THE SLATE

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will be in Miami, Florida today at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the Hooters 250. The green flag is set to drop at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET.

This race is 250-miles, or 167 laps on this 1.5-mile oval.

THE PICKS

FRONTRUNNERS | DraftKings

Chase Briscoe – Briscoe is starting eighth today and is the second-most expensive driver on the slate, but for good reason. He is currently the number one ranked driver and a favorite to capture laps led and fastest laps points today.

Noah Gragson – Noah is starting second today and is the second-ranked driver on the season. He is coming off a second-place and first-place finish in the last two races.

Additional options: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Justin Allgaier, Austin Cindric, Brandon Jones, Ross Chastain, Harrison Burton

FINDING VALUE | DraftKings

Justin Haley – Haley is ranked seventh on the season but is priced at $6,700 starting tenth.

Additional options: Myatt Snider, BJ McLeod, Colin Garrett

Low-ceiling options: Brandon Brown, Ryan Seig, Riley Herbst, Brett Moffitt

These drivers are starting in the top-fifteen, have limited dominator potential, limited point differential upside, but offer salary relief from the drivers listed in the Frontrunners section above.

CAPTURE THE UPSIDE | DraftKings

Anthony Alfredo – Alfredo provides salary relief at $7,900, place differential upside starting twenty-first, and has the ability to finish top-ten today.

Additional options: Jeremy Clements, Michael Annett, Alex Labbe, Bayley Currey

Riskier options: Joe Graf Jr., Colby Howard, Tommy Joe Martins, Matt Mills, Timmy Hill

STARTING TOO HIGH | DraftKings

Jeffrey Earnhardt, JJ Yeley, Jesse Little, Chad Finchum, and Vinnie Miller offer limited upside given their starting positions for today’s race.

NON-LEAD LAPPERS | DraftKings

Roster drivers that will finish on the lead lap and avoid rostering Stephen Leicht and Kody Vanderwal.

THE SLATE

NASCAR Cup Series is back today with the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Virginia. Lock for this slate is at 7 p.m ET.

This race is 263-miles, or 500-laps on this 0.526-mile race track.

Leaving more than $200 of salary remaining will increases your chances of creating a unique lineup. Be sure to include the race winner in your lineup, drivers that finish on the lead lap, drivers that have positive place differential, and capture laps led points.

FRONTRUNNERS

Martin Truex Jr. – Truex won the fall 2019 race at Martinsville while leading 464-laps. Truex has the ability to win this race and capture a significant portion of laps led, if he has a performance similar to last fall.

Brad Keselowski – Keselowski won the spring 2019 race at Martinsville and finished 3rd in the fall race. Starting 6th, Keselowski has the momentum and the ability to battle Truex for the checkered flag.

Additional options: Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Kyle Busch

CAPTURE THE UPSIDE

Austin Dillon – Dillon provides salary relief at $7,300 and place differential upside starting 22nd. In the last three races, Dillon has finished 11th, 6th, and 8th, and Dillon finished 11th in the spring 2019 race at Martinsville.

Additional options: Bubba Wallace, Cole Custer, Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Christopher Bell, Chris Buescher, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Michael McDowell

DEEP PUNTS

Avoid rostering any of the following non-lead lappers: Garrett Smithley, JJ Yeley, Reed Sorenson, Timmy Hill, Joey Gase, Brennan Poole, Quinn Houff, and David Starr.

Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500

We’re getting ready for the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500! The series is setting down to race at the paperclip tonight as we get racing under the lights at Martinsville. This is a race with a lot of laps meaning targeting the dominators will be important to a successful lineup. Contests lock at 7:00PM ET so plan accordingly. Here are some of my DraftKings plays.

TOP TIER | DraftKings

Brad Keselowski, $9500 Nobody has been as consistent the last 6 races here than BK2. 6 top 10s and 5 top 5s and 2 wins. Look for him to see some time out front tonight.

Kyle Busch, $10700 We have started to see Kyle’s salary drop a bit and this is a track where it may be time to take advantage of that. With 5 top 5s in the last 6 he is always a safe option here and he has been running closer to the front of the field the last couple races.

