We are going to start by breaking down the four-game LPL LCK DFS slate scheduled to go off at 4 am Eastern standard time on FRIDAY. The DraftKings and FanDuel slates lock at 4 am SHARP. The slate is four best of three-game series combining games from the LPL and LCK (Chinese and Korean League). I will be giving a short and to the point breakdown of each match.

At the later stage of my article, I will have a list of my favorite captain’s/stars in order of preference. This article is for both Draftkings and FanDuel.

LCK MATCH ONE (4 AM EST):

SK TELECOM T1 (T1) (-335) VS. KT ROLSTER (KT) (+235).

LCK PROJECTED STARTERS: (CONFIRMED STARTERS WILL BE RELEASED ON TWITTER PRIOR TO THE MATCH)

(T1)

(TOP) CANNA
(JNG) CUZZ/ELLIM
(MID) FAKER
(ADC) TEDDY
(SUP) EFFORT

(KT)

(TOP) SOHWAN/SMEB
(JNG) BONO
(MID) UCAL/KURO
(ADC) AIMING
(SUP) TUSIN

This, to me, is one of the perfect CASH GAME stacks to use. T1 is an elite level team in the LCK, and not many teams can compete with their skill level and experience. They will force opponents to make mistakes and then capitalize on them. T1 is in a class of their own when it comes to strategic game-planning. They should dismantle KT without much of a fight.

KT is by no means a reliable team; they have many issues when it comes to producing kills and closing out games. KT should not make as many mistakes as they do. If those strategic mistakes start happening, T1 is going to have a field day. I will have 20% of KT in my lineups in GPP’s only (as a differentiator) and 80% of T1.

MY LCK DFS PICK: SK TELECOM T1 (T1) (-335)

LCK MATCH TWO (7 AM EST):

TEAM DYNAMICS (DYN) (-110) VS. SANDBOX GAMING (SB) (-125).

LCK PROJECTED STARTERS: (CONFIRMED STARTERS WILL BE RELEASED ON TWITTER PRIOR TO THE MATCH)

(DYN) (VERY CONFIDENT IN STARTERS)

(TOP) RICH
(JNG) BEYOND
(MID) KUZAN
(ADC) DEOKDAM
(SUP) GUGER

(SB) (VERY CONFIDENT IN STARTERS)

(TOP) SUMMIT
(JNG) ONFLEEK
(MID) FATE
(ADC) ROUTE
(SUP) GORILLA

Team Dynamics is a brand new team as of this split. They have shown that they know how to play with the big boys, but have yet to show us a notable win. When DYN is firing on all cylinders, they look like a well rounded experienced team, but that is not often enough. When DYN gets overwhelmed and put into bad situations by their opponent, that is when their rookie tendencies come out.

Sandbox gaming is definitely not the end all be all in the LCK. As a matter of fact, they are not even close to the top of the list. SB likes to stay in games, but blow it at the end. I feel as if this will be a very close series, but DYN will come out ahead in the end. I will have a 60% (DYN)/ 40% (SB) split of the stacks from this matchup in my lineups.

MY LCK DFS PICK: TEAM DYNAMICS (DYN) (-110).

LPL MATCH ONE (5 AM EST):

DOMINUS ESPORTS (DMO) (+390) VS. ROYAL NEVER GIVE UP (RNG) (-700).

LPL CONFIRMED STARTERS:

(DMO)

(TOP) CHELIZI
(JNG) XIAOPENG
(MID) TWILA
(ADC) XUBIN
(SUP) YUI

(RNG)

(TOP) NEW
(JNG) XLB
(MID) XIAOHU
(ADC) GALA
(SUP) MING

This is another matchup that will be great to target for cash games. The highest owned and most likely to win team is far and away RNG. RNG is an elite team with elite-level talent. They have the ability to beat any team on any given day. When they have everything clicking, there is no one that can stop them. The problem most of the time when they face top tier teams, they choke. They make too many mistakes and eventually get edged out.

The good thing about this matchup is they are facing DMO. DMO is atrocious. They should not even be considered a professional team, but here they are. RNG should destroy DMO on every aspect of the map en route to a 2-0 sweep. I will have 90% of RNG and 10% of DMO (lighting money on fire).

MY LPL DFS PICK: ROYAL NEVER GIVE UP (RNG) (-700).

LPL MATCH TWO (7 AM EST):

VICI GAMING (VG) (+135) VS. LGD GAMING (LGD) (-185).

LPL CONFIRMED STARTERS:

(VG)

(TOP) CUBE
(JNG) AIX
(MID) ZEKA
(ADC) IBOY
(SUP) MAESTRO

(LGD)

(TOP) LANGX
(JNG) PEANUT
(MID) XIYE
(ADC) KRAMER
(SUP) MARK

This matchup will most likely be in the winning GPP lineup. This is a tough game to predict and is a lot closer than Vegas odds suggest. In my opinion, VG is going to put up a tough fight and can potentially beat LGD. LGD is a good team but tends to fall to kill happy teams. VG is a kill-happy team but is also a kill feeding team.

I will be siding with VG here for ownership purposes in bigger GPP’s. I also believe that they can win in a best of three series. LGD is going to have to rely heavily on Kramer to get it done here, and I don’t think he can handle it. Just in case I will have 40% exposure to LGD and 60% exposure to VG to cover my basis.

MY LPL DFS PICK: VICI GAMING (VG) (+135).

FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:

GALA (RNG) ADC)

XIAOHU (RNG) (MID)

TEDDY (T1) (ADC)

FAKER (T1) (MID)

IBOY (VG) (ADC)

KRAMER (LGD) (ADC)

ZEKA (VG) (MID)

XIYE (LGD) (MID)

KUZAN (DYN) (MID)

ROUTE (SB) (ADC)

XUBIN (DMO) (ADC)

SLATE SUMMARY: LPL LCK SUMMER SPLIT

I will be building twenty ESPORTS DFS lineups. My exposure in my LOL DFS lineups will consist of 90% RNG, 80% T1, 60% DYN, 60% VG, 40% LGD, 40% SB, 20% KT, and 10% DMO. All of my stacks will be four/three. I will prioritize using ADC and MID in my captain spot. Any lineup that I can not use ADC or MID because of salary requirements, I will be using JNG. If by chance, JNG does not fit and ONLY if I can not fit the three prior positions, I will use a TOP or SUP in my captain spot. My main focus is trying to build lineups using my favorite captain/star for each individual team stack.

LOL DFS: Naldo’s Legendary LOL LPL/LCK Picks for 7/26

Today we will be looking at the LOL LPL/LCK slate 2020 Summer Split on 7/26/2020 @ 4:00 am EST. Below I will provide my top three targets for cash games for the day, correlation plays, as well as projected lineups to make your building of a line a lot easier. Any questions about the article or tips feel free to hit me up on discord.

7/26 LPL/LCK Slate Breakdown

SeolHaeOne Prince (SP)(+265) vs. SandBox Gaming(SB)(-385).

*****LCK does not release lineups unless it is the first game. These are just PROJECTED lineups and are subject to change.*****

This is going to be one of the games where you want to have exposure to cash games. SandBox should be a priority stack for cash, even GPP. They are leading in every statistical category so far compared to SP and its to be expected. SBś stats actually look worse than their actual gameplay due to their horrible start to the season. But since Yamato, their coach came to the picture the team has actually looked very decent pulling a few wins and only losing to the top teams in the league. Expect SandBox to feed on SP early, and throughout the entire game. Love SandBox as a cash play and it’s one of the few safe teams to use on them.

 SB Favorite Plays:

  • (JNG) OnFleek
  • (MID) Fate
  • (ADC) Route

LCK Pick to win: SandBox Gaming

KT Rolster (KT) (-155) vs. Team Dynamics (DYN)(+110).

*****LCK does not release lineups unless it is the first game. These are just PROJECTED lineups and are subject to change.*****

These two teams are very similar when it comes to their game stats. Both of them are not great early farmers or even aggressors. Though KT does have the advantage in first blood, while DYN does have the advantage in first tower percentage. This is a game that I feel will go back and forth. And while I do have KT as the winner, I can see DYN pulling the upset as decent live dogs. This is a spot that I like DYN on, but before I go to DYN for an underdog pick on y lines I would rather go elsewhere from one of the LPL games in which we will speak about shortly. With that said, I like KT here to get away with the win with the help of Aiming at the late game. If DYN does have a chance to win it will be through the top lane with the help of Rich.

 KT Favorite Plays:

  • (MID) Kuro
  • (ADC) Aiming
  • (SUP) Tusin

LCK Pick to win: KT Rolster

JD Gaming (JDG) (-700) vs. BiliBili Gaming (BLG)(+400).

This game features my second cash lock to pair my SB stacks with. JDG comes are the clear heavy favorite against BLG and with good reasoning. BLG has not beaten anyone worth noting in the past. And while they have made improvements, those changes are not going to be significant against a team like JDG, a top-three team. JDG will be the highest owned team in the slate which makes them a near-cash lock. They lead every category in-game compared to BLG, aside from the vision percentage. BLG tends to drive teams into the late game and use that time to try and dismantle them. The problem here is that JDG is probably one of the best teams in the late game. Expect JDG to control the pace of the game and do what they want with BLG. This is not only a great cash play but also a great GPP stack to use. I have no interest in BLG, but if you were to make a stack for it as a long shot GPP play, it will all start with JNG, MID, and ADC position.

 JDG Favorite Plays:

  • (TOP) Zoom
  • (MID) Yagao
  • (ADC) Loken

LPL Pick to win:  JD GAMING

Top Esports (TES) (-215) vs. Invictus Gaming (IG)(+155).

Banger. Banger is probably how you would describe this game. This will be the game of the night and possibly game of the week and everyone is excited about it. We have TES, currently the top team in the LPL going up against IG who has looked extremely sharp in their past few games. These two teams measure up very similarly in stat comparison which makes this matchup even tougher to predict.  We have JackeyLove going up against his former team, and not only his former team. But nearly the entire IG roster were JL teammates at the time. IG has improved its gameplay after making Baolan their starting support. TheShy is actually playing at a level we have not seen for some time, and Ning finally is adjusting to their style of play. I will say that Rookie has not looked his best as of late, which could technically mean trouble for him against arguably the top MID laner in the world in Knight.

Honestly could see this game going either way. But TES is just too sharp and I am betting JackeyLove has been waiting for this moment since the moment he was dropped by IG. Both sides have their own narrative to win for and I am all for it. I believe the key to winning this game will be whether Rookie can bring his A-game or not. Knight will look for any chance to destroy him and any other that tries to get close. TES is the more complete team in my eyes and should get the win. But IG probably is my favorite underdog of this slate and will have a lot of exposure to them too. This game will be gold, so I want exposure no matter what.

 TES Favorite Plays:

  • (JNG) KARSA
  • (MID) KNIGHT
  • (ADC) JACKEYLOVE
  • (SUP) YUYANJIA

 IG Favorite Plays:

  • (TOP) THESHY
  • (MID) ROOKIE
  • (ADC) PUFF
  • (SUP) BAOLAN

LPL Pick to win:  Top Esports [60/40 Split Exposure]

LOL DFS: Naldo’s Legendary LOL LEC Picks for 7/25

Today we will be looking at the LOL LEC slate 2020 Summer Split on 7/25/2020 @ 11:00 am EST. Below I will provide my top three targets for cash games for the day, correlation plays, as well as projected lineups to make your building of a line a lot easier. Any questions about the article or tips feel free to hit me up on discord.

7/25 LEC Slate Breakdown

SK Gaming (SK)(+290) vs. Mad Lions (ML)(-450).

