My projection for profit has increased from last week, from +628.90 to +884.05 on Draft Kings. Just a reminder, how I calculate being overweight and underweight on players is 1/12 = 8.33%. 12 is the number of teams that participate in best ball drafts. With a number of my teams jumping into the top 2 in the standings, I’m hoping Week 4 sees a similar increase. Teams on the cusps are my Burrow-Chase/Higgins teams.
Hits:
Keenan Allen (14%) – Keenan leads the league with 15 catches against man-to-man coverage. Michael Pittman is second with 9. He is beating CBs from the slot and the outside, as well as against zone and man coverage. Career season incoming. Normally when a WR gets 20 targets (Week 3) it’s a good thing (sarcasm). With Mike Will out will he now get 25-30? I kid I kid. Josh Palmer steps into the WR2 role but Keenan now becomes even the more Alpha Dog. Keenan has had hamstring problems in the past. But for this 14% owned WR1 I’ll fly out to LA and massage those hammies myself.
De’von Achane (10%) – looks explosive. Only has a 31-year-old injury-prone RB in front of him. Not expecting much from Jeff Wilson. Another potential late round RB league winner.
Kenneth Walker (10%) – exploded for over 150 total yards with 2 TDs this past weekend. I often targeted this 2nd year RB in a TON of Zero RB builds. Mainly taken in Round 5 matched with elite WR/TEs combos, he is currently paying off handsomely. Which makes sense since I’m very handsome myself.
Amari Cooper (9%) – 8 targets 7 catches 116 yards with a TD. Browns might be more pass heavy without Chubb. He’s on pace to have a career best season.
Tank Dell (5%)- during off season and combine workouts CJ Stroud showed such great chemistry with this WR out of Houston University that he told the Texans front office to go out and draft him. And after three weeks they are glad they listened. The rookie exploded for 145 yards with one score. Has he passed Nico Collins in the pecking order? It might be too soon to tell, but DAMN he looks good. I’m considering this a hit because he went mainly undrafted earlier in the summer. For those reading the tea leaves in practice reports, you targeted him in the later rounds.
Derrick Henry (2%) – Father Time is undefeated. Prince Henry turned 11 Carries into 20 scoreless yards. Titans O-Line is one of the league’s worst and it shows. Whoever went heavy WRs in the first two rounds must be chomping at the bit. Chubb, Ekeler, Saquon, and King Henry have all but disappointed owners. I am (13%) on Tyjae Spears who has been getting plenty of work.
Misses:
Brandon Cooks (16%) – first game back and was out targeted by Michael Gallup. Has gotten off to a really slow start. Hopefully the chemistry between him and Dak improves.
Sam Laporta (6%)- this rookie TE has shown great chemistry with Jared Goff as he consistently gets open in the middle of the field. 8 grabs for 84 yards with a touchdown. If you cashed high in DFS this week he was most likely your TE. Slightly underweight on Laporta, definitely wish I had more shares.
Zach Moss (1%)- playing at a top 3 snap rate out of all the RBs. Deon Jackson was cut, getting a huge workload. What will happen when JT returns? If Jim Isray has his way, he’ll be downgraded to t-shirt cannon shooter.
Adam Thielen (1%)- this 1 % owned WR is making me looking stupid. And I don’t particularly like that.
James Conner (1%)- what is going on in the desert? The 1-2 cardinals are surprising everyone with not only their record, but their competitiveness. Their 2 losses easily could’ve been wins and they just CONVINCINGLY beat the top NFC team. Jonathan Gannon shows what a difference a well-coached team can do with a mediocre roster. Robert Saleh, are you taking notes? Conner had over 100 total yards with a touchdown against the leagues #1 ranked defense. I really hope he slows down because he is on just 1% of my best ball teams.
My top team from Week 3 dropping a 223 burger! With my FIRST TWO ROUND PICKS ON THE BENCH! CeeDee Lamb and Garret Wilson are on thin ice.
