This report will provide NFL DFS running back options for the Week Seven 11-game main slate. Running backs will be broken down into three tiers, high, mid, and low. I will also include punt plays.

High Tier

NFL DFS Running Back: Dalvin Cook (MIN) ($8300 FD|$8000 DK)

The Detroit Lions have quietly fallen down the ladder, now allowing over 130 rushing yards per game on the ground. Their bottom five run defense will face a tall task in trying to slow down Dalvin Cook. The Vikings offensive line has been phenomenal, allowing runners to average 5.43 YPC. Cook has 23 receptions for 213 yards and 583 yards on the ground in 2019. As we all know, he has been nearly impossible to stop even against good run defenses. He is averaging almost 23 fantasy points per game and should have no trouble crushing his steep price tag against a lowly Lions run defense.

NFL DFS Running Back: Leonard Fournette (JAX) ($7900 FD|$7000 DK)

I’m fairly certain I was laughed at by some of my colleagues when I said Leonard Fournette would have a great bounce back season. Well look, who’s laughing now! Fournette has 584 rushing yards, which is third best in the league. I am more in tune with his involvement in the pass game now, he has 26 receptions for 189 yards. It is also worth noting he see’s the third most red zone touches of any RB in the league. He will face off against the worst run defense in the NFL. The Dolphins? No. The Bengals. The Bengals allow 184 yards per game on the ground and surrender an average of 5.6 YPC. This is a no brainer, lock in Fournette.

NFL DFS Running Back: Saquon Barkley (NYG) ($8600 FD|$8900 DK)

Saquon Barkley practiced in full on Wednesday, so he is officially a go against the Cardinals this week. I am not crazy about the price tag coming off of injury, but he has no restrictions and quite frankly, it’s Saquon Barkley. Prior to his injury, Barkley avearged 6.5 yards per touch and saw nearly an 80% opportunity share within the offense. Arizona ranks near the bottom against the run, they allow over 4.40 yards per carry and 132 yards per game. It is worth noting that Patrick Peterson is back for the Cardinals this week.

Honorable Mention: David Johnson (Ques.) (ARI) ($7400 FD|$7800)

Mid Tier

NFL DFS Running Back: Mark Ingram (BAL) ($7500 FD|$6600 DK)

Last week we had a slew of mid tier priced RB’s that made lineup construction fairly easy. This week is a different story, I feel more comfortable staying out of the 6k threshold, but Ingram is still a good option. Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards are always going to be there to eat into Ingram’s workload but he has been so efficient in the red zone that it gives him one of the safest floors. He has found pay dirt two weeks in a row and shouldn’t have a problem this week against the Seahawks who just surrendered 157 yards on the ground against the Browns. Mark Ingram has 87 carries for 424 yards and seven TDs.

NFL DFS Running Back: Josh Jacobs (OAK) ($6700 FD|$5000 DK)

The Green Bay defense has tightened up a bit the last couple of games. They still allow nearly five yards per carry and 124 yards per game on the ground. Josh Jacobs saw a monster workload against a tough Bears defense but still managed 123 yards and two TDs on 26 carries. He has 430 yards on 88 carries and four touchdowns in 2019. Jon Gruden clearly loves using Jacobs and he has a palatable price tag, especially on DK.

Honorable Mention: Tevin Coleman (SFO) ($6200 FD|$5600)

Low Tier & Punt Plays

NFL DFS Running Back: Devin Singletary (BUF) ($5800 FD|$5400 DK)

After going down with a hamstring injury in Week Two, Devin Singletary looks to be back to full health, logging a full practice on Wednesday. He only had ten carries before he went down, but still averaged nearly 11 YPC. He will face the lowly Miami Dolphins who allow over 4.8 YPC and 170 yards per game on the ground.

