Yet, here we are. With or without Drew Brees, Thomas continues to provide a high floor for DFS players and everyone is destroying the Tampa Bay secondary, so play Thomas with confidence.
  5. Tyler Boyd ($6,500) – If we love Andy Dalton this week, we obviously love his top option in the passing game who is seeing 10+ targets on a weekly basis. Boyd should have his way with this Arizona secondary.
  6. Allen Robinson ($5,600) – When re-watching the Bears Week Four game against the Vikings, it was clear to me that Chase Daniel trusts Allen Robinson over any other pass catcher on the team. Daniel seemed to have tunnel vision towards Allen Robinson on 75% of the routes he ran and was his first read anytime Daniel and the Bears needed to move the ball via the pass.

Robinson and Daniel should have a lot of fun together in London against a Raiders’ secondary who really struggles against top-tier wide receivers like Allen Robinson.
  7. Courtland Sutton ($4,900) – Sutton is one of my favorite wide receivers in the NFL. He is quietly putting together a helluva season and should continue to make plays in Week Five, despite having an inept quarterback like Joe Flacco. Sutton is responsible for over a 20% target share in the Broncos’ passing attack and leads the team in air yards by a significant margin.

Courtland Sutton is an excellent route runner, he catches everything, and he happens to be leading the NFL in passing yards per attempt in their last three games (since Drew Brees got injured). If you have to save salary to roster more top-tier players elsewhere, I don’t think Ginn will kill your chances at crossing the pay-line, but I’d advise you to just stick with Sanu for your low-priced wideout in NFL DFS Cash Games.

Tight Ends

  1. Zach Ertz ($6,000) – He is the only tight end on the slate that is guaranteed to see 10+ targets and his price is affordable if you use some of the value options mentioned above.
  2. Evan Engram ($5,800) – I know that most of his production is inflated by that long touchdown he had in Week Three at Tampa Bay, but Evan Engram is the best receiving option Daniel Jones has to throw to. For some reason, I think the Vikings get back on track this week and put up points at will against this Giants’ so-called defense (although I’m not confident enough to include any Vikings pass catchers in this write-up, but having said that, Diggs and Thielen are definitely in play for me this week).

If the Vikings get back into form, the Giants will be chasing points early and Gallman will get shut down. If that happens, the Giants will have to rely on Evan Engram to anchor this passing attack.
  3. Darren Waller ($5,000) – Incredible price for the best receiver on the Raiders’ offense (sorry to those who love Tyrell Williams). It looks like the floor of 10+ points will be there week in, week out for Waller. Continue to put Waller in your DFS lineups with confidence. This is not an ideal matchup for Waller, but the price warrants him to be considered in cash builds.
  4. Mark Andrews ($4,800) – I mentioned earlier my concerns with the anticipated gamescript for this Ravens @ Steelers game, but my Mark Andrews faith is still in tact. Lamar Jackson loves throwing his way in the red-zone and I love Andrews’ chances of getting in the end-zone yet again in Week Five.

Andrews has never played more than 55% of the offensive snaps for Baltimore, but when he is out there, he is running routes. Andrews is currently leading the Ravens is targets so we do not need to panic on the lack of snaps.
  5. Austin Hooper ($4,500) – No one is talking about Hooper, but we have to start considering him in DFS. Offensive Coordinator, Dirk Koetter made in known prior to this season that he loves to get his tight ends involved, and that is certainly playing true so far in 2019. Hooper is coming off of two monster performances but faces a Houston defense that has been extremely stingy to opposing tight ends.
  6. O.J. Howard ($3,900) – If you choose to punt at the tight end position, Howard would be my only recommendation, but I don’t advise it.

Defense/Special Teams

  1. New England Patriots ($4,300)
  2. Chicago Bears ($3,800)
  3. Minnesota Vikings ($3,200)
  4. Tennessee Titans ($3,000)
  5. Los Angeles Chargers ($2,700)
  6. Carolina Panthers ($2,500)

Another great week of NFL DFS Cash Games in Week Two! Over 80% of the player field in last week’s Checkdown hit value, including the breakout prediction of Deebo Samuel. Let’s get right back to it for the Week Three Checkdown for your NFL DFS Cash Games.

Sign up NOW for WIN DAILY Premium Gold right here! Projections, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!

My articles will be mainly meant for DraftKings, but you can certainly use this information for other DFS websites.

