Welcome to Zak’s Puck Picks!! I started in Cash with Flash Handicapping Challenge and have been heating up. I am super excited to keep the momentum going and win some serious money with all of you!
A big part of my life is my 3 kids. Each one of them holds a different attribute that I would personally use to aid me in deciding what picks to make. My twins Pork and Ribs and their little brother Bean (not their real names but very appropriate nicknames).
Pork is a doer. He is one to dive into a situation and figure it out as it unfolds, usually with great success. In terms of the puck pick, it will be a gut feeling pick and be backed with some stats to explain the feeling.
Ribs, he likes to observe the situation, take in all the information, and then make an educated decision on what his next step will be. His puck pick will be focused around teams that are on hot streaks, either against a team in a matchup or on a winning streak.
Now Bean may sound cute and innocent, but he is a wild man. Not a lot of thought goes into actions and if there is some thought, its geared towards “how can I push Dad’s buttons”. His puck pick will be a little more on the risky side. There will be reasons why I think we should go his way.
As cook by trade and hockey as a passion since I was 3 years old, let’s get some puck picks in the oven and make some dough shall we?

Puck Record for February (17-14) last night (2-2).
Pork’s Puck Pick- Winnipeg Jets- 175 NOTE: THIS GAME IS AN EARLY STAR!! 2 pm EST
We all know the struggles of the Ottawa Senators Newsday Sports states that they have won just 2 of their last 10 games. Winnipeg hasn’t been great lately but has been playing much better, even beating the St. Louis Blues twice in the last week. The Senator’s depth compared to the depth of the Jets is what I believe will propel Winnipeg to the win.
Rib’s Puck Pick- Vancouver Canucks-121
Vancouver is back home after a rough road trip going 2 and 3. They are however going up against an ailing Flames team who have lost their number one defenseman and have lost their last two games to teams they needed to win. Having a 17-5-3 home record facing an ailing team is enough for me to believe the Canucks have what it takes to take down the Flames.
Bean’s Puck Pick – Nashville Predators -106
Nashville has a huge win over the Flames in Calgary the other night leaving them 1 point out of the last playoff spot with 2 games in hand. The Oilers have been inconsistent lately and have been blown out their last 2 games (3-0 to Arizona and 6-3 to San Jose). Going to ride with the hotter team here and predict Nashville pulls out the W at home.
Zak’s Puck Pick – New Jersey Devils –139
A Rematch of the 2012 Stanley Cup finals. Hard to believe that 8 years later, these two teams are near the bottom of their respective conferences. This is a gut feeling. Cal Peterson is starting this one as the puck stopper for LA. The last NHL game he played was an exhibition game on September 23rd. The Devils have recently figured out how to put the puck in the net. The Devils have scored 20 goals in their last 5 games. The question here is can they keep the puck out of their net. After a 46 save shutout from McKenzie Blackwood I have a ton of hope that the Devils are turning the corner. With the uncertainty of LA on their back end and in goal, I predict a victory for the Devils at the Rock.
There are a few other matchups I may like, however it depends who the puck stopper is. Stay tuned to the #nhl and # sports betting tabs on Discord, as well as Twitter for any changes or more potential matchups as more news unfolds!
