Welcome to the Week 11 edition of The Wire Report for the 2021 NFL season.  In this article I’ll be highlighting some of the top players that should still be available in your season long leagues.

Below are my top waiver wire targets:

Rhamondre Stevenson – Running Back – New England Patriots (29.1%  Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

With Damien Harris missing this week with a concussion Rhamondre Stevenson had another chance to showcase his talents.  Boy did he showcase his talents.  Stevenson finished the game with 100 yards rushing and also had 14 yards through the air.  He also had multiple TD’s for the first time this year.  The Patriots are on a short week with a game Thursday night against a poor Falcons’ defense.  Should Harris miss this week I absolutely love Stevenson.  He’s still available in more than 70% of the ESPN leagues.  Grab him if you can.

Cam Newton – Quarterback – Carolina Panthers (12.6% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

“I’m back”, said Cam Newton with his voice and also limited performance as he rushed for a TD and also threw a TD pass.  While he hasn’t been named the starter for the week 11 just yet, there’s a very good chance he’s behind center when the game starts on Sunday.  This should be a reunion that works as the Panther have struggled with their QB position all year.  Up this week is a match up vs. the Washington Football Team.  Although they looked good against the Buccaneers this weekend, they are still giving up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year.

https://twitter.com/bleacherreport/status/1459993327101747212?s=21

Dan Arnold – Tight End – Jacksonville Jaguars (28% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Dan Arnold has quietly become a reliable tight end.  Over the past 5 weeks he’s been targeted 37 times for an average of more than 7 targets per game.  He’s also had at least 60 receiving yards in his last 3 games.  While he hasn’t found the end zone yet this season, it’s going to happen at some point with all the volume he’s getting.  He’s available in 72% of ESPN leagues.  If your main tight end is on bye this week, I highly recommend grabbing Arnold while he’s available.

Wayne Gallman – Running Back –  (.7%Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Wayne Gallman won’t be the main guy in Atlanta.  That belongs to Cordarrelle Patterson.  Gallman has a chance to be a nice complimentary piece to him though.  With Davis’s performance not being the same the last few weeks and the Falcons down big in this game, they turned to Gallman quite a bit on Sunday.  While he had less than 4 yards per carry, he had 15 carries.  That type of volume is extremely important.  If there’s slim pickings for running backs in your league and you’re desperate, Gallman should be able to fill in respectfully.

Darnell Mooney – Wide Receiver – Chicago Bears (46.4% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

With Justin Fields starting to look a little better behind center, Mooney should start to see an uptick in performance.  Year to date he’s been very serviceable.  He’s had at least 5 targets in every game this season except for week 3 against the Browns.  Mooney now has touchdowns in 2 of his last 4 games and gets a Ravens team that is struggling with their identity right now.  He’s only available in about half of ESPN leagues, but if you’re in one of them you should grab him while he’s still available.

https://twitter.com/pickswise/status/1457925926948331523?s=21

Elijah Moore – Wide Receiver – New York Jets (38.1% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Elijah Moore now has 4 straight weeks of at least 6 targets.  He’s becoming a more reliable wide receiver by the week.  Over his last 2 games he’s found the end zone twice. He’s a main cog in an offense that should hopefully get their starting quarterback back this weekend.  The Jets get a susceptible Dolphins defense this weekend.  Look for Moore to continue his solid play.

Rashod Bateman – Wide Receiver – Baltimore Ravens (32.5% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

6, 6, 8, 8.  That’s how many targets Bateman has had in the first 4 weeks of his career.  He shouldn’t be available in 68% of leagues, but he is.  If you’re in one of those leagues you should pick him up.  He’s connected with Lamar Jackson right off the bat and with the lack of a solid running back in Baltimore, Jackson will continue to throw the ball.  Bateman has become an important piece of the offense in his brief career.

Welcome to the Week 10 edition of The Wire Report for the 2021 NFL season.  In this article I’ll be highlighting some of the top players that should still be available in your season long leagues.

Below are my top waiver wire targets:

Donovan People-Jones – Wide Receiver – Cleveland Browns (5.5%  Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Gone from the equation in Cleveland is Odell Beckham Jr.  While the oft injured receiver will be missed, the Browns have a capable option in People-Jones.  People-Jones only caught 2 of his 3 targets this weekend but one of those catches was a beautiful 60 yard TD reception.  He has shown the ability to be a dynamic receiver and will be thrust into the number 2 option behind Jarvis Landry.  Don’t let him sit on your waiver wire too long.

Devonta Freeman – Running Back – Baltimore Ravens (13.8% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Don’t look now, but Devonta Freeman has touchdowns in 3 straight games.  If Latavius Murray continues to miss time with an ankle injury, I really like Freeman’s chances of returning us value while he’s the main back in Baltimore.  He’s shown some big game potential in his career and with a match up against the Dolphins this weekend I like his chances of making it 4 straight with a TD.

