Welcome to WinDaily’s newest edition of the NHL Stack and Track! In this article, the 1/11 NHL Stack and Track, we will look at the top NHL stacks at each price range and rank the best and the worst goalie spots to target in tonight’s nice 10-game slate.

1/11 NHL Stack Report

1. Washington Capitals Two $$$
   Vrana – Kuznetsov – Oshie (FanDuel: $19,700 | DraftKings: $16,500)
   – This line provides tons of value tonight at home against New Jersey. This is the first vs second-worst matchup and the Caps are in a position to kick New Jersey while they’re down, on the road. New Jersey is among the league’s worst in goals allowed per game, while the Caps have the fourth-best goals per game record in the NHL this season and hold the second-highest goals per game record on this slate behind Tampa. Given Philly’s success at home which will hamper Tampa’s overall scoring ability, it should come to nobody’s surprise that the Capitals hold the best-implied goal total on today’s slate at a whopping 4.1 expected goals at the time of writing
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Dmitry Orlov (FD: $4,400 | DK: $3,900)
2. St. Louis Blues Two $$
   Sanford – O’Reilly – Perron (FanDuel: $16,200 | DraftKings: $15,100)
   – Sanford hasn’t found much success on this line to this point, however, the Blues have been cruising and the rest of St. Louis’ second line has been on fire with the two players leading the team in scoring with one leading in goals, the other leading in assists and both finishing in 1st and 2nd in overall points. Not to mention together they have tallied three goals and seven assists in their last three games alone. Hank’s time in the league is coming to a close and the Swedish legends’ goaltending ability is quickly deteriorating. The Rangers do have promising goaltending options in their near future so Rangers fans can rest easy.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Alex Pietrangelo (FD: $6,300 | DK: $6,300)
3. Chicago Blackhawks One $
   Quenneville – Toews – Kubalik (FanDuel: $13,900 | DraftKings: $12,300)
   – This play is a little unorthodox and like for St. Louis Two, Quenneville hasn’t been producing at the same rate as his other two linemates. Toews and Kubalik have been bright spots on what has been an overall inconsistent and underperforming Chicago side. Tonight, the Blackhawks will look to improve their home record against the Ducks who are an abysmal 6-13-2 on the road. The Ducks also take a lot of penalty minutes and haven’t been successful in killing them off. With Gibson not maintaining his form from prior seasons, Chicago’s top line appears to be an ideal candidate for a low owned stack with offensive upside.

Dominik Kubalik (FD: $4,300 | DK: $3,700) 
– Kubalik has largely flown under the radar, putting up points on the top line of the underperforming Chicago Blackhawks. Kubalik has had a solid start to the new decade with six points in his last four games. His price hasn’t risen too high, but if he maintains this form it will.

1. Washington Capitals Two $$$
   Vrana – Kuznetsov – Oshie (FanDuel: $19,500 | DraftKings: $16,300)
   – This line has been producing offensively for Washington as of late and provides salary relief over the overpriced first line. As far as tonight’s game vs Ottawa goes, Anderson is so bad that both top lines are viable tonight. However, Washington’s second line holds a slight edge over the first line.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Dmitry Orlov (FD: $4,300 | DK: $3,800)
2. St. Louis Blues Two $$
   Sanford – O’Reilly – Perron (FanDuel: $16,100 | DraftKings: $14,000)
   – Sanford has recently been promoted to St. Louis’ best line as his new linemates lead the team in scoring and have piled on the goals recently with a goal and five assists in their last game alone. St. Louis has also been almost unbeatable at home this season whereas the Sharks hold a losing record on the road. Despite the fact that St. Louis is on a five-game losing streak they are currently on a five-game home winning streak, not to mention prior to these three games the Blues were on a seven-game win streak. I am confident that they will be able to return to form at home.

3. Nashville Predators Three $
   Grimaldi – Bonino – SMITH (FanDuel: $11,800 | DraftKings: $10,800)
   – This line has been impressive. Though they may look insignificant, they have been playing like superstars. Smith has been one of my favorite plays since I’ve played DFS and he still finds a way to provide serious value even to this day. Currently, Smith has three goals and an assist in his last two games and his production has rubbed off on his teammates as his linemates have both received the benefits of Smith’s success. Rocco Grimaldi also has four points in his last two and last game Bonino recorded assists on both his linemate’s goals. This is truly one of the hottest depth lines since the break.

