Welcome to Zak’s Puck Picks!! I started in Cash with Flash Handicapping Challenge and have been heating up. I am super excited to keep the momentum going and win some serious money with all of you!

A big part of my life is my 3 kids. Each one of them holds a different attribute that I would personally use to aid me in deciding what picks to make. My twins Pork and Ribs and their little brother Bean (not their real names but very appropriate nicknames).

Pork is a doer. He is one to dive into a situation and figure it out as it unfolds, usually with great success. In terms of the puck pick, it will be a gut feeling pick and be backed with some stats to explain the feeling.

Ribs, he likes to observe the situation, take in all the information, and then make an educated decision on what his next step will be. His puck pick will be focused around teams that are on hot streaks, either against a team in a matchup or on a winning streak.

Now Bean may sound cute and innocent, but he is a wild man. Not a lot of thought goes into actions and if there is some thought, its geared towards “how can I push Dad’s buttons”. His puck pick will be a little more on the risky side. There will be reasons why I think we should go this way.

As cook by trade and hockey as a passion since I was 3 years old, let’s get some puck picks in the oven and make some dough shall we?

All odds are referenced from vegasinsider.com. I will play ALL of the puck picks I write about in these articles

Puck Record. The month of January #30dayhandicappingchalenge (37-37) article picks (9-11) (2-3 Saturday night)

Pork’s Puck Pick- Chicago Blackhawks -113

The Chicago Blackhawks have been one of the hottest teams in the league over their past 10 games. Johnathan Toews and Dominic Kubalik have formed an incredible goal-scoring tandem and Patrick Kane continues to be a menace with the puck. Winnipeg has been quite up and down losing 6 of their last 10. Even though the Jets seem to have Chicago’s number in the past. I see this hot streak continuing for the Blackhawks. Take them on the money line

Rib’s Puck Pick- New York Rangers -127

The Rangers are coming off of a home and home battle against a very similar defensive-minded team as the Blue Jackets. The results of those two games was a 6-2 victory at home and 3-2 away against the Islanders. CBJ are also on their second game in as many nights, although they walloped the Devils 5-0 and seemed to have an easy time of it, the Devils did have 41 pucks on net. With how well rookie goaltender Igor Shesterkin has looked and the fatigue of Columbus, I believe the Rangers have the edge in this one.

Bean’s Puck Pick- Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Islander: Over 5.5 goals.

For a defensive-minded group in the Islanders, they have sure been allowing a lot of goals in lately letting 6 goals in, in 2 of their last 3 starts. Thomas Greis who is projected to start tomorrow has been less than stellar in the puck stopping department as of late letting in 16 goals in his last 5 games. With the loss of Dougie Hamilton, the Hurricanes did not look great against a dismal Anaheim team, however, they have a lot of firepower on their top two lines capable of putting the puck in the net. In their last 5 home games, they have scored 16 goals. With both of these team’s ability to score goals and struggles to keep the puck out of their nets, I see this going over the 5.5 marks.

I am very excited to join this team of highly skilled people at Win Daily. If you have any further questions, please feel free to find me on the Win Daily Discord chat (@Zak PRB) or on Twitter (@PRBpuckpicks) Thank you to you all for reading, let’s go make some bacon!

Top Expensive Line

Chicago One – Dominik Kubalik, Jonathan Toews

This a tough three-game slate and not a whole lot sticks out. However, this line has continued to be nothing short of absolute fire, playing a major role in Chicago’s demolition of the Toronto Maple Leafs last night. Dominik Kubalik continues to remain underpriced during his torrid stretch and last night even near worthless linemate Drake Caggiula got in on the mix. The Blackhawks will play host to the Winnipeg Jets who continue to allow a ton of goals on the road.

Top Value Line

Carolina Two – Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, Warren Foegele

If you recall last year’s playoffs and earlier this season, the Carolina Hurricanes are the Islanders daddy. They just own this team and at home in Raleigh, it should bring back plenty of painful memories for the Isles, and perhaps some deja vu as well. With Teuvo Teravainen back down on the second line, I think that is the line to target. Sebastian Aho was finally able to break his scoring slump last time out and perhaps this is the beginning of some positive regression for him. In the alternative, you can also pick a line on one of the two sides in the Columbus/Rangers game if looking elsewhere for value. However, at -180, Carolina is easily the highest favorite on the slate.

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Artemi Panarin – Over 2.5 Points – The 2.5 point bet is down to 18/25 after coming up one point short last night. There aren’t too many options available tonight, but I think that these three skaters make the most sense out of who is available.