Martin Truex, $10,300 The last of our trio of drivers with 5 top 5s the last 6, Martin has been the most consistent Toyota driver this season. Once out front, MTJ can rack up the laps led points.

Joey Logano, $9900 The last of my core top tier drivers is another Penske car. Logano owns 4 top 10s the last 6 races here and has the aggressive style to jump for the lead early on from the 3rd spot and run away with some laps led points.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION | DraftKings

Ryan Blaney $8400 Starting on the pole can certainly translate to laps led but for Blaney, he has quite a few Martinsville experts starting right behind him. His place differential can only go one way and while he is certainly affordable, there may be better value around his price.

Clint Bowyer $8600 Clint has some very good numbers here and has even shown the past few races that he has the ability to lead races for long stretches. Starting 4th puts him as a GPP play for me but certainly a driver that can boom or bust.

Denny Hamlin $11,900 Denny could very well win this race, however he is listed here because of his salary. $11,900 is a ridiculous amount that really caps your lineups upside. He too becomes a GPP play because of salary constraints.

Christopher Bell $8200 That salary is starting to creep up due to the potential for great place differential. As long as Bell can avoid being lapped early on he should accrue some solid points for your lineup

DRIVERS TO FADE | DraftKings

Jimmie Johnson $12,500 Are you kidding me on that price? For a driver that has 0 top 10s the last 3 years here, I will pass at that salary despite the potential place differential.

Alex Bowman $8900 Bowman has 1 top 10 here the last 4 races and has an average finish around 17th. There is plenty of better value for the salary.

Erik Jones $6500 A recent popular pick due to his bargain price is not in play for me this race. He starts 13 which is right in line with his average starting position here the last 6 races. His average finish during tat span is 21.8 with 0 top 10s.

SALARY SAVER PICKS | DraftKings

Ryan Newman $6800

Ty Dillon $6200

Austin Dillon $6100 GPP (watch for news of availability due to potential child birth, You do not want to roster a driver with a driver change)

Chris Buescher $5600 Chris is my favorite punt tonight. The salary is just too low for his potential here.

Michael McDowell $5100

FanDuel NASCAR DFS | Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 | Atlanta Motor Speedway

Join us in the #nascar Discord channel to discuss your QuikTrip 500 DFS picks. The following is intended for FanDuel GPP purposes only.

Follow Josh on Twitter at @dfs_noshame.

THE SLATE

NASCAR Cup Series returns today with the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia.

This race is 325-laps, or 500.5-miles, on this 1.54-mile track.

The optimal lineup to begin race will be Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola, and Chris Buescher.

THE PICKS | FanDuel

CHASE ELLIOTT – Elliott starts on the pole today and has been one the strongest performing drivers recently. With a victory and four top-five finishes, Elliott offers salary relief from Harvick and Kyle Busch and appears to be in a better position to dominate this race. Starting on the pole does present risk of negative place differential though, so looking for laps led and top-five finish from Chase if he is going to be rostered.

MARTIN TRUEX JR. – Truex had one of the better cars last time out at Atlanta. Starting 11th, Truex provides some place differential upside in comparison to the other top-twelve drivers and is $1,800 less than Harvick.

KEVIN HARVICK – Harvick is the highest-priced driver on this slate and the favorite to win. Starting 9th, Harvick has positive place differential potential and the ability to lead laps in this race. Harvick should garner a considerable amount of ownership today.

BRAD KESELOWSKI – Keselowski is coming off two recent victories and has six top-ten finishes this season. Starting 6th, Keselowski has the potential to lead laps and finish top-five in this race.

JIMMIE JOHNSON – Johnson does not offer the same dominator potential as the other drivers listed above, but starting 15th, and projected to finish 9th, he has the positive place differential upside at a reduced salary. Johnson feels safer than many plays available today, but he’s not a requirement in every line.

CHRISTOPHER BELL – Bell is starting 27th today, provides salary relief, and positive place differential upside. Be careful with punting on FanDuel, so outside of Custer and McDowell, avoid rostering any drivers below Bell.

