Week 9 NFL DFS

Here are Scott Engel’s favorite value and punt plays at each position for NFL DFS Week 11. As a weekly nod to punting, we also salute some of the greatest punters of all time by featuring their photos. This week’s featured punter is Andy Lee.

NFL DFS Week11 QB Values and Punts

Tom Brady($6,400 On DraftKings): The recent addition of Mohamed Sanu further bolsters the NewEngland passing game. The Patriots may also get into scoring position enoughfor the GOAT to get in one of his QB sneaks. Yup, I called him “The Greatest”and I am not a New England fan, either.

KylerMurray ($6,100): This a contrarian play, but Murray will have very low ownership, and he is not afraid of the 49ers, as he started to puncture their reputationin Week 9 before Seattle took them down. He scored 23.04 points vs. the Ninersin the first meeting and is a gusty contrarian play and a dual threat.

KyleAllen ($5,300): The popular QB play of the week, he is a must in cash games andyou should build around him in some GPP lineups. He threw for over 300 yards inadverse conditions at Lambeau Field last week and now draws the Falcons.

NFL DFSWeek 11 RB Values and Punts

TevinColeman ($6,100): He has cooled off recently but is set for a rebound week againstArizona’s 24th-ranked run defense. The Niners need to get Colemanrolling again to put the Seattle loss behind them.

Devin Singletary($6,000):Ride the emotion and the matchup here. Singletary makes his first appearance asan NFL player in front of his hometown supporters in Miami.

BrianHill ($4,800): He has scored in each of his past two games and should assume ahealthy workload. The Panthers allow the fourth-most Fantasy Points Per game toRBs. He’s the obvious salary saver of the week.

MilesSanders ($4,100): This goes against every indicator that suggests New Englanddominance this week. But I am a big fan of this dynamic rookie and he may havea breakout game against a formidable opponent, impressing everyone.

RaheemMostert ($3.400): He should be good to go despite a minor knee issue, and Mostertcan score from anywhere on the field when asked to play a larger role. He mayshine in place of Matt Breida this week. If for any reason he is not available orlimited, pivot to Jeff Wilson Jr. for $100 less.

NFL DFS Week 11 WR Values and Punts

MichaelGallup ($6,500): Gallup has started to show signs of re-emergence recently, and Ilike him to drop more than one big gainer on the Lions secondary while alsofinding the end zone.

D,J,Moore ($5,900): This one is just too easy against the Atlanta secondary. Moore isthe DFS WR lock of the week. WR partner Curtis Samuel is right behind Moore asa must-play at $5,300.

JamisonCrowder ($5,700): The Revenge Game theory can work when the player involved isperforming well. Crowder will impose his emotional will on the Redskins.

TerryMcLaurin ($5,600): This is the week he starts clicking with former college teammateDwayne Haskins against the AFC team that allows the most FFPG to WRs.

MohamedSanu ($5,100): Had a very good game in Week 9 and has solved the Patriots WR2problem. Gotta love the draw against Philly.

RandallCobb ($4,300): Enjoyed his best game as a Cowboy last week and could ride themomentum against the Detroit pass defense.

Deebo Samuel($4,000):Will have to play a premier role in the 49ers passing game against theCardinals. Will be widely owned but you should still use him in GPPs and getcreative around him with other top guys you can afford because of his value.

AndyIsabella ($3,500): He burned the Niners for an 88-yard TD in Week 9. He caught a55-yarder last week.

NFL DFSWeek 11 Tight End Values and Punts

T.J.Hockenson ($3,600): Dallas is third-worst in FFPG allowed to TEs.

Ryan Griffin($2,900):He provided two quality performances before disappearing last week, and it’sworth a flier to see if bounces back.

NFL DFSWeek 11 Defensive Values and Punts

Denver ($2,400): I am expecting a low-scoring game with Minnesota and the Kirk Cousins dud that pops up here and there.

Arizona ($1,500): The 49ers offense could be less potent without Kittle and Sanders. Arizona is one behind San Francisco for the most forced fumbles with 13. The Cards are worth a try in a divisional game, which could always feature some stretches of struggle

Here are Scott Engel’s favorite value and punt plays at each position for NFL DFS Week 10. As a weekly nod to punting, we also salute some of the greatest punters of all time by featuring their photos. This week’s featured punter is Dave Jennings.

