This article focuses on NHL DFS Picks for 2/17 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites have fairly different scoring formats, particularly with the recent changes on DraftKings. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large. BE SURE to double-check both regular and power play lines at both morning skate and before lock as they can drastically change from the time of publication.

Top Two Lines

Las Vegas Two – Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, William Karlsson

The Golden Knights come in with a healthy 3.46 implied goal total and are -140 home favorites against the struggling Capitals. William Karlsson has returned and he could not find a better landing spot, as the center for the revered Stone/Pacioretty line. With Chandler Stephenson under center for a large portion of their last ten games, this line still has seven full line goals. I would expect the numbers to only continue to trend up with the current arrangement. Las Vegas has been great at home since coming into the league two years ago. Given the Capitals goaltending woes, they might hope what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Calgary One – Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Elias Lindholm

No doubt, this is a talented line and underpriced, particularly on DraftKings. Calgary has a slate high 3.56 implied goal total and is a -210 favorite, which easily bests Vegas for highest on the slate as well. The Flames are looking to add their trademark logo to your lineups and while you can always mess with the depth lines, these guys have been bringing the fire. Considering all three skaters also share correlation on the first power-play unit, I would just roll with the full line and not try to pick out a two-man stack here.

  1. Max Pacioretty – Las Vegas Golden Knights – $7,500
  2. Johnny Gaudreau – Calgary Flames – $6,400

2/17 Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Max Pacioretty, Mark Stone, Alex Ovechkin – Over 2.5 Points – The daily 2.5 point bet is up to 32/48 as the last article Auston Matthews and Mikko Rantanen got the job done. There is no star shootout on this game which makes things tough. However, I decided to go with the Las Vegas game over the Colorado and Tampa Bay game. I think one of those two is where you’re choosing to pull skaters from.

Top Two Lines

Colorado One – Nathan MacKinnon, Andre Burakovsky, Mikko Rantanen, Add-Ons: Ryan Graves, Cale Makar

The Colorado Avalanche edged the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 3.69 implied goal, giving them the highest on the slate. Tonight, the Avs are a heavy -240 favorite and should be able to smack around the visiting Kings. The recent inclusion of Andre Burakovsky into the top unit makes it ever so slightly more affordable. Nathan MacKinnon is the top individual play on this slate and should be the first skater in for any cash games. If looking to add on, I would recommend first-line defensemen, Ryan Graves, on FanDuel where he is cheap and on either side, you can add in Cale Makar who also has power-play correlation, in addition to sharing even-strength time.

Toronto One – Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner, William Nylander

As mentioned above, Toronto’s implied goal total comes in just below the Avalanche’s and they are the primary tournament pivot off of them. However, in cash games, I would do my best to fit Auston Matthews in with Nathan MacKinnon, with the willingness to make sacrifices from there. Toronto is a much lesser favorite tonight than Colorado at only -170, but this is not the offense’s fault and can be attributed to Ottawa’s higher implied goal total as opposed to the Kings. Ottawa has been much better at home this season and is much likelier to troll us than Los Angeles, so they come in the second spot for me. However, there is no denying their chances of going off tonight.

2/15 NHL DraftKings Rankings

  1. Nathan MacKinnon – Colorado Avalanche – $8,300
  2. Auston Matthews – Toronto Maple Leafs – $8,500
  3. Johnny Gaudreau – Calgary Flames – $6,400
  4. Alex Ovechkin – Washington Capitals – $8,700
  5. Max Pacioretty – Las Vegas Golden Knights – $7,900

Defensemen

  1. Nate Schmidt – Las Vegas Golden Knights – $4,200
  2. Shea Theodore – Las Vegas Golden Knights – $5,700
  3. John Klingberg – Dallas Stars – $4,300
  4. John Carlson – Washington Capitals – $7,700
  5. Cale Makar – Colorado Avalanche – $6,200

Goalies

  1. Phillip Grubauer – Colorado Avalanche – $8,300
  2. Jack Campbell – Toronto Maple Leafs – $8,100
  3. Robin Lehner – Chicago Blackhawks – $7,400 – GPP

2/15 NHL FanDuel Rankings

Nathan MacKinnon, Auston Matthews, Mikko Rantanen – Over 2.5 Points – The daily 2.5 point bet is up to 31/47 as Sidney Crosby individually hit the three-point total. Tonight should be solid as we have some big guns to turn to such as Nathan Mac and Auston Matthews.

