Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Friday night’s Truck Series race from Martinsville Speedway. Both Brett Moffitt ($11,400) and Sheldon Creed ($10,400) have clinched their spots in the Championship Four from Phoenix next weekend so they are both driving for nothing this week. Austin Hill ($11,000) is also pretty much locked into the Championship Four so there is pretty much one spot remaining. We will be seeing drivers such as Ben Rhodes ($7,500) and Grant Enfinger ($9,200) who need to win to move on pushing themselves to get the win.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Parker Kligerman ($12,000)

Starting Position: 37th

Kligerman is once again the top overall cash play, and could easily be the highest DraftKings points play overall. In his last five Truck races, Kligerman has three top 10 finishes, and four top 15’s. Kligerman has also had minimal success at Martinsville with two top 10’s in six races and has never finished lower than 21st.

Zane Smith ($10,700)

Starting Position: 2nd

Smith is currently in the 4th and final spot but the best way for him to guarantee his spot in the Championship race will be to win. I think Smith could get the early lead from Creed and be out front for a good portion of the early race. Creed could be tough to pass, but I believe that Creed could try and help his teammate, along with Moffitt, win this race. Smith is a GPP only play in my opinion because of the lack of upside

Sam Mayer ($10,100)

Starting Position: 22nd

Mayer won at Bristol in his last Truck race this season and could steal the win here at Martinsville. Mayer may be a 17 year old kid, but he is one of the best up and coming drivers in NASCAR and could be low owned based on his price. I will be paying up for Mayer on Friday, and he will be in the good majority of my lineups.

Other Options: Sheldon Creed ($10400), Austin Hill ($11,000), Brandon Jones ($9,600)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Todd Gilliland ($8,900)

Starting Position: 20th

I rarely, if ever, played Todd Gilliland this season solely because his upside was pretty low each week. This week is very different, Martinsville is a track that Gilliland has done well at in his career. In five career races here, Gilliland has two top 5’s, including winning this race last season. Gilliland has also never finished lower than 15th in his five races at Martinsville

Spencer Davis ($8,000)

Starting Position: 36th

Davis is a little pricey but I like the play this week for the upside based on his recent history. In his last four races, Davis has three top 20 finishes and has earned at least 34 DKFP in those races.

Other Options: Grant Enfinger ($9,200), Stewart Friesen ($8,400), Derek Kraus ($7,800), Carson Hocevar ($7,600)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Trevor Bayne – $6,600 – P21
  2. Ben Rhodes – $7,500 – P7
  3. Tate Fogleman – $5,600 – P27
  4. BJ McLeod – $4,700 – P28
  5. Timmy Hill – $5,900 – P23
  6. Tanner Gray – $6,900 – P12
  7. Josh Reaume – $6,400 – P31
  8. Raphael Lessard – $7,100 – P10

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Sunday’s Truck Series race from Texas Motor Speedway! This is the first race of a doubleheader of NASCAR action from Texas with the Truck race starting early, 12pm EDT. Make sure you have your lineups set early so you don’t miss lock!

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Austin Hill ($11,200)

Starting Position: 3rd

Hill didn’t work out too well in the Xfinity race on Saturday, but he is one the top drivers in one the top trucks in this series where he is competing for a championship. Hill has been dominant at tracks like Texas with nine top 10’s, six top 5’s, and two wins in his last 10 at 1.5 mile tracks.

Sheldon Creed ($10,100)

Starting Position: 1st

Creed is a championship favorite and he is also my pick to win this race on Sunday. It seems like all the GMS trucks have been fast lately this season and Creed is no exception. Creed has three straight top 5 finishes in his last three races. I know that Creed hasn’t had great success here at Texas with only one top 10, which was in this race last year when he finished 6th

Christian Eckes ($9,700)

Starting Position: 10th

Eckes has a great day earlier this season at Texas where he finished 2nd. It wasn’t just his solid finish that made him one of the top DFS plays, he also led 52 laps that race and had a plus 5 place differential. Eckes offers us up some small place differential again on Sunday, but has a fast KBM Toyota that could easily land him another top 5

Other Options: Zane Smith ($10,800), Dylan Lupton ($9,500)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Tanner Gray ($7,900)

Starting Position: 23rd

After back to back 3rd place finishes, Gray had two very poor finishes after wrecking in both races. I think Sunday is a bounce back day for Gray and he pulls out another 10 finish with top 5 upside.