NFL DFS Week 10 QB Values and Punts

Kyler Murray vs. TB ($6,500 on DraftKings): This is astrong cash game play against the team that allows the most Fantasy Points Pergame to opposing QBs. He will also save you a bit of money in GPPs. Murray performedrespectably against San Francisco last week and now gets a prime draw.

Daniel Jones vs. NYJ ($5,700): Both QBs are worthusing in this game, as Sam Darnold is just $100 more. But I will take Jonesbecause of his added mobility. Plus, when Darnold did not perform too wellagainst Miami, I lost confidence that he could take advantage of a friendlymatchup.Jones threw for 322 yards and four TDs against Detroit twoweeks ago.

Ryan Tannehill vs. KC ($5,100): The Chiefs passdefense is not as awful as advertised, Kansas City ranks 11th. ButTannehill has his best supporting cast ever and has been known to deliver theoccasional impressive statistical outing.

NFL DFS Week 10 RB Values and Punts

Derrick Henry vs. KC ($6,400): He has eight total TDsand is a threat to rip off a big run or take a screen pass for a long gain atany time. The Chiefs allow the third-most FFPG to RBs.

David Montgomery vs. DET ($5,300): The price has not caughtup to his recent performances yet. He will be a popular play against the Lions, who allow the most FFPG to RBs.

Devin Singletary vs. CLE ($5,000): This is the samesituation as Montgomery. The Browns allow the fifth-most FFPG to RBs.

Ronald Jones vs. ARI (4,300): We are going back to himfor the second consecutive week. Bruce Arians indicated Jones will continue to operateas the lead RB after he rushed for 67 yards and a TD at Seattle last week.

Kalen Ballage vs. IND ($3,800): Strictly a GPP play. There is no floor here. He is either going to seize this opportunity or completely flop.

NFL DFS Week 10 WR Values and Punts

Golden Tate vs. NYJ ($5,900): He has totally takencontrol of the Giants WR1 job since returning from a suspension and is a greatplay against the Jets, who allow the third-most FFPG in the AFC to WRs. EvanEngram and Sterling Shepard are out, boosting his appeal and opportunities.Darius Slayton is also worth a GPP play at $4,200.

Zach Pascal vs. MIA ($5,300): An obviously strongplay based on his recent performances, role as the WR1 for the Colts right now,and the matchup.

Christian Kirk vs. TB ($5,200): A widely owned sexyplay of the week.

Jamison Crowder vs. NYG ($5,000): He may be the Jets’best offensive player and the Giants allow the second-most FFPG to WRs. RobbyAnderson is also a GPP target at $4,700.

A.J. Brown vs. KC ($4,300): A really good price for aguy who is Tennessee’s best bet to hit with a big play at WR, and could seeeven more work with Corey Davis out.

Ted Ginn Jr. vs. ATL ($3,700):  Still a big-play threat at age 34, he hasreceptions of 27 or more yards in five of seven games played this year. Theplus matchup is obvious.

James Washington vs. LAR ($3,600): If a toe injurykeeps JuJu Smith-Schuster limited or out of action, Washington may have to playa bigger role in the Pittsburgh offense.

NFL DFS Week 10 TE Values and Punt Plays

Cameron Brate vs. ARI ($3,700): The best TE option onhis squad vs. the notoriously worst team vs. tight ends.

Mike Gesicki vs. IND ($3,100): Ready for a breakoutgame against the AFC’s second-worst team vs. TEs. You don’t need to spend bigat the position this week and he is a quality option.

NFL DFS Week 10 Defense Values and Punt Plays

Chiefs vs. TEN ($2,700): This team is not as bad ondefense as they are believed to be. Kansas City leads the league in sacks with52 and has 15 interceptions. You should take the chance when using multiplelineups.

Steelers vs. LAR ($2,600): Tied for the league leadin sacks with K.C., they will not be widely owned, but may keep the score down withthe Rams. This unit is playing really well ever since the Minkah Fitzpatrick acquisition.

