The 11/1 NBA DFS schedule is built around eight games on the main slate, giving DFSers an abundance of options in a star-filled evening.

Cleveland at Indiana, 7:00 PM Eastern

The Cavaliers don’t offer much offensively, averaging 106 points per game (22nd overall). They are a respectable 13th in scoring defense (108.3). At 26th in pace (100.1), they should have some DFS opportunity against a Pacers team that is 28th in pace (98.7).

Tristan Thompson ($7800 FD) is either playing over his head or the Cavs have finally decided to let him become an offensive option (27.90 PER). The answer is somewhere in between, but he’s a good play tonight, especially since the Pacers won’t have Myles Turner available. Kevin Love ($8800 FD) has only a 20.9 usage rate, but he’s grabbing 16.8 boards and five assists. If he’s scoring 15-17 per game, that’s a stat stuffer worth having in your lineup. Collin Sexton ($4800 FD) is averaging 17.5 points but if you’re not getting assists from your point guard, well…

Best Play — Thompson. Dud — Sexton. Sleeper — Larry Nance ($6000, FD)

The Pacers are doing some damn good underachieving thus far. The offense is 24th in scoring (105.3), which offsets its 12th-ranked scoring defense (108.3). As mentioned, they’re running at a very slow pace with a middle-of-the-pack offensive rating of 106.7 (16th).

One could only imagine how worse things would be for the Pacers if Malcolm Brogdon ($9200 FD) wasn’t playing at an elite level. Brogdon has increased his usage rate by a third, going from a modest 20 last season to his current 30. The question will be whether he can maintain that pace as the focal point of the offense. Domantas Sabonis ($8800 FD) is playing like his numbers suggested he could: as a 20-10 player. He’s only playing at a 24.9 usage rate, and I’m betting it goes up as long as Turner is out. T.J. Warren ($6300 FD) is playing at a very disappointing level. I would have never expected he’d be playing at a PER below 10. Jeremy Lamb ($6400 FD) has been decent, but barely moves the DFS needle.

Stud — Brogdon. Dud — Warren. Sleeper — Justin Holiday ($3800 FD)

Houston at Brooklyn, 7:00 PM Eastern

The Rockets are first in offensive rating and 29th in defensive rating. They will not bore you. They are also a gateway to big DFS money tonight because they’re not going to take their foot off the gas and will dare the Nets to play at track meet-level.

This has become Russell Westbrook’s team. No kidding. James Harden ($11,000 DK) is playing as if he’s the sidekick to Westbrook ($9800 DK) instead of the other way around. Harden is blowing off the doors with a 40.8 usage but is playing below expectations. I’m not paying for him tonight. I will, however, pay for Westbrook, who already has a pair of triple-doubles. Consider pairing Westbrook with Clint Capela ($7400 DK), who puts up solid numbers nightly despite a usage rate under 20. P.J. Tucker ($4700 DK) is fun to watch as an undersized four. This could be a game to add him to a few lineups.

Stud — Westbrook. Dud — Eric Gordon ($4000 DK). Sleeper — Tucker

This will be a great game for some stacking, as the Nets are 10th in offensive rating and are also 10th in pace. Brooklyn will be more than willing to trade shots with Houston, so buckle up.

Obviously, it begins with Kyrie Irving ($9000 DK), who is playing One Man Gang-like DFS. His 37.4 Usage rate is high, but most of us would have imagined a higher total. He’ll get his 50+ DKP tonight, and the only way that happens is if he’s injured or in foul trouble. As mentioned before, I love Jarrett Allen ($5000 DK), and it’s beginning to look like the Nets are willing to give him more minutes. He’d be a good sidekick for Irving. Caris LeVert ($6000 DK) makes for an interesting play.

Stud — Irving. Dud — Taurean Prince ($4900 DK). Sleeper — Allen.

Milwaukee at Orlando, 7:30 PM Eastern

The Bucks run the third-highest pace in the league and sport an offensive rating ranked eighth overall. Defensively, their rating is 15th, so there’s some room for improvement.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,800 FD) is obviously the engine of the Bucks and is among the most expensive players on the slate. He’s a double-double lock who’s also adding eight assists and a steal per night. Khris Middleton ($7300 FD) becomes more valuable now that he’s grabbing nearly seven boards per night. Brook Lopez ($5600 FD) is a bonus with blocked shots, but you can’t trust a center who can’t give you boards. Eric Bledsoe ($6300 FD) has a PER under 10. You may not buy into PER as much as I do, but a starter below 10 PER isn’t going to carry you to DFS glory.

