WE MADE IT! Fight Island is here; it is a real thing, and not a myth. Since the beginning of the world pandemic, Uncle Dana has been promising us all fight after fight and show after show, even if it meant he had to buy an Island to do so… Well, here it is. On Saturday, July, 11,2020, 6 pm eastern standard time, we are all welcomed to UFC FIGHT ISLAND, Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates, where each fighter on this THIRTEEN fight, fight card has been individually flown. I feel like a kid in a candy store that is excited to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for the first-ever fight card on UFC Fight Island. Let’s get started and get ready to make some money together!
Win Daily Sports is committed to bringing its members and subscribers fresh content daily for as long as the professional sports leagues remain on hiatus. MY MMA VALUE TARGET:
Jessica Andrade (+175) (DK 7200) (FD $13) vs. Rose Namajunas (-225) (DK 900) (FD $17).
Jessica has a UFC record of twelve wins and five losses. She is an absolute killer inside of the octagon. The power behind every punch that she throws is second to no one at her respective weight class. Andrade has the ability to knock any opponent in her weight division out with just one punch. At 115 pounds, it is very rare to find anyone with that type of power and strength. She will take every shot thrown her way, eat them, return overwhelming punches, and force her opponent to start to quit.
Namajunas has seen Andrade in action, up close, and personal. She lost the last fight vs. Andrade via TKO in the second round. Rose has six wins and five losses in her UFC career. She is a very technical kickboxer but learned in her last fight vs. Andrade, you have to have more than just technical kicks to beat her. I see this fight turning into an almost identical performance, and Jessica Andrade coming out on top. She is my favorite value play of the day and a staple in the majority of my MMA DFS lineups. Even though I will have Andrade in 50-60% of my lineups, I will still have one or two lineups with Namajunas for hedging purposes only.
MY MMA DFS PICK: Jessica Andrade (+175) (DK 7200) (FD $13) THIRD ROUND TKO.
MY MMA LOCKED IN TARGET:
Petrn Yan (-230) (DK 9300) (FD $19) vs. Jose Aldo (+180) (DK 6900) (FD $14).
Jose Aldo is no longer in his prime. He does not have the strength, power, cardio, or consistency to keep it up on a high level anymore. He is coming off of back to back losses, and for some reason, Dana White felt like it would be a good idea to have the number three contender in the world fight someone who is not even close to his level.
The number three contender is Petr Yan. Yan is an absolute force in the UFC. He has slaughtered many opponents on his path to the title, only being defeated once in his career. Fortunately for him, Henry Cejudo retired and left a championship belt with no owner. Yan is going to come out and obliterate Aldo in this fight. Petr is better on almost every level. DO NOT expect Aldo to stand up for too long, as I believe this will end in a third-round TKO.
MY UFC PICK: Petrn Yan (-230) (DK 9300) (FD $19) THIRD ROUND TKO.
MY MMA TOP SCORING TARGET:
Kamaru Usman (-250) (DK 8900) (FD $22) vs. Jorge Masvidal (+195) (DK 7300) (FD $18).
What more can I say, other than that Usman is an absolute freak of nature. He will rip apart anyone that steps into his octagon. Usman is like a well-oiled machine, consistently performing at a high level over and over again. Kamaru’s original opponent was Gilbert Burns. Burns is the number one contender in the world and would of most definitely given Usman more than he could handle.
Unfortunetly for Burns, he tested positive in his COVID test results, and he is now watching the fight from home, speaking of watching the fight from home. Masvidal had no clue that he would be fighting for the championship belt a week ago. I do not think Masvidal had enough time to prepare. Preparing for a regular fight is different than preparing for a title fight. It just is. Jorge is an excellent fighter, but in my opinion, he needs a lot more time to prepare for the champion. I think Usman will level out Masvidal in the fourth round of this fight and will produce upwards of 150 Fantasy points.
MY UFC PICK: Kamaru Usman (-250) (DK 8900) (FD $22) FOURTH ROUND TKO.
MMA HONORABLE MENTION:
Amanda Ribas (-850) (DK 9200) (FD $20)
Jiri Prochazka (+130) (DK 7800) (FD $15)
Leonardo Santos (-175) (DK 8800) (FD $19)
Maxim Grishin (-115) (DK 8100) (FD $16)
SUMMARY:
On Saturday’s 13 bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 10 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the three targets listed in my article to be a part of about 75 percent of my lineups. Always remember the more rounds in a fight, the higher the fantasy score could be. Try to focus on the three five-round title fights (five-rounds instead of three). This slate is very tough to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close in skillset. I will use a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP winning lineup.
I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my core (fighters above) to be a staple in my DFS lineups, and I will build around them with the available salary. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat or you can find me on Twitter @JThomsonDFS. GOOD LUCK and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