If you have any questions and would like some further help when building your lineups, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly on Twitter. I’m always available to help NFL DFS players make the most of their investments.

Quarterbacks

  1. Patrick Mahomes ($7,600) – Mahomes is averaging damn near 35 points a week in DFS. If you can find a way to fit him into your lineup at what I still think is a reasonable salary, lock him in.
  2. Lamar Jackson ($7,000) – Lamar Jackson is the only quarterback in the NFL that is off to a hotter start than Patrick Mahomes. In Week Two, the Ravens play Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs… we may see Lamar be asked to play at a higher pace than we have so far. This is going to be the Game of the Week and you’re going to want to get exposure to it in your NFL DFS Cash Games.
  3. Josh Allen ($5,900) – If you need to save some salary at the quarterback position, Josh Allen makes for a fine play. Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers just torched this Bengals’ defense and I expect Allen and company to do the same. His fantasy points are a little too dependent on rushing touchdowns to start the year, but I trust that Allen will hit value again on Sunday.
  4. Kyle Allen ($4,000) Now that Cam Newton has been ruled out, you can lock in Allen to save a TON of salary.
  5. Teddy Bridgewater ($4,700) – An away game in Seattle is not the friendliest of conditions for Teddy Bridgewater to make his first competitive NFL start since 2015 (I do not count the irrelevant start in 2018 once the Saints rested their starters), but the cheap price tag is attractive for NFL DFS Cash Games. Seattle’s defense has been very beatable via the pass, so I see no reason why Teddy Bridgewater can’t get 15+ DFS points and hit value at an incredibly low price point.

Running Backs

  1. Saquon Barkley ($9,100) – He is Saquon Barkley and always is in play in any DFS format if you can afford him.
  2. Christian McCaffrey ($8,700) – Hopefully DFS players are a little shy in rostering McCaffrey in Week Three after that brutal performance last Thursday night. I’ll always use McCaffrey in DFS Cash Games; especially in full-point PPR formats like DraftKings.
  3. Dalvin Cook ($7,800) – Dalvin Cook is currently averaging the second most points per game on DraftKings at the running back position (only trailing Austin Ekeler). Gary Kubiak and the Vikings are clearly committed to running the ball, so keep rostering Dalvin Cook in DFS at a significant discount from guys like Barkley, Elliott, McCaffrey, and Kamara. Dalvin Cook is currently matchup-proof.
  4. Austin Ekeler ($7,200) – Personally, I’m not a believer in Austin Ekeler, but the usage is there through two weeks and the loss of Hunter Henry should certainly benefit his fantasy value. I love this matchup against Houston, as we should be in store for a sneaky shootout.
  5. Aaron Jones ($6,100) – Aaron Jones had a heck of a game last Sunday against the Vikings and should be able to ride that hot performance into another big fantasy performance against the Broncos. The Packers are at home and favored by over a touchdown. That usually bodes well for running backs.
  6. Devonta Freeman ($4,900)
  7. Miles Sanders (3,900) – It was great to see Miles Sanders get a little more involved in the passing attack on Monday night. Sanders has yet to deliver a solid fantasy output, but at this price, I’m willing to bet he has his first double-digit fantasy performance. The Detroit defense has already allowed 13 receptions to opposing running backs and rank in the bottom five in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

Wide Receivers

  1. DeAndre Hopkins ($7,800) – The Chargers do not have the pass defense they had a few years ago. DeAndre Hopkins had one of his worst games in quite some time last week against Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguars. Don’t expect Hopkins to stay quiet two weeks in a row! Hopkins will almost always be my number one choice at receiver for NFL DFS Cash Games.
  2. Julio Jones ($7,300) – You’re going to want one to try your best to roster one of these top-tier wide receivers that are $7,000 or more. Julio is coming off of one of his best games in quite some time and should be able to tear up the Colts’ secondary this Sunday. He is one of the few wide receivers that are a lock for 10 or more targets each week.
  3. Keenan Allen ($7,000) – You’re going to want to get exposure to this Texans @ Chargers game in Week Three. Keenan Allen is my favorite Charger to get exposure to but I wouldn’t blame you if you went with Ekeler instead.
  4. Kenny Golladay ($6,600) – The volume is always there for Golladay and if you pay up at quarterback and running back this week in DFS, you may not have the salary to afford a Hopkins or Julio Jones. Golladay has a nice price and an even better matchup against the Philadelphia secondary that cannot stop a nosebleed.
  5. Tyler Lockett ($6,200) – Great price with an even better matchup against P.J. Williams.
  6. Tyler Boyd ($6,500) – Volume, volume, volume. There isn’t much more to say about Tyler Boyd. While A.J. Green is injured, keep getting shares of Tyler Boyd in NFL DFS Cash Games.
  7. Nelson Agholor ($3,600) – He will be 50% owned in cash games at a ridiculously low price. Hard to avoid Agholor in Week Three.
  8. John Brown ($5,500) – I used to think of John Brown as only a “deep ball threat” but he is much more than that in 2019. The volume has been there on a weekly basis and I don’t anticipate that stopping. John Brown is cash game viable and offers a great ceiling to DFS players… at a great price.
  9. Larry Fitzgerald ($5,100) – The veteran wideout is coming off back-to-back 100 yard games with 11+ targets in each of them. This is probably going to be the norm with Kliff Kingsbury’s air raid offense.
  10. Deebo Samuel ($4,500) – His price went up, but he’s still very affordable. I am a firm believer Samuel is the most talented wideout for the 49ers and will continue to get more targets on a weekly basis.

