Welcome to the Saturday edition of the Stack City, where I’ll be going through the top MLB DFS Stacks on DraftKings and Fanduel.
The MLB DFS action gets started with a three-game slate beginning at 1:10 PM EST, and once again, that could be fun as an appetizer, but the main slate has 12 games and kicks off at 7:05 PM EST, and that’ll be our focus. Adam’s Starting Rotation article takes the same tack in its analysis, so we should get his insights before planning which stacks we can build around to take down some GPPs.
Now it’s time to get to the stacks and build that bankroll!
MLB DFS Hitter Stacks – 7:10 PM (Main) Slate
Houston Astros vs. Zach Logue
I’m frankly a little worried for Logue in this matchup. While the Astros haven’t been getting the massive power and production we’ve become used to seeing from Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez, we’ve witnessed Kyle Tucker hit a couple of massive bombs over the past three games (including a grand slam last night). They’re slightly better offense against LHP, and Altuve and Alvarez in particular match up especially well vs. Logue.
We don’t need to force in a full stack for Houston with so many excellent stacking options on this slate, but if you want to attack a pitcher with a profile made for stacking against (6.81 K/9, 4.79/5.25 ERA/FIP), we can piece in some $4K and under value with Jeremy Pena, Aledmys Diaz, Yuri Gurriel and even $2K DK minimum-priced Jake Meyers, if he gets the start.
Only the Dodgers, Padres and Diamondbacks have higher projected run totals on this slate, and they all benefit from favorable parks/hitting conditions. The Astros make for a fine GPP stack in large-field tournaments in this slate.
San Diego Padres vs. Anibal Sanchez
The Padres took a few beats to get going last night, but they eventually rocked Nationals pitching for 10 runs in a decisive victory on a night where they also got some bad news about Fernando Tatis, Jr. Ringworm ain’t nothin’ to pay around with , folks!
With San Diego, we’ll need to do some mixing and matching since there’s so many productive and dynamic players throughout this lineup, and they’re not cheap. Last weekend I started out my stacks with Manny Machado, Juan Soto and Jurickson Profar, and I’ll do the same after I single out Brandon Drury and his torrid start for the Padres. In nine ngames, he’s hit three HRs and driven in 12, sporting a .393 wOBA. We’re still waiting for Josh Bell to find that same levekl of comfort in his new digs.
Veteran Nats starter Anibal Sanchez (in MLB since 2006!) has trouble with RHB, so I’m also looking closely at Ha-Seong Kim and Austin Nola — both under $4K.
Arizona D-Backs vs. Antonio Senzatela (and Semi-Game Stack)
Last weekend they played in Arizona, but now they’re in Coors — so I’m definitely interested in getting shares of this lineup and this game. We’re prioritizing the left-handed hitters from the D-Backs, including Daulton Varsho, Alek Thomas, Ketel Marte and leadoff man Josh Rojas. I’m not averse to plugging in some RHBs like Christian Walker or catcher Carson Kelly, but the lefty bats should be the focus given Jose Urena’s splits (.384 wOBA vs. LHB and .277 vs. RHB). Two more of those include Jake McCarthy and Seth Beer, value plays in this venue.
On the Colorado side, we can narrow our focus to Charlie Blackmon, C.J. Cron and Sam Hilliard, who has hits (and has scored runs) in three straight games. There’s so much offensive firepower on this slate that I’m not quite sure how many focus will pound the Coors angle, but the D-Backs still have the highest individual projected run total of the day, and we know they’re in a good spot against this pitcher.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Brad Keller
If there’s one thing going for Brad Keller, it’s that he’s an equal opportunity gas can who yields similar production to both sides of the plate. The bad news is that the Dodgers have power throughout their lineup and could unleash pure hell on Keller (6.03 K/9, 4.45/4.35 ERA/FIP) in this heat and wind, which is blowing out to center in Kansas City.
Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Trea Turner and Will Smith are once again the big names in the 1-4 slots that you’ll want shares of, but for the second straight Saturday we can get some shares of Joey Gallo and Cody Bellinger, not to mention the red-hot Max Muncy, who has 4 HR since the start of August and the third-highest wRC+ in MLB over the past 14 days (tied with Jeff McNeil at 228; Aaron Judge is first at 297).

Seattle Mariners vs. Dane Dunning: It’s a decent contrarian stack and Julio Rodriguez is back in the lineup. Giddyup.
Slate Summary: There are clear-cut options for stacks today and Adam Strangis has once again given us plenty of pitching options, including some of my personal favorite sin the mid-range (I’m looking at you, young fireballer Reid Detmers and new Yankee Frankie Montas!). So let’s put ourselves in position for some green screens using the articles and projections — and finalizing things based on late-breaking lineup news and via Discord chat. Good luck today!