Top Expensive Line

Florida One – Aleksander Barkov, Evgeni Dadonov, Jonathan Huberdeau

Detroit played all the way into overtime late last night against Pittsburgh. Now they will look to put up a similarly tough performance against the visiting Florida Panthers. However, the fresher Panthers should be able to smash and take advantage of Detroit’s league-leading goals allowed. I like both lines here, as the second line almost always gets a mention in these sorts of spots. That said, with the prices as fair as they are on both sites, we might as well use the star-studded top line of Aleksander Barkov, Evgeni Dadonov, and Jonathan Huberdeau. Florida’s 3.86 implied goals total and status as a -210 favorite are both slate highs.

Top Value Line

Florida Two – Vincent Trocheck, Noel Acciari, Brett Connolly

I just ultimately couldn’t write another value-line over them and the ideal strategy is to make two lines, using one each of Florida’s two lines. If I were to leave one of the three skaters off, it would be Brett Connolly. This line still has nine full line goals over their last ten games and some monster supporting stats. As much as I don’t want to bring them up, it is hard to avoid with a matchup like the one that the Detroit Red Wings present.

1/18 NHL DraftKings Rankings

  1. Auston Matthews – Toronto Maple Leafs – $8,400

  4. Max Pacioretty – Las Vegas Golden Knights – $7,300
  5. Blake Coleman – New Jersey Devils – $5,200
  6. Dominik Kubalik – Chicago Blackhawks – $4,600

  1. Brent Burns – San Jose Sharks – $6,500
  2. Roman Josi – Nashville Predators – $7,800
  3. Connor Murphy – Chicago Blackhawks – $4,500

  5. Rasmus Sandin – Toronto Maple Leafs – $3,500

Welcome, Zak’s Puck Picks!!

In terms of the pick, it will be a gut feeling pick and be backed with some stats to explain the feeling. Ribs, he likes to observe the situation, take in all the information, and then make an educated decision on what his next step will be. His pick will be focused around teams that are on hot streaks, either against a team in a matchup or on a winning streak. Now Bean may sound cute and innocent, but he is a wild man. Not a lot of thought goes into actions and if there is some thought, its geared towards “how can I push Dad’s buttons”. His pick will be a little more on the risky side. There will be reasons why I think we should go this way.

As cook by trade and hockey as a passion since I was 3 years old, let’s get some puck picks in the oven and make some dough shall we?

All odds are referenced from vegasinsider.com. I will play ALL of the picks I write about in these articles

Puck Record. The month of January #30dayhandicappingchalenge (35-34) article picks (7-8) (2-1 Friday night)

Pork’s Puck Pick- Las Vegas Golden Knights -127

The Golden Knights have a better away winning record (11-9-3) than the Canadians do at home (9-12-4). Like that new car smell, the Knights are still riding that new coach wave of energy. The top two lines figured out how to bulge the twine again and Fleury remembered how to stop the puck. They looked really good against Ottawa Thursday night and I see this continuing into the weekend. After losing 6 straight. The Canadians have rattled off 3 wins in a row against Ottawa, Calgary, and Philadelphia. This streak comes to an end however as Vegas is only 1 point out of the top spot in the division and management won’t settle for anything less apparently showing this in the firing of a fantastic coach Gerrard Gallant.

Rib’s Puck Pick- Vancouver -155

Vancouver has been terrific in their own barn with a record of  7-0 in their last home starts. Former Calgary Hitmen Jake Virtanen avoided suspension and will play in this one giving the Canucks some sandpaper and scoring. Jacob Markstrom has won 8 of his last 10 starts and looks solid to continue puck stopping the “nucks” to W’s. The Sharks 0-4 on the road and 0-4 against the Pacific Division in their last 4 games in these categories. The home team has won both matchups this season with Vancouver having the slight edge 7-6 in total scoring.

Bean’s Puck Pick- Panthers PUCK LINE -1.5 (-134)

Whether it’s the top line rolling or the second line. This team can put the puck in the net! I shared a Newsday sports photo on the Discord chat yesterday that shows every stat category they post, Detroit ranks 30th or 31st in the league except for shots against. Detroit is coming off the first leg of a back to back facing a Panthers team that had the night off. I don’t see this game being or staying close, as the Panthers are fighting for every point they can in a tight playoff race.

