We ease into the week with a nice four game slate. This slate feels like it is going to be very high variance. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Alexandar Georgiev – Colorado Avalanche: On a night where goalies feel unsafe across the board, Georgiev is one that we can lean on. He appears to carry some of the least risk on the slate, and it still doesn’t feel comfortable. The Avs host the Flames tonight in what should be a winnable game for them.

Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars: The Stars host the Red Wings tonight, and this is a scary, scary pick. Otter has been terrible of late, but he is one of the most talented goalies on the slate. He should be able to bounce back against a Red Wings team that will be rolling out some pretty ugly lines.

Ilya Samsonov – Toronto Maple Leafs: The Leafs head to New York tonight to face off against the Islanders in what should be a decent matchup for them. This is a good spot for Samsonov.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders: This is a good upside spot for Sorokin who has some solid numbers of late. He gets a home matchup tonight against the Leafs, who should fire a ton of shots his way. The Leafs are good at scoring, so this one could be ugly, but will be very valuable in GPP if he is able to keep them at bay.

Others to Consider: Karel Vejmelka (ARI)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Dallas Stars Power Play – Roope Hintz/Jamie Benn/Joe Pavelski/Jason Robertson/Miro Heiskanen: We are operating under the impression that Roope Hintz will be back for the Stars after sitting out last game with an illness. If he does not go, then Wyatt Johnston goes in his place in this play. The Stars are ranked 8th on the power play and the Wings rank 21st on the penalty kill. The best part is that the Wings are second in the league in times shorthanded per game, so there should be plenty of chances for this group.

Toronto Maple Leafs Power Play – Auston Matthews/John Tavares/Mitch Marner/William Nylander/Morgan Rielly: The Leafs have a great power play matchup tonight against the Islanders. They should see plenty of chances, and we know how lethal this unit can be.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Arizona Coyotes 2 – Nick Bjugstad/Lawson Crouse/Matias Maccelli: The second line for the Coyotes has a very solid matchup against the second line for the Sabres. This is a loose matching situation, so they won’t see them full time, but the matchup will be there to set them up for some upside.

Colorado Avalanche 1 – Nathan MacKinnon/Mikko Rantanen/Valeri Nichushkin/Cale Makar: At first glance, this looks like a grade-A matchup for the Avalanche, but once we dig into the numbers, we find that this line might actually be limited tonight. They will most likely garner some ownership, so you may want some in multiple entries. It is Colorado, after all, so there is always upside around this line.

New York Islanders 2 – Brock Nelson/Kyle Palmieri/Pierre Engvall: The Isles second line has a good matchup against the top six for the Leafs, who, as good as they are offensively, aren’t great at defense. In particular, when this line matches up with the top line, they will see their chances.

We are back with another WinDaily Between the Benches Article! This Friday, we have three games going tonight with some interesting matchups to look over. Tonight’s 12/8 NHL slate begins at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Without further ado, let’s get right into it!

12/8 NHL Stack Report

1. Florida Panthers 1 (Reinhart-Barkov-Rodrigues)

— To start off the article, we have one of my favourite teams to rely on for Daily Fantasy this season, the Florida Panthers. They have continued their winning ways from their NHL playoff run last season and have burst into the new season with a 15-8-2 record. Especially their top line, who have really led their offensive charge this season. All three members of the top line are in the top four of the Panthers’ scoring leaders (Rodrigues is one point away from third place), and Reinhart, in particular, has really exploded this season, sitting in 10th in the league for points and second in the league in goals on the year with 17 goals and 15 assists. They are also facing off against a Penguins side who are without Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust and sliding on a three-game losing streak. Not only have the Panthers been red hot, but they are in a great matchup. With the slate as small as it is, I love the Panthers’ top line as a daily fantasy option tonight.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Aaron Ekblad (Honorable Mention(s): Gustav Forsling)