Tight Ends

  1. Zach Ertz ($5,700) – Zach Ertz under $6,000?
  2. Evan Engram ($5,200) – He’s the best receiver on the Giants that’s not named Saquon Barkley. With 22 targets already on the season, Engram is a cash game lock until further notice.
  3. Mark Andrews ($4,600) – Andrews is a great pivot to get cheap exposure to the Baltimore @ Kansas City shootout.
  4. Greg Olsen ($3,700) – Too cheap in an excellent matchup.

Defense/Special Teams

  1. Dallas Cowboys ($4,300)
  2. Buffalo Bills ($3,400)
  3. Green Bay Packers ($3,400)

Sample Lineup

QB: Kyler Murray

RB: Christian McCaffrey

RB: Devonta Freeman

WR: Keenan Allen

WR: Larry Fitzgerald

WR: Kenny Golladay

TE: Greg Olsen

FLEX: Frank Gore

DST: New England Patriots

Hopefully everyone had a great Week One of their NFL DFS season! If you read last week’s Checkdown, you probably nailed all of your NFL DFS cash games. Out of the 18 skill-position players we targeted, only four of them did not hit value (Nick Chubb, Leonard Fournette, Travis Kelce, and George Kittle).

Quarterbacks

  1. Lamar Jackson ($6,700) – the number one Quarterback of Week One is on the top of my Quarterback model for NFL DFS Cash Games in Week Two. There is no chance Jackson will throw for 300+ yards with five Touchdowns again, but he should have his way with the poor Arizona Defense and if the game stays somewhat close, Lamar Jackson should use the best weapon he has: his legs.
  2. Tom Brady ($6,400) – The Miami Dolphins are awful and Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. With or without Antonio Brown suiting up in Week Two, Brady should have absolutely no issues hitting value for NFL DFS Cash Game players on Sunday (with a respectable salary of only $6,400 on DraftKings).
  3. Josh Allen ($5,300) – if you need to save some salary, Josh Allen is your man in Week Two. The New York Giants’ defense looked inept in Week One and they are a defense we should be picking on. Dak Prescott just torched the Giants for 400+ yards and four touchdowns… Allen is not Dak Prescott, but he should have no issues putting up at least half of the production that Prescott had in Week One, and that’s all we need for Allen to hit value.