Zak’s Puck Pick- Calgary -157

Sometimes dads need to get in on the action too don’t they? I have no idea why this line is only at -157. The Flames haven’t lost to Ottawa since October 13, 2017. Like Vegas, Calgary has a better away record (13-11-2) than Ottawa’s home record (11-8-4). With the All-Star game looming and David Rittich representing the Flames, I think Cam Talbot will get the start. Cam has become his old self stopping the puck like he was a Ranger again. While the flames have had some trouble scoring they have been great defensively and have won 6 of their last 7.

Keep an eye on!! Arizona Coyotes +114 (3 PM EST start!)

Here is a fun stat for you. In the year 2019, including their first two matchups of this season, the road team has won every game.  This is the situation Arizona finds themselves in tonight. With Arizona’s stingy defense allowing the league’s 3rd best puck out of a net score of 2.55 goals per game against the Oilers 14th best pick finding twine at 3.042 goals per game, I think the Coyotes claw out of oil country with a win.  My hold up here is who is stopping the puck. If Raanta starts, this bet is something I would play. If it’s Aiden Hill I will not play this bet. I will update as a twitter comment and on discord chat!

Puck Record. The month of January #30dayhandicappingchalenge (33-33) article picks (5-7) (2-4 Thursday night)

Interesting night last night and took some bad beats. Buffalo and Minnesota were surprising victories and we were unlucky Driedger got hurt.

Pork’s Puck Pick- Pittsburgh Penguins -195

Let’s face it, Detroit isn’t a good hockey club, nor does it help that one of their stars are injured in future superstar (my opinion) Anthony Mantha. Detroit’s projected starter Jimmy Howard has a solid vertical L line on Newsday sports, losing his last 10 starts. Every part of me wants to take this game at -1.5, but let’s take the money and run after 2 tough days!

Rib’s Puck Pick- Hurricanes-235

Very likely to be a puck stopping the battle between Petr Mrazek and Ryan Miller. Neither has been doing their puck stopping duties overly well as of late both losing 4 of their last 5. The edge in this matchup is because Mrazek has losses to much better teams and has only allowed 11 goals in that 5 game stretch compared to Miller’s 15. But enough about guys pulling the biscuit it of the basket. The top-end skill on Carolina’s top two lines is far superior to that of Anaheim and should take home the W in their own barn.

Bean’s Puck Pick- TB vs Jets OVER/ UNDER: Take the over 6.5

Let’s try something new here. Winnipeg has a pieced together defense with 3 of their big pieces leaving or partially retiring this summer. With the four of that last five games going for seven or more goals and both team’s ability to fire pucks in twine, I see this game following that trend.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to find me on the Win Daily Discord chat (@Zak PRB) or on Twitter (@PRBpuckpicks) Thank you to you all for reading, let’s go make some bacon!

Top Expensive Line

Pittsburgh Two – Evgeni Malkin, Dominik Simon, Bryan Rust

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the Pittsburgh top line will be the chalk of the night. As of the time of writing, the Penguins have a slate high 3.82 implied goal total. They get a juicy matchup with a Red Wings team that was destroyed by the Islanders their last time out by a score of 8-2. With the return of Sidney Crosby last game, this team is once again a two-line team based on the way the skaters are currently arranged. Be sure to check morning skate and before lock to make sure there are no further alterations. If choosing, I will still lean towards the combination of Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust, although I wish that they were paired with Crosby.

Top Value Line

Carolina One – Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen, Jordan Staal

Carolina comes in the biggest favorite on the slate at -235 with a 3.68 implied goal total. The top line comes in at a reasonable price on both sites so there is no reason to avoid them. The Hurricanes should be able to take care of business at home against the Ducks, so we might as well just use the savings that we get here. No offense to Warren Foegele, but the addition of Teuvo Teravainen to this line gives it some additional firepower. They connected last night and it should be a sign of things to come.

Jacob’s Above Average Plays is hitting the ice with three above-average NHL plays. He has one dog, one favorite, and a totals play that will help you to build that bankroll bigger and bigger.

Take Pittsburgh Penguins +105 versus Boston Bruins (7:00 pm EST, Thursday 16 January 2020)

This is simply a case of one team being injured, and the other getting their star player back. On paper, these teams are nearly identical, and both have above-average offenses and defenses. Pittsburgh ranks sixth in overall offense, while Boston ranks ninth on defense. Pittsburgh ranks eighth overall, while Boston ranks fifth. In the last ten games between these two teams, they have each won five. The difference here is going to be that Pittsburgh is at full strength now that team captain Sidney Crosby is back.