2. Edmonton Oilers 1 (Hyman-McDavid-Nugent-Hopkins)

— The Oilers have the highest implied total of the slate and the highest odds of winning. It’s for good reason, too, as they have really found their form over the last two weeks, winning five straight games and scoring at least five goals in all but one of them (a 3-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets). Over these five games, McDavid has exploded for 16 points (2 goals, 14 assists), and his linemates have benefitted from the boost in product as well, with Hyman recording 11 points over his last five games (7 goals, 4 assists) and Nugent Hopkins scoring five points over his last five games. Of course, this significant production has given the Oilers’ top line a significant price tag. Even though the Oilers’ second line is also a viable option tonight, I cannot ignore the form we have been seeing from the Oilers’ first line as of late. If you can fit them into your fantasy lines, I would recommend adding a piece from this high-performing team into your daily fantasy lineups tonight.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Evan Bouchard (Honorable Mention(s): Mattias Ekholm)

Honorable Mention(s): Minnesota Wild 2 (Boldy-Eriksson Ek-Johansson), Colombus Blue Jackets 1 (Danforth-Jenner-Gaudreau)

12/8 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Sergei Bobrovsky
  2. Stuart Skinner
    Honorable Mention(s): Jet Greaves

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Tristan Jarry
Honorable Mention(s): Jordan Binnington

12/8 NHL Wild Card Targets

Adam Fantilli
– Fantilli was the third-overall pick in last year’s draft and is having an impressive year compared to most of his draft class. Especially as of late, where Fantilli has scored five points over his last four games, including a three-point night against the New York Islanders. He is starting on the Blue Jackets third line but has seen up to 19 minutes of ice time this season. The Blue Jackets trust this kid so much that he also appears on their top power-play unit. He is a nice value piece on a slate where most solid plays come with a hefty price tag.

Honorable Mention(s): Brayden Schenn, Evan Rodrigues

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Connor McDavid

Winger Sam Reinhart

Defenseman – Aaron Ekblad (Gustav Forsling for Value)

Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky (Jet Greaves for Value)

On this fine Tuesday, we get a nice eight game slate. This one looks to be a little more open than last night’s was, so we should have a little bit more leeway when it comes to our stacks. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators: The Preds are playing well of late and head to Chicago tonight to take on the Blackhawks, who ae finding it hard to score recently. This is a solid spot for Juice, and expect him to be fairly chalky.

Thatcher Demko – Vancouver Canucks: This is a nice, high upside matchup for Demko, as the Canucks host the Devils. Demko should be peppered with shots tonight, giving him a solid floor.

Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers: The Rangers head to Ottawa tonight, and this should be a solid spot for a win for Igor. Ottawa has been struggling to score of late, and that trend should continue tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Kaapo Kahkonen – San Jose Sharks: Normally, road goalies are not in the mix for a play, but this one looks very interesting. The Sharks head to Long Island tonight to take on the Isles, who haven’t exactly been scoring like crazy of late. Kahkonen has really turned it up recently, sporting a very solid 1.18 GAA over his last five. We have to remember, this is the Sharks, so there is a TON of risk around this pick.

Others to Consider: Alexandar Georgiev (COL), Pheonix Copley (LAK), Ilya Sorokin (NYI)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Colorado Avalanche 1 – Nathan MacKinnon/Mikko Rantanen/Valeri Nichushkin/Devon Toews: This is a premier line in a premier matchup tonight. They play host to the Ducks in what should be a great matchup for them. The Ducks haven’t been great of late, and they now look to be missing a couple of key pieces to their lineup. Toews replaces Makar tonight and should be value lock.

Vancouver Canucks 1 – Elias Pettersson/Ilya Mikheyev/Sam Lafferty/Quinn Hughes: The Canucks host the Devils tonight in the battle of the Hughes family. All three of the Hughes brothers will be on the same ice in what should be a very entertaining matchup. This line should see a lot of the third line for the Devils in a very nice matchup. Consider rolling the power play here also.

