Weather’s beautiful here in Montreal today and we’re getting ready for another NBA slate with the Win Daily team as Russell Westbrook is set to chase his 183rd career triple-double, just a few days after breaking Oscar Robertson’s all-time record. It’s Wet Wednesday edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

One thing I want to clarify based on the questions I have received is that I will never list a player under the $5,000 FD price tag simply because I use the projection model to identify all targets in these price ranges and below. While there are often plenty of options that I like in this range, you all have access to the very model I use to make my own selections, so when asking “Should I use player X or player Y?”, make sure to check the model because that is how I make all of my own decisions and I truly ride or die by it on a daily basis.

Before running to the DraftKings, FanDuel, or Yahoo lobby to construct your NBA DFS lineup after reading this article, please make sure to utilize the abundance of tools we have at Win Daily:

Point Guards

Russell Westbrook ($12,600 FD / $12,400 DK)

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Russell Westbrook just set the NBA record for most career triple-doubles with 182. Tonight, he takes on the same Atlanta team that he just dropped 28/13/21 on just a few days ago, all while averaging 67.59 DK PPG in the last month. Price increase or not, I don’t care – he’s a lock for me.

Trae Young ($8,500 FD / $9,100 DK)

Let me crystal clear with this statement: The Hawks need this win; there are three teams tied for the 4 seed in the East with each having three games remaining: Atlanta, Miami, and New York, with the Hawks holding the tiebreaker between all three teams. However, one slip up here and Atlanta finds themselves playing Milwaukee in the first round and punching a ticket to an early exit in this year’s NBA playoffs. Enter Trae Young, who is coming off back-to-back 30-point performances and gets the same Washington team that he just dropped 36/6/9 on just a few days ago.

Also Consider:

  • Damian Lillard ($9,600 FD / $9,600 DK)
  • Kemba Walker ($8,000 FD / $7,600 DK)
  • Dejounte Murray ($7,200 FD / $7,100 DK)

Shooting Guards

CJ McCollum ($7,700 FD / $7,900 DK)

Another team that desperately needs a win tonight, Portland faces off against the best team in the NBA, the Utah Jazz. Portland currently sits in the 5 seed in the West, tied with Dallas, but are one game away from falling to the dreaded 7 seed and a play-in tournament. With no Conley or Mitchell on the Utah side, they have been getting decimated by guards in their most recent stretch, and now face one of the most potent backcourts in the entire league. McCollum comes into this one sporting a 27.3% usage rate in his past two games, while posting a 27.5/4/4.5 scoring line and 44.25 DK PPG.

Collin Sexton ($7,600 FD / $8,400 DK)

This play hinges on the fact that Cleveland rosters a G-League team again tonight, but even if they don’t, Sexton is still firmly in play with Darius Garland ruled out. With Cedi Osman, Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr, and others all out last game, Sexton dropped 25/5/8 while taking a ridiculous 26 shots and logging 37 minutes. Even with a 7-for-26 shooting performance, he put up 44 DK points, solidifying his floor with one of the highest volumes on this NBA slate.

Also Consider:

  • Tim Hardaway Jr. ($6,000 FD / $6,000 DK)
  • Eric Bledsoe ($5,900 FD / $5,600 DK)
  • Khyri Thomas ($4,500 FD / $5,600 DK)

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant ($10,700 FD / $9,800 DK)

I’ll keep this one short and sweet – Harden is likely back, but on a minutes limit. I personally do not think Kyrie plays after leaving yesterday’s game and not returning. You know what to do.

Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,300 FD / $7,300 DK)

I played him last time out in this matchup, and he delivered a cool 45 DK at 2% ownership. Whether he is going to be higher owned or not on tonight’s NBA slate is unknown at the time of writing, but I’m likely going right back to the well with Bog in a rematch versus the Wizards. Against smaller lineups, Bog has been logging heavy minutes for the Hawks as a secondary scorer and now has 25 or more points in three of his last four, where’s had a 22.4% usage rate and 23.5 PPG across 32.7 MPG.

Also Consider:

  • Evan Fournier ($7,200 FD / $5,500 DK)
  • Bojan Bogdanovic ($6,400 FD / $6,900 DK)
  • Rui Hachimura ($5,800 FD / $5,300 DK)

Power Forwards

Anthony Davis ($10,800 FD / $10,400 DK)

Blowout is a potential here, but the Rockets have been covering the spread with ease and the Lakers are simply not good enough to not have AD out there for 30+ minutes tonight. Even if he doesn’t hit 36 or more, he’s in a good enough spot on this NBA slate to do damage against a G-League Rockets roster and an individual matchup against Kelly Olynyk and KJ Martin Jr. AD’s groin was apparently in bad shape last night, so I’m likely staying away tonight, but it’s hard to ignore his 32.7/10/4.7/1.3/1.3 scoring line across 41.1 MPG in his last three.

Jayson Tatum ($9,500 FD / $9,400 DK)

I talked about the sheer volume that Tatum will be shouldering for the Celtics on the last NBA slate now that Jaylen Brown is done for the season and he came through with 33/8/6 in a tough matchup versus Miami. Tonight, Tatum sees a rebuilding Cavaliers squad and will be up against the likes of Dotson and Wade, making this a potential ceiling game for the former Blue Devil.

Also Consider:

  • KJ Martin Jr. ($7,300 FD / $6,600 DK)
  • John Collins ($6,800 FD / $6,700 DK)
  • James Johnson ($4,700 FD / $5,000 DK)

Centers

  • Rudy Gobert ($7,600 FD / $8,400 DK)
  • Clint Capela ($7,600 FD / $8,600 DK)
  • Robin Lopez ($4,100 FD / $3,100 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

While everyone is navigating their way through late scratches and overpriced value plays, our team looks to continue our heater with another NBA slate on tap. It’s Taco Tuesday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

One thing I want to clarify based on the questions I have received is that I will never list a player under the $5,000 FD price tag simply because I use the projection model to identify all targets in these price ranges and below. Before running to the DraftKings, FanDuel, or Yahoo lobby to construct your NBA DFS lineup after reading this article, please make sure to utilize the abundance of tools we have at Win Daily:

Point Guards

Steph Curry ($10,300 FD / $10,000 DK)

Another MVP performance last night from the best shooter of all time – and the MVP this season (don’t @ me with Jokic). With 30 or more points in seven straight for the Warriors, who are now the 8 seed in the West and quickly approaching the Lakers for the 7 seed, Curry has posted a 37.7/5.3/5.4 scoring line while shooting 46.4% from the field and 41.2% from deep. Sporting a ridiculous 41.8% usage rate in that span, he has the highest ceiling on this NBA slate in a marquee matchup versus the Suns.

Malachi Flynn ($5,000 FD / $5,300 DK)

I can use all the fancy statistics in the world to justify why you need to play at least one of, if not both Malachi Flynn and Gary Trent Jr. Look, the Toronto Raptors are without Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Kyle Lowry, and Fred VanVleet tonight, and have just been eliminated from playoff contention. Again, I can talk about usage rate increases, scoring and assist rates, but four of five starting members are out. Do the math and you’ll see why they’re borderline locks on this NBA slate.