Bruins goalie, Tuukka Rask, is expected to miss this game due to the concussion he sustained in Tuesday’s game against Columbus, and I really do not like their chances against the Penguin’s offense with a backup goalie in. Pittsburgh has won eight of the last ten games, and are averaging three and a half goals per game. Their defense is allowing less than three goals per game (2.72). Boston has lost back to back games and was just shut out by Columbus.

The Penguins are working on catching the Metropolitan’s first-place team: Washington. They are just three games back, and I recently made futures bet on them to win the division – that’s how much I believe they will take first place. Part of that starts tonight, beating Boston who is two games ahead of the Pens in the Eastern Conference. This line opened with Penguins as +120 underdogs before the line dropped to +105, so I’d jump on this line quickly to still get plus money. Take Pittsburgh Penguins +105.

Take Nashville Predators -125 in regulation vs Anaheim Ducks (8:00 pm EST, Thursday 16 January 2020)

I’m going back to the well tonight as I go against the Ducks again. Anaheim is the second-worst team overall in hockey, and the only team that scores fewer goals per game than them is Detroit. They are facing an above-average offense in Nashville, and they are playing on the road where they have won just six games out of the twenty-four played. Nashville hasn’t been playing great overall lately, but they score an above-average amount of goals – especially when playing Anaheim.

Anaheim is just horrendous on offense. They score an average of just 2.3 goals per game when playing on the road, and they have lost all but three games to Nashville in the last ten played. The average score between these two teams in the last ten played has been: Nashville 3.9, Anaheim 2.4. Overall, Anaheim has lost seven of the last eight games and lost five straight road games – including losing five straight road games against Nashville. The Ducks defense isn’t any better. They rank 25th in the NHL in goals allowed on the road, allowing over three goals per game. They simply do not have the firepower to keep up with Nashville, and I doubt they find a way tonight.

With Nashville scoring an average of 3.38 goals per game and Anaheim’s recent form, I just do not see a win in Anaheim’s future tonight. I like Nashville to really beat up on Anaheim tonight as they rebound from a road loss to Edmonton in their last game. I’m taking Nashville to win in the first 60 minutes, and at a much better price than with overtime included. Taking Nashville to win in regulation. Nashville -125.

(For this bet to win Nashville must win in the first 60 minutes. If the game goes to overtime we have a loser. Odds provided by DraftKings.)

Take LA Kings versus Florida Panthers OVER 1.5 Goals First Period -155 (9:00 pm EST, Thursday 16 January 2020)

These are two of the best teams in the NHL when it comes to going over 1.5 goals in the first period. This year, the Kings have gone over in 62.5% of their games (30 of the 48 games played). Florida’s above-average offense loves to pour in goals all game, and that includes the first period. In the last ten games, Florida hasn’t just gone over 1.5 goals seven times, but two goals as well. The Panther offense averages 3.96 goals per game when playing at home, that ranks them second in the NHL in scoring at home.

I think Florida can get this done themselves, but it helps that the Kings go over in two-thirds of their games. This line is going to continue to go up as it gets closer to game time, so I would get this early. Take LA Kings versus Florida Panthers over 1.5 goals in the first period -155.

(For this bet to win the first-period score must be at least two goals. If the score is under two we have a loser. Odds provided by DraftKings.)

Top Expensive Lines

Colorado One – Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Gabriel Landeskog

There are a number of high totals all across the board tonight. One of my favorite ways to go if paying up is with the Colorado Avalanche’s top line. The Avalanche is a -210 favorite with a hefty 3.86 implied goal total. Aaron Dell has been much better this season in the net but this will be a tall ask for him. Since being reunited this line has been crushing as expected, to the tune of eight GF over their last ten games with 115 SATF during that span.

Toronto One – Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner, Zach Hyman

Auston Matthews put up his second career hat trick the other night and the whole line has been on fire. They have put up 10 GF over their last ten games with a league-high 140 SATF within that period. Toronto comes in a -160 home favorite against the Calgary Flames with a 3.59 implied goal total. It feels like chasing a little bit, but they could be in for another big night.

Top Value Lines

Florida Two – Vincent Trocheck, Brett Connolly, Noel Acciari

The Florida Panthers are a substantial -175 home favorite with a 3.69 implied goal total. Most attention will go towards the top line. However, over the last ten games, this line has nine GF, good for third in the NHL during that span. Better yet, their 134 SATF during that span is second to only Toronto’s top line.

Washington Two – Evgeny Kuznetsov, T.J. Oshie, Jakob Vrana

The Capitals second line busted on us the other night, but the price is still very fair, particularly on DraftKings. Washington has the highest implied total at the slate at 4.24 and most of the attention and ownership will be on Alex Ovechkin and the top line. This line still has seven GF over the last ten games so it is not like they have been underperforming by any means.