Los Angeles Kings 2 – Phillip Danault/Trevor Moore/Kevin Fiala: This second line for the Kings gets a great matchup against the Fantilli line for the Jackets. They should see tons of chances, and this is one of the better DFS hockey lines in the league so far this year.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Nashville Predators 2 – Juuso Parssinen/Luke Evangelista/Kiefer Sherwood: There’s no denying the opportunity for the Preds tonight, and this line gets a fantastic matchup against the second line for the Hawks. Expect them to get a ton of chances, hopefully potting multiple goals. The third line is in play as well, but carry a little more risk.

Detroit Red Wings 1 – Dylan Larkin/Robby Fabbri/Lucas Raymond: Most importantly, thoughts out to Dylan Larkin and his family after the devastating news that came out a few days ago. The top line here for the Wings is in a great spot against the Sabres tonight, but the Sabres are getting Tage Thompson back, so they get a little bit better with him in the lineup.

New York Islanders 2 – Brock Nelson/Kyle Palmieri/Pierre Engvall: The Isles have a good matchup tonight, but if Kahkonen keeps up his play, they may not pan out. There is risk in this one because they should be chalky, so a fade here makes a lot of sense if you are playing multiple lineups.

Welcome to December! We have the holiday season upon us, and the NHL season is humming along nicely. Six games lined up for us to break down tonight, which is a great sized slate. This one feels pretty low scoring, so we have to nail it. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Connor Ingram – Arizona Coyotes: People seem to be continuing to overlook Ingram and the Coyotes, but they are quietly having a solid season. Ingram in particular has some very solid numbers this year, and he should see enough upside tonight on home ice to be worth a look in net.

Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars: This is a high upside risk play, as Otter and the Stars head to Tampa to take on the Lightning. Tampa has been on a skid lately, bleeding goals at a high rate, so there is definitely win equity in this play. However, the more important stat, shot upside, should be there tonight as well.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Sam Montembault – Montreal Canadiens: This is a very risky play tonight, as the Canadiens give up a lot of chances. Montembault is not the most impressive goalie there is, but his numbers look great recently.

Others to Consider: Antti Raanta (CAR), Logan Thompson (VGK)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Dallas Stars 2 – Matt Duchene/Tyler Seguin/Mason Marchment: This is a great matchup tonight, as this line should see a lot of the top line for the Lightning. The top line has been bleeding chances, and this is a very solid line that has been producing all year long so far. Dallas power play and DAL1 are both in play here as well, so don’t forget them.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Washington Capitals 3 – Connor McMichael/Anthony Mantha/Aliaksei Protas: The Caps are on a tough stretch, scoring less than 2 goals per game over their last five. That makes this a very risky play tonight, but one that will be severely overlooked. Of course, if you play this line, make sure it’s not against Ingram in the same lineup.

Vegas Golden Knights 1 – Jack Eichel/Mark Stone/Ivan Barbashev: This is a solid matchup for the Knights, as they host the Blues. This top line is about the only one you want to target for scoring, but feel free to mix and match the power play unit. To be clear, the power play matchup is not good, but mixing and matching that unit will get you access to both top lines.

Carolina Hurricanes 2 – Jesperi Kotkaniemi/Andrei Svechnikov/Teuvo Teravainen: The second line for the Canes should see a solid matchup against the top line for the Jets tonight. With Brossoit in net for the Jets, this becomes a solid play. You can always opt for a power play look with Carolina as well.

Seattle Kraken 2 – Yanni Gourde/Eeli Tolvanan/Oliver Bjorkstrand: This line is going to see the depth of the Canadiens tonight in a fantastic matchup. They should be considered your top value tonight, but keep them out of any Montembault lineups.

Philadelphia Flyers 2 – Morgan Frost/Bobby Brink/Owen Tippett: The Flyers’ second line should see the depth of the Penguins tonight on home ice, creating a very solid matchup for this line.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: CAR3, TBL1, DAL1, SEAPP, PITPP

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Morgan Frost ($3400) – Philadelphia Flyers

Wing: Anthony Mantha ($3100) – Washington Capitals

Defense: Dylan Demelo ($3000) – Winnipeg Jets

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Aliaksei Protas ($3800) – Washington Capitals

Wing: Ivan Barbashev ($4100) – Vegas Golden Knights

Defense: Dylan Demelo ($4000) – Winnipeg Jets

Cash Considerations

Consider these NHL DFS plays in your cash lineups tonight. Be sure to stack!