Week9 DFS Tight End Cash Game Plays

Travis Kelce, KC vs. MIN

FD ($6,700)         DK ($6,900)

It’s a stark reality that most TEs just aren’t that reliable in DFS, but Kelce (65 targets, 42-604-2 this season) is about as automatic for 10+ fantasy points as you can get. He’s got only one game this season (9.8 DK points in Week 8 against the Texans) where he didn’t reach that mark – but he was darn close, and he said he was disgusted with his performance vs. Green Bay. The Vikings have a solid defense but are middle of the roads vs. TEs, and even with one more week of Matt Moore under center for the Chiefs, Kelce is one of the two best cash game plays.

DarrenWaller, OAK vs. DET

FD ($6,800)         DK ($6,300)

Waller didn’t have a great week last Sunday (he caught just two of eight targets for 11 yards and a touchdown), a result of constant attention from the Houston defense, though his score salvaged what would have been a DFS disaster. The matchup is much better for Week 9 DFS against a Lions defense that ranks 27th against TEs. Waller is still seeing plentiful targets, so he’s about as safe as it gets for cash games.

Week9 DFS Tight End GPP Plays

Hunter Henry, LAC vs. GB

FD ($6,400)          DK ($6,000)

The Chargers TE is oneof the top GPP plays, as he’s a consensus Top 5 five this week. With 23 targetsover his past three games, Henry is an elite GPP play with multi-TD upsidefacing the Packers.

JimmyGraham, GB at LAC

FD ($6,000)          DK ($4,300)

The veteran TE is a huge bargain on DK but makes for a solid GPP play on both sites. There’s 15-20 point upside, which is actually a pretty high mark this week given the player pool. He’s worth a look in Week 9 DFS because of the matchup and his QB – but Graham’s play this season has been streaky. He’s pretty far down the list in the consensus Week 9 rankings, so his ownership shouldn’t be too high.

GregOlsen, CAR vs. TEN

FD ($5,300)         DK ($3,500)

Olsen had a solid start with two monster games in his first three weeks, but he’s been held scoreless over his past four appearances. He dealt with a back injury in late September, but hasn’t had a designation in a while and is facing a Titans defense that’s yielded plenty of scores to opposing TEs. He’s an under-the-radar GPP play in a decent matchup.

ZachErtz, PHI vs. CHI

FD ($6,000)         DK ($4,700)

The main slate ismissing several of the game’s best TEs due to prime-time affairs or bye weeks,so we’re going to have to take chances in GPPs, and Ertz is a huge risk at themoment – with three straight games scoring fewer than 10 DK points and just oneTD on the season. The price has come down on DK to a point that’s reasonable, and his upside makes me comfortable rolling him out in GPPs – even against theBears.

Week9 DFS Tight End Punt Plays

JonnuSmith, TEN at CAR

FD ($5,500)         DK ($3,800)

With fellow Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) ruled out, Smithdraws another start in Week 9 against the Panthers, and while the matchup istougher than last week, I’m going right back to the well following his 6-78-1 (onseven targets) performance.

EricEbron, IND at PIT

FD ($5,200)         DK ($3,600)

Ebron has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option this season, but he’s in a good spot against the Steelers. He’s mired in a timeshare attight end with Jack Doyle, but has at least three targets in every game this seasonand has scored over 10 DK points in three contests – the three he caught TDpasses in. It’s possible he and Doyle will both get more targets in the comingweeks with T.Y. Hilton slated to miss time, even if their upside is limited abit with both TEs healthy.

RyanGriffin, NYJ at MIA

FD ($5,000)         DK ($3,400)

Griffin has been one of the lone bright spots these pastcouple weeks for the Jets, and he’s coming off his best game of the season, atwo-touchdown performance against the Jaguars (4-66-2). I keep hearing talkthat Griffin will be relegated to a backup role once Chris Herndon returns fromhis hamstring injury, which could be as soon as this week in Miami, but Herndonis still a 50-50 shot to play. If he sits, Griffin is an option.

T.J.Hockenson, DET at OAK

FD ($5,000)         DK ($3,700)

The rookie tight end hasbeen relatively quiet lately, with just four catches in his last two weeks, butthat could change versus an Oakland defense that’s 28th against TEs. He’s stillgot 15-20 point upside but is a TD-dependent option who’s fine for GPPs.