Pat Freiermuth – Tight End – Pittsburgh Steelers (32.9% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Pat Freiermuth now has games of 7, 7, and 6 targets in his last 3 games.  In his last 2 he’s connected with Big Ben for 3 touchdowns.  He’s become a more significant piece of the Steelers offense with Ju-Ju on the shelf with an injury.  This week he gets a match up against a Lions team that has given up a couple of big games to tight ends this season.

Elijah Moore – Wide Receiver – New York Jets (15.3% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

In Elijah Moore we have a wide receiver that’s trending in the right direction.  In his last 3 games he’s been targeted 20 times and this weekend had his best game of the year 7 receptions, 84 yards, and 2 touchdowns.  While the match up in week 10 against the Buffalo Bills will be tough, Moore is becoming more involved in this offense and he stands a chance to be productive again.

Jordan Howard – Running Back – Philadelphia Eagles (8.5% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

I’d be lying if I tried to sell you on Jordan Howard being the main back in Philly.  No one knows except Nick Sirianni.  That said, Howard now has back to back weeks of double digit carries and has found the endzone in both games.  What’s most important is that he’s had 13 red zone rushing attempts and those are gold when looking for running backs.  It’s not the easiest of match ups this weekend vs. Denver, but look for Howard to keep rolling.

Jimmy Garoppolo – Quarterback – San Francisco 49ers (6.1% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Jimmy G now has back to back weeks of at least 300 yards passing and with George Kittle being back he should continue his productive ways.  In week 10 Garoppolo gets a scary match up vs. the Rams.  Rams are a tough defense but have shown at times the propensity to give up big games to QB’s.  They have a couple of games giving up over 300 yards passing and a handful in the upper 200’s. Look for Jimmy G to keep rolling with his top target in Kittle back in the mix.

Rashod Bateman – Wide Receiver – Baltimore Ravens (25% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Bateman has become a staple of my waiver wire article.  This makes 3 straight weeks and I’ll continue to write him up until he gets the love he deserves.  He’s played in 3 weeks now and has targets of 6, 6, and this week had his most at 8.  While the yardage and touchdowns aren’t there yet, they will be soon.  He’s built a great rapport with Lamar Jackson and at some point soon, he’s going to be a top producer.  Grab him while you can.

Welcome to the Week 9 edition of The Wire Report for the 2021 NFL season.  In this article I’ll be highlighting some of the top players that should still be available in your season long leagues.

This weekend saw injuries to major offensive players in Jameis Winston and work horse Derrick Henry.  If you have them on your roster you’ll need to a solid substitute. Let’s see if we can find them for you.

Below are my top waiver wire targets:

Boston Scott – Running Back – Philadelphia Eagles (4.9%  Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

With the Eagles up big this past weekend they ran the ball, and they ran it often.  The trio of Scott, Howard, and Gainwell all had at least 12 rushes.  We can probably exclude Gainwell from our thoughts because most of his work came towards the end of the game when it was already out of hand.  Scott split time as the lead back and excelled.  He had 12 rushes for 60 yards and 2 TD’s.  He’s available just about every where and makes for a nice pick up if you’re in need of a running back.

Adrian Peterson/Jeremy McNichols – Running Back – Tennessee Titans (<1% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

The Titans were dealt a huge blow yesterday when they learned that Derrick Henry will be out for 6-10 weeks.  He was the work horse as he was averaging close to 30 carries each week.  It’s still a little early to figure out what the game plan will be this weekend but we do know that the Titans signed AP yesterday and may split time with McNichols.  I would expect us to hear more news today on the Titans plans for this coming weekend.

Carlos Hyde – Running Back – Jacksonville Jaguars (6.7% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

This is highly dependent on the status of James Robinson.  If Robinson were to miss any time with his bruised heel Hyde would make for a solid pick up.  He filled in admirably on Sunday with 32 yards on 9 carries and then 6 receptions for 40 yards.  Hyde has been productive in the past and if he’s the guy this Sunday, he’d stand a good chance to be productive in your lineup.

Jamal Agnew – Wide Receiver – Jacksonville Jaguars (1.7% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Over his last 3 games Agnew has 7, 6, and 12 targets.  He also found the endzone for his first receiving TD of the year.  Agnew has done a nice job filling in for the injured Chark and has clicked very well with Trevor Lawrence.  The only thing standing in my way of picking up Agnew is a match up with the Bills this weekend.