Stud — Antetokounmpo. Dud — Bledsoe. Sleeper — Middleton.

Only two teams are averaging fewer than 100 points per game. The Magic happen to be one of them. They also happen to be the worst scoring offense in the league at 95.8 points per game. Needless to say, there’s not a lot of DFS gold to be found here.

You can count on the double-double from Nikola Vucevic ($8700 FD), and he’s a good bet to hit his 35 FDP. Beyond that, the only other Magic player to be excited about is Jonathan Isaac ($6600 FD), who has an embarrassingly low 15.5 Usage rate. On a team as bad as Orlando, Issac needs to be at least in the mid-20s in UR. Since he’s not, that means players like Aaron Gordon ($6700 FD), Evan Fournier ($5000 FD) and D.J. Augustin ($4100 FD) are hoarding usage while producing at poor levels. That has to change.

Stud — Vucevic. Dud — Gordon. Sleeper — Isaac.

New York at Boston, 7:30 PM

For all the flashes of potential, the Knicks are 28th in scoring and 26th in offensive rating. They’re 25th in pace. In short: little has changed with the Knicks.

You still have to strongly consider RJ Barrett ($6600 DK), whose PER doesn’t quite match up to his impressive DFS numbers. He’s a rookie who’s playing over expectation, yet this clash against the Celtics will give us an indication of whether he’s a legit DFS option or if he thrives off lesser competition. Mitchell Robinson ($5200 DK) can’t be trusted until his ankles get healthy. He’s not going to get off the court, so just play him at your own risk. Julius Randle ($7600 DK) is up and down. He was up on Wednesday, but I see more down tonight. Bobby Portis ($5400 DK) could surprise off the bench.

Stud — Barrett. Dud — Robinson. Sleeper — Portis.

Boston sits in the middle ground when it comes to pace but they are ninth in defensive rating, which makes this a challenge if you’re considering to play a Knicks player or two.

This is Jayson Tatum’s team. Tatum ($7000 DK) is second to Kemba Walker ($8400 DK) in scoring, but he’s adding a pair of steals on the defensive end to go along with what he does on offense. Walker is adding a surprising five boards a night but is getting less than four assists per night. Jaylen Brown ($5600 DK) is questionable tonight, which is disappointing since I thought he was the sleeper in this lineup. Gordon Hayward ($6100 DK) is getting heavy minutes thus far, a very good sign he’s beyond his near career-ending injury two years ago.

Stud — Tatum. Dud — Marcus Smart ($4900 DK). Sleeper — Hayward.

Detroit at Chicago, 8:00 PM Eastern

Don’t count on this game being a run and gun affair. The Pistons are 21st in pace, just above the Bulls, who are ranked 23rd. Detroit is a surprising 15th in offensive rating but sit at 24th in defensive rating.

You know what you’ll get from Andre Drummond ($10,100 FD). You have to ask yourself if his 50.97 FDP is worth it. Derrick Rose ($5700 FD) is looking like the Derrick Rose we all wished he could have been, but he’s dealing with a bad hammy and may sit out tonight. Reggie Jackson ($4600 FD) is also out, which means the Pistons are going to need a little more production from Luke Kennard ($4900 FD). The Pistons have four players who have started at least three games with PERs lower than 10, which doesn’t bode well for DFS users.

Stud — Drummond. Dud — Markeiff Morris ($4400 FD). Sleeper — Kennard.

The Bulls sit in the bottom third in most categories, but if they were pick up the pace, you could begin to feel good about the young cornerstones of the lineup.

Bad thumb or not, Wendell Carter Jr. ($6600) has made marked improvement and could be a reliable DFS option if he can get his Usage rate beyond 19. I do like the pairing of him and Lauri Markkanen ($7300 FD), who has a 26.9 Usage rate and the caliber of game that could see him really thrive if he hits above 30 in UR. Zach LaVine ($7600 FD) tops the team at 28.8 UR and his strong start is a good sign that he’s becoming a good DFS option on most nights. Otto Porter ($5500 FD) is stealing money right now. Don’t let him steal yours’ by putting him in your lineup.

