The scoring is FanDuel-style so always be sure to look at the Projection Model. Ghost spends a TON of time on this, and it’s the most valuable tool for NBA DFS we have. While it’s not a one-to-one translation because of the salaries, it’s still a great place to start. Yahoo has eight positions to fill with a $200 budget, different than any other site.
Center – Hassan Whiteside, Utah Jazz – $17
There is no denying Whiteside has not been great in the past two games without Rudy Gobert, but we preach all the time that game logs shouldn’t matter that much. He’s still played at least 25 minutes in each game and this is the softest matchup of the three games. Detroit is 18th in rebounds allowed in the paint and 16th in points allowed, and the sub-par results do not reflect the upside for Whiteside. He’s averaging 1.24 points per minute when Gobert is off the floor, he’s currently the most rostered player on the slate, and he’s an absolute must-play in cash game settings.

Guard – Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets – $27
Yahoo is showing how different they are because on DraftKings, Kyrie is nearly 20% of your salary cap. On Yahoo, he’s just over 12.5% and there is still a huge upside in the scoring format. He put up 41.6 Yahoo points in his first game all season and the far more encouraging signs were a usage rate over 29% and 1.30 fantasy points per minute. He also played nearly 32 minutes so that’s enough for his current salary. The matchup is excellent too since the Blazers are on a back-to-back and they sit 29th in defensive rating. This game has the second-highest total of the night and the 10 point spread is not enough to fade Kyrie here.
Honorable Mention – Donovan Mitchell, Furkan Korkmaz ($13 is super affordable)
Forward – Lonnie Walker IV, San Antonio Spurs – $10
Walker feels almost unavoidable on Yahoo because his minimum salary and the small forward position is not that great tonight. He’s chalk, but he opens up so much in construction that he’s an easy addition. The Spurs are without four rotation players again tonight and Walker was on the floor for 32 minutes yesterday. Even with the instability built-in for Walker, the upside at the salary is virtually unmatched for this slate. In 112 minutes without the players San Antonio is missing, Walker has a 31% usage rate and 1.10 fantasy points per minute.
