Cash With the Flash: Best Bets for Labor Day, 2019

Happy Labor Day!!
If you are reading Cash with the Flash best bets and celebrate Labor Day, then on this last “official” day of summer, I hope you have a terrific day. If you aren’t celebrating and are working like me, I have some wagers to hopefully make this a happy day for you financially.
Parlays are no Bueno
I don’t like parlays. That’s not to say I don’t play them, because I do. After 35 plus years of being around the betting business, I know parlays aren’t a profitable venture in the long run because they weren’t set up that way.
Parlays were designed to separate the squares from their money. Nothing more and nothing less.
A five-leg parlay is a 25-1 wager and you need quite a bit of luck for that to hit. Those aren’t insurmountable odds at all, but you must minimize the risk in order to reap the reward, and that isn’t always the easiest thing to do.
Had you of played my pick from Saturday, you would be up 10 units as we went 5-0 ATS and 0-1 on the money line from a bad Northwestern beat. 10 units because each play was a two-unit recommendation.
We had to lay far too much wood for us to play those picks on a parlay ticket. We were lucky that we did cover those five ATS plays but they weren’t good enough to minimize the risk for successful parlay tickets.
Maybe one or two of these picks would work but we had three plays spotting 18.5 points or more and that would be too much wood for my taste. Of course, your mileage may vary.
Good Bankroll Management is Essential
I suppose the point of all that was to say the Saturday Best Bets weren’t designed to be played together in a parlay and I wish I would have mentioned that in the piece.
Bankroll management is the key to everything and if I am playing a parlay ticket, I’m never going over one unit on any parlay ticket. Again, your mileage may vary.
Our Cash with the Flash best bets today should be played alone and if you feel so inclined, throw a couple of shekels into a parlay as these best bets aren’t as risky on Monday.
Julia Goerges (+110) over Donna Vecic (-135)
Three Units
While all the focus has been on Serena Williams and Coco Gauff, Goerges and Vecic have quietly gone about their business and meet at 11:00 am a showdown at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Goerges is seventh at this event in Aces (16) and while Vecic has played great this tournament, she hasn’t faced anyone of the caliber of Goerges and hasn’t beaten the German in their three previous matches to date. Goerges has too much experience and can smell a nice payday with a win Monday. Julia Goerges is one of our Cash with the Flash best bets for Monday!
Alexander Zverev (-125) over Diego Schwartzman (Even)
Two Units
We do seem to like the Germans today, don’t we? Well, this German is the sixth seed and has had a bumpy road to his fourth-round matchup with the feisty Argentinian Schwartzman. Zverev has played 14 sets of tennis over his first three rounds whereas Schwartzman has strolled through his section of the field with three consecutive three-set victories.
As good as Schwartzman has played, he hasn’t been pushed and Zverev has had his back to the wall numerous times this past week. Each time the young German came through. The fellas have a career record of 1-1 against each other and Zverev has won their only encounter on the hard courts. Cash with the Flash and play Alexander Zverev as one of our best bets for Monday.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-18.5) over Louisville Cardinals
Three Units
That’s a bunch of wood to lay on a Monday night NCAA football game but we’re going to do it anyway. Notre Dame returns 13 starters for a tackle football team that went 12-1 and a Cotton Bowl loss to Clemson. Scott Satterfield takes over a Louisville team returning 16 starters from a 2-10 team a season ago.
The Irish must be pissed about how last season ended and I’m sure they are going to be fired up and ready to go Monday night. Louisville has a new head coach, a new defensive coordinator and while this team might be better record-wise than 2018, they have a long way to go if they want to compete with the likes of the Fighting Irish or even be touted at Cash with the Flash best bets.
This should be a good test for the Irish against a decent Cardinals defense, but Notre Dame should cover the spread and then some. When I did the math, I came up with the Irish winning by 28 points. Cash with the Flash with Notre Dame covering the 18.5 points as one of your best bets for Monday!!
