NHL DFS Between the Benches for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 31)

We’re back with a new Sunday Night Win Daily NHL Article! I love seeing the high activity in the discord chat and the winning screenshots that have been posted lately, especially after the last Between the Benches article! Let’s continue our positive trend tonight. We have a small 4-gamer for tonight’s slate. So, let’s get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 10/31 NHL slate, the slate begins at 4:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

10/31 NHL Stack Report

  1. New York Rangers Power Play 1
    Panarin – Zibanejad – Fox (FanDuel: $22,300 | DraftKings: $21,700)
CASH LOCK: This is the top line on the slate and theyre not even really a complete line. I know, it doesnt make a lot of sense but these three are absolute savages and have far and away the best matchup of the slate against the expansion Seattle Kraken. As of late, Chris Kreider (also on this top power play, salary saving substitute for Panarin) has seen most of the Rangers goal scoring but the three members of this top of this line have kept up with Kreider on points through their assists and have all outpaced him in average ice time. Over the past two seasons we saw what these three were truly capable of as last season Panarin finished top 15 in the scoring race (finishing fourth the year before), while Zibanejad finished top 15 in total league goals (finishing fifth the year before). Adam Fox took home Norris Trophy honours as the best defenseman in the league finishing second in defenseman scoring behind Tyson Barrie. When it comes to this slate, there are not a lot of other top performing options meaning in cash games you will need these three to keep up with the rest of the pack. For cash games they are the main line of the slate.
  2. Buffalo Sabres 2
    Asplund – Thompson – Olofsson (FanDuel: $13,800 | DraftKings: $15,200)
This line just cant be stopped. On top of the fact that they are up against a lacklustre defense (their top defenseman Drew Doughty is injured) with an aging goalie, this line has produced tremendous numbers and have been largely responsible for Buffalo’s surprising run of form. Led by Victor Olofsson (2 G and 2 A in last two games, point per game this season), this line has ended up seeing the lion’s share of playing time while also coming together on Buffalo’s top line power play. This line also provides some needed salary relief considering how costly the top line of this article is. Buffalo is also coming into tonight really fresh with their last game taking place on the 28th compared to the LA Kings who are on the second half of a back to back. (Which is why Quick is playing in the first place)
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Rasmus Dahlin (FD: $4,600 | DK: $5,300)

    Honorable Mention(s): LAK1 (Brown/Kopitar/Arvidsson), CBJ2 (Bjorkstrand/Roslovic/ G. Hofmann)

10/31 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Igor Shesterkin (FD: $8,000 | DK: $7,700)
  2. Elvis Merzlikins (FD: $7,400 | DK: $7,500)
    Honorable Mention(s): Dustin Tokarski

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Scott Wedgewood (FD: $6,800 | DK: $7,900)
    Honorable Mention(s): Philipp Grubauer

10/31 NHL Wild Card Targets

Anaheim Ducks 1 (FD: $13,100 | DK: $14,900)
Usually, I’d have a player in this section but today is a little different as Anaheim’s top line is coming into this slate on absolute fire and rather than listing them off individually as wild cards, I figured it would make more sense to group them in their line. The risk factor is that their pace is so high that it’s hard to tell when or if they will see any regression. For example, Troy Terry has notched points in his last seven games while his linemates (Ryan Getzlaf, Adam Henrique) have produced similar numbers with a little less consistency. This line is extremely affordable and the Ducks are up against a Montreal side who have really had trouble finding their footing to start the season, while their goalie Jake Allen is plagued with inconsistency issues. Getzlaf and Terry play on Anaheim’s top power-play unit while Henrique is on the second power-play unit. The best defenseman to stack this line with is Kevin Shattenkirk.
Honorable Mention(s): Mike Hoffman, Josh Anderson, Hayden Fleury, Ryan Graves (FanDuel)

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Mika Zibanejad

Winger Victor Olofsson

Defence Dougie Hamilton

Goalie Igor Shesterkin
