MLB: Cash with Flash Friday Picks!

Welcome to Cash with Flash Best Bets Friday MLB Betting Column. We’re excited to be here and we’ll try and write in this space as often as time allows.

Wednesday was another winning day as we hit with the plus money Tigers but missed with the plus money Braves. That leaves us with a 47-43-11 mark over the history of this 2021 MLB Betting column.

We’re ahead of the game because of the 28 underdogs and several short favorites we hit. Well over half of our wins were from wagering on underdogs and without them we’d be trending in the wrong direction. That’s something we don’t want to do.

The most important thing to remember when betting on baseball is finding underdogs as it takes a 52.4 percent success rate at -110 just to break even. This column will offer a mixture of mid to short favorites (-110 to -160) as well as underdogs at +200 and below.

We’re also looking at F5 inning wagers in order to eliminate bullpens, the church league softball extra-inning, man on second base and seven-inning doubleheader rules MLB has thrust upon us.

Friday MLB Best Bets!

Unless otherwise indicated, all wagers are First Five Innings Wagers (F5).

In order to arrive at our conclusions, we’ll be using the principles found in Betting Baseball 101

Baltimore Orioles vs Detroit Tigers

Game two of a four-game scheduled series begins tonight at 7:10 pm. Detroit won game one and leads their season series 1-0.

Matt Harvey (5-10, 6.65) should make the start tonight and over his past 15.2 innings pitched has allowed six earned runs with nine strikeouts. He’s up against a Detroit offense with a 26 percent strikeout rate, .164 ISO and wRC+ of 94 against right-handed pitching this season.

Tarik Skubal (6-9, 4.42) is expected to start tonight and over his last 17 innings pitched has allowed nine earned runs with 13 strikeouts. He’ll meet a Orioles offense with a 22 percent strikeout rate alongside a .164 ISO and wRC+ of 108 against left-handed pitching this season.

Cash with Flash Friday MLB Pick: Baltimore +130

Cincinnati Reds vs New York Mets

Game one of a three-game scheduled series takes place tonight at 7:10 pm. New York holds a 2-1 season series edge.

Sonny Gray (2-6, 4.50) makes the start tonight and over his previous 15 innings pitched has allowed 15 earned runs with 16 punchouts. He’s up against a Mets offense with a 24 percent strikeout rate, .151 ISO and wRC+ of 96 this season against right-handed pitching.

Carlos Carrasco is making his first start since last September. He has a career record of 88-73 with a 3.77 ERA and 1305 strikeouts over 1242.1 career innings pitched. He’ll meet a Reds offense with a 23 percent strikeout rate, .176 ISO and wRC+ of 105 against right-handed pitching this season.