Additional options: Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Alex Bowman, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Ryan Blaney, Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola, Tyler Reddick, Matt DiBenedetto, Cole Custer, Michael McDowell, Erik Jones, Chris Buescher, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

NON-LEAD LAPPERS

NOTE: Be sure to roster drivers that finish on the lead lap.

The following drivers have not finished on the lead lap during the 2020 Cup Series: Josh Bilicki, Garrett Smithley, BJ McLeod, Timmy Hill (with exception for the Supermarket Heroes 500), Joey Gase, Quinn Houff, JJ Yeley (with exception for the Fan Shield 500), Reed Sorenson, and Brennan Poole (with exception for the Daytona 500).

Timmy Hill finished 19th at the Supermarket Heroes 500, but he does not provide sufficient upside due to the unlikeliness to achieve a top-ten or top-fifteen finish.

We move to the Atlanta Motor Speedway this week for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. This is another 1.5 mile track than has held racing since 1960. Jimmie Johnson once again is the active driver who has had the most success here with 4 wins, tied with legends Richard Petty, Dales Earnhardt, and Bobby Labonte. Brad Keselowski is the only other driver with multiple wins, taking down 2 of the last three in 2017 and 2019.

Hendrick Motorsports leads all owners with 9 wins, followed closely by Joe Gibbs Racing with 7 wins in Atlanta. Neither though have won the last 3 years. Chevrolet leads with 23 wins over the 19 for Ford, but the latter has taken the last 3 races.

Owner Wins at Atlanta Motor Raceway

Hometown Chase Elliott hopes to improve off of his poor Truck Race effort. He is on the Pole with Aric Almirola next to him in the front row. Dominators Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin are also in the top 10. The early race to the lead could be a big factor in who dominates and wins DFS GPP’s.

Starting Grid for Atlanta

My top DFS plays at each price tier this week are listed below. I decided to just lock it in with 41 lineups and not mess with them Sunday AM.

NASCAR DFS High-Priced | DraftKings

  1. Brad Keselowski $8,900 (This price is a bit ridiculous – Should by over $10K)
  2. Jimmie Johnson $10,200
  3. Kevin Harvick $11,700

NASCAR DFS Mid-Tier | DraftKings

  1. Clint Bowyer $8,700
  2. Ryan Blaney $8,700
  3. Alex Bowman $9,100

NASCAR DFS Value Plays | DraftKings

  1. Michael McDowell $5,200
  2. Austin Dillon $6,400
  3. Brennan Poole $4,900

Here is my Driver Usage for Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.

Driver Usage for Sunday’s Race

I also like 5 plays to win the race. I like Clint Bowyer for the WIN, but the 4 other obviously are in the mix.

THE SLATE

The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series returns today with the 12th annual Vet Tix Camping World 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia.

The Truck Series race is set to drop the flag at 1:17 p.m. ET Saturday.

This race will be 130-laps or 200.2 miles on this 1.54-mile track. The stages will be 30-laps, 30-laps, and 70-laps.

THE PICKS

ROSS CHASTAIN – Chastain has the third-highest price on the slate, but starts 27th and is projected to finish 3rd, for 65 points.

CHASE ELLIOTT – Elliott is the second-highest priced driver on the slate, starts 13th, and is projected to finish 2nd for 53 points, before fastest laps and laps led.

KYLE BUSCH – Kyle is the highest-priced driver on the slate, starts 6th, and is projected to finish first for 51 points, before fastest laps and laps led.

BEN RHODES – Rhodes is $7,700, starts 8th, and is projected to finish 7th, for 38 points.

AUSTIN HILL – Hill is $7,200, starts 4th, and is projected to finish 6th, for 36 points.

TY MAJESKI – Majeski is $5,900, starts 18th, and is projected to finish 18th, for 26 points.

Join us in the #nascar Discord channel to discuss your picks for Cheddar’s 300. The following is intended for DraftKings GPP purposes only. Follow Josh on Twitter at @dfs_noshame.

