Fanduel CBB Game by Game Breakdown 12/4/20

I will be switching up the style of the article from my first two CBB articles. I will be breaking down the three games on the Fanduel slate. This breakdown is structured to help you build your lineups with certain plays in each game. I want to note if I don’t include a play in my breakdown that doesn’t mean I am necessary fading or I don’t like that play. So here is my Fanduel CBB Game by Game Breakdown 12/4/20.

  • Wisconsin @ Marquette // Line -4.5 Wisconsin 134 O/U
  • Valparaiso @ Purdue // Line -15.0 Purdue 140 O/U
  • Oregon @ Seton Hall // Line -3.5 Seton Hall 142.5 O/U

Wisconsin @ Marquette

Starting off with the Wisconsin side of this game. They are 3-0 and ranked #4 in the country to start the season playing three very bad teams. They will get their first test of the season when they face Marquette. They are small favorites tonight in what should be a close game. This game has the lowest O/U on the slate of the three at only 134. So I probably wouldn’t load up on this game. Now for the plays you definitely have to give consideration to the two Wisconsin bigs in Nate Reuvers ($6,600) and Micah Potter ($6,200). Don’t pay attention to their minutes in the first three games as I mentioned above they haven’t played any decent competition yet. They should get more minutes than what they are averaging currently. I actually prefer Reuvers even though he has slightly a less usage rate of 25.2% but he gets more shots up and has defensive upside with blocks. The guards for Wisconsin in D’Mitrik Trice ($5,500) and Brad Davison($4,700) don’t really interest me. Aleem Ford ($4,800) is a nice value as he starts and actually has a higher usage rate (21.0%) than Trice/Davison.

Now for the Marquette side of this game- Again I wouldn’t go crazy with this one. Marquette has the 2nd lowest implied team total on the slate of 65.0. In three games Marquette has shown they are basically going with a 7 man rotation which makes some players decent plays on this slate. I will start with Koby McEwen ($5,600) who leads the team with a 24% usage rate. Theo John ($6,800) is probably a bit too expensive for my liking on this slate. Especially against Wisconsin who is known as a solid defensive team. Jamal Cain ($5,200) and Dawson Garcia ($5,600) are good options as well as they are reasonably priced. I don’t think you can go wrong with rostering either of them. Cain has a higher usage rate but Garcia is averaging more minutes.

Valparaiso @ Purdue

I will start with the Valparaiso side of this game and make it real quick. They have the lowest implied team total on the slate of 62.5 and they are 15 point underdogs on the road against a decent Purdue team. There are really only two guys I would even give consideration to and I honestly don’t think I will roster anybody from Valparaiso in my lineup. But, Donovan Clay ($5,100) and Ben Krikke ($4,600) are the two guys. Clay and Krikke lead the team in minutes averaging 34/31 respectfully. Both have usage rates around 20% but I think I avoid this side of the game.

Now Purdue on the other hand has the highest implied team total on the slate of 77.0. There are a few players I like tonight for Purdue but, let’s start with Trevion Williams ($6,300) who leads the team with a 33% usage in their first three games of the season. He is averaging 21.3 MPG but that doesn’t really concern me. If Purdue is going to run away with this game he should be a big factor. Brandon Newman ($5,200) and Isaiah Thompson ($3,700) are the guards I am targeting for Purdue. Newman leads the team in minutes averaging 31.7 MPG and has the 2nd highest usage of 21.5%. Thompson is super cheap for a player who is averaging 29 MPG. His usage rate is low at only 14.7%. But, for a guy that cheap playing big minutes I will take it.

Oregon @ Seton Hall

I will start with the Oregon side of this game. They are coming off their first game of the season which was a loss to Missouri on Wednesday. This game with Seton Hall has the highest O/U on the slate and has Seton Hall small favorites. I really like this game in terms of stacking it. Let’s start with possibly the biggest price increase in CBB this year. Eugene Omoruyi ($7,400) was only 3K on Wednesday and dropped 44.70 fantasy points. I still think he is worth the price increase. Obviously, he can’t sustain the 38.2% usage rate, 31 points, and 11 rebounds. Chris Duarte ($7,000) played 38 minutes in that loss to Missouri and had an 18.8% usage rate in which he scored 22 points. LJ Figueroa ($5,600) the St. Johns transfer received a waiver from the NCAA and is immediately eligible to play. He averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists at St. Johns in his two years there. I really like him as a mid-tier play.

On the Seton hall side of this game. They have started the season 1-2 with a tough 1 point loss in their opener vs Louisville. Sandro Mamukelashvili ($7,200) is my favorite stud on this slate and should be locked in your lineups. He leads the team with a 30.1% usage rate, 36 MPG, 21.7 PPG, and 9.0 RPG. He is a double-double threat every time he plays. Jared Rhoden ($6,400) is the other option I would consider from Seton Hall. He is second to Mamukelashvili in every stat I mentioned above.
