IMPORTANT: NBA DFS is completely different than any other sport. Players get ruled out five minutes before games and you HAVE TO BE READY to pivot. I will update this article as close to lineup lock as possible with any big news, but play it safe and stay on top of the news yourself. Hanging out in our Slack Chat is a great way to keep up to date.
11/8 NBA DFS Point Guard
- Malcolm Brogdon ($8,800 FD)
All the high priced point guards have good matchups tonight but Brogdon is the cheapest and might have the best matchup. I constantly target the Pistons guards. They are completely depleted with injuries. The Pacers have already faced them twice this year. In the two games, Brogdon put up 43 and 45 NBA DFS points. This was before the injury bug hit Detroit. Throw in the Jeremey Lamb is missing the game for the Pacers, which gives Brogdon yet another bump, and we have our top guy at PG.
Pivots: Lillard, Doncic, Irving, and Trae. Hard to hate any of these guys tonight if I’m just being honest. Trae should be lowest owned and in a nice matchup against the Kings. He is the kind of player that bounces back after a poor outing in my opinion. He and Brogdon are going to be in the conversation for Most Improved Player at the end of the season.
2. Raul Neto ($3,700 FD)
Welcome to Chalk Town and the Mayor is Raul Neto. He is getting the spot start for Ben Simmons today. He will be popular but I am still willing to play him. He should get about 30 minutes tonight against the Denver Nuggets. I do not think his usage will compare to Richardson, Harris, Horford or Embiid but he is min price and starting. If he only puts up 25 FD points again you will be just fine. Denver is not an easy NBA DFS matchup but Neto contributes in points, assists, and rebounds (surprisingly). We like NBA DFS players that contribute in multiple categories and are cheap so Neto fits the bill.
Value Pivot: Aaron Holiday ($4,100 FD)
He had the coldest start imaginable last game and still managed to put up 21.9 FD points. He will not start that slow again. I would not be surprised if he beat out Neto in raw fantasy points. He has a far superior matchup and will be on the court just as much. He will be much much lower owned than Neto.
11/8 NBA DFS Shooting Guard
- Bradley Beal ($9,100 FD)
Two terrible defenses playing here and Beal is the most prolific scorer on the court. He will be the primary ball-handler and get over 35 minutes in a close game (which I expect). He is expensive but he is also guaranteed production. Collin Sexton is known for his bad defense and he should be the one trying to slow Beal down. Spoiler alert: It’s not going to work.
UPDATE Pivot: D’Angelo Russel (Love), Jru Holiday (Lonzo in, bump down)
2. Andrew Wiggins ($7,100 FD)
Should be in for 35+ minutes in a high scoring game against the Golden State Warriors. Teague has already been ruled out for this one. If Napier finds his way in the starting roster I will probably back off Wiggins. I will update closer to lock but be sure to watch the news in our Slack Chat as well.
Pivot: Josh Richardson, Fred Van Fleet, RJ Barrett (blowout concern)
11/8 Small Forward
We have some big names at SF tonight, who are mostly all in good spots. If you have to salary to lock in two of the big four (Ant, Lebron, Siakam, Ingram) and guarantee yourself over 100 points for those two spots, more power to you. We do have some value tonight that is hard to ignore though…
- Brandon Ingram ($8,800 FD)
I guess FanDuel is just going to keep pricing this guy like he doesn’t put up 50 points a game. He is too cheap and I love him tonight. The Raptors/Pelicans game has a 232.5 team total, which is something we look for. Lonzo Ball may also be out for this game which would bump Ingram’s usage way up. If there is no Zo, I will 100% roster him on basically every team I make tonight.
Pivot: Siakam
2. Jarrett Culver ($3,800 FD)
NOTE: If Shabazz Napier is in this significantly bumps down Culver. We are going to have to watch the news.
Jeff Teague is already ruled out so Culver will be running the point against Golden State and will pay off. He will be chalk but I am gonna eat it up! Don’t play yourself. Take the start PG for min price against the Golden State rookie squad.
Update: Troy Brown starting – Dont love, but won’t kill ya
Pivot: Tobias Harris ($6,500)
His price has dropped despite him having a fantastic opening to the season. There is no Ben Simmons tonight so he gets a bump up however the matchup against Denver is tough. I will sprinkle him in a couple of lineups but am much higher on the two guys listed above.
Pivot 2: OG Anunoby ($6,000 FD)
He is about to get high 30+ minutes against the Pelicans (232.5 total). Aunuoby or Siakam is going to have a great night. If you are not rostering Siakam, then you should highly consider OG.
11/8 NBA DFS Power Forward
- Anthony Davis ($11,200 FD)
His price went down. You don’t usually see that with Davis. I will hop on it while I can. The matchup is not an easy one against the Miami Heat, but they are on the second game of a B2B and Davis is the best PF in the league, and it isn’t close. He bounces back here in a nationally televised game where most of the attention will be on Lebron. He should be the highest-scoring NBA DFS PF.
Update: Sabonis Kevin Love
2. Richaun Holmes ($6,400 FD)
Harry Giles might play. I have significantly less interest if he is in.
Look, I don’t think he will be the second-highest scoring PF, but I love him for his price. He goes against the John Collins-less Atlanta defense and will get at least 30 minutes if he stays out of foul trouble. When starting, Holmes has not had back to back duds the entire season. He has double-double and block potential. At $6,400 FD he is one of my favorite NBA DFS salary savers of the night.
Update Pivots: Jared Allen (Javi special pick), Julius Randal (blowout potential), Al Horford (usage bump but tough matchup)
11/8 DFS Center
Andre Drummond ($10,900 FD)
This is the third time he has played the Pacers this year. I have Drummond as my top guy with the expectation that Myles Turner is out. If Turner is in, I still like him tremendously and wouldn’t necessarily panic swap him out. Drummond will get a double-double, just lock that in. He has 41 rebounds in his first two games against Indy combined and 50 points total. My largest concern is that the Pacers blow out the Pistons. But, if the Pistons can hang in there is all because of Andre Drummond.
Pivots: Karl Anthony-Towns (elite matchup) Joel Embiid (usage bump, not scared of matchup)
Pivot: Tristan Thompson ($8,300 FD)
A great matchup against Washington and just continues to produce. His price is getting a little to close to the elite tier guys now, but he should get you 35-40+ in this spot.
Value Pivot: Bobby Portis ($4,400 FD)
Mitchel Robinson has been ruled out and Portis should get the start. The Mavs are a talented bunch and this game could get out of hand. That is my only concern.