Welcome to WinDaily’s newest edition of the NHL Stack and Track! In this article, the 2/15 NHL Stack and Track, we will look at the top NHL stacks at each price range and rank the best and the worst goalie spots to target in the first edition of the NHL Stack and Track during the NBA All-Star game! There are six games for tonight’s main slate, check out the top plays below.

2/15 NHL Stack Report

  1. Toronto Maple Leafs $$$
    Hyman – Matthews – Marner (FanDuel: $21,400 | DraftKings: $21,300)
    – Presuming this line is put back together during the morning skate it will become a top target for many tonight as the offensive juggernaut in the Leafs are facing off again a Sens team who is 27th worst in the league in goals allowed, allowing a whopping 3.3 goals against per game. While Toronto is third in the league in goals (3.52), fourth in the league in shots (33.5) and have the third-best power play in the league this season, converting on over a quarter of their power play opportunities.
Ideal Defensive Partner: Tyson Barrie (FD: $5,600 | DK: $6,000)
  2. Calgary Flames Two $$
    Mangiapane – Backlund – M. Tkachuk (FanDuel: $14,500 | DraftKings: $14,100)
    – This line has largely flown under the radar however Calgary’s top line has been underperforming and often gets matched up with teams best lines, leaving the Flames second line to feast on opportunities which they are more than capable of capitalizing on. The Blackhawks are allowing 3.11 goals against per game and this line has put up sixteen points together in their last five games (6 goals, 10 assists). At their price, they’re definitely a viable option tonight.
Ideal Defensive Partner: Rasmus Andersson (FD: $4,000 | DK: $3,400)
  3. Dallas Stars Two $
    Benn – Dickenson – Gurianov (FanDuel: $14,400 | DraftKings: $12,700)
Like Calgary, Dallas’ top line will most likely be preoccupied with Montreal’s top line leaving the second line to roam free against MTL2, on top of that the Stars are trending upwards embarking on a three-game win streak after a hard-fought win in Toronto, while the Canadiens are coming off their third straight loss, including a 4-1 loss last night against the Penguins. Not to mention the Stars second line has put together five goals in their last two games, while Montreal backup Charlie Lindgren has given up four goals in each of his last three starts.
Ideal Defensive Partner: Miro Heiskanen (FD: $4,400 | DK: $5,000)

Honorable Mention(s): Colorado Avalanche One – Graves, Vegas Golden Knights Two – Theodore

2/15 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best

  1. Philipp Grubauer (FD: $8,400 | DK: $8,300)
  2. Ben Bishop (FD: $8,700 | DK: $7,700)
  3. Jack Campbell (FD: $8,100 | DK: $8,100)
    Honorable Mention(s): David Rittich

Worst

  1. Charlie Lindgren (FD: $7,100 | DK: $7,600)
  2. Jonathan Quick (FD: $7,000 | DK: $6,900)
  3. Marcus Hogberg (FD: $7,300 | DK: $7,100)

2/15 NHL Wild Card of the Day

Denis Gurianov (FD: $4,000 | DK: $4,000
– Like many other young players, Gurianov has really impressed me thus far into his NHL career, and his relatively unknown status will make him a low owned play. In his past five games, he’s posted four goals against established goaltenders. Gurianov will be playing with veteran all-star Jamie Benn, increasing his scoring prowess. On top of that, he will be up against a goaltender who has really struggled to find his feet in the NHL thus far Charlie Lindgren.