THE SLATE

NASCAR Xfinity Series is back tonight with the Cheddar’s 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. This race is 160-miles, or 300-laps on this 0.533-mile race track.

The optimal lineup last time out at Bristol included Tyler Reddick, Justin Allgaier, John Hunter Nemechek (not Joe), Chase Briscoe, Landon Cassill, and Timmy Hill. The salaries for these drivers was $4,800 to $11,300, the total score was 397 points, and the remaining salary was $900.

THE DRIVERS

AJ ALLMENDINGER – Allmendinger will be starting 27th this evening and is projected to finish 9th. He has the third-highest price tag, after Briscoe and Allgaier, but the place differential upside is hard to pass up on this slate.

JUSTIN ALLGAIER – Allgaier starts 10th tonight and is projected to finish 2nd, after Briscoe. He finished 8th last time out at Bristol, but towards the end of stage 2, he prevailed in a head-to-head battle with Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch has historically dominated this track in both Cup Series and Xfinity Series. Allgaier is my favorite dominator if you are only pairing one with Allmendinger.

CHASE BRISCOE – Briscoe is the favorite to win this race, and will be starting 11th tonight. He is the highest priced driver on this slate, but for GPP purposes, go ahead and plug him in and look to Additional Options to finish off your lineup.

Additional options: BJ MCLEOD, TIMMY HILL, CHAD FINCHUM, RONNIE BASSETT JR., PATRICK EMERLING

For a more balanced build, look to the following drivers:

JUSTIN HALEY, RILEY HERBST, RYAN SIEG, MICHAEL ANNETT, JEREMY CLEMENTS, ALEX LABBE, AUSTIN CINDRIC, DANIEL HEMRIC, NOAH GRAGSON, ROSS CHASTAIN

NASCAR moves to the Bristol Motor Speedway tomorrow for The Supermarket Heroes 500. This half mile track has given me fits in DFS, but I have had a good run at picking the winners. This week will be very tricky on DrafKings as the pricing and starting lineup is very difficult and true to normal form. Brad Keselowski will be on the pole with Almirola at his side. The top 10 is full of drivers who can take this down and is led by Kyle Busch in the 7th spot who has won at Bristol 8 times.

The Supermarket Heroes 500 Starting Lineup

Joe Gibbs has dominated taking 4 of the last 5 races, and 5 of the last 9 with Toyota. Chevrolet has 3 wins in the last 10 with Jimmie Johnson winning 2 of them. Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth are the only other active drivers with a win in the last 10 races.

Winners of the last 10 Food City 500 Races at Bristol

My top DFS plays at each price tier this week are listed below. I am all about those who have had success at this track or I believe can be a dominator. My final Driver Usage will be posted on Twitter Sunday, but my top plays are below.

NASCAR DFS High-Priced | DraftKings

  1. Kyle Busch $12,500
  2. Jimmie Johnson $10,200
  3. Brad Keselowski $9,100

NASCAR DFS Mid-Tier | DraftKings

  1. Kurt Busch $8,300
  2. Ryan Blaney $8,600
  3. Matt Kenseth $8,100

NASCAR DFS Value Plays | DraftKings

  1. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. $7,400
  2. Christopher Bell $7,300
  3. Aric Alirola $6,700

I also like 5 plays to win the race. I am riding Kyle Busch as my pick to win his 3rd Food City 500 in a row this week, but I do like 4 other value plays.

My Picks to WIN at Bristol Sunday

I am also on some plays to finish in the Top 3, Top 5, Top 10, and a couple of driver match ups. 2 units on Kyle Busch and 1 unit on all other plays.

TOP 3 PICKS: Kyle Busch +100; Brad Keselowski +300

TOP 5 PICKS: Kyle Busch -152; Brad Keselowski +170

TOP 10 PICKS: Jimmie Johnson -118, Kurt Busch -137, Ryan Blaney -180

Matchups: Kyle Busch over Chase Elliott -136; Christopher Bell over Austin Dillon +135

THE SLATE

NASCAR Cup Series is back today with the Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. The green flag is set to drop at approximately 3:30 p.m ET.