– Kovalchuk is a top-line winger with a scoring upside that is priced extremely cheap and is facing against the last-placed Red Wings. Detroit lets in the most goals in the NHL and Kovalchuk did have a strong first appearance with the Habs.

1/2 NHL Stack Report

1. Boston Bruins One $$$
   Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak (FanDuel: $25,200 | DraftKings: $23,000)
   – This line is by far the strongest option out of many viable top lines in tonight’s monster 12-game slate. In their past four games, this line has put up seven goals and fourteen assists, making them one of the NHL’s top lines this season. In tonight’s matchup, they will be at home against one of the league’s worst goalies in Elvis Merzlikins. Despite a strong performance from Elvis last game, the statistics are simply too strong to ignore, especially when considering that this matchup is at TD Gardens where Boston has only lost one game in regulation and Elvis is 0-7 on the road.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Brandon Carlo (FD: $3,700 | DK: $3,000)
2. Toronto Maple Leafs Two $$
   Kerfoot – Tavares – Nylander (FanDuel: $17,800 | DraftKings: $17,200)
   – It was really hard to choose between Toronto’s top two lines but the second line has been slightly more productive and for a slightly more reasonable price. William Nylander has been the best producer on this line with a three-game multi-point streak and 11 points in his last six games. The center Tavares has been very productive as well with seven points in his last three games. Tavares produces a lot of shots and both Nylander and Tavares play on Toronto’s top power-play unit. The final forward, Kerfoot, has been recently upgraded to this line after an injury to Ilya Mikheyev and is by far the cheapest player on the line. Kerfy has still been producing well enough for his price point with three points in his last four games and has been seeing an increase in ice-time as well as a spot on Toronto’s second power-play unit under Sheldon Keefe.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Tyson Barrie (FD: $5,100 | DK: $5,300)
3. Montreal Canadiens Two $
   Suzuki – Domi – Lekhonen (FanDuel: $14,700 | DraftKings: $12,100)
   – Montreal has not played well as of late, however, this team has been putting up the numbers to make them viable as a cheap option. For his part, Vasilevskiy has been winning games but he has struggled to keep the puck out of the net and maintain his Vezina-winning numbers from last season (2018/19 GAA – 2.40) (2019/20 GAA 2.89). Max Domi centers this line and he has been a non-stop scoring machine as of late with consistent output, managing to put together a six-game goal streak. Lehkonen hasn’t been gaining from Domi’s offensive output as of yet but, Suzuki has been with eight points in his last six games alongside Domes.

– There are a lot of strong, viable options for tonight’s Wild Card. Galchenyuk has been put in an interesting situation given the recent long-term injury to Jake Guentzel. Galchenyuk now finds himself alongside Rust and Malkin on Pittsburgh’s top pairing. Galchenyuk has also been heating up with three points in his last three games and he will also find some time on Pittsburgh’s power play.

Panarin-Zibanejad-Tkachuk – Putting Up Points – This game pits two high scoring teams with two of the highest combined implied totals on tonight’s slate. Both goaltenders in this matchup have been very shaky and the O/U is set at 6.5. These three players have been each team’s top producers and I can easily see them surpassing three points together.

Nylander-Scheifele-Tavares – Putting Up Points – This game also has two of the league’s highest-powered offenses and both teams allow a lot of shots and a lot of goals. Each of these three players is currently on a roll and together have six goals and 12 assists in their last three games alone. While each starting goalie has a total of 24 goals against over their past three games combined.