Additional Week 9 DFS GPP and punt options:

Cameron Brate, TB at SEA (FD $5,100, DK $3,100)

Jack Doyle, IND at PIT (FD $5,000, DK $3,000)

Trey Burton, CHI at PHI (FD $4,800, DK $2,900)

Anthony Firkser, TEN at CAR (FD $4,700, DK $2,500)

Noah Fant, DEN vs. CLE (FD $4,600, DK $3,000)

Foster Moreau, OAK at HOU (FD $4,900, DK $2,600)

Week 9 DFS DST Cash Game Plays

BuffaloBills (BUF vs. WAS)

FD ($5,000)         DK ($3,800)

The Bills have disappointed us as the chalk DST before, but they’ve been serviceable against bad offenses, and this week they have a great home matchup against Washington. They’re relatively safe, have some upside, and Washington has just a 13-point implied total – the lowest of Week 9 – with turnover-prone rookie Dwayne Haskins starting at QB. The Bills DST should rebound in a big way.

PhiladelphiaEagles (PHI vs. CHI)

FD ($4,600)         DK ($3,000)

Considering the Bears have one of the worst offenses in football and the Eagles defensive unit has been solid, I’m giving the Eagles the green light in cash games this week. Philly’s DST dropped 35 DK points on the Jets in Week 5, and they have similar upside this week against Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears.

DenverBroncos (DEN vs. CLE)

FD ($4,300)         DK ($2,900)

If you’re looking for a cheap defense to play in cashgames, the Broncos face a turnover-prone Browns team at Mile High, where they usuallyplay a lot better as a unit. Give them a look if you’re in a salary crunch foryour lineup’s final spot.

Week9 DFS DST GPP Plays

SeattleSeahawks (SEA vs. TB)

FD ($4,900)         DK ($3,600)

Seattle faces a Bucs team that’s got an implied total of 24.5 points, but Jameis Winston has thrown seven INTs over his past two weeks, making them a great GPP play. The secondary does have some issues with depth – last Sunday they were missing Tre Flowers, Quandre Diggs among others, and saw just a handful of snaps from Bradley McDougald. Those recurring injury problems and the implied total make them a little riskier for cash, but they’re one of my top tournament plays of Week 9.

GreenBay Packers (GB at LAC)

FD ($4,400)         DK ($3,400)

The Packers were an under-the-radar DST for a while, and now’sthey’re one of the top defenses thanks to stellar play from the entire unit, especiallyZa’Darius Smith and Preston Smith at LB. And they have Darnell Savage back atsafety – which gives them a big boost. I’ll have some Aaron Jones/GB DSTlineups in GPPs.

NewYork Jets (NYJ at MIA)

FD ($4,600)         DK ($3,500)

The Jets defense is a bit of a mess right now with a lot ofbackup players forced into starting roles, but the matchup versus Miami means wehave to consider them.

ChicagoBears (CHI at PHI)

FD ($4,400)          DK ($2,900)

The Bears DST came into the season a juggernaut, had acouple monster games in weeks 3 and 4, and now is struggling to make a bigsplash because of how poorly the offense is playing. They’re under $3K on DKnow, and the Eagles offensive line is in disarray, so that’s enough for me toconsider them in DFS.

ClevelandBrowns (CLE at DEN)

FD ($4,300)         DK ($3,100)

The Browns get to face an untested QB, and they still havean effective pass rush and decent cornerbacks – so I’m buying some shares in Week9. A risk as a road play, but one with plenty of upside.

Week9 DFS DST Punt Plays

Carolina Panthers CAR vs. TEN)

FD ($4,000)         DK ($2,800)

The Panthers are cheap and their opponent, the Titans, havean implied total under 20 – making this one of the bets matchups of Week 9. Don’toverthink it.

MiamiDolphins (MIA vs. NYJ)

FD ($3,600)         DK ($2,700)

The Dolphins defense has its moments – and so does SamDarnold the Ghost Whisperer. Seriously, though, we can make a case for theDolphins DST even in full tank mode based solely on the awfulness of the Jets.