Running Backs

  1. Saquon Barkley ($9,200) – We never have to say much about Saquon Barkley. In a cash game format, NFL DFS players want volume and upside. That is the definition of Saquon Barkley. This is a great week to put a lot of focus on paying up for your top running back in DFS (maybe even two).
  2. Alvin Kamara ($8,200) – If you don’t want to pay up for Saquon Barkley, there is no harm in dropping down to Alvin Kamara (who has a very reasonable price tag). In two match-ups against the Rams last season, Kamara tallied 227 all-purpose-yards, 15 receptions, and three total touchdowns! In a PPR format like DraftKings, Kamara is an excellent play for NFL DFS Cash Games in a fast-paced matchup against the Rams.
  3. Mark Ingram ($6,000) – The Baltimore Ravens are a 13-point home favorite against the Arizona Cardinals. Similar to the situation Chris Carson was in in Week One, this screams like a positive game-script for Mark Ingram. Lock him in for at least 100 yards and a touchdown.
  4. Devin Singletary ($4,200) – The rookie running back showed it all in his debut on Sunday. Vision, patience, ability, speed, awareness, etc. You name it, Singletary showed it. The Bills’ RB finished Week One with a 70% snap count and I’m confident that will rise a bit more in Week Two. Singletary is going to be a special running back in the NFL someday (probably sooner than later).
  5. Austin Ekeler ($6,100) – What a monster performance by Austin Ekeler in Week One! As long as Melvin Gordon is out of the picture in Los Angeles, Ekeler is going to remain heavily active in the Chargers’ offense (both the running and passing attacks). At this price, Ekeler is a borderline must-play in NFL DFS Cash Games.
  6. Matt Breida ($5,200) – I don’t love the price, but Tevin Coleman is going to miss a few weeks for the 49ers, so this should be Breida’s job to lose until further notice. I’m sure we’ll see Mostert take 25-35% of the snaps at running back, but everything else should go through Breida. The 49ers are not the Seahawks, but they should be able to run the ball with success on Sunday, similar to how Chris Carson and the Seahawks ran it in Week One.
  7. Chris Thompson ($3,700) – Despite what we saw early Sunday in Week One, this Redskins’ team is going to be trailing in most games this year. Starting running back Derrius Guice is going to miss a few weeks of game action, and assuming the Redskins are playing from behind a lot, Chris Thompson will be incredibly busy in this offense. I love this price point in Week Two as Thompson is in a perfect spot against Dallas for any DFS player looking for salary relief.

Wide Receivers

  1. DeAndre Hopkins ($8,100) – I don’t know about you, but I certainly missed having the option to roster consistent Top 10 target leaders, DeAndre Hopkins or Michael Thomas in Week One DFS. I’m leaning Thomas here in the WR One slot, but don’t be shy to play Hopkins against the Jaguars.
  2. Michael Thomas ($8,000) – See above.
  3. Keenan Allen ($7,600) – Hardly anyone played Keenan Allen in Week One DFS, and I cannot understand why. All Keenan Allen does is show up and get 10-plus targets. If you can’t pay up for Hopkins or Thomas, Keenan Allen is a solid option for your number one receiver in NFL DFS Cash Games this week.
  4. Tyrell Williams ($4,400) – He is a free square playing in what should be a very positive game script for the Oakland passing attack. Play him.
  5. Tyler Boyd ($6,500) – Volume. I do not love his upside, but he is going to continue to get 10 or more targets in every game until A.J. Green returns.
  6. Danny Amendola ($3,900) – This dude just had 13 targets from Matthew Stafford in the overtime tie against the Arizona Cardinals. Yes, the targets are eye-popping, but what really impressed me was the way Amendola ran his routes. He’s not that fast, but he was constantly creating separation from defenders. This Chargers and Lions game has the ability to shoot out, so Amendola should be a lock for another eight or more targets. This is a great value for NFL DFS Cash Games.
  7. Cooper Kupp ($6,000) – Cooper Kupp is back. I was a little skeptical about all of the reports that were saying Kupp was healthier than ever in camp this summer, but he made me a believer last Sunday. We all know Jared Goff loved to pepper Kupp with targets last season and it appeared that the two were making up for lost time right away in Week One against the Panthers. Kupp should see eight or more targets every time he suits up for a Jared Goff led Rams’ team.
  8. Deebo Samuel ($3,700) – The 49ers “number one” receiver, Dante Pettis, played two snaps in Week One… TWO! Deebo is clearly their most talented wideout and it is only a matter of time before his price increases significantly. Buy in now while it’s cheap.
  9. Dede Westbrook ($5,400) – I’m not in love with the play, but he’s rather affordable and will continue to see seven plus targets for Jacksonville in what should be a play-from-behind game script against the Texans.
  10. Cole Beasley ($3,800) – Nothing sexy here. If you want a cheap guy that will bring you eight to twelve points, Beasley is your man.