NFL DFS Running Back: Chase Edmonds (ARI) ($5500 FD|$4700 DK)

I’m listing Chase Edmonds mainly due to the new injury to David Johnson. Just a situation that needs to be monitored. If Edmonds get the nod he is a great cheap option and would be big part of the passing offense. Even though DJ saw 75% of the snaps in Week Six, Edmonds still had 67 all-purpose yards and a TD, easily paying off his cheap tag. Keep him on your radar just in case DJ indeed is out this Sunday.

Honorable Mention (Punt): Matt Breida ($5600 FD|$5300 DK)

This report will provide NFL DFS running back options for the Week Four 12-game main slate. Running backs will be broken down into three tiers, high, mid, and low. I will also include punt plays.

High Tier

NFL DFS Running Back: Christian McCaffrey (CAR) ($9000 FD|$8800 DK)

Christian McCaffrey will be a great option on a week to week basis all season long. He gets another solid matchup against a Texans defense that is allowing runners to average 5.4 yards per carry. CMC has seen 59 carries for 318 yards, 15 receptions for 132 yards, and 12 red zone touches for three touchdowns through three games this season. He always carries a heavy work load with his versatility and power and nothing should change in Week Four.

NFL DFS Running Back: Dalvin Cook (MIN) ($8300 FD|$8300 DK)

Dalvin Cook is off to a hot start and I couldn’t be happier. He is one of my favorite fantasy assets and now that he is healthy I think we can consider him week in and out with top names like CMC and Saquon Barkley. Cook has a league leading 375 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Minnesota is averaging an excellent 5.6 yards per carry and only second fiddle to the Ravens, averaging 193 rushing yards per game. Cook and the Vikings get a tough matchup this week at Soldier Field and the Bears are a top unit against the run, but something has to give right? The low implied total and close spread in this game has me all over Cook. The Vikings have clearly made a huge change on offensive (Gary Kubiak) and have followed through with their commitment to the run. Start Cook with peace of mind knowing he will be in for another big work load.

NFL DFS Running Back: Austin Ekeler (LAC) ($8100 FD|$8000 DK)

If you had a chance to read my breakdown last week then you know that I wasn’t a fan of the Ezekiel Elliott Play. Even though he had 125 yards rushing, he only had 18.9 FPTS on DK. Considering how much you had to spend for him, it wasn’t the best return. I have come to find myself trying to get away from these ridiculous spreads against the Dolphins but it is wise to cover yourself and I do not warrant a full fade, ever. While I am not pleased with his salary on either site, Austin Ekeler presents excellent PPR upside and has big play capability. Ekeler leads all running backs at 208 receiving yards on 19 receptions and has carried 38 times for 160 yards. The Chargers are averaging 5.2 yards per carry and the Dolphins are allowing 5.6 yards per carry. They also allow over 200 rushing yards per game, the worst in the NFL. I can see Justin Jackson being more utilized if this game is to get away from Miami quickly but I still think Ekeler’s floor is pretty safe here.

Mid Tier

NFL DFS Running Back: Marlon Mack (IND) ($7300 FD|$6100 DK)

Despite coming into Week Three’s matchup against the Falcons with a calf injury, Marlon Mack still managed to rush 16 times for 74 yards and one TD. He is not on the injury report this week and gets a great matchup against the Raiders at home. The Colts have been excellent on the ground with nearly 150 yards rushing per game at a 4.9 yard clip. Mack should able to replicate Dalvin Cook’s 110 yard, one TD outing against the Raiders last week. Big boost to Marlon Mack staying off the injury report.

NFL DFS Running Back: Mark Ingram (BAL) ($7800 FD|$6600 DK)

There is not a ton of appeal in the mid-range RB selection so this one may be a little bit of a reach. I don’t typically like to target AFC North division games, but I think after some of the questionable play calling by the Ravens staff last week will have them rethink their commitment to the run. Ingram has been excellent through his first three weeks, rushing 43 times for 257 yards and 6 receptions for 62 yards. He leads all NFL backs with 5 touchdowns.

Honorable Mention: Kerryon Johnson (DET) ($6500 FD|$5400), David Johnson ($6800 FD|$6800 DK).