Also Consider:

  • Kyrie Irving ($10,200 FD / $9,600 DK)
  • Chris Paul ($8,100 FD / $7,800 DK)
  • LaMelo Ball ($7,700 FD / $8,700 DK)

Shooting Guards

Zach Lavine ($8,600 FD / $9,500 DK)

After a notable absence from the lineup and Nikola Vucevic taking over the offense, Zach Lavine has strung together two straight games of impressive offensive performances and takes on a Brooklyn Nets team that is far from stout on defense. Sporting a 29.5% usage rate while logging 34 MPG in the last two for Chicago, Lavine has posted 27.5/4/4 while shooting 50% from the field and 100% from the charity stripe, making this matchup one of the best on the NBA slate.

D’Angelo Russell ($7,600 FD / $7,900 DK)

With the Minnesota Timberwolves essentially playing for a higher draft pick, some will be wary about core pieces in DLo, Towns, and rookie Anthony Edwards. However, after logging 25 or more minutes in eight of his last nine, including re-entering the starting lineup, Russell is in a great spot to take advantage of a depleted Pistons roster on tonight’s NBA slate. Sporting a 27.4% usage rate in his last nine, DLo has posted a 18.9/3.1/8.1 scoring line, including 41.44 DK PPG in his last four, where he’s averaged 20.8/3.8/9 across 31.5 MPG.

Also Consider:

  • Devin Booker ($7,700 FD / $8,200 DK)
  • Terry Rozier ($7,300 FD / $8,100 DK)
  • Donte DiVincenzo ($5,300 FD / $5,300 DK)

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant ($10,600 FD / $9,900 DK)

With the highest game total on the board, we know we’ll be attacking this Brooklyn/Chicago game, and it starts with KD on the Nets side. The Nets need to hold onto the 2 seed to avoid the Heat in the first round, so this game is crucial to them – KD is sporting a 33.2% usage rate in his last five, posting a 33.8/8.4/5.6 scoring line while shooting 51.8% from the field, solidifying him as a premier stud on tonight’s NBA slate.

Michael Porter Jr. ($7,100 FD / $8,500 DK)

While the price is a tad steep for my liking on DK, MPJ slots in well at an option at SF on FD, where his price has dropped over the past week despite averaging 26.7 PPG over his last ten games, in addition to contributing 6.2 RPG on the glass. Although Jokic will take center stage on a nightly basis, MPJ has quickly become the secondary scoring option for the Nuggets, making him an intriguing option in a matchup versus a Hornets team that ranks 26th in the NBA against small forward, allowing nearly 44 FPPG.

Also Consider:

  • Jimmy Butler ($9,500 FD / $9,200 DK)
  • Kawhi Leonard ($8,400 FD / $8,300 DK)
  • RJ Barrett ($6,400 FD / $6,800 DK)

Power Forwards

Domantas Sabonis ($10,200 FD / $10,400 DK)

Malcolm Brogdon is out again and the best player in the NBA has averaged 26/15.3/10.3 in his last six games, including 66.75 DK PPG in that span. Giddy up!

Jayson Tatum ($9,700 FD / $9,700 DK)

We know about the usage and scoring bumps that Tatum receives with JB out, but to put it into perspective, he’s averaged 28.4/7.7/4.2 with his teammate sidelined; now done for the season, the Celtics’ hope rides on the former Duke Blue Devil, who will certainly have his hands full with Jimmy Butler on the other side, but will also have the volume like no other on this NBA slate.

Also Consider:

  • Anthony Davis ($10,800 FD / $10,700 DK)
  • Julius Randle ($9,000 FD / $9,400 DK)
  • Isaiah Stewart ($6,200 FD / $6,400 DK)

Centers

  • Nikola Jokic ($11,000 FD / $11,000 DK)
  • Nikola Vucevic ($9,800 FD / $10,300 DK)
  • Chris Boucher ($6,600 FD / $6,800 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

Crushed yesterday with flames everywhere and when the only letdown is Giannis, you know you nailed another NBA slate. Tonight, we have marquee matchups that will ultimately impact playoff seeding for both the first round and the play-in tournament, so let’s identify which players we’re eyeing early on. It’s Thirsty Thursday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

Russell Westbrook ($11,600 FD / $11,000 DK)

Do I really have to explain why we need to consider Russell Westbrook on every NBA slate until the end of the season? He’s sporting a 27.3% usage rate in the last month, posting a 22.2/13.5/13.3 triple-double average while scoring 65 DK PPG. Yeah, it’s safe to say that his ceiling is high and there’s no stopping him any time soon.

Steph Curry ($9,900 FD / $10,600 DK)

Sure, a matchup against OKC doesn’t exactly scream ceiling game to most – but it should. Curry comes into this one sporting a 37.9% usage rate in the past month, where he’s averaged 37.1/5.8/4.9 on 50.5% shooting and 6.9 3PM per night. In addition, he gets an OKC team that ranks 28th in the NBA against primary ball handlers, allowing over 50 FPPG. It won’t take long for the greatest shooter of all time to go off tonight.

Also Consider:

  • Luka Doncic ($10,900 FD / $10,900 DK)
  • Kyrie Irving ($9,900 FD / $9,700 DK)
  • Kyle Lowry ($8,200 FD / $7,700 DK)

Shooting Guards

Bradley Beal ($8,900 FD / $9,300 DK)

While Steph Curry, who leads the NBA is scoring, has been more explosive of late, nobody has been scoring as consistently as Bradley Beal through the season’s entirety. Scoring under 20 points only once in the last 16 games is quite the feat, but with Westbrook taking the spotlight away from him lately, his performances have flown under the radar; Beal has a 33.5% usage rate in these last 16 games, posting a remarkable 30.7 PPG on 48.7% shooting while taking over 23 FGA per night. Yes, the price is high, and Westbrook is the Wizard we want to own, but who says we can’t play both?

Fred VanVleet ($8,000 FD / $8,000 DK)

We’ll have to wait for an updated injury report from the Raptors to confirm his availability, but if both he and Kyle Lowry are a go tonight, I’ll side with VanVleet in this one. Sporting a 30.7% usage rate in his last two games, FVV has posted a 28.5/10 double-double while adding 4 RPG. The 56 DK PPG is well indicative of his offensive production, but this has happened all while shooting 42.9% from the field and a mere 36% from behind the arc; a matchup versus the 20th ranked defense in the NBA bodes well for him to have a good night at a discounted rate.

Also Consider:

  • Terry Rozier ($6,200 FD / $7,600 DK)
  • Dillon Brooks ($5,500 FD / $6,000 DK)
  • Desmond Bane ($4,800 FD / $3,600 DK)

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant ($10,600 FD / $9,900 DK)

Dropping 30+ points in four of his last five and coming off back-to-back losses to Giannis and the Bucks has Durant motivated to come out making a statement tonight. Sporting a 33% usage rate during that span, KD has posted a 33.2/7.6/5.2 scoring line while shooting a ridiculous 56.1% from the field and 54.5% from deep, including 90.3% from the charity stripe. With no Porzingis tonight for the Mavericks, good luck to anyone trying to guard one of the best scorers in the NBA, let alone of all time.