To no one’s surprise here we have Mad Lion against SK Gaming. No reason to get cute here. Mad Lions lead all stats in comparison to SK and should take care of business here. SK is a team that stalls out the game as much as they can to set up for Crownshot to carry the team. Mad Lions will get active in the early game and control the pace of the game. Expect Mad LIons to deliver day in and day out throughout the split. They are prime cash, AND gpp team that will carry your lines most night They do come with the highest ownership of the slate but with reasoning.

LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (TOP) Orome  (Value option)
  • (MID) Humanoid (Top Optimal option)
  • (ADC) Carzzy (Top GPP option)

LEC Pick to win: MAD LIONS

exceL Esports (XL) (-105) vs. Team Vitality (VT)(-130).

This is a matchup that had me a little confused when I saw the odds as they lean towards Vitality being the favorites. I firmly believe the XL takes the win here and is a good viable stack to use in your GPP lines to fit in your stud stacks. XL currently leads in almost every category, aside from vision against VIT which is good. Vitality has some issues closing out games, and most times fall apart. They are indeed a great early game team but somehow lose control around the mid-game and as the game goes the distance. I am never a fan of hedging so I will take a stand with XL here and expect them to deliver. They are underrated and should take care of business.

 LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (ADC) Patrik (Top Optimal option)

LEC Pick to win: XL Esports

G2 Esports (G2) (-110) vs. Rogue (ROG)(-125).

G2 Esports, possibly the most hated team right now by far after dropping a game against Schalke 04. There is no way I could blame you, but if there is anything I have learned in DFS is that you have to forgive and forget. You are probably asking yourself..¨They just lost against the worst team in the league, why should I pick them against one of the top two teams in the league?¨ And it’s quite simple, overall the stats of these two teams compare to be relatively close except for the objectives which Rogue holds a decent sized advantage. I do expect Rogue to win this game, but knowing Rogue their upside is always capped due to their slow play and lack of fights.

I have no interest in Rogue, but I actually have some interest in G2. At the end of the day, these are all Bo1 games. G2 has shown they play better against the top teams as they beat Mad Lions at the start of the season, and also beat Rogue. I will not tell you to play G2, I am just telling you to consider them if you are making a few lineups. They are a team that has the potential to upset, and just when everyone hates them could be the perfect opportunity.

 LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (MID) Larssen (Top optimal option)
  • (ADC) Hans Sama (Top gpp option)

LEC Pick to win:  Rogue (Consider G2 for the upset if you are making a few lines)

FNATICS (FNC) (-160) vs. Team Origen (OG)(+120).

Now, these two teams have problems within their own. Problems that they will need to solve if they actually want to make it to the playoffs and contend. FNCś very own Bwipo has just not been playing up to par, often leading to his death one, two, and even three times in a row the first five minutes. Its obvious teams are now targeting his inefficient play and it’s obvious.

On the other side, Jactrol seems to be the problem. Yes, just last time I praised him for actually being able to play well within this team even though he is not historically good. Well, Jactrol actually showed us the Jactrol we all know him for. Literally almost seeming like he threw the game leading to a loss against his former team. Maybe he was nervous, or maybe his former team exposed him for what he is. Regardless Origen was really out of place, as they never decided to take over lanes, instead we had support in Jactrol that was just roaming the entire map by himself expecting hugs and kisses from his former teammates.

With that said I think Origen works together a little better against FNC who have been struggling badly but have managed to pull wins out of a hat. I am expecting Alphari to abuse Bwipo on the top lane with good communication with Xerxe.

LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (JNG) XERXE (Top gpp option)
  • (ADC) Upset (Top optimal option)

LEC Pick to win:  Origen

Game to Fade: Misfits vs Schalke 04 [Personally think Misfits wins this game, but either of these teams has high kill averages, and do not die a lot either. Expect Misfits to win but not an impressive game to target.

You can always find me in the Win Daily Sports discord or on twitter @champagneravens and ask me any question about the LOL slate, and I will 100% be there to help out. Thanks for reading Naldo’s LEC 7/25/20 targets.

LOL DFS: Naldo’s Legendary LOL LEC Picks for 7/24

Today we will be looking at the LOL LEC slate 2020 Summer Split on 7/24/2020 @ 12:00 pm EST. Below I will provide my top three targets for cash games for the day, correlation plays, as well as projected lineups to make your building of a line a lot easier. Any questions about the article or tips feel free to hit me up on discord.

Top 3 Picks for Cash Games

SK Gaming (SK)(-160) vs. exceL Esports(XL)(+115).

We have a matchup between SK, a solid middle of the pack team against Excel Esports who are just struggling left and right. I am expecting SK to once again be one of my favorite teams to roster for this slate. I called them to do well last time and they broke the slate. While I do not expect them to do the same as last time, they should still provide some decent fantasy production for their price as a low owned stack to have. Make sure you mix them up with a few favorites to stack with. I would try to focus more on the bot lane of this team, but full stacks are viable. They also serve as decent 2 man stacks for cash games.

LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (MID) ZAZEE  (GPP option)
  • (ADC) Crownshot (Top Optimal option)

LEC Pick to win: SK Gaming

Team Origen (OG) (-245) vs Team Vitality (VT)(+145).

Origen has been one of the top teams that we thought had made some questionable roster movements. But in the end, actually worked out for them when they acquired Jactrol. Jactrol quickly showed the ability to mesh together in a brand new team with his versatility with champions in the field. Team Vitality has shown flashes of beating decent teams, but they are the prime example of ¨flopping¨. Vitality has been great in the early game, beating opponents with ease. But mid-game comes in and they completely forget how to play the game and no matter how much lead they have THEY WILL give it up and lose the game. I believe Origen will have a massive upside in this game, as Vitality loves to fight. Let’s just hope we don’t get one of the miracle games and the upset happens. Because at the end of the day, Vitality has the ability to beat on any team early. If they actually manage to close out a game they can pull an upset.

 LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (TOP) Alphari (Value option)
  • (JNG) XERXE (GPP option)
  • (ADC) UPSET (Top Optimal option)

LEC Pick to win: ORIGEN

G2 Esports (G2) (-650) vs Schalke S04 (FCS)(+390).

This should not surprise anyone, though if you have been reading my articles lately you would know that Mad Lions would normally be occupying the last spot of my ¨3 Teams to Target”. G2 has a much softer matchup here that there is no way they could mess this up… right? Regardless we have a prime matchup for G2 Esports to show why they are still a powerhouse and put up some decent upside. Schalke are one of those teams that roll over and give up kills like it is candy. So expect G2 to actually capitalize here and give you a decent upside for your G2 stacks. I do prefer them in cash games, but do not mind them in GPP as the upside potential is always there with G2 in such a smash spot.

 LEC FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (TOP) Wunder (Top Cheap value)
  • (MID) Caps (Top Optimal option)
  • (ADC) Perkz (Top gpp option)
  • (SUP) MickyX (Cheap value)

LEC Pick to win:  G2 Esports

HIGH UPSIDE TEAMS TO CONSIDER:

Rogue: [Solid matchup with a lot of upside, probably falls into cash territory but most importantly have GPP takedown potential.]

MAD Lions: [We all know what they can do, day in and day out. I am not feeling the FNC matchup as a minor mistake can cost them the game. But Mad Lions is clean, and I doubt they will mess around. Depending on how aggressive FNC decides to be Mad Lions will either have an average solid output or completely go off. The price does throw me off a little but their upside always pays off.]

Fnatics: [I just finished suggesting Mad Lions, but I cannot go without giving some credit to a top team in the league that has struggled. Like I explained above, if Mad Lions slip up and commit some errors Fnatic will make them pay and will take the game if allowed to and will have a lot of upside if they do win.]

You can always find me in the Win Daily Sports discord or on twitter @champagneravens and ask me any question about the LOL slate, and I will 100% be there to help out. Thanks for reading Naldo’s LEC 7/24/20 targets.

LOL DFS: Naldo’s Legendary LCK and LPL Picks 7/24

LOL LCK GAMES

Damwon Gaming (DWG)(-1000) vs. SandBox Gaming(SB)(+525).

**These are projected lineups based on consistency throughout past games. LCK only confirms starting lineups for their first game of the slate.**

The first game on this LoL slate as we can see could turn out to be a banger. First off we have DWG, possibly the hottest team in the LCK at the moment, and a contender to actually make it far in Worlds. I love DWG and what they are doing and have said before that it seems like they are just in a speed run to reach the big stage. They are currently leading most statistics if not all in the league. Have a near 100% in first tower percentage. Average about 16.8 kills per game while only average 8.8 deaths. They are going up against SandBox Gaming, who had themselves a nice streak before they dropped a series to KT after beating them a few games ago.

DWG is just on a massive tear and should be crushing SandBox on what could be a really exciting game to watch. Showmaker and the team overall have proved that they want to be in the conversation of being the best team in the league. Given that SB has shown flashes of consistencies and strong play, I would not mind if you actually threw a line in large field GPP.

LCK FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (JNG) Canyon (Top cheap option)
  • (MID) SHOWMAKER  (Top Optimal option)
  • (ADC) Ghost (Top cheap option)

LOL LCK Pick to win: Damwon Gaming

Afreeca Freecs (AF) (-650) vs. SeolHaeOne Prince (SP)(+375).

**These are projected lineups based on consistency throughout past games. LCK only confirms starting lineups for their first game of the slate.**

This matchup is much easier to predict and should have some decent upside but only because SP is in the slate. They love to feed kills, and AF is actually pushing to be a little more aggressive than their normal preparing for a very aggressive team filled playoffs. I believe this game will go a bit under-owned which makes it a very interesting choice for large-field tournaments. AF has advantages across the board compared to SP and is the better team overall. SP has only been able to win a series and that was at the beginning of the split against the second-worst team of the LCK this LOL split. Feel comfortable rostering 2-3 man stacks from AF to get different. Kiin, Mystic, Fly should be priorities in any AF main stack you are building with them.

 LCK FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (ADC) MYSTIC (Top Optimal option)

LOL LCK Pick to win: Afreeca Freecs

LOL LPL GAMES

Victory 5 (V5) (-195) vs. Suning Gaming (SN)(+140).

Victory5 is probably one of the most fun teams to watch in LoL and it is because this team went from being the worst, to now considered one of the top three in the league. V5 took an ugly loss last time out against Invictus Gaming who is also a top team. Suning Gaming is a team that has not looked bad at all but still needs to prove themselves against a top contender to actually be considered a good team. Starting off V5 actually has the advantage in most statistical points leading in CS, gold, tower differential, etc. Both teams are not very aggressive to start the game, but stats show that V5 is the definite better early game farm team. But I believe this match will come down to team fights and going out on a limb here and call the Suning upset here to actually make their presence felt within the top teams. Either way, this is a game that will require some hedging as this can go either way.

 LPL FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (ADC) SamD (Top Optimal option for V5 stacks)
  • (MID) Angel (Top Optimal for SN stacks)
  • (ADC) Huanfeng (Top option for SN stacks)

LOL LPL Pick to win: Suning Gaming [60/40 split exposure with V5]

Royal Never Give UP (RNG) (-110) vs LGD Gaming (LGD)(-125).

This slate is filled with some decent games overall, and this one is no different. We have RNG going up against LGD in a game where both teams have looked suspect with their performance. RNG is still a very unpredictable team and I do believe they have a shot at winning. They tend to look better against the better teams and drop the ones they should crush. On the other hand, LGD has looked really good lately, noting that they just beat WE in a convincing fashion. LGD has a great early game compared to RNG, and their vision and dragon rates are just a tad bit superior as well. I am expecting LGD to win here, but will have slight ownership on RNG just in case Betty decides to hard carry this team after being replaced by GALA for some time. LGD is my team of choice, and I like LangX and company to show RNG that they did not use him properly before they discarded him. Give me an LGD sweep here to take us to cash. The roster inconsistencies of RNG will be their biggest weakness.

