NBA DFS Saturday Night Position Breakdown with DFS Pro David Jones

NBA DFS is all about finding the best opportunities for guaranteed production with a high upside. Follow my stud and value plays and lock in the NBA DFS Picks of Destiny.

David Jones won 100K on FanDuel! Read about it here

IMPORTANT: NBA DFS is completely different than any other sport. Players get ruled out five minutes before games and you HAVE TO BE READY to pivot. I will update this article as close to lineup lock as possible with any big news, but play it safe and stay on top of the news yourself. Hanging out in our Slack Chat is a great way to keep up to date.

I did my research on FanDuel today. The players can be used on both sites, but I refer to FanDuel pricing.

11/9 NBA DFS Point Guard

  1. Russell Westbrook ($10,000 FD)

Westbrook’s price keeps going down with James Harden taking up so much usage. I think I am going to pounce on him here. We need Chicago to keep this one close so he exceeds 30 minutes here and flirts with a triple-double. His last two games that he played in he did poorly, however that was game script dependent. Buying low on Westy seems like a good idea.

Pivot: Luka Doncic – he is obviously a stud with a great matchup, I am ranking him lower because he played last night and had to travel after the game. Hard choice, but you can’t play everyone. Ja Morant has been ruled out and I expect the Mavs to win this one pretty easily and not have to rely so much on Doncic. I will likely fade him.

2. Chris Paul ($7,000 FD)

A nice safe floor on Paul for $7,000 against the Golden State Warriors. He should safely get you over 30 FanDuel NBA DFS points. Better for Cash games.

Value PG: Tyus Jones – Morant ruled out

Pivots: Terry Rozier I expect a bounce back from an embarrassing last outing against his old team. However, a bounce back from Rozier looks like around 30 NBA DFS points. Not the sexiest play.

Note: The Bulls point guards seem to be in a nice value saving spot, however, there are a lot of cooks in the kitchen making them hard to predict who is going to have the best game. If I have to I will use one if he fits perfectly with my lineup builds. I am not planning on targeting them as of now.

11/9 NBA DFS Shooting Guard

  1. James Harden ($11,700 FD)

I think you are going to have to have Harden or Westbrook. On small four-game slates if you don’t nail the stud you don’t cash. I am working on getting them both in my main, but it is proving to be difficult. If I have to fade one, I think it would be Harden ONLY because I like the cheaper options at SG better than at PG. That is not advice to fade Harden, that is just if you have to make a very tough choice. Do what you can to fit him in.

2. D’Angelo Russell ($8,400 FD)

It’s the second game of a B2B but I don’t care. Russell should still get full run here and be the primary scorer on the Warriors. Last night he put up 82 FanDuel points. Wow. If he gets half that I will be happy. If you know anything from playing NBA DFS in the past it plays D’Angelo when he gets hot. OKC is ranked 26th against defending the shooting guard. Lock.

3. DeVonte’ Graham ($6,400 FD)

I have to admit I did not expect much from Graham this season, but in the two games, he has been on fire. He will get another opportunity to exceed value against the poor defense of Jru Holiday Saturday night. Over the past four games, Graham has started getting more minutes by his impressive play. The Pelicans are ranked 25th against defending the SG so it is a spot that we have been targeting since last season.

Value SG: Dillon Brooks – Usage bump with no Morant

Pivots in order: Jru Holiday, Lavine (not a bad idea to play with Harden or Westbrook, if the game is close, and the starters aren’t getting pulled, Lavine should have a lot to do with it), Gilgeous-Alexander, Schroeder (price makes sense but his minutes can be risky)

11/9 Small Forward

  1. Brandon Ingram ($8,800 FD)

He only got 31 minutes last night in the first game of a B2B. To me that says, he will be more utilized tonight. I love, love, love targeting the Hornets with guys that can rebound and produce in the paint. He is by far the top SF on the slate and as of now, it’s difficult seeing a scenario where you can fade him. I have him projected around 46 FanDuel points and at $8,800 that will work just fine in NBS DFS. I also like that we have a high game total at 230 and very close spread at 1.5. If this game stays close as Vegas predicts, Ingram might be the star of the slate, again. Update: Bonus that Lonzo is out (lock him in)

2. Danilo Gallinari ($6,700 FD)

Should get around 30 minutes in a high scoring game against a poor defense.

Pivot: Dorian Finney-Smith ($4,200 FD) Gets a boost with no Kristaps tonight

Pivots: Solomon Hill, Tim Hardaway

11/9 NBA DFS Power Forward

  1. Maxi Kleber ($4,900 FD)

He is getting the spot start with no Kristaps tonight. He is my favorite salary saver on the day.

2. Jaren Jackson ($6,400 FD)

Clarke has just been ruled out and he should get around 30 minutes against the Mavs with no Kristaps.

Value PF: Chandler Hutchinson ($3,600 FD) He is starting for Otto Porter tonight and is min price.

Pivot: P.J. Washington: top high priced pivot

Pivot: Lauri Markkanen: He has the most talent at the position but has been a bit cold lately, he had an elite match last night but only mustered up 31 NBA DFS points against the Hawks. I will spend down at PF tonight.

Pivot: PJ Tucker: In a close game, he gets minutes.

11/9 DFS Center

Dwight Powell ($5,100 FD)

He gets a huge boost with no Kristaps. He will get around 30 minutes against the 28th ranked Memphis Grizzlies at defending the NBA DFS Center. As I look around the top-priced centers’ none of their minutes are guaranteed, and that scares me. I am willing to pay down.

Pivot: Clint Capela ($8,900 FD) He is boom or bust, and at the top price, I think I want to avoid him. The play is fine if you somehow have a salary.

Pivot: Steven Adams: nothing sexy about him but he won’t kill you.