Stud — LaVine. Dud — Porter. Sleeper — Carter

LA Lakers at Dallas, 9:30 PM Eastern

The addition of Anthony Davis ($10,600 DK) has made Showtime more like Slowtime, as the Lakers are 22nd in pace. However, they are seventh in offensive rating, which shouldn’t be a shock considering they have a pair of transcendent players in AD and LeBron James ($9900 DK).

What Davis has done is made the Lakers more defensive. LA is seventh in defensive rating, helped by the fact Davis averages three blocked shots per game and role player Dwight Howard ($4700 DK) is rejecting 2.3 shots per night. The Lakers are also getting 8.5 steals per game, which have enhanced the DFS potential of Davis and James. In the end, though, Danny Green ($4300 DK) is the only other Lakers player that can offer value outside of a Showdown format, that is at least until Kyle Kuzma ($6000 DK) makes his season debut tonight.

Stud — Davis. Dud — JaVale McGee ($4000 DK). Sleeper — Green.

Dallas is sitting third in offensive rating but 20th in defensive rating. The Mavs are middle of the road when it comes to pace, but I sense they may like to run a faster pace tonight with their host of younger legs seeking to wear down the Lakers.

Luka Doncic ($9700 DK) hasn’t found his shot over the past two games, hitting just 11 of 34 from the field. He might be wise to reduce his 3-point shooting, as he’s now under 30 percent from beyond the arc. That part of his game is why I’m reluctant to go all-in on him. In the case of Kristaps Porzingis ($8000 DK), I think he’ll rise to the challenge of having Davis guarding him. That should be a game within a game. The Mavs’ offensive success has also been sparked by Delon Wright ($5200), who has been a pleasant surprise as a part-time starter. I am interested to see how much we get from Dwight Powell tonight. I’m not suggesting Powell ($3800 DK), but he’s worth a look for the long haul.

Stud — Porzingis. Dud — Maxi Kleber ($4000 DK). Sleeper — Wright.

Utah at Sacramento, 10:00 PM Eastern

To the shock of no one, the Jazz rank near the bottom in pace, sitting 27th overall. Who cares, really, when you lead the league in defensive rating? However, they are 25th in offensive rating, so the pickings are rather slim here.

Donovan Mitchell ($8300 FD) is scoring 24 points per game, but his FDP continues to dip. Rudy Gobert has had one big game surrounded by three bad outings, as at $8,300 (FD), he’s a bit too much to risk on, even against a thin Kings front court. Mike Conley ($6900 FD) comes off his best game to date as his assists totals begin a stead climb up. Bojan Bagdanovic ($5100 FD) has sleeper potential, especially if this game gets out of hand. Joe Ingles ($5100 FD) has produced three decent games of DFS totals after opening the season with just 9.6 FDP.

Stud — Mitchell. Dud — Conley. Sleeper — Bagdanovic

The Kings are last in offensive rating, while their pace is 20th overall. A defensive rating ranked 27th in the league is going to leave them wide open for exploitation.

There just isn’t a lot to be encouraged about. Marvin Bagley III ($7900 FD) is out until the end of the month. Buddy Hield ($6500 FD) couldn’t hit water on a consistent basis even if you pushed him to the edge of the Pacific Ocean. De’Aaron Fox ($8500 FD) is starting to put it together, but this is a matchup I wouldn’t play him in. This game feels like like it will be in the mid-to-high 90s, and I get the sense Fox’s recent upswing is going to hit a Utah-sized speed bump. I’ve always been a fan of Nemanja Bjelica ($4800 FD). Can someone tell me where I can find Harrison Barnes ($5400 FD). Right now, the only Kings player to rely on is Richaun Holmes ($6500 FD). That’s saying a lot.

Stud — Holmes. Dud — Hield. Sleeper — Bjelica.

San Antonio at Golden State, 10:30 PM Eastern

Pay attention to how the Spurs play this. Chances are good someone (we see you, LaMarcus Aldridge) will sit since the Spurs are playing back-to-back games. This matchup against the Warriors certainly lacks the star power and “Oooh, let me make sure I’m watching” appeal that it once did.

The Spurs are 11th in offensive rating and 13th in defensive rating. They’re also ninth in pace, which blends well with the Warriors, who are fifth. At $7100 (DK), Aldridge is a nice play, provided he does suit up. I am all over Dejounte Murray, who is becoming one of my favorite players to watch. I’m putting Murray ($6400 DK) in a host of my lineups tonight because he’s going to exploit a Warriors backcourt that won’t have Stephen Curry in it. Pairing him and DeMar DeRozan ($7200 DK) is also an option worth considering.