Welcome to WinDaily’s newest edition of the NHL Stack and Track! In this article, the 1/16 NHL Stack and Track, we will look at the top NHL stacks at each price range and rank the best and the worst goalie spots to target in tonight’s nice 13-game slate.

1/16 NHL Stack Report

  1. Washington Capitals One $$$
    Ovechkin – Backstrom – Wilson (FanDuel: $19,900 | DraftKings: $18,900)
    – Last time these two teams faced off Washington got destroyed. It wasn’t close and it was a complete statistical anomaly. Given the last result, ownership on Washington’s top two lines may take a hit and that provides us with the perfect opportunity to pounce. The stats still give Washington the edge, they will come in tonight with a chip on their shoulder and they will have a much more successful goalie for them in between the pipes.
Ideal Defensive Partner: John Carlson [Kempny also viable] (FD: $7,100 | DK: $7,300)
  2. Tampa Bay Lightning Two $$
    Johnson – Cirelli – Stamkos (FanDuel: $17,600 | DraftKings: $15,700)
    – Stamkos will most likely spend a majority of his ice-time alongside his even-strength linemates who both hold significant value and lower the overall price of the line. Stamkos can also be played alongside his power-play linemates if deciding to go all-in against Minnesota. Tampa has won 11 of their last 12 games and is tied for third in the league for goals per game. This line has the hot hand coming into Minnesota tonight and given that the top line will hold higher ownership, this line can provide a lower owned option for GPP plays.
Ideal Defensive Partner: Mikhail Sergachev (FD: $4,700 | DK: $4,200)
  3. Florida Panthers Two $
    Acciari – Trochek – Connolly (FanDuel: $14,200 | DraftKings: $14,300)
Continuing with the overall theme of this article, this line appears to be the smarter play despite most likely holding significantly lower ownership compared to Florida’s expensive top line. Kopitar has done a solid job at shutting down but the Kings have overall been unable to find the back of the net while letting in an average of over 3 goals against per game. On top of this, the Kings have been awful on the road and Florida has been extremely successful at defending the fort and rookie goalie Chris Driedger has had an excellent start to the season winning five of his first seven games.
Ideal Defensive Partner: Riley Stillman [Risky] (FD: $3,500 | DK: $3,300)

Honorable Mention(s): Nashville Predators Two, Vegas Golden Knights Two

1/16 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best

  1. Ilya Samsonov (FD: $8,200 | DK: $8,300)
  2. Chris Driedger (FD: $7,100 | DK: $8,000)
  3. Semyon Varlamov (FD: $7,800 | DK: $8,400)
Honorable Mention(s): Marc-Andre Fleury, Andrei Vasilevskiy

Worst

  1. John Gibson (FD: $7,700 | DK: $7,200)
  2. Jonathan Quick (FD: $7,100 | DK: $7,100)
  3. Craig Anderson (FD: $7,200 | DK: $7,100)
Honorable Mention(s): Martin Jones, Mackenzie Blackwood (or whoever the Devils Start in goal)

1/16 NHL Wild Card of the Day

Conor Garland (FD: $3,500 | DK: $4,500
– Garland has benefitted tremendously from playing alongside former MVP and first overall selection Taylor Hall. In his past two games Garland has four points (2G, 2A) and seven shots with two blocked shots and an average of 17 minutes of ice-time over those two games. He is hot and hasn’t received quite enough traction to end up on most people’s radars. Tonight, Garland and the Yotes face off against the Canucks who rank among the bottom of the league in goals allowed per game (19th in the league) and allow even more shots against per game. (27th in the league)
Honorable Mention(s): Lindell, Ryan, Girard

Game Stack of the Day:
TOR1/CGY1
HM: BOS2/PIT2

1/16 NHL Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Matthews-Tavares-Gaudreau – Putting Up Points  This matchup has the top stars from tonight’s marquee game stack, without any salary restrictions, the strategy becomes much more flexible. Toronto is the highest-scoring team in the NHL however they rank among the bottom of the league in goals against and Calgary ranks among the bottom of the league in penalty minutes conceded. Given that, this prop has selected the top two players from Toronto’s top power play as well as the Flames hottest player.