Saddiq Bey ($6,400 FD / $6,300 DK)

With Detroit essentially playing for the #1 pick in the upcoming draft, look for Saddiq Bey to close out his rookie season with a ton of minutes and opportunity. In his last ten games, the first rounder from this past NBA draft has logged 31.3 MPG for the Pistons, sporting a 19.2% usage rate while posting 13.6 PPG and 2.9 3PM per night and gets a Memphis defense that allows opponents to shoot 36.8% from deep, ranking 18th in the league. With no Josh Jackson or Jerami Grant on the wing tonight, it’ll Bey soaking up all the minutes he can handle.

Also Consider:

  • Kawhi Leonard ($8,800 FD / $8,800 DK)
  • Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,400 FD / $7,300 DK)
  • Caleb Martin ($5,000 FD / $3,900 DK)

Power Forwards

Domantas Sabonis ($10,500 FD / $10,400 DK)

The most underrated player in the NBA has been unleashed! Sporting a mere 23.5% usage rate in his last three games after returning from a two-week absence, Sabonis has simply been on fire with limited touches, posting a 25/17/10.3 triple-double average across 36.6 MPG while shooting 70.5% from the field. Although Clint Capela poses as a defensive threat to Sabonis’ ceiling in this one, the Hawks are on the second half of a back-to-back and have been playing John Collins at the ‘5’ against smaller teams, which would give Sabonis yet another opportunity to get a triple-double.

Pascal Siakam ($8,600 FD / $8,100 DK)

Logging over 38 minutes in three straight for the Raptors, Pascal Siakam finds himself in a great spot versus a vulnerable Washington frontcourt that has been decimated all season long; Siakam comes into this one with a 25.9% usage rate and 1.11 FPPM but thrives versus smaller lineups in fast paced game environments, making him an intriguing mid-range target on this NBA slate.

Also Consider:

  • PJ Washington ($6,600 FD / $6,600 DK)
  • Darius Bazely ($6,500 FD / $6,200 DK)
  • Isaiah Stewart ($5,800 FD / $6,500 DK)

Centers

  • Nikola Vucevic ($9,000 FD / $10,300 DK)
  • Jonas Valanciunas ($8,100 FD / $7,800 DK)
  • Moses Brown ($4,900 FD / $4,800 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

Three rules to an NBA slate:

  1. Follow the core
  2. Never leave the table on a heater
  3. See rules 1 & 2

It’s Taco Tuesday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride!

Steph Curry ($9,700 FD / $10,400 DK)

I pointed out that we needed to find a way to jam Curry or Draymond into our NBA lineups yesterday while locking Sabonis and Westbrook and man, did it pay off. In the exact same matchup as last night against a Pelicans team that ranks last in the NBA against primary ball handlers, bottom-5 in defensive rating since the All-Star break, and bottom-5 in made three-pointers and three-point shooting percentage, Curry is as good tonight as he was yesterday, when he dropped 41/4/8 and 8 three-pointers, good for 62 DK points.

LaMelo Ball ($6,200 FD / $7,100 DK)

Making his improbable return from a fractured wrist at the beginning of the month, LaMelo Ball has now seen 28 and 30 minutes in his first two games since March. Sporting a 28.7% usage rate and posting a 12.5/6.5/6.5 scoring line, Ball picked up right where he left off in his rookie campaign and now gets a massive price discount while taking on one of, if not the worst team in the NBA in Detroit, who allow over 48 FPPG to opposing primary ball handlers.

Also Consider:

  • Kyrie Irving ($9,500 FD / $9,600 DK)
  • Jrue Holiday ($8,000 FD / $8,100 DK)
  • Kyle Lowry ($7,400 FD / $7,400 DK)

Shooting Guards

  • I’ll be punting the position altogether on this NBA slate because my priority spend ups are at the point guard, small forward, and power forward position. Make sure to check the projections page, but guys like Ty Jerome ($4,800 FD / $3,500 DK) and Terence Davis ($3,800 FD / $4,000 DK) are top of mind early on.

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant ($10,300 FD / $9,300 DK)

He’s playing on another level right now and is fresh off a duel with Giannis which saw Durant drop 42/10/2 on 33 FGA. Durant comes into this one with a 33.6% usage rate across his last four contests, having posted a 33.5/7.3/5 scoring line on 57.6% shooting, including 56% from behind the arc, and it doesn’t look like one of the best scorers of all time is slowing down anytime soon. If you’re looking for star power on this NBA slate – which you should be – it starts right here in the BKN/MIL matchup.

Buddy Hield ($7,000 FD / $7,300 DK)

Am I in love with this play? Absolutely not. The players around this price range? Even worse. But if I am taking a chance on anyone in this midrange, especially on FD where you need to roster two small forwards, I’ll gladly take the one that will be a lock to see 20+ shots tonight in the absence of two guards that shoulder the load on offense. The Kings will be without both De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton tonight, and Hield has seen 30 or more minutes in seven straight now, averaging 13.5 FGA per night.

Also Consider:

  • Kawhi Leonard ($9,000 FD / $8,800 DK)
  • Brandon Ingram ($7,300 FD / $7,900 DK)
  • Saddiq Bey ($6,200 FD / $6,000 DK)

Power Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,400 FD / $10,700 DK)

As I pointed out in the Durant blurb, these two just faces off one another, where Giannis had massive praise for KD after a 3-point win where he dropped 49/8/4 in his own right and led the way with a whopping 36 FGA. He won’t leave the court, has the highest upside on the entire NBA slate, and is as close to a lock as it gets.

Marvin Bagley ($5,500 FD / $5,000 DK)

In the absence of both De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton for the Kings tonight, most will flock to the backcourt trio of Buddy Hield, Delon Wright, and Terence Davis, and rightfully so. However, the one offensive talent that will go overlooked is none other than the player who got drafted before Luka Doncic. After an extended absence due to another nagging injury in his young career, Bagley has since played two games for the Kings, seeing his minutes rise from 21 to 34 in their last outing versus Dallas; sporting a 25.4% usage rate that night, Bagley dropped 23/9/3 in 34 minutes while also taking 16 shots and gets an OKC Thunder team tonight that ranks last in the NBA versus opposing power forwards, allowing over 49 FPPG.