Stud — Murray. Dud — Jakob Poeltl ($3300 FD). Sleeper — Derrick White ($5200).

Curry ($9600 DK) and Kevon Looney ($4900 DK) are both out. That means opportunity abounds for a host of young faces who are going to have to carry the shell of the now-departed dynasty. The Warriors have had pride in their defense. Not so much these days, as their 118.1 defensive rating is last in the league.

Obviously, this is Draymond Green ($7700 DK) leading the way. He’s going to have some huge usage with Curry out. D’Angelo Russell ($8900 DK) is also going to become a usage monster over the next few weeks. I like the upside of Eric Paschall ($4700 DK), who has massive sleeper potential. The same can be said for Glenn Robinson III ($4000 DK) and Marquese Chriss ($3200 DK), both of who will see more minutes. I wouldn’t be surprised if Willie Cauley-Stein ($4500 DK) gets the start tonight.

Stud — Green. Dud — Chriss. Sleeper — Paschall.

Most Fantasy Points

Jayson Tatum — Averages 41.1 Fantasy points per game at DraftKings.

Mitchell Robinson — Underachieving a bit at 26.8 FP at DraftKings, but is due for a breakout performance.

RJ Barrett — The rookie has been a revelation thus far, putting up 33.7 FP at DraftKings.

Verdict — I’ll put my neck out there and go with Barrett.

Atlanta at Miami, 7:30 PM Eastern

PG Trae Young ($9,000 DraftKings) is coming off a “mere” 41.25 DKP in Monday’s loss to the Sixers. This is his first back-to-back this season, so Young’s usage rate and production will be tested. PF/C John Collins ($7,300 DK) has seen his DKP per game dip from a season-opening 40 to 31 on Monday. From there, you’d be very hard-pressed to find another Hawks player with even a hint of viable NBA DFS Fantasy upside. The next best option would perhaps be SG/SF De’Andre Hunter ($4.700 DK), who comes off a season-best 27.75 DKP on Monday.

Tonight finally gives us the Heat regular season debut of SG/SF Jimmy Butler ($7.700 DK), whose presence greatly impacts the DFS value of the rest of the team. Butler has a high-volume usage rate and will immediately put it to use. PG/SF Justice Winslow ($6,900 DK) is averaging 44 DKP and should be able to maintain that level. As long as PG Goran Dragic ($5,700 DK) is coming off the bench, he’ll have some value. The one loser in the return of Butler will be PG/SG Kendrick Nunn ($6,000 DK) as his minutes will take a hit. PF/C Bam Adebayo ($7,000 DK) has some value as he’ll be able to square up on Collins, who played 29 minutes on Monday.

Dallas at Denver, 9:00 PM Eastern

Like the aforementioned Hawks, the Mavericks are a two-man show for NBA DFS purposes. SG Luka Doncic ($10,400 FanDuel) has the fourth-highest salary for tonight’s FD slate, but his 55.39 FDP makes him a good anchor in what should be a fast-paced game. Doncic averages 29.3 points and 10.3 boards while adding 7.3 assists. PF Kristaps Porzingis ($9,000 FD) averages 44.79 FDP and gets a must-watch matchup against Nuggets C Nikola Jokic ($10,700 FD). Outside of those two, PF Maxi Kleber ($4,900 FD) is an interesting play; he’ll get significant minutes against a Nuggets team playing a back-to-back. You have to save somewhere, and Kleber makes for a bargain.

Jokic played just 28 minutes on Monday, putting up a season-low 34.6 FDP. A strong bounce back is very possible. PG Jamaal Murray ($7,600 FD) played just 30 minutes against the Kings on Monday, which explains the 28.3 FDP. Murray is usually in the 36-39 FDP range, so look for him to hit his usual mark. The Nuggets have a grab bag of somewhat unappealing NBA DFS options. PF Paul Millsap ($5,800 FD), SF Will Barton ($5,000 FD) and SG Gary Harris ($4,900 FD) can each shock a DFS roster with 35-40 points just as easily as they can sink said roster with an 17-19 point outing. If you have to choose between the three, go with Barton.

