This week we are at legendary Torrey Pines for The Farmers. This format will consist of rotation on the north and south courses with the famous 7700 yard south course being played three times to the norths one. There will be a cut after 36 holes and the final two rounds will be on the south course. We go back to 65 and ties for the cutline. You need an accurate driver, approach from 200 + and a sharp short game. The birdy fest says bye bye bye. Course history could be gleaned from the 2021 US Open. This week we go Hawaii island hopping to The Sony. This course doesn’t favor bombers, it’s a precision course that rewards a short game. Hitting the fairway is key this week, last week you had fairways you could land a 747 on. They changed the cut in the Bermuda rough from 2.25 inches to 3 inches in 2023 and that stays. Driving accuracy will count as well as approach from 125-175. The goal is to hit the tree lined narrow fairways, then a decent swing into the Bermuda greens, and finally to putt your ass off to score a ton of DFS points. After only 7 weeks of PGA off season, we are back baby! Welcome to the Sentry Ownership Projections. This is a signature event of past champions as well as top 50 golfers from 2024. There are currently 60 golfers who will tee it up in Hawaii and it’s a no cut event. The big news is Scotty is out. There is no truth to the rumor that he cut himself while trying to stab a Chucky Cheese security guard. Maybe those types of uniforms bring back bad memories.(smile) The goal is to find the long hitters with a good/great short game who can roll them in from tabletop greens. Welcome to the RSM Ownership Projections. The Mafia is back! The Sea Isle Mafia. That’s the term used for the golfers that live and play golf here year round. They’re used to the two courses, Plantation and Seaside, and the only real hazard is the wind coming in off the Atlantic. Each golfer plays both courses once, then after the cut they play the slightly more difficult Seaside course the last two days. The goal is to make many birdies on the Plantation course and ride out the Seaside course and any weather concerns. The RSM Ownership Projections will assist you in reaching your goals.

***UPDATES**** 7 of the last 9 champions have started Thursday on the Plantation course. Welcome to the Bermuda Ownership Projections. Weather. Right now it’s atrocious. According to different weather predictors, on Thursday we will have high winds and not just rain but thunderstorms thru Saturday. Storms off the Atlantic bite a little harder this time of year. With narrow fairways to begin with, (including a negative 10 points per FG per average PGA course) this should favor bombers over shot shapers. You will need the putter as well. Welcome to the WWTC Ownership Projections. We are in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for the World Wide Technology Tournament. A lot of folks think Mexico exports the most Avocados and Tequila. They do, their biggest export is cars. They are built in Mexican factories and shipped back to the states. It’s their number one export by a mile. One hundred twelve billion dollars a year plus.

Some also think Lee Trevino, aka ‘Supermex” is an export although he was born in Garland Texas. He won 6 majors, the U.S. Open, The British Open and the PGA.