Derek Kraus ($7,800)

Starting Position: 11th

Kraus will look to finish with a top 10 for the third race in a row on Sunday and I think it happens. I think Kraus is actually underpriced for his upside in this race. When it comes to 1.5 mile tracks, Kraus has been pretty successful with five top 10 finishes in his last 10.

Other Options: Ben Rhodes ($8,600), Chandler Smith ($8,300), Trevor Bayne ($7,500 – GPP Only)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Chase Purdy – $7,100 – P28
  2. Clay Greenfield – $4,900 – P24
  3. Raphael Lessard – $7,300 – P20
  4. Tate Fogeleman – $5,500 – P17
  5. Josh Bilicki – $5,600 – P32
  6. Trey Hutchens – $6,500 – P37

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Sunday afternoon’s Cup Series race from Texas Motor Speedway! After Joey Logano ($9,800) clinched his spot in the final four for the Cup Series Championship at Phoenix in 3 weeks another playoff driver should clinch their spot. I will be fading Logano this week since he literally has nothing to drive for this week and starts 2nd.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Kevin Harvick ($11,000)

Starting Position: 1st

Harvick has been dominant over the past three seasons at Texas in the fall and with him starting on the pole in open air he should have no problem doing that on Sunday. We saw what Harvick could do with his car when he was out front last week and I expect the same to happen on Sunday. Harvick has won the previous three fall Texas races and has led 334 laps in those races.

Ryan Blaney ($10,000)

Starting Position: 10th

Texas has been a strong track for Blaney in recent years and he is one of my favorite plays in this race because of dominator potential as well as place differential upside. Earlier this season Blaney led 150 laps but ended up finishing 7th. Blaney has five top 10 finishes in his last six races at Texas, with the only time he didn’t finish in the top 10 during that stretch being because of an overheating car.

Other Options: Denny Hamlin ($10,800), Chase Elliott ($10,500),

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Kyle Busch ($9,300)

Starting Position: 9th

Will Kyle Busch get a win this season? It’s not looking good, but he does own 3 wins here at Texas so maybe it happens this weekend. Either way, Kyle is a great tournament play for me this week. I don’t think he gets too much ownership because people still don’t trust Busch. Kyle has three straight top 10 finishes at Texas and has led laps in all of those races.

Erik Jones ($8,900)

Starting Position: 17th

Just like last week, Jones comes into Sunday’s race as one of the hottest drivers in the Cup Series. Texas is also a track that Jones has had incredible success at. Jones has six straight top 10 finishes and three top 5 finishes in that stretch. I am going to be overweight on Jones this week and not worry about it one bit

William Byron ($8,300)

Starting Position: 11th

Byron is another driver that will most likely carry very low ownership, which is what we want for a driver who has top 5 potential. While he doesn’t offer the place differential drivers like Jones, Jimmie Johnson ($9,400), and Tyler Reddick ($7,900) do, Byron probably has the best chance to finish better and lead laps over the previously mentioned drivers. Byron has finished no worse then 8th in his last 3 races and has led laps in his last 4 races.

Other Options: Jimmie Johnson ($9,400 – 7 wins here, most ever, and has big time PD upside. I don’t love the price but he is playable for GPP and cash IMO), Clint Bowyer ($8,700), Kurt Busch ($8,500 – MUST win to advance, GPP play only), Tyler Reddick ($7,900), Austin Dillon ($7,500)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Ryan Preece – $5,900 – P29 : Had been pumping out top 20’a (6 straight) until last week.
  2. Matt Kenseth – $7,100 – P32 : Failed as chalk last week, going back to the well this week.
  3. Christopher Bell – $7,200 – P15 : Looked really good last week at Kansas and showed a ton of speed
  4. Ryan Newman – $6,400 – P25 : Solid PD play
  5. Ty Dillon – $5,800 – P27 : Top 20 potential, PD upside
  6. Corey Lajoie – $5,600- P28 : Lajoie has top 20 upside, but is best suited for GPP’s

