Top Point Per Dollar Line “DraftKings”

Pittsburgh Two “Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust, Jason Zucker”

Did Bryan Rust really sleep with the DraftKings NHL pricing analyst’s mother? Is that true? It would be the only explanation why Pittsburgh continues to remain so underpriced. You could also roll with the Penguin’s top line, as they are also strangely discounted for what should be a high total game. However, I like the discount on Evgeni Malkin at $5,500, particularly given that he has recently awakened from his prior slumber. Throw in the aforementioned beast Mr. Rust and the cheap Jason Zucker for only $3,800 and you have yourself a bargain line. Be sure to keep an eye on the latter skater. He left Tuesday’s game early with an injury to his right leg. Nevertheless, any replacement would likely be even cheaper.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “FanDuel”

Calgary One “Matthew Tkachuk, Elias Lindholm, Andrew Mangiapane”

Remember how this goes from Sunday’s article. Senators. Not surprisingly, Calgary is a -165 favorite here. That second line with Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan isn’t a bad alternative on either site. Matthew Tkachuk is so cheap on FanDuel, that the second line is the preferred target.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “DraftKings”

Montreal One “Tyler Toffoli, Phillip Danault, Brendan Gallagher”

The Ottawa Senators really suck, they have a -34 goal differential and only nine points this season, both are NHL worsts “The differential worst by a whopping -18”. Moving forward, our NHL authors can probably just write one word, “Senators”.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “FanDuel”

Montreal 2 Two Man “Nick Suzuki, Josh Anderson”

Jonathan Drouin has been stinking it up lately, so I didn’t write this up as a full line stack. However, Drouin remains on the top power play unit, so you can add him in if you want. The two men listed above have been doing most of this line’s damage. As far as the matchup, “Senators”.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “DraftKings”

Washington One “Alex Ovechkin, Tom Wilson, Evgeny Kuznetsov”

There is a bit of a discount here on Evgeny Kuznetsov from his FanDuel price. When combined with $5,000 Tom Wilson, it allows you to easily afford Alex Ovechkin to fill things out. Ovi has the second highest goal scoring odds on the slate behind Auston Matthews.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “FanDuel”

Arizona One “Conor Garland, Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz”

This is not a customary pick and the Coyotes/Kings game has a relatively low total. Nevertheless, given the pricing here, they provide a decent amount of upside and allow you salary flexibility for the rest of your build. This trio is currently red hot with eight full line goals over their last ten games.

This article focuses on 2/14 NHL Picks for both DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We analyze tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format, so that we can gain an edge on the field at large. Full goal scoring odds and rankings for each position for both sites, are available below.

Sunday 2/14 NHL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back to the Hot Shot! We have a tiny two game Sunday slate to break down. Unfortunately, there is a good amount of time between both games with the first beginning 3 p.m. ET and the second 7 p.m. ET. However, aside from goalie confirmation, there should not be a lot to worry about at night. Nathan MacKinnon is the only player with an injury consideration and had practiced in full this past Thursday.

Notable Goal Scoring Odds

Note: All odds listed +300 or below. All odds are taken from DraftKings Sportsbook, as of the time of writing.

Oshie (+240), Kasperi Kapanen (+265), Evgeny Kuznetsov (+270), Kris Letang (+310), Nicklas Backstrom (+310), John Carlson (+360)

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Image result for john carlson gif

John Carlson has four goals through twelve games and is far more likely to bag an assist. Nonetheless, his +360 goal odds are fairly kind, so I think it’s worth a stab here.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “DraftKings”

Pittsburgh One “Sidney Crosby, Bryan Rust, and Jake Guentzel”, Kris Letang – Defenseman Add-On

Someone on the Pittsburgh Penguins must’ve slept with the DraftKings pricing analyst’s mother. There is no rationale or explanation for why they are all discounted so heavily there, as opposed to FanDuel. However, we might as well take what they give us and stack up the Penguins top line. The three listed above plus Kris Letang all have additional full correlation on the first power play. The dirt cheap second line is viable as well. If you really want to go all in, you can even jam in Evgeni Malkin and stack the entire Pittsburgh top power play unit.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “FanDuel”

Washington One “Alex Ovechkin, Niklas Backstrom, and Tom Wilson”, Defenseman Add-On – John Carlson

If playing on both sites, there is no point rolling with the Penguins on FanDuel, as their DraftKings pricing is far too tasty. Therefore, let’s turn our attention to the other side of that game in Washington. Alex Ovechkin has the top goal scoring odds on the slate and we also get a discount piece in Tom Wilson. When you then factor in Nicklas Backstrom’s moderate salary, it provides us with a fair amount of wiggle room. I don’t recommend necessarily adding John Carlson at his price, but if going all in for correlation, it makes some sense.

2/11 NHL Best Odds

* Nikolaj Ehlers to Score (+200) – 0.25 Units – Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Nikolaj Ehlers has been at the heart of the action recently for the Winnipeg Jets. He has eight goals and six assists across 12 games so far this season. Now he gets to face an Ottawa team that has a league worst -27 goal differential. Over his last five games, he has put six, four, two, five, and four shots on goal. Given the discount we receive on Ehlers, as compared to some of his teammates, we might as well take a stab at a goal here.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “DraftKings”

Winnipeg Three Two Man “Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois”

Between a $6,000 price tag on Kyle Connor and $4,200 on Pierre-Luc Dubois, we’re getting some savings, in relation to the level of talent. Unfortunately, unlike Connor, Winnipeg newcomer Dubois is not on the top power play unit. However, his teammates will be looking to get him the puck as he looks to become further acclimated. It doesn’t hurt that the Jets have the second highest win odds on the slate at -200, hosting the pitiful Ottawa Senators.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “FanDuel”

Winnipeg One “Mark Scheifele, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Andrew Copp”

Sticking with the Winnipeg theme, on FanDuel we may look to simply swap lines. As you can already tell from the rankings, I am a big fan of Mark Scheifele on both sites tonight. Nikolaj Ehlers has been in great form recently and is priced in the mid range. Finally, Andrew Copp helps us get some savings at a $4,000 price that seems like a discount considering his elevated role on top line, as well as recent form. By comparison, Copp is $5,300 on DraftKings.
