1/24 NHL Best Odds

* New York Islanders ML (-141) – Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

The DraftKings odds makers have been very low on the Islanders to begin the 2021 season. They do not like them much in terms of any sort of futures “not even favored to make the playoffs” and have them significantly below other books ML odds here. Bet MGM for example has the Islanders at -160 and FanDuel at -162. They will be facing a Devils team featuring a bush league goalie for the second time in a week and should grab another win here. Semyon Varlamov has been absolutely lights out in net and this team has stuck to their process and usual game plan of smothering defense.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “DraftKings”

St. Louis One (David Perron $4,300, Ryan O’Reilly $5,200, Zach Sanford $3,100) and Two (Jaden Schwartz $4,300, Brayden Schenn $4,800, Jordan Kyrou $3,100) and Mike Hoffman $4,100 One-Off

The Blues come in right behind Colorado at -190 for the title of biggest favorite on the the slate. However, they are dirt cheap on DraftKings. As a result, pick a line or a couple of pieces and load up. They are sure to be popular.

Top Point Per Dollar Line “FanDuel”

Minnesota One 3 Man (Kirill Kaprizov $4,700, Zach Parise $5,800, Matt Dumba $4,100) Power Play Add-On: Kevin Fiala $6,200

The Wild are underpriced on both sites but seem particularly juicy on FanDuel. Matthew Dumba is dirt cheap and gives us a defenseman with both full top line and power play correlation. Nick Bjugstad is also on the top line, playing as a forward alongside Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Parise. However, I would rather pivot to Kevin Fiala if adding a wing and target the Minnesota power play with four of the five skaters.