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Saturday afternoons Xfinity Series race from Texas Motor Speedway. On Saturday we have 200 laps of racing to pick up dominator points. I expect the majority of those points to be earned by two drivers while the rest of the field just tries to keep up with them. Austin Cindric ($11,400) is the highest priced driver again this week and I am going to assume he will desperately want to make up for his poor showing after being wrecked early on last week.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Austin Cindric ($11,400)

Starting Position: 7th

Cindric had an early day last weekend in Kansas and I don’t see that happening again this week. I think Cindric has the potential to lead over 100 laps this week, and win. Earlier this season at Texas Cindric won and led 44 laps. In 5 races at Texas, Cindric has never finished lower than 11th, and has three top 5 finishes

Chase Briscoe ($11,100)

Starting Position: 1st

Briscoe has won the last two races at 1.5 mile tracks and led over 150 laps in both those races. Since Briscoe is on the pole he should take the early lead and hold it for a while until Cindric can get passed him. We have so much value in this field on Saturday that rostering both Cindric and Briscoe together (especially in cash) should be easy to do comfortably. I plan on doing this in GPP’s as well because I think they are 1 and 2 in DKFP on Saturday

Other Options: Justin Allgaier ($10,800), Harrison Burton ($10,400), Noah Gragson ($10,100),Anthony Alfredo ($9,600)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Riley Herbst ($9,000)

Starting Position: 19th

Herbst price isn’t ideal for me, but he will probably come in at much lower ownership because of it. I won’t have a ton of exposure to Herbst, probably around 25%, but not because I don’t think he will succeed, but because of the price solely. Herbst had a poor showing early this season at Texas, but that was because of an accident early on.

Austin Hill ($8,100)

Starting Position: 14th

Hill ended up with a 5th place finish last week at Kansas and when he doesn’t get involved in a wreck he has yet to finish worse than 17th in 2020. I don’t see Hill being a popular play at this price and starting 14th which will give us a huge advantage on the field if he pulls out another top 5, or even a top 10.

Other Options: Michael Annett ($8,700), Ryan Sieg ($8,600), Ryan Vargas ($7,500)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

This week the value tier is loaded this week and we will need them to fit in the top tier driver we will need to take down GPP’s.

  1. BJ McLeod – $6,400 – P30
  2. Jeffrey Earnhardt – $5,000 – P21
  3. Jesse Little – $6,600 – P27
  4. Colby Howard – $5,600 – P33
  5. Brandon Brown – $7,400 – P15
  6. Bayley Currey – $5,100 – P24 – GPP ONLY
  7. David Starr – $5,300 – P23
  8. Myatt Snider – $7,200 – P22
  9. Kyle Weatherman – $6,100 – P36 – Starts last, but there is a good chance his car doesn’t make it to the end capping his upside.

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Sunday’s race from Kansas Speedway! This is the second time the Cup Series has been at Kansas this season, Denny Hamlin ($10,600) took the checkered flag, his second Kansas victory in a row. Hamlin is once again a favorite to win this race and he offers minimal place differential starting from P7. There is a ton of great plays in the top price tier this week so we will need to find some value plays to match up with the top tier.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Chase Elliott ($11,200)

Starting Position: 1st

Elliott is starting on the pole this week after his victory last week and is a potential dominator for this race. In his last 6 races at Kansas, Elliott has four top 5 finishes. Elliott is one of my favorite plays in this tier for GPP’s. With him starting on the pole and as the highest priced option he should be lower owned.

Kevin Harvick ($10,400)

Starting Position: 4th

Harvick has dominated mile and a half tracks this season and this race should not be any different. Since 2016 (9 races), Harvick has five top 5 finishes and has led 389 laps (43.2 avg per race). Harvick is my pick to win this race for what its worth.

Kyle Busch ($9,900)

Starting Position: 20th

Kyle Busch is still looking for his first victory in 2020 but I don’t think it happens today. Even though I don’t think he wins this race, Kyle offers up some really good place differential today. Busch is my favorite play today for his price and could end up with the highest score today.