Also Consider:

  • Zion Williamson ($9,600 FD / $9,900 DK)
  • Draymond Green ($7,600 FD / $7,100 DK)
  • Isaiah Stewart ($6,200 FD / $6,300 DK)

Centers

  • Bam Adebayo ($8,300 FD / $8,600 DK)
  • Richaun Holmes ($6,600 FD / $6,300 DK)
  • Willy Hernangomez ($4,900 FD / $5,100 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

Pretty locked into this NBA slate and there’s no turning away from the core for me tonight; there is some defining injury news early on that has shaped my main lineup already, and while the new news may be enticing to some, most of these guys will be in my core later tonight on the preview show at 5:45pm EST. It’s Thirsty Thursday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

Steph Curry ($9,600 FD / $10,300 DK)

He’s sporting a 36.6% usage rate this month en route to a 37.3/6.1/4.4 scoring line on 52.7% from the field and 47.6% from behind the arc – yeah, this guy can shoot the ball. Taking on a Minnesota team that ranks 28th in the NBA in defensive efficiency and 25th versus primary ball handlers is the cherry on top. Lock and load.

Jrue Holiday ($7,500 FD / $7,700 DK)

Although I do prefer Giannis in this spot, Jrue Holiday is firmly in play with the number of injuries this Milwaukee team has. Sporting a mere 20.9% usage rate in his last seven, Holiday’s productivity hasn’t slowed down despite Giannis shouldering the load, where the former has posted a 17.1/4.9/7.7 scoring line while shooting 49.5% from the field. Taking on a Houston team that allows over 50 FPPG to opposing point guards certainly has him in today’s player pool.

Also Consider:

  • Kyle Lowry ($6,400 FD / $7,100 DK)
  • Facundo Campazzo ($4,600 FD / $4,600 DK)

Shooting Guards

Caris LeVert ($8,100 FD / $8,000 DK)

Not the best revenge narrative but it is one, nonetheless. LeVert comes into this one facing his former team being the primary scoring option alongside Malcolm Brogdon in the absence of both Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. Since the two have been out for quite some time now, LeVert has been battling minutes inconsistency, which does worry me a bit, but the upside is high on this NBA slate considering the Pacers can actually win this game, so there is no need to force minutes into the deeper part of the rotation. Sporting a 29.4% usage rate across his last ten, where he’s posted 22.7 PPG, I’d be willing to take a chance on him on FD where you need two shooting guards.

D’Angelo Russell ($6,900 FD / $6,700 DK)

Playing nearly 30 minutes off the bench for the Timberwolves has us loving DLo at these kinds of prices. With the Warriors playing much better defense, it’s less so that and more so the pace at which they play – second fastest in the NBA – that has me intrigued with Russell; sporting a 27.4% usage rate while logging 29 MPG in his last five off the bench, DLo has dropped 21.6 PPG along the way while shooting 51.3% from the field.

Also Consider:

  • Andrew Wiggins ($6,700 FD / $7,000 DK)
  • Josh Jackson ($5,600 FD / $5,800 DK)

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant ($9,300 FD / $8,500 DK)

With both Kyrie Irving and James Harden out for the Nets tonight, it’s the KD show. Do I really have to spell this one out for you? In 191 minutes played without his two teammates, KD has a 37% usage rate and over 1.55 FPPM; he dropped 45 DK last game and only took seven shots – seven. I can go on and on, but unless news comes out that dictates some sort of limitation, he’s the lock of the NBA slate.

Oshae Brissett ($6,800 FD / $5,300 DK)

With Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner both ruled out again tonight, we can go right back to the well with Brissett. Sure, his price has quickly caught up to him given how many people have been playing him in their NBA lineups, but the productivity has been there; Brissett has a mere 15% usage rate in his last four games, but that hasn’t stopped the tallest active player on the Pacers, standing at 6’7’’, from posting a 16.3/10.3 double-double average across 37.7 MPG. Playing a Nets team that struggles mightily on the inside only benefits his athletic ability and he’ll be relied upon once again to log heavy minutes.

Also Consider:

  • Michael Porter Jr. ($8,000 FD / $8,300 DK)
  • Anthony Edwards ($7,800 FD / $7,400 DK)
  • Kevin Porter Jr. ($5,600 FD / $7,000 DK)

Power Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,200 FD / $11,000 DK)

A matchup against a lowly Houston Rockets team without John Wall smells like a blowout, but let’s not forget that it took all of 24 minutes for Giannis to drop 24/14/7/2/1 against Philadelphia the other night en route to 58 DK points. In his last six games, Giannis is sporting a 33% usage rate while posting a 28.7/12.5/5.8 scoring line on 59.2% shooting and there is nobody stopping him in the paint; he has one of the highest ceilings on this NBA slate, and if there is enough value to allow for it, we can confidently slide him into our lineups.

Isaiah Stewart ($5,900 FD / $6,000 DK)

With Detroit infamously sitting out the bulk of their veterans every second game, Isaiah Stewart is someone to keep an eye on down the stretch. Not only does he take on a Dallas Mavericks team that ranks 18th in the NBA in rebounding percentage and 24th in offensive rebounding, but he’s also been a consistent producer when given the minutes; in seven starts this season, Stewart has posted a 13/11.7/1.3 scoring line on 69% shooting while producing 35.5 DK PPG.

Also Consider:

  • Zion Williamson ($9,400 FD / $9,800 DK)
  • Christian Wood ($8,400 FD / $8,200 DK)
  • Juancho Hernangomez ($4,300 FD / $3,300 DK)

Centers

  • Nikola Jokic ($10,900 FD / $10,900 DK)
  • Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,700 FD / $10,100 DK)
  • Willy Hernangomez ($4,900 FD / $4,100 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

Another NBA slate to tackle with plenty of news to follow; the list of questionable and doubtful players is endless tonight, so following the news will be as crucial as ever as we enter the latter stages of the season. It’s Wet Wednesday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

Russell Westbrook ($11,100 FD / $11,100 DK)

Not sure we can fade him on any NBA slate for the rest of the season, to be honest. He’s likely going to be a daily writeup when Washington plays and rightfully so; Westbrook has been getting triple-doubles like it’s his day job and provides with a floor/ceiling combination like no other on this slate. Sporting a 29.8% usage rate this month, Westbrook has averaged 21.7/13.1/11.9 across 37.6 MPG for the Wizards in April, where they are now 10-5 in 15 contests.

Damian Lillard ($8,100 FD / $9,300 DK)

I wrote up yesterday for being an elite option at mid-tier pricing and his tag went down – you knew this one was coming. I did point out that the matchup was tough versus Brogdon yesterday, and even with a mediocre performance, he was in the 100k winning lineup. Tonight, Dame gets a friendlier matchup versus Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, who rank 13th in defensive efficiency in their last three games and let Dame post a 23/6/5 scoring line in a 120-113 loss just a few days ago despite Lillard shooting 8-for-27 from the field. Elite option on this NBA slate at such low pricing.

Also Consider:

  • Chris Paul ($8,200 FD / $7,600 DK)
  • Terry Rozier ($7,700 FD / $7,700 DK)
  • Dejounte Murray ($7,500 FD / $7,300 DK)

Shooting Guards

Devin Booker ($7,700 FD / $8,000 DK)

Despite my preference being CP3 in this one due to my resiliency of playing primary ball handlers versus LA, Book has been getting his fair share of ball handling duties to close out quarters in the opening half; Phoenix has been going back to its old ways, whereby Booker essentially closes the first and second quarters on his own, leaving him plenty of potential to get hot when PG comes off the floor; despite the 23.5% usage rate in two games versus LA this season, Booker has a 24.5/4/5.5 scoring line on 50% shooting and will have ample opportunity with a depleted rotation in Phoenix.