Honorable Mention(s): Brandon Saad (with P. Kane), Jason Robertson (GPP Only), Connor Brown (with B. Tkachuk)

Game Stack of the Day:
TOR1/OTT1
HM: CGY2/CHI2

2/15 NHL Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Matthews-MacKinnon-Benn – Putting Up Points  Two players within the top five in the Rocket Richard scoring race (who average more than a point per game) and a third who has four goals in his last three games. Each player will be targeting each of the three “goalies to target” tonight, which should be a lock for 3 points.

Honorable Mention(s): Jaime Benn – More than 2.5 Fantasy Points

Top DraftKings Line

Carolina Two – Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen, Add-On: Jacob Slavin

The Devils arrive in Carolina on the second night of a back and back, and the terrible Louis Domingue will be in net. The Hurricanes are a heavy -220 favorite and should be able to take advantage of the situation, with New Jersey still on a high after a win over our favorite punching bag, the Red Wings. This line only has four full line goals over their last ten games with ample supporting stats behind those scores. However, they should be able to add to their tally here. All three skaters share a full powerplay correlation in the first unit. Jacob Slavin makes for the perfect addition to the trio, as he shares both even strength and power playtime with them.

Top FanDuel Line

Pittsburgh Two – Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust, Jared McCann

Pittsburgh is expected to win here at home and with Bryan Rust’s criminal FanDuel price seemingly on the rise, it makes sense to grab a share of the second line. While many will turn to the first line, particularly with its shiny new toy Jason Zucker on display, this second line is still loaded and should be more cohesive. Evgeni Malkin is the lone spend up of the group, allowing you to add in the high-end line of your choice.

2/14 NHL DraftKings Rankings

Forwards

  1. Evgeni Malkin – Pittsburgh Penguins – $7,500
  2. Teuvo Teravainen – Carolina Hurricanes – $5,500
  3. Sebastian Aho – Carolina Hurricanes – $7,100
  4. Sidney Crosby – Pittsburgh Penguins – $7,300
  5. Bryan Rust – Pittsburgh Penguins – $6,300

Defensemen

  1. Jacob Slavin – Carolina Hurricanes – $5,200
  2. Brent Burns – San Jose Sharks – $7,000
  3. Kris Letang – Pittsburgh Penguins – $6,800
  4. Zach Werenski – Columbus Blue Jackets – $5,700
  5. Andy Greene – New Jersey Devils – $3,500

Goalies

  1. Petr Mrazek – Carolina Hurricanes – $8,200
  2. Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets – $8,000

2/14 NHL FanDuel Rankings

Forwards

  1. Bryan Rust – Pittsburgh Penguins – $4,700
  2. Evgeni Malkin – Pittsburgh Penguins – $8,400
  3. Sidney Crosby – Pittsburgh Penguins – $8,000
  4. Nikolaj Ehlers – Winnipeg Jets – $5,000
  5. Mark Scheifele – Winnipeg Jets – $6,800

Defensemen

  1. Jacob Slavin – Carolina Hurricanes – $5,000
  2. Brent Burns – San Jose Sharks – $6,500
  3. Kris Letang – Pittsburgh Penguins – $6,900
  4. Neal Pionk – Winnipeg Jets – $4,700
  5. Brady Skjei – New York Rangers – $3,700

Goalies

  1. Petr Mrazek – Carolina Hurricanes – $8,100
  2. Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets – $7,500

2/14 Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Sebastian Aho – Over 2.5 Points – The daily 2.5 point bet is up to 30/46 after a Nathan Mac attack. The gameplan tonight is to grab a piece of both Pittsburgh lines and from there, I threw in Sebastian Aho for good measure.

Top Expensive Line

Tampa Bay One – Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos

The statuses of Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov are an unknown as I sit and write this. The fact that they are a -200 favorite with a 3.82 implied goal total “both slate highs by a wide margin” with the assumption that they do not play, says it all. It has truly been a story of two halves for the Lightning this season, as they have been virtually unbeatable lately “9-0-1 over their last ten games”. I would expect them to be major chalk on a slate full of pick ems and tough matchups. The implied goal total would likely rise above four before game time, as I would expect either Nikita Kucherov or Steven Stamkos to return.