Center: Jack Eichel – Vegas Golden Knights

Wing: Jake Guentzel – Pittsburgh Penguins

Defense: Josh Morrissey – Winnipeg Jets

Goalie: Logan Thompson – Vegas Golden Knights

After another wild week of hockey, we are back tonight with a modest two-game slate. One game is a bit of a blowout on paper, while the other is a much closer matchup. Tonight’s 12/1 NHL slate begins at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Without further ado, let’s get right into it!

12/1 NHL Stack Report

1. New Jersey Devils 1 (Toffoli-Hughes-Mercer)

— This game is the definition of a mismatch. New Jersey is one of the most offensively talented teams in the league, while San Jose is near the bottom of the league in nearly every stat category out there. The Sharks have only managed to win five games this year and are coming up against a team that is heating up (key players are back from injury and on a three-game winning streak). It should come as no surprise that the Devils are heavily favored in this matchup, coming in at -490 with a 4.5 implied goal total. This line has a decent price with Mercer slotted in there, and their matchup against the Sharks top line is a joke. A key example of this line’s recent success is alternate captain Jack Hughes, who has recorded six points and 18 shots over his last two games. These kinds of stats are unreal, and leading up to a game against the league’s worst team, the San Jose Sharks, I can only imagine how many points he will be racking up tonight. All three top liners see power-play time, with Hughes and Toffoli on the first unit and Mercer on the second power-play unit. To me, especially in cash games, this line is a must-play tonight.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Luke Hughes (Hamilton is out injured, Hughes is a lock on defence)

2. Ottawa Senators 1 (Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux)

— My second favourite line of the night is still a juggernaut. The Sens top line is really their main three stars. Despite being a one-note team, the Sens do have some excellent star power on their top line. Both Stutzle and Giroux are point-per-game players, while Tkachuk is not far behind with 15 points in 17 games. If the Sens were facing a stronger team, I would be more concerned about putting a lot of faith in them, but against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who sit 2 points ahead of them (the Sens have 7 games in hand over them), I am not worried. Especially with top defenseman Chabot back for the Sens, I like their chances to rack up some points in this one. All three first liners play on the Sens power-play, with Tkachuk and Stutzle on the top unit and Giroux on the second unit. Ottawa has an implied goal total of 3.6 against the Blue Jackets, and the Blue Jackets have a decently high implied goal total as well (3.1). I can see a lot of goals coming in this one, and when Ottawa scores, their top line will definitely appear on the scoresheet.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Thomas Chabot (Honorable Mention(s): Jake Sanderson)

Honorable Mention(s): New Jersey Devils 2 (Bratt-Hischier-Palat), Columbus Blue Jackets 3 (Chinakov-Johnson-Voronkov)

12/1 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Vitek Vanacek
  2. Joonas Korpisalo
    Honorable Mention(s): N/A

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Kaapo Kahkonen
Honorable Mention(s): N/A

12/1 NHL Wild Card Targets

Kent Johnson
– On a small slate like this, you have to be a little creative to find interesting plays that will make your line stand out over others, especially in tournaments. Kent Johnson is an excellent option. He is listed at a price on both FanDuel and DraftKings and has seen a resurgence in form following a stint in the minors. The former 5th overall pick was sent down to the minors in early November and has been called back up after scoring 15 points (5 G, 10 A) with the Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate. At minimum price, he doesn’t have to do much to hit value, and with him playing in his first game up from the minors, he will have a MASSIVE chip on his shoulder.

Honorable Mention(s): Dawson Mercer, Alexander Holtz

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Jack Hughes

Winger Brady Tkachuk

Defenseman – Luke Hughes

Goalie Vitek Vanacek

We had a very solid day yesterday, so why not get right back into it? Ten games on the slate tonight with a decent amount of options. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets: Helly gets the Stars tonight on home ice in what should be a fairly tight game. Based on the numbers, he has been keeping the Jets in games of late, and has a solid upside potential here tonight.