Other Options: Martin Truex Jr. ($11,000), Denny Hamlin ($10,600), Ryan Blaney ($9,700)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Erik Jones ($8,400)

Starting Position: 11th

Jones is quietly one of the hottest drivers in all of NASCAR right now and nobody seems to know it. In his last 6 races, Jones has four top 5 finishes and five top 10’s. Jones probably won’t dominate this race, but he is a decent salary saving option off the top tier and offers some decent place differential today.

Matt DiBenedetto ($7,700)

Starting Position: 18th

Matty D has been running towards the front a lot recently and has been in position to win races but just couldn’t get it done. I love the upside and his ability to push his car to try and get up front every week of late. DiBenedetto could be low owned because of his recent finishes but for GPP’s he is my favorite play in this tier.

Other Options: Alex Bowman ($8,600 – GPP only), Aric Almirola ($8,000), Tyler Reddick ($7,800), Austin Dillon($7,500 – TOO cheap)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Ryan Newman – $6,500 – P28 : 5 top 20’s in his last 7 1.5 mile races
  2. Matt Kenseth – $6,600 – P30 : Good at 1.5 mile tracks this season
  3. John Hunter Nemechek – $6,100 – P32 : Top PD play in this tier
  4. Chris Buescher – $6,700 – P21 : GPP upside
  5. Corey Lajoie – $5,400 – P29 : May be the 2nd best PD upside in this tier
  6. Michael McDowell – $5,700 – P26 : Tend to stay clean at 1.5’s, PD upside
  7. Christopher Bell – $7,200 – P22 : Decent upside for GPP’s
  8. Brennan Poole – $4,700 – P35 : Has finished top 30 in his last 3 1.5 starts

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Saturday’s Xfinity Series from Kansas Speedway. Earlier this year at Kansas Austin Cindric ($10,900) dominated the race leading 131 laps but ended up in 2nd, while Brandon Jones ($9,500) ended up in victory lane.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Chase Briscoe ($11,500)

Starting Position: 6th

Briscoe didn’t have a great day at Kansas in July this year, but he dominated the race at Las Vegas a couple weeks ago. Vegas runs as a similar style track to Kansas and I think Briscoe has the potential to dominate here on Saturday.

Harrison Burton ($10,200)

Starting Position: 18th

Burton offers great place differential upside and also is a potential dark horse to win this race. Earlier this season Burton finished 3rd here at Kansas and led 8 laps. Burton is a safe play in great equipment (JGR) and should easily have a top 10 finish.

Other Options: Austin Cindric ($10,900), Anthony Alfredo ($9,500)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Brett Moffitt ($7,900) and Austin Hill ($7,700) are two great plays in the mid tier this week. Both Moffitt (27th) and Hill (29th) start towards the back and offer some really great place differential upside. Both of these drivers will have run the Truck Series prior to the Xfinity race and could have an advantage because of this. I think Hill is the safer play and therefor I would use him in cash, and stick with Moffitt in GPP’s.

Ryan Sieg ($8,500)

Starting Position: 8th

Sieg is a GPP only play for me this weekend. He doesn’t have the place differential upside we would generally want, but Sieg is in the playoffs and has used pit strategy to get stage points and lead laps towards the end of stages. Sieg definitely has top 10 upside in my opinion, and possibly top 5 potential as well. He is not a safe play, but he will be low owned and could make your lineup different enough for a takedown.