Top Value Line

New Jersey One – Kyle Palmieri, Jesper Bratt, Jack Hughes

The New Jersey Devils have not made this article very often if it all, but ZakPRB will be extremely satisfied tonight. The Devils are -180 favorites with a 3.43 implied goal total as they prepare to host the abysmal Red Wings. I did not want to target the Wings the other night as Buffalo has been terrible and that decision worked out. However, I think that we get back to abusing them tonight and we get to do it with a line that comes in extremely cheap considering their upside in this spot. If you were to leave one skater off, it would be Jesper Bratt, who unlike the other two skaters is not a member of the first power-play unit.

2/13 NHL DraftKings Rankings

  5. Cale Makar – Colorado Avalanche – $5,500

Goalies

  1. Elvis Merzilikins- Columbus Blue Jackets – $7,300

Auston Matthews, Alex Ovechkin, Nathan MacKinnon – Over 2.5 Points – The daily 2.5 point bet is down to 29/45 after a tough two-game star shootout slate. With salary a nonissue on Monkey Knife Fight, let’s grab three studs we might otherwise not play at all in DFS tonight.

Top Expensive Line

Boston One – Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand

The Boston Bruins will play host to the Montreal Canadiens and should be extremely popular on this small, three-game slate. They come in strong -200 favorites. One note is that Brad Marchand is primarily playing as a setup man. While there is not a huge difference in the number of shots between the three, it is both Pasta and Patrice Bergeron taking the important shots; close to 85-90% of the slapshots and other one-timers, between the three. Therefore, I don’t mind the two-man mini stack of Bergeron and Pastrnak if you are looking to get some Boston exposure but simultaneously be a bit different.

Top Value Line

Vancouver Two – Elias Pettersson, Tanner Pearson, Jake Virtanen

The Chicago Blackhawks come in on the second night of a back to back and Vancouver should be able to take advantage. The Canucks are a -155 favorite in the highest total game of the night. I would like this line a lot more with J.T. Miller in it. However, Tanner Pearson has goals in two straight games so he is finding his groove. Jake Virtanen has also been a great source of value. Elias Pettersson is the only real stud here but with all of the savings you get from the other two, it won’t be hard to afford another. Because this is the late game and the lines are particularly fluid, I would be sure to double-check the lines during the pre-game skate.

2/12 NHL DraftKings Rankings

Forwards

  1. David Pastrnak – Boston Bruins – $8,500
  2. Patrick Kane – Chicago Blackhawks – $7,900
  3. Patrice Bergeron – Boston Bruins – $8,000
  4. Elias Pettersson – Vancouver Canucks – $7,200
  5. Johnny Gaudreau – Calgary Flames – $6,800

Defensemen

  1. Noah Hanifan – Calgary Flames – $4,000
  2. Quinn Hughes – Vancouver Canucks – $5,300
  3. Eric Gustafsson – Chicago Blackhawks – $3,900
  4. Olli Maatta – Chicago Blackhawks – $3,300
  5. Christopher Tanev – Vancouver Canucks – $3,700

Goalies

  1. Tuukka Rask – Boston Bruins – $8,400
  2. David Rittich – Calgary Flames – $7,700

2/12 NHL FanDuel Rankings

Forwards

  1. David Pastrnak – Boston Bruins – $8,700
  2. Patrick Kane – Chicago Blackhawks – $7,800
  3. Patrice Bergeron – Boston Bruins – $7,600
  4. Elias Pettersson – Vancouver Canucks – $6,900
  5. Dominik Kubalik – Chicago Blackhawks – $4,900

Defensemen

  1. Noah Hanifin – Calgary Flames – $4,300
  2. Quinn Hughes – Vancouver Canucks – $5,200
  3. Alexander Edler – Vancouver Canucks – $4,400
  4. Torrey Krug – Boston Bruins – $5,800
  5. Connor Murphy – Chicago Blackhawks – $3,700

Goalies

  1. Tuukka Rask – Boston Bruins – $8,700
  2. David Rittich – Calgary Flames – $7,600

2/12 Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

Patrick Kane, Elias Pettersson, Johnny Gaudreau – Over 2.5 Points – The daily 2.5 point bet is up to 29/44 in what has generally been an off week, as Auston Matthews bombed but Nathan MacKinnon and Jack Eichel for three points we need. One of the MacKinnon assists came really late so a total bailout. We can only choose from the two-night games in the star shootout tonight, so I would recommend playing light.