Memphis at L.A. Lakers, 10:30 PM Eastern

Grizzlies rookie PG Ja Morant ($7,100 DK) comes off a season-best 50 DKP against the Nets and will offer an alternative for those who don’t want to spend on Young or Doncic at the 1-spot. C Jonas Valanciunas ($6,300 DK) also had a season-best 44.75 DKP in the overtime slugfest against Brooklyn and could have some sleeper potential going against Lakers Cs JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard. PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr. ($6,400 DK) is going to see a lot of PF/C Anthony Davis and a taste of PG/SF LeBron James, so skip him tonight. PF/C Brandon Clarke ($5,100 DK) averages 25 DKP off the bench and is an interesting low-end option, especially if Jackson finds himself in foul trouble.

James ($9,700 DK) is averaging 50.9 DKP, bested only by the 51 DKP that Davis ($10,300 DK) is generating thus far. The temptation to pair them is obvious. Congrats to you if you can make that work. Go with James in an either/or scenario as you will get assists and the potential for more threes. Howard ($5,000 DK) scored 39 DKP against the Hornets on Saturday and appears to have found a spot as a threat off the bench. SF/PF Kyle Kuzma ($6,200 DK) remains sidelined and is expected not to play tonight.

Monkey Knife Fight Prop of the Night: Play This Pick Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Over/Under Scoring

Luka Doncic — Fifth in the league with 29.3 points per game, Doncic is shooting 50% from the field. His 3-point game still needs work, as he’s hitting treys at just 31% in the early going.

Nikola Jokic — He’s off to a sluggish start, shooting just 42.6% from the field, including a 4-for-15 night on Monday. Jokic is way better than that, and it won’t take long for him to regain the stroke that saw him average 20.1 points per game last season.

Verdict — I’m taking the under on Doncic, as I can see him being more of a distributor tonight. I’ll take the over on Jokic, who looks set for a possible 55-60 Fantasy point outing.

Toronto at Boston, 7:00 PM Eastern

SF Pascal Siakam ($8,900, FanDuel) was money well spent Opening Night, scoring 62.09 FanDuel points. PG Kyle Lowry ($7,600, FD) remains dependable and a good option considering the higher-salaried PGs available. SF OG Anunoby ($4,700, FD) has intriguing value, especially if this game develops into a faster pace. Of course, this a Fred VanVleet ($6,600, FD) world, especially after he blew up with 54.5 FanDuel points in the win over the Pelicans.

Celtics PG Kemba Walker ($8,200, FD) scored just 14.39 FP on Wednesday. He’s much better than that but he may need a few games to adjust to the Boston system. Add with caution. PF Jayson Tatum ($7,600, FD) is the Celt to grab as comes off 38 FP against the Sixers on Wednesday. SF Gordon Hayward ($6,800, FD) had 30 FP in the opener. There’s more ceiling there now that he’s a year further from his devastating leg injury.

Minnesota at Charlotte, 7:00 PM Eastern

You will pay for C Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,800, DraftKings) and love. KAT opened the season with 50.4 Fantasy points and has a chance to be tonight’s high scorer going agains the Hornets’ thin front court. SG/SF Andrew Wiggins ($6,000, DK) pulled down eight rebounds on Wednesday to bolster his 31.1 FP night. Um, I don’t see Wiggins repeating that act on the glass. PG Jeff Teague ($5,600, DK) is a nice alternative that will be overshadowed by some of the bigger-named at point. SF/PF Robert Covington ($5,600, DK) scored 34 FP without hitting a three or recording an assist, two things he tends to do well. If you don’t go Towns, look to Covington for consideration.

Let’s not get too giddy on Hornets PF P.J. Washington ($6,400, DK), who scored 27 points and knocked down seven threes in Wednesday win over the Bulls. He’s going to be overused tonight, and I’d suggest not following the crowd. I will buy into SF/PF Miles Bridges ($5,900, DK), who scored 36.3 FanDuel points on Wednesday and should be the most consistent Fantasy option as the Hornets find their way. PG Terry Rozier ($6,600, DK) opened with just 15.3 FanDuel points. He’s best left on the NBA DFS bench.

New York at Brooklyn, 7:30 PM Eastern

PF Julius Randle ($8,800, FanDuel) took the mantle and delivered 55.2 FanDuel points in the loss to the Spurs on Wednesday. His chances of a repeat hinges on whether C Mitchell Robinson ($7,000, FD) is a go (ankle). SF Marcus Morris ($5,500, FD) pulled a 40.29 FDP performance, and with the Knicks still trying to find a lead dog offensively, Morris will have every chance to duplicate the effort. PG Elfrid Payton ($5,700, FD) scored 40.1 FDP on Wednesday and has the track record to suggest he can do so consistently if the minutes are afforded to him. If Robinson can’t go, PF Bobby Portis ($5,200) is always an intriguing option.

