Cash with Flash Best Bets is fun for me to write and break up the tedium of my full-time job as a professional sports handicapper. I enjoy bringing this daily post to you and Cash with Flash Best Bets attempts to give you the very best betting opportunities that we can find but sometimes it sucks.

They won’t have Victor Oladipo in the lineup for tonight’s tilt but haven’t had him on the floor since January 23, 2019, and still finished as the fourth seed. Cleveland Cavaliers vs Orlando Magic

The Magic frontcourt of Nikola Vucevic,AaronGordon and Jonathan Isaacare much better than anything the Cavaliers can send out on the floor. Bankroll

Think of a unit ascash and a unit is between one and five percent of your total bankroll. This is the mostpopular method and one we’ll sometimes use this season. Tonight’s New OrleansPelicans-Toronto Raptors money line looks like this.

The Raptors are anoverwhelming favorite and it will cost you $290 dollars to win $100 dollars or2.9 units to win one unit. Conversely, a $100 dollar wager on the Pelicans towin this game would net $240 dollars for every $100 dollar bet.

Cashwith Flash Best Bets would suggest avoidingthe Raptors money line wager as the risk is far greater than the reward. We won’tbe playing the Pelicans tonight but if you feel strongly that New Orleans willwin this game, then this is the spot for you.

The Spread Bet

The is the most commonway to bet NBA and NCAA hoops and tonights Pelicans-Raptors point spread lookslike this;

New Orleans Pelicans +7

Toronto Raptors -7

The Raptors are laying seven points and they will need to win the game by at least seven points to take this game. The juice is usually -110 for both sides of NBA spread bets so a wager on either team would cost you $110 dollars to win $100. Cash with Flash Best Bets suggests playing the Raptors to “cover” or win by seven or more points because we feel this is the most likely outcome but if you feel strongly this game ends closer than seven points than by all means plunk down $110 dollars and play the Pelicans at +7.

Mostonline books offer opportunities to buy points on the spread and it will looksomething like this.

If youfeel New Orleans can cover +1.5 points, a $100 dollar wager will net $205dollars and as the Pelicans total climbs, the odds go down considerably. TheRaptors being heavily favored will cost $280 dollars and the value rises as thenumber increases.

A generalrule of thumb is to take the Vegas total and bet as close to that number as youcan, based on who you think will win and how much that team wins the game by. Cashwith the Flash Best Bets likes the Raptors to win by seven points andif we were to suggest anything here, and we’re not, but IF we were, we wouldlay down $100 dollars that Toronto would win by nine points tonight.

First Half

Mostshops also offer opportunities to bet on who will win the first half and thatwill look something like this;

The lines and subsequent payouts for this game aren’t all that great but if you believe the Pelicans will head to the locker room with a three-point lead or better, a $100 wager will net $105 dollars and anything above this will cost you more to win less. Wagering $100 dollars that Toronto has a halftime lead of 4.5 points or more will win $105 dollars and anything less than three points will cost $135 dollars to win $100.

The Total

This hasbecome a popular bet, especially in NCAA basketball. Vegas will drop a numberthat reflects what they believe the final combined points total will be and wedecide if the game ends over or under their number. Tonight’s Pelicans-Raptorsgame Total Line looks like this.

Over 231 (-115)

Under 231 (-105)

Cash with Flash Best Bets suggests playing UNDER 231 points as it opened at 227.5 points and jumped to 231.5 points and most Vegas shops offer 231 points. You will need to wager $105 dollars to win $100 and if you think these teams will exceed the total, then wager $115 dollars and play OVER 231 points.

As you can see, the payouts on the above are much better but require us to be more specific in the points range of the total. Anything UNDER 229 points is going to provide the most value as will anything OVER 233.5 points, but you must be exact and will really test your NBA handicapping skills. First Half Totals

Mostshops also offer opportunities to bet on the first half total and that willlook something like this;

They giveus two numbers to shoot at and the most value is UNDER 112.5 points and OVER119.5 points and it works the same as any other totals wager. Team Prop Bets

There are all sorts of options to choose from and the payoutscan be hefty. A $100 dollar wager on the Pelicans winning by 21 points or more willpocket $4000 so you can see the allure here.

Parlays and Teasers

Cash with Flash Best Bets usually avoids these types of plays because of the risk involved. A parlay is a group of two or more bets (legs) and all bets must-win for the ticket to pay off. The more bets on the ticket, the more unlikely the ticket will pay off. Have a look at the odds on these wagers;