Other Options: Michael Annett ($8,900), Timmy Hill ($8,100)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Jesse Little – $6,000 – P30
  2. Brandon Brown – $7,100 – P16 ( too cheap for the upside here)
  3. Bayley Currey – $5,700 – P32
  4. Josh Reaume – $5,20 – P36
  5. Josh Williams – $6,800 – P23
  6. Jeffrey Earnhardt – $4,700 – P14

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Saturday’s Truck Series race from Kansas Speedway! After a one week hiatus, the trucks head back to track this weekend with 134 laps of playoff racing. Matt Crafton ($9,000) won here in Kansas back in July of this season and will definitely be a contender again on Saturday. I really think Crafton is more a GPP play on Saturday where he starts in the 5th position and could be a low owned dominator in this race after leading 23 laps back in July.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Parker Kligerman ($11,100)

Starting Position: 35th

Kligerman is this weeks expensive chalk place differential play for cash games. Even though he is cash viable, that doesn’t mean we want to fade him in GPP’s. Kligerman could easily be the highest scoring driver in this race and we will want to have some exposure to that. At 1.5 mile tracks this season (2 races) Kligerman has two solid finishes inside the top 20, including a 10th place finish. We are hoping similar or better numbers thhis week.

Christian Eckes ($10,400)

Starting Position: 14th

I love Eckes for place differential upside like Kligerman, but with top 5 finishing potential. In July, Eckes finished 2nd behind Crafton here in the second of back to back Kansas races after finishing 13th in the first race.

Zane Smith ($10,100)

Starting Position: 9th

Zane Smith ran his two career races at Kansas earlier this season and came home with back to back top 10 finishes (6th and 9th) and will look for his 3rd top 10 finish at Kansas this season. Smith’s upside is limited because of his starting position but the GMS trucks are always fast at 1.5 mile tracks and I think there is potential for Smith to win this race on Saturday.

Other Options: Austin Hill ($10,700), Sheldon Creed ($9,900)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Derek Kraus ($8,200)

Starting Position: 12th

Kraus seemingly makes his way into these Truck Series articles weekly and with good reason. Over the last seven races in the series, Kraus has 5 finishes inside the top 15 including three top 10 finishes. Kraus also came home with two top 10 finishes in the Kansas double header earlier this season.

Tanner Gray ($8,000)

Starting Position: 19th

Gray is currently on a string of races where he finished 20th or better nine of eleven races. Included in that stretch was his 18th and then 4th place finishes here at Kansas Speedway back in July. There is plenty of place differential upside here with Gray as well making him my favorite play in this price tier this weekend.

Timothy Peters ($7,700)

Starting Position: 22nd

Peters is in Stewart Friesen’s #52 truck this weekend and should have a really fast truck. I really like Peter’s chances at a top 10 this weekend in this truck and his PD upside combined with his lower price makes him a great play in my eyes.

Other Options: Matt Crafton ($9,000), Ryan Truex ($7,600)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Hailie Deegan – $7,100 – P34
  2. Tyler Hill – $5,900 – P28
  3. David Gravel – $6,500 – P25
  4. Colin Garrett – $5,200 – P20
  5. Tate Fogelman – $5,400 – P23
  6. Spencer Boyd – $5,700 – P31
  7. Austin Wayne Self – $6,200 – P18

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Sunday’s Cup Series race from the Charlotte Roval. This is the Cup Series’ second and final road course race this season. Chase Elliott ($10,600) led the most laps and got the win at the Daytona Road Course earlier this season, making him a favorite to get to victory lane on Sunday. Elliott is probably the best of the top tier, and I will have plenty of exposure.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Ryan Blaney ($10,900)

Starting Position: 24th

Blaney hasn’t had a great run this season, and had a bad day at the Daytona RC earlier this season, but he has raced really well at this track. In his two previous starts here at Charlotte, Blaney has two top ten finishes including the winning here in 2018. I really think Blaney comes away with another top 10 on Sunday and gives you the place differential upside we need in races with very few dominator points available.

Martin Truex Jr. ($10,300)

Starting Position: 7th

Truex is a driver who has faired very well at practically every road course except this one, but what a better time to figure it out than on Sunday. While there is a very good chance Truex advances to the next round of the playoffs, a win here would assure him a spot in the round of 8. Truex has the ability and the equipment to get to the front and challenge Elliott for the early lead and could lead some laps.

Other Options: Chase Elliott ($10,600), Brad Keselowski ($10,100), Kyle Busch ($9,500)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Jimmie Johnson ($9,100)

Starting Position: 30th

Jimmie Johnson starting 30th at a road course is a great play in NASCAR DFS. Is he slightly overpriced? Maybe. But he is worth playing on Sunday in my opinion. Johnson has top 10 upside in this race as he has 20 career top 10 finishes in 39 career road course races.