Filip Gustavsson – Minnesota Wild: This is a nice matchup for Gus on home ice tonight, as he gets the Blues. STL hasn’t been bad, but the Wild have been pretty good on defense, which should help the cause.

High Risk Goalie Pick – John Gibson – Anaheim Ducks: Gibson and the Ducks head to Vancouver tonight, where they face the Canucks, who have gone absolutely ice cold. They are 2-3 in their last five, but the Ducks are 0-5. This game, on the surface, looks like a blowout for Vancouver, but when you dig into the numbers, it doesn’t feel that way. Gibson has decent numbers of late, and with Vancouver struggling, this is a sneaky play.

Others to Consider: Anthony Stolarz (FLA), Juuse Saros (NSH)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

New Jersey Devils Power Play – Jack Hughes/Nico Hischier/Jesper Bratt/Tyler Toffoli/Luke Hughes: The Devils are back to healthy, and this is a great spot for this power play unit. They are a top five unit who get to go against the Islanders, ranked 30th in the league in penalty killing. The Isles are middle of the road as far as how often they are short-handed, so the chances will be there for these guys.

Seattle Kraken 3 – Yanni Gourde/Oliver Bjorkstrand/Eeli Tolvanen: This one is a fantastic play tonight. This line should see the second Chicago line for most of the night. That line is atrociously bad at defense in a small sample. There are a couple of things to keep an eye on here, mainly with Bjorkstrand potentially being out. If he is out, this one goes to high risk, but fire them up if the whole line is healthy.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Arizona Coyotes 3 – Alexander Kerfoot/Michael Carcone/Jason Zucker: This line should see a lot of the second Tampa line tonight on home ice. Couple that with the goalie matchup and the fact that Tampa is on the second night of a back-to-back and this line becomes very interesting with no ownership.

Pittsburgh Penguins 2 – Evgeni Malkin/Bryan Rust/Reilly Smith: This second Pens line should see a bunch of the depth for the Predators tonight in a plus matchup.

Tampa Bay Lightning 2- Anthony Cirelli/Steven Stamkos/Michael Eyssimont: In the exact same matchup as above, this line has a lot of potential themselves. The third line for Arizona gives up a lot of chances, so there is definitely some upside potential for this line tonight. Arizona’s goalie, Ingram, has some decent numbers of late, so just keep that in mind.

Minnesota Wild 1 – Marco Rossi/Kirill Kaprizov/Mats Zuccarello: The Wild haven’t been mentioned much so far this year, but for good reason. They have been pretty rough so far, and that resulted in a coaching change. With that, expect this line to come out flying in a decent matchup.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: VANPP, DALPP, EDMPP, TOR2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Anthony Cirelli ($3400) – Tampa Bay Lightning

Wing: Michael Carcone ($3000) – Arizona Coyotes

Defense: Marcus Pettersson ($2700) – Pittsburgh Penguins

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Anthony Cirelli ($4300) – Tampa Bay Lightning

Wing: Michael Carcone ($4000) – Arizona Coyotes

Defense: Marcus Pettersson ($3900) – Pittsburgh Penguins

Cash Considerations

Consider these NHL DFS plays in your cash lineups tonight. Be sure to stack!

Center: Elias Pettersson – Vancouver Canucks

Wing: Steven Stamkos – Tampa Bay Lightning

Defense: Erik Karlsson – Pittsburgh Penguins

Goalie: Thatcher Demko – Vancouver Canucks

Welcome to the holiday season! We here at Win Daily hope you had a great Thanksgiving. We get back into a normal swing of a schedule tonight, with a nice six game slate for us to break down. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers: The Rangers host the Sabres tonight in what should be a solid matchup for Igor. Buffalo has been struggling to score lately, especially on the road. This one should be fairly safe.