Jordan Clarkson ($6,300 FD / $6,900 DK)

I get it’s a pretty penny to pay for a pure scorer that often comes off the bench, and even with both Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell already ruled out for the Jazz tonight, that still may still be the case for Clarkson, although I do expect him to start alongside Joe Ingles. Nonetheless, Clarkson saw a whopping 41 minutes in Utah’s last game without their starting backcourt, where he dropped 27/5/4 and took 27 shots with an increase in usage rate, assist rate, and scoring. There’s plenty of spots to attack on any given NBA slate, but it always starts with the worst defense in the NBA for me, which Clarkson gets tonight in a matchup versus Sacramento.

Also Consider:

  • Paul George ($9,900 FD / $9,800 DK)
  • Bradley Beal ($9,500 FD / $10,000 DK)
  • CJ McCollum ($7,700 FD / $8,100 DK)

Small Forwards

Jaylen Brown ($8,100 FD / $8,500 DK)

From yesterday’s writeup:

“I’ll keep this one short and sweet since I shouldn’t have to explain why JB should be highly considered no matter what his ownership is on tonight’s NBA slate with both Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum ruled out; Brown sees an 8.2% usage increase (37.7%), 10% assist rate increase (26.9%) and a 0.14 FPPM increase (1.18) with both of his teammates of the floor and gets a favorable matchup versus an OKC squad ranked 24th in defensive efficiency on the season and 27th in their last three games.”

JB put up 67 fantasy points. Hopefully you didn’t fade because of ownership and for the sake of “leverage” – if you did, well, lesson learned – don’t do that again.

Michael Porter Jr. ($7,700 FD / $8,600 DK)

With 20 or more points in nine of his last ten, it’s clear that MPJ has stepped up for the Nuggets in the absence of Jamal Murray. Sporting a 23.9% usage rate in that span, MPJ has dropped 24.8/7.5/1.3 on 55% shooting while logging 36 MPG for a Denver team still seeking a championship run. With a 27th ranked New Orleans defense on tap for tonight’s NBA slate, MPJ is a great GPP play with high upside.

Also Consider:

  • Joe Ingles ($6,100 FD / $6,700 DK)
  • Cedi Osman ($5,500 FD / $5,000 DK)
  • Bojan Bogdanovic ($5,200 FD / $6,400 DK)

Power Forwards

Julius Randle ($9,900 FD / $10,300 DK)

Leading the way for the Knicks all season long, who are now 10-4 in April, Julius Randle has been a force for Tom Thibodeau and company. Sporting a 32% usage rate this month in their 14 contests, Randle has posted a 26.6/9.1/6.6 scoring line on 43.4% shooting while taking over 20 FGA per night, in addition to logging a ridiculous 39 MPG. Although the addition of Nikola Vucevic improved the Bulls frontcourt defense, Randle has had his number in three previous meetings this season, averaging 21.3/11.3/7 on 41.4% shooting. On an NBA slate with power forward options, none are safer than Randle.

Tobias Harris ($7,000 FD / $7,400 DK)

Like I said above, the options at PF are thin, which means the PF2 spot on FD is up for grabs by almost the entire player pool. We need to get risky with this one, which is why I have chosen Tobias Harris, who is the clear cut #3 options on a healthy 76ers roster. However, Harris draws a favorable matchup versus John Collins tonight, who everyone knows I love to pick on; averaging 3.1 fouls per night, Collins struggles mightily on the defensive end, where the Hawks rank 24th versus opposing power forwards with over 45 FPPG allowed.

Also Consider:

  • Zion Williamson ($9,400 FD / $10,200 DK)
  • Jaren Jackson Jr. ($6,200 FD / $6,300 DK)
  • Aaron Gordon ($5,200 FD / $5,200 DK)

Centers

  • Nikola Jokic ($11,100 FD / $11,000 DK)
  • Jonas Valanciunas ($7,100 FD / $7,900 DK)
  • Enes Kanter ($4,900 FD / $4,900 DK)
  • Willy Hernangomez ($4,300 FD / $4,200 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

After a cool 20k win from one of our very own yesterday, we have another NBA slate to attack. This slate is vastly different for many teams, with the battle of getting the first overall pick at top of mind in the Minnesota/Houston game from a marquee matchup between Charlotte and Milwaukee in the Eastern conference. It’s Taco Tuesday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

One thing I want to clarify based on the questions I have received is that I will never list a player under the $5,000 FD price tag simply because I use the projection model to identify all targets in these price ranges and below.

Steph Curry ($9,700 FD / $10,300 DK)

While he finally cooled off against none other than the Wizards, let’s not forget how much of a tear Curry is on this month; sporting a 37% usage rate in April, Curry just set the NBA record for 3PM made in a single month with 85 – with two games remaining. He’s scoring at will with 38.1 PPG to go along with 6.5 RPG and 4.5 APG and takes on a Mavericks team that ranks 20th in defensive rating.

Damian Lillard ($8,300 FD / $9,100 DK)

This is far from an ideal matchup for Dame with Malcolm Brogdon on the other side, but with four straight games of 20 or more points and playoff seeding on the line, I’m taking my chances on the point guard that is underpriced by roughly $1,000 on this NBA slate. Sporting a 32.6% usage rate in his last four, Dame has posted a 25/4.5/6.3 scoring line on only 35.8% shooting, including 31.8% from deep. If he’s averaging over 43 DK PPG while shooting 35.8% from the field, imagine what happens when his shot is dropping – I’ll be there for it.

Also Consider:

  • Luka Doncic ($11,300 FD / $10,900 DK)
  • Kyrie Irving ($10,200 FD / $9,500 DK)
  • Edmond Sumner ($5,500 FD / $4,000 DK)

Shooting Guards

CJ McCollum ($8,100 FD / $8,500 DK)

If you’re not playing Dame because of his matchup with Brogdon, then look no further than his backcourt teammate to get some exposure to the Portland offense. Sporting a 27.9% usage rate on the season, McCollum logs a heavy 34 MPG for the Trail Blazers while posting a 23.3/4.2/4.8 scoring line on 44.6% shooting. While the Indiana defense is stout, the absences of Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis opens things up for a potent Portland offense to attack on this NBA slate.

D’Angelo Russell ($6,400 FD / $6,300 DK)

With the Timberwolves winning three of their last four in back-to-back series against Utah and Sacramento, DLo has been playing like his old self. Logging nearly 29 MPG in their last four, DLo has taken 15 FGA per night en route to 23.3 PPG to go along with his 7 APG on a 26.9% usage rate. It doesn’t matter if he’s coming off the bench or in the starting 5, there is no player with as much potential in this price range of the NBA slate.