Michael McDowell ($8,100)

Starting Position: 31st

McDowell is a decent road course driver and will probably garner some lower ownership based off his price. I don’t love the price either for McDowell, but he offers huge place differential points. If he can duplicate his performance from Daytona RC earlier this year where he finished 10th, his career best finish at a RC, he will be one of the top plays on the slate.

Both Ricky Stenhouse Jr ($7,700) and Christopher Bell ($7,500) start towards the rear of the field on Sunday and offer the best place differential upside on the entire slate. They will both be extremely high owned but they could be the good type of chalk plays. I will have plenty of exposure to both of these drivers since I believe they can both finish top 15. Bell is my preferred play of the two because of his previous road course history in the Xfinity Series. Bell has one win, four top 5’s, and five top 10’s in 9 career RC races.

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

For the first time in a while the value tier is not deep and there are not a lot of really good plays. I plan on using minimal plays from his range in my lineups and building more balanced lineups.

  1. Chris Buescher – $6,900 – P21 – Top 5 @Daytona RC, top 20 in both Roval races
  2. Gray Gaulding – $5,100 – P36 – Ran really well on Saturday until late-race issues
  3. Cole Custer – $7,100 – P28 – Won here in the Xfinity Series
  4. Ty Dillon – $5,700 – P17 – Decent RC racer, GPP only
  5. JH Nemechek – $6,000 – P19 – Low Owned GPP play
  6. Matt Kenseth – $6,200 – P23 – Has never raced here but could pull a top 20

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Saturday’s Xfinity Series from the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course, also known as The Roval. This is the 4th road course race in the Xfinity season so we have a good number of races to look to for information on how the field should fair on Saturday. Now since this is NASCAR nothing is ever definite but as long as we don’t see many wrecks (we typically don’t in road courses) we should be ok. If you are in discord you saw I mentioned that it seems DK pricing is a little soft this week with how the starting positions worked out. I really feel there is a path to using 3 drivers priced over $10K in this race that you can field that you can feel comfortable using. There are the same two obvious road course dominators in this race, AJ Allmendinger ($11,500) and Austin Cindric ($11,000), that we are used to seeing at road courses as well as some “ringers”.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Since we are at a road course, both Cindric and Allmendinger are the top choices and both offer up place differential upside. I will be using both of these drivers in multiple lineups on Saturday. If you only want to roster one, I would go with Cindric.

Kaz Grala ($10,100)

Starting Position: 12th

Grala is one driver in this top tier that might go under owned. In the 2020 season we only saw Grala race in one road course race, but he can be considered a pseudo road course ringer. Grala finished 4th in his one RC race in the #21 RCR Chevy this season, but he also had an outstanding showing in the #3 RCR Chevy in the Cup Series when he replaced Austin Dillon. While Dillon was out with a positive COVID-19 test, Grala took the number 3 to the lead briefly before coming home 7th. In 6 career Xfinity Series starts on RC, Grala has two top 5 finishes as well as three top 10’s.

Other Options: Justin Allgaier ($10,700), Chase Briscoe ($10,400)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Preston Pardus ($8,300)

Starting Position: 30th

Pardus may not be as much of a chalk play as someone with his ability starting 30th should be, so you might have some low owned value here. It is tough to get a feel for his ownership, but with him being a lesser known driver in this price range we could see him carry low ownership. In three races this season (all road courses), Pardus has two top 10 finishes. Pardus did race here at The Roval in 2019, but finished 27th.

Myatt Snider ($7,800)

Starting Position: 21st

Snider will be in the #93 car this week again but he does offer some minimal upside on Saturday. I don’t love the play if you are playing cash games, but Snider is a good GPP play. He is in the middle ground where he doesn’t have the upside of a Pardus base don place differential, but he does have top 10 upside and could be the difference in a GPP. Snider does own a top 10 this season (on a RC) when he finished 10th at the Daytona Road Course. In his other 2 road courses races in 2020, Snider finished 32 at Elkhart Lake, but did finish 16th at the Indianapolis RC.