WashingtonRedskins (WAS at BUF)

FD ($3,000)         DK ($1,800)

The ultimate punt, it shouldn’t be hard for this team to make 4x or 5x value at the $1,800 price tag. I like Josh Allen, but he’s far from perfect, and has been known to throw ‘em to the opposition.

Here are Scott Engel’s favorite value and punt plays at each position for NFL DFS Week 9. As a weekly nod to punting, we also salute some of the greatest punters of all time by featuring their photos. This week’s featured punter is Shane Lechler

NFL DFS Week 9 Quarterback Values and Punts

Derek Carr ($5,500 on DraftKings): The Raiders QB haspicked up his play recently and faces the Lions, who have the league’s worstpass defense. Oakland may prefer to run first, but Matthew Stafford will alsobe flinging the ball around the yard and Carr will have to keep pace.

Ryan Fitzpatrick ($4,800): Miami is actually startingto look more competitive and could come away with its first win of the seasonat home against the Jets. If the Dolphins are going to actually claim avictory, Fitzpatrick will carry them to it. The Jets’ 24th-rankedpass defense will be further weakened as RCB Trumaine Johnson is out with an ankleinjury.

NFL DFS Week 9 Running Back Values and Punts

Devin Singletary ($4,700):  Among NFC teams, Washington allows the secondmost Fantasy Points Per Game to RBs. The Bills need a jolt offensively fromsomeone other than John Brown, and the exciting and versatile rookie is the guyto start providing it this week.

Mark Walton ($4,500): The path to a featured role wascleared for him this week when Kenyan Drake was dealt to Arizona. Walton hasshown he can be effective as both a runner and receiver and could be set forhis biggest workload yet in NFL DFS Week 9. He may actually register his firstcareer NFL TD against the Jets.

Ronald Jones ($4,100): If I was to go with Jaylen Samuelsas my third pick, that would be too obvious. The Seahawks and Buccaneers willengage in the highest scoring game of the week and Jones could see some openrunning lanes as Seattle has to mainly concentrate on stopping the passinggame. Jones has the speed to rip off a sizable run and can also finish off ascoring drive with a TD run.  I have agut feeling (and my gut is very prominent) that Jones is on the verge of aquality DFS outing.

NFL DFS Week 9 Wide Receiver Values and Punts

Danny Amendola ($4,700): He caught eight passes ineach of the past two games for a total of 200 yards during that span. Amendolais seizing a role as Stafford’s high percentage and yardage after the catch receiver.

Zach Pascal ($4,100): With T.Y. Hilton out, he isexpected to step forward as the top WR for Jacoby Brissett. Teammate ParrisCampbell is also a very appealing GPP play at $3,000 and has more upside.

David Moore ($3,100): With Seattle’s signing of Josh Gordon, Moore will soon lose playing time and may be stripped of his role as the secondary downfield target behind DK Metcalf. Moore may want to make a statement in a high-scoring affair with the Buccaneers and their 31st ranked pass defense.

NFL DFS Week 9 Tight End Values and Punts

Noah Fant ($3,000): He was targeted a career-higheight times in Week 8 and could see a rise in production as the second mostprominent pass-catcher in the Denver offense. Brandon Allen may look for him asa safe target in his first NFL start vs. Cleveland.

Jacob Hollister ($2,900): Tampa Bay is second-worstin the league at defending the TE position, and Hollister has been targetedeight times in two games since coming off the practice squad. Russell Wilsonwill throw to him with some confidence and Hollister is capable of providingthat surprising TE outing that no one sees coming. Those seem to happenrandomly and frequently. Here’s an actual prediction that Hollister could bethe productive punt that no one else but you will own.

NFL DFS Week 9 Defenses – Values and Punts

Pittsburgh ($2,400): This unit is very underpriced. The Steelers have eight interceptions in their past three games and at leastfour sacks in four of their last six. The Colts passing game is depleted, andwhile Jacoby Brissett has been protected well this year, there could becoverage sacks absorbed and a lower scoring output against a unit that hasallowed 31 points in its past two games.

Washington ($1,800): The Redskins have not allowed 20 points in their past three games and have 10 sacks during that span. They intercepted two passes in Weeks 4 and 6. Buffalo is bottom 10 in points scored, averaging 19.1 points per game.