Tight Ends

  1. Travis Kelce ($7,300) – Thanks to Patrick Mahomes’ brilliant idea to throw a no-look pass to Kelce when he was wide open in the corner of the end-zone, Kelce did not hit Cash Game value for us in Week One. As long as he is under $7,500, I’ll always have Kelce as my number one tight end in NFL DFS Cash Games.
  2. George Kittle ($6,800) – Kittle was a mismatch nightmare for Tampa Bay all day in Week One. The 49ers’ tight end had ten targets on Sunday and should be the main feature of the 49ers offense for quite some time. I have him projected for 12 targets in this Week Two matchup against the Bengals.
  3. Evan Engram ($5,200) – Engram is more of a wide receiver than he is a tight end, and at this price, that is something DFS players will continue to take advantage of. Engram finished second on the Sunday slate with 14 targets and will continue to receive the majority of Eli’s attention in the pass game.
  4. T.J. Hockenson ($3,000) – Just take advantage of DraftKings making the Week Two pricing before Hockenson dominated the Arizona defense. This kid is special.
  5. Darren Waller ($3,300) – See the write-up above for Tyrell Williams. You’re going to want to get someone in the Oakland passing game as they are pretty much free to roster. Waller had an excellent showing on Monday Night and should continue to be a focus of Derek Carr’s.

Defense/Special Teams

  1. Denver Broncos ($2,700) – Unless Matt Nagy completely flips his playbook around from whatever it was he tried to do on Thursday Night Football, Vic Fangio and the Broncos will eat this Bears’ offense up.
  2. Baltimore Ravens ($3,800) – Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals offense did not impress me, whatsoever. The Ravens’ will destroy what could be the worst offensive line in the NFL.
  3. New England Patriots ($3,700) – They’re playing the Miami Dolphins.
  4. Chicago Bears ($3,900) – I have a feeling the Bears’ defense will be very chalky in Week Two, so tread lightly. There are concerns that this defense is not nearly in good enough shape early in the season to go play in the Denver altitude. They always have incredible upside though, so I had to mention them here.

RB: Saquon Barkley

RB: Alvin Kamara

WR: Keenan Allen

WR: Tyrell Williams

WR: Dede Westbrook

Week One of the football season is finally here! It’s time to start building your NFL DFS cash games (also known as 50/50s) lineups and building up your DFS bankroll. For those of you that do not know what a cash game really means, here is an excellent read from Picks.org to help explain the basics of the different styles of DFS tournaments: https://www.picks.org/daily-fantasy-sports/dfs-cash-games-vs-tournaments

Sign up NOW for WIN DAILY Premium Gold right here! Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!

If you’re just now getting into the Daily Fantasy game, I would highly suggest utilizing at least 70% of your bankroll for cash game usage and the other 30% for GPP’s and Qualifiers. The art of building a lineup for NFL DFS cash games is entirely different than a GPP lineup build, so please be aware that these DFS cash game plays are not always recommended for GPP’s.

My articles will be mainly meant for DraftKings, but you can certainly use this information for other DFS websites.

If you have any questions and would like some further help when building your lineups, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly on Twitter. I’m always available to help DFS players make the most of their investments! Enough talking, let’s get to the plays for Week One NFL DFS cash games.

Quarterbacks

  1. Jacoby Brissett ($4,400) – Brissett is simply way too cheap on all DFS formats (thanks to Andrew Luck’s out-of-nowhere retirement). The Los Angeles Chargers’ defense does not impress me on paper at the moment and Brissett is plenty skilled to start his season on the right track with a healthy wide receiving corps. For his price, I’m 100% lock-buttoning Brissett as my Quarterback in NFL DFS cash games for Week One.
  2. Kirk Cousins ($5,500) – I’m not quite sure why Cousins’ price is so low this week, but if you don’t trust Jacoby Brissett, Kirk Cousins would be my next best cash game QB play. Rostering Jacoby Brissett or Kirk Cousins offers up a lot of salary relief to afford studs at the running back and wide receiver positions. Do we even need to mention how much the Falcons struggled on defense last year? Cousins is at home on Sunday and should have no problem hitting value for cash game players.
  3. Lamar Jackson ($6,000) – Lamar Jackson is the definition of a high-floor DFS Quarterback in his Week One matchup against a very suspect Miami Dolphins’ defense. Once Jackson was named the starting Quarterback in Baltimore last season, he averaged a ridiculous 79 rushing yards per game! Assuming he can pass for at least 180 yards and a touchdown, his legs will make up for the below average passing numbers. Lamar Jackson makes an excellent play for Week One NFL DFS cash games.

