I don’t think the Minnesota Vikings are going to win this game but whoever decided to make the San Francisco 49ers must have wanted to give us a gift. And giving the Vikings seven points feels like an extra visit from Santa Claus.
The Vikings are a decent road team, as their 5-4 record suggests they are and are 10-7 against the spread (ATS). Minnesota is also 5-4 ATS as the road team and 2-2 ATS as the road underdog. The Vikings are relatively healthy with the exception of wideout Adam Thielen who is a bit banged up but should play today.
San Francisco is 3-4-1 ATS as the home team with the same record as the home favorites this season. Overall, the 49ers are 9-6-1 ATS this season and are 6-2 at Levi’s Stadium this season. San Francisco is also coming off a bye and they are relatively healthier than they were when they defeated the Seattle Seahawks two weeks ago.
The 49ers defense has allowed an average of 31 points per game over their last four games and we expect the Vikings to keep this one close if they don’t flat out win it. Minnesota has scored 128 points over its last five and allowed only 81 points over that same five-game span.
