MLB DFS Hitter Stacks (June 26)

Welcome to the Sunday edition of the Stack City, where I’ll be going through the top MLB DFS Stacks on DraftKings and Fanduel.

Our main slates on both DK and FD start at 1:35 PM EST and they include the same nine games. We have winds blowing out in both Minnesota and Chicago, and those are two stacks I highlight recommend getting exposure to in GPPs.

We should once again peruse Adam’s Starting Rotation article as our first order of business to help decide on arms, for the early and main slates.

Now it’s time to get to the stacks and build that bankroll!

MLB DFS Hitter Stacks – Main Slate

Minnesota Twins vs. Ryan Feltner

Yesterday the wind blew around 15 MPH out in Minnesota and they scored six runs. Today, it’s at about a 20 MPH clip against Feltner, so we can expect similar or better results in terms of offensive production. Feltner’s 5.46/4.67 ERA/FIP doesn’t inspire much confidence, and his pitch repertoire favors a few of the big hitters from the Twins, including Luis Arraez and Byron Buxton at the top, with Carlos Correa and Max Kepler in the next tier. Value options include Gio Urshela, Alex Kiriloff, Ryan Jeffers and Gilberto Celestino, who at just $2K can help fit some of the priority bats in there.

UPDATE: Celestino is not starting, but Mark Contreras (also minimum priced on DK) gets the nod.

Even if we game stack the pitchers from the Pirates-Rays game, which seems like a real option considering Adam’s article today, we’re going to need value. Celestino Contreras and those SPs leave us with $4,242 per remaining hitter, which should be enough to field a game-winning GPP lineup.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Chi Chi Gonzalez

I’m very excited to see the Blue Jays starting lineup, because we could get a great deal of value from a couple of hitters if they are near the top of the order. One of those hitters is Lourdes Gurriel, Jr. who’s scored at least 10 DK points in five straight games, racking up nine hits over his last 19 ABs, including two doubles and a HR. He’s still a great value play even if he’s down further in the lineup, but I’d like to see Santiago Espinal a little lower considering the very hittable Chi Chi is a RHP. The main priority bat for me on Toronto is Alejandro Kirk, who homered in three straight games before going 0-for-2 with two BBs yesterday.

Kirk really profiles perfectly against Gonzalez and his FB/SL/CH pitch repertoire, hitting fastballs better than anyone else on Toronto and 13th best in MLB. Other options include Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. (on FD especially since 1B has so many great options on DK), Teoscar Hernandez, Bo Bichette and value option Cavan Biggio. Ther problem with using Biggio at 2B is that I want all the Arraez in the Twins stack.

UPDATE: George Springer is back in the lineup, leading off, and makes for a great GPP play in this matchup.

Chicago White Sox vs. Jordan Lyles

I know that the White Sox aren’t hitting well these days and Adam has Lyles as a punt option in the Starting Rotation, but considering the weather in this game I need to get some shares of Andrew Vaughn, Tim Anderson, Luis Robert and Jose Abreu. Seby Zavala is a viable option at catcher but it’s really tough for me not to lock in Kirk or use Jeffers if I can’t afford the hot-hitting Alejandro.

We don’t need a full stack here, but Vaughn has some positional flexibility (1B/OF) and is under $5K — and I see him giving Lyles nightmares. OF Adam Haseley is also the DK minimum at $2K and could be worth using in one or two out of 10 GPPs.

MLB DFS Main Slate Summary

I don’t mind using Connor Joe as a run-back in the COL-MIN game facing fastball-heavy Joe Ryan, and there’s a chance we could use a couple Brewers in a game stack with the Toronto bats if we don’t think Berrios fares well in that venue.

For me, the toughest part of this MLB DFS slate will be deciding on which value bats top use and which guys from the aforementioned stacks we need to sacrifice, so I’ll be rolling out multiple GPPS entries and probably doing the small-fee 20 max tourneys on DK.

Also consider: Texas Rangers stack with 3B/OF Josh Smith (just $2,300 and leading off!), Corey Seager, Nate Lowe and exposure to Adolis Garcia, Kole Calhoun and Jonah Heim.

Red Sox OF (Jarren Duran, Alex Verdugo, Jackie Bradley and 1B/OF Franchy Cordero) are all still woefully underpriced and in play for GPPs and as MLB DFS cash games value.

One-offs I like also include OAK OF Seth Brown (vs. Brady Singer), STL SS Tommy Edman (vs. Alec Mills or Matt Swarmer) and Austin Hays/Cedric Mullins run-back against Dylan Cease in windy Chicago.

Good luck today, and remember to show us your green screens in Discord!