Running Backs

  1. Saquon Barkley ($9,000) – arguably the best player in fantasy football… Barkley is incredibly valuable in a DFS cash game at this price in a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys’ defense is going to be stout all season long, but Barkley’s volume is probably going to be second-to-none in 2019 (thanks to Todd Gurley not being 100% healthy anymore). I don’t expect Barkley to have a monster game in Week One, but he will get 30+ touches, which is really all I need to be confident in rostering Barkley in cash games.
  2. Tony Pollard ($4,500) – just like Brissett at QB, Pollard is just too cheap to avoid when building lineups for your Week One NFL DFS cash games. Assuming Ezekiel Elliott does not sign a contract and suit-up on Sunday, Pollard is going to be a lock-button for me. He allows so much salary relief that you can utilize elsewhere. Lock him in (if Elliott is out)! UPDATE: Ezekiel Elliott has now signed with the Cowboys and is reporting to practice. I do not have a good grasp on how many snaps Elliott will play this week, so I am leaving him off my player pool for NFL DFS cash games this week.
  3. Christian McCaffrey ($8,800) – we all know how much of a stud McCaffrey is. Regardless of the matchup, I project his volume is second to only Saquon Barkley. If you don’t like Barkley as your number one running back, plug-in McCaffrey with confidence (maybe even use both, if you can afford it).
  4. Dalvin Cook ($6,000) – he is simply way too cheap for an elite, three-down starting running back. Dalvin Cook is finally 100% healthy and should be primed up for a big game against the Falcons. Please note, I do not advise using both Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook in the same lineup for your NFL DFS cash games (I never like to stack the passing and running game for a 50/50 style of DFS tournament).
  5. Chris Carson ($5,700) – the Seattle Seahawks are currently a 10-point favorite at home this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. That screams 22+ touches for Chris Carson (and probably a touchdown or two). I love getting shares of Chris Carson this week, especially in cash games.
  6. Nick Chubb ($6,400) – similar to Carson, I expect Cleveland running back Nick Chubb, to be quite busy on Sunday at home against the Titans. I do not love his price in comparison to Carson and Cook, so I’m not building many lineups with Nick Chubb in them at the moment. Regardless, he is absolutely a safe play with a high floor and maybe an even higher ceiling. There are a lot of mouths to feed in Cleveland this season, but Chubb should still be their number one option on offense.
  7. Leonard Fournette ($6,100) – Fournette obviously comes with a lot of risk. You never know when he’s going to re-injure that ankle and head to the locker room, but when he’s on the field, he is going to be productive (especially against a Chiefs’ defense that will struggle to get stops). I don’t love Fournette in cash games, but he will be on the field for all three downs and heavily active in both the running and passing games. This is an excellent spot for a 150 all purpose yard game, with a touchdown or two.

Wide Receivers

  1. Chris Godwin ($6,200) – I hate that Chris Godwin is my number one play at the wide receiver position for Week One DFS cash games, but his price is great and the matchup is even better. This San Francisco/Tampa Bay game is going to be a shootout, and Godwin will have a hefty role in that. As long as Jameis Winston is competent, Godwin should be in-store for a solid season opener.
  2. Stefon Diggs ($6,700) – Diggs is better than Adam Thielen, sorry. We have mentioned multiple times that the Atlanta Falcons’ defense is a good one to target in DFS this week, so why not use arguably the best route runner in the NFL, who also happens to be Kirk Cousins’ favorite target in the red-zone? I have Diggs projected for six catches, 110 receiving yards, and a score. I have no problem if you’d rather use Diggs over the chalky Chris Godwin… I may even prefer it. Hamstring injury concerns.
  3. Kenny Golladay ($6,300) – Volume, Volume, Volume. Matt Stafford absolutely peppers Golladay with targets when he needs to pass the ball and with a depleted Arizona secondary, the Lions should pass it often on Sunday. Golladay should line up all over the field and take advantage of a cakewalk matchup. Better yet, Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson, is starting the season off with a suspension. There is absolutely no reason to fade Golladay in Week One.
  4. Keenan Allen ($7,300) – Similar to Golladay, we all know how much Phil Rivers trusts Keenan Allen. This WR is PPR gold and I have him projected for eight catches for 115 yards. He is an excellent cash game and GPP play this week, and it doesn’t appear that many others in the industry are even considering rostering him this week.
  5. Dede Westbrook ($4,800) – we need to save money again in at least one wide receiver spot. Westbrook is my number one choice for salary savings at the wide receiver position in my lineups for NFL DFS cash games. He has already built excellent chemistry in the preseason with new Quarterback Nick Foles. Assuming this game shoots out, Foles is going to look to Westbrook early and often in hopes that they can keep up with the prolific Kansas City Chiefs’ offense.
  6. Cole Beasley ($3,600) – there is nothing sexy about rostering Cole Beasley in DFS, but he is damn-near free to plug into your cash game lineup. Josh Allen has been targeting Beasley in the middle of the field all preseason, and that should carry into Sunday when the Bills open their season up in New York against the Jets. All you need out of Beasley is five or more catches for 60-75 yards receiving for him to hit value.