12/31 NHL Stack Report

1. Florida Panthers One $$$
   Huberdeau – Barkov – Dadonov (FanDuel: $20,700 | DraftKings: $17,700)
   – If anything last game against the Canadiens proved why I rate Florida’s top line so highly. This line was involved in four of Florida’s six goals and together amassed four goals and five assists amongst themselves. Tonight the Panthers have a very favorable matchup as they are set to face off against the Colombus Blue Jackets who are beginning to slip away from their recent success which won’t be aided by the recent injury of their all-star goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. Instead of a 25-year old rookie, Elvis Merzlikins will get the start against the Panthers. Elvis has struggled tremendously this season, losing his first eight starts while sporting a 3.41 GAA and a .889 SV%, setting him among the league’s worst goalies this season.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Aaron Ekblad (FD: $4,900 | DK: $4,800)
2. Philadelphia Flyers Two $$
   van Riemsdyk – Hayes – Konecny (FanDuel: $16,400 | DraftKings: $15,800)
   – This line has largely been flying under the radar but as of late they have been putting up impressive numbers helping the Flyers improve to five wins in their last six games. Both Konecny and van Riemsdyk appear on Philadelphia’s first power-play unit while Hayes plays on the second power-play unit. Altogether this line has contributed 9 goals and 10 assists during their recent 6-game surge. For tonight’s matchup, the Flyers are facing the Los Angeles Kings who have lost four of their last five games. The Kings have been less than impressive this season, finding themselves last in the Western Conference and third last in the NHL. The Kings are set to start Jonathan Quick between the pipes who currently hold a 3.05 GAA and a .893 SV%, not to mention has lost his last three starts. All of which bodes in favor of the Flyers tonight.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Ivan Provorov (FD: $5,700 | DK: $5,300)
3. St. Louis Blues One $
   Schwartz – Schenn – Kyrou (FanDuel: $14,400 | DraftKings: $13,300)
   – St. Louis has been on a roll! The Blues, who currently find themselves on an eight-game winning streak heading into New Years, have benefitted tremendously from the hard work of their top unit who have put up seven goals and 12 assists over their last five games. Despite the Coyotes being favored in this matchup, the Yotes have dropped their last three games and hold a losing record at home (8-10-1), while the Blues have managed to hold the exact same home and away records at 12-4-3.

– From a 15-game goal drought earlier in December, Strome has really turned his game around and now finds him second in scoring for the Rangers during the 2019-20 NHL campaign. Strome has put up insane numbers as of late mainly due to his monster four-point performance against Frederik Andersen, an all-star goaltender. Strome’s quality performance has landed himself a spot on the Rangers top power-play unit and during even-strength play, he is paired alongside all-star and Rangers leading scorer Artemi Panarin.
Honorable Mention(s): Martin Necas, Ian Cole, Brady Skjei

12/31 NHL Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Jonathan Huberdeau – Over 3.5 Fantasy Points – Huberdeau has been Florida’s most productive player over their last six games and in those games he has reached the 3.5 fantasy point threshold five out of six times. Given that tonight’s matchup is against a goalie who has been struggling tremendously this season, all signs point to Huberdeau reaching this threshold yet again.

McDavid-Zibanejad-Panarin – Putting Up Points – This game has one of the highest combined implied totals on tonight’s slate and all three of these players have been absolute studs as of late. Together these three have put up six goals and eight assists in their last three-game and with struggling goalies on both ends of the ice, this could prove to be another form of fireworks set to go off tonight.

12/28 NHL Stack Report

1. Vancouver Canunks Two $$$
   Boeser – Pettersson – Miller (FanDuel: $21,000 | DraftKings: $18,900)
   – The Kings are bad, not the Red Wings bad but they are really bad. The Kings allow an average of 3.13 goals against per game and have one of the league’s worst penalty kills at 73.6%. Vancouver’s recently reunited top-line play together on the top power-play unit and will most likely face one of the league’s worst-performing goaltenders in Jonathan Quick. His GAA is at 3.05 and his SV% is below .900. Quick has also lost three of his last four games and his last matchup against the Canucks, Quick gave up five goals on 49 shots, four of which were given up to this line. (Three of which contributed to Boeser’s third career NHL hat-trick) The 5-goal thrashing happened in California, the Kings are in line for a thrashing against the Canucks in Vancouver. (The Canucks have a positive home record [11-5-3] and a negative away record [8-10-1])
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Quinn Hughes (FD: $4,200 | DK: $4,800)
2. Florida Panthers One $$
   Huberdeau – Barkov – Dadonov (FanDuel: $20,200 | DraftKings: $18,000)
   – With the best odds of tonights 12/28 NHL slate, Florida is set to take on the league’s worst team and the league’s worst goalie in the Red Wings (9-26-3) and Jimmy Howard (2-12-1). The Red Wings are last in the NHL in most offensive and defensive stat categories including goals, shots on goal, goals allowed and penalty kill. Florida’s powerhouse line has been reunited and with Detroit’s best player sidelined with an upper-body injury, this line will look to do some damage at home in the BB&T Center tonight. Throughout the line shuffles this line remained intact on the power play and was still able to do damage, sporting the league’s 8th best power play at 22.9%. Now this line will have extremely high ownership. However, in this matchup, you’ll have to bit the bullet in my opinion. Especially in cash games. This is my top stack of the night.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Keith Yandle (FD: $5,700 | DK: $4,900)
3. Arizona Coyotes Two $
   Keller – Soderberg – Schmaltz (FanDuel: $15,500 | DraftKings: $15,600)
   – It is most likely that Vegas will match-up their top line with Arizona’s powerful top line allowing for Arizona’s second line to receive less attention. The presence of this line is spread across both of Arizona’s power-play units and each player sees around 16-17 minutes per game. Not to mention that Schmaltz and Keller and Arizona’s leading scorers and will be facing a Vegas team that lost 4-3 last night against the 27th-placed Ducks.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Jakob Chychurn (FD: $4,300 | DK: $4,200)