Sergei Bobrovsky – Florida Panthers: Bob and the Cats take on Ottawa tonight in what should be a decent matchup for them. Bob’s numbers aren’t amazing of late, but Ottawa has been allergic to scoring.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Mackenzie Blackwood – San Jose Sharks: The Sharks host the Capitals tonight in an interesting matchup. On paper, both of these teams are flat out garbage, especially over their last five (advanced numbers wise). However, the Caps have going 4-1 over their last five, so they are finding ways to win. Now, though, they have to head out on a west coast road trip after a 4 game homestand. This just feels like a letdown spot for the Caps, and the Sharks have cleaned things up a bit. Blackwood has a 1.99 GAA over his last five home games, so this is a sneaky, sneaky spot for a win with upside.

Others to Consider: Jeremy Swayman (BOS), Jacob Markstrom (CGY)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Florida Panthers 2 – Sam Bennett/Carter Verhaeghe/Matthew Tkachuk/Brandon Montour: This very well could be the best matchup on the board tonight, and it feels somehow like they will be under-owned. This line will see the second line for Ottawa in a FANTASTIC matchup. Tkachuk should be locked into your cash games.

New York Rangers 2 – Vincent Trocheck/Alexis Lafreniere/Artemi Panarin/Erik Gustafsson: The top two lines for the Rangers are in a really good spot tonight against a Buffalo team that has been poor defensively. This second line specifically should see a lot of the second line for Buffalo in a juicy, juicy matchup. You can definitely run out a power play look in this game, but make sure you get a piece of both top lines if you do.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Columbus Blue Jackets 2 – Adam Fantilli/Patrik Laine/Dmitri Voronkov: The second line for the Jackets should see a lot of the top line for the Bruins in a surprisingly plus matchup. They have been a decent line this year, and Laine really makes it when he decides he wants to play.

Calgary Flames 3 – Nazem Kadri/Connor Zary/Martin Pospisil: Not sure what that Martin guy’s last name is, but it keeps coming back to popsicle for some reason. The popsicle line has a nice matchup tonight against the second line for the Knights. They have been running pretty well, and whether they are officially the 2 or 3, it doesn’t matter. Make sure if you go here it’s the Kadri line you play.

Tampa Bay Lightning 1 – Brayden Point/Brandon Hagel/Nikita Kucherov: The Lightning head to Colorado tonight in what should be a very tight game. Both teams are very solid and playing well, so this one could go either way. Tampa 1 is the play most of the time for them, and Colorado 1 makes a lot of sense if you want the other side of this game. They very well could just cancel each other out.

San Jose Sharks 2 – Mikael Granlund/Anthony Duclair/Fabian Zetterlund: This is a DEEP, DEEP shot look for tonight. The second line for the Sharks should see a bunch of the Ovi line tonight, who is not very good at defense. This line isn’t very good at offense, so this is very far from a lock. However, if you are feeling a little froggy and want to take a shot on an upside cheap line, this is the spot.

Hope you got your fill of turkey last night at your Thanksgiving dinner. To celebrate the occasion, we have a Friday where the NHL packed the whole day with games, including six games for tonight’s main slate. Tonight’s 11/24 NHL slate begins at 7:30 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Without further ado, let’s get right into it!

11/24 NHL Stack Report

1. Ottawa Senators 1 (Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson)

— Ottawa has been on fire lately, with four wins from their last five games. They have simply found a way to get the job done time and time again, and since they’ve been matched up together, the Senators’ new-look top line has been very impressive. Against the Red Wings, the second line exploded, getting involved in all five goals in the Senators’ 5-4 overtime win. Another major factor here is their opponent, the New York Islanders, who have been mediocre but have struggled a lot defensively this season. Sorokin has not been able to replicate the crazy form he found last season, and that has not been helped by the fact that the Islanders’ defence sits near the league’s worst in shots on goal allowed per game at 35.1, along with an average of 3.17 Goals against per game. With one of the highest implied totals of the slate at 3.5, the Senator’s top line is a lock to get involved on the score sheet. All three members of the Senators’ top line play on the Senators’ first power play unit against one of the league’s worst penalty-killers (they kill 70% of the penalties they take) and average around 20 minutes of ice time per game.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Jake Sanderson