LPL FAVORITE CAPTAINS:

  • (MID) xiye (Gpp option)
  • (ADC) Kramer (TOP OPTIMAL OPTION)

LOL LPL Pick to win: LGD Gaming

You can always find me in the Win Daily Sports discord or on twitter @champagneravens and ask me any question about the LOL slate, and I will 100% be there to help out. Thanks for reading Naldo’s LPL/LCK 7/24/20 targets.

There may not be a bigger debate in the MLB DFS community than whether the idea of BvP is real or not. BvP has caused many arguments in the MLB DFS industry. Touts everywhere have had to draw a line in the sand and declare if they were on #TeamBvP or not.

What is BvP?

What is BvP? It stands for Batter vs Pitcher. Specifically it stands for a batter’s previous performance against a certain pitcher. While the past performance is indeed true, the question of using BvP in DFS goes much further. The real question is if a batter’s past performance against a certain pitcher is a predictor of what will happen in future match-ups. And if we should responsibly use the information for DFS lineup decisions.

So is it real?

So is BvP real in MLB DFS? The answer is it depends. While that is not a definitive answer, it is the right answer. Here is the truth about BvP: It can be used as a stat for lazy touts. These touts can easily reference BvP and it makes them look like they researched the match up and can recommend a player as a good play. But what we must ALWAYS remember is that correlation does not imply causation.

On the other hand, BvP can also be used by very informed touts who are able to better find the correlation and causation to the success for a named batter. To better understand the difference, lets take a look at two cases of a batter and his history against two pitchers.

Case 1: Mike Trout vs. Hyun-Jin Ryu

In his career against left-handed Hyun-Jin Ryu, Mike Trout is 0 – for – 10 with four strikeouts according to Rotowire. If you are a strict BvP truther, there is no way you are building your DFS lineup around Mike Trout when Ryu is on the bump, right? But by now you should already be asking yourself if you should really be scared of Hyun-Jin Ryu.

According to FanGraphs, Trout had a .294 ISO, ,408 wOBA and a 161 wRC+ against southpaws in 2019. Sounds like Trout has had plenty of success against lefties so are we still buying the BvP numbers against Ryu?

While taking a look at Ryu’s 3.05 FIP and 3.44 xFIP versus righties in 2019 it is respective but certainly should not turn you immediately off Trout.

Ryu’s splits in 2019 courtesy of Fangraphs

And as you dig deeper into the numbers, specifically what Ryu’s pitch selection is, we will see that Trout is very likely long over due for some positive regression against the left-handed pitcher in their next match-up.

According to Brooks Baseball, Ryu throw a fourseam fastball 24% of the time to right-handed batters in 2019. The southpaw also throw a change-up 31% of the time to righties last season.

Trout Results and Averages courtesy of Brooks Baseball

And don’t you know it, Trout had a .300 ISO against fourseamers and a .556 ISO versus the change in 2019 according to Brooks Baseball. All of a sudden, Trout’s 0-for-10 BvP versus Ryu isn’t so intimidating is it? In this case the correlation just doesn’t fit the causation.

While this is probably another lesson for another day, but this is the perfect opportunity to get Trout at a lower ownership than normal because the lazy touts won’t think Trout is a slam dunk against Ryu because of a lousy 0-for-10 sample.

Case 2: Mike Trout vs. Felix Hernandez

When Felix Hernandez goes to sleep at night, he likely wakes up in a cold sweat courtesy of Mike Trout. The best player in baseball, and arguably MLB DFS, has had Hernandez’s number in their 88 at-bat lopsided battles.

Mike Trout’s Career Numbers Versus Felix Hernandez courtesy of Rotowire

The next time these two are to face-off, every DFS tout will be recommending Trout as perhaps the top play on the slate. And of course, they would be right. Consider though that many of those touts would just reference the BvP as the reason why. But once again, we will see that the correlation is not the causation. But instead, it is the type of pitcher that Hernandez is that leads to Trout’s success against him.

Mike Trout’s 2019 Splits Versus Power/Finesse Pitchers courtesy of Baseball Reference

Using the image above it is easy to see that Trout crushes against non-power pitchers as defined by Baseball Reference. And guess what? Hernandez hasn’t been a power pitcher in a long time.

Felix Hernandez’s MPH Numbers Over the Last Two Seasons according to Baseball Savant

In fact he has not averaged over 90 MPH on a pitch type in two seasons. So while Trout would be a great play next time he faces Hernandez, be sure to look past the BvP numbers and see the real reason why.

MLB DFS: BVP Conclusion

While using Mike Trout as an example might be extreme because he is the best hitter in baseball, none the less, these two examples should help you decide which side of the BvP battle you need to be on. You can use the same research process to debunk or confirm the use of a bad hitter with a good BvP history against a certain pitcher.

The lesson here is simple: Dig deeper into the match-ups and numbers. Simply make sure the correlation implies the causation before you buy the hype from lazy touts.

We are going to start by breaking down the two matchups of the new LPL split scheduled to go off at 5 am and 7 am Eastern standard time on Tuesday The DraftKings and FanDuel slates lock at 5 am SHARP. The slate is two best of three-game series LPL (Chinese League) matches.

The first match is OH MY GOD (OMG) (+265) VS. FUNPLUS PHOENIX (FPX) (-385), and the second match is VICI GAMING (VG) (-160) VS. EDWARD GAMING (EDG)(+115). I am going to break down each game the way I feel it will play out. I will post my betting picks and favorite team immediately following the breakdown.