Top Expensive Line

Toronto One – Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner, Andreas Johnsson

This a large slate and there are a number of top options to choose from. It is likely that the Avalanche will be the most popular. The Avs 4.16 projected goal total and -280 money line status should sway most people their way. However, keep in mind, it has not been the first line simply doing all the work for Colorado, as has been the case in seasons past. Furthermore, if you try to squeeze all three Colorado skaters, you will feel a bankroll pinch.

With the inclusion of value skater Andreas Johnsson, Toronto simply gives you more bang for your buck. The Maple Leafs 3.5 implied goal total is good for the third-highest on the slate, just below the Avs and slightly under Buffalo’s 3.59. I know they are hosting the Red Wings, but I probably don’t have to tell you how I feel about the Sabres. Not mentioning them was a very intentional omission on my part.

Top Value Line

Colorado Two – Nazem Kadri, Andre Burakovsky, Valeri Nichushkin

As noted above, the Avalanche have been getting production from their depth lines, starting with the second line. This line has eleven full line goals over their last ten games, good for a tie for second in the NHL during that span with Edmonton’s second line, and just one beneath the Tampa Bay Lightning’s top unit, which is in first. Combining them with Toronto One would give you a piece of two of the three big total games. I also like the Winnipeg depth lines in terms of the search for value, but they are tournament only for me.

2/11 NHL DraftKings Rankings

Forwards

  1. Auston Matthews – Toronto Maple Leafs – $8,100
  2. Nathan MacKinnon – Colorado Avalanche – $8,500

  1. Shea Theodore – Las Vegas Golden Knights – $5,900
  2. Brady Skjei – New York Rangers – $4,500
  3. Neal Pionk – Winnipeg Jets – $4,500

Goalies

  1. Philipp Grubauer – Colorado Avalanche – $8,500
  2. Ben Bishop – Dallas Stars – $8,000
  3. Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers – $7,300 – GPP

Nathan MacKinnon, Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel – Over 2.5 Points – The daily 2.5 point bet is down to 28/43 despite two points from Nikita Kucherov. Alex Ovechkin has cost us three slates now, as he put up another goose egg. He will never get to 700 goals at this rate. Anyway, tonight we move on to a trio of high profile studs who should fare much better.

This article focuses on NHL DFS Picks for 2/10 on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Top Expensive Line

Philadelphia One – Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier, Jakub Voracek

The Flyers finally have their three best skaters paired on one line. Florida has been pretty porous on the road and Philadelphia has very distinct home/road splits as well. Philly has a 3.44 implied goal total, which is the highest on the slate, edging Washington by 0.06. As far as the Capitals go, I think that you can gain enough exposure by just eating Alex Ovechkin individually. However, this trio provides you with the most bang for your buck. All three skaters are also on the first power-play unit, providing you with an additional correlation.

Top Value Line

Calgary One – Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, Elias Lindholm

If I remember correctly, we tried targeting this exact spot a week or two ago to no avail. However, I’m stubborn and given the talent gap between these two teams right now, it is hard to imagine the Sharks trolling us again. Much like with the Flyers top line listed above, we have another situation where arguably the top three skaters on the team right now “only Matthew Tkachuk might argue” are suddenly paired on the first unit. Considering their form last year and the positive regression that we have seen recently, they are all still drastically underpriced.

Welcome to Zak’s Puck Picks!! I started in Cash with Flash Handicapping Challenge and have been heating up. I am super excited to keep the momentum going and win some serious money with all of you!

A big part of my life is my 3 kids. Each one of them holds a different attribute that I would personally use to aid me in deciding what picks to make. My twins Pork and Ribs and their little brother Bean (not their real names but very appropriate nicknames).