Also Consider:

  • Caris LeVert ($8,300 FD / $8,200 DK)
  • Fred VanVleet ($8,000 FD / $7,900 DK)
  • Armoni Brooks ($4,100 FD / $4,300 DK)

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant ($9,700 FD / $8,300 DK)

Sporting a 3.7% usage rate this month, when KD is in the lineup, he’s been electric – simple as that. Logging 22.1 MPG in six contests this month, including 28, 30, and 27 in his last three, Durant has posted 22.7 PPG, scoring a point per minute, to go along with 4.7 RPG and 4.8 APG. Shooting a ridiculous 64.4% from the field, if we get news that he’s a full go tonight, there’s no way I’m passing up this spot against Toronto, who rank 26th in the NBA versus point forwards with over 46 FPPG allowed per game.

Jaylen Brown ($8,100 FD / $8,400 DK)

I’ll keep this one short and sweet since I shouldn’t have to explain why JB should be highly considered no matter what his ownership is on tonight’s NBA slate with both Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum ruled out; Brown sees an 8.2% usage increase (37.7%), 10% assist rate increase (26.9%) and a 0.14 FPPM increase (1.18) with both of his teammates of the floor and gets a favorable matchup versus an OKC squad ranked 24th in defensive efficiency on the season and 27th in their last three games.

Also Consider:

  • Anthony Edwards ($7,400 FD / $7,500 DK)
  • Kevin Porter Jr. ($5,600 FD / $6,500 DK)
  • Oshae Brissett ($5,600 FD / $5,000 DK)

Power Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,000 FD / $10,700 DK)

Taking on a Charlotte Hornets team that ranks 29th in the NBA versus opposing power forwards with 48 FPPG allowed, it’s hard not to love Giannis tonight. Put that together with the fact that he’s averaging 28.6/12.6/5.4 over his last five games with a 34.1% usage rate and you have yourself one of the best studs on this slate.

Pascal Siakam ($9,100 FD / $8,600 DK)

With the Brooklyn Nets allowing the 8th most points in the paint per game in the NBA, we know by now that the way to attack them is on the inside. Enter Pascal Siakam, who has five straight games of 20 or more points with a 29.8% usage rate and 7.6 RPG while taking nearly 20 FGA per night for the Raptors. He leads the Raptors with 10.9 points in the paint per night, good for 22nd in the NBA, and will be relied upon heavily to attack the inside for easy buckets.

Also Consider:

  • Christian Wood ($7,700 FD / $8,000 DK)
  • Draymond Green ($7,500 FD / $7,400 DK)
  • Jae’Sean Tate ($6,100 FD / $6,100 DK)

Centers

  • Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,700 FD / $10,000 DK)
  • Kelly Olynyk ($6,000 FD / $6,600 DK)
  • Enes Kanter ($5,100 FD / $5,100 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

NBA DFS 04/22 : Money Tips

As the Founder of WinDailySports.com I figured it was time to jump in and write an article to help everyone have a positive NBA DFS 4/22 slate. As of late, my schedule has been so chaotic with meetings that on a lot of days I fade the main NBA slate, to play the less stressful main MLB DFS slate , and then I sit down and grind the simple 2 game NBA slate which usually starts at 9pm or 10pm. It allows me to have, all or most of the news at hand so I can make the right decisions knowing that I don’t have to follow news from 6pm all the way to 10pm which I don’t have the time commitment for currently. My schedule combined with the fact of how the NBA news has been breaking, makes it so you literally need to invest 6+ hours daily to have any shot of being long term profitable. Being self aware of my schedule and making the proper adjustments has led me to some great nights as of late without stressing the grind of the main NBA slate. If you have the time, there is a huge edge right now and I have seen some 4 and 5 figure screenshots from our members in Discord just this past week. If you don’t have the time right now please be self aware and make the proper adjustments.

So we have a 6 game main slate starting at 7pm and a 2 game night slate tipping off at 9pm. Full disclosure, I am writing this at 10am so I can only assume there will be a ton of news that will force major adjustments to this article and my lineups. So please please please connect with our team in the Discord Expert Chat!

Before running to the DraftKings, FanDuel, or Yahoo lobby to construct your NBA DFS lineup after reading this article, please make sure to utilize the abundance of tools we have at Win Daily:

Enough small talk, lets look into the full NBA DFS 4/22 slate. I’m breaking the slate down from a DraftKings perspective.

Point Guards

Luka Doncic $11,000

Now we all know Luka is great at playing basketball. He’s physical mismatch for anyone who covers him and he is active in every aspect of the game. At $11,000 he is not a must have but he is the only guy I would be spending up on at the PG position. Luka is making a playoff push and this game is meaningful for the Mavericks so we should see a motivated Luka who has dropped 60+ points in 3 straight games. I have Luka slightly ahead of Embiid (on a back to back) and Giannis. In early mocks I made Luka is the only 10k+ guy I have in my builds.

Coby White $5,500 & Jalen Brunson $4,600

I love using my point guard slots to lock in my value plays and on most nights I like jamming in two of them to free up salary at other positions. The reason being is I feel safer with value point guards and the floor they possess over shooting guards, small forwards, and power forwards. A lot of times role players getting a spot start or increased minutes don’t have a real role in the offense. But with point guards you’re at least assured one thing, they will have the ball in their hands and be a facilitator in the offense. This should ensure some assists and points scored which won’t come from a shooting guard who just sits in the corner praying for a shot opportunity. Both White and Brunson are now starters with increased minutes and usage in their offense which should lead to fantasy goodness.

Shooting Guards

Garrett Temple $3800

Trust the damn model! If a guy is at the top of the value model and he’s starting 9 times out of 10 I will have shares of him in my lineup. Temple is now a starter with Lavine sidelined and has exceeded 24 minutes in the last 4 games. At a $3800 price tag I’m content with him getting 20 points, I believe he can easily get 25, and I know if the ball bounces right he can exceed 30+. I like the individuals matchups for the guards in this game and this game should stay close which will allow for some fantasy goodness.

Terry Rozier $8,400

Terry has really stepped during the absence of Ball and Hayward. If you like to track recent game logs you will see Rozier is coming off 53, 52, 69, and a 43 point game. All of which would have exceeding 5x value and once eclipsing more than 8x which is what you need to win a GPP. It really comes down to roster construction for me. Out of the 4 guards mentioned above Rozier will land at number 5 for “safest” value. If I have enough salary to get there Rozier is a fine play and should end up being the highest scoring SG on the slate.

Small Forwards

Josh Jackson $5500

It wouldn’t right to write up a article (which is usually done by my good friend Ghost) without writing up one of his favorite DFS players in Josh Jackson. I know first hand how excited Ghost gets when he gets Josh Jackson in a good spot at less than 10% ownership and I believe we have that spot tonight. With minutes available and usage in his hands Jackson can find a way to 40 points on any given night. Jackson is more of a GPP play than anything but at $5500 I believe we can lock in a floor of 25 in a weak small forward slot. You can avoid this spot by sliding Temple or Doncic in this spot and load up on more guards.