Tight Ends

  1. Travis Kelce ($7,100) – I don’t have to say much about Travis Kelce… he offers DFS players the highest floor at the tight end position and the highest ceiling. If you can afford him, lock him in.
  2. George Kittle ($6,100) – get exposure to this Tampa Bay/San Francisco game! The receiving corps for the 49ers is rather banged up right now so Kittle is going to be incredibly active in the passing game in what should be a high-scoring affair on Sunday afternoon. I love getting shares of Kittle this week. I have Kelce projected slightly higher, but for the $1,000 discount, you cannot go wrong with Kittle, who I have projected as the number two tight-end on the slate (and no, I did not forget about Zach Ertz).
  3. Evan Engram ($4,800) – I do not love this play, but someone other than Saquon Barkley has to produce on Sunday… Engram will be that guy. His price is solid, but not great. If you use Saquon, don’t use Engram in your cash game lineup.
  4. Hunter Henry ($3,900) – How is he only $3,900? If you need to pay down at the tight-end position, Hunter Henry is your guy.

Defense/Special Teams

I simply play who I can afford and who I think is in a somewhat positive matchup in regards to acquiring fantasy points. These plays are not in any order of preference, just price (high-to-low).

  • Baltimore Ravens ($3,800)
  • Philadelphia Eagles ($3,600)
  • Dallas Cowboys ($3,500)
  • Cleveland Browns ($3,400)
  • Seattle Seahawks ($3,100)
  • Carolina Panthers & Miami Dolphins ($2,100)

An almost full 14-game MLB DFS slate for the last Tuesday in July.

Catcher

We will be talking about this game more in the stacking section below but Coors Field looks like a prime place for MLB DFS bats tonight. Especially on the Dodgers side, as Kyle Freeland takes the hill for the Rockies. Freeland has been historically bad this season, with a WHIP of 1.58 and an ERA of 7.00 through 71 innings. Will Smith ($3,300 FD, $4,500 DK) not only gets the platoon split but also gets the advantage of not being well known by opposing pitching staffs.

First Base

Edwin Encarnacion, Diamondbacks at Yankees ($4,300 FD, $5,300 DK) has been hitting the ball very hard recently. I saw him hit a single off the Green Monster so hard Sunday night that he was almost thrown out at first base. Seriously though, this matchup against Taylor Clarke is a great one. Clarke has given up 11 HRs over his last seven starts.

Win Daily offers several membership options including a free membership and Premium Gold. Both are available for different prices and lengths. Our most popular option is our Gold Monthly recurring subscription. You can also purchase a weekly or yearly subscription.

Second Base

Ryan McMahon, Dodgers at Rockies ($3,400 FD, $4,800 DK): McMahon, not Story, Arenado or Blackmon, has been swinging the best Rockies bat since the All-Star Break. Wait a minute, lefty on lefty matchup against Julio Urias doesn’t scare you in MLB DFS? Simply put it does not. McMahon has five HRs in less than 100 official ABs vs lefties this year and has a .780 OPS. His OPS against righties you ask? A remarkably similar .780.

If you already have a free registered membership, we suggest upgrading to our Premium Gold monthly membership plan for regular access to MLB Weather Reports.

Shortstop:

Let’s go back to Coors Field for Corey Seager ($3,600 FD, $5,100 DK). Yes I know it is another lefty-lefty matchup but let me ask you: how long do you expect Freeland to be around? Take the discount, especially on FD, and be thankful you get such a quality bat at a discount at Coors.

Third Base:

Eugenio Suarez, Pirates at Reds ($3,600 FD, $5,200 DK): Another guy I had to keep scrolling down for to find on FD (that means he is a bargain!), Suarez has been hitting everyone since the All-Star Break. He is thriving at home, which is an extreme hitter’s environment, and against Joe Musgrove and the weak Pittsburgh bullpen, he must be salivating. You should be too, in MLB DFS.