2. Carolina Hurricanes 2 (Svechnikov-Kotkanemi-Necas)

— Consistency is the key to this play. While Carolina’s top line has exploded over their last two games, Carolina’s second line has shown more consistent success thus far this season. On top of that, Carolina’s second line has a much better matchup against the Lightning second line. Carolina have looked like an offensive juggernaut this season, scoring 3.39 goals per game and having the second-most shots on goal per game in the league at 33.6. Tampa Bay’s defensive abilities have not had the same success this season as they have had in seasons past, sitting at 26th in the league in goals allowed per game at 3.6 and 24th in shots on goal allowed per game at 32.2. These stats may not be too concerning against a mediocre or lower-level team, but they’re a real problem in tonight’s matchup against the Canes. Furthermore, the Canes recently blanked the Lightning 4-0 in Tampa Bay, with both Necas and Svechnikov finding themselves on the scoresheet. This game may be closer than their last meeting, but with the Canes facing off against the Lightning in Raleigh tonight with a 3.7 implied goal total (the highest of the slate), I really like them in this spot.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Jaccob Slavin (Honorable Mention(s): Brady Skjei)

Honorable Mention(s): Florida Panthers 1 (Reinhart-Lundell-Luostarainen), Dallas Stars 2 (Seguin-Duchene-Marchment)

11/24 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Jake Oettinger
  2. Sergei Bobrovsky
Honorable Mention(s): Joonas Korpisalo, Antti Raanta, Thatcher Demko

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Jacob Markstrom
Honorable Mention(s): N/A

11/24 NHL Wild Card Targets

Eeli Tolvanen
– Tolvanen has been on fire lately and has been a key asset in Seattle’s early season success, placing them in 4th in the Pacific division. In their last game, Tolvanen’s third line broke out against the San Jose Sharks, being involved in five of the seven goals the Kraken scored against their divisional rivals. This after Tolvanen was already heating up with three points through his previous four games before his three-point night. Seattle’s opponent tonight is the Canucks, who have started to flounder after a strong start losing three of their last four (including a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Kraken in Vancouver), with their only win coming in a close game against the league’s worst team… the San Jose Sharks. Tolvanen is in a solid spot tonight, and he pairs well with his linemate, Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Honorable Mention(s): Seth Jarvis

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Josh Norris

Winger Sam Reinhart

Defenseman – Brady Skjei

Goalie Jake Oettinger

Seven games on the slate tonight to kick off a holiday week. The front part of the week is a little bit busy, but it means that we have decent sized slates, which makes it a little more fun. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Dan Vladar- Calgary Flames: The Flames are finally starting to turn it around a little bit, and Vladar has been solid over his last five. Expect this one to be a bit of a grind, but a decent spot for him nonetheless.

Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins: Ullmark gets a road matchup with the Bolts tonight in a risky but interesting matchup. The Bolts’ offense has gone ice cold recently, so this is a good place to attack them.

Scott Wedgewood – Dallas Stars: Wedgie has some very solid looking numbers, and should see a decent amount of shots tonight. This is a nice upside spot for him.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Sergei Bobrovsky – Florida Panthers: The Panthers host the Oilers tonight in a high event matchup. Bobrovsky has been decent of late and should see a ton of shot volume. If he can keep the Oilers in check, he is in for a big night.

Others to Consider: Igor Shesterkin (NYR), Thatcher Demko (VAN)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Vancouver Canucks Power Play – Elias Pettersson/JT Miller/Brock Boeser/Andrei Kuzmenko/Quinn Hughes: The third ranked PP unit in the league versus the 29th ranked PK unit? A team that takes the 8th most penalties in the league, and is dead last in high danger chances against? That is a recipe for success. This unit will be chalky, and there is very good reason why. Ride them confidently. Wanna get a little weird with it? Vancouver 3 is a FANTASTIC play tonight and a way to get off of this chalk. The only issue is that the power play unit is where the bulk of the scoring comes from, and that should continue tonight.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Arizona Coyotes 2 – Nick Bjugstad/Lawson Crouse/Matias Maccelli: This line should see a bit of the top line for the Kings, which is a solid matchup. However, this is the first game on home ice with Hayton out, so we have to see how they run their matchups, making them a high risk candidate.

