IMPORTANT: NBA DFS is completely different than any other sport. Players get ruled out five minutes before games and you HAVE TO BE READY to pivot. I will update this article as close to lineup lock as possible with any big news, but play it safe and stay on top of the news yourself.

12/28 NBA DFS Point Guard

1. Elfrid Payton ($5,600 FD) Way underpriced for what he has been doing lately and gets a matchup against the Washington Wizards. Vegas expects a close game and high scoring game. The Knicks new coaching staff has been stabilizing the studs playing time which is helping the Knicks players minutes be more reliable. The Knicks played the Wiz two games ago and he put up 35 FD points. That works again for his price tonight.
2. Aaron Holiday ($4,700 FD) Only if Brogdon is out. The Pacers take on the Pelicans (25th against the PG). Holiday has be exceeding 30 FD points the past two games in tougher matchups. He didn’t get 30 minutes last night, but I think the coaches were trying to save his legs for the B2B matchup. He should see slightly more time in a superior matchup. Oh, and he will also be facing his brother Jru.

Punt: Cory Joseph ($3,600 FD) if Fox out, Isaiah Thomas ($4,800 FD) Coming off suspension to a depleted Wizards team.

Bounce Back Candidate: Kemba Walker ($7,300 FD)

Note: Luka Doncic ($10,600 FD) Price is suppressed slightly. He has a good match against Goldens State. You are going to need a ceiling game out of him for it to make sense playing him, but it could happen tonight. If I can find the salary I would love to play him but prefer spending up on Harden and Davis.

12/28 NBA DFS Shooting Guard

1. James Harden ($11.100 FD) He is in the highest implied total of the night (233.5) against the Brooklyn Nets at home and coming off an embarrassing loss Christmas Day on national TV. The spread -9.5 now (which is not a blowout) and if the Nets can keep it at least this close then Harden will get full run. He should be in store for a classic Harden smash night. I ran 100 optimizers this morning and he was in 70% of them. In a large slate like this, you need to hit the highest-scoring player(s) AND hit the 6X+ value guys.
2. Zach LaVine ($8,100 FD) He will break the slate against the Hawks if Atlanta can find a way to keep it close without their superstar Trae Young.
3. Khris Middleton ($7,700 FD) Giannis is out again. He put up 40 FD points in 26 minutes last night against the Hawks.
4. Buddy Hield ($5,700 FD) Only if Fox is out. D Russ lit up the Suns last night. Hield goes 6x if Fox is out.

Punt: Garrett Temple (4,300 FD)

Note: If KAT is out I love Andrew Wiggins. The Vegas spread leads me to believe they know that KAT is playing tonight. We are going to have to wait and see.

12/28 Small Forward

1. Lebron James ($9,800 FD) It looks like he is going to get Carmello defense. Lebron under 10k in a great matchup has to be considered. As of now, I am planning on one Lebron team and one Davis team.
2. De’Andre Hunter ($4,800 FD) He’s up and down as far as production goes, but the minutes are there. You want to target SF against Chicago and at near min price Hunter is a chance I am willing to take, especially since Trae Young is already announced as missing the game. Cam Reddish is also a candidate to exceed value here and get extra usage. It’s scary, I know.
3. Kevin Porter ($4,100 FD) No Kevin Love for the Cavs tonight. If KAT out, and Porter is getting the start, he is better than the Hawks guys listed above. We will have to wait for the news.

Punt: Harrison Barnes ($4,500 FD), Cam Reddish ($4,000 FD)

Bounce Back Candidate: Paul George ($7,600 FD)

12/28 NBA DFS Power Forward

1. Anthony Davis ($10,800 FD) I love him tonight. He is underpriced, which is weird to say at over 10K. Targeting big men against the Portland Trailblazers has been a goldmine the past few weeks and Davis is arguably the best big man in the game. The last time he faced them this season he put up 64, and I would expect something similar tonight.
2. Richaun Holmes ($6,700 FD) Love it. Bagley is still out and Holmes is way underpriced for his ceiling against the Ayton-less Suns on a B2B.
3. Julius Randle ($7,800 FD) The big man is finally getting mid 30’s minutes and tonight goes against the very thin Washington Wizards. A close game means a huge night for Randle, again.
4. Nemanja Bjelica ($4,500 FD) Like him for the same reasons I love Holmes. Less upside, but 2K savings.

Value: Ersan Ilyasova ($4,100 FD) Giannis out again, will get extended minutes again at near min price. Not as easy of a matchup tonight, but he still far exceeds value.

Value: Larry Nance – No Love, want him starting though

Bounce Back Candidate: Jarrett Allen ($6,200 FD) Capella doubtful for the Rockets tonight.

12/28 DFS Center

1. Brook Lopez ($4,900 FD) Again, no Giannis for the Bucks tonight. Lopez will be more involved in the offense, like last night against the Hawks, but the Magic are top in the NBA at defending centers. Still, at $4,900 on FD you have to consider him as one of you top Centers. He should easily hit value and help you fit some studs in your lineup.
2. Rudy Gobert ($8,700 FD) He has been hot lately and has a great matchup (contrary to popular belief) against Clippers centers.
3. Nikola Vucevic ($7,900 FD) He is not limited on back to backs. He is steady and won’t be the reason you don’t cash. I don’t think he goes 6x, but I don’t think he gets you 40+ FD points. He is safe, especially in cash.
4. Tristan Thompson ($6,100 FD) Kevin love ruled out. He would be a fantastic play if we here KAT is out too.

Punt: Aron Baynes ($4,100 FD) He is a salary saver with low upside, but his price is so low that you can be pretty certain he hits value.