Outfield:

J.D. Martinez, Rays at Red Sox ($4,300 FD, $4,600 DK), Cody Bellinger. Dodgers at Rockies ($4,900 FD, $5,900 DK) and Joc Pederson ($4,100 and first base??? on FD, $5,100 DK) are the three outfielders I am highlighting. J.D. is about as hot as any hitter in MLB DFS right now and the other two are at Coors on the wrong side of a platoon. However, I do not expect that to last long and they can hit Freeland anyway.

MLB DFS Stacks

  1. Dodgers: At Coors against the worst pitcher on the slate? What can go wrong?
  2. Angels: Didn’t highlight any batters here but I certainly could have. Someone named Drew VerHagen gets to toss baseballs to them. And then is followed by a bad Tigesr bullpen.
  3. Yankees: Always in play. Tonight they get Taylor Clarke.

There are varying strategies in Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game contests, and we’re going to discuss them here. Whether you are new to DFS NFL or looking for an extra edge, this is your necessary primer.

Sign up NOW for WIN DAILY Premium Gold here. Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more.

Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game Overview

There are multiple different types of Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game types we can choose from. The most known and widely used are 50/50 and double ups but we shouldn’t forget head-to-head. The idea of all of these is that if you finish in the money, you win a fixed amount. If you place 300th out of 1000 you will win the same amount as if you placed first in that contest.

Strategy

When playing an NFL Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game, we are looking to place with a safe lineup as compared to trying to win with a high risk lineup, as in Tournaments. High volume NFL players will normally have high floors. This means that their worst outcome will still garner some decent points. A high risk player will have a high ceiling but a low floor. I will use two WRs as examples here. Julian Edelman is a high floor type player. He will run many short to intermediate routes that will produce consistent yards. An example of a low floor, high ceiling receiver is DeSean Jackson. He is a vertical threat WR who could have three catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns but may also not convert on the low percentage deep balls and could end up with one catch for 20 yards in any given week.

Julian Edelman (2018 Stats: 850 yards, 6 TDs)

Edelman was suspended for the first four games in 2018. Once he was able to find his groove in his fourth game he was ultra consistent. In eight of nine games he racked up 69 receiving yards or more. He also had six double digit target games in that stretch. That is great volume and a great floor. Edelman is the type of WR to target in Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game play.

DeSean Jackson (2018 Stats: 774 yards, 4 TDs)

As you can see, the statitsical gap between these two WRs is not that wide of a margin (76 yards and two TDs) and they both played 12 games. In contrast to Edelman’s consistency, Jackson had eight out of 12 games in which he finished with less than 69 yards. There were also three games in which Jackson finished with 112, 129, and 146. Edelman never broke 105 yards. Jackson is the typical high upside, low floor player we try to avoid in Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game play.

Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game Tips

Look for Volume

As mentioned above, volume often correlates to a high floor. Look for Quarterbacks who will throw 30+ times a game, Running Backs who get 20+ touches, and Wide Receivers/ Tight Ends who get 10+ targets. This is one of the main Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game areas to focus on.

Use Vegas

Las Vegas line makers are incredibly good at what they do. Less points scored will obviously translate to less NFL DFS points. Vegas can also give you a good look into game flow. A team favored by seven or more points will most likely run the ball more in the fourth quarter, creating more volume for the team’s ground and pound running back. If a team is an underdog, you may want to look at that team’s pass catching running back as a high volume option.

High Floor Backups

It seems to happen nearly every week where we get a high profile player who gets hurt/ suspended and needs to sit out. Examples in the past year include Kareem Hunt/Spencer Ware/Damien Williams, Jameis Winston/Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Melvin Gordon/Austin Ekeler. These backups are often low priced and will allow you to roster a high floor, high upside player at other positions.

Watch your Exposure

While there may be a week where we have that great bargain option who should see 20+ touches, we need to watch out for using them too much. If you are someone who will play many lineups a week, try to stay away from near 100% exposure to a player in Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game play. There will be a high volume player who goes down mid-week and creates an opportunity for a “can’t miss” bargain player, who then fumbles and gets in the doghouse. Coaches can also talk up a player, saying they will use them a lot and then give him five touches. These are a couple reasons to not employ a player in multiple lineups you put together, no matter how much of a sure thing it seems to be.

Trust Your Gut

Lastly, Trust you gut! Sometimes numbers can only tell so much and you can only do so much research before putting a Daily Fantasy Sports Cash Game NFL lineup together. Finding the correct plays can sometimes be a gut call. Trust yourself and if you love a player don’t let your friends or the know-it-all co-worker change your mind, especially just minutes before kickoff.