1. Chris Driedger (FD: $7,100 | DK: $8,200)

12/28 NHL Wild Card of the Day

Travis Konecny (FD: $6,400 | DK: $6,100) 
– The rest of Konecny’s line doesn’t look intriguing to me, however, the Sharks are in a deep hole, losing their last four games including an embarrassing blown 2-goal lead last night to the lowly Kings, allowing a recent AHL call-up to score twice in the third period to force overtime. The Sharks projected starter Martin Jones has been atrocious as of late losing his last six starts (two of which he was pulled in) giving up around four goals per game in the process. Konecny, on the other hand, has been producing for the Flyers this season. He is Philadelphia’s top scorer with four more points in three fewer games than Sean Couturier who sits in second for the Flyers. Konecny has five points in his last four games and sees around 20 minutes of ice-time per game including time on Philadelphia’s top power-play unit. Konecny is a bright spot for me in this slate and I don’t mind him as a one-off play tonight.

12/28 NHL Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Jonathan Huberdeau – More Fantasy Points than Hoffman (+0.5) –Hoffman has been cold with only one assist in his last five games and despite playing on Florida’s top power-play unit alongside Huberdeau, Hoffman plays on Florida’s third line during even strength, giving Huberdeau all the ice time with the high powered offense, not to mention, Huberdeau has been feeling it as of late with 11 points in his last four games (3 goals, 8 assists). Huberdeau should easily outscore Hoffman in fantasy points even with the 0.5 cushions for Hoffman.

Brock Boeser – Over 2.5 Fantasy Points – Boeser is hot right now and against a tired Kings team (who was taken into OT last night) and Jonathan Quick, Boeser should have no trouble reaching the 2.5-point threshold, especially being back on Vancouver’s high powered second line. Not to mention that he has met the 2.5 fantasy point threshold in his last three games.

Honorable Mention(s): Rapid Fire – Huberdeau more Fantasy Points than Hoffman and Barkov more Fantasy Points than Dylan Larkin. 0.5-point Cushion for both.

12/27 Stack Report

1. Boston Bruins One $$$
   Pastrnak – Bergeron – Marchand (FanDuel: $24,500 | DraftKings: 23,000)
   – This line has been fire with involvement in six goals over Boston’s past three games. Led by the leagues scoring leader David Pastrnak, the B’s top line has clicked all season and has lined up together on Boston’s top power-play unit, along with defensive stud, Torey Krug. Tonight the Bruins will face off against the Sabres and although they have had offensive success this season their back end has been disappointing and their goaltending has been abysmal leaving it open to DFS exploitation.

   – Coach Keefe molded this line partway through Mondays matinee gong-show against the Hurricanes and as soon as this combination was put on the ice it was ELECTRIC. In 59 seconds this line put up three goals, to turn a 6-4 deficit into a 7-6 lead in the third period. 60 minutes with this pairing could be dangerous, especially against a struggling goalie in Blackwood and a struggling team in the Devils.

3. New York Islanders One $
   Eberle – Barzal – Lee (FanDuel: $18,600 | DraftKings: 15,600)
   – The Isles have been silent assassins as of late. In their past three games, this line has been responsible for five goals and nine assists! The entire line is an absolute bargain, especially Anders Lee on DraftKings, below 5K is a joke, exploit it while it is available. All three play on the Isles top power-play unit and tonight will be facing off against a struggling goaltender in Corey Crawford who has given up an average of four goals in each of his last four starts even getting the hook in his last start after coughing up 4 goals on 20 shots, to the Devils.