Stamkos-Ovechkin-Pacioretty – Putting Up Points  This prop includes some of the best players from tonight’s best lines and each player should be capable of at least getting one point tonight against weak opponents with shaky goaltending. (Minnesota, New Jersey, Ottawa)

Honorable Mention(s): Crosby-Malkin- Pastrnak – Putting Up Points

Jacob’s Above Average Plays is coming off another profitable night with three more above-average plays to grow that bankroll.

Take Chicago Blackhawks +165 versus Montreal Canadiens 7:30 pm EST, Tuesday 15 January 2020)

This line is wrong. Montreal should never be favored this much. They have played terrible hockey for the past month, winning just two out of their last ten games. I understand that the Blackhawks aren’t a team to get overly excited about, but they can steal this game.

Like I just said – Montreal has won just two of their last ten games, and they are scoring an average of only 2.79 goals per game when playing at home. They have lost eight out of their last ten games against the Blackhawks, with an average score of Blackhawks 3 Canadiens 1.6. Included in that is losing the last five in a row against Chicago when playing in Montreal. However, they have an okay defense, so I will give them some credit. They allow an average of 3.15 goals per game. At home, they play above-average defense compared to on the road. The Canadiens are ranked ninth in the NHL in shots allowed on goal when playing at home. I do not like the fact that they have been in bad form recently, and I think the Blackhawks can take advantage of that.

I understand the Blackhawks are not an above-average team. They rank in the middle of the league in scoring on offense and defense, shots on goal, penalty kill, etc. The reason I really like them tonight is I think Montreal is way overpriced, and the Blackhawks have played great this year on back to back games. They have won seven of the last eight games played on back to back nights, and with the win against Ottawa last night – I can see them rolling here. Chicago has won five of their last six games on the road, and are winners of eight out of the last twelve overall.

When you take a big picture look at this game, you can see that there are a lot of things in the Blackhawks favor here. While I was struggling with deciding between the puck line at -165 or the money line +165, I decided to take the Blackhawks to get the outright win here because I really see them beating up on the Canadiens. Take Chicago +165 to win this one outright.

Take St. Louis Blues -180 versus Philadelphia Flyers (8:00 pm EST, Tuesday 15 January 2020)

This game has one team that is just simply better than the other. The Blues are one of the best teams in hockey. While the Flyers are an above-average team and have a good offense, the Blues are just better -, especially at home.

The Flyers play well on both ends of the ice, and I usually like them as a team. They score an average of 3.17 goals per game and allow 3.09. Recently though, it has been a different story. They have won just two of their last five games, and only two of the last six versus the Blues. The teams that the Flyers have recently lost to include: Tampa Bay, Carolina, and Vegas. These teams, including the Blues, are in the upper echelon in the NHL. So, it would appear that Philadelphia does not play well against good teams.

The Blues are the hottest team in the NHL right now. They have won nine straight home games, and have won twenty-two out of their thirty-four games as a favorite. They win with a mix of good offense and an above-average defense. Their defense ranks third in the NHL in goals allowed when playing at home, allowing an average of just 2.29 goals per game. I really just do not think that there is any other team playing better hockey than the Blues right now, so I’m sticking with them to get an easy home win.

The Blues are simply unstoppable right now. I think they continue to dominate at home as they get their tenth home win in a row by beating up on Philly, again.

Take Boston Celtics -10 -110 versus Detroit Pistons (7:00 pm EST, Tuesday 15th January 2020 )

I really like Boston to blow out Detroit tonight. Boston has historically dominated the Pistons – the way both of these teams are playing, it looks like this is set up to continue that trend. Boston has been playing above-average on both ends of the court, and Detroit has been decimated by injury this year. There’s no way their bench players can compete against Celtics starters.

Detroit has covered just three out of the last fifteen games they have played, and are just 2-8 straight up against the Celtics in the last ten games played. They rank 22nd in points scored per game (108.3 ppg), they are also ranked last in the league in rebounds per game. This is a bad combination when playing the Celtics tonight, who rank in the top fifteen in the league in both categories.

Boston comes into this game, winners of two in a row, and they look to make it three versus the struggling Pistons. Boston has won sixteen out of the last nineteen games at home and have won ten out of the last fourteen overall. The Celtics above-average offense is ranked eighth in scoring at home, scoring an average of 115.05 ppg. The Celtics’ great offense goes along great with their stellar defense. The Boston defense is ranked fifth overall in the NBA in defense and is keeping teams to an average of 104.32 ppg. The Celtics are rolling and I see it continuing.

These are just two teams who are trending in very different directions. The Celtics are working for a good playoff spot and the Pistons are about to start working for a good draft pick. Lay the points with Boston. Boston -10.