Other Options: Harrison Burton ($8,900), Jeremy Clements ($8,500), Austin Hill ($7,600

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

  1. Jade Buford – $7,400 – P24
  2. Josh Bilicki – $7,000 – P32
  3. Jesse Little – $5,400 – P37
  4. Stephen Leicht – $4,600 – P28
  5. Gray Gualding – $6,000 – P33
  6. Brett Moffitt – $6,700 – P19
  7. Kyle Weatherman – $6,100 – P35
  8. Cody Ware – $5,800 – P38
  9. CJ McLaughlin – $5,100 – P36

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Sunday afternoons Cup Series race from Talladega Super Speedway! This isn’t a typical race where past history on the track means that much and where you can predict what will happen. Like with all Super Speedways it is all about place differential and leaving salary on the table. I would recommend no more than 2 drivers starting inside the top 10, but on average I will have no more than 1 in my lineups. I tend to build my lineups with 1 driver starting inside the top 10 and 1 starting from 11-20th. I will then fill in the rest of my lineup with drivers 21st and back.

I am going to do something a little different this week, instead of breaking down drivers by price I will give you my favorite plays from each qualifying range because pricing isn’t important this week like it is in other weeks because you SHOULD be leaving salary on the table.

NASCAR DFS: Qualifying Pos 1-10

Denny Hamlin ($9,700)

Starting Position: 1st

Denny Hamlin may be starting on the pole so his upside is limited in this race, but he has been very consistent at Super Speedways recently. Hamlin is the Vegas favorite to win this race and could lead a bunch laps early since he will have teammate Martin Truex ($9,300) starting right behind him. Hamlin has made the optimal lineup at 4 of the last 10 Super Speedway races, which is tied for the most in that span. If you are playing Hamlin he should be the ONLY driver you use starting inside the top 10.

Other Options: Joey Logano ($10,300 – P8), Chase Elliott ($10,500 – P10)

NASCAR DFS: Starting Pos 11-20

Ryan Blaney ($9,100)

Starting Position: 14th

Blaney is priced up a little, but he offers enough upside to make value at his salary. Like with Hamlin, Blaney has been pretty solid at SS track over the past few seasons, including his win earlier this season here at Talladega. Blaney has also been in 4 of the last 10 optimal lineups for SS tracks and the 14th starting position has averaged nearly 31 DKFP over the last 6 Super Speedways.

Aric Almirola ($8,500 )

Starting Position: 11th

Almirola has only 2 wins in his Cup series career, both coming at Super Speedways. I know I said you can’t really count on past history at these tracks but there is always an exception, and when you are as good at these tracks as Almirola is, you can use that info. Almirola comes in with eight straight top 10 finishes at Talladega.

Other Options: Jimmie Johnson ($8,600 – P17), Ryan Newman ($6,800 – P19), Chris Buescher – ($6,000 – P15), Matt Kenseth ($5,900 – P20)

NASCAR DFS: Starting Pos 21-39

There are two drivers in this range that are cash game locks and will be in the vast majority of my lineups on Sunday. Both Brendan Gaughan ($9,500) starting from last place, P39, and Ricky Stenhouse ($8,800) and he will start from P26. Stenhouse and Gaughan will probably garner some pretty high ownership %’s but they are going to be the kind of chalk you want to eat. For those worried about Stenhouse, don’t! Stenhouse has finished 23rd or better in 6 of his last 10 races overall and has five top 5 finishes in the last nine races at Talladega.

  1. Ricky Stenhouse – $8,800 – P26
  2. Brendan Gaughan – $9,500 – P39
  3. Tyler Reddick – $7,900 – P30
  4. Corey Lajoie – $6,700 – P29
  5. Bubba Wallace – $7,700 – P27
  6. Ty Dillon – $6,300 – P28
  7. Ryan Preece – $6,500 – P25
  8. Michael McDowell – $5,700 – P24
  9. Justin Haley – $5,400 – P35
  10. William Byron – $8,900 – P21
  11. John Hunter Nemechek – $5,600 – P23