   (This pick needs a bit of explanation: Yes Korpisalo does not have good Vegas odds. However, Washington has faced Columbus four times in 2019 and Columbus has won all four with Korpisalo claiming three of the four wins, including the two this season. The Jackets have held the Capitals to 3 goals in 4 games in 2019 including 2 shutouts, although the risk is high, I like Korpisalo as a GPP option, especially considering the Capitals have been mediocre as of late and the Jackets have won their last five games, including the 3-0 shutout over the Caps on the Dec 16th.)
3. Seymon Varlamov (FD: $8,300| DK: $8,300)

Mikheyev is extremely affordable on both sites and has been putting up points recently like it is nobody’s business with five points in his past five games. (3G, 2A) Tonight he will be up against Mackenzie Blackwood (2.81 GAA) and is set to play alongside Leafs captain John Tavares on the Leafs second line.

Mathew Barzal – Over 3.5 Fantasy Points – Barzal has been on an absolute tear leading into the Christmas Break with five points in his last three games, in all three he easily cleared the 3.5-point threshold and given that he will be facing a sieve in Crawford who has given up an average of four goals in his past four starts, reaching the 3.5-point total should not be an issue.

Auston Matthews – Over 0.5 Goals – With three goals in his past two games, Matthews is second in the NHL in goals behind David Pastrnak. Unlike Pastrnak, Matthews has scored goals in his past four games. In this sense even though betting on Pasta getting a goal is safe. I recommend sticking with the hot hand. Both will be facing… questionable goaltending in Blackwoods and Ullmark.

1. Buffalo Sabres One $$$
   Olofsson – Eichel – Reinhart (FanDuel: $21,000 | DraftKings: 21,200)
   – Eichel is two games removed from one the best point streak in the NHL this season and will be looking to embark on a new streak against Anderson and the Sens tonight. Despite some glimpses of his old self Anderson has largely been underwhelming and is settling around the leagues worst in goaltending. While Buffalo’s top line has flourished into one of the most potent offenses in the NHL. With a remarkable start to the season, Victor Olofsson has propelled himself into the Calder Trophy conversation with nine power-play goals. Eichel, Olofsson, and Reinhart lead the Sabres in offense and all appear on the Sabres top power-play unit, seeing around 20 minutes of ice time per game each.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Rasmus Dahlin (FD: $5,400| DK: $5,600)
2. Vancouver Canucks Two $$
   Boeser – Pettersson – Miller (FanDuel: $20,800 | DraftKings: 17,600)
   – The line shuffle is over, and Vancouver’s top three are back on Vancouver’s top line. Just in time as they are set to face off against a struggling Mike Smith at home in Rogers Arena. Smith has not held a save percentage above .900 in his last three games and Vancouver’s best line has managed to record five goals and five assists in their past two games against powerful NHL opponents in Pittsburgh and Vegas. All three young guns play on Vancouver’s top power play and each plays around 20 minutes per game.
   Ideal Defensive Partner: Quinn Hughes (FD: $4,300| DK: $4,700)
3. St. Louis Blues Two $
   Perron – O’Reilly – Sundqvist (FanDuel: $17,100 | DraftKings: 15,800)
   – It was a hard choice between STL2 and STL1 as both have been playing so well as of late however St. Louis 2 has had a slight edge in my opinion and against Quick and the Kings tonight both lines will have the ability to dominate and both STL1 and STL2 combine to form St. Louis’ top power-play unit. In their past three NHL games, STL 2 has scored four goals and seven assists and the team has put together a five-game winning streak in the lead up to the Christmas break while the Kings find themselves near the bottom of the league, currently hold a two-game losing streak.

Noel Acciari – The Lightning are currently in a slump and Vasilevskiy has not been particularly helpful giving up 11 goals in his last three starts. On the other hand, Noel Acciari has been putting up insane numbers on Florida’s new-look second line. In just three games with the new pairing, Acciari has put up eight points, seven of which were goals! Leading him to back-to-back hat tricks and an average of 15 minutes of ice-time. Acciari is making Coach Quenneville look as good as he did during the Blackhawks dynasty.

Patrick Kane – Over 0.5 Assists – The Blackhawks will face off at home against the lowly Devils who have lost eight of their last ten games and hold an abysmal 6-11-0 record on the road. Kane is 10th in the NHL in assists and has four in just his last two games. Grabbing on against Blackwood tonight shouldn’t be a challenge for the former playoff MVP.

Elias Pettersson – Over 3.5 Fantasy Points – Pettersson already has 17 goals in the season and 39 points in just 37 games, considering that the 3.5 point threshold is met after one goal it seems extremely likely that Pettersson will reach this mark at home against Mike Smith.