Nets PG Kyrie Irving ($9,700, FD) had an insane 73.09 FDP in Wednesday’s opener. He’s worthy of starting since the Nets don’t have much to offer beyond him offensively and he’ll be involved in scoring whether he’s scoring the ball or assisting. PF Jarrett Allen ($6,800, FD) had five blocks in the opener. If you don’t want Irving but want to use a Nets player, turn to SF Taurean Prince ($5,600, FD), who tallied 40.1 FDP on Wednesday. He had a strong preseason and is making a strong impression to be the second scoring option behind Irving.

Washington at Oklahoma City, 8:00 PM Eastern

SG Bradley Beal had a so-so 29.3 Fantasy points in the loss at the Mavericks on Wednesday. Beal ($8,600, DraftKings) is way better than that and should bounce back well tonight. C Thomas Bryant ($6,600, DK) tallied 24.3 DKP on Wednesday and is an under the radar contributor at the position. PG Isaiah Thomas ($4,000, DK) will need more than 23 minutes to justify adding him on the roster. Beyond those three, it’s best to skate away from the Wizards.

Regardless of uniform and location, PG Chris Paul ($7,200, DK) is going to deliver, as he put up 51.1 DKP on Wednesday. As long as he’s in OKC, Paul is going to be the top NBA DFS option on the Thunder. Danilo Gallinari ($7,100, DK) can be a 42 DKP per night scorer in this system. Of course, it’s about his health. I’d consider him tonight in what should be a fast-paced game. Foul trouble slowed down Steven Adams ($6,800, DK) in Wednesday’s opener. He still put up 24 DKP but this isn’t the matchup to run with him. PF/C Mike Muscala ($3,200, DK) surprised with 27.3 DKP. I’d wait and see if his minutes and usage are legit. If so, Muscala is going to be a good punt option.

Chicago at Memphis, 8:00 PM Eastern

The 60.4 FDP that Lauri Markkanen ($8,200, FanDuel) scored on Wednesday was a reminder of what he can do when healthy and given a high usage rate. I’d like him a little more if they were facing a more fast-paced team than the Grizzlies. SG Zach LaVine ($8,000, FD) racked up 37.7 FDP and is a good option if you’re looking for a 2 that can stat stuff. PG Kris Dunn ($5,200, FD) appears to be the option at the 1 for right now, a decision I can roll with. I think C Wendell Carter ($6,500, FD) steps up to deliver more than the 24.79 FDP he scored on Wednesday. Colby White ($4,700, FD) came out of nowhere with 30.7 FDP on Wednesday, but I still think Dunn’s the better option at PG.

SF Josh Jackson ($3,500, FD) is an interesting punt play. He scored 23.01 FDP on Wednesday, and there is room available for him to produce more. PF Jaren Jackson ($7,400, FD) had a team-best 26.6 FDP in the opener, and the Grizzlies will do all they can to build this team around him. I won’t be shocked if Jackson put up 40-45 FP tonight. Rookie PG Ja Morant ($7,100, FD) had 24.79 FDP in his debut, but six turnovers are both expected and a turn-off.

Dallas at New Orleans, 8:00 PM Eastern

SG Luka Doncic ($9,200, DraftKings) is my SG of the night. He opened the season with 67 DKP in Wednesday’s win over the Wizards and pairs well with PF/C Kristaps Porzingis ($7,600, DK), who scored 23 points in 29 minutes in his Dallas debut. PG Delon Wright ($4,800, DK) is a strong value play that comes off a 53.8 DKP night on Wednesday. The Mavs want to run, and Wright — who had 11 assists in the opener — is a good fit for their plans.

PG/SG Jrue Holiday ($8,500, DK) had just 26.8 DKP in the opening loss to the Raptors. Against lesser competition, Holiday should see his numbers get close to the 43.6 FP he averaged last season. SF/PF Brandon Ingram ($7,100, DK) tallied 34.8 DKP on Tuesday and looks to be the stat stuffer I envisioned he’d become in New Orleans. On the other hand, PF/C Derrick Favors ($5,700, DK) underachieved on Tuesday, but, like Holiday, sounds like a bounce back candidate against a suspect Mavs defense. Be encouraged to consider PG Lonzo Ball ($6,000, DK), who put up 31.8 DKP on Tuesday. Now that he’s out of the clown show in LA, Ball may finally start living up to the hype.