Los Angeles Kings 2 – Phillip Danault/Trevor Moore/Kevin Fiala: LA is one of the more prolific scoring teams in the league, but they are very hard to predict. They have 3 scoring lines that can do it night in and night out. On a night like tonight, the matchups will likely be scrambled, but this one is a nice one. LAK1 is in a great spot as well.

Boston Bruins 2 – Charlie Coyle/James van Riemsdyk/Trent Frederic: This line has been solid of late, and has a decent matchup again tonight, but expect this game to be fairly tight.

Colorado Avalanche 2 – Ryan Johansen/Tomas Tatar/Jonathan Drouin: The Avalanche have a date with the Predators in Nashville tonight, and this line should be matched up with the depth for the Preds in a really nice looking matchup.

Florida Panthers 1 – Anton Lundell/Carter Verhaeghe/Sam Reinhart: This is a solid line, even without Barkov, that gets a solid matchup against the McDavid line. Lundell has been playing really well, hence the promotion to the top line. This one might fly under the radar.

Welcome back to a brand new edition of WinDaily’s NHL Between the Benches article. After a light week of hockey with many teams playing games in Europe, we got a light two-gamer tonight with some great teams in play. Tonight’s 11/17 NHL slate begins at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Without further ado, let’s get right into it!

11/17 NHL Stack Report

1. Winnipeg Jets 2 (Ehlers-Perfetti-Namestikov)

— Let’s face facts, in this small slate. The top offensive lines are all priced very high. So to switch things up a bit. The most appealing line to me is the one that brings the most value to the table. That is definitely Winnipeg’s second line. They’ve been playing some really good hockey as of late, especially Cole Perfetti, even with a well performing top line. Against the Luukkonen and the Sabres, the Jets are coming into tonight’s slate with the highest implied total and great odds to win. The other big factor is Buffalo’s lack of depth, they may be able to put some pressure on Winnipeg’s top line but when looking down Buffalo’s roster, after their top line, they don’t have a lot of strong defensive talent. Winnipeg is also far and away the better team statistically with Winnipeg being near the top of the league in both goals and shots on goal per game with Buffalo being near the bottom. All things considered, especially with the game taking place in Winnipeg, their second line is super interesting in this small slate.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Neal Pionk

2. Florida Panthers 1 (Reinhart-Barkov-Rodrigues)

— In my opinion, Florida’s top line has been one of the best lines in hockey and getting them on a small slate like this is a great lock for your lines tonight, especially in cash. Led by the League Leader in goals, Sam Reinhart, the Panthers have broken out to start this season with 10 wins, five losses and one OT loss, putting them in second place in the Atlantic Division. With as good as the Ducks have been to start the season too, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Panthers are clear favorites in tonight’s matchup. Over their past five games, Florida’s top line has put together nine goals and 14 assists. I don’t see them slowing down tonight against the Ducks.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Honorable Mention(s): Gustav Forsling)

Honorable Mention(s): Winnipeg Jets 1 (Connor-Scheifele-Iafallo), Anaheim Ducks 2 (Vatrano-McTavish-Strome)

11/17 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Connor Hellebuyck
  2. John Gibson
    Honorable Mention(s): Anthony Stolarz

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen
Honorable Mention(s): N/A

11/17 NHL Wild Card Targets

JJ Peterka
– Although Buffalo is a difficult team to rely on for tonight, JJ Peterka has been a surprising bright spot in an otherwise rough Buffalo depth. With five points in his last five games and playing anywhere from 17-19 minutes a night. Peterka has decent value in a small stack (with Owen Power) or one off play.

Honorable Mention(s): Adam Henrique

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Cole Perfetti

Winger Sam Reinhart

Defenseman – Gustav Forsling

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck
