DFS Expert/Pro Wrestler Matt Striker and FSWA Hall of Famer Scott Engel are featured in the 7/4 MLB DFS Podcast. Listen to get caught up on who they are planning to play today and tonight. They break down the large slate and engage in some interesting banter. Scott actually pulls a Jason Vargas like act on Striker at one point.

Sanchez and Lynn are Top Choices

Anibal Sanchez is maybe the best value for pitching on the slate against his former team. Scott also likes Lance Lynn a lot, but Striker may want to employ a contrarian stack against him. Should you really spend for Dodgesr bats tonight? Some Toronto bats may be in play. Listen closely to the 7/4 MLB DFS Podcast to find the hidden gems on the Daily Fantasy Baseball slate.

If you are trying to save money on DFS Pitching tonight you may veer towards the Cubs-Pirates game, where two underachieving guys who were regarded as aces in past seasons square off and still have some apparent appeal, while certainly diminished. But I am avoiding Yu Darvish ($8600 on DraftKings) and Chris Archer in this one. The Pirates are actually leading MLB in batting over the past week. Darvish has allowed nine runs in his past two starts and at least four runs in three of his past four outings. Archer has allowed four runs in four of his past seven starts, and may be the better play of the two, but I am not risking him personally against a team that is fourth in the N.L. in homers. Archer has allowed 18 HRs so far this season.

Chris Sale seems to be the obvious top DFS Pitching play at $11,800 tonight, but as Jason Mezrahi pointed out on today’s Win Daily podcast, it is going to be too challenging to roster Sale and then be able to utilize the bats you want from the Astros-Rockies matchup in Coors Field. If you do want to get off the Coors line, though, and consider stacks with lesser priced bats such as the Reds or Phillies, then you may be able to find a way to go with Sale.

If you want to save some money in DFS Pitching tonight forhitting, then Danny Duffy ($7100) may be your answer. Cleveland is 28thin team batting over the past week and now may be a good time for Duffy tocatch them at home. Jason will be very happy to see me endorsing Duffy after Ihave given him so much of a hard time for recommending him in the past. But as erraticas Duffy can be, he will save you some salary tonight if you want those Coorsbats. Duffy has allowed three earned runs or less in three of his last fourstarts so I will risk him as the GPP play.

Cal Quantrill ($5000) is returning to the San Diego rotationto actually try and help the Padres avoid a home sweep by the Giants. Quantrill’sERA as a starter is 5.23 and the Giants have won three straight games whilescoring in double digits each time. But if you want to make a bold DFS Pitchingmove to save some cash, we have seen the San Francisco lineup flame out oftenthis season.

If you want to pivot off Sale and still have a top DFSPitching option, especially for cash games, Walker Buehler is at $10,900 as theDodgers host Arizona. He had allowed four earned runs in his previous fourstarts before his last outing, which was a trip to Coors Field. Buehler is 3-0with a 3.05 ERA at home.

Monkey Knife Fight Pick of the Day

I covered the Cubs-Pirates matchup in the DFS Pitching section, and it’s apparent I am not a fan of each pitcher. Considering how the Pirates are hitting recently, and the potent Cubs lineup presents longball threats against Archer, I’ll take both of the unders here. I believe both starters will get chased before they get the opportunities to reach the strikeout thresholds displayed below. Play these and more MLB Props now and get 100 percent bonus!

DFS PRO Jason Mezrahi and FSWA Hall of Famer Scott Engel are featured in the 7/3 MLB DFS Podcast. Listen to get caught up on who they are planning to play tonight. They break down the large slate and offer some strategy tips for the audience.

All Roads Lead to Astros at Coors

The first decisions you have to make on this slate is how to save on some pitching and find a few values so you can load up on bats tonight in the Houston-Colorado game at Coors Field. Jason believes you can use the likes of Chris Archer or Cal Quantrill, but Scott is very much against using Tyler Alexander, that may be going a bit too far to save salary. So listen closely to the 7/3 MLB DFS Podcast to find the hidden gems on the Daily Fantasy Baseball slate.

Joe Musgrove looked better in June and his road numbers reflecta more positive DFS outlook. But he is always prone to a blowup start and couldbe in some danger at Wrigley Field tonight. I would opt for Anthony Rizzo at$4700 on DraftKings and Kyle Schwarber at $4100. Victor Carantini is just $3700if he is in the lineup. Kris Bryant is worth the $4800, as he is hitting .333with two homers and five RBI over the past week. Jayson Heyward (4800) ishitting .304 with three homers and 10 RBI in the past week. I will considerseveral Cubs as DFS GPP plays.

Trent Thornton held down the Red Sox on June 21 in Fenwaybut I do not believe he will do so again at home, seeing Boston again in such ashort time span. Rafael Devers ($4,900) is hitting .556 over the past week andJ.D. Martinez ($4600) is at .529 with two homers and five RBI in that span.Jackie Bradley Jr. is at just $3600 and is hitting .500 over the past week andXander Bogaerts ($4800) is at .357 with two homers and six RBI.  Brock Holt is at $3700 if he is in the lineup.

The Rays will be facing Asher Wojciechwoski, who has not appeared in an MLB game since 2017. He has a 6.64 career MLB ERA. Tampa Bay offers some friendly priced DFS options. Willy Adames ($3900) is hitting .308 with three homers and five RBI over the past week. As noted in our Winners and Losers column today, Kevin Kiermaier ($3700) may be starting to heat up as well. Ji-Man Choi is just $3600 and Brandon Lowe is at $4200 for the lefty/righty split. Yandy Diaz ($4400) is always worth consideration when the Rays are in a spot to fare well.

Zack Wheeler allowed six homers in five June starts with apair of two-HR games, so you should expect him to surrender at least twolongballs against the Yankees. Aaron Judge (4,300) , D.J. LeMahieu ($5300) andDidi Gregorius ($3600) have all homered twice in the past week. Judge andGregorious give you nice DFS exposure to a powerful lineup against an erraticstarter. Their prices are friendly after recent long injury layoffs.

Chase Anderson’s first name is fitting because that whatopposing hitters seem to do to him often this year. He only has lasted past 5.1IP once. The Reds hammered him for six runs on June 21 and should “chase” Andersonagain to your DFS delight. Joey Votto is at just $4100 and is hitting .364 overthe past week. Eugenio Suarez is at a nifty $4200 and is hitting .364 withthree HRs and seven RBI over the past week. Jesse Winker gives you a lefty/rightysplit at $4000, and so does Scooter Gennett at $3900.

Jose Suarez had a 5.57 ERA in four starts earlier this yearand now returns from the minors to face the Rangers. Joey Gallo ($5,500) is ishitting .328 with seven homers and 28 RBI vs. LHPs this year, and Elvis Andrus ($4,600)is at .317 with 12 RBI and 13 runs scored. Both hitters are worth spending upfor in DFS tonight.

The Houston/Colorado game is very stackable in DFS tonight from both sides, as German Marquez is way more hittable at home. Houston prospect Jose Urquidy has pitched pretty well in the minors this season, so I lean to the Astros bats in this one. Yuli Gurriel ($4,100) is hitting .350 over the past week and Alex Bregman ($5,000) has hit .348 over that span, as has Josh Reddick ($4,200). You will have to check on the status of Gurriel, though, as an ankle issue caused him to miss Sunday’s game.

Cleveland stacks will also be popular against Jakob Junis.Jason Kipnis ($3600) and Bobby Bradley ($3300) are some DFS salary saversthere.

Minnesota bats will certainly get consideration againstDaniel Mengden, but the park factor may make it better to steer in some otherdirections tonight when the schedule is so full. Nelson Cruz ($4,900) ishitting .435 with three home runs and 10 RBI over the past week.

Dodgers bats will get DFS play against Taylor Clarke, too,as he saw them just a week ago. Cody Bellinger ($5,700) homered against him andAlex Verdugo is a very good play at $4400.

The Padres have been hot and should tear up Tyler Beede.Spend in DFS for Manny Machado at $5200. Eric Hosmer ($4,600) is at .481 withnine RBI over the past week. If Greg Garcia ($4,300) is in the lineup, he hashit .308 over the past week.

Monkey Knife Fight Pick of the Day

Let’s have some Subway Series fun here. In my DFS hitting outlook for the Yankees above, I indicated that Zack Wheeler could give up at least two homers. So he may not last long enough to go over 6.5 strikeouts. I will take the under. Wheeler lasted 4.2 innings last time he faced the Yanks and finished at six Ks. Paxton had his worst start of the year against the Mets last month, lasting only 2.2 innings with one strikeout. I’ll take the under on both in another high scoring Subway Series affair. Play MLB Props for tonight and get 100 percent bonus!

The Padres may be the top DFS stack of the night. Jeff Samardzija has a 5.18 road ERA and has allowed five earned runs in each of his past two starts. The Padres are the fifth-best hitting team in the National League over the past week. Fernando Tatis Jr. ($5700 on DraftKings) hit .383 with five homers and 15 RBI in June. Manny Machado tore it up to the tune of a .314 BA with 11 HRs and 29 RBI and is an essential part of your Padres DFS stack. Eric Hosmer was at .314 with 27 RBI. Ian Kinsler hit .309 in June and can be a DFS stack punt play at 3300. Franmil Reyes must be considered at 4400.

You should take a DFS stack shot with the Reds against Milwaukee’s Adrian Houser, who had pitched really well in relief before a shaky first turn in the rotation. Yasiel Puig (4,700) is hitting .326 with five homers, 15 RBI and four steals over the past 15 days. Joey Votto (4300) is hitting .361 with six RBI and nine runs scored over the same span. Eugenio Suarez (4000) hit a monster HR on Sunday and also consider Jesse Winker at 4000 for the lefty/righty split. Scooter Gennett should be locked in for your DFS stack at 3,900 if he is in the lineup.

Scott Engel and Pro Wrestler and DFS expert Matt Striker are featured in the 6/27 MLB DFS Podcast. Listen to get caught up on who they are planning to play this afternoon and tonight. They break down both the early and main slates, where quality pitching is more scarce than usual.

Should You Use Sandy Alcantara?

Today’s DFS Podcast helps you make tough decisions while having some fun along the way. While the top starting pitchers on each slate seem clear, trying to mine for value or trusting a second pitcher on a site like DraftKings will be a challenge. Matt questions whether you have to adhere to using stacks or not. Do you dare use Walker Buehler at Coors Field? Will the better version of Sandy Alcantara shpw up? Most importantly, will CEO Jason Mezrahi take these two off the air after hearing them clown around? Sign up NOW for WIN DAILY Premium Gold right here! On the early slate, Chris Sale is certainly worth the $11,600 on DraftKings, and he could get his first home win this season against his former team. Sale did have a bumpy start his last time out, but he should rebound today. But you can save $1000 by going with Trevor Bauer at home against the Royals. Some DFS players may be skeptical a bit after he was hit hard by the Tigers his last time out. Bauer is definitely better on the road, but you have to like the opponent here. Bauer also pitches better in day games (1.82 ERA). Kansas City is 25th in team batting this month and on the road overall.

If you choose to play on the all day DFS slate, our CEO and DFS Pro Jason Mezrahi likes German Marquez at San Francisco for 10,000 on DK. Marquez is coming off a very strong outing against the Dodgers and he registered his first career shutout at Oracle Park earlier this season. He should also get quality run support from the Colorado lineup against Jeff Samardzija.

In one of the best matchups of the night, Mike Minor (11,000)opposes Matt Boyd (10,000). Both pitchers are worth strong DFS GPP consideration, but only one can win here and it could be a low-scoring duel that eliminatesboth as cash game plays. Boyd, however, is coming off two bumpy starts, so youcan lean to Minor here in tournaments, especially since he faces the weakerlineup.

Patrick Corbin is a top play at 10,600 at Miami in a pitcher’spark against one the most vulnerable lineups in MLB. He is the preferred DFScash game play on the night slate. Last time Corbin faced Miami in May, hedelivered a complete game shutout. Miami hitters who have faced him previouslyhave a composite .195 batting average against Corbin.

I have a strong gut feeling about Framber Valdez at a DFSprice of just 6900 at home against Pittsburgh. My gut is quite prominent, so Imay want to listen to it. I look like a lowercase letter b from the side view. Valdezhad two solid outings as a starter before getting hit hard at Yankee Stadiumlast week. He had 15 strikeouts and three earned runs in two previous startsagainst Toronto and Baltimore. I am going to use him as my second DK pitcher inDFS GPP play.

In the featured pitching matchup of the night, CharlieMorton (10,200) opposes Jake Odorizzi (9,500). I am not spending up for Morton againstthat Minnesota lineup. Odorizzi’s price is down after a pair of four-runoutings against Kansas City. That makes him a GPP DFS Play against Tampa Bay,21st in team batting in June and is fifth in Ks this month. On thenight slate I would go with Odorizzi or Minor as my DFS GPP play along with Valdezas my SP2.

Monkey Knife Fight Play of the Night

I am going big on the Pittsburgh-Houston Over/Under tonight for 19x my buy-in. Framber Valdez will easily go over 4.5 Ks. Josh Bell is hitting .176 over the last week and is better vs. RHPs, so I will take the under on 1.5 Runs plus RBI. Starling Marte is hitting .167 over the past week and .238 vs. lefties, so I will take the under on 1.5 total bases. Dario Agrazi, who is making his second start after posting a 3,87 ERA in the minors, should be a good target for the Houston hitters. The Pittsburgh bullpen is also ranked 27th. So over for me on 1.5 Hits plus Walks on Jose Altuve and 1.5 Total Bases for Alex Bregman, who starts to get back on track tonight. Our Joel Bartilotta has more on Bregman here. Follow my gut with Valdez here tonight and get 100 percent bonus!

Scott Engel and Jason Mezrahi are featured in the 6/26 MLB DFS Podcast. Listen to get caught up on who they are planning to play this afternoon and tonight. They break down all the slates and they debate on whether Yu Darvish can survive a matchup with the Braves lineup.

Should You Stack Against Vargas?

Today’s DFS Podcast is full of spirited back and forth discussions. Jason goes right in for a Phillies stack against Jason Vargas, but Scott cautions that the Mets pitcher has been performing well overall recently. On the full slate, Jason is leaning heavily towards using German Marquez. The featured matchup of the night has Charlie Morton opposing Jake Odorizzi. Do you dare use Morton against the Minnesota lineup? Is the Twins starter beginning to fade and cannot be trusted?

You never know which version of Sandy Alcantara is going toshow up, but if the version that allowed six runs in five innings to thePhillies in Miami in April does, I want some Philly bats. Bryce Harper is quiteaffordable on DraftKings at $4400 and Cesar Hernandez is $3700. Jean Segura ishitting .301 with 26 runs scored in home games and is ideal at 4000. ScottKingery is a .300 hitter at home with 13 RBI and 11 runs scored in 17 games andis well worth the 4900 spend.

Trent Thornton has been better on the road (2.98 ERA) thanat home, but I just cannot resist a few Boston hitters against him. Xander Bogaertsis hitting .324 in June with four homers and 12 RBI, while Andrew Benintendi isat .301 with eight RBI and 10 runs scored. J.D. Martinez has five homers, 10RBI and 12 runs scored this month.

Michael Wacha is coming off a rough start against the Mets,so Mike Trout is a top play of course, and Justin Upton is still at just 4100.Justin Bour gets the platoon split and is 3700 on DK.

The Rangers are going to be a popular stack against ReynaldoLopez. who has an 8.88 ERA over his past five starts. Danny Santana is hitting.357 in June with 11 runs scored, eight RBI and three steals.  Delino Deshields Jr. (4000) is hitting .327 withthree steals and nine runs scored. Elvis Andrus (5000) has 16 RBI this monthand Asdrubal Cabrera (4100) has 12. You also have to consider the Chicagohitters against Ariel Jurado. Eloy Jimenez (4800) is hitting .321 this month withsix homers and 14 RBI. James McCann can be your catcher if you want to spend4800, as he has three home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored this month. YolmerSanchez is coming off a three-hit night with a triple and could be a punt playat 2800.