Phoenix at Denver, 9:00 PM Eastern

There’s a ton of Fantasy points waiting to be picked up in the wake of Suns C Deandre Ayton’s 25-game suspension for violating the league’s drug policy. This is an opportunity for SF Kelly Oubre ($6,400, FanDuel) to really step his game up after opening with 40.29 FDP on Wednesday. SG Devin Booker ($8,800, FD) will also see a hike in his Fantasy scoring, but I feel Dario Saric ($4,600, FD) or SF Mikal Bridges ($4,200, FD) can see significant improvement. For tonight, though, I’d play Booker but love Oubre due to the value and upside. PG Ricky Rubio ($7,000, FD) is a solid play in what should be a high-scoring affair.

Even with foul trouble, Nikola Jokic ($10,800, FD) was productive, although the 34.59 FDP he scored on Wednesday felt somewhat disappointing. Without Ayton to contend with, I’d strongly consider anchoring an NBA DFS lineup tonight around him. PG Jamaal Murray ($7,100, FD) also gives the impression of a better evening even though he put up 30 FDP on Wednesday. SF Will Barton ($5,400, FD) is a good play and a must if going with a Nuggets stack. Like Jokic, PF Paul Millsap ($6,300, FD) should thrive inside without the presence of Ayton looming in the interior. If you’re feeling like this could be a Denver blowout, SG Torrey Craig ($3,800, FD) is a fun punt in a Denver stack.

Portland at Sacramento, 10:00 PM Eastern

PG Damian Lillard ($8,800, DraftKings) shook off a slow start and finished with 52.5 DKP in Wednesday’s loss to the Nuggets. He’ll be a popular choice at the point along with Kyrie Irving. SG C.J. McCollum ($6,200, DK) knocked down five treys on his way to 47.5 DKP. Though expensive, stacking this backcourt should net solid returns tonight. C Hassan Whiteside ($7,200, DK) had nine boards and four blocks to anchor the 37.8 FDP he amassed in his Portland debut. For now, those are the only three Trail Blazers worth considering.

The Kings lost SF/PF Marvin Bagley III with a fractured thumb for the next 4-6 weeks, leaving a void in the lineup. PG D’Aaron Fox struggled in the opening loss to the Suns, yet Fox ($7,900, DK) is worth a second look, especially now that his usage rate will go up with Bagley sidelined. Buddy Hield ($6,700, DK) is questionable with an ankle injury. Richaun Holmes ($3,400, DK) might be a player who benefits from the absence of Bagley. He played 17 minutes in the opener and grabbed five rebounds, but also drew three fouls and score just one point. Watch how the rotation without Bagley looks tonight to get a feel for how to approach the Kings.

Utah at LA Lakers, 10:30 PM Eastern

SG Donovan Mitchell ($8,500, FanDuel) carried the Fantasy load for the Jazz on Wednesday, putting up 52.5 FDP in the win over the Thunder. C Rudy Gobert ($8,800, FD) grossly disappointed his DFS users with a mere 22.79 FDP. Look for a much better outing tonight, as it’s not often the Stifle Tower delivers consecutive slag games. There’s plenty of room for improvement from PG Michael Conley ($7,300, FD), who had just 13.5 FDP in his Jazz debut. PG Emmanuel Mudiay ($3,700, FD) racked up 24.89 FDP off the bench but won’t offer enough to merit serious consideration.

Raise your hand if you had SF Danny Green ($4,800, FD) outscoring LeBron James? The answer is none of you. Stay away from him since that was more fluke than reality. James ($11,200, FD) scored 43 FDP, two less than Green. There’s a 50-60 FDP night coming this evening. PF Anthony Davis ($12,000) scored 49.29 FDP in his Lakers debut. Creatives can find ways to pair Davis and James yet will have to be deadly accurate on filling the rest of the roster with bargain-level talent surrounding them.

Scoring Champ

Devin Booker — He scored 22 in the opening win over the Kings but will have the chance at more touches with C Deandre Ayton suspended.

Nikola Jokic — Jokic put up 20 during Wednesday’s win over the Trail Blazers. He’s a good bet but the Nuggets have 5-6 players capable of leading the team in scoring on a given night.

Kelly Oubre — With Ayton suspended, Oubre has the best chance to see his scoring numbers improve.

Verdict — A somewhat easy call here by rolling with Booker.