Low Tier

NFL DFS Running Back: Wayne Gallman Jr. (NYG) ($5800 FD|$4600 DK)

Wayne Gallman Jr. is filling in for Saquon Barkley and will likely be heavy chalk this week, particularly on DK. The Redskins, as we all know have been atrocious to passing and rushing. They are giving up an average of 142 yards per game on the ground and will have to play in New York after a very rough outing against the Bears. I expect this game to be back and forth and high scoring because of poor defense on both teams so I am fine with the Gallman Jr. chalk if you need someone in this range.

NFL DFS Running Back: Devonta Freeman (ATL) ($6200 FD|$5000 DK)

Well, we finally got a somewhat decent performance last week out of Devonta Freeman. He carried 16 times for 88 yards and had three catches for seven yards. This doesn’t scream “play me” but he is obviously making strides and he will have a big game at some point. The Falcons face the Titans who are giving up 119 yards per game on the ground at a 4.8 yard clip.

NFL DFS Running Back: Justin Jackson (LAC) ($6200 FD|$4100 DK)

I don’t really care for Justin Jackson’s price on FD, but I will consider him on DK. Jackson has 18 carries at a 6.8 yard clip. In the event the Chargers get far ahead early against the lowly Dolphins, Jackson could see an uptick in snaps and could easily pay off his $4100 DK salary.

Punts: Outside of the plays I listed above I really have no interest.

Week Two is just hours away, so it’s time to go no-huddle and optimize your DFS lineups with the Two-Minute Drill Injury Analysis. Let’s get into it.

WIN DAILY Premium Gold right here! Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!

Joe MixonAnkle- Questionable

We’ll start off the two minute drill with some bad news: The walking news headline Adam Schefter reported (either late last night or early this morning) that Mixon plans to play. The problem? In reference to his ankle, Mixon wants to “test it out” before making a final decision to play or not. So, even though he draws a questionable tag, this is more of game time decision. Not what you want to hear just hours before kick off. Find a better option. (Take a look at his gnarly injury here)

Mark IngramShoulderQuestionable

Next on the list is Mark Ingram, who also draws a questionable, but his situation was not worrisome from the beginning. If the questionable tag scares others in your pool away, slide him into a lineup or two this morning as I’m not concerned about his shoulder and this is another great spot for him. Moving on to the Steelers.

James ConnerIllness- No Designation

The third player on my radar is James Conner. This is just a reminder that he’s a solid mid-salary option this week as his illness is in the rear view mirror. It’s always nice to have good news in the two-minute drill, isn’t it? Now, let’s move on to pass catchers.

Mike Williams- Knee- Questionable

Unfortunately, this next guy is bad news. Williams’ injury continues to be shrouded in mystery and to be quite honest, seems serious. He’s a game time decision with a questionable tag, so I’m avoiding him today despite Adam Schefter reporting he’ll be used in the red zone today. Speaking of big bodied targets, next up on the list is a tight end.

Mark Andrews- Foot- Questionable

It was unexpected when Andrews didn’t practice on Friday. However, considering that the Ravens are confident he’ll play and the fact that his teammate Mark Ingram is also questionable, I’m okay with rolling Andrews out there today. Now, let’s move on to his teammate.

Marquise Brown- Hip- Questionable

By nature, I am very conservative when it comes to player injuries. That’s why I view Hollywood Brown this week as a cautious dart throw in tournaments. I consider him a yellow-light as he was only on the field in week one for 12 snaps. Add in that he missed most of the preseason, continues to be questionable, and the Ravens’ plethora of offensive weapons and you get a yellow light.

Le’Veon Bell-Shoulder-Questionable

Last but not least, let’s talk Bell, who plays on Monday night. Although there are yellow flags surrounding his shoulder, what other offensive options do the Jets have with Darnold out? Start him as a volume play in the show-down slates as the injury might make him slightly less chalk.

That wraps up the week two version of the two-minute injury drill. Good luck this week!
