3/13 LIGA MX Two Game Slate

Querataro (+230) at Morelia (+100) – Under 2.5 Goals (– 110)

Hola mis amigos, los degens. With the sports shutting down worldwide, it just gets crazier and we are down to UFC and soccer wise only Liga MX. Like many of you, despite playing a lot of soccer DFS, I am unfamiliar with many of the Liga MX players so had to dig in to stats, lineups, and game logs.

Let’s start with the top game. Querataro visits Mexico’s butterfly capital, Morelia, where the home team is favored.

Querataro

On the visiting side, Querataro striker Ariel Nahuelpan is the most expensive player on the slate at $9,700. It looks like he has been bagging points with five goals and one assist over his seven appearances. However, his team is an underdog here on the road versus a good defensive team. I will take an underweight stance with the expectation he will be chalkier. In a cash game I get it, but don’t think it’s necessary. If you’re making multiple lines, get some exposure just to eat it just in case.

Aside from that, wing defender Jaime Gomez looks like decent value at $4,700 as he is sending in a minimum of 3-4 crosses a game. He is nothing that special but provides some value for the price.

Morelia

For the home team, we will have to see the lineup but it seems Fernando Aristeguieta and Martin Rodriguez lead the line with Luis Mendoza a game-time decision as to the third forward, with Lucas Villafanez the other option. The latter two should be tournament only as one is likely to sub in for the other at some point. Morelia is the biggest favorite on the slate so it makes sense to get exposure. Rodriguez handles a share of the set pieces so he offers the highest floor of the three so he would the one to use as a cash game forward if choosing between the three. In net, Malagon is the biggest favorite in the slate so most likely to get the five points for the W, although he has not gained many clean sheets so I prefer to pay down elsewhere. I will have a share though.

As far as my favorite play for this team, it seems this Carlos Vargas is vastly underpriced as a wing defender at $3,200. He scored a goal last match and came up with nine DK points the game before so solid value and a building block. I would gladly take eight-nine points at that price as it is a steal.

Pachuca (+210) at Tijuana (+125) – Under 2.5 Goals (-110)

Moving on next we have Pachucha visiting Tijuana’s aptlynamed Estadio Caliente.

Pachuca

Starting with Pachuca. Hopefully, their trip to Tijuana goes better than those that some of you might have partaken in while crossing the border. One player that sticks out is Rubens Sambueza who must have control of set pieces with the massive amount of crosses and shots assisted he is racking up. I love players who aren’t goal dependent for points on DK so I will have plenty of him.

Forward Franco Jara comes in at a nice price so another solid option. He has been a recent run of form with four goals scored over his last goal games so he should be chalky at his price. It seems Miguel Tapias is a wing defender so at $4,000 as a midfielder he is a tremendous value. I like him as a pivot to this Clifford Aboagye who is getting buzz around the industry.

Finally, the goaltender Oscar Ustari has stopped 18 out of 19 shots this season which would be tremendous even by NHL standards. I will likely use him and Morelia’s goalie.

Tijuana

As far as the Tijuana side, they are the team I have the least interest in. If playing anyone, it would be Miller Bolanos who takes all of the set pieces.

Top Five Favorite Plays

  1. Carlos Vargas – $3,200
  2. Miguel Tapias – $4,000
  3. Rubens Sambueza – $9,100
  4. Oscar Ustari – $4,600
  5. Franco Jara – $7,200