New Orleans Pelicans at Toronto Raptors

O/U: 231.5 (Raptors -7)

NBA DFS: New Orleans Pelicans

The trade of Anthony Davis to the Lakers brought starters PG Lonzo Ball and SF/PF Brandon Ingram, while a deal with the Jazz brought in PF/C Derrick Favors. The Pels signed SG/SF J.J. Redick to go along with PG/SG Jrue Holiday, the only holdover from the 2018-19 lineup. Oh, yeah: Zion Williamson. Not to worry about him, as the first overall pick of this June’s draft will miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his torn right lateral meniscus.

NBA DFS: Toronto Raptors

Once SF Kawhi Leonard made the decision for a warm reception in L.A., the World Champions began to retool. C Marc Gasol picked up his player option, while young wings Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Stanley Johnson were signed to add depth. PG Kyle Lowry inked a two-year extension, but the future of the franchise was clearly decided last week when PF/C Pascal Siakam signed a four-year, $130 extension, clearly making him the focal point of the team. Veteran PF/C Serge Ibaka is more of a role player at this stage. Siakam isn’t the only youngster the Raptors are counting on, as PG/SG Fred VanVleet and SF/PF OG Anunoby are expected to take bigger roles.

NBA DFS: DraftKings Approach

NBA DFS Captain:

Preferred (in order of preference): Fred VanVleet ($8,700), Pascal Siakam ($14,700), Kyle Lowry ($13,200), Jrue Holiday ($15,600).

NBA DFS Utility:

(Whoever you do not use in Captain is also great in utility): Derrick Favors ($11,400)Brandon Ingram ($12,300), Marc Gasol ($10,800), JJ Redick ($9.300), Lonzo Ball ($10,500), Norman Powell ($6,900), Serge Ibaka ($10,200) Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($4,800).

NBA DFS: FanDuel Approach

NBA DFS MVP:

Pascal Siakam (cash) ($8,000), Jrue Holiday ($8,700), Fred VanVleet ($5,600), Kyle Lowry ($7,600)

Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles Clippers

O/U: 226 (Lakers -2.5)

NBA DFS: Los Angeles Lakers

Eventually, this will be PF Anthony Davis’ team, but SF/soon to be listed as PG LeBron James remains the Alpha Dog on this roster. Speaking of dogs, the rest of the Lakers lineup has plenty of woof-woof. Defensive-minded Avery Bradley is at the two while long-range sniper Danny Green floats between SG/SF. C JaVale McGee completes the lineup but will likely cede critical minutes Dwight Howard, who can still offer rebounds and scoring despite no longer being the shot-blocking presence he once was. The bench gets very, very thin after PG Rajon Rondo.

NBA DFS: Los Angeles Clippers

Predicted to end the Warriors’ iron grip on the Western Conference, the Clippers will be short-handed until SF Paul George debuts in mid-to-late November. For now, SF Kawhi Leonard will stuff stat sheets with his all-around game. There’s considerable firepower off the bench, with 6th Man of the Year SG Lou Williams teaming up with high-volume C Montrezl Harrell and versatile SF Maurice Harkless. PG Patrick Beverley is a defensive bulldog. Promising PG/SG Landry Shamet can score in spurts. C Ivica Zubac has shown flashes of being an underrated presence, and PF JaMychal Green brings energy and the ability to clean the glass.

NBA DFS: DraftKings Approach

NBA DFS Captain:

Preferred (in order of preference): LeBron James ($15,300), Anthony Davis ($16,200), Kawhi Leonard ($13,200), Lou Williams ($11,700).

NBA DFS Utility:

(Whoever you do not use in Captain is also great in utility): Montrezl Harrell ($10,200)Danny Green ($9,300), Patrick Beverley ($8,300), Landry Shamet ($6.300), Ivica Zubac ($7,200), JaVale McGee ($7,500), Dwight Howard ($6,900) Rajon Rondo ($8,700).

NBA DFS: FanDuel Approach

NBA DFS MVP:

LeBron James (cash) ($15,500), Anthony Davis ($17,000), Kawhi Leonard ($14,500), Lou Williams ($11,000)

Kawhi Leonard over 26,5 points — Leonard scored 26.6 points per game last season, a career best and the third time in the last four seasons he has scored at least 20 points per game.

LeBron James under 27.5 points — The career 27.2 points per game scorer was a tad better in 2018-19, averaging 27.4 points per night despite playing a career-low 55 games.