This race is 266.5-miles, or 500-laps on this 0.533-mile race track.

It takes approximately fifteen seconds to complete a lap at this track, at a speed between 120 and 130 miles per hour.

Seven drivers finished on the lead lap, last time out at Bristol.

The optimal lineup last time out at Bristol included Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Clint Bowyer, Matt DiBenedetto, and Daniel Hemric. The salary range for these drivers was $6,500 to $13,000, the total score was 476.7 points, and the remaining salary was $1,000.

Be sure to include the race winner in your lineup, drivers that finish on the lead lap, drivers with positive place differential, and capture laps led points, if necessary.

FRONTRUNNERS

CHASE ELLIOTT ($13,000, +475) – The favorite to win this race, after Kyle Busch, Elliott will be starting from the sixth position today. Elliott is coming off a Cup Series and Truck Series win this week at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and is ranked third in the driver standings.

Pivots: KEVIN HARVICK ($12,200, +750; starts 8th)

DENNY HAMLIN ($12,000, +750) – Denny has two victories this season, and is coming off a second-place finish in Charlotte. Hamlin will be starting from the tenth position and offers some salary relief from his more expensive Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr.

Pivots: KYLE BUSCH ($14,000, +450; starts 7th); MARTIN TRUEX JR. ($12,500, +1100; starts 5th)

JOEY LOGANO ($11,700, +800) – Logano is second in the driver standings and will be starting third today. Starting third increases Logano’s risk of negative place differential, but positions him to have the opportunity to take the lead early in this race and capture laps led points. Logano’s price offers some salary relief from the other studs on this slate.

Pivots: BRAD KESELOWSKI ($12,300, +1000; starts 1st), ALEX BOWMAN ($11,400, +1800; starts 11th)

CAPTURE THE UPSIDE

JIMMIE JOHNSON ($10,000, +2200)- Johnson is starting twenty-fourth today, and offers positive place differential upside. Johnson has the capability and car to finish the top fifteen today.

Pivots: KURT BUSCH ($10,600, +1600, starts 12th), RYAN BLANEY ($10,300, +1000; starts 4th), ERIK JONES ($9,600, +2200; starts 15th)

CLINT BOWYER ($9,000, +2500) – Bowyer is starting twenty-third today, and offers positive place differential upside as well. Bowyer recorded two top-tens at Bristol in 2019, and also has the capability to climb to a top fifteen finish.

Pivots: MATT KENSETH ($8,000, +3500, starts 14th), TYLER REDDICK ($7,300, +6600; starts 21st), AUSTIN DILLON ($7,000, +15000; starts 20th)

DANIEL SUAREZ ($4,000, +30000) – Suarez is starting thirty-seventh today, and offers positive place differential upside at a minimal price.

Pivots: BUBBA WALLACE JR. ($5,000, +35000; starts 36th), CHRISTOPHER BELL ($6,000, +15000; starts 35th), RICKY STENHOUSE JR. ($6,200, +4500; starts 16th)

STARTING A LITTLE TOO HIGH

NOTE: Avoid rostering drivers that will finish lower then they started.

Keselowski, Truex, and Blaney all face an increased risk of negative place differential due to their high starting positions.

Stenhouse faces an increased risk of negative place differential due to inconsistency in performance.

Additional drivers that were not listed due to the increased risk of negative place differential include William Byron, Matt DiBenedetto, Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman, Chris Buescher, Cole Custer, John Hunter Nemechek, and Michael McDowell.

NON-LEAD LAPPERS

NOTE: Avoid rostering drivers that will not finish on the lead lap.

The following drivers have not finished on the lead lap of a 2020 Cup Series race: Timmy Hill, Garrett Smithley, B.J. McLeod, Gray Gaulding, Joey Gase, Brennan Poole (exception for Daytona 500), Quin Houff, J.J. Yeley (exception for Fan Shield 500), and Bayley Currey.

Ryan Preece has finished on the lead lap in 2 of 8 Cup Series races in 2020.