At the later stage of my article, I will have a list of my favorite captain’s/stars in order of preference. This article is for both Draftkings and FanDuel.

MATCH ONE: LPL SUMMER SPLIT

OH MY GOD (OMG) (+265) VS. FUNPLUS PHOENIX (FPX) (-385).

FPX has had a few hiccups throughout this split. They have not looked like the same team from the previous split. FPX has had great opportunities that they have not taken advantage of, and have been in terrible spots that they somehow came out on top. They are on a four-game losing streak right now, losing to a couple of top teams (JDG, TES)and a couple of mediocre teams (RW, VG).

OMG is far from a top-caliber team, but they have shown glimpses of hope. They have demonstrated the same glimpses as both RW and VG, two teams that have beaten FPX. OMG is slowly becoming a more consistent team with their overall kills and strategic planning. In my opinion, I feel as if OMG will give FPX all that they can handle, and I will be throwing a few stacks in OMG’s favor. I will have a 50/50 exposure to OMG and FPX with a slight lean to OMG taking this series in three games.

MY LPL DFS PICK: OH MY GOD (OMG) (+265)

MATCH TWO: SUMMER SPLIT.

VICI GAMING (VG) (-160) VS. EDWARD GAMING (EDG)(+115).

VG has been looking like a fresh new team as of late. They were on a five-game winning streak, then took losses from JDG and TES. Other than those two games they have been a nonstop kill producing team, destroying everyone in their path. They can potentially be a top contender, eventually. VG might not be a contender this split, but come next split, I can seriously see them getting in the mix.

EDG has looked abysmal recently. They have not proved to be a good team, and are mediocre at best. EDG has been making nonstop mistakes and not capitalizing on opportunities. Even though EDG has taken losses, they have still produced a decent fantasy score, and the same goes for VG. I will have a minimal amount of EDG (30%) and a decent amount of VG stacks (70%) in my lineups.

MY LPL DFS PICK: VICI GAMING (VG) (-160).

FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:

IBOY (VG) (ADC)

SMLZ (OMG) (ADC)

ZEKA (VG) (MID)

ICON(OMG) (MID)

HOPE (EDG) (ADC)

LWX (FPX) (ADC)

SCOUT (EDG) (MID)

DOINB (FPX) (MID)

SLATE SUMMARY: LPL SUMMER SPLIT

I will be building TEN ESPORTS DFS lineups. My exposure in my LOL LPL DFS lineups will consist of 70% VG, 50% OMG, 50% FPX and 30% EDG. Most of my stacks will be four/three. I will prioritize using ADC and MID in my captain spot.

Today im going to give you my two cash game, one honorable mention, and one gpp play for the LCS four-game DFS slate that starts at 4 pm est. This will be my reasoning behind my plays and the later stages of the article, and I will explain precisely how I will be building my winning LCD DFS lineups. Let’s get started!

At the later stage of my article, I will have a list of my favorite captain’s/stars in order of preference. This article is for both Draftkings and FanDuel.

LCS #1 PICK:

CLOUD9 (C9) (-500) (15.5 PROJECTED KILLS) VS. FLYQUEST (FLY) (+320) (8.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

LCS PROJECTED STARTERS:

(FLY)

(TOP) SOLO
(JNG) SANTORIN
(MID) POWEROFEVIL
(ADC) MASH
(SUP) IGNAR

(C9)

(TOP) LICORICE
(JNG) BLABER
(MID) NISQY
(ADC) ZVEN
(SUP) VULCAN

Cloud9 has long been known as the team to beat in the LCS. Everyone thought that they were invincible and unbeatable. Their previous two matches showed that this is not the case. It started with a lower level team (100 Thieves) and was followed up by a top tier team (Evil Geniuses) that took C9 to the cleaners. C9 does not deal with defeat well; they are a team that is very cocky and always publicly stating that they were the best. The previous two losses, in my opinion, humbled them. They are now facing off against a decent LCS team (FlyQuest).

The problem here is that C9, in my opinion, is going to change their draft up and going to bounce back here against a team that is known for feeding their opponent kills. If FLY feeds C9 kills, it will be a long day for FlyQuest, and that is precisely what I am thinking will happen. C9 should come out capitalizing on every engagement en route to a dominant bounce-back performance. Out of my five LCS DFS lineups, C9 will be a part of four of them.

MY LCS DFS PICK: CLOUD9 (C9) (-500) (15.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

LCS #2 PICK:

TEAM LIQUID (TL) (-305) (13.5 PROJECTED KILLS) VS. 100 THEIVES (100) (+215) (7.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

LCS PROJECTED STARTERS:

(TL)

(TOP) IMPACT
(JNG) BROXAH
(MID) JENSEN
(ADC) TACTICAL
(SUP) COREJJ

(100)

(TOP) SSUMDAY
(JNG) CONTRACTZ
(MID) RYOMA
(ADC) CODY SUN
(SUP) POOME

Team Liquid was once known as a top contender in the LCS, up until last year. They took some brutal beats and were not clicking at all as a team. This season we have been noticed a new group. TL has come out of the gate firing on all cylinders and producing a massive amount of kills in almost every win. They are quickly getting back to elite status. TL is currently on a six-game winning streak, and I don’t think it stops at six. TL should be able to use 100 Thieves as a punching bag and put up almost the same amount of kills as C9 will in their match. Team Liquid should funnel a ton of gold share through Jensen and Tactical on their way to a blowout performance. TL will be apart of three out of my five lineups today.