Rashod Bateman – Wide Receiver – Baltimore Ravens (19% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

In just 2 weeks Bateman has become a favorite of Lamar Jackson.  He now has back to back weeks of 6 targets.  This week he was able to do a bit more with them as he finished the game with 80 receiving yards.  He’s built up a nice rapport with Lamar Jackson and could be fun to watch during the playoff stretch.  With the Ravens back in action this weekend after a bye in week 8, Bateman is primed to continue with his solid play.

Tyrod Taylor/Davis Mills – Quarterback – Houston Texans (3.9% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Tyrod Taylor is expected back this week after missing weeks 3-8.  There’s a chance that they could also sit him for another week because that would lead into the bye, but I do think he’s back.  The match up this weekend is great as they are taking on the Miami Dolphins who have really struggled defensively.  Only Washington and KC have given up more points to QB’s than Miami.  Should Taylor miss another week, Davis Mills is another option.

Nico Collins – Wide Receiver – Houston Texans (1.7% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

This may be lazy for writing up Collins again.  But the man is coming off his best week.  He caught all 4 targets this weekend and ended up with 55 yards.  Collins is becoming more of a focal point in this offense.  Over the last 3 weeks he has been targeted 15 times. Collins is available everywhere and he’s well worth taking a flyer on now that he’s become more involved with the offense.

Welcome to the Week 8 edition of The Wire Report for the 2021 NFL season.  In this article I’ll be highlighting some of the top players that should still be available in your season long leagues.

We now have 7 weeks of games in the books.  With injuries starting to mount we’re getting some extremely low owned players thrust into the limelight.

Below are my top waiver wire targets:

Kenneth Gainwell– Running Back – Philadelphia Eagles (26.3%  Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

With Miles Sanders questionable for a week 8 matchup vs. the Detroit Lions we need take a stab at grabbing Kenneth Gainwell if he’s available.  While Gainwell will probably split time with Boston Scott in the backfield, he provides us with some serious upside as he’s someone that has shown the ability to catch the ball.  He has multiple games this year with 8 targets and this past weekend one of those targets resulted in a TD.  With the options starting to get a little thin on the waiver wire, getting a guy like Gainwell is a must.

Brandon Bolden – Running Back – New England Patriots (5.5% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

With James White out for the year with a hip injury, Bolden stepped up in a big way.  Bolden finished Sunday with 6 receptions on 7 targets and 79 yards.  He also found the end zone once.  While his teammate Damien Harris will continue to be the main the guy on the ground, Bolden is the back that will get the targets and he clicked pretty quickly with Jones.  Next week the Patriots get a tough match up vs. the Chargers.  If they get down early we could see them abandon the run and go with a pass heavy offense.  This favors Bolden big time.

Allen Lazard – Wide Receiver – Green Bay Packers (4.9% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

This is dependent on a couple of things.  There is a chance that MVS comes back this week from his hamstring injury.  If he is back, I’m not as big on Lazard.  The next thing is a bit bigger. Davante Adams was placed on the Covid-19 list yesterday and with it being a short week for the Packers, there’s a real strong chance he misses this week.

If one or both of these guys miss the game this week I’m a big fan of picking up Lazard.  Up until the last couple of weeks Lazard has been pretty quiet.  He’s had 2 straight weeks of at least 5 targets and has found the end zone in back to back weeks.  We may have a perfect storm brewing for Lazard to have a monster week.

Cole Kmet – Tight End – Chicago Bears (18.4% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Kmet is starting to “heat” up.  He now has back to back weeks of at least 40 yards and has targets of 5 and 6 in those weeks.  While I doubt that Kmet is going to win you your Fantasy championship, he should fill in admirably this week if you are missing your regular tight end.

I don’t normally recommend players on a bye week, but if you have the room to stash a receiver Bateman should be the guy to pick up.

Teddy Bridgewater – Quarterback – Denver Broncos (21.4% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

Need a QB this week?  Go get Bridgewater.  Bridgewater has shown some serious upside at times this year.  He has multiple games with over 300 yard passing and has thrown multiple TD passes in 5 out of the 7 weeks this year.  This week he gets as good of a match up as there is.  No team has given up more passing TD’s than the WFT this season.  Bridgewater should have a solid week and will make for a solid filler for your QB if they are on bye.

Nico Collins – Wide Receiver – Houston Texans (1.7% Rostered in ESPN Leagues)

This is for Stix.  While I’d pick him up regardless of who is behind center, I would like Collins a lot more if Tyrod Taylor makes his comeback this week.  Collins is starting to get more involved with offense.  Over the last 2 weeks he has been targeted 11 times.  While he hasn’t done much with the targets, he’s still getting them.  Collins is available everywhere and he’s well worth taking a flyer on now that he’s become more involved with the offense.