Patrick Williams $4300

This play is all about the minutes. When I am searching for value at the small forward position I need to lock in a solid floor of minutes. The minutes are there for Williams. He has received over 26 minutes in 9 out of the last 10 games and that shouldn’t change tonight. Lets keep this one simple and move on. Give me 26+ minutes against the 30th ranked defense at defending the small forward positions and we should have red flames next to his name on DraftKings. Lock in 25+ fantasy points out of Williams and save the salary to grab another stud.

Power Forwards

PJ Washington $5900

Another safe slot in this Hornets / Bulls game. Give me a cheap price tag on Washington in a good matchup versus the Bulls. Coming off a 33 and 45 point game and 4 out of the last 5 games with over 33 point production makes me land here, if I am looking for mid range value. The model stands behind this play and when you sort by value he is currently sitting at the 3rd best value spot on the board at PF.

A lot of question marks currently on the High End

As I’m writing this, we have Giannis, Tobias, and Jayson all Questionable and we may have the return of Anthony Davis. So lets get this out of the way I am not playing Davis and I will be fading Tobias even if he plays. Up top I like Giannis slightly better than Tatum but I do like them both if I find a way to get two high priced players in my lineup. I will not be forcing them in and the key here is to monitor the news on these two guys throughout the day because if either are out there will be must plays on the Bucks and Celtics that we will need to lock in.

Centers

Here are the Centers that I currently have in my player pool that I haven’t mentioned above who have multiple position eligibility.

  • Joel Embiid $10,500
  • Nikola Vucevic $10,000
  • Jakob Poeltl $5900
  • Mason Plumlee $4900
  • Tristan Thompson $4800
  • Lauri Markkanen $4100
  • Daniel Theis $3700

I will continue to stress the importance of having discipline and being self aware of your time and strengths when managing your bankroll. Make sure to constantly check both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for the NBA DFS 4/22 slate.

This NBA slate is a behemoth and I am absolutely here for it! No better day for a big NBA slate and we’re looking to attack this one with the same process we always do: find the elite game environments and narrow down the individual plays. It’s Wet Wednesday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

Russell Westbrook ($10,800 FD / $10,900 DK)

Make it now eight triple-doubles for Russell Westbrook in his last nine games and we have ourselves the game to attack. Beginning the NBA slate with a banger in in Washington, Westbrook comes into this one with a 29.1% usage rate and a 21.8/13.6/12.9 scoring line in his last nine, shooting 45.8% from the field while taking over 18 FGA per game. Considering this game features the league’s fastest and third-fastest teams going at one another, it is by far the best game environment in total possessions and lack of defensive awareness, making a perfect combination for NBA DFS glory.

Steph Curry ($10,200 FD / $10,500 DK)

Sit back and appreciate greatness; that’s the approach I take when watching Steph Curry take an NBA court and do what he does best – shoot the basketball. Not only has Curry has on a tear in his last eleven games with a 38.1% usage rate and 40/6.1/4.5 scoring line with 78 3PM, but he finds himself in a matchup versus a Washington team that plays at the fastest pace in the league, ranking 28th versus primary ball handlers and 22nd in defensive rating. Need I say more?

Also Consider:

  • Luka Doncic ($11,000 FD / $10,800 DK)
  • De’Aaron Fox ($9,900 FD / $10,000 DK)
  • Kyrie Irving ($9,400 FD / $9,900 DK)
  • Malcolm Brogdon ($7,500 FD / $7,700 DK)
  • Kyle Lowry ($7,000 FD / $7,700 DK)
  • FD Special: Damian Lillard ($8,600)

Shooting Guards

Devin Booker ($8,600 FD / $8,600 DK)

I hate being that guy that looks at game logs from seasons ago, but just take a look at what Devin Booker does versus the 76ers:

Sure, they have only played once this season, but even then, Book dropped a cool 36/5/4 on 23 shots and 60.9% shooting; tune into the NBA stream tonight for why I ride this narrative out.

Bradley Beal ($8,500 FD / $9,400 DK)

Steph Curry overtook him as the leading scorer in the NBA, but Bradley Beal is back, baby. Now having five straight 30+ point performances under his belt, Beal is still underpriced on both sites, especially in this game environment; sporting a 34.6% usage rate across his last fives games, Beal has posted a 32.4/3/3.8 scoring line on 47.2% shooting while taking a ridiculous 25 FGA per night.

Also Consider:

  • Paul George ($9,400 FD / $9,300 DK)
  • CJ McCollum ($8,100 FD / $8,800 DK)
  • Fred VanVleet ($7,500 FD / $8,200 DK)
  • Joe Ingles ($6,300 FD / $6,400 DK)

Small Forwards

Michael Porter Jr. ($7,400 FD / $7,900 DK)

While both Kevin Durant and Jimmy Butler are questionable, even if they play, I will have no exposure to either one of them. Not to say that they aren’t good plays on this NBA slate, but my priority spend ups are in that first Washington/Golden State game. Thus, enter MPJ, who has taken over the role of the #2 scorer for the Denver Nuggets in the absence of Jamal Murray. Now having 20 or more points in ten of his last eleven games, MPJ has a 22.5% usage rate and a 22.3/8.8/1.1 scoring line across 34.9 MPG in that stretch, shooting 56.5% from the field, 41.2% from deep, and gets a 29th ranked Portland defense tonight.

Anthony Edwards ($6,900 FD / $7,100 DK)

With Karl-Anthony Towns questionable on the second half of their back-to-back versus the Sacramento Kings, yesterday’s write-up to Anthony Edwards just reiterates my interest in the first overall pick for tonight’s NBA slate:

“The second-best game environment needs to be spoken about when playing tournaments on this NBA slate, and it starts with the Edwards/Towns combination on the Minnesota side. While the return of D’Angelo Russell complicates things a bit for Edwards, his 27.5% usage rate and 34.3 MPG in the month of April shows how much run he gets; averaging 22/4.5/3.5 on 43.3% shooting, this game will feature two of the leagues fastest teams and the 30th and 28th ranked defenses. Giddy up!”

Edwards went on to drop 28/4/3 with three steals and a block, shooting 21 times to lead the team to a 134-120 victory.

Also Consider:

  • Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,500 FD / $7,800 DK)
  • OG Anunoby ($6,600 FD / $6,800 DK)
  • Bojan Bogdanovic ($5,400 FD / $5,900 DK)

Power Forwards

Pascal Siakam ($8,700 FD / $8,700 DK)

With the Toronto Raptors finally having everyone off the injury report, it’s time to make the push for the play-round and the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. Holding the tiebreaker with Washington but not with Chicago only means that it’s a “win and you’re in” mentality for The North moving forward, and it starts with the trio of Lowry/VanVleet/Siakam. Sporting a 25.5% usage rate this season, his game has been wildly inconsistent this NBA season, but the matchup versus a Brooklyn Nets team that is ranked 28th versus power forwards and 18th in points allowed in the paint per game bodes well for Siakam’s skillset.