MY LCK DFS PICK: TEAM LIQUID (TL) (-305) (13.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

LCS GPP PICK:

GOLDEN GUARDIANS (GG) (-190) (11.5 PROJECTED KILLS) VS. DIGNITAS (DIG) (+135) (9.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

LCS PROJECTED STARTERS:

(GG)

(TOP) HAUNTZER
(JNG) CLOSER
(MID) DAMONTE
(ADC) FBI
(SUP) HUHI

(DIG)

(TOP) V1PER/LOURLO
(JNG) DARDOCH
(MID) FENIX
(ADC) JOHNSUN
(SUP) APHROMOO

This is the most intriguing matchup of the day, in my opinion. GG has been a mediocre team this season so far and can keep up with some of the better teams in the LCS. DIG started the season looking like the worst team in the league and seemed confused when they were in any team fight. Over the previous three games, they looked like a different team, thanks to the changes and additions they made to their team. After the changes they made, they started looking like a well put together squad en route to three wins in a row after starting the season with zero wins and eight losses. They look like a brand new team ready to compete, and I am jumping on the bandwagon. I will have DIG in three or four of my LCS DFS lineups.

MY LCS DFS GPP PICK: DIGNITAS (DIG) (+135) (9.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

HONORABLE MENTION PICK:

COUNTER LOGIC GAMING (CLG) (-145) (11.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

LCS PROJECTED STARTERS:

(CLG)

(TOP) RUIN
(JNG) WIGGILY
(MID) POBELTER
(ADC) STIXXAY
(SUP) SMOOTHIE

MY LCS DFS PICK: COUNTER LOGIC GAMING (CLG) (-145) (11.5 PROJECTED KILLS).

FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:

NISQY (C9) (MID)

BLABER (C9) (JNG)

JENSEN (TL) (MID)

TACTICAL (TL) (ADC)

STIXXAY (CLG) (ADC)

JOHNSUN (DIG) (ADC)

ZVEN (C9) (ADC)

FENIX (DIG) (MID)

DARDOCH (DIG) (JNG)

SLATE SUMMARY: LCS

I will be building five LOL DFS lineups. The way I will be building is prioritizing the gold share per team as my captain. Most of the time in the LCS, it is different than the LPL and LCK. You do not necessarily need to prioritize ADC at the captain position. You can safely use the JNG or MID at the captain position and build a winning DFS lineup. In the LCS, a lot of the time, the JNG is a gold funnel for teams, as they use that position as a safe zone and use tanky champions.

It is okay to build with JNG, MID, or ADC as captain, but I will still prioritize a four/three-stack in my lineups.

DRAGON X (DRX) (-2000) VS. HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS (HLE) (+700).

LCK PROJECTED STARTERS: (CONFIRMED STARTERS WILL BE RELEASED ON TWITTER PRIOR TO THE MATCH)

(DRX) (VERY CONFIDENT IN STARTERS)

(TOP) DORAN
(JNG) PYOSIK
(MID) CHOVY
(ADC) DEFT
(SUP) KERIA

(HLE)

(TOP) CUVEE/DUDU
(JNG) CAD/HARU
(MID) LAVA/MIREU
(ADC) VIPER
(SUP) LEHENDS

Let me be very clear. DRX IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE LCK. Last matchup DRX bounced back from their ugly first loss of the split; they took it to DWG, an impressing up and coming powerhouse team in the LCK. In the best of three series, DRX showed why they are the best, leaning majority of their kill share and gold share on the Deft/Chovy combo. I think this is going to be a repeat performance but on another level.

HLE feeds kills almost as bad as SP does. They have a tough time executing and following up on game-planning. HLE will make mistakes, and DRX will be patiently waiting to capitalize. I am leaning extremely heavily on DRX. I will have 90% exposure to DRX and 10% for HLE (giving away money).

MY LCK DFS PICK: DRAGON X (DRX) (-2000).

LCK MATCH TWO (7 AM EST):

DAMWON GAMING (DWG) (-550) VS. AFREECA FREECS (AF) (+330).

LCK PROJECTED STARTERS: (CONFIRMED STARTERS WILL BE RELEASED ON TWITTER PRIOR TO THE MATCH)

(DWG) (VERY CONFIDENT IN STARTERS)

(TOP) NUGURI
(JNG) CANYON
(MID) SHOWMAKER
(ADC) GHOST
(SUP) BERYL

(AF) (VERY CONFIDENT IN STARTERS)

(TOP) KIIN
(JNG) SPIRIT
(MID) FLY
(ADC) MYSTIC
(SUP) BEN

DWG is becoming a fan favorite. Their only two losses of the split so far came against two of the best teams in the LCK and were both brought to a third game of the best of three series. DWG looks like they have every piece of the puzzle put together. They can out farm, out kill, and beat any team in the LCK on any given day. The biggest mistake a team can make right now is to underestimate DWG.

AF learned first and foremost that DWG is not a team to mess with. AF was obliterated by DWG three matches ago. Afreeca Freecs is another team that can potentially feed kills to their opponents, and DWG took full advantage of that in their last match. I expect more of the same, with Canyon and Showmaker being the primary beneficiaries. I am going to have 80% of DWG exposure and 20% of AF.

MY LCK DFS PICK: DAMWON GAMING (DWG) (-550).

LPL MATCH ONE (5 AM EST):

ROGUE WARRIORS (RW) (+425) VS. FUNPLUS PHOENIX (FPX) (-425).

LPL CONFIRMED STARTERS:

(RW)

(TOP) HOLDER
(JNG) HARO
(MID) WUMING
(ADC) ZWUJI
(SUP) LEY

(FPX)

(TOP) KHAN
(JNG) TIAN
(MID) DOINB
(ADC) LWX
(SUP) CRISP

RW is currently riding a high after winning two matches in a row. They swept LGD and beat DMO in a full three-game series. RW has shown some real progress as of late, and they look like they are starting to mesh together with Zwuji at the helm. The problem is, they are facing off against FPX.

FPX has been far from consistent this split. They have taken some random losses throughout the split so far. FPX is going to come in with very high ownership and for a good reason. They have slipped games to LNG, IG, VG, and TES. I do not see them taking a three-game match loss to RW. What I do see is FPX producing good numbers because RW tends to feed kills to their opponent. I also see RW possibly pushing this to a third-game and producing pretty good fantasy numbers, especially from a team that can give you massive leverage in a large field GPP. My exposure will be 60% FPX and 40% RW (for leverage).

