West Ham and Leicester City are the biggest favorites on the slate but their odds are both sub -200 apiece. Therefore, we don’t have to feel we need to pull from a certain team or else. Saturday 8/21 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back for Matchweek Two of the EPL season!

We can definitely expect huge Manchester City chalk and a lot of stacks as huge favorites against open playing Norwich. However, I think we can also deviate as the goal odds on City are fairly spread out. There are other players who will have similar opportunities in other games.

Saturday 8/14 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back to the beginning of a new EPL season as we return to find normal six-game Saturday slates once again!

Unfortunately, the DraftKings slate will not be featuring the late game Liverpool@Norwich City so will not be able to pull players from all of the games over there.

Of the early games, we can rightfully expect Chelsea to be the most popular/chalkiest team to pull players from. However, as always, in large tournaments, you can opt for a side stack/game stack, etc. Or of course, single out a Chelsea player or two and go from there.

With the Liverpool game on FanDuel, it allows us a few more viable pivots as Liverpool has odds/totals within breathing room of Chelsea’s.

Notable Goal Scoring Odds

Note: Many of these players will not end up starting, but their goal odds are listed just in case. If they do not end up starting, disregard them. All odds listed +350 or below and projected starters are listed in bold.

EPL Best Odds

*Chelsea/Liverpool Parlay* (-156) – “DraftKings Sportsbook” – “Note: DK Sportsbook has a 33% Boost on a Three Leg Parlay in case you see another leg you want to add”

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

You have two teams vastly superior to their opposition and looking to stake their claim against Manchester City in the EPL Title race early on. Crystal Palace is arguably worse with the loss of Andros Townsend and other depth pieces. Meanwhile, Chelsea has had time to gel and is coming off a stunning Champion’s League campaign. While incoming addition Romelu Lukaku has yet to arrive, the Blues shouldn’t need him at home against lowly Palace.

As for Liverpool, getting to face Norwich Week One is a gift. Once the talk of the soccer world two years ago, Liverpool has drifted from a UCL and EPL champion to the very outside rank of Champion’s League and EPL title contenders. Finally healthy outside of Andy Robertson and Virgil Van Dyk, if they can’t put forth a decent showing here and get their season off to a good start, it would be surprising. Norwich makes it’s return to the EPL and it’s Mike D’Antoni-esque open style of play works well in Championship, but leads to some blowouts against EPL caliber teams.

Tuesday 5/18 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back as we are in the final week of the 2020-2021 English Premier League. We find ourselves at the beginning of a midweek Tuesday/Wednesday Match week, 37/38.

The first three games listed are lacking in significance but the stakes couldn’t be bigger in the Chelsea/Leicester city match.

Liverpool will be certainly be paying a close eye to the result. Currently, they sit just beneath both Leicester City and Chelsea in the table with two matches left and Champion’s League qualification on the line.

Saturday 5/15 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back as we have a pair of games from Matchweek 36/38.

There is a bit of a time gap as the first game, Fulham at Southampton, starts at 10 a.m. ET and the second, West Ham and Brighton, 3 p.m. ET due to the FA Cup Semifinal.

Unfortunately, as a result, DraftKings decided to turn both of the matches into Showdowns rather than run out a classic slate. Therefore, I will be playing more on FanDuel for a change.

EPL Best Odds

*Pascal Gros to Score* (+375) – “DraftKings Sportsbook”

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Pascal is more of an assist man but his role as the penalty kick taker provides him access to some easy goals on occasion. Given the very low +375 odds, it’s worth a small stab.

This article focuses on 5/11 EPL Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format. The goal is to gain an edge on the field at large.

Tuesday 5/11 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back as we continue with Matchweek 35/38.

First up, we have a big match between two current top four teams in Manchester United and Leicester City. Manchester United needs a win to stay alive in the Premier League title race despite their already slim odds. Teenager Mason Greenwood is in terrific form right now, as is the old man, 34-year-old striker Edinson Cavani. Along with Bruno Fernandes, the aforementioned duo will look to lead United in the scoring column once again.

Meanwhile, following a disastrous outing against Newcastle, Leicester City needs points here to keep their top-four position for Champion’s League qualification next season. They do not inspire much confidence here against a United team on the rise.

Finally, we have Crystal Palace traveling to the south coast to take on Southampton. Danny Ings may return from off the bench for this one as the Saints are decent favorites.

Notable Goal Scoring Odds

Note: Many of these players will not end up starting, but their goal odds are listed just in case. If they do not end up starting, disregard them. All odds listed +300 or below and projected starters are listed in bold.

Manchester United (+143) at Leicester City (+200) Edinson Cavani (+188), Kelechi Iheanacho (+190), Bruno Fernandes (+210), Jamie Vardy (+210), Marcus Rashford (+260), Mason Greenwood (+260)

Crystal Palace (+245) at Southampton (+108) – Danny Ings (+135), Che Adams (+215), Jean-Philippe Mateta (+230), Christian Benteke (+250), Wilfried Zaha (+250), Daniel N’Lundulu (+250), James Ward-Prowse (+280), Takumi Minamino (+280), Michy Batshuayi (+285), Nathan Redmond (+320), Nathan Tella (+340)

EPL Best Odds

*Eberechi Eze to Score* (+540) – “DraftKings Sportsbook”

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

The bane of my existence; this past Saturday, Eze amassed high ownership between a role on set pieces and a tasty matchup with pathetic Sheffield United. Nevertheless, he happened to have a two-point day, with a late goal the highlight. Now there is no chance I am paying $9,000 for him on DraftKings. That said, with +540 scoring odds here it is worth a small hedge if not playing him.