Chase Anderson has a 5.79 ERA in June. Jose Iglesias ishitting .310 with 16 RBI and 13 runs scored in road games and is a fine play at3500. You can also get both Derek Dietrich and Jesse Winker from the left sidefor under 4500.

Jakob Junis, always a top DFS target, has a 5.68 home ERA.Just about any Twins bats you like are in play, including Max Kepler (5000),Eddie Rosario and Jorge Polanco at 4600, Miguel Sano at 4200 and JonathanSchoop at 3900, and Willians Astudillo as a 3500 salary saver.

You can also try some Arizona bats against Jeff Samardzija, includingChristian Walker at 4100. German Marquez has a 10.06 June ERA so go for theDodgers’ Max Muncy at 4900 and all other Los Angeles bats deserve strongconsideration. Chris Taylor is hitting .364 over the past week with six RBI andhe is at just 3700.

On the early slate, Gerrit Cole seems like the obviouschoice at $11,400 on DraftKings against Cincinnati. The Reds are middle of theroad in MLB in home strikeouts. Cole has 60 strikeouts in 40.1 road innings. Heis the apparent cash game play even though you will have to work in somecheaper bats to fit him into your day or full slate lineups.

Blake Snell is your gusty GPP play at 9500 at the Yankees. It’s obviously a big risk, but Snell is capable of dominating any opponent whenhe has his best stuff, and he has allowed three earned runs or less in seven ofhis last eight starts. He is not afraid of the Bronx, as last month he held theYanks to one run in six innings while striking out nine in a no-decision atYankee Stadium.

Zach Eflin (9100) is cheaper than Cole and may be just a tadsafer than Snell. He has allowed three earn runs while striking out 15 in twostarts since coming off the IL. Washington is 18th in home batting, and the lineup is less scary than the Yankees one that Snell has to face. It’seither the better pitcher in Snell vs, the slightly better matchup for Eflin. Iwould prefer Snell in a tournament but it’s close.

Chris Bassitt has to be your only choice for a second DKstarter and may be the best choice on the day slate for combination  of value at 8000 and a vulnerable opponent, ashe hosts the Orioles. Baltimore is 27th in road batting and Bassitthas allowed more than three earned runs in a game once this season. You do haveto hope for higher K numbers here, but it’s possible you could just enough witha good chance of a victory.

On the night slate, but you definitely have to considerAndrew Heaney at $8500 at Toronto. He already has a pair of 10-strikeout gamessince coming off the IL and the Blue Jays are Top 7 in the American League inhome strikeouts. The lineup looks more formidable than it did earlier in theseason but it’s still a viable matchup for Heaney, who has looked good in two ofthree turns since coming back. He should get good run support against Aaron Sanchezfor a possible victory.

Lucas Giolito (11,300) is the obvious standout and cashpitcher of the night against the Cubs. Right now, I do not care who Gioloto isfacing, he is the top pitcher on the slate when he is listed among the probables.

Zack Greinke is a GPP play at 9000, as Colorado has been thesecond-best hitting team in the Majors over the past week. You may think theyare less threatening away from Coors, but the Rox have scored five or more runsin six of their last seven road games. Their lineup is clicking regardless ofvenue.

Rich Hill (10,300) faces San Francisco at home, and theGiants are 25th in road batting. Hill has a 2.61 home ERA with 33strikeouts in 31 innings. Hill is also starting to shed concerns about length,as he has worked seven innings in two of his past three starts. He is the bestcash game play if you don’t want to spend up for Gioloto against a betterlineup.

MonkeyKnife Fight Pick of the Day

Our experts have been terrific when pinpointing Monkey Knife Fight plays in our premium chat rooms. Tonight, I will take my shot in the Over/Under in the Angels/Jays matchup, locking in Heaney for over 6.5 strikeouts, Mike Trout easily over 1.5 hits plus walks, and considering Aaron Sanchez has not gone over four Ks in five of his past six turns, I’ll take the under on 4.5 strikeouts. Get in against Sanchez now and get 100 percent bonus!