MY LPL DFS PICK: FUNPLUS PHOENIX (FPX) (-425).

LPL MATCH TWO (7 AM EST):

EDWARD GAMING (EDG) (+105) VS. LGD GAMING (LGD) (-145).

LPL CONFIRMED STARTERS:

(EDG)

(TOP) XIAOXIANG
(JNG) JUNJIA
(MID) SCOUT
(ADC) HOPE
(SUP) MEIKO

(LGD)

(TOP) LANGX
(JNG) PEANUT
(MID) XIYE
(ADC) KRAMER
(SUP) MARK

This is a match that I am not very excited about, so im going to make this one very short. EDG has looked as if they just can’t put it together. LGD has looked as if they are slightly falling apart. Both of these teams make many mistakes and can both get dismantled by any team, any day of the week. This match is a true coinflip, and that is precisely how my exposure will look. With My exposure, I will have a 50/50 split of this fight with a slight lean to LGD.

MY LPL DFS PICK: LGD GAMING (LGD) (-145).

FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:

SHOWMAKER (DWG) (MID)

DEFT (DRX) (ADC)

GHOST (DWG) ADC)

CHOVY (DRX) (MID)

LWX (FPX) (ADC)

KRAMER (LGD) (ADC)

GHOST (DWG) ADC)

DOINB (FPX) (MID)

ZWUJI (RW) (ADC)

CANYON (JNG) (DWG)

HOPE (EDG) (ADC)

SLATE SUMMARY: LPL LCK SUMMER SPLIT

I will be building twenty ESPORTS DFS lineups. My exposure in my LOL DFS lineups will consist of 90% DRX, 80% DWG, 60% FPX, 50% EDG, 50% LGD, 40% RW, 20% AF, and 10% HLE.

The first match is TEAM WE (WE) (-700) VS. LNG ESPORTS (LNG) (+395), and the second match is LGD GAMING (LGD) (-575) VS. ROGUE WARRIORS (RW) (+350).

MATCH ONE: TEAM WE (WE) (-700) VS. LNG ESPORTS (LNG) (+395).

Let’s try not to get too cute here. WE has been performing rather well this split, but have not been an unstoppable force. They have shown that they can play and beat some of the better teams in the LPL, but not the best teams. Team WE is currently sitting in sixth place in the standings, holding a record of six wins and three losses, not bad for a team that was picked on all of the spring split. WE has forced a game three with two of the top five teams in the LPL (Suning and JD Gaming); unfortunately, they could not finish them. They did take the number four team in the LPL to the cleaners in a two to nothing sweep (Invictus Gaming).

WE has been consistent with beating the middle to lower-tier teams, and now they face off against the number fourteen team (LNG Esports). WE should, and I emphasize on SHOULD come out and sweep LNG without a problem.

LNG Esports has looked abysmal as of late. They came out firing on all cylinders this split. After their first loss of the season to Suning, they looked like they had everything together and put that loss behind them when they dismantled FPX and RNG in back to back games. Little did we know, two teams that we all thought were going to be top three would eventually both be sitting in a tie for ninth place after nine matches have been played. LNG was living in the clouds after those two wins and have not won a series since.

LNG has lost six consecutive matches with minimal production in those losses. I do not see LNG pulling a miracle upset here versus a -700ML favorite. I will have more exposure to the team that has been gelling recently (Team WE). My exposure will be 80% for WE and a measly 20% for LNG, just in case they decide to pull a rabbit out of their hat.

MY LPL DFS PICK: TEAM WE (WE) (-700)

MATCH TWO: SUMMER SPLIT.

MATCH TWO: LGD GAMING (LGD) (-575) VS. ROGUE WARRIORS (RW) (+350).

This match has many people a little confused about who to pick, with good reason. LGD has been a surprise team of this split. They have been battling it out and beating some of the better teams in the LPL. They have shown that they know how to win and win together. In most of their wins this split, four out of five of their players have produced high DFS scores. Their kill participation is above average, and they are becoming a team that is starting to excel at capturing neutral objectives. When LGD is on fire, I don’t believe many teams can shut them down.

RW has been a team that has been disappointing the entire season so far, up until they just destroyed DMO. Yes, I know, its DMO. They showed signs of teamwork and showed they could put everything together and finally win a series. The problem here is that they allow a ton of kills. They are the biggest kill feeder in the LPL. On the other side, they also produce a ton of kills. Recently, RW has been killing everyone in their path, but just could not finish a team off. They have had multiple games where they outscored their opponents but still lost the match. That exact scenario is what I believe is going to happen at least in one of the games and could cause for RW to hold their value.

If RW forces a game three, they can most definitely be the benefactor of 40 overall kills, and from a losing team with cheap DFS salaries that could lead to a takedown. I will have an even 50/50 split of this game. I am going heavy on the fact that this goes to a third game. If by chance, LGD sweeps RW, the production will not be there. This is a high-risk move I will be taking. I am banking on LGD winning the series, but RW being a better value play. This could lead to a potential game stack (not always recommended). I will still try and stick to the usual 4/3 stack.

MY LPL DFS PICK: 50/50 SPLIT LGD TO WIN AND RW TO PRODUCE WELL.

FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:

JIUMENG (WE) (ADC)

KRAMER (LGD) (ADC)

ZWUJI (RW) (ADC)

XIYE (LGD) (MID)

TEACHERMA (WE) (MID)

WUMING (RW) (MID)

LIGHT (LNG) (ADC)

SLATE SUMMARY: LPL SUMMER SPLIT

I will be building fifteen ESPORTS DFS lineups. My exposure in my LOL LPL DFS lineups will consist of 80% WE, 50% LGD, 50% RW, and 20% LNG. Most of my stacks will be four/three. I will prioritize using ADC and MID in my captain spot.