Pork is a doer. He is one to dive into a situation and figure it out as it unfolds, usually with great success. In terms of the puck pick, it will be a gut feeling pick and be backed with some stats to explain the feeling.

Ribs, he likes to observe the situation, take in all the information, and then make an educated decision on what his next step will be. His puck pick will be focused around teams that are on hot streaks, either against a team in a matchup or on a winning streak.

Now Bean may sound cute and innocent, but he is a wild man. Not a lot of thought goes into actions and if there is some thought, its geared towards “how can I push Dad’s buttons”. His puck pick will be a little more on the risky side. There will be reasons why I think we should go this way.

As cook by trade and hockey as a passion since I was 3 years old, let’s get some puck picks in the oven and make some dough shall we?

All odds are referenced from vegasinsider.com. I will play ALL the picks mentioned in these articles.

Puck Record for February (20-16) Thursday (2-2) last night (3-2).

The Flames with a surprising victory and the Oilers with a late PP goal took out the Predators. We got Winnipeg and Boston (put out on the Win Daily discord chat) and those Glorious Devils!!! Sometimes.the heart wins! Let’s get it today!

Pork’s Puck Pick- New York Rangers -186

The King’s are coming from a game last night against the Devils where the Rangers had the night off. The blue shirts of New York are the 8th overall in goals per game where LA is sitting in 30th  referenced from Newsday Sports. The Rangers have the top-end talent to beat one of the bottom feeders in the Western Conference. Take the Rangers on the money line!

Rib’s Puck Pick- Chicago Blackhawks +118

The Blackhawks have been playing some good hockey lately despite the losses. The jets, like LA, are on the second half of a back to back and Chicago is rested. According to Newsday Sports, the Blackhawks have won their last two meetings between these teams. The top two lines for Chicago have been playing great. I see these as reasons why to take the Blackhawks on the road.

Bean’s Puck Pick – Puck Line Boston Bruins -1.5 +106

If I were to tell you that the Detroit Red Wings had beaten the Boston Bruins in their last 4 straight games, I’m sure a lot of you would determine that I’ve been hit with a few too many pucks to the head. As both of these things are true, I don’t see this trend of the Red Wings curse on Boston continuing today. Detroit has lost 9 of their last 10 and 7 of those 9 losses have been by 2 goals or more according to Newsday Sports. Boston has won 7 of their last 10 and 4 of those 7 wins were by 2 or more. Coming off of a 4-2 win last night against a much better Coyotes team, I feel safe in saying the Bruins will win by 2 or more goals.

There are a few other matchups I may like, however it depends who the puck stopper is. Stay tuned to the #nhl and # sports betting tabs on Discord, as well as Twitter for any changes or more potential matchups as more news unfolds!

I am very excited to join this team of highly skilled people at Win Daily. If you have any further questions, please feel free to find me on the Win Daily Discord chat (@Zak PRB) or on Twitter (@PRBpuckpicks) Thank you to you all for reading, let’s go make some bacon.

Top Expensive Line

New York One – Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider, Pavel Buchnevich

It almost looked like this line was going to disappoint us the other night until both Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider scored goals towards the end of their game, with Zibanejad assisting on the Kreider score. It is clear that they are the heart and soul of this Rangers team right now, and they will get another plus matchup hosting the Kings. The other two games on this slate are pick ems, while the Rangers are a -180 favorite, so they should be popular. In the alternative, you can also go with Artemi Panarin who’s ownership should not be as high as it would’ve been a couple of weeks ago. I do not think that you need his linemates if going that route.

Top Value Line

Colorado Two – Nazem Kadri, Valeri Nichushkin, Andre Burakovsky

The Colorado top line will get far more ownership on this small three-game slate. However, the odds suggest that this game is a tossup and the top line is also extremely expensive. Instead, you can turn to the Colorado second line. They have had some off nights as of late, but generally, they have hit value more often than not. Understandably, teams tend to forget about the second line or downplay the attention on them, when preparing to face the Avalanche.