Draymond Green ($7,400 FD / $7,100 DK)

With the Wizards lining up Daniel Gafford for more time at the ‘5’ than Robin Lopez and Alex Len, Draymond will see a ton of minutes against a smaller center than he is accustomed to. His 33.9% assist rate will be on display tonight as the Warriors take on a Wizards team that will be preoccupied with double-teaming the greatest shooter of all time, setting Dray up to both attack the paint and the glass on both ends of the court, while finding Steph for open shots.

Also Consider:

  • Julius Randle ($10,000 FD / $10,200 DK)
  • Darius Bazely ($6,000 FD / $6,200 DK)
  • Xavier Tillman ($5,000 FD / $4,200 DK)

Centers

  • Nikola Jokic ($11,300 FD / $11,000 DK)
  • Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,500 FD / $10,400 DK)
  • Joel Embiid ($10,400 FD / $10,600 DK)
  • Goga Bitadze ($5,400 FD / $4,200 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.

After yesterday’s extended run to the heater, we’re looking to keep things rolling on a smaller NBA slate. Truthfully, just as we preach planting your flag somewhere on the large slates to narrow down your player pool, the same process works for small slates to really gain an advantage over the field, who are trying to “cover all basis”. There are already names that stand out above the rest; it’s Taco Tuesday’s edition of the Gems – let’s ride.

The Lock: Kyrie Irving ($9,400 FD / $9,900 DK)

Easiest play on the NBA slate, in my opinion. With both Harden and Durant sidelined for the Nets tonight, Kyrie takes center stage in what can only be described as an amazing matchup. In his most recent game without his two fellow all-stars, Kyrie dropped 37/3/9 against the 76ers while taking 22 shots and making 13 of them. With the Pelicans ranking dead last in the NBA versus primary ball handlers, allowing over 51 FPPG to the position, Kyrie is set up to go nuclear in this one.

The GPP Gem: De’Aaron Fox ($9,900 FD / $9,800 DK)

With everyone looking to Kyrie Irving, and rightfully so, De’Aaron Fox will go completely overlooked in a great matchup. With seven of his last eight games totaling 27 or more points, Fox’s 32.8% usage rate during that span is only one statistic indicating how important he is to the Kings franchise on a nightly basis; logging over 38 MPG and putting up a 30.5/4.8/7.8 scoring line on 49.2% shooting in his last eight, Fox gets a Minnesota defense that ranks 26th against primary ball handlers and 28th in defensive rating.

The Cash Gem: Cole Anthony ($5,600 FD / $6,000 DK)

By no means is he the sexiest play on the NBA slate, but Cole Anthony’s floor is as safe as it gets in the midrange tonight – exactly what we need for cash games. Logging 29 and 34 minutes in back-to-back games for the Magic in the absence of Michael Carter-Williams, Anthony has posted a 17.5/5.5/7 scoring line on 42.3% shooting while shouldering the load on offense for a team that traded away Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, and Evan Fournier, amongst others.

Also Consider:

  • Trae Young ($9,500 FD / $9,000 DK)
  • Terry Rozier ($7,800 FD / $8,000 DK)
  • Lonzo Ball ($7,500 FD / $7,000 DK)
  • Anfernee Simons ($3,700 FD / $3,800 DK)

Shooting Guards

The Lock: CJ McCollum ($8,100 FD / $8,900 DK)

Despite there being no Damian Lillard in the lineup tonight for a second straight contest for the Trail Blazers, McCollum’s price barely moved since their last game against Charlotte. Sure, he didn’t wow us with a 22/6/6 night, but what’s important to note is that he took 22 shots, making only eight of them – the volume was there for him to be a 50+ fantasy point producer, and being the primary ball handler against a Clippers team that I love to attack with this exact role, he’s right back in the conversation to be in our main NBA lineups yet again.

The GPP Gem: Paul George ($9,000 FD / $9,400 DK)

PG13 takes games against the Trail Blazers personally, and that is putting it lightly. Not only does he have that going for him on tonight’s NBA slate, but he’s simply been balling since – wait for it – a game from two weeks ago against these very same Trail Blazers. Since then, PG has played six games, sporting a 36% usage rate while posting a 32.8/6/6 scoring line on 53.4% shooting, while also shooting 51% from deep and 90.6% from the charity stripe. Logging 34.8 MPG while Kawhi gets healthy, this is the PG show, and I am absolutely here for it.

The Cash Gem: Bruce Brown ($4,800 FD / $4,900 DK)

Similarly to the Cole Anthony play, Bruce Brown by no means is the best of the bunch. What he does provide us, though, is a safe floor as the secondary ball handler to Kyrie Irving. Averaging 27.35 DK points per contest in his last five, BB is not a player that can fill the basket, as seen by his 9 PPG and 7.8 FGA per night, but the 7.8 RPG and 3 APG give us the floor we need for our NBA cash lineups.

Also Consider:

  • Tyrese Haliburton ($5,200 FD / $5,900 DK)
  • Landry Shamet ($4,400 FD / $4,400 DK)
  • Cody Martin ($4,000 FD / $4,100 DK)

Small Forwards

Kawhi Leonard ($9,900 FD / $9,200 DK)

If you’re not playing PG13, take a long look at the top of the pricing grid at the weakest position of the NBA slate. With three straight games of 27 or more points combined with 5 or more rebounds and assists, Kawhi’s been filling the stat sheet outside of their blowout win versus Minnesota the other night, where he only played 23 minutes. He should be ready to go and takes on the 29th ranked defense in the league tonight in Portland.

Brandon Ingram ($8,600 FD / $8,400 DK)

Sporting a 31.3% usage rate in his last five games, BI is having quite the second half of the NBA season for himself alongside Zion Williamson. Averaging 28.4/4.8/6.2 in that same stretch, with no KD on the wing tonight for the Nets, Ingram will be able to take advantage of whomever lines up on him.

Anthony Edwards ($7,100 FD / $7,100 DK)

The second best game environment needs to be spoken about when playing tournaments on this NBA slate, and it starts with the Edwards/Towns combination on the Minnesota side. Giddy up!

Also Consider:

  • Norman Powell ($6,200 FD / $6,400 DK)
  • Joe Harris ($4,600 FD / $5,900 DK)
  • Jeff Green ($4,400 FD / $4,800 DK)

Power Forwards

Pay Ups

  • Zion Williamson ($9,800 FD / $9,700 DK)
  • Julius Randle ($9,400 FD / $10,100 DK)

Also Consider:

  • Harrison Barnes ($6,000 FD / $6,700 DK)
  • Blake Griffin ($5,000 FD / $5,000 DK)
  • Alize Johnson ($3,500 FD / $3,400 DK)

Centers

  • Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,800 FD / $10,600 DK)
  • Enes Kanter ($5,500 FD / $6,100 DK)
  • Hassan Whiteside ($5,400 FD / $5,800 DK)
  • DeAndre Jordan ($4,600 FD / $3,900 DK)

Value Gems: Check the projection model.

I will continue to stress the importance of having both the projection model and cheat sheet open when building lineups for a further player pool and to ease a decision between two players, in addition to finding additional value plays.