Saturday 5/8 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back as we continued to wind down EPL Saturdays with Matchweek 35/38.

The first game should be an absolute snooze fest between this pair of bottom barrel teams. I guess as Austin might say, “Up the Palace!”.

Following that, we have a dramatic shift to a preview of the Champion’s League Final between Manchester City and Chelsea. Both of these teams are coming in very confident and the result should be entertaining.

Finally, we have Liverpool as an insane -345 favorite hosting an injury-depleted Southampton team. Minus the likes of Danny Ings, I get it a little, but I think the odds are very generous for the Reds. Particularly given their form this season.

These odds may be based more on reputation and the game being played at Anfield than current form. Either way, on a slate lacking great options, both Mohammed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold seem like building blocks.

Notable Goal Scoring Odds

Note: Many of these players will not end up starting, but their goal odds are listed just in case. If they do not end up starting, disregard them. All odds listed +300 or below and projected starters are listed in bold.

Crystal Palace (+148) at Sheffield United (+195) – Wilfried Zaha (+215), Christian Benteke (+225), Jean-Philippe Mateta (+225), David McGoldrick (+265), Michy Batshuayi (+260), Rhian Brewster (+265), Lys Mousset (+265)

Southampton (+850) at Liverpool (-345) Mohammed Salah (-155), Diego Jota (-103), Sadio Mane (+133), Roberto Firmino (+165), Xherdan Shaqiri (+265), Che Adams (+400)

EPL Best Odds

*Mason Mount to Score* (+550) – “DraftKings Sportsbook”

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

I wouldn’t put a huge wager on this one given Manchester City’s perhaps world best defense. However, Mason Mount is routinely given sub-standard scoring odds compared to some of his teammates. This comes despite his great form.

This article focuses on 4/24 EPL Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format. The goal is to gain an edge on the field at large.

Saturday 4/24 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back for another fun-filled EPL Saturday! Without an early game, we also get a little bit of extra sleep in.

There are two matches on tap for today’s slate but the first game at main lock should be the most popular of the two. Both Chelsea and West Ham are in the mix for a top-four EPL finish and a spot in next year’s Champion’s League. Aside from that, Brighton should also be very popular facing lowly Sheffield United.

Notable Goal Scoring Odds

Note: Many of these players will not end up starting, but their goal odds are listed just in case. If they do not end up starting, disregard them. All odds listed +300 or below and projected starters are listed in bold.

Chelsea (-134) at West Ham (+375) – Olivier Giroud (+155), Tammy Abraham (+155), Timo Werner (+190), Christian Pulisic (+240), Kai Havertz (+240), Mason Mount (+270), Jesse Lingard (+275), Hakim Ziyech (+310), Jorginho (+335)

Brighton (-141) at Sheffield United (+440) – Neal Maupay (+148), Danny Welbeck (+195), Aaron Connolly (+220), Andi Zeqiri (+260), Percy Tau (+275), Alireza Jahanbakhsh (+275), Leandro Trossard (+290), José Izquierdo (+310), Pascal Gros (+335)

EPL Best Odds

*Chelsea to Win* (-134) – “DraftKings Sportsbook”

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

For this Chelsea team to take that next step, they need to show they can put away these sorts of games. Chelsea is in a great position to return to the Champion’s League next year at the expense of many other sides, as well as appear in a UCL semifinal this coming week. This West Ham team has definitely exceeded expectations this season, but perhaps today is when Cinderella loses her slipper!

  9. Jarrod Bowen – West Ham – $18 “Share of Set Pieces”
  10. Leandro Trossard – Brighton – $16

Defense

  1. Reece James – Chelsea – $10 “Set Pieces”
  2. Fabian Balbuena – West Ham – $8
  3. Adam Webster – Brighton – $9
  4. Angela Ogbonna – West Ham – $10

Saturday 4/10 EPL Slate and DFS Gameplan

Welcome back for another fun-filled EPL Saturday! We only have two matches on tap for today’s slate but they feature two teams that had featured mid-week in the Champion’s League. Albeit to the tune of very different results.

Chelsea took care of business against Porto, building a two-goal advantage. Meanwhile, Liverpool put up a disastrous effort, with the result a 3-1 deficit to Real Madrid heading into the second leg.

Notable Goal Scoring Odds

Note: Many of these players will not end up starting, but their goal odds are listed just in case. If they do not end up starting, disregard them. All odds listed +300 or below and projected starters are listed in bold.

Aston Villa (+540) at Liverpool (-205) – Mohammed Salah (-127), Diego Jota (+123), Sadio Mane (+148), Roberto Firmino (+200), Ollie Watkins (+280), Xherdan Shaqiri (+330), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (+360), James Milner (+400), Anwar El Ghazi (+410)

Chelsea (-190) at Crystal Palace (+600) – Olivier Giroud (+143), Tammy Abraham (+143), Timo Werner (+163), Christian Pulisic (+250), Mason Mount (+250), Jorginho (+310), Kai Havertz (+310), Hakim Ziyech (+335), Wilfried Zaha (+360), Jean-Philippe Mateta (+380), Christian Benteke (+410)

EPL Best Odds

*Manchester City to Win* (-345) – Parlay Piece – “DraftKings Sportsbook”

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

I’m not a fan of money lines for soccer in general, but I’ll make an exception for the machine that is Manchester City. With Bayern Munich at a deficit to PSG in the Champion’s League, these boys are licking their lips. A rare treble consisting of the domestic tournament “FA” title, Champion’s League title, and domestic league “EPL” title, is in play for them. The English Premier League part? That’s the light work.
